Chapter One : A Restless Night

Twilight Sparkle awoke with a sharp intake of breath, a dry scream stuck in her throat, unable to come out. The only thing that came out was a choked out 'Celestia.' A bead of sweat rolled off her forehead. She was terrified of something, but what?

She quickly surveyed her surroundings. Her bedroom was all she saw. Nothing out of the usual.

“I must have just had a very bad dream.” She thought.

She stood up and looked at the little green dragon sleeping in his basket at end of the room. Twilight stopped to watch his chest go up and down. She grinned slowly, then going to the door. She gave one last look at the sleeping dragon before exiting her bedroom.

The kitchen was dark and had a very stuffed air to it. She went over to the refrigerator and opened it. It was very empty.

“I´ll buy something when the sun dawns.” She thought.

Moving over to the sink, she turned it on and brought a glass down from a cupboard, bringing it under the tap. The glass filled quickly and she turned the water off. She brought the glass to her lips and took a big sip. The water was the perfect temperature for drinking.

“Wonderful.” She thought while taking another sip.

She sat down at the table, placing the glass on it and sinking her head into her hooves as she slowly drifted into thought.

“What was my dream? What did I dream of that made me scream out my teachers name?” She rubbed her head as she tried to wrap her mind around the thought.

She finally gave up, drank the last bit of water and left for her bed again. She lay down onto it and closed her eyes, when suddenly a face flashed in front of her. It was the face of a strange creature, and it had a serious look. It had had bright blue eyes and a black “mane” on its head. She opened her eyes more quickly than she thought she had ever done. She was sitting up and staring at the wall, her mind deep within thought.

She sat there for about five minutes until she slowly opened her mouth and spoke a few words she had never heard before. She spoke them like she was reading it out of a book, yet it was in her memory.

“Prepare for unforeseen consequences.”

Her face went blank as she thought of the words. The eerie feeling of magic was in the air, but she didn’t recognize it. It was a sort of dark presence. It didn’t make her afraid, but it made her feel very strange, like something was watching her.

She quickly looked around the room as paranoia kicked in. Her sight finally resting on the window. There was nothing there, but she felt the very strange feeling stronger when she looked at it. She stepped out of her bed and walked over to the window. Her eyes looked all around the landscape outside her window, until her sight finally rested on a weird figure in the distance down the road outside the window.

Her eyes inspected the creature, which was almost twice as tall as her. It wore some sort of blue tuxedo and had a briefcase in his right.. “Paw I guess?” She thought. She stopped breathing and her eyes went into a horror filled stare as she

recognized the creature. It was the creature from her dream!

“That can´t be right.” She whispered to herself.

She quickly turned around and ran out the door, with no respect for the sleeping dragon, but he didn’t seem to mind as he was still sleeping. She practically flew down the flight of stairs and charged out of her door, failing to notice she had left it open in her haste. The pebbles that made up the road crashed as she set her quickly ran over it. She followed the road around her house and stopped. She looked over the road and saw nothing. That eerie feeling in her mind popped up again.

She ran towards the place where the creature has stood and looked all around. The creature was standing a good forty meters from where she was standing, at the entrance to the Everfree Forest. At first it just stood there, looking at her. Then it turned around and slowly walked into the forest behind some trees.

Twilight ran to the entrance of the forest where the creature had stood just about ten seconds ago.  Every thought of her following it hit a brick wall as she was frozen in place at the entrance of the forest.

“I can´t enter the Everfree forest at night, that’s crazy. I could get killed!” She spoke out loud.

She let out sigh and turned around. She felt the sting of that weird feeling again, but she didn’t turn around. She kept walking at a slow pace. When she came to the door, the feeling disappeared, as if it had never been there in the first place. She looked paranoid over her shoulder as she entered the door and closed it behind her.

“I will send a message to Princess Celestia tomorrow. Asking if she knows anything about this mysterious creature.” She

thought as she trotted up the stairs to her bedroom.

She quickly glanced over to the small dragon in the basket, who was still sleeping sound as ever. She let out a relieved sigh and returned to her bed.

She awoke as sunbeams of Celestia´s sun danced across her face. She sat up and looked over to the basket. It was empty.

The smell of pancakes filled her nostrils. She slowly crawled her way out of the bed and stood on all four. The memories of last night filled her head, as if she had forgotten. Her thoughts lingered on the subject for a few moments until she pushed them out of her mind and made her way downstairs.

“Oh, good morning Twilight!” The dragon said excitingly.

“Good morning, Spike.” She said with a tired voice.

The overexcited dragon heard the tiredness in her voice and slowly asked.

