Basically, you start a Pokémon adventure however you also get to use MLP characters as Pokémon
Today is the day where you start your Ponymon adventure. You get to catch Ponymon, battle trainers, and more. Your goal is to have the best team and become the Ponymon champion.
Chapter 1: The Adventure Begins
Today is finally here. The day where I get my first Ponymon. I quickly rush downstairs heading to the professor’s lab.
“Hey Michael!” My best friend Jake greeted me as I exited my house. “I can’t wait to get our first Ponymon! It’s been our dream since we were kids!”
“I know, right?!”
“Anyway, I was headed to the lab. You wanna join?”
“Wanna join?! Of course I do!”
Me and Jake quickly ran to the lab and entered. Once we were in, we were greeted by the professor, Professor Cypress.
“Ah, You two must be Michael and Jake.”
“Yes we are.” we responded.
“I’m guessing you two are here to get your first Ponymon.”
“That’s right!” I said excitedly
“Well before I give your first Ponymon, here are the things you need to know about them. Ponymon are our friends, and we grow alongside them. They grow, and in some cases, evolve and change form, as we battle with them. They’ll grow to love you as you adventure with them.”
“Really?! That’s awesome!” Jake said excitedly.
“Yes, and there’s still lots we don’t know. Anyways, with that out of the way, you two can now choose your own Ponymon. The first choice is Apple Bloom, the Grass-type Ponymon, Scootaloo, the Flying-type Ponymon, or Sweetie Belle, the Fairy-type Ponymon.”
Jake looked at the adorable little fillies. “Aww so cute!! But it's so hard to choose.”
“I think I’ll go with Scootaloo.”
“Excellent choice Michael. Now how about you Jake?”
“Oh gosh I’m not sure.”
Jake debated between Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle for a while.
“Okay, my mind’s made up. I choose Sweetie Belle!”
“Alright, well that’s settled. And another thing before you go.”
Professor Cypress handed me and Jake an electronic device with a red case.
“It’s a Ponydex. It’s an electronic encyclopedia that records the kinds of Ponymon you encounter and capture. It’ll also help me in my research with Ponymon. Now what are you two waiting for? Go explore the world of Ponymon!”
As I was about to exit the lab, Jake quickly stopped me from leaving.
“Michael, wait up!” Jake ran up and stopped me as I was headed to the door. “We have Ponymon now! Let’s battle!”
A battle had commenced between me and Jake. He sent out his Sweetie Belle while I sent out Scootaloo. Scootaloo went for Tackle while Sweetie Belle went for Tail Whip, lowering Scootaloo’s defense. After two more Tail Whips, Sweetie Belle used Tackle of her own doing massive damage. Scootaloo struck back with her own Tackle, getting a crit. Next turn, Scootaloo had taken down Sweetie Belle.
“Sweetie Belle, return.” Jake returned the fainted unicorn back into her Pony Ball. “You fought well, you deserve a long rest. Dang Michael, that was a great battle.”
“It sure was,” I replied.
“Hold on. I’ll heal our Ponymon.” Jake gave Scootaloo a potion and his Sweetie Belle a revive. “Oh, I have something for you. They’re for catching wild Pony Mon.”
Jake handed me five Pony Balls.
“Wow! Thanks Jake!”
“No problem. It works best if you weaken the Ponymon before throwing a Pony Ball at it. You should start training your Ponymon on Route 1! Past Route 1 is Chesma Town. That’ll be a good place for us to meet up. See ya there!”
Jake quickly headed out of the lab. I followed behind, ready to start my Ponymon adventure.
Chapter 2: Team Who?
As I headed to Chesma Town, I caught a new Ponymon, Angel Bunny and battled trainers. Suddenly, a weird looking girl looked at me and quickly ran into the forest.
“What the heck?”
“Hey, there you are Michael.”
I saw Jake run up to me.
“Who was that person that just took off running?”
“I’m not sure, but she did look kinda suspicious.”
“Yeah. We should go after her, probably has something off her sleeve. I saw her running into the woods. Follow me and I’ll lead you there.”
Jake and I ran into the Gale Forest.
“She’s in here somewhere. I'll wait right here so she doesn’t get away. You go look for her and find out what’s going on.”
Jake was on the lookout while I scouted the forest. After battling some trainers, I found her just standing in a corner.
“Hey you!” I called out. “Why’d you look at me weirdly and run all the way out here?!”
“Looks like you finally caught on,” said the girl.
I was confused.
“I’m a member of Team Tartarus. We steal any Ponymon any time, any day. And now that you’ve encountered me, you have to battle me, under two conditions. If you win, you get to keep your Ponymon. But if you don’t, I take whatever Ponymon you have.”
Obviously I wasn’t going to let that happen so I accepted the risky challenge. She sent out Rumble while I sent out Angel Bunny. Angel could only attack Rumble with Tackle though it was tough since it kept lowering Angel’s attack with Growls and attacked with strong Gusts but other than that, Angel took out Rumble easily.
Her final Ponymon, er, Pokémon was Pancham. Angel had the type disadvantage so I swapped him out for Scootaloo. Pancham could only attack Scootaloo with resisted Arm Thrusts and neutral Tackles so after a few Gusts from Scootaloo, I won the battle.
“What? How could this happen?! This isn’t good. The boss is going to be so mad at me. Don’t think this is over yet. Team Tartarus is still on the run and will be back for more!”
The Tartarus member had run off to somewhere unknown. Suddenly, Jake ran up to me after the girl took off.
“Wow! Great job of taking care of that girl Michael!”
“Thanks Jake. About that girl. Do you think the professor knows anything about that girl?”
“I’m not sure, but this Team Tartarus seems like you’ll need a strong team to beat them, knowing that they steal Ponymon of all kinds. A great way to strengthen your Ponymon is to challenge the gym leaders in Equestria. There are eight gym leaders in Equestria. Speaking of which, there’s a gym next town over. I suggest we start there.”
“I see. Thanks Jake.”
“No problem. See you there.”
Jake had run off to the first gym. Before battling the gym, I wanted to train up my Ponymon first, and I just did that.
