Prologue - Eight Days

We all know what happens in the original timeline...

But now...we take a look at a different timeline.

One steeped in darkness.

Twilight Sparke; the newest alicorn in Equestria, wielder of the Element of Magic, and the princess of friendship; was currently tossing and turning in her sleep.

Ever since she got her new castle, she insisted on keeping Sombra's Horn nearby for research purposes.

But for the past eight days, she's been troubled by dreams of Sombra; dreams where the tyrant breaks her mind and makes her his queen of darkness unwilling.

But as strange as it sounds, she's starting to wonder if the friendship she has with her friends will fade. She doesn't want that.

Finally, she gets up in the middle of the night. She goes to fetch Sombra's Horn. She has the perfect place to revive him in: The Castle of the Two Sisters.

It is there where she will revive King Sombra...

And embrace her inner darkness in an effort to save the friendships she's made and possibly spread even better friendships elsewhere.

She is the Princess of Friendship after all. So she is hoping that King Sombra can provide her a way of spreading friendship by using the darkness as her tool.

She stops just before the front door. She briefly wonders if she's doing the right thing.

But then she shakes her head and then resumes walking to the Castle of the Two sisters.

Through Everfree Forest she went once more; this time on her own. This is officially her ninth visit to the forest. First was the time she had to find the Elements of Harmony. The second time was when Zecora showed up for the first time. The third was for the Parasprite infestation. The fourth time, was because of Trixie and the Alicorn Amulet. The fifth time was because of Spike's greed. The sixth time was to save the Tree of Harmony. The seventh time was that time she and her friends went to the castle for reasons of their own. Then there was that 8th visit where they figured out how to unlock the chest spawned by the tree of harmony which granted twilight her new castle.

But this visit could be Twilight's final visit. She's not sure right now.

But for now, all she does know is that she will revive Sombra in the old castle of the two sisters.

Twilight hopes that everything will work out in the end...

I may have miscounted the number of times Twilight has been to Everfree forest. I really hope I have the number right.

Episode 1 - Embracing Darkness Part 1

Twilight stood in the lobby of the Castle of the Two Sisters. This was where the Elements were stored away. At least it was were the elements of Honesty, Laughter, Generosity, Kindness, and Loyalty were stored away. Magic was hidden away somewhere else.

Where it was hidden away at, even Twilight doesn't know. But for now, Twilight uses her magic to put sombra's horn on the same structure that used to hold the inactive elements of harmony. Twilight got right to work with her revival spell.

Elsewhere, Apple Bloom was running home crying alongside Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. The Cutie Mark Crusaders have once again been bullied by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. They were ready to tell Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash all about the bullying, when suddenly everyone sensed a large magical force coming from the Everfree forest, causing everyone to stop and look towards the forest.

"I am reborn!" King Sombra said. Twilight had managed to cast the revival spell successfully. She gave Sombra a smile.

"Hello Sombra." Twilight said. "Or should I call you King Sombra despite the fact that your not in power?" She asked.

"You? You've caught my interest yet again, Unicorn. Tell me, why have you..." Sombra suddenly saw Twilight's wings. "...A-a-alicorn?! Your an alicorn now?!" He exclaimed.

"Believe me, I was just as surprised as you are right now when I first became an Alicorn." Twilight said. "But that doesn't change why I revived you." She said. "I grow worried about the friendships I've made slipping away, and the more I think on it, the more my mind tends to think of you." Twilight said. "I'm sure that with convincing, I can get my friends to join us willingly. That is...if you'll have me as your queen." She said. Sombra laughed.

"Willingly eh? I wonder just how much your willing to prove yourself to me to be worthy as my queen." Sombra stated.

"You have no idea, King Sombra; I want everypony to willingly join us eventually, but starting with my friends will be a great start." Twilight noted. Sombra laughed again.

"You amuse me. And what makes you think I won't just kill you where stand?" Sombra asked.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take; I want to make my friendships deepen to the point where they can't be broken. I don't want to lose any of my friendships. And if becoming your queen is the way to do that, then so be it." Twilight said.

"You keep interesting me more and more. Very well, I suppose I can give you the chance." Sombra said. "But know this: If you fail before you prove yourself, you will be killed on the spot. Do I make myself clear, Twilight Sparkle?" Sombra asked. Twilight looked up, her form taking on a dark coloration.

"...Crystal Clear." Twilight said. Sombra shot some dark magic towards Twilight; laughing evilly as he did so.

Dark magic envoloped Twilight; swirling around her. It changed her physically, but not mentally. Sombra figures that if Twilight is true to her word, and makes her friends join willingly, then he is willing to let her keep her mind. Eventually, the darkness faded away, and revealed a much taller, and much more foreboding looking Twilight Sparkle. The new Dark Twilight laughed evially.

"Today Ponyville..." Twilight said with an evil grin. "Tomorrow the world!" She added before laughing evilly.

Episode 2 - Embracing Darkness Part 2

Dark Queen Twilight. That was Twilight's new name. Soon all of Equestria will be united. On her terms. Using her methods. Nothing like what Starlight Glimmer was going. No. Far from it.

Twilight took around at the surroundings. "What do you say I spruce this place up a bit first, my king?" Twilight asked.

"Oh? This I have to see." King Sombra said. Twilight quickly used a spell that not only would effect the castle, but would effect the forest as well.

As everyone turned their eyes towards the Everfree forest, they quickly noticed the castle of the two sisters quickly shifting and shaping into a giant black crystal castle as the forest itself started to morph and twist into a road made of black crystals not unlike what Sombra created.

"King Sombra." Rainbow Dash noted.

"So, he is the one behind all this." Applejack said.

"Doesn't he just give up?" Fluttershy asked.

"I don't know if he even knows the meaning of the phrase." Rarity said.

"I know...it's like he's asking us to beat him up again." Pinkie Pie said. Suddenly Spike came up to the five mares.

"Guys...Twighlight is missing!" Spike said.

"Sombra...so he snatched her up when we weren't looking, did he? He must have figured out that without one of us, the elements are usleless." Rainbow Dash said.

"Ah don't know Rainbow...Ah don't think Sombra even knows about the elements." Applejack said.

"Oh I hope he doesn't do anything too terrible to Twilight..." Fluttershy pointed out.

"Then we need to figure out a plan. Fast." Pinkie Pie said.

"Perhaps we should discuss this in Twilight's Castle." Rarity suggested. The group nodded and headed to the castle.

A black shadow went behind them, before splitting off and going into Rarity's Boutique.

As the rest of the main 6 discussed their next action, the black shadow left Rarity's Boutique and headed back to the castle that was created. The shadow revealed itself to be King Sombra once it was inside. He took out a ruby heart he had acquired.

"Thank you, King Sombra." Twilight said and levitated the ruby heart to her.

"I am curious...how exactly does this play out into your plans?" King Sombra said.

"Easy. This is a Fire Ruby, and used to belong to my assistant Spike. He gave it to Rarity, but on his birthday, he gave into his dragon's greed and grew out of control. It wasn't until he saw Rarity wearing this very same gem that he was reminded of his former nature. By breaking this thing up and tricking Spike into eating it, I am essentially guaranteeing that he will join us willingly, whether he realizes he will or not." Twilight said.

"And by proxy, removing the one thing that could coax him back." King Sombra said. "Interesting. Not even a few moments in and you've already got a complicated plan going." He said with a smirk. Twilight chuckled.

"What did you expect from someone who does checklists, reads books, and organizes things for a living? I guarantee you this, my king: When I am through with my friends and the residents of Ponyville, you will see that I am being quite sincere in becoming your Queen of Darkness." Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh.

Episode 3 - Embracing Darkness Part 3

"What exactly are we going to do about the Everfree Forest?" Rairty asked the others.

"What else can we do? Go to that big castle and kick Sombra's flank!" Rainbow Dash stated. "Oh, and rescue Twilight." She added.

"We need to know what we're dealing with though. If we walk in blind, we might be stumbling into a trap." Apple Jack said.

"The one time we wish Twilight was here..." Pinkie Pie said. "Wait...that's it! We'll send Spike to scout!" She added.

"He is the closest one to Twilight. We're counting on you." Fluttershy said.

"Why me?" Spike asked. But then Rarity gave him a kiss on the cheek, and he eagerly left to the Everfree Forest afterwards.

"Oh? What's this?" Twilight said, looking through a telescope to spot Spike leaving the Castle of Friendship. "I bet my friends have sent Spike out to try and scout the castle I created for Sombra." Twilight said. "But little do they know, that's EXACTLY what I was hoping they'd do." Twilight said. Sombra suddenly came up behind her.

"What do you mean that's exactly what you were hoping they'd do? You mean you actually PLANNED for them to send Spike our way?" Sombra asked. Twilight gave a chuckle.

"But of course. And I know just how to get under his skin. Just sit back, and watch." Twilight said before teleporting to the main hall of the castle.

Soon, Spike had managed to reach the front gate of the Castle of Darkness. Opening the front gates, the baby dragon soon stepped inside and went past the foyer. The baby dragon went from room to room, before he finally found himself entering the main room.

"Hello Spike." Twilight said to her Dragon Companion.

"Tw-twlight?! Your okay!" Spike exclaimed. The baby dragon was relieved to see Twilight unharmed and unchanged.

"But of course I am okay, my number one assistant." Twilight said. "...But I'm not one hundred percent sure if I should keep you as my assistant..." She added. This took the baby dragon by surprise.

"But...Twilight...how can you say that?" Spike asked.

"Do you think for one second that I forgot how you framed Owlicious for something he didn't do?" Twilight asked. "Or did you think I forgot how you gave Rarity that book that made anything she thought about become real?" She added. This was making Spike recoil in horror.

"Twilight...I thought you said you forgave me for all that?" Spike asked, the baby dragon beginning to grow distant, and dark.

"At the time, I did; but I never forgot it. And let's not forget the most damming thing you ever did." Twilight said. "You let your dragon greed get the best of you." Twilight nailed her final point using the royal voice. "On your birthday, you kept asking for more and more things, and by the time it was the next day, you had collected so much stuff that you had started becoming an actual monster!" She added once more in her royal voice. The baby dragon was no longer feeling so secure about what was going on.

"But...but..." Spike was starting to cry now. Twilight was right. He's done a lot of bad despite having done his best to do good. Suddenly, Twilight hugged him as Sombra entered.

"There there Spike. I can let you continue being my number one assistant on one simple condition." Twilight stated.

"Anything Twilight...to continue being your number one assistant, I will do anything!" Spike said. Twilight soon levitated a bowl of gems towards Spike.

"You will help me convince the others that the darkness isn't so bad, and it will be in their best interest to embrace the darkness within. And you can start, by trusting in me. Only then can you have this bowl of gems." Twilgiht said.

"Spike...will trust Twilight. Spike want gems!" Spike said, his greed suddenly returning on the promise of gems. Twilight smiled and let Spike have the bowl of gems. As soon as spike took the bowl of gems, his scales became a dark purple while his spines became a very deep green. His hands became more like actual claws despite his small amount of greed and his feet grew a bit as well. He was no longer Spike the baby dragon; he was now Dark Spike.

"Spike, I want you to guard the castle as you eat that bowl of gems. I'm expecting my friends, a student of mine, and an old foe of mine to come here soon enough. Once your finished with that bowl, I will give you a second bowl. And more bowls after that for as long as you guard this castle." Twilight said as she watched Dark Spike chow on his gems.

