Rainbow Dash: The Fallen

"Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Spike, Derpy.-" The list went on, Rainbow Dash sat in her dark cloud castle hiding from the traitors attacking Ponyville, again. Rainbow Dash had written the names down of all her pony friends who had fallen to the traitors, the ponies, or turned ponies down on the ground were dedicated followers of the returned god, Discord, he had escaped from his mental prison about a month after the Changling attack and had been gathering allies for his revenge since, now the twisted, dark ponies were roaming through Equestria freely, nopony with the strength to destroy the horde. Somehow Discord had gathered hundreds of Celestia hating ponies and then twisted their looks and minds. Rainbow Dash and her friends had once tried to fight Discord's army, it was then that the first had died.

"Girls, you all know of Discord's return and his army of, ponies. Almost ponies, are on the march,Celestia has sent down a group of warrior Pegasi to deal with them and has asked us to help, from our experience with the Changlings. Fluttershy, as you are experienced with calm, quiet animals, go into town and get as many ponies out of there as possible. If we fail it's up to you to get those ponies out. Go Fluttershy!" Twilight ordered "Rest of you, lets go, this is for Equestria!" The rest of the group had moved of to the border between Ponyville and Canterlot lands, where there was a big expanse of land. The Canterlot defenders were all holding spears in their saddles so were fairly armed. Some Pegasi had crossbows ready and the Rainbow Dash and the rest were given Canterlotian armour and also some weapons. Rainbow Dash flow up with the other Pegasi and readied the crossbow, before realizing she had no idea how to use one. Rainbow watched the other pony archers and just more or less copied them.

"Twilight! Get Shinig Armor's sheild up! Use it to cover anypony in case these corrupt ponies have crossbows as well!" Rarity shouted, no really needing to. Rainbow Dash saw a purple orb flare up around the ground troops, there were some cheers, then the enemy were in sight.

Rainbow Dash began to sob in her cloud fortress and curled into a ball as she remembered her friends. That was all Twilight had asked. For Rainbow to keep remembering the fallen. Rainbow's leg had a great scar on it that still hurt. Rainbow Dash felt the tears flow down her face and looked into the mirror that now lay fallen on the floor, it had come of the wall the third time Discord had bombarded Ponyville with explosive magic. There was a crack down the middle but Rainbow Dash saw herself clearly. Her eyes were red and wet, her whole face had tear marks and cuts on it. Rainbow, as well as the cut had also sprained her leg and was limping around badly. But to limp Rainbow Dash had to get up of the cloud floor. Which she had no strength to do. She hasn't eaten much since her friends deaths and was never hungry, she was a smart Pegasus, well, average smart, and knew she had to eat and drink, just couldn't find the strength in her anymore. Her closest friends, and more had died whilst Rainbow Dash had lived. Fate is cruel. Rainbow Dash decided to remember the good times. When they met and defeated Nightmare Moon, when they all learnt to be Elements of Harmony, when they went to the Grand Galloping Gala, when they had picnics and parties, when they kicked the dragon out of Equestria. All of that and more, Rainbow's memories went on for a long time before she began to sob again.

"Come on Rainbow, crying. Crying isn't for the best flyer in all of Equestria, toughen up." Rainbow stuttered to herself.

She hated everything about her survival, how she was the only survivor. Canterlot hadn't sent anymore warriors down, apparently one of Discord's allies, the dragons of the east were beginning a seige on Canterlot, or at least that's what Rainbow heard. Rainbow figured she was probably the last 'normal' pony in Ponyville. The rest being the corrupt or dead. Nopony had seen Discord since his escape, well, nopony but his followers. Celestia had sent letters to Rainbow, but they had long since stopped. The last letter Rainbow Dash had received almost a month ago from the princess only said one thing; 'Equestria has fallen, run Rainbow.' Rainbow Dash hadn't ran, no matter what her feelings of running were, she lived in Ponyville, thus there she stayed. If the traitors ever did find her then she would go down fighting, like the rest of her friends had. Rainbow had a saddle-spear ready and had vowed to take down as many of the traitors as possible before she fell.

"Come on Rainbow, remember everything." She said and found herself at the day of the battle again.