“You seem tired, I mean more than usual.”

She thought about it for a moment whether to or not tell him about the events of yesterday. She quickly decided against it and said.

“I had a very bad dream last night, that’s all.”

“Do you remember it?” Spike asked cautiously.

She again questioned herself again whether to tell him, but her mind decided the same.

“No, it was just a blur, though I remember that it was terrifying. I woke up covered in sweat.” She said with her obvious lying voice.

Spike noticed but decided not to dig any deeper.

“Alright. I made some pancakes if you want. Their over there on the table. I also went shopping, since we were a little… under stocked.” He said.

“Very good, then I won´t have to. Thank you.” She said with relief in her voice that her lie worked, whether he was ignoring it or didn’t notice it she didn’t know.

“You welcome.” He responded.

She sat down and began to chew on her pancakes. As silence filled the air, her mind was brought back to last night. She was unable to rib her mind from it, it seemed. The sentence again flew across her mind. Prepare for unforeseen consequence. She wondered what the sentence meant. She knew what it meant, but what it REALLY meant.

She ripped herself out of her thoughts, quickly finished her meal and sent over to her desk. The desk was filled with quills, ink and empty scrolls. She pulled out one of each, dipped the quill in the ink and began to write.

Chapter Two : A Letter to Celestia

Dear Princess Celestia

I am writing to inform you that something strange happened to me last night. My dreams were being haunted by a strange creature. It had no kind of fur and its mane was very short. It also had bright, if not glowing blue eyes. I woke up in the middle of the night. I thought that it was a very bad dream, so i went downstairs and drank a glass of water. I went upstairs again and looked out the window, and there it was.

The creature from my dream was standing at the end of the road outside my window. It wore some sort of tuxedo, and was carrying a black suitcase.

I ran outside to the place where it stood, but it wasn't there. I again spotted it at the entrance to the Everfree Forest. It stood there for a while looking at me, then it turned around and walked into the forest. I didn't follow it though, knowing better than to walk through the Everfree Forest alone at night. I also think it said "Prepare for Unforeseen Consequences" in my dream.

I also felt a weird kind of magic during the entire night. It was unlike anything i have ever felt before. It almost felt like something was watching me, but not exactly.

"What are you writing?" Spike asked curiously

"Nothing, just a boring letter to the Princess." Twilight said with a hint of lie in her voice.

Spike noticed this, but he didn't want to upset her, as he remembered that when Twilight wanted to keep something secret, she really needed to.

"Alright, do you want me to send it?" He asked cautiously.

"Yes, thank you." She said with relief in her voice.

She rolled the scroll together and gave it to spike, who blew out a green flame that engulfed the scroll, sending it away,

He then trotted off and started to rearrange some books, leaving Twilight to think.

"Should i tell my friends? How would they react?" She thought

She broke herself from her thoughts and and trotted out the door.

The sunlight hit her face as she walked out from the shadow of her tree library. She stopped for a moment to enjoy it, but she then continued to walk.

Then, the strange feeling returned to her. She looked around, but spotted nothing. After the quick stop, she slowly returned to her normal walking speed. She glanced around her once every while, but could see nothing.

After a while of walking, she arrived at Sweet Apple Acres. She heard the sound of bucking in the background. She glanced around and saw Applejack bucking trees like she normally does. After standing there for a while thinking of what she should say, she walked over to her, who interrupted her bucking, wiping her forehead of sweat and said.

"Well shoot, if it isn' Twilight Sparkle. Do ya need somethin'?"  Applejack said with a reassuring smile and her usual southern accent.

"I actually wanted to talk to you about something. Have you ever seen a creature with no fur, and just walking on two legs ever in your life?" Twilight asked.

Applejack thought about it for a while, then said.

"Can' say that i have. Wha', have you seen somethin' like it?" Applejack asked.

"Yes. During the night I......" She told the whole story for Applejack.

A Few Minutes Later

"Ma', thats the strangest thin' I ever heard! Hav' ya' told the Princess yet?" Applejack said with a confused expression on her face.

"I wrote her a letter this morning." Twilight said.

"Maybe ya' should try talkin' to Fluttershy bout' it? It may be a just som' sorta animal." Applejack said.

"I don't think so. It wore expertly crafted clothing, from what i could tell." Twilight stated

"Well, i don' know anythin' bout no animal that fits that description" Applejack reassured her.

"Alright, i will go and talk with rarity, so you can get back to your bucking," Twilight said.

"You take care now, ya' hear?" Applejack said with a concerned expression.

"I will, thank you Applejack." Twilight said while slowly walking away.

