Chapter: 8. Spike the Brave and Glorious Dragon

Spike was swimming as fast he could towards the red themed Predator, it had spotted the Lime green and red striped Lifepod and its 2 towing individuals and headed towards them. Spike swam in its way, what caused it to try taking a bite out of the Dragon.
The double seaglider made a good wrench to keep its mouth occupied, while the pinchers were with more luck than skill dodged.

The double Seaglider would not survive the confrontation, but it was expendable in contrast to Spike. When Spike used his Crossbow to feed the creature a spiked arrow diat to its day, did it changed its course to a 160° angle and consequently away from the lifepod. While Spike was holding the trigger down until the drum magazine of the Crossbow run dry did the thrashing of the Reaper didn't stop. Eventually did the Crossbow had served its usefulness and was discarded as stomach stone for the beast.
Spike used one of the sharper turns of the Reaper angle changes to leave the double seagliders locked in the reapers maw.

Usually a Reaper could chew trough it like one snaps a toothpick in one's mouth, but it had loged itself in a diagonal angle that didn't allow the jaw to be closed on its natural line of jaw distribution. As a result it would have a surprisingly effective maw locker before it eventuelly dislodged with effort.

Spike managed to Claw at one of it pinchers and take hold of it, until he had save enough space in his opinion to let go when it moved it its open wide position. When Spike let go to let the Reaper leave, while he himself would swim back to the Lifepods.
To his surprise had a pony somehow managed to hold onto the Reapers tail.
Fluttershy take a double take when she collided with Spike mid his watery escape.

Apperently Fluttershy had senced something and come to Spike help. She only managed to hold onto the reapers left tail pincer, but she hoped when it eventuell checked its tail for a passenger it would be locked in a stare of her strongest setting.

But plans done in haste leave mutch to be desired and events often happen differently than anticipated. All in all, the sneaky Reaper female adolescent was annoyed that it's had something stuck between its maw that didn't budge just yet and continues to swim away as it's innards feel as if she swallow something acidic do to her stinging throat.

Everyone was to focused to notice the absence of Fluttershy and so it was a few minutes until Spike and Fluttershy returned before anyone noticed their absence.
Fluttershys because she had perfected the art of being ignored, despite her bright colors. Spike was thought to dive after his lost PDA.

Everyone was rather surprised when they noticed their returning together and their short encounter with death in red and black themed natural chitin armor.

Meanwhile Gilda and Giraldi where still trying to pull the bottom and top hatch open respectively to rescue the possible suffering Pod occupants.

When Giraldi wrenched the closed locked hatch from the bottom to get it open. Everycreature was confused that it was empty. Someone had to send a distress call, their voices where even if only faintly present in the background. The ponies identified it as it was sounding like Derpy Hooves and Dr. Time Turner Whooves.

The Pod had its main computer scrubbed for some reason. Also all Blueprints where deleted. Although for some reason it had multible Muffin & Cupcake recipe saved and ready for production.

'Muffin Button'.

To Pinkie Pie delight but Twilight & Gales confusion, was the entire internal material production storage filled with Muffin and Cupcake baking material. While the locker had two purple alien PDA frame like objects in it, besides more Muffins that are pink sprinkeld with pink chocolate glazing.

Before the separate Gale personalities in eatch independent PDA frame of the individual crews possessions could give one another a heated debate, was the Lifepod trough manual means inflated and shortly after temporarily welded to the exploration Lifepod construct.

After over a hour did the Lifepod was secured and its maintenance complet. While Twilight, Gilda and Gale had worked over the interior, did Giraldi and the other Griffons hold watch for other unwelcome guests from the safety of the sky.

Spike had with Fluttershy that borrowed Zephyr moded diving equipment retrieve the lost PDA, with Sharpbeak getting talked down by Applejack Joline Joliny Apple to excuse them losing his shit and she would compensate him for his lost aquatic rapid Crossbow. To Raritys and Rainbowdash snickering of delight since the usually stoic former Captain had fluffed up wit his feathers volorung red like freshly washed and dried chick.

Apperently did the rumors of Applejack and Sharpbeak wrestling wasn't all about keeping in shape was true.