"Spike love gems. Spike want gems. Spike guard castle for gems!" Dark Spike said and left the castle.

"I must admit...I did not think he would be so easy. Tell me, Twilight...how exactly did you make him willingly join us?" Sombra asked.

"It's simple your highness: I used his insecurities against him to force him into a lonely state; from there, I simply gave him an offer he could not refuse." Twilight said. Sombra laughed.

"It seems you are quite serious about being my queen after all. I can hardly wait for what you have in store next." Sombra said. Twilight chuckled.

"Oh, you will not even begin to guess what the next phase of my plan involves. Let's just say, my friends are going to require the help of three particular little fillies in order to get them to join willingly." Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh.

Elsewhere, the element of magic grew dark.

NEXT ARK: THE DARK CMC

Episode 4 - The Dark CMC Part 1

The Dark CMC

"It's been three hours..." Rainbow Dash said. "I think Spike has been captured." She added.

"As much as I'd hate to admit it...I think Rainbow Dash is right." Applejack said. "Three hours is way too long for even spike for a simple scouting mission." She said. Suddenly they heard a sound coming from another room. "What was that?" She asked. All of a sudden, in walked Sunset Shimmer.

"Um...hey..." She said. "Look before you say anything..." The orange unicorn said before she was waved by Rarity.

"Twilight...sort of told us everything." Rairty said. "Apperently, you learnt friendship in an alternate world. Oh, and also changed for the better." She added.

"So in other words, your good now." Rainbow Dash said.

"Right..." Sunset said. "Anyways, I came over as soon as I had free time. Spike wrote that something was wrong with Twilight?" Sunset mentioned. Everyone looked at each other.

"...So spike had a back up plan..." Fluttershy said.

"I suppose that's a perk that comes with being Twilight's number one assistant." Pinkie Pie said.

"Um...not to sound rude here but...where's Twilight?" Sunset Asked.

"Strap in, this is gonna take some explainin'." Applejack said.

"...And it's been three hours since Spike left. We're getting quite worried, darling." Rarity said.

"Figures. Spike must have summoned me not just as a back up plan, but considering everything, I'm probably the best there is to help rescue her." Sunset said. Suddenly the doors to the map room uponed and fireworks went everywhere.

"BEHOLD TWILIGHT SPARKLE, FOR I; THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE; HAVE RETURNED TO..." Trixie said before noticing the lavander alicorn was not in the room. "...Of all the time for her to go missing, is the one time I come to apologize to her for the trouble I caused the last time I was here..." Trixie said.

"I...um...what?" Sunset said, baffled just as much as everyone else. "I need information again..." She said.

What Trixie didn't know, was that Twilight was watching her enter the Castle of Friendship from the Castle of Darkness.

"There you are, Trixe Lunamoon." Twilight said with a grin. Sombra's magic that gave her her Dark Queen form was only a sample of the power Sombra would provide her for when she proved her work. "Then by my calculations, she is currently explaining the events regarding that Ursa Minor* and the Alicorn Amulet** to Sunset Shimmer." Twilight said. The mention of the Alicorn Amulet got Sombra's attention.

"You know where the Alicorn Amulet is?!" Sombra exclaimed.

"But of course I do, my king. I gave it to my friend Zecora for Safe Keeping." Twilight said.

"Twilight, would you be a dear and destroy that blasted amulet for me?" Sombra asked.

"But of couse. I planned on destroying it so it couldn't be used against us anyways." Twilight said.

"Well...that would be one thing. But the real reason I want you to destroy it, is because believe it or not, I used to be an Alicorn. But with Starswirl the Bearded sealed away my alicorn status into a single red gem that eventually became the Alicorn Amulet from what I've heard." Sombra said.

"So...if I destroy the amulet, your full power will be restored. Do I understand that correctly, my king?" Twilight asked.

"But of course." Sombra said.

"Then, I will destroy it right in front of my friends, Sunset, and Trixie for when they arrive here." Twilight said.

"That sounds evil, and devious. I'm beginning to believe your sincerity. Continue proving your worth like this, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will take you as my Queen of Darkness." Sombra said.

"But of course. That is the end goal, is it not?" Twilight said. She gave off an evil laugh before heading off to collect the alicorn amulet.

"...So...that's everything." Rarity said.

"King Sombra huh...I've heard about his evil ways." Trixie said.

"Oh you have no idea." Fluttershy said. "Words alone don't do him justice." She said.

"I'm willing to take your word for it." Trixie said. "So, we going to go rescue Twilight so Trixie can give her apology?" She asked.

"Um...are you coming just for that reason alone? Because I think your coming to rub one in Twlight's face." Rainbow Dash said.

"While rescuing Twilight would give me something to actually boast about; Trixie's apology isn't the only reason." Trixie said. She suddenly took off her hat. "...Despite Trixie's best efforts of going on a redemption magic tour, I haven't really seen much of an audience. I can tell when it's time to retire, so I've come to Ponyville to apologize to everyone, including the newly alicorn'd Twilight Sparkle, and settle down here while dong my best to make up for all the things I did." Trixie said. Genuine tears filled her eyes as she said this.

"Ah never thought you'd actually be willing to do all that..." Apple Jack said.

"Trixie...is not proud of what happened." Trixie said. "So...yes...I am sorry. I am willing to do everything I can to make up for the things I did." She added while trying not to cry.

"I can relate." Sunset said with a smile. "I did things I'm not exactly proud of either. So I can emphasize with Trixie." Sunset said.

"Trixie is just not sure how well her illusions will work against this King Sombra...but Trixie promises to do her best. Not just for Twilight's sake, but for your sakes as well." Trixie said.

"You've certain come a long ways." Fluttershy said.

"She's your friend; and I suppose if it helps you accept my apologize all the more...then helping you help her is the least I can do to show that I meant it when I said I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused." Trixie said. The elements smiled at Trixie as did Sunset.

Elsewhere, the tree of harmony suddenly grew two new elements: The Element of Empathy, and The Element of Forgiveness.

Second off, yes I basically got the Element of Empathy from other fanfics regarding Sunset. As for the Element of Forgiveness, that comes from a youtuber and their video series known as "Princess Trixie Sparkle". Outside of the names of the two new elements and their holders, everything else is being done of my own accord.

Episode 5 - The Dark CMC Part 2

"So, this is the tree of Harmony..." Sombra said, gazing upon the tree of Harmony as Twilight began removing the elements from it; including the now darkened element of magic.

"Indeed it is. There was a point where the tree protected Ponyville from the plunderseed vines. But after my spell, the plunderseeds have been cleared, and the rest of the Everfree Forest has become our domain." Twilight said. "The spell that I have cast onto what was once the Everfree Forest will prevent it from ever growing again." She added before putting all the elements into a case she had brought with her. "Thus, the tree itself will be fine without the elements. They were only really given back so the tree could combat the Plunderseed Vine infestation. Now that the Plunderseed Vines are no longer a threat, the elements can be removed permantly." Twlight explained.

"So, what's your big plan for the elements? You know you can't use them by yourself, yes?" Sombra asked.

"I am aware of that, but once my friends have willingly joined our side Sombra, then the use for them will become clear as day." Twilight said. "Let's just say that I have an endgame in mind for Celestia and Luna." She said before doing another evil laugh.

"I can only begin to imagine just what your ultimate plan here is." Sombra said. "The more things you do, the more steps you take...are proving your worth. I only wish this could move a little faster then it is." He added.

"I wish the same, but patience is a virtue." Twilight said as she started to leave. "But then you'd know all about that, wouldn't you, my king?" She asked.

"I've waited a thousand years to rule equestria; I suppose I can play the slow game if it means that is what happens at the end." Sombra said. Twilight flashed him a smile.

"Just keep faith in me and my plans; my worth to you will be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt." Twilight said, a grin on her face.

"You've certain proven you can be trusted at the least; but not enough to become my queen of darkness. At least not yet." Sombra said. "But you are getting there." He added with a grin of his own.

"I'll admit, I am expecting resistance here..." Sunset said. "Given King Sombra, he's bound to have a few traps in place or a way to see that we're coming to him rather then waiting around for him to do something." She added.

"But Twilight needs our help." Rainbow Dash said. "So we'll have to roll with the punches as they say." She added.

"I'm not gonna lie...I'm a little worried we will not make it back." Trixie said, looking towards the forest.

"The forest may have changed, but if we can locate Zecora's hut, we'll have a good landmark to use on the way to the castle. I doubt King Sombra got rid of everything in the forest." Rarity said. Suddenly the group spotted the Zebra in question carrying supplies into town.

"Zecora!" Applejack said and went up to the Zebra alongside the rest of the girls.

"I...tried to talk to her and make her see a way...but her mind was distant and far away..." Zecora said.

"Her? What do you mean 'her'?" Fluttershy asked. "Sombra is male..." She added.

"Has Rarity not checked her boutique of neatness; because once she has, then you'd know why my mane is quite a mess..." Zecora said.

"My beautique?!" Rairity said before going off the check. She suddenly screamed at the top of her lung and rushed back.

"My house...it's been turned upside down as if someone had looked for something specific!" Rarity said. "I checked, and the Fire Ruby; the one my little Spikey Wikey gave me; is gone!" She exclaimed.

"But...the only person who know where it was..." Pinkie Pie looked to Zecora. "What's missing from your house?" She asked.

"Looked everywhere I did once I realized the mess, if only what was stolen was something less. Gone from my home like the bone of a horn, the amulet I have been keeping that resembles an Alicorn." Zecora said. Everyone gasped.

"The Alicorn Amulet!" Trixie said.

"You mean that thing you used the last time you were here?!" Sunset exclaimed.

"The one and only..." Rainbow Dash said.

"But if it was stolen like the Fire Ruby was earlier..." Rarity said.

"And knowing we all know of only one pony who knows both things..." Fluttershy said.

"Could it be...Sombra's Corrupted Twilight?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.

"It's the only explanation that makes sense, I reckon. Well now we know what he's done with her." Applejack said.

"Hold up...it could've been a corrupted Twilight, but it could've also been Sombra after he got the information out of her somehow." Rainbow Dash said.

"That is also a possibility..." Fluttershy admitted.

"My gut's telling me Twilight's been corrupted and Sombra is using her as his puppet. Once we stop Sombra, we'll free our best friend!" Applejack said.

"Well we were going to free Twilight regardless of the circumstances; that much would be true." Trixie said. "So here's hoping Sombra won't use her against us." She said. Everyone blinked. "What? She's super mega powerful. We should be worried he might use her against us!" Trixie said.

"Somehow...that doesn't make me feel any better..." Sunset said.

They could hear an evil laugh coming from Everfree forest shortly after Sunset finished speaking.

Episode 6 - The Dark CMC Part 3

Twilight was looking through her telescope at the other bearers of the elements. "Perfect." She said. She went inside the castle itself.

Twilgiht soon came into the throne room she had managed to set up; right now it only has Sombra's throne, but there is room for hers...for when Sombra decides she's proven herself enough.

"I just hope he decides it soon." She said before bringing out the element of magic. After removing the element of magic from the tree, Twilight had created a black version of the crown that she wore whenever she wielded the Element of Magic. She smiled as she levitated the new crown into storage for later. "Only a matter of time until the other bearers get here..." Twilight just as Sombra entered the Throne Room. "And then you'll see the next part of my plan in action." She said.

