Rainbow Dash hovered in the waiting room, tail flicking impatiently. Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were all standing somewhere around the tiny room. Each was thinking differently, taking the problem in different strides.

'Maybe, if it's alive, it'll be a good flier. I haven't raced someone in ages.'

'Ah hope it's healthy... poor Fluttershy would be devastated if it was dead...'

'It better not be an ugly pony with that much dragon blood in it...'

'GASSSSPPPPP I'LL GET TO THROW A BABY SHOWER!!!!!'

'I bet I'll be the first to record a dragon-pony crossbreed!'

'There was another dragon here and nobody told me?'

'I hope the griffons don't attack Equestria because of this...'

'I hope the griffons overthrow my sister and let me be the leader!'

Of course, it's pretty easy to distinguish them.

The doctor, a black stallion with a wild white mane, stepped out of the operating room. He was instantly met by eight curious, worried stares and one 'I'm going to take over the world' face. He used one hoof to push back his unruly mane.

"I have good news and I have bad news."

"Good news, please!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"The foal is alive."

The ponies and Princesses exchanged worried glances. "What's the bad news?"

"I broke my watch." The doctor smiled as they all relaxed. "Do you want to come in and see her?"

Slowly, all of the assembled animals filed in the room. Fluttershy rolled over in the bed, a huge smile on her face.

"It's alive." She seemed to glow. "My foal is alive."