The enemy had cascaded over the grassy hill, their presence enogh to actually kill the grennary as they ran. Crossbow bolts flared as did some destructive magic, some of the horde fell, but hundreds were still coming. Rainbow saw for the first time how outnumbered the defenders actually were. Crossbow bolts flared and magical spells of fire and death ehot out from the few unicorns down on the ground. Rainbow Dash shot her own crossbow, before a brown Pegasus with an arrow cutie mark, the bolt replacer, Rainbow presumed, placed another bolt in the mechanism, cocking the string back for Rainbow to shot again, a lot of the traitors fell and the royals and Rainbows friends had now began their own charge, but hundreds of the Discord ponies were still coming. Rainbow looked over to Fluttershy, barely keeping up her wings to fly and her crossbow still loaded from when she was given it, Rainbow Dash watched her yellow friend shiver and let out some urine.

"Fluttershy, come on. There not even ponies anymore." Rainbow called over to the very red faced Fluttershy, her pee had fallen down and landed on one of the unicorn barrage foot soldier, Rainbow would have laughed, if it were on better terms. Fluttershy continued to shiver and squeal a lot. Rainbow Dash turned around and shot her crossbow bolt at the enemy. Killing another.

Rainbow Dash had wrote down how many she had killed on one of the few pieces of parch she had. Eighteen, the cyan/rainbow weather Pegasus had managed to kill eighteen once normal ponies. She hated herself for it, she should have gotten herself and the others out of Ponyville as soon as the invasion was sounded. But she hadn't and was now sitting in the dark, alone. She cried again, not for her friends, for her own stupidity.

"Rainbow Dash. What have I done?" She said aloud. She knew none of it was actually her fault but felt that she could have changed the past some how so that her friends were still alive, even if it meant her own death in return. Loyalty. The last Element of Harmony, all alone, nopony to be loyal to. Pointless existence.

Rainbow Dash cried, the traitor ponies burned and slaughtered. Equestria was dead, long since dead.

Fluttershy: The Evacuation

Eight months earlier.

Fluttershy had flown straight to Ponyville and saw the Mayor had gathered everypony outside the town hall already. Fluttershy ran onto the stage to address the town.

"Now everypony,-" She muttered, shaking all over. "-Twilight has asked me to, evacuate Ponyville-" At the thought of an evacuation everypony panicked, shouting questions and running to their homes to get valuables.

"-If everypony could gather their families and get back here as fast as possible-" Fluttershy had lost the crowd at the evacuate bit, so she knew nopony was listening anymore and even the Mayor was running around screaming. Fluttershy saw she had done all she could and backed away from the stage. Then a strange brown stallion with white hair walked through the crowd, everypony stopped to look at the new figure, completely transfixed. The stallion made it up onto the stage and went over to the front of the stage.

"Ponies!-" He began, everypony was silent now. "-Do not run from Discord! Join him on getting revenge on those who defiled him and betray all of you!" He shouted, the Ponyville ponies began to shout at the traitor. Some were panicking again. Then. "-Ponies, don't be frightened of Discord it is not he who would harm you. Come to me and join his ranks." The figure shouted. Fluttershy was huddled in the corner.

"Come on Fluttershy, your friends will leave you to die." Discord said,he was in her mind, the brown pony was still speaking.

"Join me and you may save your friends from themselves, you are the timid one, shouldn't they follow you?" Discord asked, Fluttershy was on the floor crying, the scene changing, the town hall fell and collapsed, ponies faded away or became bloody and died, Fluttershy saw herself dead on the stage, all of her friends around her, very much alive.

"Look Rainbow, isn't that the yellow one who chose the wrong side?" Twilight Sparkle said, no emotion in her voice.

"Yes Twilight, the yellow one decided to follow Celestia when it is Discord to follow, and she died, nopony cares now." Rainbow Dash replied.

"Darlings, who killed her, we should at least honour her for dying in a fight." Rarity said.

"No, Y'all know what she was like, just leave her here." Applejack replied.

"Who would miss her anyway?" Pinkie Pie asked, Fluttershy was in full tear crying, wailing out as the scene changed back. Fluttershy felt her body lose colour as Fluttershy lost her purpose of living. Then, she didn't change. Fluttershy jumped up and walked over to the brown Pegasus. Fire in her eyes.

"-So my Ponyvillians, I ask you, who wishes to join Discords great reign!" The brown pony finished.

"No!" Fluttershy screamed. "Nopony join him! Discord will destroy us all. Go to your homes, gather precious things and get out of town! Head west to Canterlot and hide. Run ponies!" Fluttershy shouted, the ponies obeyed and ran to their homes. Fluttershy looked left, but the strange Pegasus was gone. Surprisingly, everypony listened, they went to grab their most needed, most wanted things and gathered their families together. Fluttershy watched the ponies rush around and get prepared.

