Eleven PM rolled around, and I sat atop the statue above the portal, hidden by the night as the portal glowed, and Twilight nearly tripped, and would have, if not for Sunset Shimmer catching her. “ Good evening, Princess. Sunset. I’m sure you’re curious as to why I didn’t greet you directs. And why I’m sitting on the statue like a villain in a bad movie. “ I said, finally speaking up. “ Well, it’s kind of simple. Although it isn’t simple at all. I have some questions for Twilight, some things to show the girls, and amends to make. Princess, I suggest you ride with me and Sunny. Now, let’s get on with it, shall we? “ I jumped off the statue. Sunset and Twilight nodded simultaneously. It was almost cute. Sunset opened the door and Twilight hopped in, her curiosity overwhelming her logic. I sat down next to sunset and we drove off towards the plot of land everybody had nicknamed “ Canterlot Park, “. It wasn’t a park, really. It was a huge plot of land with trees, bushes, and some rocks near the Chateau’Dif.

We arrived quickly. The space was.. kinda like a park. The trees, bushes, and rocks were all scattered about. It was made clear this was intended to be a sort of courtyard for the failed hotel, but they never cleared the area. Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked. The girls had already arrived, per Rainbow’s instruction, and waved to us as we pulled in in the side of the road. This place was dead at all hours, save for the groups of teenagers who flocked here when bored. The police didn’t really give a shit, so we were left to our own devices.

“ Evening, girls. I’m sure you’re confused. Well, I brought you all here to show you some things. Now, this only happened a couple of days ago, well, part of it did, so don’t ask why I didn’t tell you sooner. Now, into the show. “ I said, motioning over to one of the larger rocks and positioning myself atop said rock, with the rest of the girls looking at me expectantly. “ Now, here’s why I called you here. During the battle of the bands, something… really weird happened. Let’s just say... what any of you thought about sirens was apparently wrong. Except the Star Swirl banishing them part. That’s true. Now, girls, I hope you’re in a forgiving mood, because I invited a few others to join us. “ I elaborated. The girls all looked confused, even Twilight. “ Girls, you can come out now! “ I called, and three girls reluctantly came out of the bushes. Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, and Sonata Dusk seemed scared at first, but when the caught my reassuring smile, their pace quickened. I hopped off the rock, and they stayed my my side. Sonata to my left, Aria and Adagio to my right.

“ Now, I may be seein’ things, but what the hell are the Sirens doing here? “ Dash asked, her voice dangerously calm. “ Let’s just say that they kinda owe me their lives and Gilda’s crazier than you thought. “ I replied. “ These three, as you know, did cause some trouble. But if you react badly to what I’m about to show you, you will likely be in some trouble yourselves. Not with the school, but with me. If you overreact, you’ll have lost yourself a friend. Girls, “ I motioned to the Dazzlings with one hand. “ Join me. You haven’t lost your magic yet, and this will make it quicker. “ I said. After some experimenting with my new powers, I had learned to trigger my siren or ponied up form at will. I could have done it the way unicorns do magic, think of the objective and it happens, but this was more dramatic. All four of us started singing at once.
“ Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh~
Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahhh~ “
Nearing the end of the chorus, a sphere of white light surrounded me. The Dazzlings stepped to the side on instinct. Sonata looked to Adagio, seeking reassurance, and Adagio nodded. The light faded, and instead of Melodious Crescendo the human standing there, I stood there in my full Siren form. Fin running from head to the base of my long, black tail. Two smaller fins on my black hooves. A long snout. Piercing cerise eyes. I was about the size of a horse. Well, a horse in this side of the mirror. “ And this is what happened while I astral projected during the battle of the bands. I didn’t tell you sooner because this happened three days ago and It freaked me the fuck out. “ I said.

“ Did anybody bring their instruments? “ Rainbow asked. My left hoof made a date with me have and I clicked my tongue a few times in mild amusement. “ Dashie, Dashie, Dashie. I am not here to hurt you. So I would appreciate no rainbow lasers. Now, I have some questions that should be obvious but I’m gonna ask ‘em anyway. “ I paused. “ Do you trust me now that I’m the leader of the Sirens? “ Everybody looked visibly uncomfortable as I asked that question. Surprisingly, Sunset and Twilight looked the most uncomfortable.
“ Listen, Crescendo, I don’t speak for the rest of us, but I don’t trust you anymore. The Dazzlings tried to kill all of us! And you’re helping them! “ Dash exclaimed, getting angrier as she continued speaking. Sunset facepalmed. I took a deep breath, exhaled, and allowed myself to transform back into my human form naturally. Dash looked angry and disappointed. Applejack looked concerned. Rarity looked betrayed. Pinkie... was being Pinkie. Sunset looked like every possible negative emotion was on her face. Okay, Melodious Crescendo, time to go into trying to be nice mode. I finally spoke up.

“ Girls, I can tell you’re uncomfortable. I can taste it. Calm down a tiny bit. Twilight, I guess you can go home, since well, where else’re ya gonna go? Rarity, please don’t tell anybody. Don’t be a.. What did Rainbow nickname it? Right. Don’t be a gossip sponge. Sunny... Should I come home with you? “ I asked. Sunset snapped back to reality when she realized I had said something.

“ Honestly, Melody? I don’t know. You can stay at my house if you have no place to go. But I’m not sure if I trust you anymore. “ Sunset said. She was being honest. She always was with me. Okay, ‘Cendo, time to think. I don’t really trust any of the girls now except Sunny, and even that trust could fade. I guess I’ll stay with her if she says yes to my next question.

“ Can my new packmates come too? I’m kind of the only thing they got. I did save their life. And by siren tradition I’m their leader. Basically, should the siren queen die, all packs of sirens are their own. And since the Adagio was beaten after her pendant shattered, I became their leader. But that’s academic. Where they go, I go. What’s it gonna be, Sunny? They stay? Or I go? “ I asked. Good girl, ‘Cendo. Concise and straight to the point. Sunset thought for a minute, the gears turning in her head. Finally, she spoke.

“ Sorry, but our house can’t fit five. So.. Sorry I guess. You can have the bits and gems I didn’t spend from my safe. My offshore bank account is worth about a hundred thousand by now. I’ll always love you, either platonically or romantically. Good luck. “ Sunset said. I nodded, no longer listening.

“ Girls, we have packing to do. I’ll get my stuff from Sunny’s house, we’ll sell the gems and stuff, get a nice trailer —one you don’t have to pull with a car, one of those ones that you drive in its own—then we find a place near CHS to stay. Sound good? “ I asked. My packmates nodded, all of them now reassured that I would never do anything to hurt them. At least intentionally. This world’s magic is insane.
