When Rainbow Dash caused the first Sonic Rainboom, the result didn't just hatch Spike's Egg, but also another. While coming back from finding the gems in the rock that caused Rarity to gain her cutie mark, the white unicorn came across a freshly hatched baby orange dragon. Taking home the dragon as well as the egg it hatched from, the dragon is adopted into Rarity's family and given the name "Smolder".

Years later, Smolder adjusts to being in Ponyville with her adoptive sister Rarity when one day, a purple unicorn and a purple dragon show up; the later of whom gaining an instant crush on Smolder. Before Smolder can begin to return the dragon's feelings, her adoptive sister and the purple unicorn go with some other ponyville locals to stop the threat of Nightmare Moon.

This is an alternate universe that is a "What If" scenario I have been wanting to do for a long time now, and the main reason why I wanted to make it seem like I had no time to do a proper "Smolder x Spike" romance story as one has been in the works since three months ago. Yeah, this story has been in the works for that long. Just a heads up that this story won't use the same Season format as my other Alternate MLP Universe stories as this story is meant to focus more on Spike and Smolder being a couple since their younger years. So not every event from the main show will be featured here. But there will be times when the duo will cause certain events to happen differently so be ready for all of that. I also won't update this as regularly as some of my other stories, probably only once or twice a month until I finish all the collabs I have planned for this year.

Since this story will be going up shortly AFTER my new policy goes into effect, ratings are disabled for the time being. But when the rating ability is enabled, I would prefer it people read this story before rating it and before leaving any comments what-so-ever.