The whole thing took about ten minutes, Fluttershy had stayed and watched, worried as the sounds of battle slowly got closer and louder. Everypony was standing around waiting for Fluttershy to speak.

"Well Fluttershy? Where are we going?" Derpy Hooves asked, standing in the crowd with her baby sister Dinky. The grey Pegasus looked in silence at Fluttershy, as did everypony else.

"Erm.-" Fluttershy started, needing a place that would be safe for a while from Discord. "-Canterlot. I am to take you all to Canterlot." Fluttershy decided, the train had been destroyed somewhere east apparently so the only way to Canterlot was fly. Or in most cases here, walk. Fluttershy gulped at the realism of her plan.

"But that's almost three days walk!" Somepony shouted.

"So we will have to spend three days walking. Any pony with room, get food and water and lets be off." The Mayor replied, Fluttershy and the Mayor knowing that each other knew there was no actual plan. Fluttershy noticed that nopony had listened to her before when she had shouted to head west anyway but she decided to go along with it.

When the ponies of Ponyville were ready, they set off on their march, away from the fighting, to hopeful salvation.

Fluttershy lead the march, away from Ponyville and hopefully away from Discord. Everypony knew that Discord would one day attack Canterlot, and that the pony defenders would fall. Fluttershy cried to herself at that fact, her friends would be dead and Fluttershy would have done nothing to help. Fluttershy hated herself for that and decided on one thing. Her friends were the best she had, they were the most important thing to her. The yellow Pegasus looked at any pony closest to her; Lyra.

"Lyra, take over. Get these, ponies to Canterlot." Fluttershy said, still crying a little.

"Erm, okay. I promise Fluttershy. I will get them safely there." Lyra vowed, Fluttershy nodded, and flow away, back toward Ponyville, back toward her friends.

Princess Luna: The Siege

Five days later.

The princess of the moon, princess Luna, sat at the bedside of her elder sister, Celestia, the sun goddess had attempted to fight Discord mentally on her own and had been gravely wounded and was now. Was now, dying. Straight after Celestia had sent the troops to Ponyville Discord had showed up, apparently the ones down in Ponyville weren't even his full, real army. He had thousands, where he all got them from, no pony knew. But there were thousands of black clad, spear holding, red eyed traitor ponies and some, some that weren't ponies no more, Luna had seen them from outside Shining Armor's shield. Discord had changed them, altered their looks to seem more, more chaotic. Luna began to hate Discord all over again for what the disharmony god had been doing and had done. Luna wasn't stupid though, if Celestia couldn't defeat Discord, then how could Luna, the moon princess still wasn't fully trained into modern magic anyway, there were too many descriptions of the spells as well as a lot more research into magic's like, Interdimensional travel, Destructive Catalysts and the evolution into the mana trails of Equestria since her banishment if Nightmare moon. Who could only, only be defeated by the Elements of Harmony! Luna had it. But nopony would like it.

"Luna. My sister, promise, promise to rule Equestria once I'm gone." Celestia suddenly muttered. Luna was taken aback. She hasn't actually thought that Celestia would probably die, but why would she? Celestria was her sister and mentor. Celestia was meant to be an immortal, to never die, but Luna saw the truth, Discord had really attacked her, Discord wasn't just out for chaotic revenge, he really was trying to destroy all of Equestria and so far, succeeding. Luna realized she hasn't replied and was just staring at Celestia.

" I promise sister." Luna said, almost putting in something like Celestia would be fine and that she would be up and about soon, but both Luna and Celestia knew that the sun goddess would fall. It was getting late and Luna would need to raise the moon in a few hours. Celestia nodded and closed her tired eyes.

"Rest sister. You fought bravely." Luna muttered, Celestia's breathing got shallow and Luna vowed to stay by Celestia until the end. Luna sat beside Celestia's bed and watched her. Then, suddenly.

"Luna. I love you, I always have." Celestia said, eyes still closed, her breathing began to slow.

"I love you too Celestia." Luna replied, but Celestia was gone. Luna's blood boiled, Discord, along with hundreds of others, had now killed Celestia. Luna didn't cry, there was no sadness, only hate. Luna so wanted to kill Discord now. No prisons, no forgiveness, next time Luna saw Discord, he would die. Luna knew that in her current state, she had no chance against Discord. But Nightmare moon, her stronger self had defeated Celestia before and was as immortal as Discord. Luna brought some guards in.

