Dear Anonymous,
Hail, fair Anonymous, shining example of mankind, and a truly peerless companion!
It appears that I’ve lost my patience for the Old Ponish dialect as well, at least when it comes to having a back-and-forth with dear friends. In truth, it isn’t nearly as abundant as it used to be, as far as most of my advisors are concerned. Plainhoof, however… I cherish that stallion’s mind, but sometimes, his manner of speaking makes me feel young, if you can believe it.
Oh, but we can prattle on about all of our wonderful little nothings whenever we see each other next. It’s nice to hear from you again, Anon! Believe it or not, I was actually just about to write to you as well. I knew things had been busy for you, but I wasn’t aware of just how turbulent things had become at your job. Don’t ever feel like you have to apologize for not writing, either. I, of all ponies, understand how busy things can be at times.
To answer your question, I’ve actually been quite well. There hasn’t been anything particularly exciting happening as of late, which is an unusual development for the castle. Why, I even found myself with some downtime earlier today! Needless to say, I almost didn’t know what to do with myself, but I did eventually decide to spend some time out in the gardens with a book I’d been recommended recently. If you haven’t heard of Bright Horizon, I strongly encourage you to read one of her works for yourself. I have a feeling that they might be right up your alley.
That’s enough about me, though. I’m sorry that your work has taken such an upsetting turn, Anon. While I can’t say that I’m personally familiar with your particular situation, I offer my heartfelt support all the same. Should you ever need somepony to talk to, you need only ask. In truth, though, I’m glad that you’ve parted ways with the company you worked for. In breaking free of those preconceived dreams, you’ve taken the important first step in figuring out what kind of person you want to be. It can be a terrifying prospect, starting over, but the comfort and joy that arise from finally coming into your own is nothing short of momentous.
I think you’ve got a fantastic start, too. Relocating to Ponyville for the time being was a wonderful idea, and if the tail end of your letter is any indication, your friends seem to agree as well. Don’t get too caught up in figuring everything out while you’re there; take everything in this time around. Breathe deeply, look closely, and just be - unconditionally. You may find that the answer to what ails you has always been just out of sight.
Regarding your former boss’s conduct surrounding your personal belongings, I certainly hope he doesn’t make any rash decisions. That was far too perfect of a moment to simply leave as a memory. Speaking of which, you still haven’t made any moves to retaliate since that day, Anon. What could you be planning, I wonder…?
In all seriousness, I’d very much enjoy it if you came to visit after you retrieved your things. It’s been too long, and I believe some tea and lunch with a close friend would make my day. Don’t worry about it if you’re pressed for time, though - I understand completely. Be safe on your journey, Anonymous!
Fondly yours,
Celestia
Celestia, with a flourish of her magic, strips the quill of any excess ink before placing it back into its receptacle. The intense morning rays of gold reflect off of the singular silver strip adorning the implement, narrowly missing her eyes by a few inches, as it settles into place. Smiling warmly, she sighs, contented; after toiling for what felt like hours, it seems that the right words had found her after all.
As she stands and glides out from behind her desk, ready to begin a long day of court, she wonders if Anon still likes chamomile.