When everyone was back at the reef did all Lifepod copys of Gale and the Alicorn go to work on modification to a Lifepod for making it ready for their Submarine project. Three weeks later would it result in a plan to disassemble two of the exploration Lifepods to build a submarine. Giving them in total two submarines.

Pinkie Pie claim the Lifepod 33 for herself after having installed a from scratch new build manufacturing module. Spike donated one of his Pods power cells to Pinkies Pods to power her new standard manufacturing modul. From that day forward did every dinner had a Muffin or cupcake with it for all Community members.

Spike bunked together with Twilight while Zephyr take Spike premium pod for himself. With Zephyr spending future time with hearing music in it rather than working the next month would there community bearly lost a workforce and overall everyone was more satisfied with Zephyr having stopped about complaining about overworking himself or a Pod not being good enough.

4 Months since the Survivers had landed on the planet and despite them accepting there fate on this world, did they all where rather well of physicaly and mentally.

Sharpbeak had come around thanks to Applejack Joline Joliny Apple bucking his lone Griffon act like Flash serious Sentry did with Zephyr when he ask if he could come around for a little roll in the hay.

Gale & Twilight had made a rough plan for a Submarine that give it basicly only what every surviver wetsuit had:
- Depth counter.
- Oxygen counter.
- Temperatur measure sensors.
- Power Cells from Zephyr Lifepod, since 2 out of 6 was enough for normal operations and he could use other Pods for food manufacturing.
- A camera set like the PDA Frames used them but bigger and sharper.

But unfortunately was that everything. Since it was basicly defenseless and had only limited visibility do to them all missing any kind of strong lamps for illumination. A very big weakness of the Submarine. As this blueprint was still highly flawed, was it only to be used by Twilight with her ability to use her magic to scan for lifeforms to be forwarned to raise a shield should anything coming for them. While one more passenger could fit in, even if it was a tight fit.

Once Twilight & Spike had made a test dive that went relatively smoothly despite a few minor chasing of various Predators like Sharks.

With that project completed and Rainbowdash with the others having successfully pulled 3 Electrical Ell huntings, was the Community in very high spirits.

With exception of Spike, he had been surprisingly insistent to strengthen his body and lung capacity. To Twilight surprise did Spike rather successfully managed to get some more muscles. While everycreature had mutch sturdier muscles do to swimming had Spike additional a somehow more determined aura to him.
The apperently successful fight of the red themed Predator had done Spike a lot if good.

Even Zephyr had muscled up. Twilight jaw almost dropped when the reclusive Stallion one day came out her Lifepod and showed a lot more than anyone had in months do to being basicly non stop in their wetsuits.

If she didn't know how mutch a whiny wimp he was, she might have drooled a little at his bare fur coat not hiding muscles or slightly visible scarring.

Meanwhile Flash Serious Sentry had also muscled up. He had she guessed twice as mutch studly presents than before the crash. She could indeed see him following the call for service. Not just for Guard duty and royal protection service...

All in all everyone seem more healthy and activ. The harsher lifestyle circumstances sure showed Twilight how easy they had it all life long. But they managed rather well despite all odds.

Today was a special day, for everyone would enter the alien construction today on the Islands edge. Rainbowdash and Gilda would take point, while Giraldi and Sharpbeak and Applejack Joline Joliny Apple would keep their back safe. Zephyr would be between the first two parts of team 1.
Once they give the all clear would the next group of Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Rarity and Fluttershy follow.

Pinkie Pie was holding down the fort near the reefs. Better safe than sorry in case,something hapoen to the Lifepod construct.

By now everyone know that Applejack Joline Joliny Apple & Sharpbeak where a couple and nocreature would mess with him or even go after him for past misdeeds. So he with some coaxing of his mate reluctantly give Twilight a copy of his Military grade blueprints and everyone had titan fiber laced fabric and aquatic repeater Crossbows to their personal use.

Everyone with exception to Pinkie Pie was ready in case something went wrong during the exploration.

To say it in Spikes words: "We are all brave, but to go in and return in glory one has to come out alive."
And so everyone had a loaded and drawn Crossbow at the ready, when they put the purple alien tablet into the console and hold their breath when the door's force field winked out of existence.

With a nod to one another did the next chapter of their adventure begin.