"Yes princess?" The first asked. Luna gestured to Celestia and the two understood, going to get the undertaker. Luna walked through the castle, not many guards here, they were all at the gates. Princess Luna walked out onto the balcony and watched the flames and explosions far of at the gates, Luna then went inside her mind. Searching. Then, she felt her body change, she had freed Nightmare moon and only had one thought, Discord. The dark princess screamed in hatred and spread her wings out as far as they would go.

"Discord!" She shouted and flow towards his armies. "Every one of them will die!" Nightmare hissed, Luna watched in her mind as Nightmare flow, where once Luna would have fought Nightmare moon every second of the way, now Luna welcomed her evil form and actually gave some of her pure magic to Nightmare moon to become stronger. Nightmare was still screaming and flow as fast as possible, heading straight to the battlefield. Nightmare moon shot upwards to the sky, above Discord's army. Nightmare continued to fly, wings flapping about and her black horn glowing her black and Luna's purple magic.

Then, when Nightmare moon was at a suitable height, she descended down, horn first toward the centre of the enemy army. Both Nightmare moon and Luna screamed, the moon came up suddenly and the darkness fueled more of the sparking energy. Magic was shooting from Nightmare's horn as it continued to gather. Light sparkled from the horn and Nightmare sped toward the ground. Then, she hit the ground. The dark blue explosion shot out across the besieged bridge, knocking back hundreds of traitors and mutants. Nightmare moon barely felt the impact as she cracked into the concrete and set off a great explosion of death and fire. Nightmare moon stood up, pushing the rubble off her body with her magic. The enemy were regrouping in front of Nightmare and she prepared to charge. She let her horn glow with magic as she prepared a spell. Some of the enemy were dead or had been blasted straight of the bridge. Luna watched Nightmare stamp the ground with her hoof and bend her head down, horn first. Then, she charged.

Rainbow Dash: The Defeat

Three days earlier

Rainbow Dash continued to shot bolts at the enemy below, hundreds on each side lay dead but the battle was still fresh, a couple hundred more Canterlotians came down as fresh troops and began to begin another assault on the enemy forces. No pony had spotted Discord yet so Rainbow presumed he was just watching from his chaos realm. Laying invisible to any pony but maybe his forces. Being spawns of chaos anyway.

Rainbow Dash spotted her friends in the mist of the fight, Rarity, Twilight, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Twilight Sparkle was constantly shooting fire into the enemy and Rarity was holding a shield a Canterlotian had taught her quickly before the battle above the group so that they weren't shot by any stray enemy bolt. Applejack was covered in blood, both her own and the enemies, her spear tip was covered in gore and blood. Pinkie had somehow managed to get her spear bloody from the fight, but was otherwise clean of mess. Rainbow Dash wondered how but then dropped it and went back to the battle.

Rainbow Dash thought the battle was going well until a fresh batch of mutant, things came over the hill, slaughtering both Canterlotians and the enemy.Rainbow Dash aimed her crossbow, which she had gotten better with. She had spotted a fairly big, red bull mutant and had aimed a bolt in its general direction. After some pause she fired.

Present day

Rainbow Dash hadn't moved from the spot in her cloud fortress, the layer of cloud was soggy and wet from tears. Her spectrum hair was miss shaped and out of place. Her leg was uncomfortable and her only movement from the past three hours was to move the leg. She shuddered a little as the blood flow returned. Rainbow Dash heard some explosions ring down below and she cuddled up into a tiny ball, front legs holding her hind legs and wings covering up as much as she could hide. Her feathers became wet from tears and she shock the cyan wings a little before curling up again. A dragon roared from somewhere and Rainbow Dash prayed the enemy hadn't found her. She prayed to anything she would live. But at what price? She wondered. It would be getting dark soon, considering everything, Celestia and Luna had kept the sun and moon cycle going pretty well. Rainbow moved a little closer to the window to look out. Below she saw fires and shots of magic or arrows in little skirmishes from any pony survivors. Most of Ponyville had gone to Canterlot and Rainbow just hoped they were safe. Tears welded up again at the thought of Fluttershy, she had no idea where she was, or even if she was still alive. Or been turned into some cruel mutant by Discord's power. Everyday his armies got bigger and the god got stronger, there were only pockets of survivors left. Not enogh to even get close to Discord.

Rainbow Dash's stomach growled, she needed more food, soon. Maybe tomorrow she would go down to the apple farm and steal some. The main worry being spotted by guards in the nearby slave camp. She had watched the camp one day a while ago, Discord's troops were bringing in some unicorns from the east somewhere and the unicorns went in one room, came out bloody, crying and horn sawn off. The same happened to some Pegasi, about one hundred went in, about twenty, wingless ones came out. Rainbow had seen enogh by about the tenth minute and ran to hate Discord even more.

