Twilight looked over her books as she said to her friend, “Alright Pinky, are you ready?”

Pinkie simply nodded her head as she said, “Yessiree bob!”

Twilight took a deep breath as she said, “This is the first time that I will change the physical appearance of a pony and we must be patient. You must be one dedicated prankster to want to make Rainbow Dash see herself and scare her silly.”

Pinkie simply nodded her head as she closed her eyes and got ready for the spell. Twilight closed her eyes and began to focus deeply, her lavender horn glowing a bright purple aura as did Pinkie’s body. A few minutes in Twilight was doing fine but the door suddenly swung open to reveal Rarity, she took a quick look around the room as she said, “Dear I need another book on fashion, oh there it is!”

Twilight’s eye opened to show Rarity was levitating a book towards her, it was nearing Twilight and Pinkie as she said with a warning, “Rarity we need to be careful not to cross magical paths.”

Rarity tilted her head as she said, “I beg your pardon darling?” It was then that Rarity’s book collided with Twilight’s horn and a large ripping sound could be heard. The girls yelped in horror as the large black hole ripped apart the library. Twilight watched as Pinkie and Rarity scrambled to her aid, doing their best to hold onto her. Twilight’s heart raced fast as she watched her books get sucked into the dark void. Rarity looked down at Twilight as they held hooves for dear life as she shouted, “I can’t hold on much longer… I… I can’t”

Twilight began to tear up with fear as she screamed, “Please don’t let go!”

Pinkie raised her head from behind Rarity as she said, “You have to trust us, Twilight. We won’t stop until we get you back in your home!”

Twilight took a quick look behind her to see the black hole growing before saying to Pinkie and Rarity, “So you’re just going to leave me?”

Rarity closed her eyes and then used all of her strength to pull Twilight to her side and said in her ear, “We will never leave you, just look up to the stars and know that somewhere we are looking in the same direction.”

Twilight let out a tear from her eye as she said with a whimper, “I believe in you.”

Rarity closed her eyes as she said, “I have to let go now but remember, we won’t stop till we found you dear!” With that Rarity let go ass all of her remaining strength left her hooves. Twilight watched as she slid towards the black hole before feeling weightless. Then there was nothing.

The grass was blowing peacefully in the wind, the sun shining brightly upon it as the birds chirped. Suddenly a blue bullet whizzed by with the sound of snickering, causing the grass to be blown in its direction. Sonic was running as fast as usual laughing and enjoying the peacefulness, it wasn’t often that Sonic was able to get time off from defeating Eggman. Unfortunately fate has other plans for Sonic, as he ran he took a deep breath of air before stopping. As he let his heart slow down his yellow fox friend caught up with him while saying with a slight pant, “Wow, I’ve never felt this free in a while.”

The blue hedgehog turned around and gave the flick of his nose as he said, “Hey, it’s the first time in about twenty years that Eggman has taken a break, although something is a little up with that.”

Tails rested his hand on Sonic’s shoulder as he said, “Let’s not let that get us down. Let’s just enjoy the day.” Almost as though he had said the magic words, a large black portal opened up next to Sonic. The blue blur could feel the sudden pull of its gravitational force sucking him in.

Sonic grabbed hold of the grass as he shouted, “You had to jinx us right?” Sonic began to panic as he felt the grass rip from under him, his heart racing as he tried thinking of a way to get out of this situation. Before he could react though, the grass gave in and the blue hero tumbled into the dark void before closing. Leaving Tails alone to panic and wonder where his best friend had gone.

The feeling of weightless was almost inexistent to the green Spartan as he simply floated in his frozen container, asleep in deep space. Unfortunately his sleep was not about to last any longer as the silent shouting of a very familiar feminine voice rang through his helmet, “Master Chief! Wake up!”

The shouting was not alone as the de frosting of the capsule also brought him back from his hibernation. Slowly he got up and quickly realized that he was right in the middle of a deep space disaster as he said, “What happened?”

Cortana lit to life upon her small holographic pad as she said, “I’m not sure, it seems that a black hole ripped through the time space continuum and appeared right beside us.”

