Chapter 1: Coming Home

It was late one night in summer when the fire happened. The Ponyville weather team was ordered to put together a storm that would last a few days, but sadly one of the Pegasi wasn't paying attention to her section of the sky and the storm got out of control, rippling out from where she was in charge, causing the storm to turn violent. None of the Pegasi on the weather team were able to contain the storm, not even Rainbow Dash could do anything as the storm drifted over Sweet Apple Acres, and lighting struck the top of the barn. Since Applebloom and the other two members of the CMC ran inside to hide from the storm somepony had to go out to save them from the quickly growing fire.

Applejack, being the brave mare she is, ran in and grabbed two of them, not being able to see who they were until she got outside. When she looked she realized that Applebloom was still inside, and the barn was starting to collapse in on itself, so in one final burst of energy she ran inside, jumping over and dodging the burning pieces of the barn. As she grabbed Applebloom and brought her outside a beam fell from the roof of the barn and smacked into her face, causing her to throw Applebloom outside and for her to be trapped in the barn blinded. Thankfully Big Macintosh managed to break through the wall of the barn and pull her out to safety, only to quickly rush her to Ponyville Hospital to check on her eyes. The diagnosis was grim.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been two months since the accident, and everyday somepony visited Applejack in the hospital. She didn't mind the company of course, but after a while she realized what was going on. No pony told her what the doctors had said, but she wasn't stupid, she could tell the whack to her face blinded her by burning her eyes. At first it was the sense of dread she felt whenever somepony visited her, but at some point she heard Twilight tell Applebloom and Big Mac that she wouldn't see again because the fire burned her retinas. Even though she had no idea what retinas where Applejack could understand one part of Twilight's speech.

She will never be able to see again, not even with magic

After a month Applejack noticed her hearing improving, which was why she heard Twilight, but she also noticed her other senses improving as well. When she asked Twilight about it one day she said it was common that when a pony loses one sense the other ones improve to compensate, although it still meant that she couldn't work ever again. She might be able to learn to cook while blind, but apple bucking was her thing. It's what made the stallions stare and the mares envious. Now that she lost that she was going to loose her figure, and she was sure as the night is dark that no stallion would want to marry somepony who can't see. Before Applejack could once again think about how bleak her life was going to be she heard a knock at the door to her private room.

"Come in!" Applejack shouted, not sure who would come to her now. Over the last few weeks the only ponies who came to see her were her family and close friends.

"This is Applejack's room right?" a familiar sounding voice asked from the door. The familiarity only made Applejack wish she could see even more, at least then she could place a name to the face.

"Eeyup, can I ask who you are, if'n you don't mind me asking?" Applejack asked as she heard the pony make their way towards her bed.

"You probably don't remember me, but we met at the Grand Galloping Gala a while ago, I bought a pie from you" the pony said as they pulled a seat over to sit down on.

"Sorry, but seein' as I can't see your face I can't recall who you are" Applejack said sincerely, sitting up slightly to make sure she was eye level with the pony.

"I'm Soarin," the pony said sheepishly, "of the Wonderbolts, I'm sure Rainbow Dash has mentioned me at least once"

"Soarin..." Applejack said as she tapped her chin, trying to recall the name, "I think I remember you. Light blue with dark blue hair right? Lighting bolt with wings for a cutie mark?"

"Yeah..." Soarin said as he went over what Applejack had said in his head, "Wait you were looking at my cutie mark?"

"Eeyup, I sometimes catch myself looking at stallions when they ain't lookin'" Applejack said sheepishly, blushing slightly. Despite her tough exterior Applejack was still a mare, and sometimes mares just can't help but look at attractive stallions.

"What made you look at me?" Soarin asked quietly, Applejack could hear his hooves rubbing together nervously.

"Well, you had a nice face, a well kept mane, and were fit" Applejack said with a smile, "What mare wouldn't look at a stallion like that?". The two of them laughed together before Soarin coughed, making Applejack stop.

"Anyways, I came here to see you" Soarin said seriously, "Spitfire told me you were in an accident and I wanted to come see if you were okay"

"Aww, thanks sugar cube, but why would a stallion such as yourself want to do with a blind pony like me?" Applejack asked with a smile, having a feeling that Soarin had started to blush, and she was right. When he didn't respond she moved a hoof out towards where she heard him talking from and touched his chest, from there she found his foreleg and moved her hoof down to his, holding onto it tightly.

"Cat got your tongue sugar cube?" Applejack said seductively, hoping to get him to speak up about what was keeping him quiet. When he suddenly pulled away from her and ran towards the door she felt a little bit hurt, and a little bit happy. If he was running away from her like that it could mean one of two things. Either he liked her, or he was running away from her because she was blind now. Applejack didn't really care either way, it still meant that there might be one stallion in Equestria that might like her despite her disability.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Are you ready to go home Ms. Apple?"

Those were the last words Applejack thought she would ever hear from Doctor Stable. After two months of sitting in a hospital bed Applejack had begun to think she would never get to go home. When he came into the room Applejack had just finished her breakfast and was able to call the nurse to come pick up her dishes. It would be an understatement to say she was surprised, but according to Doctor Stable they "had found someone to look after her" over night, which meant she could be discharged from the hospital. That was the only reason she was still there. With Granny Smith being as old as she is, and Applebloom being as young as she is, the only pony in her family that could watch her was Big Mac, but now that Applejack wasn't able to help him out with chores he had no time to watch her.

"Who is watching me Doctor?" Applejack asked as he walked her to the front lobby.

"He says he talked to you yesterday, but wanted it to be a surprise when you, uh, heard him" Doctor Stable said as he slowly guided Applejack around a corner. With the mention of yesterday Applejack realized who it was, and felt mixed emotions. Why would a Wonderbolt want to watch a blind Earth pony when he could travel across Equestria performing for thousands?

"He- Hey there, Applejack?" Soarin said shakily as Applejack and the Doctor turned the corner to the lobby.

"Hey there Soarin" Applejack said with a smile, causing Soarin to jump slightly, which made Applejack giggle. After a few awkward shuffles from Soarin Applejack was released from the hospital. When they went to leave Soarin walked off ahead of Applejack, forgetting one important thing.

"Uh, Soarin?"

"Yeah?"

"I can't see where I'm going..."

"Oh yeah!" Soarin quickly ran back to Applejack taking one of her forelegs over his neck, but she pulled away and moved right up to his side. Soarin quickly took the hint and opened one of his wings for her and she moved underneath it. After his other wing opened for a few seconds he brought his wing down onto her, holding her against her side. She giggled as Soarin began to walk awkwardly away from the hospital with Applejack at his side.

After a few minutes they arrived in Ponyville, many ponies running around the pair with ease. Applejack could hear a few familiar voices in the crowd, and occasionally listened in on some conversations as they walked through the town. Every now and then she would hear a couple chatting playfully.

"Honey look, I'm an Alicorn!" a stallion yelled from nearby.

"Get that ice cream cone off your head..." a mare said from around the same area, so Applejack guessed he was probably a Pegasus with an ice cream cone on his head.

"Yes ma'am" the stallion replied, defeated. Applejack chuckled quietly to herself, but Soarin had managed to hear it and looked around to see what she might be laughing at. When he saw a Pegasus with a ice cream cone on his head being chased around by a Unicorn he started to laugh with Applejack. Pretty soon the two of them were laughing happily as they walked towards the edge of town, along the path to Sweet Apple Acres. As they got closer to the farm Applejack could hear the occasional thump coming from the orchard. She knew it was Big Mac bucking the apples for Applebuck Season.

"Sis!" Applebloom shouted from far away, the sound of hooves hitting the ground rapidly as she ran over to her sister and Soarin. When she made it to Applejack she jumped onto her, swinging around on her neck happily. Applebloom wasn't able to visit her very much over the two months she was in the hospital because of school and her activities with the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

"Oh, and, uh, hi Soarin" Applebloom said quietly as she let go of Applejack's neck. Applejack could feel a bit of tension between the two of them, which concerned her. What would make her sister feel apprehensive of Soarin, the kind stallion who took some time out of his probably busy schedule to take care of her?

