Long ago, the land of Equestria was a prosperous land. With the Elements of Harmony, peace had been achieved under the eternal rule of both Celestia and Luna.

The Immortal Bearers of the Elements were allowed power, as the Age of Harmony reigned over the land with love and care for all.

But like all good things, it was not to last.

The use of the Elements had a steep price.

It called for a need for souls.

Souls that would attract something more sinister to the land.

Demons.

They wiped out towns, burned villages, and stole the souls of the populace. Without souls, many of the ponies had grown insane, their bodies forced to live without thought.

And so, this is where we begin.

One thousand years after the Elements of Harmony were used against Nightmare Moon.

Ten years after the demons ravaged Equestria.

The day when a Demon Slayer appeared.

The mare who was to mend the world.