Twilight again was left with her thoughts, going back to the memories. Her brain did its best to analyze it, but it just couldn't. Every time she tried, it just hit a wall. She had felt the weird feeling all morning. It slowly chewed up her insides and disturbed her when she tried to think of something else.

"What is this darn feeling i keep feeling? It feels like some sort of magic, but not entirely."

Her mind continued to wander as she turned around.

There, by a tree at the side of the road, the weird creature stood, looking at her, with the same blank neutral expression. Without hesitation, she ran towards it. The creature turned around slowly and walked behind the tree.

Twilight slid past the tree and looked behind it. Nothing was there. Was it possible that the creature teleported itself? She stepped over to the place where the creature had stood and tried to feel if there was magic in the air. The only thing she felt was the weird feeling she now could feel almost everywhere.

"I must get to the bottom of this" She thought

She ran quickly to her library and slammed open her door, making Spike fell off the ladder he was standing on.

"What's going on, Twilight?" He asked angrily.

"Spike, has the Princess returned my letter yet?" She asked with desperation in her voice.

"Yes, she did so this morning, right after you left." He said and pointed to her desk.

She used her magic to unravel the scroll and read it.

Dear Twilight Sparkle

I want you to come to Canterlot at once. We have things to discuss. Also bring the rest of the Elements. I have sent a carriage to take you to Canterlot. It will arrive during noon.

Princess Celestia

"Spike, gather the elements. Tell them to meet me here. This is very important." She ordered the little dragon.

"B-But Twilight..." He started

"Now, Spike!" She ordered.

Spike gave her a look and ran out the door.

Twilight slid down into her sofa with her mind deep within thought.

Meanwhile in Canterlot

"What do you mean cancel all appointments, Tia?" Luna asked with a shocked expression

"Luna, this is very important. We can't have anyone disturbing us." Celestia said with a serious face.

"But, Tia.." Luna began

"This cannot wait, dear sister. We have to talk to the elements in peace. They will be coming at noon." She said with an autocratic voice.

Luna hesitated, but then left the room. Celestia remained in the room alone.

"Why has he returned? Why has he contacted Twilight Sparkle? What can be so important to have 'him' contact her directly?"

Her mind was racing between thousands of questions, but had no answer to any of them.

She stood up and trotted over to the window, looking out. Memories filled her mind as she thought about the time before ponies. Before the green land she now lives in. The time when the land consisted of nothing but rocks and horrible creatures. Creatures so horrible that they would have scared even Discord.

She had not seen 'him' for more than five thousand years.

"Why would he return now?"  Her thoughts jumped around in her head.

Now, this are starting to heat up. None has guessed my Nationality yet, so keep trying. Anyway, i didn't really know how to type Applejacks southern accent, so i just did what i have seen others do. Also, continue to write critique to help me learn the language better than i already do. I also want to know if this is the correct way to type conversations. Chapter Three : An Explanation and a Tragedy

A frying pan lay on the stove with a pancake in. Lyra was making dinner.

"Is the dinner ready?" Bon Bon called out.

"Just a second, gotta make some finishing touches." Lyra yelled back

Lyra used her magic to take out two plates out of the cupboard above the sink, which she then proceeded to place on the table. She picked up the last pancake out of the frying pan putting it on a plate beside the stove.

She then lifted the frying pan into the sink and turned on the water. A quick puttering sound came as the cold water hit the hot frying pan. She scrubbed the frying pan off with some dishwashing liquid (Soap? Damn translating) and a scrubber.(washing-up brush!? How does this damn translator work?)

The frying pan magically flowed through the air and into a dish drying rack.

"Bon Bon, dinner is served!" She said as she scooped the pancakes over to the two plates.

A loud knock came from the door.

"I'll answer it!" Bon Bon yelled out.

She trotted over to the door and opened it. In the opening stood Mrs. Cake.

"Oh, Mrs. Cake, what brings you here?" She asked

"Hello Bon Bon, i hate to ask you this, but could you help me finish an order? Pinkie has gone out with her friends and you´re the only one i know with any advanced sort of baking skills." Mrs. Cake asked

"Oh, ehh.... Lyra, you don't mind do you?" Bon Bon asked apologetically

"Oh, not at all. I see this is important to you." Lyra said putting on a fake smile.

"Thanks a lot. I'll make it up to you, OK?" Bon Bon said with a faint smile

"Ok, your welcome." Lyra said

Bon Bon hurried out the door in pursuit behind Mrs. Cake and shut the door behind them.

Lyra hung her head down in disappointment.

She moved out into the kitchen again and put the pancakes on Bon Bon's plate into a plastic bag and putting the plate near the sink.