A dragon roared some where in the distance and Rainbow Dash shuddered. She prayed it wouldn't notice her or her cloud. But her prayers were unanswered. The sound of flapping wings was heard above and the dragon roared again. Rainbow hoped it wasn't alerting anything, and only began to breathe once it flow away and roared a third time. It was going to get dark soon and Rainbow decided to remember some more of the last days of Equestria before bed. She wouldn't sleep, she never did.

During the last battle of Equestria.

Rainbow Dash sped down, now spear ready, the reloaded had been killed by a bolt just as Rainbow took down the huge monster thing. It was either wait as a target or fight. So Rainbow throw of her crossbow and went down to get another weapon. Rainbow spotted the other ponies in the mist of the fighting and was about to rush in.

"Rainbow Dash!" A voice shouted from above. Rainbow turned to see her yellow Pegasus friend, Fluttershy flying down.

"Fluttershy? What are you doing?" Rainbow Dash asked, confused.

"I couldn't leave my friends." Fluttershy replied, bravely ignoring the bolt as it shot across her head. Fluttershy gave a determined nod and went to arm herself, giving a squeak of fear when she thought Rainbow Dash wasn't listening. Some other archers had decided to fight to and came down to the camp, arming themselves. Fluttershy made herself ready and Rainbow and Fluttershy stood next to each other. A few other Pegasi joined the line, aiming their spears down. Rainbow looked to Fluttershy, who nodded again, then Rainbow Dash looked to the grey stallion next to her. He also nodded.

"CHARGE!!" Rainbow Dash shouted, galloping forwards, surprisingly, everypony followed her and clashed in arms with the mutant/traitors. Rainbow Dash, not looking for Fluttershy, just hoping she was there, charged forward through both friendly and enemy ranks toward her pinned friends. A roar was heard and a dragon flow down to where Rainbow had last seen Twilight and the rest. Two beams of magic, purple and white, shot up from the ground and into the dragon. Which after some time, died and crashed down onto the ground. Rainbow galloped and could just see all her friends still alive, bloody, but alive. Bolts shot past Rainbow both sides from some unknown archer, the fighting was too dense. Rainbow lost view on her friends. Fluttershy squealed loudly, when the view of Rainbows friends came back. A huge giant mutant stood over their bloodied remains.

Nightmare Moon: The Battle on the Bridge

Nightmare Moon shot across the bridge, stabbing her horn into any and every enemy she could reach. Both Luna and herself vowed to destroy everything on this bridge, then, everything walking under Discord's banner. Nightmare moon, aided by Princess Luna would destroy Discord herself and free the land of his reign. A young black pony holding a long pike stood in Nightmare's way and she stabbed her horn into him and shook the body off her head without even breaking a stride.

Luna gave more of her magic to Nightmare as the princess watched the anarchy with glee. Before Luna hated the idea of Nightmare even being in her head, but now Luna had frees her darker self and was watching as the princess of the night swept across the bridge, felling enemy after enemy. Nightmare Moon shot some black lightning toward a big bug mutant thing and it exploded into a huge ball of puss and blood on impact.

Nightmare Moon had been killing stuff on the bridge for about twenty or so minutes and hadn't taken a single wound, the enemy were moving back as Nightmare swept through their ranks, but despite their attempts to flee or ignore Nightmare, they fell anyway. A few of the commando guards had began storming the bridge as well but Nightmare had pushed them away. Luna knew they were just trying to help, but Nightmare, and her own rage may have killed the guards by accident. Luna was confused as too why the battle was so easy and why Discord hadn't sent any tougher mutants for Luna and Nightmare to fight. Well, until some huge mutant giant thing climbed up the side of the bridge, taking a piece of the stone away and making a few dozen of its allies to fall to their deaths appeared. Nightmare gave a laugh at the huge monster in front of her and shot a massive purple fireball at the thing. Apart from it falling back a few steps, the thing seemed fine. Nightmare gave a smile, Luna gave her some magic and together they shot the biggest spell of fire and lightning and plasma they could conjure up. The huge ball of sparking magic shot from Nightmare's black horn and hit the giant, making it explode and blow up part of the bridge, sending even more of the enemy falling to a rocky grave.