"So! Should we go to the house now?" Soarin asked nervously, making Applejack even more confused.

"Yeah, ok!" Applebloom said happily, which calmed Soarin down, but only managed to confuse Applejack even more. As they walked up the hill to the house Applejack tried to stay behind, which made Soarin turn around.

"What's wrong?" Soarin asked worriedly.

"What's goin' on between you and my sis?" Applejack asked quietly.

"They're just a bit worried about me staying in your house with you" Soarin said honestly as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Why are you staying here?" Applejack asked, not sure why a rich Wonderbolt like Soarin would have to stay with her family on the farm.

"Well, uh..." Soarin said before looking behind Applejack, "Hey Big Mac!"

"Hey Soarin, I see you brought Applejack back today" Big Mac said coldly as he stared at Soarin. Despite Applejack being blind she could tell the two of them were staring each other down.

"Yeah, she was let out today because I'm going to watch her" Soarin said, just as cold as Big Mac.

"And that's all you're gonna do" Big Mac said sternly before turning around quickly, not even bothering to say hello to Applejack. As he was walking away she heard Soarin curse under his breath before he walked back to Applejack's side, wrapping his wing back around Applejack's back. He didn't say anything as they walked up to the house, making Applejack worry. When they got inside they said hello to Granny Smith who was nodding in and out of sleep, and Soarin led Applejack upstairs to her room. He quickly laid her down on her bed before saying anything.

"Sorry for how I acted out there" Soarin said sadly, regretting the way he acted towards Big Mac in front of her.

"Why were Applebloom and Big Mac acting like that to you?" Applejack asked, moving her hoof around to try and hold Soarin's. She wasn't able to find his hoof and when she heard him walking out of the room she knew something was going on that he didn't want her to know about.

"Just shout if you need anything" Soarin said coldly as he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.

"Okay..." Applejack said sadly as she laid back in her bed, turning over to face the wall as she started to drift off to sleep. When she finally started to sleep she heard her door open slowly, and she heard someone whisper from behind the door.

"Sleep tight..." Soarin said sadly before he shut the door again, now making his way down the hallway.

Chapter 2: Juicy Apple Pie

Early the next morning Applejack awoke to the rooster's call. As odd as it seems, that was the one thing she had missed her entire time in the hospital, because it was the one thing about the farm she could always count on being there. Applejack slowly turned over to face the window, letting the warm light wash over her face. Despite not being able to see she still loved mornings and the calmness it brought her. No matter what had happened the night before she could always wake up and trust that the sun would be there to greet her when she woke up.

Knock Knock

"Come in" Applejack said calmly as the door creaked open. As it opened her nostrils were filled with the scent of a fresh apple pie, along with another smell, possibly water or rain...

"M, morning Applejack" Soarin stuttered as he walked into the room, seeing Applejack smiling happily out the window. He wasn't sure what she was doing, but he knew it was time for breakfast, so he had to help her eat.

"What's with the pie for breakfast?" Applejack asked as she sat up, facing where she thought Soarin was.

"I, uh, can't cook anything other than pies" Soarin said with a nervous laugh, a scratching noise telling Applejack that he was rubbing the back of his head as he laughed. Applejack smiled sweetly as he placed a tray across her legs, carefully placing the pie in front of her. After a few minutes of nothing he finally spoke up again.

"How am I supposed to help you eat if I can't use magic?" Soarin thought out loud, making Applejack giggle.

"You could just sit on the other side of the bed and hold the fork for me" Applejack said, still giggling slightly. She never knew she had such a girly side, giggling as much as she was because of how Soarin was acting. After a few quick shuffles Soarin climbed onto the bed and picked up the fork he had brought with him. With a clink he scooped up a piece of the pie, preparing to offer it to Applejack. Before he said anything she opened her mouth, ready for the pie. Soarin gasped quietly when he looked at Applejack with her mouth open, slowly moving the pie towards her, she accidentally bit down on the fork before the pie was all the way in because of how slow he was moving and ended up with bits of pie all over her face.

"Oh, sorry!" Soarin said quickly as he reached for a napkin, only for his searching hoof to be stopped by Applejack, who smiled at him.

"Just get it off with your hoof" Applejack said seductively, surprising even herself with how her voice sounded. Soarin slowly moved his hoof towards Applejack's face and wiped all of the pie onto his hoof, which was grabbed by Applejack. Soarin jerked slightly as she pulled his hoof towards her mouth, her tongue sticking out. After a few tries she manged to find her tongue and licked the pie off, causing Soarin to shiver.

"You are really good at making pies" Applejack said happily, licking her lips as she let go of Soarin's hoof. He laughed nervously again, this time shifting around on the bed as he did. Applejack giggled again and got an idea in her head.

"Hey Soarin?" Applejack asked in her sweetest voice.

"Y-Yeah?" Soarin stuttered, his voice cracking slightly.

"We have some cider downstairs in the fridge, you should go grab some" Applejack said, slowly pushing Soarin off the bed with her hind legs. Soarin quickly got off the bed, his panicked hoof steps telling Applejack that he was quickly making his way down to the fridge to get the cider, and within a few minutes he was back upstairs, a few bottles of cider in his hooves, guessing by the clinking of glass.

"How much did you get?" Applejack asked as she heard more clinking as Soarin sat back down on the bed.

"All of it" Soarin said quickly.

"Why?" Applejack asked confused.

"Just in case you wanted to drink a lot of it" Soarin said quietly, setting the bottles next to the pie on Applejack's tray. Applejack quickly grabbed one and opened it, drinking the entire thing in one go.

"Woah..." Soarin whispered as she picked up another bottle, finishing it in one go as well.

"I'm the best drinker in Ponyville, I can do this in my sleep!" Applejack said happily, picking up another bottle.

"Wait, Applejack!" Soarin said quickly, but was too late, she had already downed the bottle.

"That one didn't have as much in it as the others..." Applejack said as she picked up another bottle to make sure she was right.

"That's because it was my bottle" Soarin said quietly, sounding embarrassed.

"Really?" Applejack said as she remembered something she heard from Twilight one night at the lirbary, "Doesn't that mean it's kinda like we kissed?"

"Wha-What?!" Soarin shotued, making Applejack laugh, she could have sworn she almost heard him fall over the end of the bed.

"Well, Twilight said that in some places sharing drinks is called, what was it again..." Applejack trailed off as she tapped her chin, "Oh, indirect kissing!". After that she felt Soarin get off the bed and heard his wings flapping quickly as he flew out the door. Applejack couldn't help but feel a bit sad that he left like that, but she couldn't figure out why. Was it possible that she managed to fall in love with Soarin and that her sense were making her act differently because of it?

"Soarin?" Applejack called out quietly, hoping he would come back through the door. When she heard slow hoof steps coming towards her she felt her heart begin to beat faster and faster. When Soarin stopped in front of her she couldn't hear anything but her heart beat. Or, at least it was all she could hear until Soarin spoke.

"Yeah Applejack?" Soarin said quietly, a hint of nervousness in his voice. Applejack couldn't respond, instead she reached out for Soarin's face and kissed him. After Soarin's shock wore off they sat there for a few seconds, taking in each others taste before Applejack pushed forwards with her tongue. She had never felt this way about any other stallion, and with it being so sudden she couldn't figure out why she was doing it. Applejack was almost 100% sure that if Soarin asked her to marry him right then and there she would say yes.

"Soarin, why don't you take the tray's place on my bed?" Applejack asked seductively, and Soarin got the hint. He quickly moved the tray out of the way and climbed onto the bed, straddling Applejack. After a few seconds Applejack found what she was looking for and was happily surprised. She thought about what to do next, but a sudden noise at her door distracted her.

"Sis?" Applebloom said slowly, before running off down the hall to her room, causing Soarin to jump off the bed and hide himself. Applejack slowly got out of her bed and guided herself down the hall to Applebloom's room. When she got to the door she found out it was locked, so she knocked quietly.