Chief hung tightly to the small pad as the ship began to tear apart as he said, “Is there anything we can do?”
Cortana shook her head as she said, “I’m afraid not, it appeared so quickly that my sensors weren’t able to predict its presence. I guess this is it.”

Master Chief looked towards the end of the ship as he watched it be torn apart into the black void of space as he said, “Every story has an ending. This how our story ends and we must accept that.”

Suddenly Cortana’s voice changed from worry to surprize as she said, “Hold on, Chief, I’m getting a reading that this is in fact not a black hole but…”

Chief pulled himself closer, now fighting the pull of the ever strengthening gravity as he said, “What is it?”

Cortana looked back up at the green Spartan as she said, “A wormhole.” Before she could say any more, Chief lost his grip and began to be sucked into the dark void that was now a wormhole. Cortana watched in horror as the man was stretched into hero spaghetti and disappeared into the nothingness. As soon as he was gone from the universe, the wormhole closed and everything returned to normal, f this situation could even be considered normal that is. Cortana was left there, alone and staring in disbelief as she remembered the sight of Spartan 117 disappearing.

Mario was walking through a field with his younger brother Luigi as they simply talked to each other. The autumn leaves making the hypnotic crunching noises under their feet as they joked with each other after a great day full of sports. The setting was almost too good to be true. Suddenly the wind began to pick up around them; so far Luigi was feeling normal about the situation and wasn’t running away. But as soon as thunder could be heard he fell onto the ground shaking only to be comforted by his shorter yet older brother. Mario shook his head as he had a good idea that this was just a simple storm, but that idea was soon scratched as the wind began to pick up even more. Mario could feel himself sliding along the ground and began to panic, he fell to his knees and began to grab hold of whatever he could find. As the winds began to pick up more and more, a small black hole of nothingness began to open up near Mario and began to grow. Mario held on for dear life as he shouted, “Mama mia!” Eventually the wind was too strong for the red plumber and he began to slip towards the portal as he shouted in terror. Much to his surprize he felt his arm be tugged and he looked up to see his cowardly brother holding onto him. The winds were almost too strong for Luigi to handle but he was smart enough to grab onto a nearby tree as he held his brother’s hand. Mario looked up and was ready to sigh with relief but soon resumed his panic as he felt his brother’s glove slip. Luigi shouted his brother’s name loudly as he watched his red wearing brother be sucked into a void of emptiness. Luigi closed his eyes as he knew he was going to regret his idea, he then let go of the tree and let himself slide towards his brother. Luigi was only a hair away from his brother before the void sucked Mario in and closed. Leaving Luigi sitting in the middle of the field, wondering what had happened and looking at the small burning crater that was left behind.

Alex Mercer looked over the city of New York, he was looking upon the peaceful area of the city as he stood high above them at the top of a tower. Alex was ready to jump as he said to himself, “Something’s wrong here.” Before he could jump though he could feel the wind picking up around him, not too unusual seeing as he was up quite high. He looked around to see lightning emanating from a certain point at the center of the building, the force of gravity beginning to warp around him. Alex stood his ground as he began to root himself to the building; he was somewhat used to his powers by now and had learned how to make sure he stayed in one place. Alex watched as his necklace was beginning to fall towards the center of the building, not like it was being sucked in but more like it was falling towards it. Alex could feel the very same feeling of lying down on a bed, yet he was standing up. He watched as his arms dangled towards the center of the structure as the lightning began to get worse. Alex was relatively calm at the moment but soon began to feel uneasy when the ground underneath him began to give in. Alex quickly let go of that ground and began to run in place as small chunks from nearby buildings began to fly towards the black hole; Alex used these chunks to jump from one to the next and keep away from the dark void that was growing ever so strong. Alex began to regain his confidence as he realized he was gaining some distance from the hole, as soon as he turned his head he watched as a large black military helicopter tumbled towards him. Alex did his best to jump over it but completely forgot to also jump away from the hole and began to feel him get sucked in. Alex quickly transformed his arms into vines and grabbed hold of what was left of the building, his entire body receiving the feeling of him being pulled towards the ground by a freight train. Alex looked up to see the large black helicopter tumbling towards him once again. Before he could react he was knocked unconscious and was sent along with the helicopter into the dark void before it closed. Leaving the New Yorkers to wonder in horror what happened just there and then.

