Chapter 14: Evil Never Dies

Evil Never Dies

Evil.

This is a word that is so casually thrown around that its very meaning is slowly losing its credibility. What is evil anyway? Is it determine by the actions one makes under his or her sense of morality. A fundamental question is whether there is a universal, transcendent definition of evil, or whether evil is determined by one's social or cultural background. One thing is certain though, within the confines of this particular room lies one of the most Evil creatures ever to walk Equestria. Valdis The Destroyer, a twisted and unforgiving God who held no mercy for any of his subjects and ruled the EverFree Forest with no compassion or sympathy for the weak, hungry, or injured.

Two Days ago, the tyrant God was planning on attacking one of the most famous residential area known to pony kind, Ponyville, where the Legendary Bearers of the Elements of Harmony reside. You see, Valdis possessed a special ability that made him neigh but immortal and impossible to kill. Anything, and everything he physically touched, he absorbed its life essence, its energy until it is no more. It could be anything from the trees that populate the forest, to the soil that rest beneath his, to the birds that fly in the sky, and the creatures that roam the surface. None were safe from his power, and thus made his rule unchallenged and feared. All was perfect  to the evil being, he would overthrow the Royal Pony Sisters after absorbing the energy of the Bearers Of Harmony and rule over all of Equestria and then the rest of the planet. He would of been the Strongest One Their Is, everything was carefully planned out and nothing was preventing his assault. Unbeknownst to Valdis, a small wolf pup by the name of Vekk was not in favor of his eternal rule and sought out an ally in order to prevent his evil plans from coming to fruition. His prayers were answered as soon he found a warrior of mammoth proportions, and of equal and even possibly greater strength then Valdis. Now, the only thing that stood before Valdis, and his plan to conquer all forms of life, was the

The Incredible Hulk

As the two titans duked it out in the EverFree Forest, it quickly became apparent that the fight would cause incredible collateral damage and destruction. The initial contact alone created a crater and brought forth an earthquake which could be felt all the way to Ponyville. The longer the fight lasted, the more damage the titans caused to the surrounding area, and unto themselves. Valdis in the beginning was sure he would be able to easily overpower and outlast his opponent, knowing not what this creature was, but as a God himself, was overly confident in his abilities to absorb most forms of energy. Though as time went on, Valdis was beginning to doubt himself as the Hulk, no matter how hard he was hit, or how many of his amped up wolfs he sent after him, kept on advancing at him.

The Hulk just kept on coming, and it seemed as if each second made him a more deadly and angry.

As the fighting progressed, it soon became apparent who was the stronger of the two, that was until Valdis pulled out a desperate move. After a near fatal blow the Hulk inflicted upon the Wolf God, Valdis began to sacrifice dozens upon dozens of his minions for more power. Valdis consumed and absorbed all the life out of his subjects in order to gain the upper hand on the Hulk. Those sacrifices were not in vain as soon the Hulk found himself fighting a stronger, tougher and meaner version of the Demon God. It was decided very quickly that if the Hulk/Banner had to end this fight as soon as possible. They realized that the only way to end this fight quickly was to cut loose, to let his anger really show. The Hulk, lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood, after a merciless barrage of punches, slashes, and other forms of physical injury, unleashed his true power. The Hulk let loose a punch with so much incredible force, that it propelled Valdis outside of the atmosphere and all the way into space itself. Realizing that there was nothing that Valdis could physically touch to heal or power himself up more in space, took the opportunity to lay down a series of brutal and heavy punches all over Valdis body, as the two hurled down back onto the planets surface. The two of them crashed unto the surface, sending up thousands of rocks and other forms of debris as the impact created a large, burning crater. Valdis, for what it appeared to be, was finished; dead. The Hulk on the other hand~

Was perfectly fine. The Hulk soon left the scene *or reverted back to Banner* and was carried out of the surrounding destroyed area. Lucky for him because the fight gathered a lot of unwanted attention. Soon after the resulting crater was formed from the impact of the two titans, the Elite Forces of the Canterlot Royal Guard arrived on the scene and locked down the entire area, conducting various forms of research to gather more information. The most surprising thing that the ponies found, was the burning, battered, and destroyed carcass of Valdis lying on the ground in the center of the blast. Now two days later, in a top secret area in the Canterlot Mountains, a team of highly trained and intelligent ponies were conducting various test and researching the body which was presented before them. Valdis was now inside of a containment field which neutralized all if not most of his magical and physical abilities, rendering him nearly immobile and unable to do anything to conduct an escape. Many strings of magic were imbedded into this physical body, each second the strings glowed bright colors to signal that they were draining away its energy and keeping him stable for one thing was certain that the team of top secret research ponies found out. Valdis was, as incredible as it seems, not Dead.

