Nightmare Night used to be about offering candy to Nightmare Moon so she wouldn't eat you. Even though Nightmare Moon is long gone, superstitions have taken root. In Bridlewood, the night is a night that you don't want to be out on.

Izzy and her mutual acquaintance Violet Mist seem to spend the night in quiet reflection. A while ago, there was a terrifying incident just on the outskirts of the woods. Every Nightmare Night is a step forward to closure.

Spoilerish: I'm going into uncharted territory here. This isn't the usual kind of story I write, but I wanted to write something for Nightmare Night and the idea I had stretched me a little out of my comfort zone. Sometimes the characters seem a bit different to usual, and this probably isn't what happened, so I'm going to slap an AU tag on to be safe.