Link and Epona galloped into the distance as fast as they could, Link’s hat blowing in the wind as the two simply ran for fun. Link slowed down the horse to take a look at the surroundings and sighed with relief as he once again defeated Ganondorf. Epone suddenly jumped in fear as the sound of thunder clashed through the sky, Link was quick to calm her down with a pat and a carrot. Link suddenly felt his items shift to the left of him and looked in that direction to see a small tornado opening, yet this one was completely black. Epona began to panic and bucked Link off and galloped into the distance, whinnying in horror. Link slowly got to his feet and brushed himself off, he turned around to see that he was beginning to slide towards the tornado like he was on a hill. Link sat on the ground and held onto the grass only to have the wind pick up, the feeling of falling getting stronger on link and making it feel like he was on a steeper hill. The feeling grew and grew until it felt like he was on the side of a cliff, the grass gave in and Link began to fall towards the Tornado, Link quickly pulled out his hookshot and fired it at a nearby boulder to keep him in place. He then simply hung there sticking straight out towards the ever growing tornado. Link looked at the chain to see that it was beginning to break, he shook his head in horror as he mouthed the word No repeatedly. Link watched as his trusted hookshot finally gave in on him and he tumbled towards the tornado. Link closed his eyes as he finally realized that his time as a hero had finally come, the next thing he felt was weightlessness as he was engulfed in nothingness. The tornado then closed in on him and was gone as soon as it came.

Twilights eyes were still closed but she knew she was being looked upon judging by the silent whispering that was going on. Twilight tossed and turned in place as she said, “Oh Spike… thank goodness it was all a dream…”

A young man’s voice spoke up, it was calm but also filled with energy, “I’m afraid not… this isn’t a dream.” Twilight’s eyes shot open to reveal a small monkey like creature wearing overalls and a hat, as well as a blue rat like creature that only wore cloth around its hands and bright red shoes. Twilight jerked up as the blue creature gently patted her as he said, “We thought the same thing until we woke up. So far we’re the only ones in this room.”

Twilight looked around the room, it looked like the room the Wonderbolts would clean themselves off and other things Rainbow Dash wouldn’t mention. She looked around as she said, “I need to get home… Where am I?”

The blue creature sat on one side of her while patting her on the back while the red hat wearing monkey sat on the other side as he said, “No on-a knows where this-a place is.”

The blue rat slumped his head low as he said, “We’ve been locked in here for a couple of hours now. We might as well get acquainted while we wait for help. My name is Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.”

The red hat man gave a tip of his hat as he said, “Mario, Mario Mario.”

Twilight looked at the two for a couple of seconds before saying, “My name is Twilight Sparkle… Twilight Sparkle the pony?” Twilight looked over at the blue hedgehog as she said, “Funny… You don’t look like a hedgehog.”

Sonic looked back at her and with a smirk he said, “Funny… You don’t look like a pony. His is unreal, ponies can’t talk. Talking animals are impossible.”

Twilight raised an eyebrow as she said, “Likewise… So how long have you two been watching me.”

Sonic slouched down as he said, “Well ever since the rest of the group left we decided to stay back because we looked the least frightening out of all of them seeing as we had the brightest colors.”

Twilight began to rejoice a little bit as she said, “There’s more? Or am I the only of my kind?”

Mario gently placed his hand on her back as he said, “I’m-a sorry but your friends are-a no longer with you… they-a must have been-a left behind.”

Twilight began to feel terrible again when the idea of seeing her friends was scratched, but it soon changed to worry when she heard footsteps of multiple people in the distance. As the footsteps got closer Sonic leaned in and said, “Whatever you do… do not anger any of them.”