"Considering how willing you made Spike, I wonder if you aren't overthinking this by assuming they won't be willing yet." Sombra said.

"I know they won't." Twilight said. "It has to do with the Cutie Mark Crusaders I told you about. Applejack and Rarity are related by blood to two of them; sisters in fact. And while not biological sisters, Rainbow Dash is a surrogate sister to the third." She explained. "Those three relationships will be holding the other element bearers back from joining willingly, but my friends won't be wasting time and be charging the castle shortly in an attempt to 'save' me from you." Twilight continued. "So, I'm going to personally attack them psychologically and make them flee in fear on this go around to buy me some time to get the cutie mark crusaders to join us willingly." She finished.

"If everything goes according to your plan. I'm not sure why you don't imprison them instead of letting them run." Sombra said.

"Because Sombra...I want to show them something special. And make them understand one simple fact." Twilgiht said. "...That the Darkness is here to stay!" She added before giving off an evil laugh.

Arriving just outside the gate, the elements see the front door opened wide.

"This looks like it could be a trap..." Sunset said. Trixe tossed one of her firework bombs at the front door. It went off without much trouble.

"No trap. How odd." Trixie said.

"Now what the hay did you do that for?" Applejack said.

"Trixie's firework bombs; while flashy; are good at using to trigger any traps." Trixie stated.

"You mean you can use those things to safely trigger traps?!" Rarity exclaimed.

"In a nutshell, yes. You could say that." Trixie said.

"I never thought I'd live to see the day to be glad Trixie is on our side." Rainbow Dash said.

"I am SO adding a 'thanks for helping' party on my schedule for Trixie later." Pinkie Pie said.

"You pretty much are the party pony I pegged you for." Trixie said as they entered the castle. They went through room after room, soon finding the main room.

"! Everyone hide!" Sunset said. They all did so. From their hiding spot, they see Twilight giving a bowl of gems to a growing spike.

"Here you go, my number one assistant." Twilight said. "Make sure you take your time with this bowl; there's some special cut rubies mixed into this one. I want you to savor every last crunch this time." She said.

"Spike will." Spike said, his voice having changed a little since the girls last saw him before he took his gem bowl outside. The girls watched Twilight leave the room.

"It's just as we feared: Sombra's corrupted Twilight, and to make matters worse, he's turned spike against us now!" Fluttershy said.

"But as soon as we take care of Sombra, we can get Twilight back and once we have her back, she'll find the Fire Ruby so we can get Spike back." Rarity said.

"Fair enough." Sunset said. "Let's just hope Sombra's dumb enough to not use Twilight against us." She said. The girls passed through the main room and soon came across the largest set of double doors they have ever seen.

From behind the double doors, Twilight smirked.

"...Time for me to prove my worth to my king." Twilight said before doing another evil laugh. Just as the elements were opening the door and heading inside to the throne room, some strange music started playing.

Episode 7 - The Dark CMC Part 4

"Previously, on Embracing Darkness..." Sunset's voice said.

"Time for me to prove my worth to my king." Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh.

"And now the continuation..." Sunset's voice said.

The elements rushed into the throne room as soon as Twilight's evil laugh had ended.

"Oh hello girls, Sunset, and Trixie." Twilight said a smile on her face.

"Twilight...your okay! ...Somewhat..." Trixie said.

"I do have to say dear, the darker coat and mane does not look good on you; but kudos to you for trying something new I suppose." Rarity said. Everyone just stared at her. "What?" Rarity asked.

"Of course only SHE would actually care about Twilight's looks when that's not important right now." Pinkie Pie said.

"The important thing is that we found Twilight safe and sound, now we just need to rescue her and spike from Sombra." Fluttershy said. Twilight couldn't help but laugh as that.

"Wh-what's so gosh darn funny, sugarcube?" Applejack asked.

"Yeah, after all, rescuing you and spike from Sombra's grasp is what we came here to do." Rainbow Dash said.

"Oh Rainbow Rainbow Rainbow...none of you actually get it yet, do you?" Twilight asked.

"Hmm? Get what?" Sunset asked.

"The fact that we're not being corrupted by sombra." Twilight said. "We came to him willingly." She added with a sly grin.

"Th-that's a joke right..." Applejack said.

"Oh Applejack, for being the element of honesty, you are lying to yourself when you say that." Twilight said. This caused Applejack to flinch.

"Hey! That's uncalled for!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Says the one who accidently caused Fluttershy to fall down to ponyville during their race when they were a little filly; so much for being the element of loyalty." Twilight said. Now it was Rainbow Dash's turn to flinch.

"That's not being very nice..." Fluttershy said.

"And for being the element of kindness, you sure lost it on that dragon when he attacked everyone." Twlight spoke. Fluttershy flinched from that.

"Twilight, darling...we've all made our mistakes." Rarity said.

"For being the element of generosity, you have yet to acknowledge spike's existence beyond thanking him for your tasks which one could see as you using him as your slave just because he has a crush on you." Twilight said. Not only did that cause Rarity to flinch, but it gave her an embarrassed blush on her cheeks.

"Hey twilight...this is all one big joke right?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Even if it wasn't, shouldn't the element of laughter be laughing through this?" Twilight said. Seems not even Pinkie Pie was safe from flinching as a result of Twilight's words.

"Twilight...how could you attack your friends like this?" Sunset asked.

"For one who empathizes with others, I'm just pointing out their various flaws; and your not exactly miss perfect either what with stealing my crown and enslaving a school." Twilight said. Even Sunset was made to flinch. Twilight soon took out the Alicorn Amulet.

"The Alicorn amulet...Twilight, don't wear that thing!" Trixie shouted, hoping that she could get through to Twilight. After all, Twilight had nothing on her...right?

"For one who sought forgiveness because of this and indirectly causing the Ursa Minor attack, you really think I'm going to wear this thing? No..." Twilight said before suddenly King Sombra appeared. "Instead...I'm going to destroy it!" She said before promptly destroying the Alicorn amulet. This caused Trixie to flinch, and the group were not witness to King Sombra's transformation.

Not that there was anything flashy about it; dark magic pooled forth from the broken amulet, wrapped itself around Sombra, and then granted the gray stallion a pair of wings.

"HE'S NOW AN ALICORN?!" Everyone but Twilight and Sombra yelled out.

"Sombra's Alicorn powers were locked away in the Alicorn Amulet; an artifact created by one Starswirl the Bearded. As much as I would've loved to keep it around as a souvenir of my idol..." Twilight turned her head towards Sombra. "...Proving my worth to my king so that I may become his queen of darkness is more important to me." She said. At that everyone started to shake in fear as music began to play.

The Darkness is Here to Stay

Every one of you has their problems...
But only I can make you see the light.

Because believe it or not, the dakrness isn't so bad...
Just open up your eyes and you'll see I'm right.

You may think that I'm corrupted...
When that is quite bathed in truthless.

As soon as the music ends, Twilight gives off an evil laugh just as evil as the rest.

Episode 8 - The Dark CMC Part 5

The Cutie Mark Crusaders were watching from nearby as the elements fled the Castle, looking scared and insecure.

"What the hay happened to our sisters?" Apple Bloom said.

"I bet some mean pony did this!" Sweetie Belle said.

"Hey, maybe if we can defeat that mean pony, we'll get our cutie marks." Scootaloo said.

"That...actually would make a lot of sense. Maybe this is what we're meant to do: Help out the elements for whenever there's a foe that they alone can't get past." Sweetie Belle said.

"I'm liking this idea..." Scootaloo said.

"Then we know what we have to do..." Apple Bloom said.

"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS ELEMENT HELPERS, YEAH!" The three fillies said in unison at the top of their lungs.

Twilight was currently bowing before King Sombra.

"I'm quite impressed with how devious you've been and how much you've proven your worth to me." King Sombra stated.

"As I have mentioned, my plans for Ponyville have only just began; to say nothing of my plans for Canterlot and the lands beyond." Twilight said.

"Plans that you are putting forth in an effort to become my queen. I must say, I didn't expect you to become so...savage..." King Sombra said.

"The savagery is necessary; to get my friends to join us willingly, I must first break their spirits. Only then can the darkness begin to take root inside each of them." Twilight said. "Now that their spirits are partially broken, the next part of my plan can begin. As we speak, my friends are fleeing into Ponyville, where I suspect they'll be spotted by the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Once the three young fillies spot my fleeing friends, they'll have the idea to try and defeat the evil pony that lurks in this castle." Twilight explained.

"At which point, you will break their spirits, and get them to join us willingly, so that they can provide proof that joining us willingly is in the best interest of all your friends." King Sombra said.

"Even if things are moving slower then your used to, you cannot deny the results with Spike. The CMC will be just as easy, if not more so, considering they've been bullied. Attacking their already fragile spirits will be child's play." Twilight said. King Sombra laughed.

"Twilight Sparkle...I think I'm going to enjoy your presence for many years to come." King Sombra said.

"Does this mean..." Twilight was going to ask but was stopped by King Sombra.

"But, in order for me to grant you full access to the dark arts, I want to see just how you'll attack these 'Cutie Mark Crusaders'. Once I've seen your verbal assault on them, I will make my decision on whether or not you'll get the honor to become my queen. I will at least tell you this: Even if I won't accept you as my queen right away, does not mean the honor will go away forever. You have at least proven your worth enough to earn my trust and my patience moving forward, and enough to where I believe you will not stab me in the back later." King Sombra said. Twilight was disappointed but nodded all the same.

"I won't let you down, my king." Twilight said.

"How many rooms can there be in this place?!" Scootaloo exclaimed. The trio of fillies have been exploring the Castle of Darkness for quite a bit now; wondering around aimlessly.

"If ah was an evil pony that scared off the elements...where would ah be?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Well...you'd most likely be in the throne room or a similar place to rule from." Sweetie Belle said. That's when they realized they've been wasting their time looking in random rooms.

"DUH!" The three fillies all said at the same time and started heading down the linear path marked by double doors.

"The CMC will be arriving very shortly, your highness." Twlight said, readying herself. "Brace yourself, my king, for I will show you just how easily I can break these three young fillies, and get them to accept their place as the Dark CMC!" Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh.

Episode 9 - The Dark CMC Part 6

"Previously, on Embracing Darkness..." Twlight's voice said.

"Brace yourself my king..." Twilight told King Sombra. "For you will see just how easily I can break the spirits of three children!" Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh.

"And now, the continuation..." Twilight's voice said.

The CMC finally managed to locate the throne room doors and entered the throne room, seeing Twilight there with Sombra.

"Who the heck is this next to Twilight?" Scootaloo said.

"That must be...King Sombra! Our sisters told us about him!" Sweetie Belle said.

"Then he must be the mean pony who caused our sisters such fear." Apple Bloom said. Twilight laughed. "...Princess Twilight?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Oh you naïve children...I thought you'd figure it out despite not having your cutie marks yet." Twilight said with a smirk.

"Huh? What do ya mean?" Apple Bloom asked.

"For being the sister of the element of honesty, you don't get it yet do you? I'm the one your after. Not Sombra." Twilight said. This caused all three fillies to be shocked.

"YOU?!" The CMC all said at once.

"That's right. And let's start with you, Scootaloo. Not only have you yet to earn your cutie mark, but you've been struggling to fly. Such a shame." Twilight said.