More giants began storming the bridge and Nightmare moon, and Luna shot lightning toward the enemy, blowing tones up at a time. One got really close to Nightmare moon, but she barrel rolled around it and shot it in the back. A huge boil thing exploded on impact, shooting puss everywhere, the thing fell dead and Nightmare moon charged at the still oncoming enemy. A few dragons flow over and Nightmare began shooting up at them too, burning their wings off so they would die slow or get crushed under their own weight when they crashed into the ground.

Suddenly there was a cruel, deep laugh. It came slow, and neither Nightmare nor Luna knew where it had come from. Nightmare looked around quickly then, he appeared. Everyone of his armies stopped fighting and bowed, many at the gates getting shot down or stabbed, but none did anything to defend themselves. Discord, their leader and God, had arrived.

"Ah, Princess Luna. You're changed." Discord mocked. Luna was continuously feeding Nightmare Moon her magic now, only to stop when she ran out. She had read about a massive spell, used in one of the old wars with the things of Everfree forest. AtomicFire, Luna would use it. No matter the cost.

"Changed for the better Discord!" Nightmare shouted. Trying to stall so Luna could prepare herself.

"What do you mean by that? You cannot defeat me, I am a God. You are just a little pony." Discord replied.

"But why do you do this, we did nothing to you." Nightmare asked.

"You and Celestia imprisoned me in stone. Remember."

"Yes, all too well, but why become God of Chaos, you had everything. Even Celestia." Nightmare's voice became smaller, attempting to sound humble. 'Nearly there.' Luna said. 'Keep it up.'

"She never loved me." Discord replied. "Look at me."

"She loved you Discord, but then you killed her. Broke her heart."

"Well now she knows what I felt."

"She never broke your heart, she always loved you." Discord was silenced. Luna gave the okay and Nightmare began the spell. Putting little magic on her horn in case the God saw what she was doing. He looked to the ground but then laughed.

"But you know what Luna, I like Chaos." Discord said and began to walk towards her. 'Come on!'

"And that is your downfall." Then the spell was complete, Nightmare released the spell, and the world turned white.

Rainbow Dash: The Beginning of the End

Rainbow sat thinking off that dreadful day when she had found her friends dead in the field. After that she had got, crazy. Just screaming and killing anything Rainbow saw. By the time the enemy called for a retreat Rainbow Dash had killed near two hundred of the enemy. She was covered in blood by the end. Both her own and the enemy. Many of the surviving allies came over to her and tried to help and calm Rainbow, but she would just tell them to leave her alone and let her sit by her dead friends. Rainbow prefered to be alone. Just like she was alone now. The dragon roared again but Rainbow ignored it. Feeling nothing anymore. Except hatred and fear.

Later the day of the battle Rainbow had found a shovel left behind and began to dig. Many of the Canterlotians had stayed, setting up defended and sending out scouting parties, none had returned. One of the Pegasus captains said something about the whole area being surrounded and that there is no way in or out of Ponyville. The little morale that was left soon feel after that news, everypony could see the black clouds hanging over the mountains in a huge circle around the town. Dragons could been seen completely covering the skies, fire spread everywhere and even the Everfree seemed, dead. Discord was destroying everything, once a Hydra actually charged into Ponyville from the Everfree covered in blood and soon died, the wounds were from Discordian weaponry. Word even soon came back that not only was Canterlot besieged, but taken too. Rainbow Dash didn't know herself, I mean the sun and moon still circled round right? So Luna and Celestia were still fighting, but Rainbow knew, everypony knew that Discord's army was just too big for anypony to fight, let alone win against. The end of Equestria was here.

It had been two weeks since Rainbow watched her friends die and more and more attacks from Discord's army slowly drained the Canterlotians stationed at Ponyville, the enemy seemed to be using more guerrilla tactics, appearing every now and again with crossbows and other ranged weaponry and taking a few soldiers out at a time, which was weird because with all the enemy surrounding the town they could just charge in at any moment and wipe everypony out. That's what they were doing in the sky, the few ponies that had stayed in Ponyville, and the even fewer Pegasi in that number tried to escape daily and were taken down by arrows, traitor Pegasi or even eaten by the giant dragons claiming the air. The unicorns were constantly looking for a way to defeat Discord, but to no avail. The remaining ponies just stayed in their homes and boarded themselves in, without even thinking of food or water supplies. Many ponies were just killing themselves, a better way out that becoming some mutant of Discord's legions Rainbow guessed. She had thought about death much since the beginning of the war, suicide actually seemed like the best choice at times, but Rainbow was determined to fight on. Yet here she sat, curled up like a little filly crying her eyes out after memories of her friends deaths.