"Applebloom?" Applejack said calmly, hoping to talk to Applebloom about what she saw.

"GO AWAY!" Applebloom shouted, evidently crying.

"I just want to talk, I want to say that I'm sorry" Applejack said, trying the door nob again to find it unlocked. She slowly walked into the room and listened for Applebloom, who was hiding on her bed under her covers. Applejack walked over to the bed, knowing she was there from the sobbing. She slowly rubbed the covers above Applebloom  to coax her out.

"Why were you doing that with him?" Applebloom asked quietly.

"I don't know Applebloom, it just happened, and I'm sorry you had to see it" Applejack said as she looked for Applebloom's face with her hoof. Applebloom quickly grabbed her hoof and put it on her head, making Applejack scruff up her mane. Applejack smiled at her as Soarin walked into the room, coughing to make his presence know.

"Hey there Applebloom" Soarin said awkwardly, his voice cracking due to his nervousness.

"Hi Soarin, it's okay, Applejack explained it to me" Applebloom said happily, even making Applejack give her a confused look. Applebloom moved Applejack's hoof towards her eye, using Applejack's enhanced sense of touch to show that she was  winking. The two sisters laughed as Soarin walked out of the room, heading back to Applejack's room. A few minutes later Applejack left to join him in her room. They were madly in love right now, and not even an awkward moment like that was going to stop them from satisfying their needs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Applejack laid beside Soarin, both of the panting from their recent activity. They laid next to each other for a few minutes before cuddling up to each other, giving each other the occasional kiss. It was morning when they started, but it was evening when the finished. Both of them were exhausted, yet fulfilled. Applejack was the first one to talk afterwards.

"I'm kinda happy my sense of touch is better now" Applejack said after giving Soarin another kiss.

"And why is that?" Soarin asked playfully, giving her a kiss back.

"It made everything feel a whole lot better" Applejack said, turning to get out of bed. Just in time too as Granny Smith had just started to ring the dinner bell. Soarin quickly hopped out of bed and helped Applejack down the stairs. When they got downstairs Applejack could tell Granny Smith had gone all out on dinner that night, with all of her favorites too.

"I hope you two are hungry, because Granny made a lot!" Applebloom said happily as she ran past Soarin to get to the dinner table.

"I'm starving, I feel like I've been working all day" Applejack said, grinning happily as she found a seat of her own, "Are you hungry Soarin?"

"Eenope" Soarin said, imitating the Apple family's mannerisms, as he sat down next to Applejack, grabbing her hoof, "Because I've been eating the best Apple pie for the entire day"

Chapter 3: Morning Sickness

Over the next week everything was normal. There was the occasional fight between Big Mac and Soarin, along with the few rolls in the hay Applejack had with Soarin. Sometimes Applebloom would argue with Soarin, but they eventually started to get along, well, until one morning.

"SOARIN!" Applejack shouted from her bed. She heard his wings flapping as he flew down the hall to figure out why she was screaming his name without him being in the room.

"What's wrong?!" Soarin said loudly as he flew to her bedside.

"GET ME TO THE BATHROOM!" Applejack screamed, grabbing Soarin's neck tightly.

"Why?" Soarin asked quickly as Applejack started to choke him.

"JUST DO IT!" Applejack screamed, spitting on Soarin's face by accident. He didn't say anything else, afraid that if he tried to question her again she would snap his neck. Within seconds she was in the bathroom sitting on the toilet. Soarin was about to go get Applebloom or Granny Smith in case they were needed, but when he heard Applejack start to heave he knew it was okay for him to go inside.

"Are you okay?" Soarin asked as he carefully sat down next to Applejack, who was still heaving.

"DOES IT LOOK LIKE-" Applejack started to shout before she had to shove her head back over the toilet again. Soarin laughed quietly to himself as she tried to yell at him a few times, each time having to immediately go back to the toilet. Applejack finished heaving a few minutes later and slumped against the wall next to the toilet.

"This is your fault" Applejack said bitterly, causing Soarin to raise an eyebrow.

"How is this my fault?" Soarin asked trying to defend himself.

"Because we, well, you know" Applejack said, starting to feel more feminine again. Why was she suddenly so embarrassed about it now? Every time they've done it she was the one who suggested it, so why is it a touchy subject now of all times?

"Did you eat too much pie?" Soarin asked, oblivious to what she was talking about.

"No, you did" Applejack snapped back.

"What do you-" Soarin said, the realization hitting him like a ton of bricks. It's been about a week since the first time, does this mean she might be...

"Ass" Applejack said bitterly as she tried to get up, slipping back to the ground. She groaned before Soarin offered his hoof to her. Applejack took his hoof angrily and got up, letting him guide her downstairs for breakfast, even though food was the last thing thing she wanted right now. When she reached the bottom of the stairs she could smell fresh pancakes in the kitchen, and could hear Applebloom running towards her.

"Morning!" Applebloom said happily, noticing Applejack's sickly look, "You okay sis?". Applejack groaned in response, so Applebloom walked over to Soarin. Applebloom quickly whispered into Soarin's ear, just quiet enough so that Applejack couldn't hear it. Soarin must have nodded because Applebloom quickly trotted away, humming to herself. The front door opened quickly, the heavy hoof steps letting Applejack know that it was Big Mac coming in for breakfast. Over the past week she managed to find out that ever since the accident he had been waking up at least an hour before sunrise so that he could get all the chores done before dinner.

"Morning Big Mac" Soarin said cheerfully. Big Mac just grumbled in response and Soarin groaned. No matter how many times he tried to make nice with Big Mac things never got better. Applejack asked Granny Smith and Applebloom about it, but all they said was that it was "male tension", which didn't explain anything.

"What's wrong Applejack?" Big Mac asked, noticing how green she was looking.

"Nothing, I'm just not feeling very well" Applejack said, not wanting to give him another reason to make him hate Soarin.

"Ok, if you say so" Mac said, but she could tell he glared at Soarin before turning towards the kitchen. Applejack groaned, causing Soarin to look at her.

"Are you okay, do you need to go to the bathroom again?" Soarin asked while he held her hoof with both of his hooves. She smiled at him and leaned up against him.

"I'm okay, let's go get some food" Applejack said happily, preparing to force herself to eat. As they walked into the kitchen her nostrils were filled with the scent of scrambled eggs and hay bacon. Her morning sickness went away almost immediately after she sat down and had a plate of Granny Smith's eggs in front of her.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soarin had insisted on Applejack going to go see Doctor Stable to see if her vomiting really was because of morning sickness, or if she was just getting sick from being back at home. Applejack had been sitting in the waiting room alone for around an hour while Soarin tried to get her an appointment when she finally heard the doctor's door open.

"First day back at home and you already did that?" Doctor Stable said surprised, "I've never had this happen before"

"Me neither" Soarin said with a chuckle, quickly joined by the doctor. Applejack cleared her throat, getting the two stallion's attention.

"Sorry about that Ms. Apple" Doctor Stable said, clearing his throat, "You can come in now". Soarin grabbed Applejack's hoof and helped her into the doctor's office. After she was ready to be examined Soarin left the room, wanting to respect Applejack's privacy.

"So what seems to be the problem Ms. Apple?" Doctor Stable asked, picking up his clip board with his magic.

"Well, I know Soarin told you about, um..." Applejack said, becoming embarrassed again.

"Yes, he told me about that, he also said that you were sick this morning" Doctor Stable said scribbling stuff down onto his clipboard.

"Yeah, I, uh, think I might be pregnant now" Applejack said quietly.

"Well, if you come with me we can check" Doctor Stable said as he grabbed Applejack's hoof. She followed the doctor out of his office and down the hall to a room she didn't know existed. There was a weird smell in the room and the floor felt harder than normal. When she tried to hear for the doctor she couldn't find him in the room, but then there was a loud noise above her.

BING

"Ms. Apple, can you step forward a few feet?"

