Equestria is a very interesting world. A thousand years have passed by since the Elements of Harmony saved the world from the evils that threatened it, and the world was now brought to peace between all races across from it. Unfortunately, as the years went by, the bearers of the elements were taken by age. All except for the Princess of Friendship.

She lived for those years along with her sister-in-law: the Princess of Love, and her niece. Despite this, they continued to thrive and even made some new friends along the way. However, one friend in particular was more than just a friend to her niece.

We start by going to the castle of the Crystal Empire. The guards bowed their heads at the two beings who walked through the halls.

One of them was the alicorn princess: Flurry Heart who had grown up after so many years and was used to seeing them do. She kept her mane short since then, and her body had also matured since then. Though, despite being of royalty, she wore more casual clothes. That of which being a purple shirt, a denim skirt, and red shoes.

The other was an eighteen-year-old human named Anon who was a bit nervous from seeing the bowing guards. His species was one of the few magicless that have been discovered over the years and become a part of society and had become a close friend of the princess. He was also just wearing casual clothes as well.

As they were walking, the princess slowed to even their pace before she placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Hey, don’t pay them any mind. You’ll get used to it after a bit.” She reassured him.

“Hope so. Are you sure your mom won’t be bothered?” He asked.

“I’m sure she won’t. My mom isn’t strict. Besides, she’ll probably be… embarrassing me more than anything. So don’t worry your little head about it.”

He smiled at her as she smiled back while they continued their walk. There should be no question as to why Anon was worried. He was gonna be meeting the Princess of Love, after all, one of the most powerful beings in all of Equestria. What was he supposed to or going to say?

After a little bit, they stopped at a set of doors as the guards opened them, allowing for the two inside. A dining room table that unlike how he expected wasn’t super long. Sitting at the end of the table was Princess Mi Amore Cadenza a.k.a. Cadance, who was wearing a purple low-cut royal dress, golden bracelets, high heels, neckless, and crown.

Once she noticed the two enter, her wings slightly twitched before she stood up and gleefully ran over.

“Flurry!” She says while scooping the younger alicorn into a hug. “Oh, it’s good to have you back.”

“H-hi, mom.” Flurry says, muffled. “It’s only been a few days.”

“I know, but it feels longer. When you wrote to me, I couldn’t wait to see my baby girl again.” Cadance says before letting her go and turning to the human and looking surprised. “Is this the boy you mentioned?”

“Yes, this is him.” Flurry says before walking back to the human’s side. “Mom, this is Anon he’s… a new friend I made here.”

Anon didn’t focus too much on what his friend said, staring at her mother. He wasn’t surprised she still had her youth despite being over a thousand years old, he was told Flurry was technically also the same way even though she was younger, but she lived up to her reputation of being beautiful, especially with her dress being tight enough to show her curves which made it hard to look away from.

“Greetings. It’s a pleasure to meet you, young man.” Cadance says with a kind smile that could make anyone and any pony’s heart melt.

“Y-yeah. It’s nice to meet you, your highness.” The boy says while doing a quick bow.

“Oh, such lovely manners.” The alicorn giggled.

That made the human feel better knowing that he was already making a good first impression, as was his alicorn friend who smiled at him for reassurance.

They got set up at the table, Cadance at her original spot, Anon sitting between her and Flurry. The aforementioned alicorn was a little closer to her human friend.

“It’s been a while since I met another human. I believe the last time was when your aunt Twilight met with the ambassador.” The pink alicorn says. “Well, I never directly met with the ambassador, so that probably doesn’t count.”

“It’s not that big of a deal, really. We met a few months back, got to know each other, and sure enough, we became friends.” Flurry explains.

“Oh, well that’s nice to hear. It’s nice to see my sweet baby Flurry is still making friends.”

“Yeah, I’ve even made a few other friends thanks to him as well.”

“I see.”

She wasn’t wrong. A few months back Anon was hanging with his small group of friends when he caught sight of Flurry hiding her wings and decided to invite her, believing her to be a unicorn the same age as him. She hung out with him the most of all and a month after that, she trusted him enough to tell him her secret about being one of the Crystal Empire’s princesses.

Just a week ago, they had discussed meeting her mother for the first time for dinner to which he was as worried as he was today. He eventually overcame his worries enough to meet with the Crystal Empire’s oldest princess.

Now that they were both in the same room, Anon could somewhat see some resemblance. They had the same eyes and the younger alicorn had most of her mother’s mane color. There were more differences in her fur coat and her mane had some streaks that came from her late father from what he could see from photos.

She was also a foot shorter than her mother, a few inches shorter than Anon. And being an adult by now, she looked less like Cadance’s Daughter and more like a little sister. The human mentally scolded himself for looking at them that way and quickly straightened up as one of the butlers came delivering the food.

