Lore starts to explore Ponyville and finds much more than he bargains for
This is an alternate continuity to the Lore's Tales fic where Lore doesn't fall in love with Twilight and starts to head into Ponyville more. These stories are mostly made from RP's in the PonyChat IRC and have been re-purposed into a fic!
Some parts do contain mature material. Any chapter with such material will have a clean version and the mature version. Please use common sense, If you don't want to read clopfics, don't read the mature versions.

It was a bright afternoon in Ponyville, the town filled with life as everypony was busy running their daily lives. The Ponyville Library was no different as Twilight was in the back, studying new spells while her number one assistant, Spike, was busy putting up books on a shelf. He hummed to himself while putting the books away until he heard the door open, “Welcome to the Ponyville Library, feel free to browse around, I’ll be right with you.” He called. He went back to finishing up his task as a mare trots in. She had a bright blue coat, unicorn, bright green eyes, a couple freckles, a poofy mane and a smooth yet curly tail with streaks of blue and green, on her flank shown a candle as her cutie mark.
She went up to a nearby shelf and started to browse the books as Spike finished his task and slid down the ladder to help her. He made his way to her and asked, “Hi, are you finding everything ok?” She looked to Spike and lit her horn causing her voice to emanate inside his mind, “*Yes, just finding something interesting to read, thank you.*” Spike was taken aback by the sudden voice, looking around to see who else was in the room, only occupants were her and him. “Woah! Who said that?” he asked slightly confused. The mare gave a smile and spoke again, “*I did, I’m using telepathy.*” she went back to browsing and found a book that struck her interest, “*May I check out this one?*” she levitated the book to him. He took the book with the most confused look still trying to piece together what was going on.
He and the mare made their way to the checkout counter, “Wait, you’re telling me that you can’t speak?” Spike asked as he opened a large book. The mare nods, “*I’m mute, because I was born without vocal cords, so I use my magic to communicate with other ponies.*” Spike looked a little saddened by this as he flipped through the pages, “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.” he said as he flipped to the page he was looking for. “*Don’t be, I’m fine.*” The mare said, looking slightly down but kept her cheery face up. Spike picked up a quill, “So, what’s your name? I haven’t seen you around here before.” The mare smiles, “*Vesper, V-E-S-P-E-R. Your Spike right?*” Spike puffs out his chest in a proud way “You know it!
“ Vesper giggles as Spike writes her name and the name of her book into the logs, then pulls out a small camera, “Now, as a new guest to the Ponyville Library, I will need to take a photo of you for our records, ok?” Vesper nods and smiles as the camera flashes.
Thanks to Twilights enchanting, the image appears beside Vesper’s name in the logs. Spike turns the book to her to show her, “You look great! Now remember that this book is due in a week, is that alright?” Vesper nods as she saw her picture on the logs, along with a few other ponies she hasn’t met, including some ponies named Colgate, Rarity, and Lore Venture. She smiles and nods as she takes her book, thanks Spike, and heads out the library. She makes her way down the street and to a nearby café, ordering a coffee to enjoy while she read her book. As she sipped and reads she notices a dark charcoal colt dashing past her levitating a book beside him, “Oh manure! Twilight will kill me if she finds me late on another check out!” Lore dashes to the library as Vesper takes notice of him, a small smile and a blush appears on her as she closes her book and continues to sip her coffee, making her way to the library.
Lore makes his way out the door with a look of relief as Vesper trots up to him. “*Hi, I’m Vesper, I’m new in town.*” Lore looks to her and give a smile, “Hi, I’m Lore Venture, Nice to meet you.”He holds out a hoof smiling. Vesper shakes his hoof, “You’re not surprised I’m using telepathy?” Lore shakes his head, “Nah, I’ve seen many weird things before, so a unicorn using telepathy isn’t that strange to me.” Vesper smiles, “Well, that’s a rare occurrence for me; almost every pony doesn’t get that right away. Well, the reason why I need to use telepathy is because I’m a mute, born without vocal cords.” Lore looks slightly saddened by this, “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that, must be hard dealing with other ponies then?” Vesper nods and gives a small smile, happy he can understand and not just feel sorry for her.