She recognized the voice as Doctor Stable's but he sounded like he was talking from far away. Applejack listened and walk forwards a few feet stopping when she heard Doctor Stable again.

"You can stop there Ms. Apple, now please stand as still as you can"

Again Applejack complied, standing perfectly still. After a few minutes she could hear a low humming noise and felt a weird sensation run across her body. She tried to stay still, but whatever was going across her was tickling her, and it was going unbearably slow. When it reached the other end of her body she heard Doctor Stable's voice come back.

"Thank you Ms. Apple, Soarin is coming in to get you now"

She turned towards the door, which hissed as it opened making her think she was in one of Applebloom's stories. When she heard Soarin's hooves clicking on the floor she smiled, her hoof getting grabbed a second later.

"Come on, Stable has something to tell you" Soarin said slowly, worrying Applejack. Was she actually pregnant, was something else wrong? During the walk to Doctor Stable's office Applejack was going over a million things that could have gone wrong in her head, each time her ideas getting worse and worse. What if she is pregnant and it's deformed? What if it's going to miscarry? What if-

"Come sit down Ms. Apple" Doctor Stable said from inside his office. Applejack quickly turned towards him and tried to find the chairs in the room. After some fumbling she managed to sit down on her own, with Soarin sitting next to her with his hoof on top of hers.

"What is it Doctor?" Applejack asked worriedly, afraid of what he might say.

"Well, to put it simply, you are pregnant" Doctor Stable said flatly, "Would you like to hear more?"

"Yes sir"

"Ok, well, the scan was able to confirm that the date of conception was the day you went home, and that Soarin is the father" Doctor Stable said as he handed some papers to Soarin. Applejack could hear Soarin flipping through the papers, setting them down after a minute.

"How do you know all this from one scan this early on?" Soarin asked, that being the only thing that bugged him.

"It's a extremely difficult spell developed in the research labs up in Canterlot, it allows us to collect data about a ponies body without having to examine them physically. It is also 33% more accurate" Stable said happily. Soarin picked the papers up again and stood up taking Applejack's hoof with him, telling her that it was time to leave. They said their goodbyes to Doctor Stable and a few of the nurses before leaving. They didn't talk the entire way back to the farm, both of them trying to decide what to do now that they have a baby together.

"Welcome back Applejack!" Rainbow Dash shouted from far away, the sound of her wings flapping rapidly increasing, along with another pony behind her.

"Wait up Rainbow!" Spitfire screamed, not being able to match Rainbow Dash's speed. The two of them landed soon after, nearly blowing the papers away.

"Hey guys" Soarin said in a monotone voice, causing both Spitfire and Rainbow to hum. There was silence as they stared at each other, the three of them trying to guess what was going on from each other's appearance. After a few minutes Applejack heard Rainbow shoot towards Soarin, causing him to let go of the papers, which he was holding with his wing.

"Ooh, what do we have here..." Rainbow said happily as she picked up the papers reading them as she collected them. After she stopping picking up papers Applejack heard something hit Soarin on the back of the head.

"Smooth move you idiot" Rainbow said angrily, hitting Soarin again.

"What did he do Rainbow?" Spitfire asked as she tried to grab the papers, only to be pushed away by Rainbow.

"This little idiot" Rainbow said, emphasizing her words by hitting Soarin again, "Got Applejack pregnant"

"Nice one So-" Spitfire started to say before being cut off by a loud scream from down the road. Applejack recognized the scream and started to back away, Rainbow and Spitfire doing the same, but Soarin stood perfectly still, petrified by what was coming at him.

"SOARIN!" Big Mac screamed, charging full speed down the road at Soarin, "YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET EVER TALKING TO MY SISTER!"

"Hey Soarin?" Applejack asked calmly.

"Yeah?" Soarin squeaked out, still petrified by fear.

"You had better start running"

Chapter 4: Run For The Hills!

It was another peaceful day in Ponyville. Or at least it was until the biggest stallion in town started to chase down a Wonderbolt. The two of them had started to race around town, quickly followed by Rainbow Dash, Spitfire, and Applejack, all three of them trying to save Soarin's life.

"Big Mac, stop chasing him!" Rainbow shouted, trying to get heard over the wind. Big Mac could probably run faster than the Ponyville express at this point.

"I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!" Big Mac shouted, pushing himself harder to catch up to Soarin. Soarin has tried to fly away from Big Mac, but he still somehow managed to follow him no matter how high he went. The five of them had been running for at least three hours now, and the three mares that were running with them were starting to get tired.

"Soarin!" Applejack shouted,  tripping over a tree root. She had been following them by sound, but every now and then she tripped up, but this time she lost her footing. Soarin quickly took a sharp turn, nearly getting run over by Big Mac in the process, and picked up Applejack, now flying in the opposite direction. Applejack was holding onto Soarin's neck as tight as she could.

"Why don't you just fly away?!" Applejack screamed, feeling Soarin jump over something.

"I've tried like five times!" Soarin shouted, grunting as he had to duck under a branch, "He just won't stop chasing me!". He grunted again as he took a sharp turn, nearly throwing Applejack off. She groaned as she struggled to stay on Soarin's back, having to ride him like a bull, with her hind legs holding her onto Soarin.

"Hey, watch where you put your hooves!" Soarin shouted as Applejack hit something between his hind legs. She blushed when the realized what she hit. She quickly turned her head sideways so she could hear Big Mac behind them. He was still there, pounding along behind them, throwing dirt up everywhere, but she couldn't hear Rainbow or Spitfire anymore. Did they fall back to take a break?

"HOLD ON TIGHT!" Soarin shouted, causing Applejack to turn her head back forwards, holding on tighter than she was before. She could feel herself suddenly get pulled to the back, meaning he had shot straight up. Before she could ask what was going on she felt herself get thrown upwards, letting her know that he decided to level himself off.

"Why'd you stop?" Applejack asked, bringing herself next to Soarin's head.

"Because if I kept going we would end up in ghastly gorge" Soarin said flatly. Applejack paused for a second, trying to hear if her brother had stopped too, but a sudden yelp from Soarin distracted her.

"What happened?" Applejack asked as she felt Soarin start to move again.

"HE'S THROWING ROCKS AT US!" Soarin shouted, starting to pick up speed as he flew away. Applejack heard a rock go flying past, most likely barely missing Soarin's wing. Another rock came flying up, hitting Applejack in the flank.

"FLY FASTER SOARIN" Applejack cried, yet another rock flying up, this time hitting Soarin's flank.

"I'm trying, by Celestia, I'M TRYING!" Soarin cried, a rock hitting right in the chin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Down in Ponyville park two ponies were laying next to each other on a picnic blanket, cuddling up next to each other. They had just finished eating lunch and were now enjoying each other's company, giving each other a kiss every now and then. The stallion lifted his head up to see what time it was when a rock hit him right between the eyes.

"Are you okay?!" the mare next to him shouted as she jumped in front of the stallion, looking into his face.

"Where did a rock come from?" the stallion said while rubbing his head, a small trickle of blood coming down his nose.

"Give me a second, I'll grab a band aid" the mare said, quickly using her magic to pull a band aid out of her bag, which was just a few feet away. She quickly put the band aid on the stallion's head, kissing where she had put the band aid.

"Thanks muffin" the stallion said, looking up to kiss the mare. They quickly kissed, breaking apart when they heard shouting coming from nearby. They looked over to see a blue Pegasus with an orange Earth pony on his back, the two of them being chased by a large red Earth pony. The couple quickly jumped out of the way, managing to hear a small sorry as the blue Pegasus flew past. A few seconds later the Earth pony ran past, getting caught up in their picnic blanket and flying to the ground.

"What in tarnation?!" the stallion shouted as he got to his feet, the voice sounding familiar to the two ponies who's date he had interrupted.

"Big Mac?" the mare asked quietly.

"Eeyup" Big Mac said as he turned to the couple, "Sorry about that, but I gotta go". He quickly turned around and continued to chase after the Pegasus.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hope we didn't mess up their picnic" Soarin said as he looked back to see what had happened to Big Mac. He chuckled when Big Mac got caught in the picnic blanket, causing him to take a dive.

