Chapters

We meet again under the most unusual of circumstances

This story takes place after the events of The Meeting (Part 3) in OBJECTION!!!!! I haven't finished writing that chapter yet, let alone post it.

As mentioned in the description. People really want to see Spike and Chrysalis meet again. That moment in the main story is still far off from happening. So, I’m writing this side plot to give those who are dying to see it, an early taste of it.

This story will contain no spoilers from the yet to be seen The Meeting (Part 3) So don't worry about that. This story main focus is between Chrysalis and Spike. Also, in the future, this story will be added to the main story but with either slight or major changes. Just so you know.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story:twilightsmile:

We meet again under the most unusual of circumstances

Inside the dungeons of Canterlot castle, lock inside their shared cell. Chrysalis and Tirek waited patiently for their lawyer to return from her meeting with the princesses and Co. It has been two hours since they hired Raven as their defense attorney, two hours since the glasses wearing mare visited them last, and all they can do is sit or lay on their beds waiting.

The two would mostly sit in silence, not saying a word to each other. They both just laid on their beds, which sat on opposite ends of their cell. They weren't sleeping, just minding their own business. They been like this ever since they finish their conversation about what it was Raven told Chrysalis earlier. Chrysalis was laughing a lot during that little talk, and Tirek can see why the ex-queen change her attitude towards the glasses wearing unicorn so quickly and happily accepted her help. If everything goes well, then after the trial, Chrysalis will have the last laugh at the end and vengeance will be hers.

“Arrrgh! What the hell is taking, Raven so long?” Which is why Chrysalis is so impatient right now.

“Calling her by her real name, now!” Said Tirek. “I thought you didn't give a buck what her name is.”

Chrysalis scoff as she sat up on her bed to sit on her haunches. “Yeah, yeah, so I like the mare, so what! She definitely earned my respect by going out of her way to help us and bring that draconequss down.” she chuckles. “Especially after what she told me.” Chrysalis smiled wickedly. “Which is why I can't wait for this trial already.”

“Which we have to win first.” Tirek said nonchalantly. “If we lose, you can't get your precious revenge, or at least it won't be as satisfying.”

“Please, I may not know anything about Raven, but I can assure you that her confidence in winning the case is pure genuine. My magic may be cut off from me but a changeling's natural ability to sense emotions can't be contained and I felt no emotional sense of doubt, coming from her when she declared, she will win.”

Tirek took a moment to think about that, remembering the exact moment when Raven said she will win.

"It sounds like you worked really hard putting your case together!" Said Tirek. "I could only wonder why you would go so far for us and what do you get out of it? It's not like we have any money to pay you."

"I'm not doing this for payment, I'm doing this for justice. I don't care that two are villains that tried to take over our world, that's no excuse for the injustice being committed. I hate injustice with a passion and Discord thinks he can get away with all that he'd done and not face any consequences. (Raven *SLAMS* her hooves on the table) "WELL HE'S NOT! NOT THIS TIME! That asshole gotten away with too many crimes already since his reformation and I won't stand by and allow him to get away with this one and another thing don't think that I can get you two pardons for your crimes, when I win this case.

"Don't you mean "If" you win?" Asked Tirek.

Raven adjusted her glasses. "No! I don't!" She said confidently.

Tirek may not be able to sense emotions like Chrysalis, but even he could feel the strong sense of confidence radiating off the mare in that moment, but having confidence is only half the battle.

Tirek sighed as he continues to lay on his bed. “It's great that she haves' confidence, but what about proof!? If she can't prove Discord is the real bad guy, then what's the point.”

Chrysalis took a moment to think. “I doubt she would go through with all this without some sort of plan. Remember all the things she said about building her case.”

”I've been studying your case for the past three weeks now and I come to learned that a great injustice is being committed upon you two and I'm here by own free will to help you two."

"And how do you plan to save us since we murdered that dragon?" Asked Chrysalis.

"Simple, by proving that you two aren't the only ones responsible for Spike's death and exposing Discord for the monster that he really is, I don't have time to go into details right now but trust me when I say that when I bring Discord's crimes to light it would make all of yours look like a joke in comparison. I've been working my butt off gathering intel and piecing together what Discord's real plan is, I still need to find evidence to help support my claims but that will come in due time."

“She already admitted that she doesn't have evidence, but she will in due time.”

“Now the only question is where and how does she plan to get this evidence?” Asked Tirek.

“We'll just have to asked her when she gets here.... Whenever the hell that will be.”

Tirek was about to say something, but the sounds of a metal door opening and the clopping sounds of metal hooves coming their way, caught both his and Chrysalis attention.

“Ugh, finally! There's only one reason the guard would show up, now.” Chrysalis said with a hint of excitement.

Tirek may not show it, but he too is excited to speak to Raven again. So, he gets up out of bed to stand, Chrysalis did the same. They both just stood there, waiting for the guards to arrive and escort them to the interrogation room. It didn't take long for the two guards to arrive in front of the cell doors that contained the evil duo inside. One of the unicorn guards, use his magic to unlock the cell door with his keys.

“Chrysalis!” The fist guard said as he opened the door. “You have a visitor.”

“About bucking time.” Chrysalis said as she steps out of the cell. As soon as she was out the second guard began putting shackles on her forelegs. Tirek was about to follow but the first guard held up a hoof to stop him.

“I said Chrysalis haves a visitor, not you Tirek.”

This confused the evil duo.

“What do you mean?” Tirek asked. “Raven is both our defense attorney.”

“I didn't say it was Raven. From what I was told, after the meeting, she needed to talk to the princesses about something in private. So far as I know she's still talking with them and someone else shows up wanting to speak with Chrysalis and Chrysalis only.”

“And who is it that wants to talk to me?” Chrysalis said. Just as the second guard finish putting on the shackles. “Is it Starlight Glimmer?” Chrysalis asked angrily. “Or any of those fuckers that did this to me?!” She said as gestures to her bandage wrap body, still healing from the beating she suffered through. “Because if it is, you can just put me back in my cell right now and tell Glimmer or whoever it is to take whatever it is they want to say and SHOVE IT UP THERE ASSSS!!!!!”

“I can assure you that whoever this is, is not who you think it is!”

That calm Chrysalis down. “Then who the hell is it?”

First guard shrugs as he closed the cell door and lock it. “Hell, if I know, I never seen him before and I’m not sure what kind of creature he is. He’s some really short dude wearing a tan trench coat, a grey top hat, red-rimmed sunglasses, haves a large puffy orange hair, and haves white feathered wings.”

Chrysalis tried to figure out who this creature is, but she doesn't know anyone of that description. But it did sound like whoever this creature is, they're wearing a disguise to hide themselves, and being a master of disguise herself, Chrysalis could tell as much. Sure, she could ask the guards if they have seen anything else they may have noticed, but what was the point when she's just going to meet this guy anyway.

“(sigh) fine, I’ll go speak with my visitor.” Said Chrysalis.

The guards began escorting her away as Tirek just went back to lay on his bed.

Like before, Chrysalis was escorted by guards to one of the interrogation rooms only this time, Tirek wasn't with her. During her walk Chrysalis kept wondering who her mysterious visitor could be and why do they want to meet her. She shook the thoughts from her head as she and the guards reached their destination.

[Canterlot Castle Dungeons, Interrogation room #2]

A lone figure wearing a tan trench coat, a grey top hat, red-rimmed sunglasses, with large puffy orange hair, and haves white feathered wings, sat alone in a chair at the table set in the center of the room, silently as he waited for the guards to bring her here. Soon enough, the door to the room opened catching the mysterious visitor attention. He watches as a royal guard step in first, behind him was none other than the Ex-changeling queen herself, Chrysalis.

Chrysalis was wearing shackles on her forelegs and had a large magic inhibitor ring secured around the base of her horn. A second guard soon entered the room after her.

The second the visitor saw Chrysalis, he noticed how that majority of the former queen body was covered in bandages, anymore and she would look like a fully wrap mummy. It was indeed surprising that she could still walk properly after the severe burn damage she received from Smolder.

Of course, visitor knows all about the fight between Chrysalis against Smolder, Rainbow Dash, Starlight Glimmer, Thorax and Ember. He did see the whole thing, after all.

Chrysalis sat in the chair opposite of her visitor. Getting comfortable.

Once she was seated the guards left the room closing the door behind them. Leaving the two of them alone.

Neither Chrysalis nor the visitor said a word, as they both stared each other down. At least Chrysalis thinks he's staring at her, it's hard to tell with the shadow of his hat covering his eye.

After a long moment of silence. Chrysalis decided to speak first. “So, who are you and why did you call for me?”

Silence.

“Did somebody send you and if so, who?

Silence.

“Aren't you going say something, you called for me. So out with it why are you here?”

Silence.

Chrysalis was getting frustrated with this guy giving her the silent treatment. She doesn't know what game this guy is playing but she doesn't want any part of it.

“Fuck this!” Chrysalis gets up from her chair and walks towards the door. “There's someone far more important that I’m waiting for and I'm not going waste my time dealing with some mute midget.” Just when Chrysalis was about to knock on the door to call on the guards, she instantly froze in complete shock when she heard the visitor voice.

“It amazes me, that after everything you been through up to now, you're still as stubborn as ever.”

”That voice!” Chrysalis thought. ”No, no, it can't be!”

“And just as foul mouth too, but enough about that,” The visitor took off his hat and his wig. Chrysalis could hear the garments being removed, as they were toss aside to the floor. As the visitor continued to speak while taking off his disguise, his voice alone shook Chrysalis to her core. She hasn't even turned around to look at the visitor yet, but his voice was something she thought she would never hear again, one that was silence supposed to be silent forever. Chrysalis dared to slowly look behind her to confirm her suspicions.

“I never thought that I would ever get this chance to speak with you.” Chrysalis heart race as fear began to take hold. “I had so much I want to say to you back when my friends last visited you.” Chrysalis kept slowly turning her head around. “The horrible things you said about me was one thing,”

Chrysalis finally turned around to look at her visitor straight in the eye.

“But I will never forgive you for the things you said about my herd, especially Fluttershy!”

Chrysalis eyes widen in horror at who it is sitting there at the table. With his disguise fully removed, the former changeling queen could finally see that her suspicions were correct. Sitting there was none other than Spike the dragon.

“No!” Chrysalis back away from Spike until her back hit the door. “Impossible, this is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!” she shouted while pointing a hoof at the drake. “You're dead, they told me you were DEAD!!!!” It's true, Chrysalis didn't see Spike die for she, Tirek, and Cozy Glow were KO’D by the explosion. The trio only learned of Spike’s death from his lovers and friends a few weeks ago. Yet here he is, alive and kicking. Only one question was on Chrysalis mind right now. ”HOW THE HELL ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?”

Spike just sat there with a calm expression on his face. He gestures to Chrysalis seat and says. “Don't worry I'll explain everything, so please have a seat, you and I have much to talk about.”

To be continued.

Two Weeks Ago

The spirits of Spike and his parents flew over the city of Canterlot. They had little time to admire the city's beauty because today was the day when Twilight would visit the vile monsters who ended the life of Spike to lie down the case against them. They soon arrived at the entrance of the Canterlot dungeons just as his harem, the Young six, the other three Princesses, Shining Armor, Garble, Ember, Thorax, and Discord also arrived. Even though Twilight was technically in the lead, the angel spirits of Spike and his parents were actually leading the way to Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis' cell. Spike and his parents soon made it there and Spike glared down the three fiends.