The dragon roared again and its shadow could be seem through the thick could coverage, they certainly knew somepony was in there, it just happened to be Rainbow Dash.

"I could fly, try to start anew somewhere else, I can't be the only free pony left." Rainbow Dash muttered, in truth she hasn't flown since she had retreating up here, but suddenly her need to escape was great. The only problem is that damned dragon.

"I couldn't escape, that dragon would eat me before I got two feet out the door, even if I did manage to escape Discord would definitely send those, things of an army after me." Dash muttered.

"I guess this is it then. I will starve and die alone up here, surrounded by the enemy." She grunted, beginning to cry again. She found herself remembering way back, before the war. When Discord returned.

Everypony stood around the statue of Discord, wearing the Elements of Harmony ready for when Celestia let him free, she had brought the god here to see if Fluttershy could, save him, from evil and use his magic for good. But when Celestia released him, everything went wrong...

"Okay everypony, are you ready? As soon as I release him do not hesitate to use the Elements to stop him if he goes on a rampage." Celestia muttered, horn glowing with magic.

"Do it princess, we are ready." Twilight replied, Celestia closed her eyes as she focused on the spell, cracks began to appear on the statue and evil laughter could be heard within. The stone suddenly exploded in a blinding light, when everypony could see again, Discord was gone.

"Ah it is so good to be back. Did you miss me?" Discord's voice echoed.

"Discord! Show yourself." Celestia ordered.

"Oh so you can turn me to stone again? I don't think so Tia. This is my turn now." Discord grunted, suddenly appearing, he shot Celestia with a bolt of black lightning and she screamed and fell. Discord vanished again.

"Celestia!" Twilight shouted, the two guards who accompanied the princess rushed forward.

"Take her to the castle! She can be healed there!" Rarity shouted, after some pause the ponies nodded and loaded the princess onto the chariot and galloped off.

"Poor poor Celestia, burning away like a tree in a fire just because of some dark magic. Well my little ponies, its your turn now." Discord echoed, laughing. "No, you are the Elements of Harmony, you might actually defeat me before my plan comes into action. I shall let you defend your homes, but eventually you will fall. Twilight, you I shall take first, letting some giant dragon eat you whole. Fluttershy, oh poor dear, so quiet and scared. I shall surround you with my horde and make them kill you, slowly, painfully. Rarity, you shall die face in the mud like everypony else. Pinkie, the party pony. A few cannons to the body should slow you down. Applejack. You poor dear, I am going to kill your family first, burn your farm and watch as you lose everything. And Rainbow Dash, I will leave you last, let you run. But eventually I will find you, and will kill you." Discord's voice said, then, silence.

Discord actually hadn't done any of those things, well yeah AJ did lose her family and home to his army but the god hadn't killed any pony personally, and Rainbow saw how everypony else had died, surrounded by the enemy, together, except her.

Rainbow Dash: The End of a Fall

Rainbow stopped crying, in fact she realized she had stopped a while ago and in fact fallen asleep on the floor again. Her stomach hurt and she noticed finally how hungry she was, the cyan Pegasus got up to search her home for any food it might have. She wondered into every room in hope of a cure to her hunger, nothing. Dash almost wept again at the fact she was out of food and now certain to die up here starving and crying, not like the mare she was, the mare she had been. The dragon roared again, but more distant. Rainbow nodded to herself, it was time to try to escape, ever way, she would be fine. If she got caught, death, something that seemed so, nice right now in the middle of all this. And if she wasn't caught? Food and another week or mourning, not a very good way of life but Dash was sure her friends would want her to live. Rainbow Dash put her saddle on, now ragged and bloody. And opened the door.

Outside, there was nothing. No clouds, no mutants, no dragon. And no Discord. Rainbow looked around in every direction, nothing. Not one speck of anything but her, her cloud home and the ground beneath her. Rainbow spotted the mountain where Canterlot would be, there was nothing there either. A huge gap where much of the mountain, along with the city, was missing.

"Discord must've destroyed the whole area, or moved it to slowly starve out everypony there in some unknown desert." Rainbow muttered. She saw the speck of that dragon flying away, toward the dragon kingdoms. Not toward any sort of battle or Discordian lands. She tilted her head in confusion but soon began to stretched her wings. It would be good to fly once more.

She flapped her feathered wings a few times to make sure they still worked. Then walked of the edge of her home and began to fly to Ponyville.