"What happened?" Applejack asked when she heard the loud thud Big Mac had made when he fell.

"He chased me through the park, making me interrupt a picnic and then he got caught in the ponies' blanket" Soarin said smugly, still laughing at Big Mac's fall. Applejack grinned as she thought about her brother tripping on a picnic blanket, but got serious again when she heard Soarin swear under his breath.

"What is it?" Applejack asked, feeling Soarin slow down.

"He's back up, but now we're in Ponyville" Soarin said, swearing again as he moved from side to side, most likely dodging buildings and ponies. Every now and then Applejack could hear parts of conversations.

"Vinyl, you need to learn to appreciate classical music"

"Colgate, where's my wine?!"

"Derpy come on, we need to get back to the TARDIS"

"Sis?"

The last voice caused Soarin to stop, making Applejack squish up against him. Soarin quickly let Applejack off, and she heard three ponies walk towards her.

"What's going on sis?" Applebloom asked quietly, the sight of her riding on Soarin's back confusing her.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle echoed from either side of Applebloom.

"Well, currently we are running from your brother" Soarin said sarcastically, "but we have also interrupted a picnic, caused mass chaos in the market, and scared Mayor Mare"

"Yeah..." Applejack said slowly, "Wait when did we scare the mayor?"

"A few minutes ago when we went shooting past her" Soarin said honestly. The two ponies' conversation made the fillies burst out in laughter, but they stopped when they heard the sound of hooves pounding on the ground steadily growing louder.

"SOARIN!"

"Was that Big Mac?" Scootaloo asked.

"Eeyup" Applebloom said sadly, walking towards the sound of her brother running. She stopped in her brother's path, forcing him to slow down and come to a stop in front of her.

"What are you doing, I could have hit you!" Big Mac shouted, but Applebloom didn't move.

"I stopped because I want to know why you're chasing Soarin and sis through town" Applebloom said calmly.

"He got her pregnant, he deserves to be in pain!" Big Mac growled, his hooves digging into the dirt beneath him.

"Hey sis?" Applebloom asked loudly.

"Yeah?" Applejack replied, not sure what Applebloom was doing.

"Are you okay with the fact that Soarin got you pregnant?" Applebloom asked, causing Big Mac to growl.

"Well, uh, yeah..." Applejack said shyly, shrinking away from Big Mac, bumping into Soarin as she did. Soarin gasped quietly when she hit him, but then her quickly put a hoof around her neck.

"But..." Big Mac said as he stepped forward, "Why are you okay with this?"

"Because it's my fault" Applejack said flatly, making Big Mac groan.

"Why did you have to go and do that sis?" Big Mac moaned, now realizing that he had just chased Soarin all around Ponyville for no reason at all. Applejack had obviously given Soarin her consent, so what business did Big Mac have with them anymore, but one thing still bugged him.

"Do you two plan on getting married now that you have a child together?"

"Well, uh..." Soarin said, rubbing the back of his head, "I don't know yet"

"What?!" Big Mac said quickly, his hooves digging back into the ground. Applejack quickly reached her hoof out to calm Big Mac down, lowering it after he stood back up again.

"We haven't discussed that yet, but don't worry, we'll talk tonight" Applejack said sternly, turning her head towards Soarin as she finished. If she could see she would be giving him the stink eye right now. She could feel him back away slowly, laughing nervously as he did.

"Where do you think you're going?" Applejack asked coldly, making Soarin stop immediately.

"Nowhere!" Soarin said quickly as he ran back to Applejack's side as fast as he could. He laughed nervously, making Applejack think Big Mac was eyeing him down. Before she could suggest heading back to the farm she heard two pairs of wings flapping nearby.

"Did you finally give up Soarin?" Spitfire asked mockingly.

"Yeah what gives, I was hoping to see some action" Rainbow said while laughing, Spitfire joining in seconds later.

"No, we explained what was going on" Soarin said angrily, not liking the fact that Spitfire and Rainbow wanted to see him get hurt. Applejack laughed with them, making Soarin groan.

"Aww, well, at least things are okay between you two now" Spitfire said as she landed next to Soarin, patting him on the back.

"Yeah, but did you tell him yet Soarin?" Rainbow asked as she landed next to Big Mac.

"Tell him what?" Soarin asked bluntly, not sure what she was talking about. Rainbow didn't reply, but Applejack could hear her whisper something to Big Mac, making him growl and dig his hooves into the ground again.

"SOARIN!" Big Mac shouted, preparing to charge at Soarin again. Soarin quickly let go of Applejack, flying away as fast as he could so he wouldn't be beaten to a pulp by Big Mac. Whatever Rainbow had said to Big Mac had obviously made him hate Soarin again.

"What did you say Rainbow" Spitfire asked as she laughed.

"That he has a girlfriend already" Rainbow said as she joined Spitfire in laughing.

"Where is Soarin flying off too now?" Applejack asked, wanting to know if where he was going was going to keep him safe from Big Mac.

"Looks like he's going to go over the hills between us and Canterlot" Spitfire said quietly as she took off to get a better view, "Yup, he's running to the hills"

"I hope he can keep flying at that speed or Applejack here is going to be a single mom" Rainbow said as she started to laugh again, soon to be joined in by both Spitfire and Applejack. They all knew he would be fine, eventually Big Mac would give up and decided to wait for him at the farm. Applejack made a mental note to tell Big Mac that Rainbow was just joking later, but for now all she wanted to do was lay down. It had been one crazy day so far, and she was tired from it already.

"Hey Applebloom?" Applejack asked loudly after hearing her start to walk away.

"Yeah sis?" Applebloom replied, turning to face her.

"Mind helping me get home?" Applejack asked as she giggled, thinking about how Soarin is going to react when he gets back to the house.

Chapter 5: Love Life

"Sorry for chasing you like that" Big Mac said as he sat down on the couch in the Apple family's house. He had just gotten back after walking all the way back from Vanhoover. Soarin managed to fly home, so he had gotten back about an hour earlier. When he got back he went for a well earned bath, just coming out as Big Mac came inside.

"It's fine, just as long as I don't have to fear for my life tonight" Soarin said as he dried his mane with a towel Applebloom had handed to him. After he finished drying himself off he handed the towel back to Applebloom, how ran out of the room to put it in the laundry room. Soarin sat down on the other couch next to Applejack and put his hoof around her neck.

"Don't worry, but Rainbow on the other hand..." Big Mac said slowly, turning on the couch to face the blue mare beside him. Rainbow laughed nervously, scooting away from Big Mac, but he leaned over towards her. Applejack could hear a small kissing noise coming from the two of them, making her speak up for the first time since he got home.

"Is there something you want to tell me Big Mac?" Applejack asked, titling her head to the side.

"Eenope" Big Mac said, but Applejack could tell he was lying.

"How about you Rainbow?" Applejack asked, but she felt Soarin lean in towards her.

"She's probably not going to-" Soarin started to say, but was cut off by Rainbow Dash.

"Well, one day I was napping out in the orchard, and one thing led to another, and..." Rainbow said, her tone letting Applejack know that she was blushing. She briefly thought about what would have led to her brother and one of her best friends to get together, but she decided her time would be better spent figuring out her own love life. Applejack leaned against Soarin, tilting her heard up so she could nuzzle up against Soarin's neck.

"Can we go upstairs now Soarin?" Applejack asked sweetly, and when she felt Soarin start to stand up she smiled. It was time for them to figure out what was going to happen with the two of them. She let Soarin wrap his wing around her as they walked up the stairs, pausing when Soarin turned back to yell down the stairs.

"If you two decide to come upstairs, can you keep it down, me and Applejack really need to talk" Soarin said loudly, chuckling as he heard Applebloom asked Big Mac what they would do upstairs that would be loud. Applejack shoved him lightly, but joined in on his laughter, the two of them laughing as they walked to her room. When they got inside Soarin lef Applejack to her bed to sit down, quickly running to shut the door before they started talking.