A sudden green light blinked several times behind her, with the sound of lightning.

She dropped the plastic bag on the floor and turned around. She scanned the kitchen but saw nothing. Her eyesight finally fell on the floor.

"Well hello there, little...... guy?" She started

A small creature stood on the floor. It appeared fleshy and not that dangerous. It turned to Lyra.

It suddenly Shrieked a terrifying sound and pounced towards Lyra.

A loud scream came from the house, before it quickly died down. No one was around to hear it.

Twilight stood waiting outside her tree library. The elements came running from all directions. They all reached Twilight at almost the same time.

As soon as they did, they started to bombard her with questions.

"What is it darling, is everything alright?" Rarity asked with a concerned tone.

"What in tarnation is so important that w'all have to come aroun in such a hurry?" Applejack said in an almost angry voice

"What is so important that you have to bother me during my sleep?" Rainbow Dash said although it was almost ten past noon

The only one that remained quiet was Fluttershy, who was hiding behind her hair as she usually does.

"I'm sure nothing is wrong, but the Princess demanded our immediate departure to Canterlot to tell us something that she simply can't say over letter." Twilight said with a reassuring tone

A loud sound came from the sky as a large carriage came flying down from the sky and landed in front of the elements.

A guard pony trotted wearing golden armor trotted over to the elements and ordered.

"Twilight Sparkle and the elements will board the carriage immediately." He said with a strong autocratic voice

Twilight nodded towards him and signaled the others to climb aboard.

When they all were aboard, the carriage picked up speed as it slowly rose from the ground, turned around and flew towards Canterlot in the distance.

"How long is the ride going to take darling?" Rarity asked

"It should only take about an hour." Twilight said

"I think all of this is pretty weird. Why would the Princess order us to the castle on such a short notice?" Rarity stated

"I bet its to give us cupcakes!" Pinkie Pie said with a huge grin

"I guess that i have to tell you, since shes going to talk about it anyway." Twilight said with a sad tone

Twilight told the other elements the whole story about what happened during last night, and the last encounter.

"It just doesn't make any sense. How could the creature talk to you in your dreams?" Rarity said with a confused tone.

"M-maybe its s-some sort of animal." Fluttershy spoke up after being silent during the whole trip.

"What if its some sort of alien?" Rainbow Dash said

"Come now, Rainbow. Aliens don't exist." Rarity said with a grin

They were halted in their conversation as the pegasus who was pulling the carriage shouted to them.

"Were coming up on the castle. Get your things ready."

They didn't have much with them. Only the basics, like some clothes and toothbrush.

The carriage landed on a large platform, next to the gargantuan Canterlot Castle.

Twilight never got tired of seeing the castle. It was so magnificent and giant. It almost made her forget why she was here.

A bit away, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna stood on top of the stairs leading to the castle.

Celestia smiled and greeted the elements.

"Welcome to Canterlot Castle. my little ponies." She said with a smile

"Celestia!" Twilight said loudly with a smile and ran towards her teacher, who braced herself.

They came together in a big hug, lasting several seconds. Twilight tried to regain her composure and backed away.

The other elements caught up with Twilight, and they all bowed.

"Rise." Celestia said with a strong motherly voice

"I don't mean to be rude Princess, but what is the reason for rushing us here?" Rarity asked

Celestia's smile disappeared, as she took on a more serious look.

"The reason i called you here, is because Equestria is in grave danger. Please, follow me." Celestia said

She turned around and began walking. Luna gave the elements a glance, then turned around and followed her sister.

The elements followed the Princesses, trotting slowly behind her. All of them had confused expressions on their faces as they looked at each other.

They walked for about five minutes until they reached a big, stone door. They must be several meters into the mountain, as they traveled several stairs on their way here. Celestia stopped and looked at the stone door, and then back to the elements.

"This is your last change to back out. After you enter this door, knowledge so horrible will stay in your memories forever." Celestia said and gave them a serious look

The elements looked at each other, then back to Celestia and they all nodded in unison.

Celestia bowed her head and pressed her horn into a keyhole. The door gave of a tired "Sigh" and slowly opened. Celestia motioned them to move forward. They passed Celestia and walked to the edge of the cliff they were standing on.

They all let out a loud "GASP" in unison, as their terror filled eyes trotted along what they were seeing.

Chapter Four : Out of the Ashes

"Lyra? Where are you? I wanted to say sorry about yesterday. I should not have left like that." Bon Bon called out

"Helloooo?" Bon Bon

Large footsteps came out of the kitchen.

