BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTS ABOUT IT; LET IT BE KNOWN THAT DESPITE SPITFIRE NOT BEING KNOCKED DOWN ANY PEGS THIS CHAPTER, I STILL DON'T LIKE HER. I am not changing the original direction I wanted to go with this story simply due to a lot of recent negative PR going around Spitfire. I don't really feel like changing around my original plans for these episodes just because of some recent events. So despite the negative PR Spitfire has been under recently, I am choosing to have her take part in an episode. Thankfully, this is the only time I had planned for Spitfire to make an actual physical apperence in one of these episodes.

It was a seemingly normal day in Ponvyille with the Shadowbolts. Lately though, Rainbow Dash has been simply doing her leadership role and not a lot of flying and today was no different. This caught Spitfire's attention so the yellow pegasus mare decided to approuch Rainbow Dash after practice today.

"Hey Dash, are you feeling okay?" Spitfire asked Rainbow Dash.

"I'm doing fine Spitfire. Couldn't be better really." Rainbow Dash said before eating some Beef Jerky. That gave Spitfire pause. She thought Rainbow Dash hated Beef Jerky.

"...Are you really Rainbow Dash, or are you Pharynx playing some sort of prank on me?" Spitfire asked before Phyranx suddenly showed up.

"...Seriously, Beef Jerky again Rainbow?" Pharynx asked.

"Yep. I can't help it." Rainbow Dash said.

"...Am I being pranked right now?" Spitfire asked.

"No pranks Spitfire. Though I did want to ask if you were willing to be a lunar mother in a few more months from today." Rainbow Dash said.

"What does that go--" Spitfire began to say before her jaw totally dropped. "Wait...are..." Spitfire was saying.

"Scootaloo is already excited to be a big sister soon. She already knows too. And I'll be soon making an announcement about it to my friends." Rainbow Dash said.

"...That...explains...everything...wow..." Spitfire said. "What happened, did you not want Twilight to be the only one with a pony-changeling hybrid child running around?" she asked; partly as a joke.

"Oh ha ha ha. Very funny Spitfire. I actually don't mind that Twilight's foal is going to be born a few weeks before mine honestly." Rainbow Dash said. "Just means that mine's got to become more awesome, right?" She asked with a grin.

"...Okay now this sounds more like you. I don't think I'm being pranked anymore." Spitfire said.

"Changelings don't like pranking about stuff this serious. Trust me." Pharynx said.

"Besides, Thorax said he was done trying to imitate mares." Rainbow Dash said. "Guess he got really tramtized disguising as Twilight. I bet that was a pain." She added.

"I think it was the whole I had to be Amiticia thing that really made it akward." Pharynx said.

"I guess there was that too huh?" Rainbow Dash asked, cuddling up to her stallion.

"...Your still acting a little strange Rainbow..." Spitfire said.

"It's the mood swings Spits; Twilight's going through them too. The other day, she actually blew the top off her own castle." Rainbow Dash stated.

"Wait...but the castle looks totally fine. How did it..." Spitfire said.

"It's a giant regenerating crystal castle. Twilight started on some long-drawn-out nerd stuff that completely flew over my head. I don't need to know a lot to know that the short version is that it's a very complicated process. Trust me, don't even bother asking Twilight." Rainbow Dash said.

"Yeah this is still defiantly you Dash. Only you wouldn't care about the complications." Spitfire said.

"Only this was even worse. Even King Amiticia was growing dis-interested midway through." Pharynx said.

"Oh...I guess it really is that complicated." Spitfire said. It was no secret that Amiticia is like the only changeling whose smart enough to keep up with Twilgiht most of the time. While there's the occastional moment when Twilight does her "Twilight-ing" thing that even Amiticia can't follow along with, it's known that when that does happen, it means it really is that complicated.

"Yeah. Beats me how Amiticia keeps up with Twi so much but...that just proves he's perfect for her. I doubt that crystal guard stallion Flash Sentry could keep up with Twilight this much." Rainbow Dash said.

"At least he's trying to date Moondancer who seems a lot like Twilight at times." Pharynx said.

"But with the way things are going...I'm expecting them to not be compatible and for her to fall for another Changeling. Maybe Thorax." Rainbow Dash said. "Only one of us not even interested in a Changeling is Fluttershy really, but considering how much time she's spent with Discord lately...I think I know why." She said.

"Wait...what's that about the rest of you being with changelings?" Spitfire asked.

"Yeah Rarity's dating a changeling whose a complete fashion wizard and Applejack's really into this Changeling Stallion whose a super hard worker. Pinkie Pie so far is the only one not really looking but I think that's because she just saw Cheese Sandwich again and I have a feeling about those two. Means she might be the only one of us who gets together with an outright pony." Rainbow Dash said.

"...And you're okay with that?" Spitfire asked.

"Why wouldn't I be? Not a single changeling has shown to keep up with Pinkie Pie and well...you should know by now that Pinkie Pie is forever going to be Pinkie Pie." Rainbow Dash noted.

"Yeah...she always seems to come out of nowhere..." Spitfire admitted. "How does she even do most of that anyways?" She asked.

"It's Pinkie Pie, don't question it." Rainbow Dash and Pharynx said at the same time.

"...How'd I know you were going to say that?" Spitfire asked.

Sometime later, Rainbow announced her pregnancy to all her friends.

"That's interesting. Wonder how I'll be to the new foal." Rumble said.