"That's...not...fair..." Scootaloo said, suddenly looking distant.

"And then there's Sweetie Belle. You yourself have been struggling with using your unicorn magic." Twilight said.

"Why...are you..." Sweetie tried to say, but found her voice fading fast in her throught; going distant.

"But let's not forget Apple Bloom...bullied by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon yet forgets about Family Appreciation Day." Twilight said.

"So...savage..." Apple Bloom said going distant as well.

"But I'm not heartless. These things needed to be said." Twilight said. "Every attempt you've made to earn your cutie marks has ended in failure and disaster." She added.

"It's...true..." Scootaloo said, growing dark.

"And yet you've become so determined to find your purposes, that you don't want to give up. Just as Scootaloo doesn't want to give up on trying to fly, or Sweetie Belle doesn't want to give up on using magic." Twilight said.

"So...very...true..." Sweetie Bell said, growing dark.

"And let's not forget Apple Bloom, who tried so hard to get her cutie mark the day she met the two of you, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, just so she could stick it to Diamond Tiara's face." Twilight said.

"I...am sorry..." Apple Bloom said, growing dark.

"But now, I offer you a choice: Join Sombra and I in making my friends join us willingly, or we force you." Twilight said.

"We accept your offer." The CMC said at once.

"Excellent." Twilight said. At this, Dark magic enveloped the CMC before converting them into...THE DARK CMC! Plus, they all had cutie marks now, and they were black shields complete with their respective sister's elements on them. Also, Scootaloo could actually fly now on top of Sweetie Being able to use magic properly.

"Oh yeah, this is AWESOME!" Dark Scootaloo said.

"You bet, I can't wait to show our sisters!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"Ah reckon there's only one thing to do..." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"DARK CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS DARK SPREADERS, YEAH!" The Dark CMC all shouted at once before running off to go find the elements. King Sombra turned to Twilight.

"Seems I was worried for nothing...I can hardly wait to see how your friends react to this." Sombra said with a grin.

"If things go as planned, they'll be coming back as soon as the Dark CMC shows up in their new forms and their new cutie marks." Twilight said. "All of this, to preserve the friendships I've made in a brand new way. And they say the darkness is evil." She said. "No, Darkness can be good even if the methods are bad. I see that so clearly now. And I can't wait to show you more." Twilight said.

"I can't wait to see more." King Sombra said with a grin.

Episode 10 - The Dark Elements Part 1

"I'd say that things are going smoothly now." Twilight said. "Again, all that is needed is patience..." She said.

"Things are moving a little too smoothly though...I'm expecting something unexcepted to pop up..." Sombra said. As if on cue, suddenly Cadence and Shining Armor Appeared. "I JUST HAD TO JINX IT, DIDN'T I?!" Sombra exclaimed.

"...Well this is quite the surprise..." Twilight said.

"Twily...this isn't you, this isn't right!" Shining Armor said. "Sombra must have done something to your mind!" He added.

"Oh silly B.B.B.F.F.; nothing is wrong with my mind..." Twilight said. "In fact, my mind couldn't be clearer. I'm afraid this is who I am now, and I love it." She added.

"Twilight...how could you..." Cadence said. "Everything was going so well..." She said.

"It's time you woke up and smelled the roses...this isn't some Saturday morning cartoon where the villain is reformed in five seconds!" Twilight shouted.

"Cadence and Shining Armor have already left for King Sombra's new castle." Celestia stated, looking over the elements of harmony. "Hopefully, the two of them can stop Sombra and save Twilight before Sombra corrupts her further." She said.

"We best go check up on Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo." Rarity said. "...And keep them from going to the castle on another one of their crusades..." She said.

"For once...you've got a point Rarity." Rainbow Dash said. "Let's go!" She said.

"This...is all my fault..." Diamond Tiara said to Silver Spoon as she got a bed sheet rope out the window. "If I hadn't have pushed them, they would've never gone towards that creepy looking castle..." Diamond Tiara said. "We've got to go find them, and keep them from going towards that place." She added.

"Why should we care? Their just a bunch of blank flanks." Silver Spoon said.

"Blank Flanks or not, I wouldn't want even my worst enemy anywhere near that place!" Diamond Tiara said. "Besides, I care." She said. "At least for one of them I do...but I have to do something now, or I might not ever get the chance to do so again." Diamond Tiara said.

Cadence and Shining Armor are getting weak...and with zero progress.

"I would advise ceasing this fighting at once." Twilight said. "I really don't want to force you two into anything." She said.

"Twilight...what happened to you?" Shining Armor asked.

"What happened you may ask? This is a question coming from the one who mistook a disguised Chrysalis as my own foal sitter!" Twilight countered. This caused Shining Armor to recoil and grow dark.

"Twilight...that wasn't his fault..." Cadence said.

"And you...you allowed yourself to be captured by the same Chrysalis that brainwashed my brother!" Twilight said. This caused Cadence to recoil and grow dark. "But I'm not heartless." Twilight spoke.

"Wh-what...?" Shining Armor was confused.

"What do you mean...?" Cadence said. Twilight gave a grin.

"Just sit back...and enjoy the coming show, and you'll see exactly what I mean..." Twilight said.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY WENT TO THE CASTLE?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed after she heard where the CMC were from Diamond Tiara.

"That's where I saw them heading. I'm not lying, I swear." Diamond Tiara said.

"Because of course they would go there..." Applejack said. "We best get going and save them." She said as the Elements ran off.

"...Good Luck..." Diamond Tiara said. "But just in case..." She said and got somethings together. "...Me and Silver Spoon need to be ready..." Diamond Tiara finished.

Episode 11 - The Dark Elements Part 2

Remembering the layout from last time, it didn't take long for the elements to find the Throne Room again. Once there, they saw Sombra and Twilight waiting, plus a battered Cadence and Shining Armor.

"Sombra...you turned Twilight on her own brother and sister-in-law?!" Rarity exclaimed.

"YOU MONSTER!" Pinkie Pie yelled out.

"Oh I did it of my own accord, I assure you." Twilight said.

"Twilight stop this farce now!" Sunset said.

"Yeah, this act has gone on long enough!" Trixie said.

"Oh please, as if you have any room to talk, showmare." Twilight said.

"Twilight, you've got to fight this corruption!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Yeah, I don't want to believe that this is who you are now." Applejack said.

"Um...if that's okay..." Fluttershy said. Twilight gave off an evil laugh.

"Oh girls...you really don't get it, do you? Well, it's a good thing I have further help this time." Twilight said before looking off to the right. "...Dark Cutie Mark Crusaders, assemble!" Twilight said.

"What the..." Was all Candence could say before suddenly three very familiar fillies who suddenly had cutie marks and looked much different popped out of nowhere.

"Dark Apple Bloom!" Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Dark Sweetie Belle!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"Dark Scootaloo!" Dark Scootaloo said.

"AND WE ARE THE DARK CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS, YEAH!" The three fillies said at once.

"APPLE BLOOM!" Applejack yelled before going dark.

"SWEETIE BELLE!" Rarity said before going dark.

"Sc-scootaloo..." Rainbow Dash said before going dark.

"No..." Fluttershy said before going dark.

"This...this can't be happening..." Pinkie Pie said before going dark.

"What...on equestria..." Sunset said before going dark.

"This...is no act..." Trixie said before going dark.

"The CMC have already joined the darkness; willingly might I add. They have met with great benifits." Twilight spoke. "And you...you can join them too." Twilgiht said. "And me. Together, we can show that darkness has it's benifits, and be friends forever!" Twilight said. "All you have to do...is join us." Twilight said.

"We...will join you..." all the elements said.

"Excellent." Twilight said as Sombra converted them next. Each one enjoyed similar bunifits to the Dark CMC, and thus, became the Dark Elements of Harmony. "And now..." Twilight brought out the elements of harmony besides her own. "I believe these are yours, my friends." Twilight said and fastened them onto necklaces before handing each one out. "Dark Applejack representing Honesty. Dark Pinkie Pie, representing Laughter..." Twilght began. "Dark Rarity, representing generosity. Dark Rainbow Dash representing Loyalty. Dark Fluttershy Representing Kindness..." Twilight continued. "Dark Sunset Shimmer, representing Empathy. And finally, Dark Trixie Lunamoon, representing Forgiveness." Twilight finished the count off. "Each of you represents a part of friendship, and now you will use those abilities to convince others to join willingly." Twilight said. She noticed the night approuching. "It's growing late...everyone turn in for the day." Twilight said. Everypony retired to rooms in the castle.

"So...that's what you were referring to..." Sombra said as Twilight put Cadence and Shining Armor in the dungeon for the time being. "...But why wait on your foalsitter and brother?" Sombra asked.

"Simple...they aren't one hundred percent broken yet. They need to realize they are not in a dream." Twilight said.

"Ah. I see. Still, so much has been done in a single day...everything has been progressing to your plans exactly. For the most part." Sombra said.

"While Candence and Shining Armor coming to us was unexpected, I did have plans to deal with them eventually. And the crystal empire too. They just saved me the trouble is all." Twilight said. Sombra couldn't help but chuckle.

"Once again, you surprise me..." Sombra said. "I can hardly wait until tomorrow." He added with a grin.

"Me too. That's when the real corruption begins." Twilight said before giving off an evil laugh before being joined by Sombra this time.

Sombra had to admit, Twilight has proven herself and then some; he figures if she keeps this up, she'll be his queen before the week is through just like she said she would.

Episode 12 - Dark Ponyville Part 1

Beginning of Dark Ponyville Ark

It was night time all across Equestria. Many ponies were sleeping, but two fillies were finding it hard to go to sleep. Well...at lest one of them is which is keeping the other one up. Diamond Tiara was looking a photo of Apple Bloom longingly; pain filled her heart.

"It's all my fault...I should've never have pushed things this far..." Diamond Tiara said. "I can only hope they forgive me...all three of those girls..." She said. "I was only trying to help..." Diamond Tiara said, tears forming in her eyes.

"Help? What are you talking about Diamond Tiara?" Silver Spoon asked.

"It's...not important!" Diamond Tiara said before putting the picture away. "Good night Silver Spoon. Tomorrow we rescue the Cutie Mark Crusaders." She added before getting to sleep.

"Don't you mean the blank flanks?" Silver Spoon asked. Diamond Tiara was already fast asleep. Silver Spoon shrugged. "I just don't get this mare sometimes..." She added before getting some sleep herself.

In Diamond Tiara's dream, the magenta filly was picking the lock on a cell door containing the captured CMC while the Elements of Harmony were keeping a very evil looking pony at bay; Twilight was inside the cell with them.

"Quick, Twilight you need to go join your friends and stop the evil pony!" Diamond Tiara said to Twilight.

"Thank you." Twilight said and left to join the others. Diamond Tiara turned to the CMC.

"Girls...about what I've done and said...I..." Diamond Tiara was then dog pilled by the CMC.

"We think we get it." Sweetie Belle said.

"Yeah. And after saving us? Of course we forgive you!" Scootaloo said.

"So don't worry too much about it." Apple Bloom said. Diamond Tiara shed a tear.

"Girls..." Diamond Tiara said. Silver Spoon appeared.

"So...you were just..." Silver Spoon said.