Twilight jumped back as the door slammed open to reveal another ape like creature similar to Mario, only taller and wearing different clothes. It looked to be wearing a hood and a jacket. The creature stormed into the room as he said while pointing towards the door, “We found another one unconscious, bring him in Chief.”

Twilight looked past the tall ape to see yet another ape like creature in green metal plating carrying over its shoulder yet another green wearing ape, this on dressing in cloth and carrying a long metal sword and shield. The green ape named Chief dropped the other green wearing ape onto the floor in front of them as it said, “We’re going to need you to cooperate, kid.”

The other tall ape walked up beside him as he said, “You stay out of this soldier, all you’re good at is killing. At least I’m a scientist.”

Chief stepped back ass he calmly said, “Look where that got you, freak.”

Twilight began to cower as the two began to bicker, the skinnier human walked up to Chief as he said with a tone of anger, “You better watch it, I can cut through that armour of yours like paper.”

Chief gave out a laugh as he said, “I’d like to see you try, Alex.” Alex lunged towards Chief with a jerk of his arm but didn’t strike him because Sonic jumped in saying, “Remember guys, we were all heroes where we came from so we are all going to be heroes here. Now about the tunic guy, at least me and Mario know him right?” Mario simply nodded his head before Sonic continued, “This guy can’t seem to talk so ask him yes and no questions only.”

Alex slumped down on the bench opposite of Twilight as he said, “What about the horse?”

Twilight was a little shy and scared of him but she managed to quietly say, “I’m… Twilight Sparkle…”

Alex nearly jumped out of his skin as soon as she talked and said loudly, “Talking animals! This is just unreal!”

Sonic rolled his eyes as he said, “I agree… Anyways she seems nice so let’s just try to get along.”

Chief sat down next to Sonic as he said with a sigh, “Well… from what we understand it couldn’t be the brains of Eggman that brought us all here, Sonic. The very possibility of creating multiple wormholes that funnel into one area is just absurd.”

Alex scratched at his head as he said, “We also figured out that it couldn’t be Bowser, or the Covenant that caused this anomaly, it had to be much more powerful.”

Twilight’s heart began to sink, thoughts were rushing through her head about how she could be the cause of all this. As Twilight watched the group begin to argue again she decided to do the right thing, Twilight got up and said, “I think it might have been me…” The group immediately stopped what they were doing and looked over at Twilight with mixed expressions before she continued, “I was working on a spell when my friend… when we crossed our paths and probably opened up the portal to this place.”

Alex began to furiously walk towards her as eh said with anger, “So you caused all of this?”

Twilight cowered behind the Chief as she said, “I was at fault for my own disappearance, the idea of subconsciously triggering your portals to open up would have taken much more power. If I can get out of this place maybe I can help us all figure out what is behind this.”

Almost as though it were triggered a loud voice rang through the room, “A new contestant has entered the room!” Suddenly right beside Alex a smaller human dressed in orange clothing appeared in a ball of light. When the light faded the boy stumbled to his feet, he had bright blond hair and what appeared to be Whiskers on his cheeks. The boy fell onto his bottom before the loud voice rang out, “Naruto Ichigo!”

Twilight was beginning to shake at all these things happening so soon, Twilight looked over to see the small boy before saying, “What Just happened.”

Alex picked up the boy as he said, “Stay calm kid, and no one gets hurt. We know what you are going to ask and the answer is going to be the same as it was for all of us. We have no idea where we are.”

Naruto ran his fingers through his hair before saying, “What a fall, a few seconds ago I was jumping off the edge of a cliff and fell through a black hole, next thing I know I’m here.”

Twilight slowly approached the newcomer as she said, “Yeah… we all seem to have run into a similar problem. We’ll introduce ourselves later, first we have to figure out where we are.”

Twilight nearly jumped out of her skin when the very same loud voice rang out once more, “The games shall commence in five minutes.” It was then that the man in the green tunic woke up from his sleep as he jumped off of the bench and landed flat on his face on the floor, then the man slowly got to his feet with the help of Mario and Sonic.

