Chapter 6: Rebuilding The Clubhouse

Previous Chapter
Rebuilding The Clubhouse

From far away, Professor Von Drake heard the explosion and started rushing to see what had happened. When he arrived, he was floored by what he saw. Only one-third of the red hemisphere, the front door, and parts of the roof were what was left of the clubhouse's above-ground portion. The underground portion had only sustained minor damage.

"What has happened here?", he asked with a terrified look in his eyes.

Mickey filled him in on everything as Brandon prepared a device to stop the thunderstorm. Once the storm had been neutralized, Brandon explained why his device worked.

"This was not a storm that started naturally. Our past enemy had created an aerial bomb that could induce severe weather when detonated. Luckily, we figured out how to counteract it."

Von Drake was shocked by what Brandon had just said. Some of Brandon's crew mates and allies were comforting Mickey's friends who were still in tears. Colin had used healing energy to instantly treat Millie's arm and Melody's leg.

"Worst birthday ever.", choked out Millie and Melody as Minnie gave them a hug.

Feeling sorry for the loss, Link started drawing up plans to rebuild the clubhouse. Mickey and his friends joined to help him once they had let out all of their sadness. The clubhouse would be rebuilt identical to how it was built originally, except there would be defense equipment added and the clubhouse would be fireproofed. Von Drake supplied blueprints and pieces with which to rebuild the "Mousekedoer".

Construction began the following week and progressed for many days and nights through rain and sunshine. As the "Mousekedoer" was being rebuilt, Brandon had an idea. He talked with Professor Von Drake and devised a way to rebuild the machine with pieces that had no risk factor of becoming unstable when exposed to heat. The alterations were successful and had no negative results during testing. Once the clubhouse was finished and the defenses were installed and calibrated, Brandon and his crew led the six friends through hard training to ensure that they knew how to properly operate the equipment. After they were certain that the training was successful, Brandon and his crew went back to the Lemurian Star. They returned in cargo helicopters carrying the furnishings from the clubhouse. In only two hours the furnishings were put back where they were to begin with, along with Minnie's flowers being replanted outside. When Minnie saw that her flowers were among everything that had been saved, she let out tears of joy.

Later on, Brandon shared a surprise design with Mickey and his friends. He was planning to build them a set of five starships that could combine into one larger ship. Everybody agreed and the ships were completed swiftly. Then it was time for each ship to be customized to each friend's liking. After testing to make sure the ships attached together correctly, hangars were constructed for each one and the Christians prepared to leave. The portal that the fleet used to reach the clubhouse was stabilized with a frame so that it would not emit the radiation that masked it as a star anymore. Mickey and his friends said goodbye and the Lemurian Star and the Harmony took off and returned to their dimension.
