A Little Piece of Heaven
Chapter 3: Dashfire
Previous Chapter Next ChapterSpitfire weaved expertly between her teammates. Over Fleetfoot, under Soarin', and then she took a sharp turn and flew directly up into the sky. As she began to spin the rest of her team followed suit and met at the top of her flight. They met in the middle for a quick squad-wide bro-hoof before diving and sweeping low over the crowd to finish their show. Spitfire took extra care to ensure that her path went directly over a cyan coated pegasus who had been watching her very intently through the entire show. After they wrapped up their set the team flew away from the arena in formation. As they landed in front of their locker room Soarin' pulled Spitfire aside.
"Spitfire, something's different about you and I want to know what it is. You haven't been this happy and energetic since the day you first joined the Wonderbolts." Spitfire blushed.
"You'll see after we get cleaned up if you stick around."
Soarin' wasn't sure what to think, but he trusted his friend. After they got done undressing and showering Spitfire told Soarin' to wait to leave until shortly after she did. Soarin' obliged, his curiosity only increased.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rainbow Dash sat on the roof just above the Wonderbolt's dressing room. The dressing room for the stadium they had just held their performance was detached from the stadium itself, making it a perfect ambush point. She watched as the Wonderbolts left one by one until the mare she was waiting for stepped out. Rainbow immediately jumped off the roof of the dressing room and tackled Spitfire. The two mares laughed as they wrestled in the grass. After a brief period of play their lips met in unbridled passion. It was at the end of this brief period that Soarin' stepped out of the dressing room in shock of the spectacle before him.
"Umm...perhaps I should-"
"Soarin', you remember Rainbow Dash right? She saved your pie back at the Gala last year."
Soarin' thought back.
"Yeah, I remember."
Spitfire smiled.
"Then I guess all that's left to say is that she's my marefriend."
Rainbow lowered her head and pawed sheepishly pawed at the ground.
"I thought you didn't want your teammates to know about...well...us." Rainbow didn't lift her head. Spitfire leaned against her.
"Soarin's not just a teammate. He's my oldest friend. I want him to know. Telling him won't be any different than telling your friends in Ponyville."
"My friends knowing won't risk your job. They can all keep a secret. Well, except for Twi and Rarity, but they won't do you any harm."
Spitfire envied how tight knit the small circle of friends was. She wished she had friends like that. Her teammates on the Wonderbolts were all her friends, but despite the amount of time the team spent together they weren't nearly as close as the six mares in Ponyville she was getting to know.
"Spitfire, you know that I don't care about this, but if coach finds out-" Soarin' began.
"I'll be asked if I want her or my job, I know. That's why I'm trusting you to keep this a secret, alright?"
Soarin' shifted. As much as he respected his coach, his loyalty to his friends surpassed his loyalty to the team. Especially when it meant Spitfire could finally be happy with somepony. He smiled at his friend.
"Your secret is safe with me, Spitty." Spitfire cringed. She had hoped Rainbow would never hear that nickname.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rainbow was rolling on the floor of her home. Tears were streaming down her face. And her laughter would not cease.
"You seriously spit on your coach the first time you saw him?! Oh, that's AWESOME!"
"It was an accident! I was nervous and when I talked I kinda sprayed. It was completely normal!"
Rainbow laughed harder.
"Whatever you say Spitty. Whatever you say."
"Yeah yeah, laugh all you want Rainbow Crash." Rainbow stopped laughing. She looked at the floor. A single tear escaped her right eye.
Spitfire was terribly confused.
"What's wrong Rainbow?" Spitfire sat close to her marefriend.
"I...haven't heard that nickname in a long time. Not since..." Rainbow drifted off. She leaned into her marefriend. "It shouldn't bother me, I got over that a long time ago."
"Got over what?" Spitfire still couldn't make sense of what Rainbow was saying. Rainbow looked up. She wasn't teary eyed anymore.
"Not since my last coltfriend." Spitfire's heart sunk. Rainbow didn't have feelings for her ex coltfriend did she? Spitfire decided to play it out.
"What was his name?"
"Sky Scraper."
"How long ago was it that you two were together?"
"It was my sophomore year of high school." Spitfire was now incredibly confused. Why was Rainbow bothered by a colt from so long ago?
"Why'd you two break up?" Rainbow sighed.
"I didn't give him something he wanted, so he took it from me." Now things were beginning to make sense to Spitfire. She hoped like nothing else that her suspicions were unfounded, but she had to make sure.
"What did he take from you?"
Rainbow sighed. She knew she would inevitably have to tell Spitfire about this sooner or later. She had just hoped to delay it for a while. It appeared that would not happen.
