Chapter 2: No Fear

Previous Chapter
No Fear

I fumbled with the keys, trying to find the correct one to open the truck. It wasn't a 'pretty' truck. It was white, rusty, and had terrible mileage; but it got me from point A to point B, and that was all I asked..

After several minutes of fumbling with the mess of keys I mad managed to open the door. The interior was just as bad as the exterior. Ripped up, unconformable brown leather, exposing the foam inside; a slightly lighter brown covering the walls. And worst of all, there were many wires under the dashboard, I may be a computer geek, but I know nothing of cars. These wires seem to lead nowhere but for my own safety, I let them be, only touching the ones needed for the recently installed radio; the only thing worth stealing from this car.

After the seamlessly effortless start of the car, I popped the CD into the radio and hit play.

“What is this place, filled with so many wonders...”

I know it was weird but this was my favorite CD, filled with all of the tracks from the show. I never left home without it. Though, I always kept the volume down. You wouldn't believe the looks on peoples faces when your listening to music intended for an 8 year old girl.

I was startled by the sudden red and blue lights as I whizzed passed the other cars. I already had quite the driving record for a man of 20. I was a good driver, yes, but I loved the rush of speeding down the road as fast as humanly possible. I wasn't getting caught today. As soon as the lights had started to come closer and closer to the rear of my car, I panicked. I took a sharp turn left, taking several fliers with me. The back of the truck swerved on the slightly icy road, I started to lose control and again, panicked. I jerked the steering wheel left and right, a futile attempt at correcting the car. And, at that very moment, I turned up the radio. Pinkie Pie's No Fear song was playing. I let go of the wheel, a put my head back, took a deep breath, and then, nothing. I couldn't feel a thing, I couldn't see, but I could hear the noises of the outside world face away.

As the last of my consciousness slipped away, I though to myself,  “No Fear... Thank you Pinkie.”