The ground suddenly, quickly became a, black and red colour, like everything had just, burnt up. Rainbow slowed her pace, everything was gone, no grass trees or houses, where Ponyville would've been, was just a few rows of charred homes and buildings, everything was gone. Rainbow landed outside of the wasteland and cried again, that chaos god had burned everything. She cried for a while, hating more and more.

Suddenly, a voice called out.

"Hey! Pegasus!" Somepony shouted, Rainbow instantly looked up, but was prepared for battle and prepared for death. She looked around to see a. Pony!

The stallion stood on the edge of Ponyville watching Rainbow, he had an eye patch on his right eye and covered in burns and blood, he wore some sort of leather armour and had an axe saddle on. From the looks of it, from under the dirt and blood, he was a blue pony and had shunning green and yellow hair, underneath a small helmet.

"Hey, you!" The pony shouted, Rainbow posed herself ready to attack as the pony began to trot toward her, Rainbow noticed two wings flapping under the saddle and straps. "Wooh. Calm down, I am not going to hurt you." The stallion said, dropping in his tracks. Rainbow relaxed a little but was watching in case more ponies or mutants appeared.

"The name is Eltra. What's your name?" He said. Rainbow Dash paused but gave in to personal hope this wounded warrior was her saviour.

"R-Rainbow Dash." She muttered, sounded a lot like Fluttershy, she let some tears drop at that.

"Cool. Where did you come from?" Eltra asked.

"I have a, a cloud home just south of here." She muttered quietly, her stomach growling at her again.

"So you are just a survivor?" He asked, Rainbow was confused by that but nodded.

"Well I am part of the New Equestrian Order, a task force made to defeat Discord's armies and rebuild Equestria." Eltra said, Rainbow lit up, but didn't show it in case this stallion was false.

"O-Ok." Was all Rainbow could get out.

"You are not much of a talker are you?" Rainbow shock her head.

"Well. Would you like to join us?" Eltra asked.

"There are more of you?" Rainbow asked looking around again.

"Yeah, back at base. I came alone in hope of finding survivors, and I found you. Rainbow." Eltra replied. Rainbow had to trust this stallion. Either way she would die one day. Sooner or later.

"I would be happy to go with you. But, do you have any food?" Rainbow asked. Eltra smiled and throw down a small bag of apples from his side.

"It is all I have, eat up. There is more at base." Eltra replied, Rainbow began to munch into the apples.

"So." Rainbow said whilst eating. "What is with this New Equestrian Order?" She asked.

"We fight Discord's army and are beginning to rebuild Equestria." Eltra replied.

"Not Discord, just his armies?" Dash asked.

"Oh my dear. The Chaos god is dead. Nightmare Moon killed him, herself and everything you see before you almost two weeks ago, I am surprised you didn't hear the explosion."

"Explosion?"

"Yeah. After Celestia fell to Discord's magic Luna became Nightmare Moon again and killed near on everything besieging Canterlot, then let off the most catastrophic spell ever made, destroying the god and turning everything in a twenty mile radius to dust." Eltra explained. So Discord was dead, and every pony was beginning to rebuild and fight Discord's army.

"So. New Equestria it is then." Rainbow replied, eating the last apple.

"The Fall of a Nation is over Ms Dash, now is the time for our revenge."

Aftermath of a Godling

In the blackened crater beneath the destroyed mountain where the city of Canterlot used to be, rubble stirred, bits of small rocks slide down from a huge pile. There was no way of telling what kind of rocks these were as they had all been smoldered and burnt. Surely nothing could survive such a blast. Yet here it was, the groans of life steaming through the rocks as more fell down onto the cavern floor. A ponies wing shot out from under the rocks suddenly, too dark to tell what color but it was feathered and long like an Alicorns.

"I am still kicking am I? My voice sounds strange, but I am most certainly alive." A hoarse voice groaned from the rubble, more rocks fell and slowly a figure was standing out alone in the pit beneath a mountain. Some unnamed revine below where any civilization had ever been. Droplets of water splashed down onto the rocks and the figure, who stretched and laughed.

"Not the kind of prison I am used to." The voice said, then laughed again. "Although pretty darn close." The figure moved forward, rock dust falling from its hair and body. The echo of hoofprints sounded up toward the sunlight.

"Sun? Nononono NO!" The voice boomed. "We will not let that happen." The voice paused. "Chaos is and always will be the way forward. So let's bring it back. Ponies will think I am dead, so let's have a little fun." The voice, slowly became normal again, and its owner was now clear.

"How does it go? Discord, I'm howling at the moon, and sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon." Discord, God of Chaos, sang...