"My virginity."
Spitfire gasped. She had no idea that Rainbow was a rape victim. She reflexively wrapped a wing around Rainbow.
"Rainbow, I'm so sorry! I had no idea that-"
Rainbow laughed and nuzzled her marefriend.
"It's alright Spitfire, I've had time to move on. It usually doesn't bother me anymore. It was a part of what made me the mare I am today. I like the mare I am today."
Spitfire smiled at Rainbow.
"Well, then there's no need to press the issue then." Spitfire stood.
"Where you going?" Rainbow didn't want Spitfire to leave.
"The kitchen. Somepony's gotta figure out how to make something edible out of the crap you've got in your fridge."
Rainbow laughed and kissed her marefriend.
"In that case you're going to need some help. I'm not always sure what's good and what's spoiled in there." The two mares walked to happily to the kitchen, playfully shoving each other the entire way.
It turned out that Rainbow Dash had enough edible food in her fridge to allow for the creation of a decent meal. Not Spitfire's best by any means, but it was safe to eat. Before making dinner Spitfire had made sure to throw out every item of spoiled food that Rainbow had left in her fridge. Although it appalled Spitfire that anypony would allow her fridge to become such a disgusting mess, she wasn't surprised. This was Rainbow Dash. The mare had only started organizing her home ever since she started dating Spitfire. She only even did that because Spitfire didn't leave her with a choice. Spitfire gladly would have cleaned the entire house herself if Rainbow didn't help. Rainbow wouldn't have cared about that if it weren't for the fact that Spitfire threatened to throw out all of Rainbow's Wonderbolts paraphernalia if she didn't help. Rainbow wasn't about to see 4000 bits worth of obsessive love for her lifelong heroes be tossed out for ANYTHING, even if she was dating one of them.
After dinner the two mares curled up on Rainbow's bed. Each mare lost herself in her lover's embrace. It was as if the rest of the world didn't exist. It wasn't long before each mare fell into a deep sleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was still dark when Rainbow woke. The first thing she noticed upon leaving her sleep was the warmth of her marefriend next to her. The second thing she noticed was her immense need to relieve herself. Without a second thought she jumped out of Spitfire's embrace and galloped to her bathroom. Spitfire yelped and fell out of bed.
"RAINBOW?! WHAT THE HAY WAS THAT?!"
"Sorry Spitfire, when a mare's gotta go a mare's gotta go." Spitfire rolled her eyes and climbed back into bed. One of these days I'll work some manners into her. Spitfire knew in the back of her mind that any attempt to civilize her marefriend would likely be in vain, but she was going to try anyway. After a few minutes Rainbow returned with a relaxed grin on her face.
"Nothing like the relief of urination."
Spitfire resisted the urge to cringe.
"Rainbow, I really don't want to hear about that. And you could've been a little kinder about getting out of bed. I was in the middle of an amazing dream." Spitfire had truly been having a wonderful dream. About Rainbow Dash. She hoped Rainbow wouldn't ask what it was about.
"Oh yeah? What about?"
Spitfire then resisted the urge to facehoof. A blush formed on her cheeks.
"Umm..."
"No need to be bashful, do what you do best and spit it out!"
Spitfire failed to resist the urge to facehoof at that.
"You're never going to let that go are you?"
"Not a chance Spitty. Now spit some information at me."
Spitfire proceeded to spit in Rainbow's face. Rainbow wiped her forehead with a hoof.
"Although crudely delivered, that was quite the witty response. Now tell me what the dream was about."
Spitfire felt her face flush.
"You." She muttered almost inaudibly. Rainbow smiled and kissed her marefriend.
"Then why didn't you want to wake up to me? The real me is way cooler than dream world me."
"I don't know...dream world you is a lot more mature than real you."
"Maturity is overrated. Immaturity is way more fun. Besides, dream me can't do this." Rainbow pushed Spitfire onto her back and planted herself in a questionable position on Spitfire's midsection. She leaned down and pressed her lips against Spitfire's. The two mares tongues began to gently dance with one another. After a long while Rainbow pulled away.
"You're right, dream you can't do that." Spitfire acknowledged. "But perhaps we could wait until morning to make out? I'm a little tired right now."
Rainbow sighed.
"Fine, be a party pooper." She flopped back down in bed and curled up with Spitfire. "But come tomorrow I'm going to take that tongue of yours for a ride like never before."
"I'm gonna hold you to that." Spitfire smiled as she closed her eyes. Rainbow gave her one last kiss before the two mares again drifted back to sleep. Next Chapter: First Time for Everything Estimated time remaining: 59 Minutes
