Chapter 1: Meeting An Angel

"Why are they making me do work for Rarity?" Chocolate Wings grunted as he walked into Ponyville. My job is to help the Apple family out on their farm, why in Celestia's name am I going to help Rarity with things, he thought as the Carousel Boutique came into view, making him moan in agony. Being the stallion that he was he hated spending time around girly things, especially dresses, but if he didn't go he could lose his job on the farm. As he got closer to the entrance he saw a beautiful white Unicorn walking towards the Boutique, so in an attempt to be courteous he held the door, bowing his head slightly.

"Mares first" he said in what he thought was a posh tone of voice, but when the mare laughed he looked up quickly, afraid he had done something stupid.

"Why thank you kind sir" the mare said while trying to hold back a laugh as she talked back him into the store. After they went inside they stood there quietly, waiting for Rarity to figure out they were there. As time went on Choco started to get annoyed, and made his way up the stairs to Rarity's work room to get her so he could be free, and so the mare beside him could get her dress.

Knock, Knock

"Ah! Yes, who is it?!" Rarity asked from inside her work room, obviously having been completely absorbed in her work. A few seconds later the door opened, and Rarity took a step back.

"Oh, hello Choco, I take it you're the one they sent to help me?" Rarity asked, a bit worry coming through her voice, as she knew full well that he didn't like being in the Boutique, let alone spending time with the girly over the top mare that Rarity was.

"Yeah, but you have somepony waiting downstairs for you" Choco said flatly, wanting to distract Rarity so that he wouldn't have to spend too much time with her. Rarity gasped quickly and headed downstairs, a loud squeal coming from her as she saw who was waiting for her.

"Color Pallet, you made it!" Rarity said loudly, making Choco roll his eyes as he slowly walked down the stairs, "It's been too long sweetie"

"Same here Rarity" Color Pallet said, giving Rarity a hug, "Cousins should see each other more than we do". Cousin's, Choco thought, his head popping up at the mention that the wonderful mare he had seen before was related to Rarity.

"Will I be helping her today as well?" Choco asked from behind Rarity, getting both mares' attention.

"Well, yes, that's why I had asked they send one of the farmhands" Rarity said, as if Choco should have figured it out all by himself. He rolled his eyes as he walked towards Color Pallet, bowing down politely.

"How may I be of service my lady?" Choco said in his posh voice, making her laugh. Rarity gasped Color Pallet went down to lift him up, smiling at him happily.

"If you wait outside for a few minutes you'll find out" Color Pallet said, shooting a wink Rarity's way. Choco quickly made his way outside, almost floating as he did from the bliss he felt from being close to Color Pallet. It was as if Celestia had granted him a favor for something good he had done. What did he do to deserve spending his time with such a wonderful, and beautiful mare like her?

"How did you manage to make him act that way?" Rarity asked Color Pallet before she made her way outside.

"I have no idea, but I liked it" Color Pallet said cheerfully, giving one more hug to Rarity, "I'll come by when we're done for the day"

"I'll be here sweetheart" Rarity said happily before she made her way back to her work room. Color Pallet came outside a second later, giving Choco a sweet smile. She waved a hoof at him, beckoning for him to follow her, which he happily did, and ended up following her all the way across town to the Ponyville Express train station. When he looked around he saw nothing around that would require him, but he quickly figured out what was going on as the train pulled into the station.

SCREECH

"My things should be in car four" Color Pallet said as she walked along the platform, "Ah, here we are". When Choco looked up he saw the door to car four opening wide, filled with quite a few paintings and pieces of art wrapped in paper. His jaw dropped open as he tried to count the number of things in the car.

"Are these all yours...?" Choco said slowly, his jaw just about hitting the floor as the count inside his head hit double digits.

"Yeah, I have a lot of things" Color Pallet said in a slightly embarrassed way before walking ahead to look at Choco's face, "You'll carry them for me, right?". He felt something pull at his heart and he immediately pulled his jaw back up, trying to put on a brave face.

"Why of course my lady, show me where the cart is and I'll-" Choco began to say, looking around slowly to try and find the cart that would hold all the things in the car when Color Pallet walked up to him.

"Um, sorry, I didn't manage to rent a cart, so, you'll have to carry them on your back" Color Pallet said, pulling on his heart again.

"Oh by Celes..." Choco said before snapping to, "Of couse I'll carry them like that, it's my job!". Choco pulled a heroic pose before walking towards the cart, looking at them in confusion before one of them was picked up by blue magic. When he turned around he saw Color Pallet's horn glowing, and he knew what to do. He quickly turned back around and prepared to have the entire cart stacked on his back. After a few minutes of stacking he had only a quarter of the car on his back, and after Color Pallet had overseen the staff on the platform as they moved her stuff into their warehouse.

"Ok, now, let's head to Town Hall" Color Pallet said, smiling happily as Choco struggled to keep his balance. She noticed how hard he was trying to stay up and used her magic to lighten the load, and the two of them slowly made their way through town. Every now and then Choco would slip up and almost fall, but she always caught him before he hit the ground. He didn't know if it was because of the art, or if it was because of him, but he really hoped it was the latter...