"How Long"? Was the question that the midnight blue Alicorn asked as she gazed upon the contained Demon God. This was her first time ever looking upon the feared creature that her sister would mention. After her banishment to the moon, apparently a lot of ancient and forgotten monsters started to emerge from the darkness in hopes of taking over the planet, now that one of their protectors was gone. This was one such creature that her sister spoke of, an ancient and evil Demon God who murdered countless ponies and nearly destroyed their sacred home. Her sister rarely spoke of the evil that plagued the land after her imprisonment on the moon, but this was one that she warned to be very wary of. A young male unicorn trotted up next to the princess, levitating a clipboard in front of his face as he read off his teams current analysis.

"Well your highness, it does not seem like it is going to regain consciousness anytime soon, as the damage is very extensive. Muscle loss, severe tissue damage, lost of or great damage to various vital organs, multiple if not all bones broken or literally 'shattered' in its body. Princess Luna with all due respect, are these precautions really necessary? This creature is nothing but a loosely strung burnt sack of flesh and mass with little to almost no subconscious thought. It is alive yes, but it is comparable to a vegetable now."

Luna continued to stare at the mass of flesh that hung on the strings of magic, contemplating the words of the intelligent young unicorn. It was quiet obvious that it was of no real threat, the thing was practically dead already! But now this raised new, more frightening questions in the goddess mind. How powerful was Valdis? It was a little ridiculous that the amount of damaged that it sustained and vital organs it lost that the thing was still alive. It is a miracle, and perhaps a curse, that the creature could still possess a conscious mind. Could it still feel pain? Was it currently suffering an indescribable amount of agony as pieces of flesh hang loosely from its body? They confirmed that while most of the remaining bodily functions have ceased to operate, its nervous system was still partially active.

"What in Equestria could of done this much damage? Whatever it was, I pray that It will not harm my subjects." Princess Luna was a respectable distance away from the contained creature, just as a safety precaution after all of the tales her sister told her. Curiosity all but compelled her to take a step closer, to examine him from a much closer perspective. She was particular entranced by the creatures appearance; she always admired the wolf itself. It was one of the few creatures that actually liked her nights, even before her descent into insanity. She felt a particular spiritual connection to the wolf, a sort of primal bond that linked her moon and their animalistic behavior together in perfect cohesion. But something was different about this particular 'Wolf'. She did not so much feel a connection to it as more of a fear of it. She could sense it emanate some of its energy to its surrounding area. What she felt, was pure hatred for all living things and an insatiable hunger for power. This thing was pure Evil.

"Yes, my sister recommended caution when dealing with this particular being, and while she is away on 'Emergency Business' I am left in charge of not only Canterlot for the time being but also the research conducted on this subject. Besides, this creature has caused my sister much distress and pain in the past. I will not take her warnings lightly, and neither should you. Now that I see you have the situation under control, continue with your research with great safety and speed, I must see to it that the Sun and Moon are in proper alignment during the time of day."

Princess Luna took one last, long gaze into the empty sockets that once housed its eyes and looked for any sign of activity at all. It was quiet unnerving staring into the black nothingness that was its eye sockets, it seemed to be a physical reflection of its black and evil soul. Satisfied that it is still immobile and made no sudden movements, she turned around and began to trot towards the secret exit of the underground research facility. The secret group of research ponies quickly resumed their work, each of them doing something whether it was graphing charts, mixing various chemicals together with different compounds, or simply looking through a microscope at the sedimentary or biological life that was too small to be seen with the eye alone. Everything went without a single sign of distress, nearly peace and quiet save for the sounds of machinery operating and hooves hitting the ground. Nopony was aware however, that they were in fact being studied, watched, and weakening slowly as one, near dead creature stirred the slightest amount. A single, small, nearly unnoticeable red glow emanated from a single eye socket of Valdis~
