The new changeling generation
Chapter 1: A new changeling
The doorknob was enveloped in a lavender aura as Twilight Sparkle stepped out of the library. It was 2 weeks after the changeling invasion and Twilight was still having horrible nightmares about them. She gave it serious thoughts and decided to talk to her friends about this.

“Don’t worry, dear. I’m pretty sure there is nothing wrong with you. It was your brother who was taken over. Of course you will be more sensitive about this,” Rarity comforted Twilight. “Thanks, but it’s TWO WEEKS since the invasion, you guys. TWO WEEKS!” Twilight yelled, her tone rising with every word, before she laid back into the cooling water of the spa.
“Loosen up, Twilight. It’s not like you’re a changeling or anything,” Rainbow Dash said, rising into the air with a few lazy flaps of her wings. “Rainbow’s right, sugarcube. Don’t fret over it so much. Besides, you ain’t gonna go around turning into anypony you want to,” Applejack said, closing her eyes and sinking deeper into the water. “Yeah! I would never want to be one of those bald-headed brutes!” Rainbow exclaimed before she pulled a face of disgust. “ But Rainbow! Think of how many ponies we could prank like that!” Pinkie Pie screeched with delight. “Well… That would be fun, but I still don’t wanna be one of those brainless imps,” Rainbow said, pulling her head closer to her chest.
“AAAAAAA!!!!!” screeched Fluttershy, jumping into the air and leaping behind Rarity. “What is it, Fluttersh….. Twilight?” Rarity trailed off. Twilight looked at Rainbow Dash, who just stared at her with her jaw dropping. “What?” Twilight asked, immediately regretting that decision. Her voice was way too rash to be hers. She look at her head, only to find her horn missing. She stood up, and felt her sides heavier than usual. She looked at the side, only to find two folded cyan blue wings. She let her eyes travel to her flank, only to find a cloud with a rainbow coloured lightning. “No. way. This is not possible!” Twilight said as she stared at an exact replica of Rainbow Dash in the mirror. “Twilight? Are you alright?” Applejack asked, her voice tinged with concern.. She just stared. Suddenly, a lavender burst of energy enveloped her Twilight never responded, and the weight of the wings was replaced by a hat atop her head. Applejack calmly back away and said, “Stop it, Twilight, stop.” Another bust of lavender energy and the hat was replaced with a pinkish curl obstructing half of her vision. The pinkie replica sank to the floor of the spa, clutching her head and quivering. “Twilight?” Rarity started. “Leave me be, Rarity,” Twilight said, covering her head with her hooves.

“Twilight! You’re home! Finally! I was getting lonely all alone in here,” Spike said, immediately perking up. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion when Twilight didn’t respond. She didn’t even bother to look up. She just walked to her bedroom, with a worried Spike running after her, running into the room just in time before his tail go pinched between the closing door and the wall. “What’s wrong, Twilight? I’ve never seen you so worried before,” he asked the shaking figure under the covers. “S-Spike? Can you… write a letter to the princess? Now?” she asked. Knowing something wasn’t quite right, the baby dragon ran over to the desk and grabbed a quill and parchment paper, “Of course.”
“My dearest teacher,
I have been having horrible nightmares of changelings ever since the changeling invasion two weeks ago. Although my friends are telling me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with me, I still feel like something is amiss. And the nightmares are not all that has happened to me. When I went to the spa earlier today to talk to my friends about this issue, I realised that…. That I have inherited the characteristics of changelings. I started to transform……”
Before Twilight could finish reciting her note to the princess, her hooves gave way and she collapsed to the ground. “I DON’T WANT TO BE A CHANGELING! I AM NOT A CHANGELING! I WILL NEVER BE A CHANGELING!” Twilight screamed, putting Spike in a state of shock, causing him to start hiccupping. The half-written letter was engulfed in green flames and was gone. “NO! I AM NOT A CHANGELING! AND I WILL NEVER EVER BE ONE! I DON’T WANT TO GO THROUGH THIS ANYMORE! I JUST WANT TO BE MYSELF! JUST LET ME BE MYSELF!” Twilight cried. The flames that surrounded Twilight were all too familiar….

The pony in the mirror was an unknown pony to Twilight Sparkle. “No….. This can’t be real… It just can’t!” she cried again, until she collapsed into a pathetic heap on the floor. “Twilight?” Spike cautiously whispered. “Get out of here, Spike.”
“But…”
“I SAID GET OUT!”
And before the little purple dragon knew it, he was enveloped in lavender magic and blasted downstairs.
