Celestia stumbled back as she clashed horns with the monster in front of her. It was him, King Sombra himself. Her world’s Sombra had been causing trouble for far too long. She quickly stood up and launched herself to attack. Her magic was enough to distract him from the rest of the fight. Equestria was in battle to stop Sombra from attempting to take over. Celestia and Luna both were locked in battle. Twilight and the others remained in Canterlot to protect everypony as the two princesses and their army took to war in the Crystal Empire. Luna and their army had managed to clear off most of Sombra’s shadowlings, however, Celestia was determined to be the one to defeat Sombra then and there.

Celestia brought her horn up and then in an instant a beacon of light shined on Sombra. The magic she had stored up was all too powerful for him. Not even seconds later, he had vanished into thin air, along with his shadowlings. Celestia collapsed to the ground as Luna ran over to aid her.
“Sister! We did it!”
Celestia gave a weak yet victorious smile, “Yes, we have.”
Celestia slowly rose as they began to head back to Equestria.

It was over. As weeks turned into moons, Equestria recovered from the harsh invasion of Sombra. However, something made Celestia rather unsettled. Celestia stood out in her balcony in deep thought, as her sister came up behind her.
“Sister? What is troubling you?” Luna asked.
Celestia sighed as she looked out into the Evening sky, “Sombra is gone, which means-”
“Their Sombra can be restored.” Luna interrupted.
“But, is it really a good idea?” asked Celestia nervously.
Luna looked at her sister and smiled, “You don’t have to worry about the rift now. Now that our Sombra is gone, he can become a part of our world.”
Celestia began to panic, “But will he even accept, I mean he has a kingdom to rule, and what if the elements don’t work this time or-”
Luna stomped her hoof to silence Celestia, “Tia, he loves you, he’ll come. The elements are the only way to reverse the effects on him. With those you can dispose of his evil magic.”
“You’re right, I have to try.” responded Celestia.

The next day, Celestia flew to the Everfree Forest and retrieved the Elements of Harmony from the Tree of Harmony. The tree should be able to take care of itself now, she thought as she gathered the elements and headed back to Canterlot Castle. Luna had specifically saved all the scattered pieces of the prototype mirror in hopes this day would come. She was happy for her sister. After they put the shattered parts together, piece by piece, Celestia took out the last remaining piece. The one she had held onto all these years. This was it, she would finally see her one and only love again. As she put the last piece in, she slowly entered the portal.

As she made it to the other side, she encountered the Canterlot castle. It was clean and nice. It had seemed that the mirror versions of her and her sister had taken good care of the place. She dashed to the entrance of the castle until two guards stopped her.
“Who goes there?” asked a tall guard. The one to the right had positioned himself in a way that if Celestia tried anything, he would be ready to pounce, However, it wasn’t long until the Luna of their world came through.
“What is going on here?” she asked. She then saw Celestia and a big smile appeared on her face. “Celestia! What are you doing here? How did you get here?”
The guards let Celestia in as her and Luna talked on their way to the castle.
“Our Sombra is gone. The rift won’t affect your Sombra so I thought-” Celestia started.
“You thought you’d come and restore Sombra back to normal? Splendid, Celestia! I sure do miss his company.” said Luna.
Celestia smiled, “I have the elements with me. I just need to find him.”
Luna’s smile disappeared as she looked into the sky.
“He is currently where me and my sister used to reside. He is in the old castle in the Everfree Forest, you should find him there.” Luna informed.
Celestia nodded and gave Luna a hug, “Thank you, for everything.”

It wasn’t long before Celestia had made it to the castle of the two sisters. She flew down to the entrance and walked quietly inside. It was hauntingly similar to the one in her world. She had fond yet terrifying memories. Suddenly, she heard a noise and then a low chuckle. It sounded cold and evil. It had to be him.
“Sombra, it 's me! Show yourself! Celestia shouted.
A fog of shadow appeared as Sombra walked up to face her. He grinned maniacally. Celestia felt like she was almost in tears.
“Sombra, I am here to help you. Surrender now and this can be over with quickly” she said.
Sombra only laughed in response and lunged at her, but Celestia swiftly dodged.
“It’s over, Sombra! I am gonna put an end to your tyranny!” Celestia shouted as the Elements of Harmony floated around her, gleaming.
The elements glowed and created a rainbow light that shined on Sombra as he shouted in pain. Celestia did her best to control herself. As the light faded and the elements dropped to the floor, a thick fog appeared. Celestia wondered around trying to spot Sombra in the midst of the fog. Somewhere, anywhere. She then spotted him laying on the ground and she ran to meet him at his side.
“Sombra!” shouted Celestia.
Sombra slowly opened his eyes and laid his sight upon Celestia, who was in tears.
“Celestia, is that really you?” he responded weakly.
“Sombra, it's me. I’m here now.” She said as she helped him up.
“Celestia, are you hurt? I didn’t hurt you did I?” he asked frantically.
“No, I’m fine. Now let’s head back to the castle.” she responded
“Celestia, it is you.” Sombra simply said as he kissed her.
“Always,” She said. “Forever and always.”