"I think they'll see you as their brother-in-law. I'll make sure of it if things continue to get serious like they have been." Scootlaoo told her coltfriend.

"Wait, things are going that well? Well I'll be darn." Diamond Tiara said.

"Should've expected this really." Sweetie Belle said.

"Yeah Scootaloo and Rumble just feel like they work well." Smolder said.

"I agree one hundred percent." Spike said.

"Can we all focus please?" Apple Bloom asked.

"No wonder you haven't really been flying much Rainbow Dash. Ah thought something had to change for that." Applejack said.

"Trust me, I don't like being grounded. As soon as the baby is guaranteed fine and is situated, you know I'll be back in the air full time." Rainbow Dash said.

"Yeah that sounds like you." Applejack said.

"Already went through this with Spitfire AJ." Rainbow Dash said.

"Should've known..." Applejack said.

Surprisingly not much had been happening lately for the next few weeks. It was only a week before Twilgiht was expected to deliver when something finally happened. A future portal opened up and spit out a different version of Dusk Shine; this changeling was more along the lines of looking more like the more reformed look Amiticia and the other changelings had taken.

"...Raiden was right..." Twilight said.

"Then why is another portal opening up?" Amiticia said before what looked to be a much more warrior version of Cozy Glow came through.

"Gah...REALLY?! Fine...I guess if it's to make sure of a certain unexpected development guess I got to work with the other version of my brother." The Warrior Cozy Glow said.

"What...sort of unexpected development?" Twilight asked. Suddenly Tempest Shadow burst into the room.

"P-Princess Twilight...a bunch of Ponies were mysterious attacked in Manhatten by creatures that looked like changelings." Tempest Shadow said.

"But that can't be right. I know where all of the changelings are at all times. How long ago was this?" Amiticia asked.

"About two hours ago." Tempest Shadow said.

"Two hours ago...Let's see..." Amiticia then went through a long list of names and locations and before long... "...Pharynx was with Rainbow Dash in the later's cloudhouse, Thorax has been training with Gilda since this morning in fact, and well I've been by Twilight's side this whole time." He had concluded.

"That's...quite the extensive list of alibis...I'll pass it on to the other pony guards so we can all double check this. Of course, this means that if all this is true, then we have a problem on our hands: Someone is trying to frame the changeling race for attacking ponies." Tempest Shadow said.

"Yeah that's why mom sent me back in time: It's because this is serious." The good Dusk Shine said.

"Suppose we'll have to work together because in order for our two futures to still exist period, this unforseen threat NEEDS to be dealt with." The warrior Cozy Glow said.

"Considering we're both warriors...probably why we were sent." Dusk Shine said.

"How can this version of Cozy Glow still exist when the act was repelled is what I want to know." Twilight said.

"Because the events that cause the act to be repel or keep sticking around revolves around is a constant. The way my version of you explained it is that our future cannot exist if yours ceases to continue on the path it's going. Is it a path me and my version of my brother think is the weaker future? Yes. But right now, if things don't change, Ponies and Changelings will go to war with one another, and it'll kill all life on the planet as a result." Warrior Cozy Glow said. "Though this Dusk Shine is more of a Knight then a warrior." She added.

"Just because I'm a Knight doesn't mean I don't know combat." Knight Dusk Shine said.

"True I suppose. At least I can somewhat tolerate you, even if I prefer the brainiac version of you." Warrior Cozy Glow said.

"I feel the same way about prefering you being the prodigy of the two of us. But right now, we need to look past that if there's going to be a future period." Knight Dusk Shine said.

"Fair enough point." Warrior Cozy Glow said.

"So do either of you know what we're up against here?" Tempest Shadow asked.

"Sorry Tempest but no. If we knew, this wouldn't even be such an emergancy. We have to do something." Knight Dusk Shine said.

"Sadly he's not wrong. If I knew, you know I'd be making a plan right now but I got nothing because I know nothing." Warrior Cozy Glow said.

"This really is an anomaly then...which means that if we don't stop this threat soon...I...I can't bring myself to go to war against Amiticia...I just can't..." Twilgiht said. Her breathing became a bit labored.

"You...you can't do anything right now Twilight. I'll handle this personally." Amiticia said.

"D-dad?!" Both Knight Dusk Shine and Warrior Cozy Glow exclaimed.

"Whoever this is has made this personal against Changelings. I ain't about to let it go unchecked." Amiticia said. "Tempest Shadow...gether me a few of the changeling guards...I'm ending this here...." Amiticia said.

Dear Amiticia,

So, you really think you can foil what I've got brewing? I suppose our confrontation was inevitable. After all, your hive and me have history together. So, it's only natural that you would be against what I've been stirring.

That's right, it's me: Astrotle Mondoli. I have returned once more. But this time I thought I had created the most fool-proof plan possible. And yet, just like your father before you, you choose to stand against me and the message I wish to send to the actual gods of the multi-verse.

So be it.

If you wish to stand up for your pointless mortal values, I am willing to meet you in a one-on-one battle to determine once and for all whose philosophy is the correct one. One of us will live and prove our philosophy once and for all to be true; the loser will die and with them, their beliefs will die with them.

If you agree to these terms, sign the dotted line below. I'll be waiting for you in the Everfree Forest in the ruins of the Castle of the Two sisters. Our battle shall be held in the place where the two sisters battled over their own beliefs. It's only fitting that we use that as our battle ground. - Astrotle Mondoli

"...A contract with a demon..." Rainbow Dash observed.