His glare softened, however, when he came upon Cozy Glow. He looked her right in the eye and noticed something wasn't right with her. Tirek, although slightly remorseful, still seemed to have no soul. Cozy, on the other hand, seemed like she had a soul, but it seemed like it was screaming out for some kind of help, that it said it didn't have any control over what the body it inhabited did. Chrysalis, however, seemed excited. One look into her eyes told Spike that she was irredeemable without a second thought. Her eyes were empty and soulless, void of any life. Like a desert that was frozen over. He felt every inch his spiritual body run cold. Even though she didn't know Spike was there, Chrysalis' icy, heartless look was enough to make both Spike and his parents feel uncomfortable at best. Her facial expression, however, was what put Spike the most at unease. She seemed excited about this. Like she wanted this to happen. The three angels gazed at her as if she was a lone figure on a deserted island. Was this creature even real? Was she really this heartless and demonic? Spike also couldn't help but have a bad feeling that something really bad was going to happen today. That thought was interrupted when he heard the sound of Twilight's voice cut through the tension that had been brought by the silence like a knife.

"Hello, Chrysalis, Tirek, Cozy Glow," Twilight said bitterly.

"Hello, Twilight," Chrysalis said, her voice oozing with venom. "Say, where's that little pet dragon of yours? Or was he your boyfriend? I honestly can't remember. Either way, I would've assumed he'd want to come along too."

She took a look around at the group of creatures.

“How lovely,” she laughed. “Everyone’s present. Here to throw us a parade?”

Everyone except Cozy Glow and Tirek winced slightly at Chrysalis' words, feeling disgusted with her unremorseful attitude. Spike and his parents just felt another wave of shock rush over them. They'd never really known Chrysalis, but, already, she was proving her worth as one of Equestria's worst enemies and nightmares.

"I think you know what happened to him," Celestia said simply. “No, we’re not here to throw you a parage either.”

Chrysalis snickered before Twilight spoke up.

"Listen up, you've all been charged with 1st degree murder. Cozy, since you're a child we cannot charge you with treason. How do you plead?" Twilight said curtly.

"Guilty. No contest," Cozy and Tirek said in unison. The Centaur and filly Pegasus knew it was no point in saying innocent. The chips were stacked too tall against them, and a trial would only prolong the ordeal for them.

"Chrysalis, we didn't hear your plea," Luna said.

Everyone turned to face her.

"Guilty. No contest," she answered, a smile etched at the corners of her mouth.

Everyone felt even more disgusted with Chrysalis' attitude. Even though Tirek and Cozy were just as guilty as her, they, at least, looked a tiny bit remorseful at first glance, although they didn't want them to see it. Chrysalis didn't even look like Spike's death affected her in any way. In fact, she seemed happy about it. It was as if she had wanted this to happen all along. Chrysalis looked the perturbed ponies, dragons, griffons, changeling, yak, hippogriff, and Draconequus standing before her. She decided to play dumb.

Spike's parents were starting to go from shocked to angry. The reality of what was going on almost fully sunk in by now and the fact that she was blatantly trying to start something to try and derail this event rather than keeping her mouth shut and getting her punishment over with made them even more angry. Spike just felt sad. He had held out some kind of little hope that Chrysalis and Tirek had some kind of good inside them, but Tirek had silently proved that he didn't, and Chrysalis was proving it right now,

"What?" she asked, pretending as if she didn't know why they were all mad at her to begin with. "Why are you all angry?"

"Oh, I don't know," came a voice. "Maybe it's because you're still showing no remorse after killing someone, a kid for that matter."

"Who said that?" Chrysalis growled. "Show yourself, now!"

Chrysalis looked around to see where that voice came from. She already knew it was Starlight but wanted to play dumb more to really let everyone know just what she thought about them. Eventually, Starlight came up to her.

"That was me," Starlight said through clenched teeth.

Spike felt his gut drop when Starlight revealed herself. The feeling that something really bad was going to happen increased ten-fold. He knew the rivalry between these two was about to boil over now and there was nothing he could do prevent Starlight from being pushed over the edge.

Chrysalis' demeanor changed from angry to excited looking at the angry visage of her archenemy. Although she hated Starlight most of all, she now knew exactly what to say to taunt the already angry Pink Unicorn. An evil grin spread across her face.

"Oh my," Chrysalis mused. "Whatever happened to the Starlight I knew who wanted to reform me? Certainly, out of everyone here, I would've expected you to be the one who extended me a hoof of friendship hoping to lead me down a better path."

"That was before you became a deranged psychopath hellbent on trying to kill us all," Starlight snapped back. "Had I known that you were going to go and pull a stunt like this, I would've just put you out of your misery right then and there."

"But you didn't," Chrysalis said in a sing-song voice before laughing again. "And, boy, did you pay a price for it. Such a shame too. Although he was a complete nuisance, I must admit that stupid boyfriend of yours, was such a promising soul, so full of life, so ready to take on all the challenges the world had to offer to him. He won't be missed. Ever."

Spike wanted to feel angry, but he was too busy silently praying that Starlight didn't do something she'd regret. One look at Starlight as she glared hatefully at her arch-rival only signaled to Spike that Chrysalis' taunts were really starting to make her angry. She wasn't the only one either. Spike also noticed that Thorax, Ember, and Smolder were also looking like they wanted to punch Chrysalis in the face right now. He noticed Smolder was probably the angriest and was already marching up to confront Chrysalis. Starlight saw Smolder coming up and backed up so the orange dragon could say her piece.

"He was just a kid, you fiend!" she shouted.

Chrysalis just shrugged.

"Ehh, kids grow up to be problems in this world. You, my friend, are no exception. The way I see it, I've made not just this hellhole you call your home, but the entire world, a better place by ridding it of one more flaw."

Spike felt anger starting to boil inside him. Even if he felt bad that Chrysalis couldn't be reformed, she had no right to talk to his lovers, friends, and home like that. He barely had time to grasp those new feelings before Smolder spoke up again.

"He was worth an infinite number of you!" Smolder countered. "He was more sweet, more pure, more loving, and, best of all, he was loved by many. Unlike you."

"Please do us both a favor, you insignificant, little insect, and shut the hell up," Chrysalis said, growing annoyed. "Your insults don't hurt me in any way, and they won't bring your boyfriend back."

Spike went from angry to furious.

"How dare you talk to my Smolder like that?" he growled.

He wanted to just go into that cell and grab Chrysalis by the neck and demand she apologize to his girlfriend, as well as his other lovers for the pain and suffering she put them through in the span of 11 days. Unfortunately, the fact that he was a spirit and couldn't cause anyone pain reared its ugly head again. He could only watch as Smolder's face changed from angry to shocked. No one had ever talked to her like that. Before she could think of a comeback, Starlight spoke up again.

"Well, just remember that we're not the ones in the cell," Starlight snarled. "Before I leave here though, however, I just want ask one thing. Was it worth it? Was not being my friend just to try to take Equestria but failing miserably worth all this?"

This was the shot Chrysalis was waiting for. It was time for her to show her foes just what she really thought about not just the battle, but all of them entirely.

"On the contrary, it is actually us who have defeated you," Chrysalis smirked. "See, you may have stopped us, but at what cost? We may be defeated, but the fact that we got one of you is more than reward enough for me alone, but now it's even better because 12 of you misguided fools actually thought of him as more than a friend. I was already pleased thinking about how much torture you twits were going through, but hearing that fact made that feeling of happiness indescribable. The icing on the cake of this whole ordeal is, if I remember correctly, he was an orphan. I'm willing to bet money that he's probably already reunited with his parents in the bowels of Tartarus. Now, they can all enjoy rotting down there together. So, in a way, I did him a favor. Now, rather than having no other choice but to consider any of you idiots his family, he gets to be with his true family. It's honestly funny how things work out sometimes. Wouldn't you agree? Oh, and here’s the cherry on top of it all. While I was biding my time in here, I began to think the magic of Friendship solved everything and kept everyone okay."

She paused impressively.

”Guess. Not.”

That did it, Spike watched as Starlight became probably the angriest he'd ever seen her. The same could be said for Thorax and Ember. Smolder, on the other hand, looked irate and Spike couldn't blame her. He could only watch as her fists clenched tighter than ever before. Her cheeks turned a darker shade of orange, she bared and gnashed her teeth, letting a somewhat loud growl escape from her throat, and a thin trail of black smoke slowly seeped out of her nostrils. The feeling of something bad happening finally revealed itself to Spike. Even if he hated Chrysalis, the angel Dragon nor his parents wanted to see Spike's lovers and friends hurt or possibly kill her in a fit of blind rage.

"You really think this is FUNNY?!!" Ember shouted.

"Funny, no. Hilarious, yes," Chrysalis corrected.

Chrysalis gave herself a mental pat on the back looking at the seething faces of Starlight Glimmer and Smolder, as well as many other creatures in the hallway. A handful of them just stared at her with pure shock. They had, like Starlight, never come across someone as shameless as her and didn't know what to think or say. It had worked, she had said what she wanted to say just to be a brazen, unapologetic jackass. She turned back to face Starlight, who only looked even angrier.

"Something the matter, Starlight?" Chrysalis said, not bothering to hold back another snicker. "You look a little red. Do you have a fever?"

Spike watched as Chrysalis paused for a brief second and he heard another irate growl from Starlight break through the silence.

"Or was it something I did?"

Starlight turned to the Royal Sisters.

"Celestia, Luna," Starlight said through clenched teeth. "Could you kindly hand me the keys to this demon's cell and grant me five minutes alone with her?"

"Is this a private event, Starlight?" Smolder said with a louder growl and the smoke from her nostrils was getting thicker. "Or can anyone join?"

"You're more than welcome to join in if you want," Starlight growled.

"Thank you, Starlight," Smolder said in a low, scary tone.

Garble stepped up to hopefully try and calm his boiling sister down. He put a hand on her shoulder before speaking.

"Smolder, come on," he said. "She's not worth-"

Smolder abruptly swatted his hand away, never taking her eyes of Chrysalis, the object of her fury.

"No," she snarled. "This sick, twisted psycho tried to destroy the whole world and our Spike had to pay with his life to save us. Now, she not only has no remorse for what she did, but she has the audacity to make fun of him while he's dead IN FRONT OF US!!!"

Smolder almost screamed out the last four words of her sentence. A few creatures were scared seeing not just Smolder, but Thorax and Ember as well, pushed to the point where they all wanted to fight Chrysalis. Spike felt tears welling up in his eyes looking at the four incensed creatures. Tyson and Kimba also felt scared looking at them. They had never come across anyone as angry as they were. They watched in fear as Smolder continued on.

"Well, I'm sick of it. This satanic beast has made it clear as day that any time in jail isn't going to do her or us any good. It's high time Starlight and I gave this lunatic the punishment she's had coming for a long time," Smolder finished. Her tone had turned from shouting to low and scary. "You want something to laugh and smile about, Chrysalis? I'll give you something to laugh and smile about."

"I want in on this too," growled Ember as she cracked her knuckles.

"Same here," snarled Thorax.

By now, everyone, except the four seething creatures and Fluttershy, were frozen in fear. Smolder's close friends all stared at her in shock. They had never seen Smolder, or anyone on that matter, this angry before. Neither had Garble. Gallus' knees quivered. He did enjoy pulling a prank or two on Smolder from time to time, as well as Smolder chasing him down and warning him of dire consequences if he ever tried it again, but now, it seemed Smolder was at least twenty times angrier than all the times she was with him from all the pranks he pulled on her combined.

Pharynx looked at his brother with the same shock. He had never seen his brother even slightly angry in his whole life. Ocellus wanted to say something, anything, to calm down the king of her species, but she couldn't think of anything and seeing Thorax so livid scared her half to death. Tears of fear brimmed in her eyes as she looked back and forth between Thorax's furious expression and Chrysalis' smug one. She didn't want to see someone who she basically considered her father to hurt someone else out of pure rage, even if they deserved it.

Spike and his parents were also shocked into silence. Spike was hovering, but his parents were standing. Spike looked back at his parents and noticed both of their knees were quivering in fear. They didn't know what to do or say here because they had never been in a situation like this before in their lives.