"Silver Spoon, please...I wanted to be with Apple Bloom, but I knew mother wouldn't let me unless she had a cutie mark. So I pushed her. I pushed all of them. And look where that was getting me." Diamond Tiara said. "And if your going to continue your bullying of them, then I will defend them." She said.

"Then...I guess I'm sorry too." Silver Spoon said.

"One more group hug before we all get out of here?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"Sure!" Sweetie Belle said.

"Yeah, let's leg it while the elements take care of everything." Scootaloo said.

"Ah really would like you to help me earn ma cutie mark, Deets." Apple Bloom said. The five fillies soon hugged but then the dream was interuppted by Princess Luna.

"...Really, Princess Luna?" Diamond Tiara said. "Look, I get I've done some bad things but..." She was silenced with a hoof to her mouth.

"...One's dreams tell all to me." Luna said. "But you must go with caution: The elements have yet to return from that dreaded castle." She said.

"Oh no...you mean their captured too?!" Diamond Tiara said.

"In a way. Your enemy is going to be the Tyrant Sombra." Luna said. "It seems he's corrupted Twilight, and I'm willing to bet the elements as well as the CMC too." Luna said.

"No! They can't be! I won't let them be!" Diamond Said, enraged. A vision suddenly appeared in the dreamscape, it was of a grown up Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara deeply in love with one another. "Not when my entire happiness is at stake!" The young Diamond Tiara said.

"...Thoust are very passionate about thy's fantasies..." Luna said. "But do thoust thinkith it will be as easy as thy thinks?" She asked.

"Maybe not...but I've got to try!" Diamond Tiara said. "For the sake of my happiness...I will rescue the CMC, the Elements, and apologize to the former. I want to be together with Apple Bloom until the day I die." She added.

"Thou's love for the famer filly is very strong...I have not felt such strength in a belief since Cadence's wedding with Shining Armor." Luna said. "Thoust believe that thy happiness is inevitable, and holds very strongly in that belief." She added.

"It's the only thing that's holding me together right now. I have to save Apple Bloom before Sombra corrupts her; I must!" Diamond said.

"Then I will wish you the best of luck in your endeavor; may fortune favor you, young one." Luna said and left.

"...I don't need Fortune to save Apple Bloom, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt..." Diamond Tiara said in the now empty void.

Dark Apple Bloom was dancing in a wedding gown with a dark version of Diamond Tiara. Both were teenagers.

"Oh Deets...I'm so glad you decided to willingly join the Darkness." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"To be with you forever...I'd willingly do anything." Dark Diamond Tiara said. Suddenly the dream ended as Dark Apple Bloom was turned to normal.

"Huh?" Dark Apple Bloom was confused. "What the heck happened? Luna can't invade our dreams; his majesty made sure of that!" She asked. Suddenly she noticed Diamond Tiara's door nearby and looked in it, seeing the real Diamond Tiara's dream before it too was interrupted. "...She pushed us because she loves me? Episode 13 - Dark Ponyville Part 2

Twilight was looking through the Telescope as the sun rose on Equestria. "What's this?" She asked. Sombra soon joined her, yawning.

"Morning Twilight..." Sombra said.

"Sombra...we're going to have more company soon." Twilight said.

"Huh? Whose coming now? Is it Celestia and Luna?" Sombra asked.

"No..." Twilight said. "It's those two bullies; Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon." She said. "I'm not about to let them ruin my plans; fillies or not." Twilight said stomping her hooves. "DARK CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS, ASSEMBLE!" She yelled. The Dark CMC soon joined Twilight and Sombra on the Observation platform.

"You rang, Twilight?" Dark Sweetie Belle asked.

"I have a task for the three of you." Twilight said.

"Name it, and we'll take care of it." Dark Scootaloo said.

"I want you to stop Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon from reaching the castle." Twilight said.

"That won't be nessesary." Dark Apple Bloom said. Twilight looked at Dark Apple Bloom with a confused look but also an angry one.

"After how much those two bullied you?!" Twilight exclaimed, a hint of anger in her voice. Suddenly, Dark Apple Bloom leaned Twilight down and whispered in the purple alicorn's ear. "...Really?" Twilight asked, her expression changed to one of intrigue.

"Ah'm not lying." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Your certain of this?" Twilight asked.

"Cross my heart hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Dark Apple Bloom said, going through the motions.

"Well that changes things. I was planning on going after those two much later then this, but if one of them is going to be so eager once she sees the three of you..." Twilight let an evil grin plaster onto her face. "Then I leave this to you." She added.

"You can count on us, Twilight!" Dark Apple Bloom said. The threesome were heading into the castle to get ready.

"Spill it, Apple Bloom...what's going on?" Dark Scootaloo said. Forcing the others into a huddle, Apple Bloom gave in great detail what she witnessed last night in the dreamscrape, causing the others to grin. "Really?" Dark Scootaloo asked. Dark Apple Bloom nodded.

"Then this is going to be her punishment: We're gonna make her join us instead her saving us!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"DARK CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS OPERATION DARK DIAMOND TIARA!" The Dark CMC all shouted at once.

"C'mon, we can't be that much further from the throne room." Diamond Tiara said to her friend.

"Why are you so intent on helping the blank flanks anyways? Unless..." Silver Spoon said. Diamond Tiara's eyes became pinpricks.

Has she figured me out? Has she managed to figure out I love Apple Bloom? Diamond Tiara thought to herself worringly.

"...Your rescuing them so that you can turn them into our servants!" Silver Spoon suddenly said. Diamond Tiara couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

"Y-yeah...that's it. That's totally it..." Diamond Tiara said, hoping Silver Spoon wouldn't call her out. They reached the large double doors.

"...You sighed in relief just then..." Silver Spoon said. Diamond Tiara's eyes became pinpricks again. "Your hiding something...aren't you?" She asked.

"Uh...no! No!" Diamond Tiara said, turning around and starting to back away from her best friend.

"Admit it, you've got some other super secret plan going on that you don't think I'll approve of." Silver Spoon said as Diamond Tiara forced the big doors open as she backed away from Silver Spoon.

"No! I..." Diamond Tiara didn't get the chance to answer before she noticed Twilight. "...Look! It's Princess Twilight! And she's uncorrupted! We're not too late after all!" Diamond Tiara said. Silver Spoon rolled her eyes and rolled with it.

"Right...hello Princess." Silver Spoon said.

"Hello Diamond Tiara...Silver spoon." Twilight said. "...Three very specific fillies have been waiting for your arrival." She added. The duo blinked.

"They...they have?" Diamond Tiara said, feeling her heart skip a beat. This was all too good to be true. And as soon as the Dark CMC came out of hiding, she found out she couldn't be more right. "No..." She said, suddenly going VERY dark. "No no no no no no no no no!" She said, breaking down into tears. "I'm too late...I'm just too late..." She said, sobbing.

"Diamond Tiara?!" Silver Spoon exclaimed.

"I couldn't save her...I couldn't save Apple Bloom...I'm too late..." Diamond Tiara said, tears flowing down her face. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...I never should have pushed you three this far." She was speaking to the Dark CMC.

"Diamond...?" Silver Spoon backed away from her friend. She had a feeling Diamond Tiara was hiding something from her, but this? This was a little much.

"But now...now I'm too late..." Diamond Tiara said. "Your corrupted...I couldn't save you..." She said. "I don't know what to live for anymore..." Diamond Tiara said, tears continuing to flow. Dark Apple Bloom suddenly grabbed a hoof of Diamond's.

"You can join us." Dark Apple Bloom suggested. This caused Diamond Tiara to stare at her crush in disbelief.

"After...after everything I've done?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"I...may have seen your dream last night..." Dark Apple Bloom said. "So...yeah. I'm sure." She added. Diamond Tiara felt tears of joy coming on now.

"Then...for you...for my happiness..." Diamond Tiara said before she hugged Dark Apple Bloom. "...I'll do it. I'll join you. And then we can be together forever." Diamond Tiara said.

"Diamond Tiara, stop this before--" Silver Spoon was too late; it was already happening. Without Sombra needing to be there, Diamond Tiara suddenly changed forms; becoming Dark Diamond Tiara and her Tiara even changing to match.

"I feel..." Dark Diamond Tiara said before she opened her eyes. "Complete. Whole." She added. "This isn't corruption...it's just my inner darkness." She said. "I am one with the darkness within!" She announced with a smile.

Silver Spoon looked on helplessly at her friend. Now her best friend had joined the dark side...

Episode 14 - Dark Ponyville - Part 3

Silver Spoon was not having a very good day right now. First, her best friend starts caring for former blank flanks (as the Dark CMC have their cutie marks now). Second, when Silver Spoon starts to confront her best friend about it, Diamond Tiara starts to withdraw from her questions. Third, when it become clear to Silver Spoon why Diamond Tiara was caring so much, she starts to question her friendship with Diamond Tiara. But probably the most shocking revaluation of all, is how eager Diamond Tiara had become to want to join the dark side after seeing Dark Apple Bloom.

Now Silver Spoon didn't know what to think: Her best friend had been hiding a secret crush from her all this time. What's more, now her best friend had joined the dark side. And to make matters worse, the change in Diamond Tiara's form was granted to her without this Sombra guy present. The last of which confused Twilight as well. And speaking of the tyrant, King Sombra soon entered the throne room.

"Oh? Twilight did you do that?" Sombra asked, motioning to Dark Diamond Tiara.

"No...I did not..." Twilight said. "So strange..." She said. "This makes things more interesting and will make things move much quicker if this is a byproduct of the Dark CMC being changed by your Dark Magic." Twilight said.

"Oh? How so?" Sombra asked, eager to learn.

"If what's to happen next happens...then you shall see..." Twilight.

"Diamond Tiara...why..." Silver Spoon said. "Why did you..." She said, scared and confused.

"Why did I hide my love for Apple Bloom you may ask?" Dark Diamond Tiara said. "I'll tell you why; that no good pain in the rump that I have as a biological mother would never approve of me having a crush on a 'blank flank'." She said. "But I never cared about that. I just wanted Apple Bloom and me to be together forever." Dark DT continued. "But I'm done hiding my love for Apple Bloom." She pointed out. "And I'm done being the child of Spoiled Rich!" Dark DT concluded.

"Wow...Diamond's been waiting to explain that one..." Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"But then...why'd you attack me and Sweetie Belle too?" Dark Scootaloo asked.

"Do you even have to ask? My mother hates all those that have no cutie marks yet." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "Well I'm done being her child if it means I will never be able to live happily ever after with my Apple Bloom. I'll live on the streets if I must, but I ain't ever going back to Spoiled Rich!" She added.

"In that case, Dark Diamond Tiara..." Twilight said. "If King Sombra here approves, then you can live under his roof alongside me, your friends, and your love." She added. "All Sombra has to do is approve." Twilight turned to Sombra.

"Well, since she is so willing to embrace her inner darkness so long as she is with her love, then I don't see a problem with what you have proposed, Twilight." Sombra said.

"Thank you, your highness." Dark Diamond Tiara said eagerly. "And now Silver Spoon..." She turned to her friend. "It's your turn to join us..." She added.

"Wh-what?!" Silver Spoon was caught off guard.