"Your highness, I wouldn't suggest believing that Astrotle Mondoli can be trusted to fulfill his part of this contract." Pharynx said.

"Twilight said that all demons; regardless of their power; are bound to whatever contract they create." Amiticia said.

"Do you realize how risky this is? You could very well not come back at all." Tempest Shadow said.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take. After all, if I stand by and do nothing, then he will cause ponies and changelings to be at war with each other. That's something I cannot allow." Amiticia said and proceeded to sign the dotted line.

"...He's got a point. Then all the rest of us can do is wish you good luck." Spitfire said.

"Yeah. Now go kick that demon's ass once and for all!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Laungague Rainbow Dash!" Rarity said.

"I would've said flank, but I don't think demons have flanks to kick." Rainbow Dash said.

Applejack opened her mouth to counter but then stopped. "...Actually, ah can't say for sure if they do or not either myself..." The farm pony said.

"Well then, I would say give that demon hell, but then that demon has already been in hell so..." Pinkie Pie trailed off into talking about cakes and stuff that was totally unrelated to the topic at hand.

"Just make sure you mess him up something fierce." Spike said.

"Make sure you come back in one piece too." Twilight said.

"Oh, I plan on making sure that the only one who's going to end up in pieces is Astrotle Mondoli. It's time to bring this chapter of my hive's history to a close." Amiticia said.

Amiticia trotted into the castle of the two sisters, finding the old throne room rather quickly. There, standing in front of the destroyed thrones was Astrotle Mondoli himself; the one known as the Demon Devil.

"I believe this was sent by you." Amiticia said tossing the contract towards Astrotle Mondoli.

The Demon devil looked over the contract and then it burnt away. "Honestly, I was expecting you to come here with back-up, and not have signed my little contract. But seeing as you have decided to come alone and have signed the contract, you will henceforth die alone. But I'm sure you have several questions on your mind. So, before I proceed to show you the futility of your friendships and bounds, I'll do the honorable thing and answer any questions you might have." Astrotle Mondoli said.

"There's only one question I have on my mind: Exactly why did you use demons to impersonate changelings?" Amiticia asked.

"Whoever said that those were demons that attacked ponies?" Astrotle Mondoli countered.

"They weren't demons? I suppose it was foolish of me to think there weren't other changelings hives. But then that begs the question: Why turn Changelings on Ponies?" Amiticia asked.

"To prove once and for all that for all your talk of friendship, you mortals; changeling, pony, or otherwise it doesn't matter what species you are; when faced with the reality that friendship is nothing more than a band-aid to cover up the mistrust and hate you truly feel about each other deep inside, you will turn on each other. And when that happens, your so-called friendships won't survive a war." Astrotle Mondoli said.

"But that makes no sense at all; why do you want to start a massive world-ending war? What purpose does forcing mortals to fight one another serve?" Amiticia said.

"To prove to the gods that govern this multi-verse that mortals just cannot be trusted with free will. That they should rob mortal kind of their ability to decide things for themselves. And the only way to prove that, is to show them how violent mortal kind really is. I attempted to do something similar to what I'm doing here, but I eventually got found out that I had a direct hand in influencing a massive change on a version of Equestia. As such, that version of Equestria now enjoys a happy ending. All because I had made my hand in causing the controversy way too obvious. So, this time around, I took a more subtle approach to the situation. All I did to those changelings was mearly suggest that they attack ponies. I never told them outright to do it, I only offered up as a suggestion. As such, if they chose to attack ponies, it would be their necks on the line, not mine. As they had acted on my suggestion, yet I never forced them into it. So those pony attacks? That's on those changelings. Not me." Astrotle Mondoli said.

"Your insane if you think you can continue this trend." Amiticia said.

"Perhaps I am insane. But then again, your also insane if you think you can defeat the likes of me alone." Astrotle Mondoli said before suddenly summoning a pitchfork. "I'm going to beat you within an inch of your life. Then, and only then, will you realize the futility of your so-called friendships. Because in a one-on-one battle, your friends won't be there to help you." He added before suddenly charging forward.

Amiticia rushed forward as well. The pair clashed for quite some time, causing more damage to the already damaged castle. Blows were being traded back and forth, with no clear winner even after quite some time.

"So, it seems you have some bite to back up your bark after all. Good. I was hoping I would've gotten to use my full strength." Astrotle Mondoli said.

"You're holding back?" Amiticia asked.

"But of course. What better way to show you how futile your friendships really are then by giving you a false sense of security? I may have agreed to a one-on-one battle, but that doesn't mean I'm going to play fair." Astrotle Mondoli said. Suddenly he began glowing red and started to take bigger risks which were quickly paying off. Amiticia managed to bounce back from this, and was able to keep the Demon Devil at bay.

"I am getting sick of your games." Amiticia said.

"As am I. It seems you are far smarter than I initially realized. That must come from your father. After all, it was by my own hand that he died. But now it's time for you to face what he faced 75 years ago." Astrotle Mondoli said before suddenly he grew to giant size.

With his new giant size, Astrotle Mondoli was easily dominating over Amiticia, and it soon left the changeling barely clinging to life. "It looks like you've lost this battle. Now do the honorable thing...and commit suicide." The Demon devil suggested, before tossing Amitica the pitchfork.

"Wh-what?!" Amticia exclaimed.

"Previously on My Little Pony: The Changeling of Friendship..." Twilight Sparkle's voice said.

Astrotle Mondoli and Amitica began battling, but once powering up and then turning giant sized, Astrotle Mondoli soon beat Amiticia into an inch of the changeling's life.