"So..." Soarin said slowly as he walked back to the bed, taking a seat next to Applejack.

"So?" Applejack said, somewhat annoyed, "I think it's pretty obvious what we have to talk about"

"I know, I just didn't know how to start a conversation like this" Soarin said flatly before sighing, "Do you want to be serious?"

"I think it's already pretty serious Soarin" Applejack said in a condescending tone of voice.

"I meant, do you want to be together, you know, as a couple" Soarin said while facehoofing.

"Oh" Applejack said quickly, blushing as she realized her mistake, "I'm okay with that if you are"

"Really?" Soarin said, his joy showing through his voice. Before Applejack could respond he hugged her tight, nuzzling his head into the crook of her neck. Applejack smiled as she rubbed a hoof through Soarin's mane, nuzzling her chin against the top of Soarin's head. The two of them continued to cuddle until they heard a chorus of DAW's from behind them. They turned around, and before Applejack could ask what was going on Soarin spoke up.

"Why are you guys snooping in on us?" Soarin asked flatly, annoyed at the two Pegasi outside the window.

"Yeah, or else we wouldn't know when Mac and Dash could go upstairs" Spitfire said mockingly. A thump from outside let Applejack know that Rainbow was outside with Spitfire, and had just punched her. Spitfire continued to laugh before Soarin asked the obvious question.

"When did you get here?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

After they found out that Spitfire had shown up just after the two of them had gone upstairs, the five of them, Big Mac, Soarin, Applejack, Spitfire, and Rainbow Dash, sat down in the kitchen as Granny Smith prepared dinner. They had been having idle conversation but when they started to talk about Applejack's pregnancy Granny Smith jumped in.

"Who got my grandbaby pergnant?" Granny Smith asked, staring Soarin down from across the room.

"It totally wasn't Soarin" Rainbow said sarcastically, and to no one's surprise Granny Smith believed her. She nodded quickly as she went back to making soup. The ponies at the table laughed together, which made Granny Smith turn back around, banging her hooves on the table.

"Were you getting smart with me young lady?!" Granny Smith said loudly as she leaned against the table angrily.

"Uh, Granny, it actually was me that got Applejack pregnant" Soarin said apologetically, but he quickly yelped as Granny Smith jumped across the table as if she was a young mare again, pulling him to the ground. Soarin started to whimper as Granny Smith held him down, staring him down as he tried to wriggle away. She stood up quickly, her hip popping loudly as she did, and then helped Soarin up.

"Welcome to the family" Granny said happily, making Soarin make a confused noise. Applejack could tell that everypony in the room was watching Granny Smith carefully for the rest of the night. Eventually they said goodbye to Spitfire, but Rainbow decided to stay the night.

"Are you guys going to be loud tonight?" Applebloom asked innocently, but she ended up making Granny Smith look up from her book angrily.

"Why would they be loud tonight?" Granny Smith asked coldly, making Big Mac take a step back. No matter how big he got he would always fear his grandmother. He slowly started to speak, but was interrupted by Rainbow.

"No reason, Applebloom just wanted to make sure we kept it down if we talked later" Rainbow said, barely managing to hide the fact that she way lying. Thankfully Granny Smith bought it and went back to reading her book. After they made sure Granny wasn't going to snoop on them the two couples and Applebloom went upstairs and headed towards their respective rooms. Just as Soarin was about to go to the guest room he heard Applejack call for him from her bed.

"Can you stay here tonight?"

Soarin quickly checked to make sure Granny wasn't going to see him go back into Applejack's room before he shut the door. After the door was shut he walked over to the bed and laid down on the floor next to it. Applejack quickly reached over the edge of her bed and gave him a light whack to the back of the head.

"I meant, can you sleep with me in my bed tonight, stupid" Applejack said lightheartedly, knowing Soarin did it because he didn't want to intrude on her personal space without her permission. Soarin quickly climbed into the bed, laying down next to Applejack, who quickly turned over to face the window so her back was to Soarin.

"I can go to the guest room if you want me to, if you changed your mind" Soarin said quietly, a hint of sadness in his voice. He probably thought she was giving him the cold shoulder all of a sudden.

"No, stay here, I just moved this way so we could get more comfortable" Applejack said honestly, as she turned her head so she could look at Soarin, "Just face the same way as me, you'll see". Soarin was happy to oblige and turned around, now facing Applejack's back. As soon as he was in a comfortable position Applejack moved back, placing herself between his legs and nuzzling her head into his chin.

"See, isn't this more comfortable?" Applejack said as Soarin hugged her, making her giggle.

"Yes, it is, goodnight" Soarin said as he hugged her tight before passing out immediately. Applejack thought for a second about why he would fall asleep so fast, but she guessed it was because of all the running he had done that day, so she instead decided to try and get some sleep herself. Just before she fell asleep she felt Soarin hug her even tighter, as if she was a giant teddy bear. After that she managed to fall asleep rather easily, but before she did she whispered one last thing to the sleeping Pegasus.

"I love you Soarin"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning everypony in the house awoke to the sound of Granny Smith ringing the bell for breakfast. Soairn and Applejack were the last ones down guessing by the amount of noise coming from the kitchen as they left their room.

"Pass the syrup!"

"Here ya go, pass the eggs?"

"Eeyup. More hay bacon?"

"No thanks lover boy"

When Soarin and Applejack entered the kitchen everypony stopped talking and looked at the two ponies who looked like they had just been through a wind storm.

"Nice hair Applejack" Rainbow said jokingly, "You too Soarin"

"What?" Soarin asked groggily, still partially asleep. Applebloom ran off and quickly came back, handing Soarin what Applejack guessed was a mirror.

"Woah, our mane's look really crazy" Soarin said as he moved the mirror around, making sure to examine every inch of his head, "I like it!"

"Why do you always like the crazy stuff Soarin?" Rainbow asked flatly. With the way his mane looked she thought it was a good thing Applejack was blind, or their relationship would have been really short lived.

"Hey, I'm standin right here!" Applejack quipped, but she laughed soon after, along with everypony who was in the kitchen. For the rest of the morning the six ponies in the Apple family house had fun, enjoying each other's company until Big Mac and Rainbow had to get their daily jobs done. According to Rainbow the weather was going to be perfect for a day out on the town, and Soarin and Applejack were going to take full advantage of it. After Soarin cleaned himself and Applejack up they headed out, planning on having a carefree day in Ponyville.

Chapter 6: More Apples In The Tree

It has been three months since Applejack had gotten pregnant, and things had been going okay. Rainbow Dash and Mac had come out about their relationship, and Soarin and Applejack had started officially dating. Granny Smith would occasionally pester Soarin to pop the question, but every time he brought it up with Applejack she always told him to wait. She wasn't exactly ready to commit herself completely, she wanted to make sure that Soarin was the stallion for her, and didn't want to jump into a marriage with him just because he got her pregnant.

Today was Applejack's three month check up with Doctor Stable, but Rainbow was taking her instead of Soarin. He tried to tell Rainbow she didn't need to do it, but she forced him to let her go. Applejack couldn't care less, she knew it wouldn't have mattered who took her, until Rainbow said she wanted to talk to Doctor Stable about something. That worried Applejack since Rainbow looked physically okay, and there was only one other reason why she'd have to talk with Doctor Stable.

"Good morning Ms. Apple, Ms. Dash" Doctor Stable said as he walked up next to the two mares while they were walking up the road to the hospital. He had booked Applejack first thing in the morning so she didn't have to go through the regular everyday traffic of Ponyville.

"Mornin' Doc" Applejack said happily, she liked talking to the Doctor, his happy disposition always managed to brighten her day.

"Soarin busy today?" Stable asked politely. Applejack knew him and Soarin would crack jokes while Applejack was scanned, and other the past three months the two of them had become best friends. She decided it was just male bonding at work, but Soarin was probably talking about weird things behind her back.