Alex looked towards the door as he said, “A game can never be a good thing.”

Twilight began to grow angry at whoever or whatever was the cause of this as she shouted, “A game? You call ripping ones from their lives a game? I demand to know who I… we are dealing with!”

The voice did not respond to her, instead Sonic walked up to her and said, “We’ll find out soon enough.”

The voice returned as booming as ever as it said loudly, “A new contestant has entered the game.” A hole opened up and a very bulky human wearing heavy looking armor tumbled in as the loud voice said, “Marcus Fenix!” The hole then closed behind Marcus as he was getting up.

Marcus rubbed his head as he said, “I’ve been through worse… where am I?”

Sonic began to get a little irritated as he said, “Why are they always saying that? Why can’t it ever be a hello or how do you do? We have no idea where we are!”

Fenix began to walk up to Sonic as he said, “Don’t you smart mouth me!”

Alex got in between the two as he said, “Or what? You have no weapons on you and that bulky armor makes it look like your compensating for something.”

Chief tapped Alex’s shoulder as he said, “We don’t want to be picking any fights here.”

Mario rolled his eyes as he said, “We don’t-a want fights now do we?” Link simply shouted in agreement. But the rest of the group argued.

Twilight watched the group argue until she began to get fed up and got up on one of the benches and shouted, “Alright everyone for the love of peace and harmony SHUT UP!” Twilight was surprized that she managed to get everyone’s attention and after a few seconds of silence she said, “Now what I just heard is that we are all participants in a game, now no one here has any idea what kind of game it is but no matter what kind of game it is if we stick together we can work this out right?”

Everyone began to nod in agreement before Alex piped up, “I never work in a group.”

As Alex turned around to act all mysterious like Twilight said, “So what, you’ll run the risk of losing or worse rather than have to cooperate?”

Alex slowly turned around and said in a low voice, “Fine…”

Twilight continued, “We’re all working together to solve this, we will remain in constant communication with eachother and make sure that none of us get separated from the group got it?”

The entire group nodded their heads in agreement and the loud voice rang out, “A Player has entered the game, Scorpion! A New Player has entered the game Kratos!” Suddenly two more men came out of dark holes, one dressed in yellow and black clothing while the other barely dressed at all, wearing nothing but a loincloth and boots and being covered in red tattoos.

They stared at each other as the white one said in a deep voice, “Don’t I know you from somewhere?”

The yellow one shook his head when the loud voice rang out once more, “The game shall begin… now!” Suddenly the ceiling opened up to reveal a bright light as the floor under them began to rise.

Twilight felt nervous about the games, most of the people here looked so violent except for Mario and Sonic. Sonic kneeled down beside Twilight as he said, “Just stay calm and stick with me and Mario. You’ll be safe.”

Twilight nodded her head as she said, “I hope so.”

The platform slowly rose, the sounds of gears churning and motors humming filled the heads of all the contestants. Twilight looked to her side to see Sonic nod towards her as he said over the sound of the gears, "Just stick with the colorful ones, we'll keep you safe for sure!"

Twilight looked towards Naruto, he crossed his arms and stuck out his chest, "Just stand back and watch the future hokage take care of everything."

Alex leaned over towards Chief as he whispered, "Five bucks says the kid's the first to go."

Master chief nodded his head and laughed a bit, he then pulled his weapon from his back and readied it. Twilight watched as all the other strangers did so as well, she watched as Marcus shook his weapon into roaring life as the teeth spun along the weapon. She watched as Alex nodded towards Kratos and said with a smirk, "Hey, nice tats."

Kratos snorted, "Don't look at me, mortal."

Twilit watched as Link drew his sword from its sheath, he swung it a few times to make it whistle through the air. She watched as Mario cracked his nuckles and whispered to himself, his brows lowering into an aggressive look.

Twilight turned to see Scorpion snap his neck back, his head nearly making a 180 before pulling it back to normal. She quietly gulped as she said to herself, "Oh Celestia please keep me safe."