"You have lost the battle Changeling. Now do the honorable thing and commit suicide." Astrotle Mondoli said, before tossing Amiticia the demon devil's pitchfork.

"Wh-what?!" Amiticia exclaimed.

"Excuse me? Suicide?" Amiticia asked.

"But of course. It's obvious you can't beat me. So why not put yourself out of your misery?" Astrotle Mondoli asked.

Amiticia was going to counter when he realized something. "You...you planned for this. Right down to the last detail..." The changeling said.

"I confess, it's true: What better way to show how futile friendship truly is in the grand scheme of things, then to have the very changeling who is said to embody it commit suicide?" Astrotle Mondoli asked. "Once word gets out that you committed suicide, knowing you couldn't win a single battle, friendship will become nothing more than an afterthought, and all freindships everywhere will crumble. And what's more, because I am simply suggesting that you commit suicide, no one will be able to say that I assisted your suicide what-so-ever. It's the perfect plan." Astrotle Mondoli said. Amiticia slowly got to his feet. "What do you think you're doing?" The Demon devil asked.

"Unlike those changelings you tempted, I am not one to give in like this. If I am to die, it's going to be by your hand; not my own." Amiticia said.

"Must I beat you up some more to show you how futile it is to fight me alone? Look around you: Your all alone. You came here alone, so you will die alone." Astrotle Mondoli said. Suddenly Amiticia's eyes go wide before they expand and a glint appeears in them as music plays.

"You know what Mondoli? I may have come alone, but I am far from being here alone." Amiticia said. Suddenly, his wounds began to heal themselves.

Noticing this, the demon devil began to grow confused and enter a panic state. Wh-what's going on? How is he healing himself? I'm not sensing him casting any spells what-so-ever! Astrotle Mondoli thought in his state of panic. Then in a literal blink-and-you-miss-it moment, the images of the mane 6 suddenly appeared with Amiticia. Wh-what was that just now? Are they...channeling their powers to him?! The Demon devil thought.

Amiticia suddenly shapeshifted into Fluttershy. "Despite Fluttershy's shy and timid nature, she taught me the value of kindness to all living creatures, not just ponies and my own kin." Amiticia said in Fluttershy's voice.

Amiticia then shapeshifted into Applejack. "Even if she's stubborn, Applejack showed me what happens when your honest about your work and about your own friends. So don't you dare think she's even close to a second rate mare!" Amiticia said in Applejack's voice.

Next was Amiticia shapeshifting into Rarity. "While Rarity may be quite dramatic from time to time, she taught me that generosity comes in all shapes and sizes."

After that Amiticia shape shifted into Pinkie Pie. "While no one will ever be able to comprehend her full nature, Pinkie Pie at least taught me that how to laugh and smile even when all things seem hopeless."

Amiticia then shape shifted to Rainbow Dash. "Underneath all of her ego and need to be the best flier ever, there is one thing that defines Rainbow Dash above all else, and that's that even if I'm all alone, my friends will continue to be continue to be loyal to me. She's the one that taught me that Loyalty isn't limited by distance."

"This...this can't be possible...friendship is nothing more than a giant band-aid!" Astrotle Mondoli said. He then saw Amticia shape shift into his own wife.

"My own wife, Twilight Sparkle would beg to disagree with you. She taught me that all creatures; ponies, changelings, and other species across the globe no matter how far, near, tall, or small they may be/are; can all be connected by magic. And it's all because of Friendship." Amiticia said in Twilight's voice before going back to his original form.

"So you see Astrotle Mondoli, I'm never truely alone. Not so long as I have friendship by my side. BECAUSE THAT'S THE KIND OF CHANGELING I AM! I AM AMITICIA, AND I AM THE CHANGELING OF FRIENDSHIP!" Amiticia shouted out. Suddenly a full on laser blast occured once the images of the mane 6 returned and it was blasted right at Astrotle Mondoli.

The demon devil was hit, and suddenly his body began to shatter. "WHAT'S GOING ON?! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" Astrotle Mondoli yelled. "HATE IS ALL THAT MORTALS SHOULD FEEL, HATE IS ALL THAT IS BURIED DEEP INSIDE, HATE IS ALL EXISTANT NO MATTER WHAT!" He continued to yell out.

"SORRY ASTROTLE MONDOLI; HATE ONLY AFFECTS US IF WE LET IT!" Amiticia yelled back before suddenly Astrotle's entire body shattered apart into various pieces. The head soon rolled it's way in front of Amiticia; one eye slowly opening.

"...I...lOsT...hOw IrOnIc..." Astrotle Mondoli said; his voice had suddenly changed to something more demonic in nature. "I wOuLd AlWaYs PrAtTlE oN aBoUt HoW pOiNtLeSs FrIeNdShIp Is...AnD yEt, HeRe I lAy...BrOkEn AnD dEfEaTeD bY tHe VeRy ThInG i WaS cAmPaIgNiNg AgAiNsT..." The demon Devil continued. "yOu Do ReAlIzE tHaT yOu MaY hAvE oNlY dElAyEd ThE iNeViTaBlE wAr, DoN't YoU?" He asked.

"Maybe I have, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Because no matter what, I believe friendship will find its way to come back to the world, even if something were to happen to cause pony tribes to split once more." Amiticia said.