"No, I came because I, uh..." Rainbow trailed off as she pulled away from Applejack, "Need to talk to you about something"

"Ah, are there more apples growing on the tree?" Stable said cheerfully, yelping quietly as Rainbow punched him in the shoulder. Applejack laughed, her hyper sensitive hearing gave her a hint at why Rainbow was coming along, and she knew what was going on.

"Am I going to have a wedding buddy?" Applejack laughed, making Rainbow turn around quickly, cursing under her breath.

"Damn you and your sensitive hearing" Rainbow muttered angrily as she went back to her place beside Applejack.

"I heard that" Applejack said with a smile, both her and Doctor Stable bursting out into laughter as Rainbow cursed again, picking up her pace out of anger.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well Ms. Apple, it looks as if everything is going well, but we can't tell their race at this time" Doctor Stable said as he flipped through Applejack's chart, ignoring Applejack's gaping mouth for an entire minute.

"Something wrong Ms. Apple?"

"Did you just say 'their' race?" Applejack said slowly, making sure she heard him right.

"Oh did I forget to mention that?" Doctor Stable said as he put the chart down on his desk, "You're having twin girls!"

"WHAT?!" Applejack shouted, not being prepared for twins. How was she going to take care of them both? Was she going to be able to give birth to both of them safely? Were they both going to be okay? Doctor Stable noticed Applejack's worried look and reached across his desk to put his hoof on her shoulder.

"Don't worry, they are both doing fine, just keep doing what you have and everything will be okay" Doctor Stable said in a calming tone, making Applejack calm down. She continued to breath heavily for a few seconds before letting out a loud sigh. Everything was good so far, and with her extremely attentive partner she knew there was no way anything could endanger her babies.

"Thanks Doc" Applejack said as she got up, moving her hoof along the wall to find the door to the lobby. After a few minutes she found her way to the lobby and told Rainbow it was her turn to see Doctor Stable. Within twenty minutes she heard Rainbow shouting in anguish from inside Doctor Stable's office.

"NO, NO, NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" Rainbow cried as she ran out of the office, slamming the door open and pushing ponies out of her way as she ran to pull Applejack out of the hospital. When she got a hold of Applejack's hoof she pulled her out of the hospital as fast as she could, nearly dragging her along the ground before she took off, carrying Applejack from below.

"WHAT'S WRONG?" Applejack shouted, trying to be heard over the wind as Rainbow flew as fast as she could.

"HE SAID THAT I WAS PREGNANT!" Rainbow cried back, tears starting to fall from her face. Applejack wasn't sure why Rainbow was so opposed to being pregnant, until she remembered a conversation they had with their friends after Applejack's pregnancy began public...

"Oh I could never become pregnant at my age" Rarity said as she took a sip from her tea cup, "It would just get it the way of my business"

"But what if it was with somepony you loved?" Fluttershy asked timidly.

"I would take necessary precautions to make sure I don't get pregnant after we have our fun" Rarity said as she poured herself another cup of tea while looking at Applejack disapprovingly, "Like some mares should have done"

"Rarity, don't act that way" Twilight said angrily, noticing the way Rarity threw Applejack out into the open.

"Well how would you feel it that happened to you Twilight?" Rarity asked angrily.

"I would make sure the baby grows well and then raise it properly" Twilight said calmly as she pulled out five books from the shelves around her about pony pregnancy, making Rarity roll her eyes.

"What about the rest of you?" Twilight asked as she put the books back.

"Oh, uh, I don't know..." Fluttershy said quietly, barely audible to anypony other than Applejack.

"I'd probably feed it lots of cupcakes and muffins!" Pinkie shouted happily, bouncing around the library as she started listing off her favourite desserts.

"How about you Rainbow?" Applejack asked with a smile, looking in the direction that she heard wing flaps coming from.

"I'd never be able to survive being pregnant, I'd probably do something reckless and mess it up" Rainbow said honestly, "But I don't think I'll get pregnant anytime soon anyways, it'd mean I'd never be able to be a Wonderbolt if I got pregnant!

"Rainbow, are you okay?" Applejack asked softly as Rainbow began to land near Sweet Apple Acres, tears flowing down her face.

"How will I become a Wonderbolt now?!" Rainbow cried, getting both Soarin and Big Mac's attention from their respective places on the farm, "They won't accept a pregnant mare!"

"Pregnant?" Big Mac asked slowly as he got withing ear shot of the two mares, making Rainbow gasp.

"Mac, I'm so, so, so, sorry!" Rainbow said quickly as she ran over to Mac, throwing herself against him. She cried into his chest until he pulled her off of him.

"Rainbow, it's okay, I'm happy for us" Mac said sweetly, pulling Rainbow into a deep hug, making her gasp loudly. Soarin had just landed next to Applejack, just in time to see Rainbow break down into tears. With her being pregnant her life long goal of being a Wonderbolt being taken away from her by her own stupidity.

"What's going on?" Soarin asked quietly as he leaned in towards Applejack.

"Rainbow's pregnant" Applejack whispered back, "but I have something bigger to tell you"

"What is it?" Soarin asked quickly, afraid that she had news that the babies weren't okay.

"We're having twins" Applejack said, tears forming in her eyes as she reached forward to hug Soarin. He accepted her hug and sat down with her, hugging her tightly. After a few seconds the news hit him and he started to cry softly, gaining the attention of the other couple, which had just broken apart.

"What's goin' on?" Big Mac asked as he walked over.

"It's twins!" Soarin shouted happily, and very soon after Big Mac and Rainbow joined in on their hug, all four of them crying in happiness. Not only were both Applejack and Rainbow Dash pregnant, but they going to bring three more Apples into the world. After a few minutes Granny Smith came outside to see what the commotion was, and when she heard the news she joined in on the hug as well, smiling happily.

"What's goin' on?" Applebloom asked when she came up the road with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, coming across a giant pile of ponies crying happily.

"I'm having twins!" Applejack cried, making Applebloom and Sweetie Belle run into the group as well, smiling happily.

"And I'm pregnant!" Rainbow shouted afterwards, inviting Scootaloo to join in on the mass hug that was going on in the path up to Sweet Apple Acres. After what seemed like hours the group broke apart, all of their cheeks hurting from smiling for so long. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle had to quickly say goodbye because it was so late when they broke apart, and they ran home together, still smiling happily.

"So what happens now?" Applebloom asked innocently, making both couples look at each other in confusion. They hadn't thought about that, and hadn't come to a decision yet.

"We, don't, know..." the four ponies said slowly together, looking at each other worriedly. Well, Applejack just turned her head in the general direction of where Soarin was, but the point was still the same, what were they going to do now?

"Am I going to have to get the shotgun?" Granny said flatly, making everypony turn to her in confusion.

"What's a shotgun, and why do you need it?" Soarin, Rainbow and Applebloom asked together, not familiar with the idea of a shotgun.

"She means that if we don't figure it out soon she's going to make us get married" Big Mac said quietly.

"How is she going to do that?" Rainbow asked in confusion, not seeing how a frail old mare like Granny Smith could make anypony get married.

"A shotgun is a weapon, she's going to point it at Soarin and Big Mac and make them marry us if we don't  decide this on out own" Applejack said as she turned her heard in Rainbow's general direction.

"Oh, dear..." Soarin said slowly before turning to face Big Mac, "Want to go ring shopping tomorrow?"

"Eeyup!"

Chapter 7: Babies and Rings

At the crack of dawn Soarin and Big Mac met out front of the farm house. Today was the day they went out into Ponyville and spent a whole ton of bits on fancy rings for their special somepony. Sadly, unlike many other stallions, they did not plan ahead of time to go the store, and therefore, were completely, and utterly, clueless as to what they were looking for. Overnight they had attempted to get information out of their others, but were left with nothing but a four word answer.

"Just get a ring"

The two stallions sighed as they remembered those words. For a moment they stopped and looked at each other, and couldn't help but laugh at the situation they were in.

"Who would have thought we'd be looking for rings together after you chased me through town?" Soarin said while laughing cheerfully.