“*Hey, want to hang out? I was hoping to get to know you a bit more*” she asked blushing as she started to like Lore more the more she got to know him. Lore smiles, “Well, that little, *ahem*, scene was the last of my errands so yea, I’m free, what would you like to do?” Vesper thinks for a second before sparking an idea. “*How about we watch the sunset out in the fields? It’s getting late and would seem really nice.” Lore smiled and nodded, starting to trot with Vesper at his side. “*So, what do you do? You’re really well built so I’m guessing you are athletic?*” Lore gives a slight chuckle as they made their way through the town. “Not exactly, I’m an adventurist, and a novelty writer at times. I have a cottage in the Everfree…” Lore continues telling his stories on the way to the fields, Vesper hanging on to every word, and very much enjoying his company.
Lore and Vesper made their way to the fields just as the sun was starting to set, Lore laid out a blanket and Vesper pulled out some sandwiches for them to enjoy while they watched the sunset together. Lore and Vesper finished setting up and sat as the sun touched the horizon, its warm glow radiating over the land. Lore looked to Vesper seeing the warm light reflect off her eyes causing a beautiful glisten of green and orange, which made Lore blush. Vesper looked to Lore unsure what to say while he went back to his sandwich carefully chewing to not look suspicious. Vesper saw his blush and leaned in to rest her head on his shoulder. Lore tensed up as he felt his heart flutter, feelings he had never felt to another before, he slowly looked to Vesper and stared deep into her eyes. She stared falling deep into his orbs, slowly closing hers and leaning forward. Lore slowly closed his and leaned in to the kiss, locking lips right as the sun set into the night.
Lore and Vesper were over whelmed with emotion, passionately kissing and embracing each other, it was love at first sight. Vesper leaned back pulling Lore with her causing him to be on top of her, he got caught up in the moment and started to move his hooves along her side gently caressing her slender figure. Lore breaks the kiss panting softly as he started to get excited, both ponies looking lovingly into each other’s eyes. Vesper smiles and nuzzles Lore, enjoying their close embrace, “*I love you Lore, you are one of the most interesting ponies I have come across, caring, and handsome.*” Lore blushes and looks into her eyes, smiling as nuzzled her back. “And I love you Vesper, you are the loveliest and most adorable ponies I have ever met, something about you makes me want to always be with you, makes me fall in love with you.” Vesper blushes at the comments. “*How can I be adorable? I can’t even speak or laugh.*” Lore looks into her eyes, “I’m sure you have a wonderful laugh, even without vocal cords.” Vesper stares back to Lore, “*Tell me a joke, then you’ll see how much noise I can make.*” Lore smiles, “I have I better idea.”
Lore looks to her neck and started to lick it, tickling her, and causing her to give a soft wheeze as if laughing. Lore blushes at the sound and Vesper turns red with embarrassment. “*See? Not very adorable huh?*” Lore looked to her and responded with another ticklish lick causing her to make more wheezes, making him blush harder. Vesper pushes on Lore giggling, "*Come on Lore stop it, that tickles.*" Lore smiles and lays beside her watching the moon rise with her, feeling the lul of sleep take over. "*its a beautiful night, Isn't it Lore?*" Lore didn’t respond. Vesper looks to Lore slightly worried, “*Lore? Are you alright?*” Lore has his eyes closed makind her wonder. "Lore are you alright?*” She leans in and nuzzles him, and she notices a small snore coming from Lore, then chuckles to herself, “*Oh, ok.*” She picks up Lore and carries him on her back straining from his weight. “*Good thing my shop Is at the bottom of this hill*” she thinks to herself as she trots to a nearby building, tripping once under the weight.
She picks herself up and makes her way to the door, unlocking it and carries Lore to the bed. She places him on the bed and he curls up into a ball of charcoal fuzz. Vesper chuckes to herself and makes her way to the bathroom to wash up and makes her way to the bed. She hops in and snuggles close to Lore placing a kiss on his lips, lighting her horn. “*Goodnight Lore.*” Lore’s Voice eminates into her head speaking as he is talking to somepony. “*I have done it, I have found the mare of my dreams, I love her very much.*” Vesper smiles as she listens to his dream. She gets ready to respond with *and I found the stallion of my dreams, and I love him very much* but was cut off by the sound of an elderly mare, “*Good for you Lore.*”
“*you would’ve been so proud to meet her mother, I wish I could give her that chance.*” Vesper thinks to herself, “*Is he dreaming of his mother?*”
“*I’m sure she is a fine mare, I am very proud of you, and give you both my blessing.*” Vesper smiles at this and closes her eyes snuggling close to Lore as she falls asleep.