"ThE fUnNy ThInG iS...i BeLiEvE yOu...It'S tOo BaD yOu WoN't LiVe To SeE tHaT dAy..." Astrotle Mondoli said. Suddenly, he began to shed tears. "...I'm CrYiNg...FoR sOmE rEaSoN i'M cRyInG iN kNoWiNg YoU wIlL nOt LiVe To SeE tHaT dAy..." The Demon Devil said through his tears. "WeLl DoNe AmItCiA...yOu HaVe PrOvEn BeYoNd A sHaDoW oF a DoUbT tHaT fRiEnDsHiP iS mAgIc...GoOdByE...aMiTiCiA" He added before his eyes closed for good.

"...That...was what he said..." Amiticia said.

"We kind of already knew friendship was magic already, but damn Amiticia; you REALLY tore into him." Rainbow Dash said.

"Ah can't believe ah'm saying this, but Rainbow Dash is correct: Ya really tore into him sugercube." Applejack said.

Amiticia noticed Fluttershy was silent. "...Something wrong, Fluttershy?" Amiticia asked.

"Oh, it's just...I can't help but focus on the part where Astrotle was crying. Perhaps in his last moments before true death, the Demon Devil was touched by how strong your friendship with all of us was and wished it could last forever." Fluttershy said.

"...That's...both a disturbing and kind thought..." Rarity said.

"Perhaps, but we will never truly know, will we? The remains of Astrotle Mondoli were turned to ash after his defeat." Lone Star said. "I checked." He added.

"Well...I guess I just wanted to think on the positive side...even if he was a notorious evil person who wanted us all to kill each other...I want to believe in his last moments, he saw the true reality." Fluttershy said.

"...Never change Fluttershy. I don't know if I could handle you ever changing." Rainbow Dash said.

"Excuse me everypony and everyling..." Nurse Redheart said. "The check-ups are done now, you may return to Twilgiht's room." She added.

"Well what are we watiing for? We got two new babies to see. Oh yeah, while you were gone, the bad Cozy Glow and good Dusk Shine left back to their futures." Pinkie Pie said.

"Figures, considering everything..." Amiticia said. The group entered Twilight's room where she was holding an alicorn filly and a changeling colt. "Yep...called it." The changeling king said.

"So, what are you going to call them? Wait...that's kind of obvious." Rainbow Dash said.

"Yeah pretty much. The changeling will be Dusk Shine while this alicorn filly...she will be known as Cozy Glow." Twilight said.

"Yeah. Welcome to the world, Cozy Glow and Dusk Shine." Amiticia said.

"Cozy Glow."

"..."

"Cozy Glow wake up."

"..."

"C'mon Cozy Glow, wake up please."

Seven years had passed since her birth, and three days have passed for her since she came back to the present, but now Cozy Glow is forced to wake up from her rest for the day due to Luster Dawn.

"Ugh..." Cozy Glow said as she woke up. "Didn't I tell you I wanted to rest for the day Luster?" She asked.

"As your BFF, I just wanted to come and check on you. Maybe even tell you congratulate on making it back." Luster said to the pink alicorn.

"Fair enough I suppose..." Cozy Glow said as she got up.

"The others are kind of busy doing their own things right now, so I figured I'd come and check on you." Luster Dawn said.

"That would explain why the others just aren't here to greet me. But I figure you want something more than just a chat if your coming in person. Remember, we have PHONES now." Cozy Glow said.

"Thanks to your mother and my mentor, Princess Twilight of course. Not sure where she got the idea of them though..." Luster Dawn said.

"Remind me to tell you about mother's various adventures that DIDN'T involve my dad sometime; I'm sure you'll be more then surprised at where Phones originated from." Cozy Glow said.

"That's beside the point though. I figured that even though your going to just chill for the entire day, that we could both go grab something from Sugarcube corner; maybe a snowcone or something. "More or less." Cozy Glow said before taking out a red Rook piece. "I suppose I could go for a snowcone inbetween meals; I'm sure mom and dad won't mind since I'm going with a friend." She said.

"I'm sure they'd rather you be spending time with your friends in general then just being in bed all day." Luster Dawn said.

"I'm sure they would as well, but I think I still need some time to recover being back home." Cozy Glow said.

"Well I think that's all the more reason you need a snowcone. It'll give you something you couldn't have gotten seven years ago." Luster Dawn said.

"Too true. Maybe a snowcone is exactly what I need." Cozy Glow said and got off the bed in full, taking to the air. She and Luster Dawn headed for Sugarcube Corner, and after opening the door, found the lights off. "Um...Luster...why are all the lights off?" Cozy Glow asked. Suddenly the lights came on and then...

"SURPRISE! WELCOME BACK COZY GLOW!"

A whole bunch of ponies, changelings, and other various creatures suddenly came out of hiding saying the exact same thing.

"You guys..." Cozy Glow said.

"Sorry for deiciving you Cozy, but Smolder, Kale, Lil'Cheese, Pinkie Pie, Cheese Sandwich, and even the Cake Twins all pitched in for this. My part was actually getting you here for the party." Luster Dawn said.

"And we've got all sorts of things here that you couldn't have gotten seven years ago too. On top of all of your friends being here." Lil'Cheese said.

"You are all just too much, you know that right?" Cozy Glow asked as she smiled and headed fully inside where she was greeted by her mother.

"Allow me to say something to you Cozy Glow that's seven years overdue..." Princess Twilight said. "...I am so very proud of you for everything you did seven years ago to help my past self, and for your assistance in saving everyone. As your mother, I couldn't be more proud of you." She added.