Chrysalis, on the other hand, wasn't fazed at all. All three angels felt themselves becoming more fearful as they watched as the bitter and shameless creature took one look at each of her four would-be attackers before breaking down in a fit of hysterical laughter. This lasted about 30 seconds before she got back up and looked at them again. Spike also stepped in front of them to look at what Chrysalis' laughing had done to them and noticed that all four were now trembling with pure rage. The little angel could've sworn the insides of Ember and Smolder's nostrils were now glowing orange. He looked at Thorax and noticed his horn and antlers were now glowing a slight shade of Turquoise. No Doubt in his mind the Changeling King's rage had likely manifested itself into magic. Starlight's horn was also the same way except it was glowing much, much brighter. One look at Chrysalis also told Spike that she felt very pleased with herself.

"Oh, what? What are you going to do?" she asked trying not to break down in another fit of laughter. "Friendship me to death? Kill me with kindness? Now, that's something I'd like to see you try."

It was at this moment that Spike and his parents knew that Chrysalis couldn't be saved from her own big mouth. Even so, Spike's fear didn't go away. His parents, however, seemed to have lost all fear knowing there was nothing to stop Chrysalis from getting a possibly fatal beating. One look at Smolder, Starlight, Thorax, and Ember signaled to Spike and his parents that maybe they did need this. Maybe they just needed to take out all that pent up rage inside them with a good fight and then, they'd be back to normal. One look at everyone else in the dungeon hallway told Spike and his parents that they were thinking the exact same thing. That was until Fluttershy stepped in-between them. She whispered something in Starlight's ear for a few seconds, which seemed to calm the Pink Unicorn down, before doing the same with Smolder, Ember, and Thorax. Spike felt a huge rush of relief wash over him seeing Fluttershy once again being the unofficial peacekeeper and uniter of the harem.

"Good work, Fluttershy," Spike whispered, his tears of fear turning into those of pride. "I'm very proud of you."

Spike watched as the four, formerly irate, creatures stepped away from Chrysalis' cell. Smolder, however, wasn't finished with her boyfriend's killer just quite yet.

"I want to make something very, very clear right now," Smolder said with another loud growl. "You're bucking lucky that Fluttershy was here to calm us down or Starlight, Thorax, Ember, and I would've personally made sure that you would not live to see your sentencing. Part of me still does want nothing more than to tear you limb from limb to show you personally what kind of pain we go through every day, as well as the kind of pain you put our Spike through in his last moments of life. Just remember that."

Once Smolder was finished, the cream-colored Pegasus turned to face the arrogant, barefaced, disgraced Changeling Queen. Her turquoise eyes vibrating with determination for the third time in less than two weeks. Chrysalis just looked right back at her with the same smirk, but she wasn't aware of what this usually shy pony had to say to her. Spike and his parents also watched with interest.

"What's she going to say?" Tyson asked.

"Just sit back, watch, and prepare to be amazed," Spike smirked.

"You may have taken Spike's body from us, but there are two things you will never, ever take away from us. The first is his spirit. We all hold a little bit of him inside us. His kindness, generosity, laughter, loyalty, and honesty all live on inside our hearts. The other thing is all the happy memories that we have made with him. We will always have things that will remind us of all the fun things we all did together with him. His love for us, as well as the love we felt for him, is something you would never be able to suck out of us because even one percent of it would overload the system that resides inside your soulless body. My pride as being one of his twelve marefriends increases ten-fold with each passing day. We've seen thousands of creatures of all kinds support us and praise Spike. Those who barely even knew him were writing poems and sending letters praising him on a daily basis. I've never seen a single person in the time I've known you ever come out in support of you. I think I'll leave you to think about that as you sit here until your sentencing," Fluttershy said, her tone had shifted to Bold Fluttershy.

"Wow," Tyson said, stammering for a second. "I did not expect her to do that."

"Same," Kimba added. "When you said Fluttershy was truly an inspiration for all of Equestria, you weren't kidding."

"That's just Fluttershy for you," Spike smiled. "Sweeter than sugar to the core and always willing to put someone who's acting out of line in their place. I was really, really lucky to have her as one of my girlfriends."

Chrysalis' smirk slowly faded. By the time Fluttershy finished her speech, Chrysalis looked at her in shock. At the back of the room, Cozy and Tirek's shock changed to dumbfounded amazement, both their mouths hung slightly open. They had never expected such strong words to come from such a meek, quiet Pegasus. Spike's parents were also amazed. Spike, on the other hand, just grinned. The second he saw Fluttershy walk up to confront Chrysalis, the angel Dragon knew that she had the perfect thing in mind to put the evil creature in her place. Everyone else seemed a little shocked by Fluttershy's change in demeanor as well. Fluttershy looked back at Twilight who began to step forward to say when the villains would be sentenced.

But before Twilight could say anything a chuckle was heard. It started out small but quickly grew to a full blown laughter. Spike’s grin drop, everyone else could only stare in shock as the Chrysalis began laughing, as if someone had just told her the worlds most funniest joke.

All since of pride and inspiration that Fluttershy brought from her speech was evaporated in an instant by the ex-queen mocking laugher. Clearly, the yellow Pegasus had no clue who she was talking to.

"What?" Chrysalis asked, locking eyes with Fluttershy's. "You think I care that you still have memories of that stupid lizard? I don't. If anything, it's probably depressing for you all to relive memories with him knowing you can't make any more of them with him. You may think you hold a part of him in you, but that statement is not only wrong, it's stupid as well. That is unless you all did some rather unspeakable things with him during your relationship. If that is the case, I'm glad I was never your ally to begin with. Also, never underestimate a changeling's power to suck love from another being. One Changeling can suck love from 50 creatures in one sitting, no matter how large it may be, and still be able to transport it back to me. Also, "pride as being one of his 12 marefriends". Give me a break. The only reason you probably got with him was out of pure pity. That's right, I heard about that whole admirer fiasco. I just can't buy the fact that you loved him genuinely because this whole confession came out of nowhere. He probably only made up those "reasons" he loved you out of the blue. If anything he only did it for an ego boost, because he's a Dragon among ponies and he needed some, sad reason to validate himself in pony society, even though that whole harem thing changed nothing. Also, I could honestly care less how many poems and letters get sent to you that praise your worthless, little pet. Like I said before, this whole place is a hellhole. What makes you think I'd think of the residents any differently?"

Fluttershy's determined expression turned into a completely shocked one. The cream-colored Pegasus didn't know what to say or do. This was the first time that her speech seemed to have zero effect whatsoever. For a full five seconds, she just stared at Chrysalis' sadistic, grinning visage as if she were a lone piece of a puzzle in a box and the rest of the puzzle was missing, but it felt like a solid half hour to her. Then, her usually vibrant, turquoise eyes drooped to the ground and her vision blurred with salty water. For the first time since seeing her Spike lying on the ground at the scene of that awful battle, she felt powerless and didn't know what to say or do. Neither did anyone else.

Watching Chrysalis mock Fluttershy like that only added fuel to the rage building inside the young Drake. Every word she said just made him angrier and angrier, and it only made him feel worse that he can't do or say anything. Like Fluttershy he to was powerless and couldn't do anything to show how wrong Chrysalis was about his feelings for his herd.

Fortunately for everyone there, however, three loud voices that belonged to Rainbow Dash, Starlight, and Smolder seemed to do the talking for them. The words that exited the mouths of all three girls seemed to cut through the thick silence like a hunting knife.

"HE DID LOVE US AND WE LOVED HIM!!! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK ABOUT HIM LIKE THAT!!!!"

Everyone turned to the source of the voices and found Starlight, Rainbow, and Smolder once again stepping up to face Chrysalis, Thorax and Ember following half a step behind. One look at all five of them told everyone there that any sliver of hope calming them down was now gone. Their faces looked even more irate than before when Fluttershy first intervened. Fluttershy would've wanted to do something to calm them down, but it seemed, even to her, that Chrysalis had blatantly ignored the warning signs. Now, the irredeemable, cold-blooded killer had crossed the point of no return and there was no nothing to stop Chrysalis from receiving a beating like no other. Fluttershy gave a dirty look up at the evil, soulless, former ruler of the Changelings. Chrysalis' smirk turned into a full-blown, evil grin as she returns Fluttershy's look.

"I'm sorry, Chrysalis," Fluttershy said, almost growling as she spoke. "I tried to save you from this, but you left me with no choice but to leave you at the mercy of these five. Have fun."

"Psh," Chrysalis scoffed. "I'll live."

"No, you won't," Starlight said in a low and scary tone as she walked up to the bar of the cell and looked up to her most hated rival. "I am throughly sick of you."

Chrysalis pretended to be surprised.

"Sick of me?" she asked innocently, before turning to the crowd. "Does anyone here have any pills on hoof for this patient? She could be coming down with something very serious."

Starlight's horn began to glow as bright as it did when Chrysalis first laughed at Smolder, Ember, Thorax, and her.

"I have tried to help you to get onto the right path," Starlight growled. "I held out hope for you being alright after you ran away from us, and I was praying that you'd see the light and come join us for a better life, but this is the last straw. You're nothing but a big, sad, ruthless, psychotic waste of oxygen."

Chrysalis was unfazed. She knelt down so she was nose to nose with Starlight. For a solid three seconds, no one moved or said a word. Then, Chrysalis spoke her sentence and it only seemed to anger Starlight, Rainbow Dash, Smolder, Ember, and Thorax further.

"So, revoke my good conduct medal and cancel the parade you were going to throw in my honor, you revolting, little rat."

Celestia and Luna walked up to speak to Chrysalis next. The wore glares almost as bad as Chrysalis' soon-to-be assailants. Chrysalis jumped back up and looked the Royal sisters over with a menacing grin.

"You two again?" she sneered. "There's something different about you, but I just can't put my hoof on it. Wait, don't tell me. You've changed your mane styles."

The Princesses didn't respond. While Luna held her harsh glare to Chrysalis, Celestia levitated a ring of keys, stuck one of them into the key slot of the locked door, jiggled it around for a second, before the door was unlocked and swung inward. The Royal Sisters beckoned for Tirek and Cozy to come with them and they did just that with a word or resistance. They did not want to stick around for what was to come next for their unremorseful cohort. As Cozy passed by the Princesses, both Celestia and Luna noticed there was something off about her, like she was trying to tell them that she wasn't competent when she did all her evil deeds. It seemed her soul was almost broken and crying out for help. The crowd also noticed that and couldn't help but feel like they'd be seeing her again soon. even Starlight, Smolder, Ember, and Thorax had that same feeling in the back of their minds. They pushed that aside for now, they were somewhat eager, and somewhat afraid at the same time, of what the two Dragons, two Ponies, and Changeling were going to do to Chrysalis. It was five to one, but Chrysalis was still taller than all of them and had more experience in fighting. They watched as the five seething creatures entered Chrysalis' cell, followed by Celestia. They moved up to see what was happening, but Luna stopped them.

"No, I'm sorry, but you can't go up there. This is something they need to resolve on their own" she said.

"WHAT!?!" yelled Garble. "Are you crazy?! I don't want my sister fighting that lunatic alone. She's bigger than her and we've already found out she's more dangerous than her."

"The same could be said for my brother," added Pharynx.

Smolder and Thorax overheard their sibling's concern and took a few steps back to look at them. Their expressions softened considerably.

"Don't worry about me, Gar-Gar," Smolder called. "I'll be fine."

"Same with me, Pharynx," called Thorax.

Before either sibling could say another word, Smolder and Thorax went back into the cell. A large glow could be seen from the bars to the crowd.

"What-What happened?" Garble asked.