The platform suddenly stopped, it had slowly made its way to the next floor and revealed a hallway with a light at the end. Twilight used her unicorn magic to light up the darkness that hadn't been touched by the light and called to the group, "Remember, everyone. We fight together and as a team we will succeed."

Naruto was the first to sprint past her as he boasted, "Ha! I don't need help from a horse!"

As Naruto sprinted down the hallway, sonic dashed in front of him as he said in a frustrated tone, "Listen you little dipstick, you were about to run into a game probably filled with enemies you don't even know. I don't care how strong you are, you will be torn to crap without us."

Naruto stopped, he stared int the green eyes of the blue hedgehog. He calmly sighed before saying, "Alright, but stand back when I tell you to." Naruto then waited for the rest of the group to catch up, after rejoining them he said in a curious tone, "So... does anyone know where we"

The entire group shouted in anger, "NO!"

Naruto backed away as he said, "Alright, just asking."

As the group made their way towards the exit, Twilight felt her heart sink. She began to fear what lurked out there as noise began to pierce her ears, the sound of... cheering? Twilight turned to the rest of the group to inform them of what she was hearing before Alex stopped her and said, "Scorpion here, the ninja dude,"

Before Alex could continue, Naruto snickered, "He doesn't look like a ninja."

Alex turned to the boy as he said with a mocking expression, "And you don't look like a guy. Anyways, Scorpion here said he's familiar to fighting in front of a crowd. He said to expect gruesome outcomes at the worst."

Twilight gulped, "Oh dear."

The group finally made it to the end of the tunnel, the light blinded them before revealing a large Roman coloseum. Crowds of shadowy figures filled the seats as they cheered loudly, shouting out different names of all sorts. The group slowly walked up to the white line that boxed them in, making sure not to step outside the lines in case. As they stood there, a large deep voice boomed thorough the stadium, "Welcome to the very first multiversal tournament. This year, being the first, we decided that it would be best to let them die as one. Make it a short night due to budget costs, hopefully they'll all die within the first wave."

Twilight began to panick, "Waves? Waves of what?" Twilight's heart began to race, horrible thoughts began to invade her mind before Sonic tapped her back and winked at her.

The voice continued, "Let the games... begin!"

The ground began to shake, a rumbling noise enveloped the entire stadium as the entire wall opposite to the group began to rise. While the shadows did block the physical appearances of the creatures, tiny white and yellow eyes bobbed amongst the darkness and amongst the hissing. Twilight took a step back before Chief called out, "Hey! It's the covenant, only in a swarm 500 times the size I usually face."

Naruto shouted out loud and charged, "Get ready to feel the rath of the Shadow-jut" Before he could finish his sentence, a ball of light blasted through his skull. The headless Naruto fell to the ground, lifeless. Meanwhile, Master Chief was handing Alex Mercer five dollars on account of a bet they made (Alex was quite proud).

Twilight screeched, "Naruto just died!" She truly felt like vomiting at that moment, she was a mixture of scared and disgusted by the brutality she had witnessed.

As Twilight scurried back to the back of the group, Alex and Chief slowly stepped out into center ring. Chief nodded as he pulled out a bright glowing blade and said, "Care to join me, Alex?"

The man only smirked, "My pleasure." he said. Alex began to walk forward, Twilight watched as his arm began to morph into a black mass of veins until it revealed a large and extremely sharp blade. She watched as Alex's other arm began to flatten itself out into a shelf as he shouted out, "Like the purple horse said! We fight as one!" And with that, they all charged. Twilight closed her eyes and charged with her head down, her horn glowing brightly in order to ward off some of the "covenant" as Chief called them. A couple of the reptilian freaks approached her, their weapons drawn at her head.

Twilight was almost obliterated when one of them blasted the area she was once standing in, she quickly jumped out of the way and used her magic as a pulse of energy to launch the alien into the air. She watched as the three aliens flew through the air only to be smashed into by a flying blue ball, the blue ball bouncing off of certain covenants before landing in front of Twilight to reveal Sonic. Sonic brushed his bristles back as he said nonchalantly, "Pretty cool, I know. That's what I'm all about." Sonic's eyes widened with surprise as he exclaimed, pointing behind Twilight, "Behind you!"