Cozy Glow's eyes watered as she hugged her mother. "...Thank you mom...I'm so proud to be your daughter..." She said, tears flowing down her face as mother and daughter embrace one another before being joined by King Amiticia and every one of her various friends too.

They say home is where the heart is, and for Cozy Glow, she will never forget the most important magic of all. "Mom...would you please sing me my favorite song...for the party please?" Cozy glow asked.

"Of course Cozy Glow. You've earned it." Princess Twilight said as music started up.

Cozy Glow and her friends were currently having a sleepover at Rarity's place, though that's because there was some heavy snow coming down. "Darn my half-changeling biology causing winter time to make me sleepy..." Cozy Glow said. Luster Dawn brought Cozy Glow some hot coco.

"At least your mom lets you out of the house. Your pony biology still allows you to stay awake and not go into deep hybernation like your dad and the other changelings have to when things become this cold out." Luster Dawn said.

"Luster's right Cozy." A male griffin said as he cuddled with Cozy Glow to warm her up. "Plus, we can still manage a sleepover." He added.

"Kale...your always so nice to me, you know?" Cozy Glow asked.

"That's Kale for you." A female Kirin said.

"Summer Breeze is correct." Luster Dawn noted.

"Sometimes I enjoy our chats, it's just I wish every one of our friends could've made it to hearth's warming." Kale said.

"Friend Kale is right; Molson miss friends." A yak said.

"I'm sure they wish they could be here too, but I know they'd want us to enjoy Hearth's Warming Eve despite this fact." Cozy Glow said.

"Heh...it's only a few weeks until Hearth's Warming's Eve. And this year, we should also celebrate the friends who sacrificed themselves for us. Chitin included amongst them." Luster Dawn said.

"Chitin was a good changeling; so sad Grogar managed to kill him." Molson said.

"We're lucky we managed to lay the smack down on that goat." Kale said.

"It's just sad some friends had to die because of it." A blue unicorn mare said.

"I still hear Chitin telling us to cheer up at times like this." Luster Dawn said. "I'm sure you feel the same way, Mistique." She added.

"You got me there..." Mistique said.

"Grogar...there's a villain I'm sure Equestria is glad to be rid of." Cozy Glow said. "We worked together as friends to defeat him, but the price was a heavy one to pay." She added.

"Yeah. What's worse for you is that you have that changeling blood in you, which made you and Chitin related. If only by blood." Kale said.

"It's like you lost a lot more than a friend: You lost a cousin." Summer Breeze said.

"I guess when you put it that way, that does make sense. But at the same time, I don't want to get too torn over Chitin. I know he's probably smiling down on us from wherever good creatures like him go when they die." Cozy Glow said.

"Your right. So, we need to smile back." Luster Dawn said.

Because Chitin the Changeling was owned by GoldenStarlow solely, that's why this universe's version of the character was killed off by Grogar. The character died with Star; it wouldn't have felt right to keep said changeling in the group because of Star's death. Also I know this one isn't really all that long, but the more I tried to keep this going, the more I felt like I was repeating things so...

"Never thought I'd be the older sister in a family dynamic you know." Scootaloo said as she, Cozy Glow, Luster Dawn, Kale, and Rumble were all in Rainbow Dash's house with Rainbow Dash doing some cooking with Pharynax sitting next to a young pegasus filly that had a few changeling attriubutes to them.

"I guess you expected to be the younger sister, but I suppose life can be crazy huh. I'm twinsies with Dusk so I can't really relate to the older younger dynamic." Cozy Glow said.

"Big sis is really cool. So is mom and dad. My entire family is cool." The pegasus filly said.

"Hey don't forget about me squirt." Rumble said.

"You ain't married to big sis yet though." The pegasus filly said.

Pharynx chuckled. "She's got you there you know." He said.

"Don't be so down about it. I'm sure Prism Dash's opinion will change in a couple of months." Scootaloo said.

"Wait...Prism dash? I know me and my friends were all busy dealing with a bunch of monsters from the Everfree forest when she was born but I assumed the filly's name was going to be one hundred percent Rainbow Dash." Kale said.

"Decided to go with something a little different, as I wanted her to know just how special she is." Rainbow Dash said. "Besides, I think calling her Prism Dash is at least twenty percent better than anything else." She added.

"I like my name." Prism Dash said.

"Seems she takes after her sister a little bit." Luster Dawn said.

"When I grow up, I'm going to be a Shadowbolt just like mom and big sis!" Prism Dash said.

"If you do attempt it, just no that even though your my kid, I ain't going easy on you." Rainbow Dash said.

"I wouldn't want you to. I want you to give me the same treatment as everyone else." Prism Dash said, her and her mom locking eyes, the flames of competitiveness burning bright in both of them.

"...I take that back, she is one hundred percent taking after her mom more...." Cozy Glow said.

"Oh this is Prism Dash on a good day. On a bad day, she can take after the entire family; Rumble included." Pharaynx said.

"For the third time dad, I was defending myself. That colt Lockstrap was making fun of Amelia. I didn't expect him to actually try to hit me." Prism Dash said.

"Heh...I remember defending Fluttershy back in the day. Looks like that runs in the family." Rainbow Dash said.

"Defaintly. There was one point recently where I defended Silver Spoon from a snake. I know it wasn't as special as my mom and my baby sister, but I still defended a friend." Scootaloo said.

"Just because it wasn't another pony, doesn't make what you did any less cooler big sis. If anything, the fact that it was an animal just makes it twenty percent better." Prism Dash said.