"Who would have thought we'd be brother in-laws!" Big Mac said happily, laughing heartily. The two of them continued to laugh as they entered town, their laughter eventually waking up Ponyville's resident drama queen, Rarity.

"Will you two knock it off?!" she shouted from her boutique, which was at least seven buildings away from them. This caused many of the other stallions around the boutique to start laughing as well, livening up their morning before a tough day at work. There was a very audible sigh from Rarity's boutique as she shoved her head under her pillow in an attempt to drown out the laughter. Although her plan backfired as instead of drowning out the laughter, she only made it louder. Soarin and Big Mac continued to laugh until they reached their destination, Ponyville Fine Jewelry.

"Ready?" Big Mac asked, his eyes widening as he looked through the front windows, seeing the large assortment of rings, necklaces, and earrings.

"Ready as I'll ever be" Soarin said with a sigh before walking into the shop. Inside there were display cases on every inch of the wall, and in the middle there was a semicircle display case surrounding a rather old looking stallion. He smiled happily as they entered the store, laughing quietly to himself as their jaws dropped. There were rings everywhere, in every shape, size, and metal, along with every possible gemstone shape and color.

"Holy..." Big Mac said slowly as he scanned the right side of the stored.

"...Moley" Soarin continued as he scanned the left side. With both of them being rather oblivious to a mare's jewelry for most of their lives they were utterly amazed at how many choices they were now faced with. Gold or Silver? Which gemstone? Would they like a special cut?

"We're going to be here for a while..." Soarin said as he walked over to a display case filled with emerald rings, matching Applejack's old eye color.

"Eeyup" Big Mac said as he walked over to the amethyst display case, preparing to spend hours staring at each and every ring inside it. Both stallions had decided to make the rings special, and have them match some part of their other's body, but with the number of choices they had just for eye color...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I think my eyes are going to pop out of my skull!" Soarin cried as he rubbed his eyes furiously.

"Eeyup!" Big Mac quickly said, rubbing his eyes as well. They had been looking at rings for the entire morning and their eyesight was starting to get blurry from staring at shiny objects for such a long time. As they sat down to rub their eyes with both forelegs they heard the door open for the first time since they arrived.

"I don't see why I had to come along, it's your job to find me a ring" a white Unicorn mare with two tone red hair said as she walked into the store beside a chocolate toned Pegasus with brown hair. The mare was obviously annoyed with the stallion, but she didn't seem to mind being in the shop.

"I know that, but I don't know a thing about rings, nor do I know what kind of ring you want" the stallion said in an irritated tone of voice.

"Whatever, let's look in here" the mare said while pointing at the sapphire rings. The stallion lowered his head quickly and trotted over, looking into the case intently.

"How about that one muffin?" the stallion said pointing to a spot in the display case.

"No, not that one" the mare said as she shook her head.

"This one?" the stallion asked, pointing at another ring.

"No" the mare replied flatly.

"This one?" the stallion asked desperately.

"No Choco, why don't we look at that case over there?" the mare said while pointing at the emerald case. The stallion reluctantly followed her over, obviously not enjoying his time in the store. Soarin and Big Mac watched the couple as they walked around the store, looking for the mare's perfect ring. Eventually they got to the last display case in the store when the mare finally said yes to a ring.

"You sure you want a moonstone ring muffin?" the stallion asked carefully, not wanting to upset the mare. The mare nodded enthusiastically and pulled the stallion towards the store owner, who happily took his bits in exchange for the ring. Before the stallion could grab the ring the mare pulled it away from him, sliding in onto her horn proudly.

"How does it look?" the mare asked cheerfully, smiling at the stallion.

"Great!" the stallion said in actual enthusiasm, which got him a big kiss from the mare. As they walked out of the store she walked up close to his side and let him put his wing around her. Soarin and Big Mac watched through the store windows as they walked away, kissing each other every few steps out of happiness.

"I hate that guy" Soarin said bluntly.

"Me too" Big Mac said as he turned around to look at more rings, "At least his mare helped him find a ring..."

"Took the words right out of my mouth" Soarin groaned as he continued his search as well. The two of them still had a long day ahead of them...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, back on Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack and Rainbow were sitting on Applejack's bed, chatting about random things to pass the time. Every now and then they would talk about Soarin or Big Mac, but the subject usually changed before their thoughts could change to how their pregnancy changed their lives.

"So, what are you going to do after the wedding?" Rainbow asked, having officially run out of other things to talk about.

"I don't know, probably stay at home with the twins while he goes off a does his Wonderbolts thing" Applejack said honestly. Neither of them had really talked with their special somepony about what was going to happy once they were married, and with Applejack being blind her options were severely limited.

"Hey AJ?" Rainbow asked quietly.

"Yeah Rainbow?" Applejack asked back, worried about her friends tone of voice.

"Are you ready to be a mom?" Rainbow asked nervously, but Applejack could understand her worries, or so she thought.

"Of course I am, I love kids, and even with me being blind and all, I'll still love 'em to death" Applejack said cheerfully, but she quickly noticed a rather depressing atmosphere in the room.

"I don't think I'm ready to be a mother again..." Rainbow said quietly, trying to hold back tears. Applejack quickly put a leg around her, pulling her into a hug.

"What do you mean by again Rainbow?" Applejack asked while Rainbow silently cried into her chest.

"You know how Scootaloo doesn't seem to have parents right?" Rainbow asked through the tears.

"Yeah, what about it?" Applejack asked, trying to put two and two together, "Are you sayin' that..."

"I'm her mother" Rainbow said as her tears started to force their way out, drenching her face along with Applejack's chest, "I had to give her up, or else..."

"What happened Rainbow?" Applejack asked worriedly as she patted Rainbow on the back.

"You remember the bullies from the best young flier competition, right?" Rainbow asked, her tears still coming out at a fast rate.

"Yeah...?" Applejack asked worriedly. If Rainbow was about to say what she thinks she is...

"One time, after speedster practice they followed me, and when every other filly had left the change room they..." Rainbow said, breaking out into tears again, unable to talk.

"I'm so sorry Rainbow..." Applejack said sadly as she rubbed Rainbow's back, hugging her with her other leg in an attempt to comfort her, but there wasn't much a friend could do about something like that. After a few minutes of crying Rainbow had calmed down enough to talk again and sat up, breaking Applejack's hug.

"I got pregnant, and because I was still in school I had to give the baby up..." Rainbow said sadly, thinking back to the time she had spent in a doctor's office after what happened.

"I'm guessing it was Scootaloo?" Applejack asked carefully, not wanting to make Rainbow start crying again. Rainbow leaned back into Applejack and nodded, once again crying so much that talking was impossible. Applejack knew that Rainbow felt like a horrible mother, but she had no idea what to say to comfort her. The two of them stayed there for almost an hour before Rainbow stopped crying completely.

"Thanks for listening Applejack" Rainbow said as she got off of the bed with Applejack close behind.

"That's what sister's are for" Applejack said cheerfully, managing to get a small laugh out of Rainbow. As they made their way downstairs they could hear the cutie mark crusaders arguing in the living room, and quickly went to go help out. Applejack reminded Applebloom to be respectful of other pony's opinions, and Rainbow sat down next to Scootaloo, going over her list of things they could try, crossing out the ones that were too dangerous for them. Just as Granny Smith started to prepare dinner Soarin and Big Mac came home exhausted. Applejack got up and headed for Soarin as Rainbow made her way to Big Mac.

"Did you get it?" the two mares asked happily.

"Yes..." the stallions groaned, both of them collapsing to the ground, causing the rings to fall next to them. Applejack and Rainbow laughed as Rainbow picked up the rings. Before helping Soarin and Big Mac up the stairs Applejack asked Rainbow to describe the rings to her. Even if she couldn't see the ring, she wanted to know how it felt to have your fiance pick out a, hopefully beautiful, ring for you. As they set the stallions in their beds they gave them a quick kiss to thank them for all their hard work that day, leaving the stallions smiling as they drifted off to sleep.