"Don't make this difficult would you?" Dark Diamond Tiara said. "You know you'll be lost without me." She added. Silver Spoon shuddered in deep fear. She knew Dark Diamond Tiara was right: Without DT's guidance, Silver Spoon was less then nothing; she would be better off as a blank flank then living a life being overlooked constantly by her peers. Really, Diamond Tiara gave Silver Spoon a purpose, a reason to exist. With that gone...Silver Spoon was a nobody. Silver Spoon suddenly went Dark.

"I am lost..." Silver Spoon admitted. "I'm a nobody...a lost soul...forever wondering searching for a purpose..." She added.

"But you don't have to be that way." Dark Diamond Tiara said and reached a hoof our to her friend. "Embrace the Darkness within, and you'll never be alone again. Ever." Dark DT said. Silver Spoon began to reach towards her best friend.

"Before...that..." Silver Spoon started. "One time...just one time before I join...please..." She asked. Dark Diamond Tiara knew what her friend meant.

"Bump bump..." Dark Diamond Tiara began.

"Sugar lump rump!" Silver Spoon said before she hugged her best friend in joy; and that is when she too changed without Sombra's magic.

"Whoa!" Sombra was shocked.

"Just as I thought...the already converted can convert others without either of us needing to assist them." Twilight said with a smile. "This is even better then my plans suggested; nay; it exceeds my previous plan!" She added with an evil smile on her face as Dark Silver Spoon opened her eyes.

"I don't feel any different but at the same time..." Dark Silver Spoon started. "I feel alive! I feel good! And I no longer feel afraid!" She added excitedly.

"That's the spirit Dark Silver Spoon." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "Now come on, let's all go have some fun in Ponyville~" She added.

"Oh I'm liking this idea..." Dark Scootaloo said.

"Yeah, me too!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"Then we are all in agreement..." Dark Apple Bloom began soon joined by the other four in a cheer.

"DARK CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS PONYVILLE CONVERTERS, YEAH!" The five fillies cheered together; the former bullies turned into Dark CMC members alongside the original CMC, though no change was made to their cutie marks. The Dark CMC all ran off together.

"So...your saying that those that have already embraced their inner darkness that have been changed into their better forms by me or someone similar, they can access that magic without us being near?" Sombra asked.

"That is my theory, yes. This leaves us to focus on more important key figures; such as my brother and my sister-in-law. It's been long enough, it is time to confront them." Twilight said. King Sombra laughed.

"I must admit, your worth is getting more and more tempting to me as we continue..." King Sombra said. "If your brother and Candence's conversions go well, life as my queen awaits you." He added.

"I will not disappoint you, King Sombra." Twiilght said.

Has all hope been lost at this point?

Episode 15 - Dark Ponyville Part 4

Twilight was bowing before King Sombra once again.

"This is my final test for you, Twilight Sparkle." Sombra said. "Pass it, and you will join my side as my queen. Fail, and you may or may not get to live past it." He added. "And I warn you: Expectations for you are going to be quite high." Sombra finished.

"I am ready for your final test for me, your highness." Twilight said. "And I promise you, I won't fail. I would sooner rather die then fail you now." She said. Sombra smiled.

"Your determination, your desires, and your mind have all brought you to this point. Now, it's time for your heart to finish things for you. It's time to find out if you truly can be as ruthless as me. I will not accept anything less then both Cadence and Shining Armor willingly joining our side. One or the other won't be enough; they both must accept. And you must do this by yourself." Sombra said.

"Don't worry...I am prepared." Twilight said. "I've studied them both well; I'll break their spirits and make them see no other way." She added. "So provided something doesn't interrupt us, we should have both Cadence and Shining Armor in our ranks before the day is through. I may have to rough them up a bit first though." Twilight finished.

"That is fine; I only ask that the end result is the same. My hope is that nothing stops us." Sombra said.

Being dragged to the throne room is not something neither Shining Armor or Cadence was happy about; but it seems to them that nothing really has been a dream: Twilight really has been corrupted by Sombra, and the tyrant is using her against them, knowing that they can't go all out against Twilight, least they kill the purple alicorn by accident. And she was more powerful then both of them combined, so using her against the two of them; knowing the best they could bring themselves to do was try to knock the purple alicorn unconscious in a best case scenario, while not doing much else. Unfortunately, the unicorn and alicorn couple were just not powerful enough to overcome Twilight in that way. And Sombra must know this somehow; why else would he have gone out of his way to corrupt Twilight like this?

They were brought fourth to Twilight and Sombra shortly. Twilight was the first to speak.

"So, have you realized yet that this isn't a dream? That your in the real world and not some Saturday morning cartoon?" Twilight asked, grinning evilly.

"All I know...is that your corrupt...and we need to save you!" Shining Armor said. Twilight gave a sigh.

"What part of that 'I'm doing this willingly' was not made clear to you by my friends?" Twilight asked.

"Well...then...er..." Shining couldn't think of a retort, growing distant.

"That's what I thought." Twilight said. "So, still think your in a Saturday morning cartoon? Or are you ready to face reality?" Twilight asked.

"Twilight...why?" Cadence asked. "If your really not corrupted; hard as it may be for us to believe; I must know why..." She added.

"Very well. I suppose you should know: I joined Sombra's side willingly because I was worried about my friendships now that I am a princess with a castle of my own." Twilight said. "It's that simple. Ever since I became an Alicorn Princess, I was beginning to worry my friends would begin to grow distant from me, choosing instead to find someone else to hang out with. Sure, I was wrong, but my doubts returned when I got my new castle and stronger then before. To top things off, I started dreaming of Sombra here." Twilight explained, turning towards the tyrant. "I thought this was strange; as the dreams started up way back when I first became a princess. As if something was luring me towards him. But then, 8 days ago when I got my new castle, the dreams became more vivid...more real. It felt as if that if I didn't do something; anything at all; to perserve my friendships, then I would wind up all alone forever. And that's when my mind returned to dreaming of Sombra once more. I knew right then and there, that the solution to my problem has been in my mind the whole time." Twilight continued. "Now here I stand before you, having successfully cemented the friendships with the other elements permanently. But that's not all I wish to do. No. Why stop with my friends? Why not use the darkness inside of me and my friends to cause friendship to bloom across the world. I know now how to do my task as the princess of friendship the best: I must become a queen of darkness so that friendship never dies." Twilight finished. This caused Shining Armor to go dark and Cadence to grow distant.

"But...that's not true...you and the girls...you would never grow so far apart..." Cadence said.

"I'm not so sure it could've turned out all sunshine and rainbows." Twilight said and now Cadence grew dark. "Nothing in the future is certain. But now? Now I know how I can garentee things. Now I know what I must do to make sure no one is friendless. And there's a chance others can become more." Twilight explained. "Join us in this endeavor, and you'll never have to worry about the happiness of the crystal empire; never have to worry about falling out of love with one another and Cadence can still spread love." She offered.

"We...we accept your offer..." Shining Armor said. "L.S.B.F.F." He added.

"So long as as you guarantee the things you have said...we accept..." Cadence said.

"Don't worry my brother and step sister..." Twilight said as Sombra started to change them. "...I know I can." Twilight added as Dark Shining Armor and Dark Cadence were born.

Elsewhere, the Tree of Harmony turned dark; but not a bad kind of dark.

Episode 16 - Dark Ponyville Part 5

Shining Armor and Cadence left for the Crystal Empire shortly after their willing conversion. Twilight couldn't help but smile an evil yet happy smile. She had done it. She had passed Sombra's test.

"You've done very well Twilight. You may..." Sombra said before he was interrupted by an emergency entrance from the royal sisters. "NOT AGAIN!" Sombra said.

"Damn it..." Twilight said. This is not good...the elements need time to adjust to being the Dark Elements of Harmony before we can properly use them; I've got no choice, I have to subdue them.

"Sombra, release Twilight and those you have corrupted at once!" Celestia said. "And maybe...just maybe...we won't kill you this time." She added.

"And that's a big maybe." Luna said.

"Of course you won't kill him..." Twilight said. "Because I will be making sure you don't!" She added before doing battle with the royal sisters. Try as they might, they couldn't best Twilight; they were just as useless as Shining Armor and Cadence.

"Retreat, fall back dear sister!" Luna said, realizing they weren't getting anywhere.

"We'll be back Sombra." Celestia said, and left with Luna.

"Dammit...they got away." Twilight said. Sombra put a hoof on her.

"It's fine, Twilight. Let them flee and lick their wounds." Sombra said. Twilight turned to her king.

"Sombra? I don't understand why..." Twilight said before she was cut off by a kiss from Sombra, which shut her up.

"Shh...it's okay my dear. I know you have a plan for dealing with those two. I've placed my faith in your plans, and they have exceeded all of my expectations." Sombra said. "Never before have I seen such dedication, such fire, such strength. You are everything I could've ever asked for in a queen." He said. "Now, step before me, Twilight." Sombra said. Twilight did so at once, but before she could bow... "No...you do not have to bow before me this time." Sombra said.

"A-as you wish, your highness..." Twilight said.

"Just Sombra will be fine. Though if you want to call me your husband well...you've more then earned the right." Sombra said. Twilight's ears perked up.

"Does...does this mean...?" Twilight asked.

"Make no mistake, you may be becoming my queen, but I will have overall command. But I trust you enough to the point that I won't step over your toes. Your plans have so far been very well thought out, and for the most part, have gone the way you have expected. There have only been two hiccups to speak of, and neither I can really blame you for. Besides when the hiccups did arrive, you adapted and triumphed over them." Sombra said. "So I have full confidence in your plans and how you are executing them, which you are doing to the best of your abilities. And really, that's all I've asked since the beginning; you've just been so good in the execution of your plans that you have far exceeded all expectations I had." He added. "In conclusion, you have erased any and all doubts I've had and then some. You are beyond worthy to become my queen." Sombra said before utilizing the complete version of the spell he used on Twilight at the beginning, making Twilight become Dark Queen Twilight permanently. In her Dark Queen form, Twilight was just as tall as Celestia, had a flowing mane, wore dark regalia, her horn was longer, and her wings were bigger.

"Ah how I've missed this." Dark Queen Twilight said before going up to Sombra and giving him a loving kiss. "But now that it's back, we can be more of an item, Sombra. And I would love that just as much as maintaining my friendships." DQT said. Sombra smiled and kissed back.

"Heh...indeed. And I'll admit, your beauty and brain both have piqued my interest beyond belief. Here's hoping we don't get interrupted during our moment." Sombra said.

Meanwhile, the Dark CMC have already converted the entire Ponyville Elementrary and were currently meeting up in the playground to take a quick break.

"This is a lot of fun." Dark Silver Spoon said. "Is this the kind of thing you three did to get your cutie marks?" She asked.

"Oh you bet; though most of the time we also got covered in Tree Sap." Dark Scootaloo confirmed, but got embarrassed at the end.

"I ask you how origami gets one covered in Tree Sap; how I ask you?!" Dark Sweetie Belle exclaimed. The girls all laughed.

"But hey, the important thing is we're friends now, and we enjoy being friends." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "So really, I say the sky's the limit." She added.

"You said it!" Dark Apple Bloom said.

"DIAMOND TIARA?!" A female voice known all to well to Diamond Tiara shouted.

"...Mother..." Diamond Tiara said.

Episode 17 - Dark Ponyville Part 6

"Diamond Tiara, just what happened to you?!" Diamond Tiara's Mother; one Spoiled Rich; suddenly exclaimed upon seeing her daughter.