Twilight quickly ducked, a large bright blade brushed the tip of her ears and burnt them ever so slightly. Twilight snapped backwards and pointed her horn at the creature, she used her magic to once again send a pulse of energy at the covenant. As it flew through the air, Twilight turned to Sonic as she said with a smile, "Thanks."

Sonic tapped the tip of his nose before saying, "No problem." With that said, Sonic dashed off into the sea of creatures.

Twilight quickly turned around to see Chief chopping away at the covenant, the aliens disintegrating into light at every deadly swing and stab. Suddenly, a long black veiny arm zoomed past her head and grappled a covenant behind her. She turned around to see Alex at the other end of the arm, throwing the covenant into the air only to pull it back down and slice it in half. Alex turned around to see Twilight stare at him in awe, she couldn't tell whether to be grateful or scared. Alex simply nodded before running off as well, only to be leapt over by Kratos as he weilded ether two chained swords. Kratos smashed into the ground and shouted in anger, "Are you going to stand there or are you going to help?"

Twilight quickly backed away, she closed her eyes and told herself she needed to be part of the team as well in order to help. Mario shouted from one end of the stadium, "I can't-a keep throwing fireballs all day!" (keep in mind this is the smash bros. Mario here so he works differently.)

Twilight inhaled deeply before shouting at the top of her lungs, "Get down everyone!"

A sudden blast from her horn caused the ground to tremble, a large wall of violet energy ruptured from her horn in every direction. Each and every single covenant that hadn't already been eliminated was pretty damn dead after that blast, being vaporized and whatnot. She continued to push herself to the limits, creating a louder and louder whistle until a blow horn sounded. Twilight began calming her energy, it felt like pinching the end of a hose at first until the water supply is cut off. Twilight had eventually used up all her energy, her eyelids drooping shut. She began to wobble to her side, slowly falling unconscious. Luckily, Sonic had rushed to her side just in time to catch her as he said, "Woah, that was freakin' intense!"

Chief and Alex opened their eyes, the two had taken shelter in Chief's drop shield. The two slowly got to their feet to look at the surrounded area, littered with disintegrating covenant bodies. Alex looked towards the unconscious Twilight as he murmured, "Holy shit."

Chief shifted his armor and replaced his sword as he replied, "Damn straight. Haven't seen that much kick in such a small creature before. Then again, I've never seen a horse before... or a unicorn for that matter."

The rest of the group slowly gathered around Twilight, worried looks upon some faces as they completely disregarded Naruto's quick death (he had it coming). Sonic had his two fingers up against her neck, he motioned them to be silent and put his ear to her chest. A look of relief came upon the blue hedgehog as he sighed, "She's alive."

Almost everyone seemed to slump their shoulders in relief, most faces showing sings of hopeful joy. Before long, the large booming voice returned to silence the booing crowd, "It seems... as though they managed to pass the first challenge. They musn't have realized they had already gone through all twenty waves, using teamwork. The next challenge will begin tomorrow, return to your bunkers!" As the voice spoke, a string of lights lit the way down the hallway revealing the extreme cleanliness of the halls covered in reflective tiles. As the rest of the group walked towards the hallway, Alex stayed behind with Sonic as they attempted to lift Twilight.

After several failed attempts, Alex s0said breathlessly, "Damn, she's as heavy as a horse." Alex motioned for Sonic to step back, he slid his arms under Twilight before lifting her up like a feather onto his shoulders.

Sonic wolf-whistled In an impressed manner as he smirked, "Boy, it's not often I come by humans with strength like you."

Alex smiled a bit as he began to walk, it felt good to smile sincerely for once as he said, "And it's not often I come across a genetically enhanced hedgehog."

As the two began to walk down the hallway, Sonic turned to Alex and asked, "So tell me," the blue hedgehog began, "how did you get those radical powers?"

Alex sighed, "Well, bud, I think we'll be explaining where we're all from soon."
