Reading this post taught me that adding a self-insert ponysona can bring a new twist to an old episode. So I decided to do just that.

This is a rewrite of season 3 startup where the Mane6 battle King Sombra in the Crystal Empire. During this episode, Twilight is still a Unicorn, so having a prince Alicorn appear turns out to be very helpful.