Bon Bon entered the kitchen. What she saw froze her in place. There stood Lyra, with an open chest and some sort of small creature on her face.

"HRAAALP MHEE! AHHHH!" Lyra screamed

"Lyra! Oh my god, Lyra!" Bon Bon screamed with a scared tone

The creature walked over to Bon Bon and rose its right hoof who was now filled with claws.

Bon Bon screamed at the top of her lungs.

*SLASH*

"W-what is that Princess?" Fluttershy asked scared out of her mind

The chamber they found themselves was very large. It was easily much bigger than the throne room. The whole room looked like it was some sort of cave. At the bottom there were pointy spikes sticking up and at the bottom of them, very murky water. In this water lay a huge pile of bones.

"Those... Are the remains of Nihilanth. A giant very powerful creature. He was destroyed over five thousand years ago." Celestia said

"Why are you showing us this Princess?" Twilight asked with concern

"The man you saw. He is not an ordinary creature. Even i do not know what he is. If he has shown himself, it means that disaster is about to strike. Especially since he uttered the words "Prepare for Unforeseen Consequences"" Celestia said

"But what does it mean?" Twilight asked

"To know the future, means you have to know the past." Celestia said

The elements looked at each other with confusion.

"Five thousand years ago, Equestria didn't look anything like it does today. It was a world between dimensions. The creatures that inhabited Equestria during that time was grotesque and something you'd see in a nightmare. Equestria's name back then was "Xen". This creature below us ruled these creatures without pity. He enslaved them. That was until a man came along. His name was Gordon Freeman. He fought his way through "Xen" and killed Nihilanth to save his world, Earth who Nihilanth attacked."

"After this, Xen was placed in a sort of sleep, and remained like that for over two thousand years. That was until I and my sister found this world. We brought this world out from between the dimensions and made it livable. We populated it with the ponies you see here today, Earth, Pegasi and Unicorn."

"What happened to Earth?" Twilight asked

"We don't know. After Gordon Freeman returned to Earth, it cut all connections to Xen. We only knew what the creatures that occupied this world knew. We managed to extract some knowledge from the bones below us. That made us aware of Earth, Xen and Gordon Freeman. It didn't tell us much else." Celestia said

"So what has this got to do with this man?" Rainbow asked

"He was the one who warned us about Discord the first time, but we ignored his warning. You know what happened next." Celestia answered

"The time before and after you sent us the letter, I have felt strange magic. One which i first felt when we came to this world." Luna finally said after being quiet the entire time

"What does that mean?" Twilight asked

"It means that 'He' is here. But you already know this. As for the reason he is here, I still don't know." Celestia said

"Then what should we do?" Rarity asked

The room gave of a large "Sigh" as the color was pulled from the room.

"Time, Princess Celestia?" A mysterious voice came from nothing.

There he was, walking on nothing towards her. He stopped but a meter away from her.

"Is it really that.... time again? I realize this moment may not be the most convenient for a heart to heart, but i had to wait.. until your - friends - where otherwise occupied. Mhhh.... There was a time when this world's only experience of other life was a crowbar - coming at them down a steel corridor.. When i stopped them from coming.. I acted in the face of - that you was a mere child and of no practical use to anyone... I have learned to ignore such neigh sayers when - quelling them.. hmm? It as out of the question. Still.. I am not one to squander my - Investments - and i remain confident that you are worth far more than the initial - appraisal. Thats why i must - Extract - from you some small repayment - owed, for your own survival. See Twilight safely through this crisis.. Princess Celestia. I wish I could do more than keep an eye on you, but i have agreed to abide to certain - restrictions?"

He walked over to Twilight.  

"Well.. Now.. listen carefully my dear.... when find to your - H-hero.. - relay these words."

"The Others - are coming."

Color returned to the world. Celestia stared straight at Rarity. Her mind jumping from one topic to the other.

"Princess? Have i offended you somehow?" Rarity asked cautiously

"No, of course not" Celestia said, giving her a smile.

"Then what do we have to do?" Rarity repeated her question

"I think that only Twilight can decipher this clue, as he gave it to her. I think she only needed the knowledge I gave you to do so. I'm afraid I can't help you with this." Celestia replied.

"But, how can i do this? I can't possibly understand what his clue means." Twilight said

"I have my utmost faith in you Twilight. With the help of your friends, you will figure this out." Celestia said with a reassuring smile

Twilight smiled back, but wasn't very reassured.

"Sigh......"

Jericho held a teapot in his magic and pured some tee into a cup. He brought the cup to his mouth and took a large sip

"This is some great tee."

His coat was pale gray, with a leather duster on the upper part if his body. A hat was sitting proudly on his head.