"Celestia has transported everyone to an ancient battlefield that my sister and I have fought many a foe on," Luna explained. "She had a feeling that something would go down with the heated rivalry between Starlight and Chrysalis and told me that if Chrysalis acted like this, she'd teleport them to that battlefield rather than have them battling in a small cell."

"I swear, if my sister gets really hurt during this, you will not hear the end of it from me," Garble warned. "She means the whole world to me."

"Same with Thorax," Pharynx added again.

Luna remained calm.

"I understand you concerns for your loved ones, but rest assured, should they get hurt, we will make sure that they receive top of the line care."

****

Spike along with his parents just sat there in dungeon along with everyone else, as they waited for Celestia and the combatants return. Like Garble and Pharyrnx, Spike was also worried for his three lovers and two friend. He wish he could go and watch the fight, but of course he nor his parents knew where the old battlefield even is. So, their only option was to just sit and wait.

Spike just sat there on the floor in silence, thinking to himself about everything Chrysalis said. He knew she was evil but not THAT evil. She really didn't have a conscience, let alone a heart. She truly did not care at all that she has murdered a 13-year-old drake, she even went as far to speak ill about his death with a proud smile on her face, as well as mock everything about his relationship with his herd, and spit on Fluttershy’s words as if they were nothing.

Spike didn't want to give in to his anger, but that was easier said than done. When Chrysalis wouldn't shut up. The things she said still infuriated the young drake to no end. Just like Starlight, Smolder, Rainbow, Ember, and Thorax. Although Spike haves no intention to beat up Chrysalis like those five, he does wish he was able to talk to her. If only he could, for he does have a few choice words for her.

Sometime later the group teleported back to the cell where Chrysalis and her cohorts were originally being held in. They stepped out into the hallway and Smolder and Thorax were each glomped by their respective brothers.

“Oh, thank the Gods and Goddesses you’re safe,” Garble exclaimed.

“I missed you too, Gar-Gar,” Smolder smiled. Even though her abdomen was still a little sore from when Chrysalis had kicked her, but she didn’t mind.

“Same with you, Pharynx,” Thorax added.

For a moment, no one said anything as the siblings reunited. Then, Rainbow piped up.

“I feel better now that I got that out of my system,” she said.

Everyone else agreed. Although, despite that, Starlight still felt a tinge of sadness for Chrysalis not seeing the magic of friendship. Sure, she was a psychotic, irredeemable demon, but she felt that maybe, just maybe, there was a sliver of good inside her. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.

Twilight turned to face Tirek and Cozy Glow. forward

"Since you have all plead guilty no contest, you will not have a trial. Your sentencing date will be scheduled in two weeks' time," Twilight said, looking both of them right in the eye. "Make sure to tell Chrysalis that when she wakes up.” Tirek and Cozy nodded. “This meeting is concluded. I will see you then."

With nothing left to say, Twilight looked back at her friends and other Princesses. They all looked back at her, nodded to each other, and trotted out of the dungeon hallway. A couple of guards place Tirek and Cozy back in their cell, as two others took an unconscious Chrysalis to the dungeons medical room to get her patch up. The three spirits, however, stayed behind. Tyson spoke.

“Dang! I wish we could have seen the fight.”

“See it!? I rather be in it.” Said Kimba. “I wish I could have the chance to tear that bitch limb from limb, for the things she said about our son, after she herself aided in his murder.”

Tyson sighed. “I know dear, but there's literally nothing we can do. Just be glad those five gave her the beating she deserved.”

“I know, but still.”

Spike spoke up. “How about we get on out of here, I want to be able to clear my head after all this.”

“Of course, Spike, after all, this whole mess affected you more than us.” Said Kimba.

“Yeah, let's go.” Said Tyson.

With that said, the three spirits left the castle and flew into the sky and going back to heaven.

Author's Note

I originally planned this story to have only two chapters but decided to split my idea in two so things would make sense.

I am of course still working on the last chapter. I want to make sure I give the best I can give when writing my Raven Inkwell stories and this is no exception.

I thought I had things all worked out, but I wasn't satisfied with it at all, it was like I was giving the bare minimum of what I usually do for these stories, and I can't accept that.

Luckily, I found my footing and will have the final chapter out soon.

Chrysalis and Spike have a nice little chat

Chrysalis eyes widen in horror at who it is sitting there at the table. With his disguise fully removed, the former changeling queen could finally see that her suspicions were correct. Sitting there was none other than Spike the dragon.

Shock from seeing the creature that neither she nor anyone would ever see again. A million thoughts race through her head in a matter of seconds in that one single moment, as she tried to figure out what was going on.

The first thing that popped into her head was that it was all a lie and Spike didn't actually die, but that idea was quickly dismiss. It wouldn't make sense for them to lie about Spike’s death, no good would come out of lying about it and being a changeling, Chrysalis can sense everyone’s emotions. She definitely felt great sadness coming from the group that visited her, Tirek, and Cozy Glow a few weeks back. The kind of sadness that one can only feel after a painful loss. So, even though she didn't see Spike die, the groups emotions were more than enough proof that he did die. The next thought was that maybe a changeling was impersonating him, probably Thorax, but that too was dismiss because changelings can sense each other if they concentrate enough. So even if Spike was a Changeling in disguise, Chrysalis would know as she was trying to sense any form of changeling magic inside the young drake, and came up with nothing, not even her ability to sense emotions didn't help, because if this was some kind of illusion spell at work, she wouldn't sense any form of emotion and yet she does and it genuinely match that of the young drake’s. So it was without a doubt, the Spike sitting before her is the real deal.

Chrysalis didn't move at first, she was still in shock from seeing Spike alive and shaking in fear. Of course, Chrysalis wouldn't be afraid of someone like Spike, but the fact that he somehow came back from the grave freak her out, because there's no way that is possible.... Right.

Chrysalis took a moment to calm herself, so she can think more clearly. Despite still being in shock at the fact that Spike was still alive. She slowly tries to regain her composure as she stood up and returned to her seat. The second she sat down, she just simply stared at the drake as he did the same to her. Neither said a word for what felt like an eternity. Which was good for Chrysalis because it gave her time to adjust to the situation she found herself in, as she became more calm and relax, but still a bit shaken.

As Spike sat there glaring at the monster before him. He couldn't help but think back to two weeks ago. Just looking at Chrysalis filled him with so much anger, which only grew more and more with each second passed. As a spirit he couldn't do anything, he could only watch as Chrysalis continued to mock and taunt his lovers and friends, but now he wasn't a spirit anymore, and now he can say his piece, and he sure as hell have a lot to say to his killer.

After a couple minutes of silence Spike spoke. I was there you know,” Chrysalis raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Two weeks ago, in the dungeon, when everyone came to visit you, Tirek, and Cozy Glow, to hear your pleas.”

“What the hell that’s supposed mean?” Chrysalis asked. “You weren't there at all, HELL, you're not supposed to be in this world in general. You're supposed to be dead, yet here you are. Your stupid, fucking girlfriends tol-” Chrysalis never got to finish what she was going to say, as she was interrupted by Spike slamming his fist on the table and yelling at her.

*BANG* ”SHUT UP!!!!”

“Don't you dare even start running your mouth about my herd or my friends. I heard enough of it last time.” Spike shouted. No longer holding back all the pent-up anger and fury he had for the past two weeks. “I didn't come here to listen to your crap, I came here to speak, and you,” Spike pointed at Chrysalis causing her to shift back into her seat. “are going to listen to what I have to say, and you're not going to say a DAMN word until I’m through..... Or else.” He growled, making his threat known by making fire rise in his mouth. Chrysalis could see the green flames trying to get out through his clench teeth. Not wanting to get burn up again, the ex-queen simply nodded, which caused Spike to back down and calm himself.

Although it may only be Spike and Chrysalis in the room. They weren't completely alone. The room they're in haves a large two-way glass window and on the other side are Spike’s lovers and friends. Everyone who was there during visitation of the evil trio two weeks ago were there, plus Cobalt Blitz and Cozy Glow (who is now on the good side) The only ones who weren't there were the three Princesses as they were having a private discussion with Raven Inkwell.

When Spike said he wanted to speak to Chrysalis, everyone wanted to be there to support him. At first, they thought they would visit both of the now evil duo in their cell, like before, but Spike wanted to do this on his own and speak to Chrysalis alone. He had no real reason to talk Tirek. Yes, he knows how the centaur took advantages of Cozy Glow mental illness and used her for his plans for revenge. He was there the day Cobalt Blitz came to the castle and told everyone Cozy’s backstory, which later led to Tirek telling his tale. As much as Spike may have hated Tirek for what he had done to the young filly, like everyone else, his fight wasn't with the magic sucking centaur, that was Cobalt’s battle. No, his fight was with Chrysalis. Not a physical one, he haves no intention to hurt her like that, even back then he didn't. She already suffered enough physical damage, so, he will only use his words and tell this demon what's what.

“YEAH! YOU TELL HER, SPIKE!” Smolder cheered. Though neither Spike nor Chrysalis can hear her. The room the two are in is magically soundproof. There is a way for those inside and outside the interrogation room to communicate with one another via microphone and speakers, as well as turn off the two-way function on the mirror, but Spike’s friends promise not to interfere with his meeting with Chrysalis, so all they could do is watch. Which was fine by them, as they can enjoy the show.

Once Spike was assured that Chrysalis won't say anything, he spoke. “I’ll be honest with you Chrysalis, despite your past misdeeds, I truly believed that you had some good in you, even if it was just a small flicker. I thought that maybe the news of my death and that you had played a part in ending my life, would get you to see the error of your ways and feel awful for what you did.” Spike shake his head disappointingly. “But you prove me wrong in more ways than one. I noticed it from the moment I saw you. I saw how excited you were. One look into your eyes told me that you were beyond redemption, but even so I held out to what little hope there was, in the chance you might change for the better, but it was all for naught.”

Spike glared angrily at the changeling before him. “You truly are a heartless creature. You don't even have a sliver of remorse for killing me and you would go as far as to make jokes about my death and take great pride in it and if that wasn't bad enough, you would call the love between me, and my herd was a lie.”

"pride as being one of his 12 marefriends".

“You're wrong, I do love my herd and they love me. Everything about our relationship is 100% genuine and rather you believe it or not doesn't matter, in fact I don't see how you can’t considering that you still devour love, and being a changeling means you can sense other creatures emotions; their true emotions. So there’s no doubt in my mind that you know that the romantic feelings my herd haves for me is real. You just chose to ignore it.”

Chrysalis said nothing.

“It infuriated me not being able to do anything when you kept talking crap about my herd as it made them and my friends anger grow more and more, each time you time you spoke bad about me. You saw how mad Smolder, and Starlight were getting, along with Ember, Rainbow, and Thorax. They wanted nothing more than to beat you up, until Fluttershy jump in to calm them down.” Spike let out a sigh. “She was only trying to save you from being beaten to a pulp and how do you thank her? By laughing at her speech and spitting on it. She wanted to help but you wouldn't let her.” Spike smirk. “And judging from your injuries when you all came back from your fight. I bet you regret everything you said now.”

That hit the mark. Any fear Chrysalis had of the young Drake was completely replaced by her own rage thanks to the young Drake’s mockery. “Like you're the one to talk. At least I’m still alive and not a fucking ghost.” She growled.

“Maybe, but I'm not the one lock away behind bars.” Spike argued.

“I rather be lock in a cell, than spending an eternity rotting in deepest depths of Tartarus. (The Afterlife version)” Chrysalis countered.

Spike smiled. “Ah, yes, I do remember you making a bet involving that.”

I'm willing to bet money that he's probably already reunited with his parents in the bowels of Tartarus. Now, they can all enjoy rotting down there together.

“And it looks like you lost. You were right about me reuniting with my parents but was wrong about the place.” Spike spread his wings wide to show them off to Chrysalis.