"...Yeah she's defiantly having a good day. Did something happen?" Pharaynx asked.

"Kind of...Lockstrap apologized to me an Amelia yesterday. Like genially so." Prism Dash said.

"Huh...didn't expect him to do so. So, how did you take it?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Told him that I'll forgive him, but unless he makes up for his bullying, I ain't going to trust him." Prism Dash said. "...Of course, right after that, he offers to buy me a milkshake at Sugarcube Corner, but I turned him down gently." She added.

"Well at least you did the right thing and let him off easy." Rainbow Dash said. Suddenly the doorbell rang. "I got it." The rainbow maned pegasus said. Upon answering it, she found Lightning Dust there. "Dust? What are you doing here?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Getting some information. My cousin tells me that your youngest refused a milkshake as an apology." Lightning Dust said.

"I told him that it was nice of him to offer, but I wasn't going to accept a bribe. I had a feeling I knew what it really was, which was a bribe." Prism Dust said.

"Oh boy...no wonder he's in a bit of funk..." Lightning Dust said. "Since you didn't know, I suppose I can overlook this, as I should've told you beforehand. My cousin was raised on the belief that if you upset a girl, you're supposed to both apologize to her, and then treat her to something you know she likes. And it's no secret that Prism Dash likes Chocolate Milkshakes." She added.

"Wait...Clear Skies raised Lockstrap like that? Didn't think it'd be possible for me to overlook his vain attempt at sabotaging me." Rainbow Dash said.

"I think that's where that came from actually." Lightning Dust said. "Look...Prism...I know you probably thing it's still some sort of bribe but...please...for my cousin's sake." She added.

"...Fine. But if he tries anything funny..." Prism Dash said.

"I don't think that'll be an issue. I'll let him know you've changed your mind. Tomorrow afternoon sound good?" Lightning Dust said.

"Sure." Prism Dash said.

Lightning Dust smiled and flew off. "Well, that was something I didn't think we'd come to today. Now I'm curious about tomorrow." Rainbow Dash said.

"I still think it's just a bribe, so I'm only doing this because otherwise, Lightning Dust is going to have to deal with him being in a funk all the time." Prism Dash said.

Funny thing was, was that tomorrow afternoon, it turned out to be not a bribe at all, and the two had even managed to become friends miraculously.

"What do you mean some ponies are beginning to fight once more over things?" Cozy Glow asked. She, Luster Dawn, and their friends were at Twilight's Throne Room.

"I know it sounds impossible for this to be happening once more, but it is. I really thought that the fighting would be over after the whole Astrotle Mondoli situation, but it seems that once more, history is repeating itself. And this time, it's in regards to magic itself." Twilight said. "If things esculate, then I will have no choice but to use my magic to encapsolate the magic until a point in time when ponies can be made to get along once more." She added.

"But what about the changelings? Or the other races?" Luster Dawn asked.

"The other races outside of changelings have already made their preparations in case the worst comes to worst. Some day, pony decedents will know friendship again like we do, and everything will go back to normal. However, I doubt that any of us will live to see that day." Twilight said.

"There is a solution for changelings, however. A select number of them have been handpicked to go into a deep hibernation in which they won't age and be encapsulated for the hope that one day, ponies will once more know true friendship." Amiticia said. "This is the only hope for survival." He added.

"What's going to happen to the rest of us?" Luster Dawn asked.

"We'll try to hold on, see if we can salvage this situation..." Twilight said. But then she brought forth three gems. "...But if the races can't get along because of their different magics, then I will have no choice but to seal the magic in these. Only if these three gems are brought together by a pony who believes in friendship between others regardless of race can the magic be restored to the three tribes." The purple alicorn explained. "And I will make sure the encapsulated changelings can only be awoken by the combined gem." She concluded.

"Then...I want to help. I have the perfect idea on what to put on the inscription." Cozy Glow said.

"Yeah! I want to help too!" Luster Dawn said.

"Both of you...thank you..." Twilight said. "We may not live to see friendship become the focus once more, but I garentee we will lay the ground work for it to come back. Even if it costs us everything." She added.

"I know you wouldn't do this unless you thought it couldn't be avoided mom." Cozy Glow said.

"Cozy Glow's right. You always make the right call." Luster Dawn stated.

"No matter what, I will stick by your side my love." Amiticia said.

"Thank you. Truely. Thank you." Twilight said.

Several weeks have passed...

And unfortunatly, the worst possible outcome came into being.

The three pony tribes once more began to fight and tussel with each other; this time because of their different magics.

As such, it would go on record, that despite her best efforts to defuse the situation, Princess Twilight Sparkle had no other option then to follow through on her back-up plan.

Using the might of the three gems, she sealed the magic of the three pony tribes away, and hid the gems away to be found by a future generation.

Without magic, the current generation of ponies one by one began to die off. But their offspring would all survive. This was all to make way for hope that a future generation would learn from the mistakes of the past and bring hope to the future.

...Several years have passed since the magic was seperated into the three gems. Three weeks ago, the ponies continued to resent the other races, but by a miracle, one pony was raised on the lessons of friendship Princess Twilight teached.

That pony was Sunny Starscout.

Against all odds, this earth pony began to want frienship to spread between the three pony tribes and beyond; hoping that one day the magic could return.

And three weeks ago, Sunny Starscout would go on a journy that brought back magic to the land of equestria.