He had a short mane, in a military fashion. He tried to take another sip, but the cup was empty. He turned around to refill it only to find out that the teapot also was empty.

"Damn." He said quiet

He was insanely bored. His house was in perfect order, everything was where it was supposed to be.

"Screw it.. I'll just go for a walk."

He trotted over to the door and opened it, looking out into the afternoon sun. He closed the door behind him and started walking down the road, letting his mind wander. He passed several houses. Nothing was out of the ordinary, which he secretly hoped for.

A sudden scream came from one of the buildings. He stopped and looked towards it. It was Lyra's and Bon Bon's house.

He rushed up to the door and slammed it open.

"Is anybody in need of assistance? Hello?"

He walked up the main corridor, towards the stair. When he passed one of the doors, he felt something wet on his hoof. He looked down and saw a large puddle of blood that had poured from under the door.

"This can't be good."

Chapter Five : And into the Frying Pan

He slowly pushed the door open, revealing the dead body of Bon Bon lying on her side with a large pool of blood around her. He flinched and looked down at the dead corpse. The smell was gruesome. Something he would never want to ever smell again.

"Lyra, are you here?" He asked

A scratching sound was heard from the far corner.  His eyes skimmed over the room. It was very dark. The scratching sound was still heard.

"Lyra? Is that you?"

A he saw the outlines of a pony standing up in the corner. It turned and started walking towards him.

He took up a battle stance and stared at the pony. The pony was lit up by afternoon sun through the window.

What he saw.... was a monstrosity. On its teal head sat a fleshy crab looking creature, with the upper part stabbed straight through by the pony's horn The underside of the pony hang open with some various organs hanging out. The hooves had long fleshy claws out in all directions.

"GUUURGLR!" The thing made gurgling noises

"Woah!" Jericho jumped back at the sight of this thing

Looking around, he saw a set of kitchen knives beside the sink. He focused his magic and pulled the knives out of the protective knife rest. Quickly sending two of the five knives flying towards the monster. One of them jamming into the side of the jaw, making it scream in pain. The other flew out the kitchen window, breaking it.

The monster started slowly walking towards him. He moved the knives into a triangle around the monster's head, then sending them flying all at once.

*STAB*

The knives had impaled the head of it, one of them square through the... Headcrab?. The monster began to wobble, then fell to the side, hitting its head on the sink, knocking off the headcrab. The pony lay there on the floor with the headcrab beside it. Jericho jumped at the sight. Its skull and brain in full view. He looked back at its cutiemark. It was a lyre. It hit him like a train.

"Oh My God! Lyra!"

He went pale. His mind trying to plow over the thought that he had just killed one of his best friends, who in turn had killed one of his other friends. He lay down, looking at the floor. His eyes started watering. Tears began falling. He lay on the floor for a few minutes weeping. He suddenly stood up, wiped his eyes and ran outside. He didn't know who to tell. There were a few ponies walking about, minding their own business until he screamed out.

"Lyra and Bon Bon are dead!" His tears causing a flood on the ground below him.

Twilight was laying on her bed in her temporary room. Her mind was set on figuring out the clue the man with the blue suit had left them.

"Prepare for unforeseen consequences. What is is supposed to mean?"

"Consequences.... Does it mean that we are going to do something that will have some devastating consequences?"

A loud knocking came from the door. She went and opened it, and outside stood a royal guard with a neutral expression.

"Princess Celestia has requested that you go to the throne room." He said, still wearing the neutral expression.

"Thank you, I will go there immediately." Twilight responded

"Your welcome, Ma'am." He said, then trotting off in the corridor.

She closed the door and walked over to the mirror. Using a quick spell, she straightened out her mane, then leaving for the door. She closed the door and walked out into the endless maze of corridors.

Jericho was sitting in a carriage flying towards Canterlot Castle. His eyes had dried up, but were bloodshot. He was almost suffering a mental breakdown. His mind replaying the event over and over again. He could see the knives tearing into Lyra's head. His eyes were watering up again, but he blinked away the tears. He had his head in his hooves.

His head jerked upwards as the carriage stopped. He hadn't even noticed that they were in Canterlot already. He stood reluctantly up on his hooves and hopped out of the carriage.

A squad of royal guards surrounded him. Four of them, forming a square around him. He walked up the steps towards the throne room.

The elements were gathered in the throne room.

"What do you mean there is someone with some sad news, Princess?" Twilight asked

"He should be arriving sho..." Celestia was interrupted as the doors to the throne room was opened.