Chrysalis eyes widen at the sight of the white feathery wings. She was focus on the fact of seeing Spike alive again that she didn't even notice them at first, nor did she notice the glowing ring above his head, just now noticing that too.

“You like them,” Spike asked. "Aris and Erin gave them to me,"

Chrysalis was shocked to hear those names. “Aris and Erin are the two twin alicorn goddess sisters of heaven, so that.... Means......”

Spike nodded. “It means I went to heaven not Tartarus and I got to meet my parents there to. So, thanks for reuniting us by the way.” He said with a smirk, which in turn was making Chrysalis furious. “Sure, our reunion was only possible because of my death, but we’re happy, also there's a high chance that I won't remain dead for long neither.”

Chrysalis eye twitch. “What!?” She growled.

“Yeah, as it turns out Celestia and Luna are looking for an ancient spell that can open a portal between heaven and the living world, which will allow me come back to the living world and stay as long as I want.”

Chrysalis mouth fell open. She was completely shock at the news. “YOU'RE LYING,” She yelled. “There’s no way such a spell even exist.”

Spike simply shrugs. “Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, but they believe it exist and when they find it, I’ll truly be reunited with my herd and we’ll be able to continue from where we left off, before you murdered me.”

Chrysalis couldn't believe this; she seriously couldn't believe any of this. She didn't want you to believe that the royal sisters would find such a spell but staring at the purple drake before her only fills her mind with doubt. Sure, he’s only here temporarily now but if they do succeed in bringing him back permanently. It would be Spike and his friends who will have the last laugh, and the thought of it began to break Chrysalis mind.

“Funny, how the tables turned against you so dramatically, huh Chrysalis.” Said Spike.

Chrysalis just clutch her head in her hooves. ”No! This is not how it was supposed to end.” She glares at Spike. “This is supposed to be MY VICTORY!!!!!”

“Well, its not and it never was, it was mine, you may have killed me, but in doing so you only added murder to your already large list of crimes.” Spike glared at the ex-queen. “You can say all the crap you want about me, my friends, are my herd, but at the end of day YOU are the one who lost everything. You could have chose to help lead your people to a bright and better future, where they never have to go hungry again, you could have become friends with Equestria, with Starlight. You had choice to be better and live a peaceful life, but instead you let your pride blind you from what's really important.” Spike sighed. “If only you took Starlight’s hoof that day.

If only you gave friendship a chance.

I have no doubt you would have become someone better than what you are now.

And I would have loved to meet that creature.”

Tears was beginning to fall from Chrysalis face as Spike’s words were starting to get to her. For the first time since her in her whole life, she felt a feeling that she never even thought she feel and hurt the changeling more than the beating she had gotten ever did.

“AHHHGHH!!!!!”

Chrysalis fell from her chair and onto the floor, she spasmed and thrashed, around. The changeling leaped to her hooves, threw her head back, and screamed a primal, echoing scream.

(Here's a little example, minus the fire breathing)

(Outside the interrogation room)

“Wh-What did Spike do to her?” Fluttershy whimpered in horror.

“Is she... dying?” Starlight asked.

“Neigh, Starlight Glimmer,” Luna answered softly, as she, Celestia, and Twilight entered the room the group were in. “It would seem Chrysalis will is broken, so to speak.”

“Twilight, Princesses. What are you doing here?” Asked Sweetie belle.

“We had a feeling Spike would want to come here, after all, he haves the right to speak with his murderer.” Twilight answers. “After our conversation with Raven, the three of us search for you all in your guest rooms. When you weren't there, this was the second place to come to mind.” Twilight finished as she stared at the crying ex-queen.”

“Princess Luna, what did you mean that Chrysalis will is broken?” Asked Rarity.

“And, how? And, why now?” Asked Rainbow.

“Chrysalis, may have been putting on a brave face, but that was just a fragile mask, that was slowly cracking since her people reformed into something she never thought was possible.” Luna sighed.

Thorax steps up. “But I thought Chrysalis knew that changelings could give love and had been hiding that truth from us.”

Celestia speaks. “It was clear on the look on her face that day, that she did not know. Her whole life she believed that changelings needed to take love in order to survive, she was also drunk off the power it gives her, as it does make her stronger. She said as much at the royal wedding.”

Princess Cadance: She's a changeling. She takes the form of somepony you love and gains power by feeding off your love for them.

Queen Chrysalis: [laughing] Right you are, Princess. And as queen of the changelings, it is up to me to find food for my subjects. Equestria has more love than any place I've ever encountered. My fellow changelings will be able to devour so much of it that we will gain more power than we have ever dreamed of!

“And it was that fateful day when her people reformed, that Chrysalis whole world shattered around her.” Luna spoke. “Her pride wouldn't allow her to accept the fact that the changelings never needed to take love and it sure didn't want to accept defeat by the hands of friendship, something she always seen as weak and useless. Combine that with her ever growing insanity during her self-exile, her loss in the final battle, how some of you spoke to her at our first meeting with her, especially you Fluttershy, your speech did more to Chrysalis than she's willing to admit.”

“Because her pride won't let her.” Fluttershy said sadly. Feeling sorry for Chrysalis.

Luna simply nodded. “No doubt the beating also played a part as well but seeing Spike again and hearing about how he'll come back,” Luna steps up closer to the window. “Was the final stone that shattered her mask completely, her pride destroyed by the very reality that no matter what she says and how much she denies it, friendship will always be magic.” Luna presses a couple of buttons on the monitor before her. One turned off the windows 2-way function, thus allowing Spike and Chrysalis to see everyone on the other side, the second button open a communication link between them.

Seeing the group again only made Chrysalis feel even worse. At the peak of her wailing, shw collapsed and gathered herself into a fetal ball, shuddering all over, as she sobbed.

“We know that sound,” Luna continued, her voice being heard through the speakers. “We know it all too well. It is the cry of the most personal pain. The wound for which there is no remedy but wisdom and time: Shame.”

Applejack walked up to the moon princess.

“Ya… ya saying she grew a conscience?” she whispered. “After all she’s done?”

Luna nodded. She said nothing.

Chrysalis ground her head against the floor, trembling with regret over many atrocities she had committed. “I… n-never… I can’t…” She bashed the ground with her forehead, cracking the stone.

Luna spoke. “It will never end on its own,” she said softly. “You cannot flee from regret. You cannot hide from guilt. But penance and restitution can soothe it, Chrysalis. If you do not face your crimes and make amends, they will haunt you forevermore.”

Chrysalis looks up and glared at Luna “NO! You know nothing! NOTHING! I don’t need you! I don’t need your PITY!”

The changeling snarled at Luna, crawling backward, trying to get away. She crawled until she came up to Spike, who floated over to her. The young drake looked down at her as he hovered above the ex-queen. He no longer felt anger towards Chrysalis, only pity.

“You tried to take over the world, and murdered me to do it,” he said, calmly and firmly. “I can see that you can feel every ounce of regret for your past misdeeds and being a changeling is only making those emotions feel that much worse for you.” Chrysalis said nothing. Opting to just glare angrily at Spike as she tries to fight through the pain. “So say it. For Celestia’s sake, just tell me and everyone here that you’re sorry!”

Spike’s words made Chrysalis cringe in shame, but she wrenched her head side to side in refusal.

”F-fuck you!”

Even now Chrysalis still tries to hold on to her pride, but everyone can see it was a losing battle. The weight of her emotions were just to heavy. Try as she might, the ex-queen knows that she had truly lost. This time it wasn't by a shield powered by love, or her people giving love, nor was it Grogar’s bell exploding in her face, and it definitely wasn't the power of the magic of friendship. No, in the end the one to truly defeat Chrysalis was herself, crush by very emotions she tried to keep bottled up and lock away, until they no longer could be contained any longer and with that the final member of the L.O.D. was beaten.

Spike let out a deep sigh. He didn't know what else he could say to help Chrysalis ease her pain. Maybe with time she’ll learn, and one day she might actually apologize for everything she’d done, until then all he and everyone else could do was wait.

Chrysalis laid there, face down on the floor, as she continued to cry and sob. Spike had no reason to stay any longer and decided to take his leave, but before he did, he had two more thing he wanted to say.

Before I forget, I never answered your question from earlier. I came back thanks to your defense attorney, Raven Inkwell. She's the reason I was able to come back like this.” He sighed. “And one more thing I want to say, that despite everything said and done,” Spike takes a deep breath. “I forgive you Chrysalis, even though you murdered me, I forgive you.” He said with smile.

Everyone watching couldn't believe it what they just heard, but at the same time, it wasn't that surprising. This is Spike after all, the dragon with a heart of gold. Once again Spike had shown just how amazing he truly is, by being able to forgive the monster who ended his life. Twilight felt tears of pure joy welling up in her eyes. Spike proven once again that he haves a kindest soul than anyone could've ever imagined. Everyone else, even Luna and Celestia, teared up with joy as well.

Chrysalis continued crying but something sounded off about her sobs. The smile on Spike’s and everyone else's faces quickly drops, when they heard the all too familiar sound of the changeling evil chuckle.

Her chuckling started out small but began grow as Chrysalis began to pick herself up off the floor and soon it quickly grew to a full blown laughter by the time she sat up to her full hieght. It was like what happened to Fluttershy two weeks ago. Everyone could only stare in shock as the Chrysalis began laughing, as if someone had just told her the worlds second most funniest joke.

Chrysalis was laughing like crazy, all signs of the weaken state she was in just a moment ago was completely gone. Nobody knew what the hell was going on, but they do know one thing, they been played.

“Well, it’s about time you drop the act.”

That caught Spike and his friends by surprise. The large group of friends turned around to face the source of the familiar voice, as Spike flew up to the window to see for himself, and standing right there was the smug grinning, glasses wearing mare herself.

”RAVEN!” Smolder growled in anger.

Raven adjusted her glasses. “Hello Smolder! Did you miss me?”

Things are not as they seem

“One: Hell no, and Two: What are you doing here?”

Raven chuckled. “Oh, I have my reasons as well as my rights. Chrysalis is my client after all, speaking of which.” Raven walked pass the group to the window and stared at the laughing changeling. “Well done, Chryssie, you put on quite the show,” Raven clap her hooves. “I applaud your performance.” She said with a grin.

Chrysalis, stop her laughing, stood up, and took a quick bow. “Thank you, thank you, but I can't take all the credit, it was your idea after all.”

Everyone was shocked at what Chrysalis just said.

“Wait, you plan this?” Smolder asked Raven.

Raven chuckled. “Indeed I did.”

“Why!?”

“Because you fools need a harsh lesson, that's why!”

“And what lesson is that?” Asked Starlight.

Raven grin. “To never take something you see or hear out of context and gather all the facts before assuming anything.” Raven adjusts her glasses. “You idiots have proven time and time again just how incompetent you are at dealing with situations that requires a little more thought than just taking it at face value. Because of this, you all can be easily fooled, and the one doing the fooling doesn't even have to try, like Spike actually fooling the 12 of you with his terrible disguise, Discord and his plan to help Twilight, which is chuck full of holes, and don't get me started on Celestia and Luna.”

“Wait!? What about Celestia and Luna?” Twilight asked.

Raven waves a dismissive hoof. “It's nothing, that's a can of worms I don't want to open and it haves nothing to do with this case. So just forget I said anything.”

Twilight and the others were curious about what Raven just said about the royal sisters but decided to just drop it. Besides they have other things to worry about and didn't need anything new to the pile.

Raven continues. “As I was saying, you guys are very easy to fool because you never bother to try to think things through or ask question.” Raven points a hoof at the ex-queen. “Take Chrysalis for example, you all easily fell for her tricks twice in a span of two weeks and not once considered see was just playing you, despite how obvious it was.”

