Equestria is a land of friendship, a land of love. It is a free and just nation, an absolute monarchy that is built on kindness, loyalty, honesty, generosity, laughter and magic. But even the most beautiful flower will wilt in the darkness.

The dark age, a time of major corruption and injustice in the secondary government. A power hungry and tyrannical party leader assumed control and Equestria was cast into a time of disarray and suffering. Villages were pillaged, mass starvation took hold and border wars broke out across the land.

Happiness has died in all the pain and despair, but even on the most withered tree can a fresh branch sprout and bear fruit. Even though those in power may try to deny it, the facts still stand. Change can always happen and hope will never die.