"Hello mother, aka Spoiled rich." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "And what happened to me is that I got tired of trying to seek your approval; you were never going to let me be happy." She added.

"Now listen here young lady..." Spoiled Rich began.

"No! You listen here mother: I am through with you! You can cut me out of your will or keep me from the family fortune. I no longer care about either." Dark Diamond Tiara suddenly grabbed Dark Apple Bloom and pulled the farm girl close. "There's only one thing I care about now: Being together with Apple Bloom for the rest of my life." Dark DT said.

"Diamond Tiara, stop this foolish talk right now and get away from these lowlifes. They are clearly a bad influence on you." Spoiled Rich said.

"EXCUSE ME?! OH THAT DOES IT!" Dark Diamond Tiara yelled, before suddenly starting to approach her mother angerly. "You can treat me like crap, you can give me lessons I don't care for, and you can teach me proper etiquette. But when you attack my friends and call them such mean and hurtful names, that's where I draw the line!" Dark Diamond Tiara said. "It's like I thought: Living under your roof is going to cause me nothing but sadness." She added before she took her tiara off. "Well...here's what I think about you and everything you've had me stand for." Dark DT said before she threw her tiara into a batch of mud. "That's what I think about you, and everything you stand for. It's no longer the kind of person I want to be." Dark Diamond Tiara finished. Spoiled Rich had gone dark, and looked on in complete and total silence.

"...What is that all your gonna say?" Dark Scootaloo asked. "Or did your own daughter just give you a giant wake up call?" She added.

"I'm willing to bet she did, and it was awesome!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"And we are behind her one hundred percent." Dark Silver Spoon said.

"Especially me." Apple Bloom rounded out the choras. Spoiled Rich, for the first time in her life, felt control slipping out of her hooves. She was so used to being in control, that now that she's not in control, she couldn't feel more colder, or scared, or lonely.

"Wh-what have I done wrong..." Spoiled Rich said. "I can't live like this; I must not live like this!" She yelled and ran off.

"Where the hell is she going?!" Dark Diamond Tiara said. "I'm not done with her yet!" She growled.

"Forget her, Deets." Dark Apple Bloom said. "Let's finish up here at the School." She added.

"Yeah. Your right. Someone else will get her eventually." Dark Diamond Tiara said with an evil grin.

Yeah I essentially had an entire chapter dedicated to Dark Diamond Tiara doing to Spoiled Rich almost exactly like what normal DT did in the original timeline: Rip her mother a new one. It was one of my favorite moments from the show, and I can't get enough of it either.

Episode 18 - Dark Ponyville Part 7

Spoiled Rich rushed home from the lashing her own daughter gave her, curling up on the couch before starting to cry in anguish. To hear her own daughter say such things to her own mother...not only did it not seem like the child she had been raising, but it had caused Spoiled Rich to start questioning her own sanity. This was the sight Filthy Rich; her husband; walked in on.

"D-darling!" Spoiled Rich said before he rushed to his wife's side. "Dear, what happened? What's going on?" He asked.

"It's our daughter sweetie..." Spoiled Rich said. "I...I don't know what happened to her...it's like she's been brainwashed by some dark force!" She added. "I know my child...no way in the world would she say such...horrid things. someone must have forced her to say such things. That's the only explanation." She said before she stopped being so distant. Spoiled Rich hugged his wife.

"Don't worry dear. Maybe she just needs some time. After all, that mysterious castle that appeared and the Everfree forest having been changed might have made her snap to a degree." Filthy Rich said. Suddenly Spoiled Rich's eyes shot open.

"That's it! That mysterious castle from the forest!" Spoiled Rich said. "Maybe that has something to do with all this!" She said before packing a few things and starting to leave.

"Wh-where do you think your going?" Filthy Rich asked.

"To get my daughter back, that's what!" Spoiled Rich said. Suddenly Filthy Rich got saddle bags on too.

"Not alone your not; I'm going with you!" Filthy Rich said. Spoiled Rich smiled.

"Thank you, dear." Spoiled Rich said. The duo left at once.

"...What on earth?" Sombra said, looking through Twilight's telescope; the purple alicorn not with him this time. "What do those two earth ponies think their up to, coming this way?" Sombra asked. "I better talk with Twilight about this..." He added and left the Observation Deck

Dark Twilight was currently giving Dark Trixie a hug to accept the showmare's forgiveness. "Of course I forgive you Dark Trixie. I would not have wanted to become friends with you, had I not forgiven you." Dark Twilight said.

"Th-thank you so much, Dark Twilight." Dark Trixie said.

"Looks like she got to apologize after all..." Dark Applejack said.

"So Dark Twi...about the whole...verbal attacking thing...your not gonna do that to us again, are you?" Dark Rainbow Dash asked.

"Nope. I only did it to make sure you girls knew how much I was worried about everything we've been through eventually tearing us apart." Dark Twilight said.

"You could've just talked to us about it you know..." Dark Fluttershy said.

"But what if something really challenged us? What if something came up and it challenged our friendship in such a way, that we'd never be able to be friends anymore?" Dark Twilight asked. "I couldn't risk it..." She added.

"We understand darling; you were scared. You were afraid." Dark Rarity said. "It's our fault for not reaching out to you just as much as it's yours for not reaching out to us." She added.

"You always did bring up good points, Dark Rarity." Dark Twilight said, smiling now.

"So...when everyone is friends with one another, should I throw a mega huge 'everyone is friends' party?" Dark Pinkie Pie asked. Everyone could not help but laugh at that.

"Same old Pinkie Pie..." Dark Twilight said.

"I know right? It's so wierd..." Dark Sunset said. Sombra came in.

"Sombra, what's wrong?" Dark Twilight asked.

"Two Earth Ponies are headed for the Castle." Sombra said.

"They won't make it." Dark Twilight said before using her magic. "...Dark CMC, I request your assistance; two earth ponies are approaching the castle. Covert them." Dark Twilight relayed.

At the Ponyville Playground the Dark CMC smiled wicked smiles and headed off to deal with the two trouble makers while the other students plus Cheerilee began to covert the rest of Ponyville.

Episode 19 - Dark Ponyville Part 8

"We're almost there." Filthy Rich said, as he and his wife Spoiled Rich arrived at the overlook for the mysterious new castle that appeared.

"If there's one good thing about this area, it's that we can safely walkthrough here without fear of any of the creatures." Spoiled Rich said. Suddenly a Timberwolf appeared out a nearby bush before it ran off out of fear. "...I spoke too soon..." Spoiled Rich said.

"Wonder what spooked that one? Had to be something serious for it to run that fast." Filthy Rich. Suddenly, out of nowhere the Dark CMC arrived.

"Mother. And Father." Dark Diamond Tiara spoke up. "When Dark Queen Twilight informed us two earth ponies were approaching the Castle of Darkness, I was really hopping it was Big Mac and Granny Smith. I really did." Dark DT said.

"Especially since me and Deets are going to be going to them soon anyways." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Diamond Tiara, you really need to get away from these hooligans." Spoiled Rich said.

"Excuse me?" Filthy Rich said, recognizing the yellow earth filly.

"Of course you WOULD call Dark Apple Bloom that. Not even realizing who she IS." Dark Sweetie Belle said. "Or did you forget Family Appreciation Day? The Apple Family is the key to your family's fortune." She added.

"Well...I'm...sure there are other money outlets..." Spoiled Rich said.

"Oh I wouldn't be so sure about that..." Dark Scootaloo said.

"In fact, why don't you ask your own husband?" Dark Silver Spoon asked. Spoiled Rich turned to her husband, who was very angry with his wife. "...I'm going to assume that means no." Dark Silver Spoon said.

"Thing is though, as much as I despise you mother, Father is not entirely without his faults either." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"Wh-what?!" Filithy Rich said.

"Here comes a news flash: I've had a crush on Apple Bloom this entire time. But I knew that without a cutie mark, father would never approve of her. So I tried to push her. And I ended up pushing her away without meaning to. I was worried I would never get to be with the apple of my eye." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "Luckily for me, Dark Apple Bloom and her friends were quick to forgive me after I laid out my feelings. What I'm trying to say here, is that I'm attracted to mares and have fallen in love with Apple Bloom." She explained.

"Wh-what?!" Filthy Rich was taken aback by the fact that his own daughter just admitted she was gay.

"But I'm willing to bet it doesn't matter; knowing my father, he'd rather I would've fallen in love with a colt so I could sire him children. Well there's no telling what might happen in the future; for all we know, someone could come up with a spell that would allow couples like me and apple bloom to have kids without the need of a male." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "And if Dark Apple Bloom wants, I would love to have kids with her. She's the mare for me, and if I be left out of the will in order to marry her, I don't care." Diamond Tiara said before suddenly she took off the diamond tiara from her head. "Think I didn't know what this is? You really think I couldn't tell father?" Dark Diamond Tiara said before she suddenly smashed the tiara on the ground; revealing it to be nothing but a big fat phony. "IT'S FAKE; JUST LIKE THE LOVE YOU AND MOTHER WERE WILLING TO SHOW ME. EVERYTHING I THOUGHT I KNEW WAS A LIE!" Dark Diamond Tiara said. "So no more! I'm done being your daughter if it means I can never be together with Apple Bloom. At least she will treat me the way you two should have this entire time. I know she and her friends will." She finally finished. The rest of the Dark CMC came into a group hug.

"You tell them, Diamond!" Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"Best. Confession. Ever!" Dark Scootaloo said.

"I most certainly and do whole heartedly agree." Dark Silver Spoon said. Dark Apple Bloom smiled and kissed her marefriend.

"And ah'm very willing to give our relationship a try, Deets." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Thanks everypony; especially you, Dark Apple Bloom." Dark Diamond Tiara said, emphasizing the last part with a kiss to Dark Apple Blooms lips. The kiss right there in front of both Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich was enough to make them both go dark. "I'm not heartless: You can be a part of Dark Queen Twilight's staff for the castle and try to salvage your relationship with me." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "So what do you both say?" She asked.

Mr. and Mrs. Rich were converted without a word needing to be said. Meanwhile, Ponyville was around 75% converted, meaning it has now fallen. It has become...Dark Ponyville!

Episode 20 - Dark Endgame Part 1

Beginning of Dark Endgame Story ark

"This is really bad Lulu..." Celestia said to her sister Luna. "First I lose contact with Twilight, then I lose all contact with Spike, then I lose all contact with Twilight's friends and the other element holders; alongside that Trixie girl as well as Sunset Shimmer who was my student before Twilight; and now I've lost contact with Ponyville..." Celestia said, tears falling from her eyes.

"The tyrant King Sombra has been quite effective at his work. If we must, we must prepare for defensive measures." Luna said. To which Celestia nodded.

Meanwhile, Big Mac and Granny Smith had just suffered a lot of verbal backlash from Dark Diamond Tiara and Dark Apple Bloom at the start, before Dark Applejack showed up and helped the two out with Apple Bloom's brother and grandma.

"Thanks for the help sis." Dark Apple Bloom said, hugging her sister. "Granny was making it super difficult for us to get to both her and Big Mac." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Ah figured as much. That's why I asked Dark Twilight if I could lend ya a hand." Dark Applejack said. She looked at Dark Diamond Tiara.