Smolder steps up. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”

Raven adjusted her glasses. “Why don't I let my good friend Chrysalis explain.” She said with a smirk.

“Oh, I would be delighted, to explain everything.” Chrysalis said. Causing everyone to turn their attentions to her.

Chrysalis turned her attention to Spike. “Like Raven said, you and your dead brain herd mates need to learn not to take everything you see or hear at face value,” Chrysalis smirk. “But more importantly, you idiots shouldn't have taken words so seriously.” Chrysalis chuckle. “Ever heard the old saying about sticks and stones? No doubt you haven't or you guys wouldn't have let the things I said get to you.”

“And why wouldn't we? You just kept going on and on as you kept saying hurtful things about me and my friends.” Spike growled. “Like when you said I went to Tartarus.”

“So, what do you honestly think I give two shits where you went after you died?” Chrysalis said nonchalantly.

Spike snap out of his stupor and look at the ex-queen in confusion.

Chrysalis shrugs. “What!? You don't honestly believe I was being serious about you going to tartarus.” She chuckles. “I just said all that just to piss off your stupid friends, no more no less. Not my fault they took things too seriously, when they could of chose to easily ignore me.”

Those words hit Spike and his friends hard, and was made worse when Raven spoke.

”Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me? Yet you idiots kept letting her get to you.”

Chrysalis spoke. “I mean seriously, you had me beat. My only means of hurting you all were nothing but hurtful words, which in the long run wouldn't mean a thing in the end.”

Raven continues. ”I mean come on, Chrysalis was just attacking you with the only weapon she had left, her words. Who cares about all the hurtful things she said. In the long run it won't mean anything. Yet you fools took her seriously and fell right into her little trap.”

Chrysalis spoke. “I knew if I kept pushing their buttons, chances are they would be dumb enough to want to fight me, mainly Glimmer. She was the one I hated most and the first one who wanted to beat me up, first.”

“Y-you plan your own beating?” Spike asked.

Chrysalis grin. “Indeed, although I didn't plan on a 5v1.” She shrugs. “I was hoping it would just be me and Starlight, but I knew that dragon girl definitely wanted in, since she was just as piss at me, but I didn't account on Rainbow, Ember, and most definitely not Thorax to join in.”

“Which is why you were so focus on going after Starlight, during the fight?” Said Smolder.

“Exactly! She was all I really cared about hurting, but of course with four others aiding her and her own fighting skills, it was difficult for me to take her down. I was lucky enough to sink my teeth into her the first time, but sadly things didn't go as planned.”

“Yeah, because in the end all you did was get yourself beat up.” Said Starlight.

Chrysalis shrugs. “True, but I'm don’t really care about that fight anymore,” Turns her attention back to Spike. “Just as much as I don't care why you bother calling me here.”

“I called you here to talk-”

“About what exactly?” Chrysalis interrupted. “There's nothing you said that hasn't already been said by your stupid lovers.”

That made Spike angry.

“You didn't come here to talk, you came here to gloat. You were so excited about telling me that you became an angel and went to heaven, no doubt wanting to see me have some kind of crazy mental break down because of it.” Chrysalis chuckled. “Which is why my best friend Raven over there, came up with the plan beforehand. She told Tirek and I everything about how she could see you thanks to the enchantment on her glasses, as well as her plan to revive you, she also knew that you would want a one on one conversation with me. So when the guard told the details about my visitor. I knew it was you from the very start and just faked my surprise of seeing you as well as everything else that happened after.”

“And let's give credit where credit is due,” Said Raven. “We can't forget, Luna’s unexpected role in this, her theory about Chrysalis pride shattering, really help sell it and got everyone here believing that my client was really having a mental breakdown.” Raven laugh mockingly at the moon Princess, which only made the alicorn angry. Celestia place a comforting hoof on her sister shoulder to calm her down. Raven continues. “Like I said, don't take everything at face value so quickly, you fools should have guess Chrysalis was faking her breakdown, after how she treated you all two weeks ago.”

Chrysalis shook her head in disappointment. “Even I knew a goody goody two shoes like you was going to heaven. It was no question about that. Why you and your friends took my words so seriously, I’ll never know.” Chrysalis shrugs. “I mean seriously what were you hoping to accomplish with this visit of yours. Hope I would ask for forgiveness and change my ways, HA! Well tough luck kid, you wasted what little time you have left in this world coming here to vist me,” Chrysalis put on a wicked smirk. “Just like how you wasted your own life.”

That gave Spike and his friends paused as they just stood in shock from Chrysalis words.

Chrysalis chuckles. “It would seem the tables have turned, hasn't it, you little brat. Here you and your friends want to place the blame of your murder on me, Tirek, and Cozy Glow too of course. When in reality,” Chrysalis evil smirk grew wide “there was no murder at all.

Everybody eyes widen in sure disbelief at what Chrysalis just said.

“That's riiiiight!” Raven sang. Getting everyone’s attention. The glasses wearing mare was sitting on a stool with her hind legs crossed. Standing just beside her with his arms crossed while smiling was none other than Tirek himself. Raven summoned a cup of ice coffee out of thin air, holding it in her magic. “Spike was never murdered, which means Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow are 100% innocent in that claim. After all,” Raven took a sip of her drink and smiled at the group before saying.

”they don't call it Spike’s Sacrifice for nothing.”

To be continued.

Author's Note

Looks like things are taking a great turn. Raven claims that the evil three are innocent and thus did not murder Spike, but how exactly?

Just what are you up to now, Raven and how exactly are those three not guilty?

Raven: Not to worry, all will be explained in the next and final chapter. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Raven smirk.

Sorry for the short chapter everybody, originally this was how chapter 3 was supposed to end, but I was running out of time before I had to leave for work and I wanted to get that chapter out on that day like I promise, which is why I cut things short while I was ahead.

Any way the next chapter for this little side project will be the last, and I hope to get it out as soon as I can.

Until next time:twilightsmile:

The reality and truth behind Spike's sacrifice

Originally, this was truly supposed to be the final chapter of this story, but it felt too much like I was rushing things, plus there were much needed details that needed fleshing out.

I know this was supposed to be a side project, but I can't help but give the best I can. Which is part of the reason this chapter took longer than expected.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the chapter and I hope to get the next chapter out soon.

This story will not continue beyond this point. All my focus will be on the New version of OBJECTION this story will resume there.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience:pinkiesad2:

The reality and truth behind Spike's sacrifice

Everyone just stared dumbfoundedly at the glasses wearing mare, who sat on her stool, next to Tirek who stood beside his shared defense attorney, with his shackled arms cross, grinning smugly.

Chrysalis and Spike were still in the interrogation room and thanks to Luna turning off the one-way mirror and turning on the communication speakers earlier. They can both see and hear everything going on in the other room.

The room was silent as Spike's group tried to process what the piece of information they just heard. The silence was soon broken by one orange dragoness.

"THE HELL DO YOU MEAN THAT, SPIKE'S DEATH WASN'T A MURDER?"

Smolder yelled with righteous fury as she stared angrily at the glasses wearing unicorn.

"AND WHAT THE HAY IS TIREK DOING HERE?"

Yelled Rainbow. Also, just as angry.

Raven finished her Hazlenut ice coffee and made the cup disappear into thin air with her magic. She then adjusted her glasses before finally speaking. "Tirek is here because he haves the right to be." She answers. "I made sure to grab him before coming here, as he too was convicted for a crime he didn't commit." Turns her attention to Smolder. "And what do you mean, what do I mean? Chrysalis and I said it as clear as day. Spike death wasn't a murder!"

"THE HELL IT WASN'T!" Roared Smolder. "It's straight up fact that those two along with; and I hate to say it. Cozy glow, killed Spike."

"And how could you be so sure about that, Ms. Smolder?" Asked Raven "As I recall, you weren't there during that particular moment, so your argument is invalid."

"THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT SPIKE DIED BECAUSE OF THOSE THREE!!!!" Smolder yelled.

Raven shook her head in disagreement. "And that's where you and everyone else are wrong." She countered. "Though it's true that it was because of their magic blast that cause the bell to explode, that doesn't mean they were the absolute cause of it."

"AND HOW THE HAY WERE THEY NOT THE CAUSE?'" Yelled Rainbow. "My friends and I saw the whole thing, we were right there when it happened, and just as you said how Smolder wasn't there when it happened, neither were you."

"True, but you forget, Rainbow Dash, I been investigating this case for the past three weeks and part of that investigation meant talking to you and the rest of your friends about what happened that day," Raven adjusts her glasses. "Mainly, Twilight. She's actually the only one I needed to talk to. You and everyone else already know about my relationship with her as well as Spike. I knew the two of them for years, so of course, Twilight and I had a moment to talk about things. I even asked if I could perform a memory spell on her, so I can see how it all happened for myself. So, even if I wasn't there, I know exactly what happened."

Raven let out a heavy sigh. "And what I witness, still mind boggles me, on how all of you could even believe for a millisecond that the evil trio were responsible for Spike's death. When it's clear as day that they weren't." She lets out another heavy sigh. "But given yours and your friends history with these kinds of things. I don't know why I should be surprised anymore."

"And what the hay is that supposed to mean?" Asked AJ.

"It means that you all have a long history of being absolutely dense. You all suffer from some illness that makes you unable to process a situation logically. The solution could be absolutely obvious, but you would just either flat out ignore it or don't even try to really use your brains." Raven explains. "Remember earlier during the meeting, I proved just how stupid the 12 of you are, for not being able to tell that Spike was the secret admirer who been sending you those letters. Hell, even when you all saw him in the worst disguise ever, that doesn't even cover up his most defining features,"

"Like his wings, tail, height, scales, the facts that he clearly wasn't a pony, that five of you who are a part Spike's herd each saw him in that same exact disguise once before, that one of you out those same five known him his whole life since she first hatch him from his egg, and that he is literally the only one in Ponyville who haves Gabby's address and can send an unmark letter to her without having to use the post office where he would have to mark it properly." Ocellus added.

"YOU STILL COULDN'T TELL THAT IT WAS SPIKE THE WHOLE TIME." Raven bellowed. Causing her fellow herdmates to wince at the accusation. For they knew she was right. "And that's just one out of the million problems you idiots could have solved if you just use your fucking heads. Remember what I mentioned earlier, about how the Mane 6 are unable to process a situation logically and just flat out ignore the obvious solution. I already told you back at the meeeting about MMMM, and how the solution to that was to simply have some fucking patience." Raven glares at Rarity, Rainbow, and Fluttershy. Who only wince back from her stare.

Raven continues. "And the list goes on and on, The Parasprites, The Magic Duel, Mare Do Well, The Zombie Prank, The Play about Celestia, that one Cider Season when you all first met Flim and Flam, HA! That was a good one, and just so members of the young six isn't left out, there was even that whole mess with Rainbow being the coach for the cheerleading squad." Raven shook her head disappointedly. "And as much as I would love to explain each issue in great detail. It would be a waste of time, and besides that's not my job here, No, that privilege belongs to someone else."

"And who exactly are you talking about?" Smolder asked.

Raven said nothing, she just sat there on her stool, quietly, while thinking about, HER.

*****

Raven would want nothing more than explain in great detail about each of the groups past issues, hell she would love to point out all their flaws, that would serve to prove her point on just how stupid they all are. It would help in her case immensely, but it will give out information that can't be processed, questions would be asked that can't be answered, at least not here. Definitely not here, no! That job belongs only to her, the other one the other,

RAVEN INKWELL.

From the other universe.

Inside Raven's office is a large grand mirror. That look similar to the one Twilight haves at her castle and like that one, this mirror is also a gateway to another world.

Raven had no idea how it got there or where it came from. She was just sitting in her office thinking about her beloved who had just died that fateful day, and it just suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Before Raven could question why a mirror suddenly appeared before her, the reflection of her and her office was replaced by image of..... Herself standing there smiling.