Three weeks ago, the impossible became possible, and through the actions of Sunny and her new friends, frienship was restored between the three pony tribes.

Sunny Starscout would later find texts left by Cozy Glow that pointed the group to the location of Twilight's Changeling Research Book and the location of the encapsolated Changelings.

...The Legacy of Friendship is about to be unsealed...

To the one that finds this book, let me preface this whole thing by saying that this book has lost all context of being a research into changeling habits and behaviors. While the scientist part of my brain acknowledges the concept of failing to do proper research when you bound with your own subject of research, I will say that I would not change the outcome...

"We've got to be getting close." Sunny Starscout said. "I recognize that symbol of a rook; it's Princess Cozy Glow's cutie mark!" She added.

"Well what do you know, we're on some sort of track after all." Sprout said.

"Shut up Sprout. You nearly caused a war to happen. You're lucky I'm being so lenient on you for what you did." Hitch said.

"I can't wait to see what we find up ahead!" Izzy said.

"Same here! Literal changelings, alive after this long." Zipp said.

"One of them may even know about Rainbow Dash." Pipp said.

This entire thing started at the wedding between my brother Shining Armor and my now sister in law, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza also known as Princess Cadence. The changeling queen known as Chrysalis had tried but failed to take over Canterlot thanks to some effort on my part admittedly. At one point, Chrysalis and her entire swarm were sent flying thanks to a spell the locals have grown to call "The Love Bomb"...

"Hey what's this? Is that a statue of the late princess of frienship herself, Twilight Sparkle?" Zipp asked.

Sunny gasped. "Your right Zipp. It is." She said.

"Then whose this dude who looks funny?" Sprout asked, noting a statue of a very particular changeling.

Sunny gasped again. "That has to be him! Twilight's husband and the changeling of friendship himself, King Amiticia!" Sunny noted.

One of those changelings landed in my basement with no memory outside of his name. He stayed locked down there for quite some time in fact. It wasn't until I returned from the crystal empire and let him out that my life changed forever. Do I regret this decision? Looking back on it, no. No I do not. I wouldn't change what happened, even if it would stop the pony tribes from fighting once more. There would be nothing I wouldn't change about what had occurred for the world.

"And this has to be a statue of Twilight's entire family: Princess Twilight, King Amiticia, Princess Cozy Glow, and Prince Dusk Glow!" Izzy noted.

"Good eye Izzy. That's exactly right. I can't believe I'm seeing this." Sunny said.

"Hey, there's an inscription here." Pipp noted.

The changeling's name was Amitica, which is Latin for "Friendship", at the time I wouldn't know it, but I would grow to love this changeling. As that was the day our paths had crossed. That was the day our destinies were set in motion. I wouldn't change it. Not for magic, not for friendship, not even for the world...

"'Laying beneth this statue is the changeling's hopes and future. Only once friendship blooms amongst all pony races once more, can the seal be broken. If this event has come to pass, then by the royal decree of the late Princess Twilight and King Amiticia, plus their children Princess Cozy Glow and Prince Dusk Glow, place the proof in the indent you see in this statue.'" Zipp read out, translating it.

"Proof? What kind of proof is it talking about?" Sprout asked.

Sunny noticed what the indent looked like and took out the now combined three gems. "I think you already know, Sprout." Sunny stated and slowly inserted the gem. Suddenly, a light burst forth, blinding the six ponies.

That was the day I met my husband. That was the day everything changed. It was the day I met the one who I was destined to marry. The changeling who became king, who defied all sense of logic and became my loving mate and husband. The one and only one who could ever be with me.

Suddenly a number of changelings came out from the statue after it's front opened up. "We...we are free?" The one in the very front asked.

"You...you really do exist. Oh my gosh..." Sunny said, practically fangirling. "YOUR CHANGELINGS! YOU GUYS BECAME A SYMBOL OF FRIENDSHIP MODELED AFTER YOUR NEW KING!" Sunny shouted.

"...She's an excitable one, isn't she?" A female changeling asked Sprout.

"You...have no idea..." Sprout said, though he too was secretly fangirling. Or is that fanboying in his case?

"Do you have a name?" The leader changeling asked.

"My name's Sunny Starscout. What's yours?" Sunny asked, extending a hoof in friendship.

The leader changeling took it. "I was given the same name as my grandfather. My name is Amiticia; I am the successor to the Changeling of Friendship." He said.

"So, you're like the new Changeling of Friendship then?" Sunny Starscout asked.

"That would be correct.' Amiticia said.

That was the day I met my future husband, King Amiticia; known in our time as the Changeling of Friendship.

In case it wasn't obvious, the parts where the text turns purple are supposed to excerpts from the beginning of Twilight Sparkle's research book into changelings that she had mentioned she was going to make from the original portion of the story which I did have the link to as this submission's "prequel" as the original portion of the story wasn't purged from my original account.

A strange Yellow Earth Pony stallion was seen reading a book before he put it back on its shelf. "So, that was the history of this world..." The earth pony said before he began to walk out of the library.

"Sir, that's the fifth time you've come to this library just to read the same book. If you'd like, I can get you a library card." A unicorn mare said.

"No need. I won't be coming back here." The earth pony stallion said.

"What?! You just show up, read one book five times over the course of a single week, and then just leave out of the blue?" The Unicorn asked. "Who exactly are you?" She added.

"Well what did you expect..." The earth pony turned to face her, before he suddenly gave her a complete shock when his left eye changed completely and his voice turned demonic. "I'm the Devil."