"Um..." Dark Diamond Tiara swallowed. "...I suppose thanks are in order from me as well. So um...how about I just say thank you; apologize for my past; and you let me make amends for what I've done." Dark Diamond Tiara said. Dark Applejack approached Dark Diamond Tiara; the latter of whom was getting scared now. "...Um...please?" Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"Dark Applejack..." Dark Apple Bloom said.

"Let me make one thing very clear upfront Dark Diamond Tiara..." Dark Applejack started. "Before this, your family was on very--" Dark Applejack said.

"To hell with my biological parents!" Dark Diamond Tiara said out of anger which took Dark Applejack by surprise. "I offered them service under King Sombra and Queen Twilight and you wanna know what they said? They said that they'll 'sleep on it'. Which to me, sounds more like a 'no' then a 'yes' so I want nothing more to do with them." Dark Diamond Tiara said before going over to Dark Apple Bloom and putting a hoof over her lover. "...The only one who matters in my life now is Dark Apple Bloom. No matter what happens from here on out, I will make sure that the apple of my eye is treated with love and respect. Most of all from me." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "And I don't care if you don't approve; neither of us do. We just want to be together forever." She finished.

"That's...a lot of emotion ya just dumped on me, Dark Diamond Tiara." Dark Applejack said. Dark Diamond Tiara's eyes went wide.

"...My...humblest apologies, I didn't mean to go off on you like that. Every time someone mentions my biological parents I just...I tend to just lash out." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"Yeah. Dark Scootaloo learnt that one the hard way too. Though she realized quickly that she struck a nerve." Dark Apple Bloom said as the rest of the Dark CMC soon joined them.

"I suppose we all have our touchy subjects. It's my fault for bringing it up in the first place. So...I apologize as well." Dark Applejack said.

"Meh...it's fine." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "Just please understand one thing: I would sooner feed myself to a hydra then do anything that would dare upset the love of my life and her friends again." She said.

"And if she accidently does, we've agreed to let her off easy." Dark Scootaloo said.

"But just to make sure, we've all agreed to be more open towards one another." Dark Sweetie Belle said. "Which has started by mentioning subjects we just do not like talking about." She added.

"And right now, it's been working perfectly: It's helped the five of us bond in ways one can only dream of." Dark Silver Spoon said.

"You should really try it sometime with your friends." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "It's worked for us. It should work just as well for the eight of you." She added with a smile.

"Plus it'd help bring you all closer together too." Dark Apple Bloom said. Dark Applejack smiled and suddenly went over to Dark Diamond Tiara to ruffle the filly's mane.

"Ya know what, that's not a bad idea Dark Diamond Tiara. Your alright with me, sugarcube. I know you and Apple Bloom are not old enough to be married yet, but I do approve of your relationship. I would also like to consider you part of the Apple Family." Dark Applejack said. Dark Diamond Tiara's eyes went wide.

"M-me? Part of the Apple Family?" Dark Diamond Tiara asked.

"Of course." Dark Applejack said. Suddenly she was hugged by Dark Diamond Tiara who had tears running down her face.

"Thank you...thank you so very, very much! I promise to make sure that I will do everything I can to live up to the forgiveness you have given me..." Dark Diamond Tiara said. "...Sister..." She added. Dark Applejack smiled.

"We're not related by blood, and like I said, you and Dark Apple Bloom are a bit too young to be married." Dark Applejack said.

"I know. But I have a feeling the two of us will become very tight." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"I have the exact same feeling, sugarcube." Dark Applejack said. The two sister in-laws gave one another a hug.

Dark Applejack arrived back with her friends.

"So, Ponyville has mostly been taken care of now." Dark Twilight said. "Which means Canterlot is a stone's throw away." She added.

"Where's Sombra?" Dark Applejack said.

"He is expecting resistance from my former mentor and all of Canterlot." Dark Twilight said. "And I have to agree with him: I don't see a way where the situation can be resolved without force." She admitted. Sombra arrived.

"But doesn't that jeopardize everything you've been doing?" Dark Sunset asked.

"No." Sombra said. "She already planned for this to be the course of action that would most likely be taken." Sombra said.

"And King Sombra had already arrived at the same conclusion I did when it came to Canterlot. At most, only my parents would come to us willingly." Dark Twilight said before taking on her Dark Queen form. "But everyone else in canterlot will need to be forced. There is just no other way." Dark Queen Twilight said.

"Do you need us there?" Dark Pinkie Pie asked.

"If your asking to come with, you may if you want." Dark Queen Twilight said.

"Well do we absolutely need everyone?" Dark Trixie said. Dark Queen Twilight shook her head.

"No. Sombra is making some undead soldiers for the battle ahead." Dark Queen Twilight said.

The final battle looms...

Episode 21 - Dark Endgame Part 2

"...Are you all sure your fine with coming with me?" Dark Twilight asked, the other element bearers following close behind her.

"But of course sugar cube." Dark Applejack said.

"I just hope you know what your doing leaving the Dark CMC in charge of Dark Ponyville." Dark Fluttershy said.

"They'll be fine darling. It's ponyville, so it'll be easy for them." Dark Rarity stated.

"Besides, the five of them can handle themselves what with Dark Cheerlee watching over them." Dark Rainbow Dash said.

"I would've loved to stay behind and plan a 'we helped canterlot embrace the darkness' party, but you gals need me." Dark Pinkie Pie said.

"Plus, it'll be nice to lay it on thick to Princess Celestia for me. Say the things that I really need to say to her personally." Dark Sunset Shimmer said.

"And I am willing to ride this out until it's end; that way I can tell it's story to foals. It'll be a real story about how Dark Trixie and her friends began the Dark Revolution." Dark Trixie said. All the other girls smiled.

"Now that would be a show I'd love to catch." Dark Twilight said. "But we can focus on that later. My brother and his wife decided to get my parents away from all the fighting so that they aren't accidently caught in the crossfires." She added. Sombra showed up.

"Everything is ready. Me and my undead soldiers will distract the royal guard. Meanwhile, you and your friends will use that distraction to sneak into the castle itself and confront the two sisters." Sombra said. "That is your plan, yes?" He asked for clarification.

"Indeed." Dark Twilight said. Thus the distraction began. It didn't take long for Twilight and her friends to arrive into the castle. However, something was bugging her. "...This is strange..." Dark Twilight said. "There's no guards roaming the castle." She said. She and her friends soon arrived to the throne room where they expected to find Celestia and Luna ready for them. What they found there instead was Prince Blueblood and he was already looking distraught. "Prince Blueblood?!" Dark Twilight said, rushing up to the stallion. "What are you doing here? Where is Celestia and Luna?" Dark Twilight demanded.

"They left me..." Prince Blueblood said. "They left me all alone. Aunt Celestia said that she'd be back once everything was over. But have you seen the castle? I was left without even a single royal guard to protect me. They've abandoned me, Twilight..." He explained.

"Oh you poor thing..." Dark Twilight said, wrapping a wing around Prince Blueblood. "I am not like Celestia. And I need someone to oversee Canterlot's operations for when me, my friends, and my husband leave. If you promise to oversee things here for me, then I promise to never abandon you, Blueblood." Dark Twilight said. Prince Blueblood was already dark before she even got her, she could tell from how distraught he looked. Prince Blueblood looked up to Dark Twilight.

"Then...so long as you can promise me to help me find a proper wife in the future...I hearby pledge myself to you, Dark Queen Twilight." Prince Blueblood said, bowing before Dark Twilight. Dark Twilight smiled.

"Then you may join us." Dark Twilight said, and used the same spell that Sombra had been using to covert Prince Blueblood into Dark Blueblood. "As the Dark Queen, I; Dark Twilight Sparkle; hearby appoint you, Dark Blueblood, as the Dark ambassador to Canterlot." Dark Twilight said.

"I accept my position as Dark Ambassador your majesty; may the reign of you and your husband Sombra bring us all together." Dark Blueblood said. Sombra soon joined the lot.

"Dark Twilight, what is going on? Where are the princesses?" Sombra asked.

"They fled this place before we had gotten here, apparently." Dark Twilight said. "But we will find them Sombra. Sooner or later they will run out of places to hid, and then we will confront them." She added.

"Darn, was really hoping to hold a 'we converted the princesses into the dark army' party once we were done with the 'we convinced Canterlot to embrace the darkness' party." Dark Pinkie Pie said.

"I only wish they had told me where they went." Dark Blueblood said. "But I will do my best on my end, your majesties." He added.

"See to it that you do that." Dark Twilight said. Everyone left the castle.

"What a wild ride..." Dark Twilight said. Night had fallen on the world. "I only wish Celestia and Luna had stood their ground. Everything would've been so much easier." Dark Twilight said. Sombra approuched his Queen and nuzzled her.

"There was nothing you could have done. Seems those two sisters are going to be our archrivals from this point forward." Sombra said. "But I'm down for a good hunt. Sooner or later we will find them, my queen." He added.

"Yes my king...we will find them..." Dark Twilight said and kissed Sombra. "...And we when we do, we will make them..." She was saying when suddenly the earth started to shake. "What's happening?" Dark Twilight said.

Elsewhere, a mysterous figure was being sucked through a mysterious vault door...

This is a bonus episode meant to detail what happened in-bewtween Episodes 19 & 20. Also it's short. But it is a bonus episode.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T WANT TO BECOME SERVANTS?!" Dark Diamond Tiara shouted at her parents.

"We'll have an answer for you at some point, dear." Dark Filthy Rich said.

"But for now...me and your father want some time together..." Dark Spoiled Rich said. The duo left.

"FINE! BE THAT WAY! I DON'T EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" Dark Diamond Tiara shouted. She turned around to see Dark Scootaloo cowering. "Oh...I'm sorry...did I scare you Dark Scootaloo?" Dark Diamond Tiara asked.

"Y-yeah...that was scary...please don't pick..." Dark Scootaloo said before she was pulled into a hug by Dark Diamond Tiara.

"There there, Dark Scootaloo. I know you want to be tough, but sometimes we need friends to support us when we do get scared. And admitting that we're scared can be braver then hiding that fact." Dark Diamond Tiara said. Dark Scootaloo smiled and hugged Dark Diamond Tiara back.

"Thanks DT...I needed the pep talk." Dark Scootaloo said, smiling.

"Wow, not even a whole twenty four hours have passed, and the two of you are acting like you've been friends this whole time." Dark Silver Spoon said.

"Well that's because I know what it's like to be scared and not letting it phase you, only to make things worse for yourself." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"You too huh?" Dark Scootaloo asked.

"Yep. In fact, as we walk towards Sweet Apple Acres, we should clear up stuff we shouldn't talk about around each other so we avoid any freakouts." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

"That's not a bad idea, DT." Dark Sweetie Belle said.

"Just what ah'd expect from you, Deets." Dark Apple Bloom said. Dark Diamond Tiara blushed.

"Aw...you guys..." Dark Diamond Tiara said.

The trio arrived at Sweet Apple Acres after a long talk and then Dark Diamond Tiara and Dark Apple Bloom stepped forward.

"You gals should wait out here for a bit. If this takes too long, see if you can call over Dark Applejack." Dark Diamond Tiara said. And thus she and Dark Applebloom began their verbal assults on Big Mac and Granny Smith. However, everytime the duo felt like they were making headway, either Big Mac or Granny Smith would say something encouraging to the other and thus undo the little work Dark Apple Bloom and Dark Diamond Tiara were making.

It seemed there was no end in sight for this, until Dark Applejack arrived...