"Why Hello, Ms. Inkwell. It's a pleasure for you and I to meet, for we have much to talk about a certain Draconequus who's needs to own up to his crimes."

And that's how This Raven met That Raven and together they both set up a plan to make sure that Discord of this universe was seen for the monster he is. Both Ravens were alike in many ways but different in others, the same can be said about their respective universes. For example in rhe other Raven universe, she never was a defense attorney, nor did she work any job in the court room. She is and and has always been Celestia's secretary assistant.

She too was also fighting her battle against Discord, though it sounded more like a war. One that other Raven had finally found the opportunity to see coming to an end, by her Discord's own hands. When he confess starting the Legion of doom, but things didn't go as she thought they would. Like the mane 6 and friends of this universe, the ones in the other world also forgave Discord, which really piss the other Raven off. So, she decided to take care of things herself.

Raven could relate to the other Raven issues to some degree, but what she really didn't understand is why she had such burning hatred towards her Discord. Raven wanted to ask but decided against it.

Raven learned how her other self plans to take down her Discord. It involved showing the Mane 6 their flaws, which is why Raven can't use that plan here. It would open up a whole can of worms definitely not fit for this world, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have ways that are.

The other Raven have her way to take down her Discord. This Raven have hers. Two complete separate different paths leading to the same exact goal with different outcomes.

*****

After a moment of silence. Raven let out sigh before speaking. "It doesn't matter." She answers. "Besides, we don't want to get sidetrack talking about pointless subjects."

"I agree!" Said Chrysalis, getting everyones attention. She is sitting by the window next to Spike who just hovered next to her. Both were watching and listening to everything being said. "Let's not waste time here, Raven, let's just get to part that proves that the once evil trio are not, this brat killers."

Spike glares at Chrysalis. "How could you say that with a straight face, when you clearly did kill me. The three of you even confess, when you pleaded guilty, no contest."

Chrysalis scoff. "A complete oversight, nothing more. And thanks to my attorney, here. I can proudly retract my previous plea and can now say, that I am NOT guilty, no contest."

Tirek nodded. "I to plea, not guilty, no contest. You can blame us all you want for our past crimes."

"But you can't blame us for a crime we didn't commit." Chrysalis finished.

Raven adjusted her glasses. "And of course, I have evidence to prove their innocence, and I think it's best to deal with this here and now, so you fools can stop blaming them for Spike's death."

"And what proof could you possibly have?" Smolder asked.

Raven simply smiled as she lit her horn, making a memory screen appear. "As I said earlier, during my investigation, I spoke with Twilight, of course, and she shared her memories with me of that fateful day. So, let's watch and see who's really responsible for Spike's death." With that said, Raven lit her horn to play the memory, and every creature sat and watch.

Chrysalis chuckles. "I wish I had some popcorn." *POOF* out of thin air, a bag of popcorn appeared in Chrysalis hooves. Curtesy of one glasses wearing unicorn, who was also enjoying her own popcorn, along with Tirek. Chrysalis simply smiled at Raven, as she too started eating her snack.

(Twilight's Memories, Spike's Sacrifice)

Spike was in unimaginable pain as he felt his wings about to be dislocated from their sockets, but he put that aside. He knew that Equestria’s fate was worth far more than his wellbeing.

“Don’t worry about me! Just save Equestria! Just remember that I love all of - Argh!” The purple dragon was abruptly cut off by another jolt of pain.

Spike mustered up the energy to open one of his eyes just a little bit, only to find his six harem members standing down. He then felt himself being thrown toward his friends; the wind felt cool as he flew through the air. The feeling of falling was quickly replaced with a pair of hooves surrounding his small body as his friends all formed a protective huddle around Twilight.

“Turns out that the magic of Friendship proves to be your greatest weakness,” Tirek taunted. “A fitting end to your pathetic story.”

The villains grinned wickedly as they charged up their magic and prepared to finally rid themselves of their burdens once and for all. In that moment, Tirek’s final seven words hit home as the group of girls realized just how much trouble they were in. Spike suddenly felt all his pain vanish as he looked up and saw his marefriends’ horrified faces.

"I'm so sorry, girls. I'm so sorry, Spikey," Twilight whimpered. "I don't think we'll be making it out of this one."

The adrenaline raced through Spike's body at lightning speeds, and everything slowed down when he heard Twilight say that. He knew that his lovers needed to be saved and he was the only one to do it. Without another moment to spare, he broke free of Twilight’s grasp and flew as fast as he could towards the object that nearly cost him the use of his wings.

Twilight was shocked at what she saw, her friend turned lover was flying toward the monsters at breakneck speeds and had successfully nabbed the bell from their grasp.

The next few seconds were a blur to Spike. One second, he was on the ground. The next, he was in the air, nabbing the enchanted bell from the monsters’ grasp. His adrenaline levels were through the roof. Never in his life had he ever felt more determined on a mission to save his friends turned lovers. If he was in pain before, he sure didn’t show it now. His wings, however, weren’t as mobile as before, no doubt in Spike’s mind that they were likely broken due to the severe abuse they received no more than one minute ago. The villains were furious.

“Give that back, you repulsive, little brat!” Chrysalis spat as she prepared to zap Spike.

Out of pure instinct, Spike stuck Grogar’s bell out in front of him, and the green jolt of magic hit it. Somehow, the bell absorbed the magic blast, which avoided further injury to Spike. Spike looked at the bell and noticed It was lined with cracks and faintly glowing a moderate shade of green. He had no doubt in his mind that Chrysalis’ magic had damaged it. He then quickly laid out a plan in his mind to defeat them. For this to work, he’d need to trick them into zapping the bell several times to overload it with magic and then fly it toward them at the last second before the enchanted object exploded. He already figured it would likely kill him too, but for Equestria it was worth it.

“You want this bell so bad?” Spike taunted from above. “Then come and get it.”

Cozy Glow growled. “Challenge accepted, lizard.”

The evil Pegasus turned Alicorn flew after the pre-teen dragon and fired another magic blast at him. Spike once again stuck the bell out and blocked it. It looked more cracked and was glowing a bit brighter.

“Spike! What are you doing?! You’re going to get hurt!” Rainbow Dash yelled.

“Don’t worry about my safety, Rainbow! Just get out of here. All of you!” Spike called back as the third blast of magic hit the bell and made it glow even brighter.

Spike’s adrenaline was starting to wear off and he began to feel the pain in his wings return as the fourth blast of magic hit the bell. It was now badly damaged with cracks much larger lining the surface of the enchanted object, it was now glowing a very vibrant shade of green, and it was giving off a low hum.

“One more blast should do it,” Spike said, his adrenaline and newfound strength gradually waning.

The little dragon's eyes seeked out his targets like two green missiles until they finally fell upon them after no more than two seconds of looking. He flew toward the fiends with all the strength he had. This was it. This was the climax of the plan; destroy the bell and render Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, and Tirek useless. Everything seemed to slow down even further for Spike as his vision narrowed down to the three beings that he zeroed toward.

***

Less than 50 feet away, Twilight and her friends watched the scene with horror. They had easily put two and two together and knew Spike was trying to sacrifice himself to save them and Equestria. They immediately huddled together.

“We can’t leave him,” Applejack said. “He can’t lose his life because he’s trying to save us. He's got so much to look forward to his life, more than just with us.”

“Agreed,” said Rarity. “We can’t leave Spikey-Wikey to die at the hands of these monsters.”

"C'mon," Rainbow Dash said. "Let's get a plan together and save-"

Before Rainbow Dash could say anything more, her friends and she heard an ear-splitting explosion. They turned around only to find a huge, white beam of light shoot towards the sky. All six ponies felt their hearts sink and fresh tears welled up in their eyes as they knew full well that they were too late to save their lover. Their hearts simultaneously shattered inside them. The sound was almost audible to the outside world.

***

As Spike sped towards his targets, Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis powered up another blast of magic each. This time, instead of firing individually, they unleashed their blasts all at once. The three separate blasts quickly connected with one another, and it formed the biggest blast of magic that the three evil doers had ever seen in their lives as it raced toward the teenage reptile. Right as the blasts connected, Spike stuck out Grogar’s bell once more, and the villains instantly realized that they had screwed up. The blast hit the bell, it detonated, and was blown to smithereens and enveloped all four of them in a huge surge of magic.

Spike felt all his strength and adrenaline finally fade away as the bell exploded, and it enveloped him in its overloaded magic surge. The bright, white light was too much for Spike's eyes to handle and he shut them tightly and gritted his teeth. Whatever pain he had felt before was nothing compared to what he felt now. Fragments of the bell lodged deep into the crevices that divided his Lavender scales. Other parts of his body had their scales ripped off like paper by much larger fragments, lining his under-scales with deep cuts. The surge of magic tore throughout his immune system and internal organs. The skin and muscle tissue on his wings was charred instantly and began to slowly flake away. Revealing his cracked and slowly crumbling wing bones, which were also losing pieces fast. He began to feel an extremely awful burning sensation on every centimeter of his small torso. The adolescent had lost the ability to smell and taste due to his sinuses being fried almost instantly and his ears rang loudly. He hit the ground on his back with a small thud. The second Spike did hit the ground, his already badly cracked wing bones finally shattered to pieces, and it sent another enormous rush of pain through his destroyed nerves. However, every bit of pain he felt reminded him of his heroic deed.

***

Twilight and the girls could only show horror as the giant, white beam gradually faded away. All was eerily quiet afterward. With the bell destroyed, the villains had lost their powers and now lay unconscious on the ground. Cozy Glow had turned back into a Pegasus, Queen Chrysalis was stripped of her enchanted body armor and head crest and her teal mane was singed at the end, and Tirek’s rejuvenated state had vanished. He was now the old, frail Centaur that Twilight and her friends had run into in Tartarus. The ponies didn’t care about what the state their assailants were in, they wanted to find Spike and see, if by some miracle, if he was still alive.

They soon found him lying on his back near where the center of the magic blast had erupted. The tears that had been welling up in their eyes now slowly oozed down their faces and it took all their strength not to throw up when they saw their terminally wounded drakefriend. The lavender dragon was impaled by several shards on the bell, with red blood already seeping out of the many cuts that lined his body, the entire front of his abdomen was dark grey and smoking, and he was barely breathing. Pieces of his outer scales, small bits of scorched, smoking tissue, and shriveled up, blackened flakes of skin which used to be on his wings that had been ripped off by the shards of the destroyed bell now lay scattered around him. Large pieces of bones that were once the structure of his new wings also joined the pile of debris that consisted of pieces of Spike's body and Grogar's Bell.

The group of ponies felt like the ground beneath their hooves grow very wet. They looked down and instantly froze as their breath hitched their throats upon seeing the grass and dirt that lay beneath Spike beginning to grow saturated and bearing a reddish tint from the increasing amount of blood that was slowly seeping out of Spike’s mangled body. They wanted to move out to it, but couldn't bring themselves to do that as that would mean leaving their little lover to suffer alone. The pool of red only grew wider and wider as each agonizing second passed.

Spike felt a drop of water hit his forehead as sniffles and whimpers began to replace the harsh ringing inside his ears. He reopened his eyes just a crack and saw the girls he loved more than anything looking down at him, not a single eye was dry on the six ponies as they looked down on their sweetheart. Spike wanted nothing more than to get up and wrap them in a hug, but his injuries were preventing even the slightest movements. It was nothing short of a miracle that he was still alive, but Spike knew it wouldn’t be that way for long.

“Girls,” Spike croaked before coughing up thick, dark, red blood.

Twilight and the others almost lost composure when they heard how terrible their other half spoke. in addition to how he looked. They all knelt down beside his body as Spike grew weaker.