A squad came walking with a gray colt in the middle. The elements realized who it was and ran forward to him. He looked up and focused his sight onto the elements eyes. They saw that his were bloodshot and red. Probably from crying.

"What has happened, darling?" Rarity asked

He inhaled a large portion of air and began to speak.

"Bon Bon and Lyra.... They are...." He couldn't bring himself to say the final word, but the elements seemed to understand. They brought their eyes to the floor. Pinkie's mane had lost its fluffiness and was hanging straight down. Her eyes fixed on the floor. Tears ran down her face.

Princess Celestia walked down from her throne and over to the weeping ponies. She hugged each and everyone of them in order. She then said.

"Do not fret, my little ponies. They are in a better place now."

After a while, all the elements had excused themselves, except Twilight, who was comforting Jericho, as he told her what had happened.

"Thats horrible." Twilight said with pity while he was explaining the creature.

Celestia has been listening in during the entire time.

"What did you say the creature on her head looked like?" Celestia suddenly asked

"It-t.. Was sort of fleshy. I don't know why but it reminded me of a crab. It had four legs, but no head." Jericho answered

"Is it what i think it is, Princess?" Twilight asked

"It is, Twilight. A creature of Xen. It is a parasite with the ability to take over bodies of other beings." Celestia answered

"What do you mean "Xen"?" Jericho looked up and asked

"Twilight will tell you. Guard!" She ordered

Instantly, two guards came up beside her.

"Lead this gentlecolt (Gentlemen?) to one of the spare guest rooms."

The guards walked over to Jericho.

Jericho just nodded and started following them, with Twilight at his flank.

The walk there was quiet. Jericho had stopped crying. His head hanged low as his mind raced through the memories of this scary day he was experiencing.

They reached the room.

"Here we are. Have a good night," The guards said and left

Jericho pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was circular and was lit by magical lanterns hanging around the room.

"Are you going to be alright?" Twilight asked

He jumped as he had forgot that he was being accompanied by Twilight.

"Y-yeah... I'll be fine." He answered back

"I will return in the morning, when you are rested." She said.

He quickly closed the door rudely, but Twilight understood that he wanted to be alone.

She walked off into the corridor, her mind being once again set hard on the clue.

He however threw himself onto the bed. His memories were going berserk. Flashes of Bon Bon and Lyra's faces bounced around in his head. He felt the tears resurfacing again and started to roll down his cheeks.

"Life will never be the same." He said out loud.

Sorry for taking such a long time. Ive been combating sleep lately. Playing all night with friends are a pain in the flank when trying to get back into your sleep cycles. Mainly because i have school tomorrow xD

Chapter Six : Dawn of a new age

A/U Just a notice. I will be throwing out some of Jericho's traits, such as hating Celestia. If you have read Crushric's fic, then THROW EVERYTHING OUT THE WINDOW.

It was late morning. Fluttershy was standing outside Twilight's room.

Hello? Um.. Twilight? Flutteshy asked, knocking on Twilight's door.

She heard hoofsteps inside. The door's locking mechanism clicked and the door began to slowly open. It revealed a sleep deprived Twilight. Her bloodshot eyes tiredly looking over Fluttershy.

"Oh, hello Fluttershy." She said, forcing on a smile

"Hey Twilight. I um... Wanted to ask you if, um... you needed some help?" Fluttershy forced out

"I really don't know if you could help me. Ive been awake all night, trying to figure out this question. My mind has come up with no answers at all." Twilight said frustratingly

"Maybe.. You should have something to eat." Fluttershy said and put on a big smile.

"You know what? I think i do." Twilight said and walked out the door

She straightened out her mane with quick spell while walking besides Fluttershy.

They entered the dinner hall. Around the table sat Applejack and Rarity. Pinkie Pie was nowhere to be seen.

"Oh darling! Have you been up all night again?" Rarity asked

"Yeah... I guess i have. I have been trying to figure out this bucking clue." Twilight said with anger

"Ah know its hard, but that doesn't mean ya gotta curse." Applejack said with a grin

"Uhhh, I'm just so frustrated! The clue could mean anything. Literally anything!" Twilight said

Applejack was just about to say something when they heard hoofsteps coming from the door. A tired stallion revealed himself. He walked straight past Twilight and sat down at the table Rarity and Applejack sat around. He sighted heavily, hanging his head down.

"Oh darling, don't feel bad. There wasn't anything you could have done." Rarity said with a reassuring smile

He looked over at Rarity with a sad expression and began to form sentences.

"I... I know. But I feel so bad. Two of my best friends are dead." He said, tears starting to form in his eyes.

At this moment, Princess Celestia walked in the door. She watched Jericho sitting at the table.