As they talked, Flurry would sometimes playfully tease Anon and he would act flustered by it, giving her a kind smile while laughing it off. Cadance saw and smiled while looking at them, being reminded of how she was when she was young with her first special somepony and even joining her daughter in on the teasing.

It was a few hours after dinner and Anon was just leaving the bathroom having done his business in there and was on his way down the hall. Since it was late, he was offered to stay over and he agreed to spend more time with Flurry.

As he was walking around, he looked out the long window of out into the kingdom. In the middle of it were two statues, one of which was carved to look like the dragon: Spike, whom he read about, knowing he saved the kingdom from the infamous King Sombra.

The other statue was the unicorn stallion: Shining Armor, the leader of the original Royal Guard and first husband to the Princess of Love, of which he remembered seeing a plate on the bottom saying ‘In honor and memory’ when he passed by. Sure he didn’t meet him, but he had no doubt he was a respectful man… stallion.

As he was distracted, he suddenly bumped into someone and stumbled back while hearing whoever he bumped into yelp in shock. When he looked back, he saw that it was Cadance herself who looked surprised and he got worried.

“Oh, shoot, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” He quickly said.

“It’s fine, dear. Nothing to freak out about.” She says back with a wave of her hand. “I figured you’d be in bed by now though.”

“I was just using the bathroom. I’m gonna go to bed right now.”

He took another look back at the princess and noticed something else. There was a tear trickling down her cheek from her eye.

“Is there something the matter, your highness?” He asked with a bit of concern.

“Huh? Oh, it’s nothing dear. I just got something in my eye.” She said back while wiping her eyes.

He turned and looked at the wall, seeing a big family portrait in the middle of the hallway. All three were smiling, she looked the same as she did now, Flurry looked slightly younger in the picture, although, Shining Armor looked a little older, with a few wrinkles seen on his face.

He looked back at Cadance who was looking away, depressed. It didn’t take a genius to know what she was doing in the middle of the hall.

“Do you wanna talk?” asked.

She appeared surprised at first but nodded.

“I don’t think I have to put it into words, but if you insist.” She looked back at the portrait. “Me and Flurry really miss him. Sometimes I wish we could’ve made him an alicorn so he could still be with us.”

“You really love him, huh?”

“Is that a rhetorical question? Even after all these years, I could never forget him. Especially after all we’ve been through.”

“Well you know, I’m sure he wouldn’t want you to be so sad.”

“Dear, I’m not that sad. However, I appreciate your condolences.”

“Alright, well, I’m gonna go to bed now. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight. Sweet dreams.”

Anon nodded, believing he shouldn’t get involved any further as he started walking away.

Cadance stayed while smiling as he left before looking back at the portrait. She walked closer to the portrait and put a hand on Shining in the picture, sighing as she remained there for about a minute. She then stepped back.

“Goodnight, Shiny. I’ll see you tomorrow.” She says before walking away.

She sighed to herself as she walked through the hall, expecting nothing more to happen. Her ears twitch as she swears she could hear something. The closer she got to her daughter’s room, the closer the sound got and the more it made her wonder what was going on.

The door was slightly ajar just enough for the noise to sneak through, curiosity and worry getting the better of her as she peaked inside, the noise becoming clearer now and she was shocked by what she saw.

In the bed, she was able to see her daughter: Flurry Heart sitting on the edge, Anon was in front of her, hands on her hips while thrusting his hips into hers. Her mother watched while covering her mouth, still in shock. Surely this ‘friend’ couldn’t just be a friend if they were this close. Maybe they were dating and they were too afraid to tell anypony about it. They had to be in a greater relationship than they let on.

The more Cadance watched them continue at it, the more she started to focus less on why this was happening as she started to feel something in her body. Watching them reminded her of how she was back then.

After a bit, they slowed to a stop and stayed in place. She watched more with curiosity and then again was surprised to see white liquid land on the floor that she knew all too well.

“Man, even this place looks… big…” Anon says, trailing off as he stops in his tracks.

Seeing him try to leave rather than stay made Cadance see that he didn’t have ulterior motives or was being malicious. She thought for a moment.

“Could you actually stay for a moment?” She asked as he looked at her, puzzled. “I usually have somepony else come in to do my back, but she currently has today off so could you… perhaps help?”

Anon almost jumped out of his skin, face completely red. From the way he looked, she could see some thinking going through his head as he turned away.

“Uh… s-sure, I can… help.” He muttered in agreement.

After a second, they started the water and steam filled the room. Anon was doing his best to avoid looking at the princess’ body, much to her amusement. She sat on the stool and handed him the soap as she turned her back to him and her wings spread slightly.

After another second, he slowly nodded. She stepped behind the stool to which he caught a small glance before looking away quickly and walking to sit on the stool, back faced to her, to which she giggled before she got started washing his back.
