Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A Scoot Left Behind
Previous Chapter"Come on Scootaloo, pick up the pace!" Applebloom said cheerfully as she ran down the road, Sweetie Belle flying just above her. Scootaloo looked up at the two of them and sighed before speeding up a tiny bit. Why were her friends so lucky, getting to do magic and fly, and all she could do was walk, like a normal pony. Scootaloo hated it. She had always wanted to fly next to Rainbow Dash, her idol, and get to see all the wonders of the world from high up in the clouds, and now...
"Cheer up Scoots, we can still try and get our cutie marks even if we're like this" Sweetie Belle said happily as she floated in front of Scootaloo, unintentionally blowing dust into her face. Scootaloo grunted and turned around, quickly being blocked off by Sweetie Belle.
"Where are you going?" Sweetie Belle asked innocently, but to Scootaloo it was an interrogation.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Scootaloo shouted, pushing Sweetie Belle away as she did before running away towards Sugar Cube Corner. As she ran she came up with a plan to reverse all of this, so she could get her wings back from Sweetie Belle and things would go back to normal. All she had to do was find that Unicorn and she could fix things, right? Sadly, things weren't going to be that easy for Scootaloo. When she got to Sugar Cube Corner she saw no sign of the Unicorn, which made her want to break down and cry, right then and there, until...
"What are you doing?" a familiar voice asked from inside the bakery, making Scootaloo snap out of her sadness and head inside. When she got inside she saw the Unicorn, this time accompanied by a Pegasus who was looking at her in a funny way.
"What, does this voice annoy you my dear?" the stallion asked in a way that sounded similar to how Princess Luna spoke, "I was not aware this was an irritant for you"
"Stop it or I'm leavi-" the Unicorn said in a somewhat angry tone of voice, but was cut off as the stallion jumped to the ground in front of her.
"Please no, don't leave me, I love you!" the stallion cried, pulling on one of the mare's hooves, making her try to hold back a laugh.
"I was going to say, 'or I'm leaving to go home', why would I leave you over something like that?" the mare laughed, making the stallion blush deeply as he got back to his chair. He looked at the ground for a few seconds before looking back up, noticing Scootaloo standing behind the mare.
"Uh, muffin, isn't that one of the fillies from earlier?" the stallion asked, pointing at Scootaloo, who shied away from the pair. The Unicorn turned around and looked at Scootaloo and noticed her sad look. The stallion got out of his chair, getting the feeling that something was off, and walked towards Scootaloo.
"Is everything okay?" the stallion asked as he knelt down in front her, looking towards her face. Scootaloo tried to shy away, but eventually looked into his eyes, feeling oddly comforted by it. She smiled slowly, but then the Unicorn walked over behind him.
"Did you learn your lesson?" the mare asked, giving Scootaloo a stern look.
"What are you talking about?" the stallion asked, standing up to look the Unicorn in the face. She quickly pulled him away and explained everything to him, and as she finished he looked at her in surprise.
"Why would you do that Pallet?" the stallion asked, giving her a worried look.
"They hit me with a cart Choco, they deserved it!" the mare said in an annoyed voice, pouting afterwards. The stallion quickly facehoofed and then pulled the mare into a hug, whispering something into her ear. When he pulled back he gave her a quick kiss, and then they walked over to Scootaloo together.
"Come on, let's get this thing sorted out" the stallion said cheerfully, extending a hoof towards Scootaloo, which she took tentatively. As they left the bakery he pulled Scootaloo up and put her on his back, which made her smile. It has been a long time since she's been treated this way by somepony bigger than her, and she didn't mind being treated like a baby for right now...

"What made her so mad?" Sweetie Belle asked as she watched Scootaloo run away. Applebloom walked over slowly, watching as Scootaloo turned a corner, leaving the two of them alone for good.
"I don't know, maybe she isn't feeling good" Applebloom said, using her magic to help Sweetie Belle up off the ground. After Sweetie Belle nodded her thank you the two of them continued walking through the town, trying to think of someway to earn their cutie marks with their new abilities.
"What if I tried to fly really fast and do a sonic rainboom, maybe it'll give us cutie marks like it did for our sisters" Sweetie Belle said carefully, being carefully to explain herself correctly.
"Maybe, but what would I be doing?" Applebloom asked, looking at Sweetie Belle in confusion.
"Maybe harvesting apples with your magic" Sweetie Belle said as the orchard came into view, the glistening red apples shining in the sunlight.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, let's do that!" Applebloom said happily. The two of them ran towards the orchard happily laughing as they started thinking of ways to do what they had set out to do. Sweetie Belle was planning to go up as far as she could then fly down really fast, and then level out, hopefully picking up enough speed to break the sound barrier. Applebloom was planning to try harvesting all of the apples at once, putting them all into barrels perfectly.
As the afternoon went on they continued to try and get their cutie marks, doing what they had decided on in weird and abstract ways until almost three hours had passed. They eventually gave up and grouped up to continue coming up with ideas.
"Scootaloo, we planned to-" Sweetie Belle said before remembering that Scootaloo had run away from her earlier.
"She's not here Sweetie Belle, it's her loss" Applebloom said sadly, not wanting to admit it, but if Scootaloo wasn't going to be there then she wouldn't get her cutie mark with her friends. The two of them continued to come up with ideas, the thought of getting their cutie marks without Scootaloo stuck in the back of their minds...