"They are in a much better place now. They are now laughing with their relatives in the afterlife." Celestia said with a smile

Even though he still felt very sad, he stopped crying and lightened up a little bit by with that remark.

"Thank you Celestia. I needed that." Jericho said putting on a smile

"Don't mention it." Celestia smiled at him

The room was quiet for a long while with Celestia and Jericho looking on each other with a smile on their face. For a moment, Twilight thought he was going to run up and hug her. This is exactly what happened.

Jericho ran up to Celestia, burrowing his face in her coat. Celestia wrapped her wings around him and embracing him. This continued for a few moments until they parted. He had a big smile on his face now. Then he turned to Twilight.

"I think its time that we tell each other what has happened." He said

They all sat down around the table, except for Celestia, who had to excuse herself as she had royal duties to attend to.

Twilight and Jericho told each other their stories while Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy listened intensively. During this time, some food arrived which they ate during the conversation. It was late noon. Fully satisfied with the meal, Twilight turned to Jericho.

"Hey, could you come to my quarters? I have some questions for you." She asked

"Uh.. Sure." He responded

They walked off into the maze of corridors. Jericho didn't know his way around so he just followed Twilight. She noticed he was still hung down.

"Are you okay?"

"Yea.... No.. No I'm not... I feel like crap."

"I'm so sorry this happened. It shouldn't have. It was my fault." He said

"No, its not your fault. You couldn't have done anything." She said reassuringly

He stopped and turned to Twilight, looking into her eyes. She could see that forms were once again forming in his eyes. She put her front legs around him in a tight hug. She could feel the tears hitting her coat on her back. He suddenly pushed her away and pressed his lips onto hers.

She was really shocked, but she couldn't say she didn't want it. She had loved him for some time before this.

"My Celestia! This is my first kiss!" She thought

"Why did I do that? Why haven't i shoved her away? Is it because.... Maybe... I want this?" His thoughts bounced around in his head.

After a long while they broke the kiss. They simply stood there and stared into each others eyes. A smile crept onto her mouth. He couldn't help but give back a smile. She turned to the side and started walking again, with Jericho tight behind her. They were silent for the rest of the walk. Both their minds focused on the kiss they shared so intimately a few minutes ago. They reached Twilights door. She opened it with her magic and walked in. Jericho followed short. She stopped further in the room and looked back at Jericho. She had a smile on her face. Jericho walked over to her and planted his lips on hers, then they both collapsed on her bed.

-----------------------------------------The next day in the royal dinner hall-----------------------------

"It isn't like Twilight to be late. I wonder what happened after they left us yesterday." Rarity said with a grin

"Rarity, am sure that didn't happen." Applejack shot back with a hidden smile

"That what happened, they made cupcakes?" Pinkie was bouncing up and down with the giant trademark pinkie smile

"Ehh.. Nothing darling. I say, where is that breakfast?" Rarity asked no one

Right as she said that sentence, the door to the kitchen opened and out came a mare with several plates hovering above her. She walked over to the table and placed the different plates in front of the the group, then went a head and opened the lid, revealing the beautifully made breakfast. The lids floated behind her as she left into the kitchen once more.

"My, this looks delicious!" Rarity said

"What's the matter Rainbow, ya have been awfully quiet during our entire conversation." Applejack asked the blue pegasus who was in a world of her own.

Rainbow shook her head to clear it and asked.

"What? Did you say something?"

"Is there something troublin' ya, because ya have been awfully quiet?" Applejack asked

"No, its just that.... I can't believe that Twilight got a coltfriend before me!" She said with a grin

"Rainbow, we don't even know what happened yeste....." Rarity was interrupted because of the door to the corridor opened up and revealed Twilight with a giant smile on her face

"Alright, I guess we can safely that something did happen." Rarity said

Twilight ignored her and walked over to the table and began eating her breakfast. All the other mares stared at her, waiting for an explanation....

Twilight looked up and saw all her friends staring at her with expressions saying "Tell. Us. NOW." She cleared her throat and began speaking.

"Alright, I guess I should say what happened yesterday."

She told them about everything, but leaving out the fact that they...... you know...did That.

"I have to congratulate you, darling. I didn't think that you would get a coltfriend before Rainbow." Rarity said, directing a grin towards Rainbow.

"Neither did I..." Rainbow finally said with a bit of sadness after being quiet for a long time

I know that i have not updated for a while, but i do feel that i don't need to justify myself. I have always had a "black mesa source view" on doing things. Meaning that I will release it when its done. Besides, i'm working on a different fic at the moment. This was never meant to be my flagship. As for a teaser for it.
