---- Sisterly Tales in the Lantern’s Glow ----

Against the soft-spoken light that is cast from the lantern, one always find themselves expressing their minds in soft whispers.

The midnight blue pony unfurled her wings and cast herself from the top of the tower.  The city of Canterlot stretched below her as she glided overhead.  To anypony who had looked up, they would have seen her form outlined for a brief moment by the silver moon and would have been left to wonder who could possibly be flying about the city in the dead of night.  Of course, there wasn’t anypony awake, besides the Lunar Guards, to look to the patterns of white stars against the canvas of black regardless.  Her gaze drifted along the tops of roofs and the bottoms of streets as her shadow flowed over them.

Her silver shoes clinked softly as she alighted herself upon one of the castle battlements.  The gentle wind that passed over the city flowed through her light-blue mane which would, with time, eventually change to become an ethereal thing full of glimmering stars.  She hummed softly as she gazed over the land that she and her sister ruled over together.  She felt content, as she often did when she sat in silence, though she wore a slight frown.  Something’s missing.

She shifted on the cold wall, trying to discover what little thing nettled at her enough to ruin her contentment.  When she didn’t find anything, she tossed her head angrily.  “We cannot figure out what is amiss!”  She tensed her legs and jumped from her perch, flying over another section of city before landing again.  “It is here as well!  This is most unpleasant.”

So it continued for a few minutes, Luna flying from one place to another in an attempt to pinpoint her problem.  “Tis a shame that nopony is awake to assist us in our matter of urgency.”  Granted, she knew this was only partly true, as her stalwart Lunar Guards were awake.  However, she also knew that they would be little or no help as to why she felt her unease or even to rid her of its oily grasp.