“We're here, honey. You're going to be okay now,” Twilight managed to say between cries. "We all love you, Spike. Please, you're not in any more danger. Don't quit now."

Spike felt sorry listening to Twilight's optimism. He knew that no matter how much she hoped or tried, she couldn't make him better.

“If only that were the case. It looks like this is the end of the line for me,” Spike wheezed, sounding even worse than before. “I had a good run with you girls. Thanks for helping me experience love at such a young age.”

Twilight felt her whole world crumbling around her. Her best friend that had been with her since the beginning and who had managed to capture not just her heart, but the heart of eleven other girls, was on the ground, moribund and accepting his fate. Her friends, as much as they hated to do so, realized that this was the end of their Spike that had saved them all from certain death and Equestria from certain defeat. They all cried silently at the fact. Twilight, however, didn't seem to be on the same boat as they were.

“Spike, don't talk like that! You're going to be fine! Please just stay awake and hang on! Don’t go,” Twilight pleaded as she finally broke down in a fit of sobs. “I can’t lose you, please! You can't die! Not this young!"

The other five element bearers could only watch through their tears as Twilight repeatedly begged for Spike to stay awake, before she turned her attention towards the sky as if to beseech anyone up that was up there to keep Spike alive.

"Please, Celestia. Don't take him. He's just 16! I'm begging you! Please let him live through this!!” Twilight cried looking up at the sky with fresh tears still in her eyes.

Seeing Twilight, as well as her friends, like this made Spike feel worse than all his injuries combined. He knew he had one shot to hopefully provide them with some type of consolation to ease their grief about his passing.

“Twilight, there's nothing you can do. We both know I won't make it, but it's okay. I don't care about my safety,” Spike rasped as he coughed up more blood. “As long as I know that Equestria is safe, more importantly, as long I know that you’re all safe, there's nothing more I'd want to know in my last moments than that. Listen, please don't be angry at Discord for this. He never intended this to happen.”

Spike felt his vision start to go blurry. He knew he had a few seconds left to croak out one last thing to them all.

“Listen,” the dying dragon choked out. “Please, promise me one last thing before I go.”

“What is it?” Rarity asked through her tears.

Spike found it harder and harder to speak as the last few seconds of his short life passed. It was becoming more of a challenge to even breathe, he felt a numbing sensation starting to move up his body, and fatigue was starting to slowly overwhelm the tiny being.

" Please make sure Smolder...*gasp*...the Crusaders...*cough*...Starlight...*cough*...and Gabby...*gasp*...know that...*wheeze*...I love them,” Spike wheezed out, his message barely audible to the ponies around him.

No sooner did he say his last word, then did the numbness finally spread all the way up his body. His eyes slowly fluttered shut as his last breath left his nose. He did it, he had saved Equestria and his lovers and friends were out of harm’s way. He was now at peace as the last of his senses faded away. According to Spike, he couldn’t have asked for it to turn out a better way. He was disappointed that he could no longer have a future with his harem, but, at the same time, was happy that they were safe.

The Element Bearers, however, didn’t seem to share Spike optimism. They all began to bawl uncontrollably as their drakefriend finally passed on.

During the memory, all of Spike's friends and lovers (except Raven) couldn't help but shed tears while watching.

Everyone was affected in different ways. The Mane 6 had to relive Spike's final moments which despite the young Drake being there with them now. It still hurts seeing how they lost him all over again. As for the rest of Spike's harem, (except Raven) who wasn't there in Spike's final moments felt just a bit worse. Yes, they were told by the Mane 6, how Spike loved them, but seeing it, hit them real hard.

But not as bad as it did for Discord.

It was bad enough seeing Spike's corpse the day he died but seeing how Spike died, made the heavy guilt he had once shouldered return with a vengeance. He was angry at himself for even coming up with that plan in the first place, let alone going through with it. His only saving grace keeping him from falling into another pit of despair, was hearing firsthand how Spike forgave him in the end and that was enough keep him up.

With no need to show the rest. Raven stopped the memory when Spike died and made the screen disappear. The mood in the room was somber as everyone was crying even Spike, who felt awful for having to leave his loved one behind like that.

The only ones who didn't shed a single tear was Raven, Tirek, and of course-

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

-Chrysalis. The ex-queen was laughing hysterically. Hugging herself, while kicking wildly with her hind legs. She was laughing so hard; tears fell from her eyes. At the time, she was Kò'd after the bell exploded. So, she only heard how Spike died from his friends, but seeing it in action. How could she not laugh at that. It was just too damn funny and so Chrysalis laugh and laugh and laugh.

The group of friends glared angrily and at the ex-queen, even Spike couldn't hold back how mad he is, as he hovered there besides the laughing changeling.

By this point, no one is surprised to see Chrysalis showing off just how heartless she is. Treating the sad tragedy of Spike's death as if it was a comedy. A dark comedy, but a comedy no less.

Seeing Chrysalis laughing at what was the saddest moment of her life filled Smolder with pure absolute rage. She was going give that bug a piece of her mind...... Again. But before she could utter a single word. Somebody else beat her to it.

"JUST WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE LAUGHING AT?"

Everyone was taken aback by Starlight's sudden outburst, though they weren't all that surprise.

While wiping the tears from her eyes, Chrysalis stops laughing, so she can speak. "What the hell do you think I'm laughing at?" She retorted. "You fools only told me how he died, and nothing more, and even though that was funny in its own right, seeing it along with all the extra bits was downright fucking hilarious." Chrysalis laugh a little more before continuing. "I mean seriously, who could not laugh at that pathetic excuse of heroics." Turns her attention towards her defense attorney. "You were right, Raven. This idiot sacrifice was absolutely meaningless."

Tirek shook his head. "Pointless!"

Raven shrugs. "I prefer unnecessary, but it's all the same either way." She said nonchalantly.

Now Starlight was even more piss off. As she walked over to stand before Raven. "Just what the hell is your problem, Inkwell?"

Raven raised a questionable eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, why are you going against Spike like this. I thought you loved him, just like the rest of us in his herd. Yet here you are siding with his KILLERS, and you don't even look at all bothered after watching his death or hearing that evil bitch make fun of it. Not only that but you're actually agreeing with those two about Spike's sacrifice being pointless?"

"Unnecessary!"

"I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK, HOW YOU WANT TO WORD IT! My point is that you are nothing but a traitor to Spike."

That hit a mark. "A traitor!?" Raven questioned. "I'm no traitor, I'm the only one here trying to take down the monster who started this mess."

"DISCORD IS NOT A MONSTER!" Yelled Fluttershy. "Yes, he did what he did, there's no excusing that. But he'd been working hard to make up for it! I proved that to you back at the meeting, when I showed you the blueprints to the Spike Museum, that he himself drew up."

"I SOONER USE THOSE BLUEPRINTS TO WIPE MY OWN ASS, BEFORE GIVING THEM TO A CONSTRUCTION WORKER." Raven bellowed. "The very idea of building a museum dedicated to someone who unnecessarily sacrifice their own life is nothing but an absolute mockery to everyone who goes there to learn about their supposed savior."

"That's not true!" Said Fluttershy

Chrysalis chuckled. "Oh, but it is! Remember what my attorney said about how incompetent you all are at dealing with situations that requires a little more thought than just taking it at face value?"

Tirek spoke. "And to never take something you see or hear out of context and gather all the facts before assuming anything."

Chrysalis continues. "Not to mention that you all have a long history of being incredibly dense. Always making the same mistake, over and over again, by not analyzing a situation thoroughly, you just instead go in via tunnel vision. Never broadening your horizons and check every possible solution and figure out exactly which out of the multiple different paths is the right one...... Ever heard of the phrase Let's talk about the elephant in the room? Well you idiots would always flat out ignore that animal entirely. There could be one in this very room right now and you wouldn't notice it and that's your problem. You don't bother to try and notice these things, you don't bother to ask questions, you don't bother to actually use those things you call a brain, when it really counts."

Raven speaks. "To be fair, you each do have your moments here and there. But they are few and far between. Like how Twilight used great detective skills, to figure out who took bites out of MMMM!"

Tirek continues. "But couldn't even tell that the dragon, she knew since his birth was the one sending her and her friends those letters and gifts. He was literally wearing the worse disguise ever that doesn't even try to hide his key features and you want me to believe that someone who lived with him, her whole life, along with those who knew him for a good chunk of theirs, COULDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE HIM AT ALL! Just how much of your brain cells did you have to shut down for that to even work?"

"Apparently a lot." Said Raven. "Even the citizens of Ponyville guess that it was Spike when I showed them the picture of him in that disguise of his, hell, Luna knew that it was him when I showed her, and she clearly met Spike the least out of all of you."

"ALL RIGHT, FINE!" Rainbow yelled. "You proved your fucking point. I can't deny that we somehow didn't know that Spike was our secret admirer when clues were so obvious. I can't deny that Rarity, Fluttershy, and I should've been patient instead of deciding to sneak a bite of that cake." Rainbow shakes her head. "I can't deny that we no doubt made many of the same kind of mistakes throughout the years, but hey nobody perfect. We even sang a song once admitting that we're not flawless." Rainbow glares at, Raven. "But despite all that, there's absolutely no way that you can prove that Spike's death wasn't anything else but a straight up murder."

"She's right!" Said Smolder. "We all saw what happened thanks to you and it was clear as day that the trio killed Spike..... You keep saying that his death wasn't a murder, so if it isn't, then what was it exactly?"

"Suicide!" Raven said nonchalantly.

Everyone in the group, jaws dropped after hearing Raven's answer. The room was silent at first, until Chrysalis started laughing again. She stop the second everyone yelled.

"SUICIDE!!!"

"You're trying to say, that Spike committed fucking, SUICIDE?" Said Smolder.

"Basically, yes!" Said Raven, as she adjusted her glasses. "As we keep trying to tell you all his death wasn't a murder."

"And it sure wasn't a heroic sacrifice, neither!" Tirek added.

"So, that leaves only one conclusion." Chrysalis points at Spike. "This damn idiot killed himself and to make it even better, he did it for no good reason." Chrysalis once again started laughing hysterically, as Spike just hovered there with a blank expression, trying to process what he just heard. Both his thought process and Chrysalis laughing were interrupted by large *BANG* on the glass window and along with Smolder screaming-

"I'm so sick of hearing you, shit talk my drake," Smolder turns her attention towards Raven. "And you," she pointed. "You're far worse than her. How can someone who claims they love, Spike, talk just as much shit about him and his friends as this evil bitch. "

Raven sighed. "Well excuse me, but I thought honesty was a big part of the magic of friendship."

"HONESTY! You call talking down on us at every giving turn, honesty?"

"Yes! You all are just plain ignorant and dense, and you have proven it time and time again. You're far too trusting, which is why you all can be easily fooled by others, even when they pulled these tricks on you before."

Fluttershy speaks. "You're talking about all the times, Discord trick us before, aren't you? Though that may be true, he learned his lesson after what happened to, Spike."

"I wasn't talking about, Discord!" Raven thought. "Rather he did, or he didn't. It doesn't change the fact you guys haven't learned your lesson at all and it's high time you fools get another crash course in both truth and reality, and what better way to do that, than for her to prove to you why Spike's Sacrifice, was completely unnecessary."

Everyone in the room looked at Raven confusingly, including Chrysalis.

"The hell do you mean by her?" Smolder asked.

"She's referring to me!"

Everyone turned their attention to where the voice was coming from.

Standing right there in the doorway of the main room was an earth pony mare with a light-dull purple colored coat, blonde mane, and wearing dark purple glasses.

"Who are you and what business do you have here?" Luna asked.

The mare adjusted her glasses.

"Grace Manewitz, your highness and I'm here to aid my sister in defending our clients, Tirek and Chrysalis, as well to make sure that Discord actually pays for his crimes."

To be continued.
