Chapter 1

Chapter 1

“Man this is gonna be fun.” I said to myself as I walked into the building that served as the place this years comic-con was being held. I was dressed to the nines as Yen Sid from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia but unfortunately the only thing I was missing from my costume was his iconic hat. As I walked through the convention hall I saw so many stalls and costumes and panels that I jumped when I heard a gravelly voice say

“What’re ya buyin’?” A man standing at a table with various items on it for sale dressed like the shopkeeper from resident evil 4 chuckled as he laughed at his own joke.
“Hey good impression and great costume!” I said once I got my bearings.
“Thanks,” he said, “I’ve been working on it for months. Say you’re supposed to be Yen Sid am I right? Wait right there I have just the thing to finish your look” he then turned and began searching through various boxes and shelves before finally placing the sorcerer’s hat on the table in front of me.
“Hey this is just what I need!! How much?” I asked excitedly trying to find my wallet.
“Normally I’d ask for $50.00 for something this finely crafted but for you…how about $20.00?” He said
“Sold!” I said fishing out the twenty I needed and placing the hat on my head. But soon I began to feel sleepy and fall backwards but instead of hitting the floor I just kept falling.
“Have fun..” the shopkeeper said waving goodbye as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

I slowly began to awaken to the sound of trampling feet and muffled voices when I began to think,

‘Where am I? Last I remember I was falling after buying that hat and-nothing! I know my name and that’s it…wait someone’s talking and I’m starting to come around’
“-we don’t even know if-“ came a feminine voice that was interrupted by my groaning as I began to sit up. Soon a second female voice was close by and grasped onto my hand and shoulder and asked,
“Are you alright?” I slowly opened my eyes to see two women, only they weren’t women not entirely. Both had the face of a horse with long flowing manes and long spiraling horns on their foreheads and what appeared to be regalia for some sort of ruler or monarch. They had large wings on their backs and their legs were equine in nature but what was odd was they had human like arms where their forelegs would be.
“Y-yes I’m fine thank you.” I said as I began to stand but stumbled a bit before being ushered to the nearby bed and laying down.
“Tell us sir, what is your name and how did you come here?” The mare who was white and had a mane the color of a rainbow through a prism asked.
“My name is..” I stopped. I couldn’t use my actual name here could I? Not that these two mares would really know my true name but I looked at how I was dressed still in my costume until finally answering, “Yen Sid. My name is Yen Sid. As for how I got here I am unsure.”
The white mare looked to the second mare who I saw was a dark blue in color and had a mane that looked as if made by stars before saying, “Yen Sid, you wouldn’t happen to be a wizard would you?” I chuckled before saying, “what gave me away?”
“Well your attire for starters but I digress, if indeed you are a wizard then perhaps you can help us with something?” The white mare said before saying, “where are my manners we haven’t introduced ourselves have we? I am princess Celestia ruler of Equestria and bringer of dawn. And this is my sister and co-ruler Luna bringer of night and keeper of dreams.” The blue mare simply nodded in response.
“It is a honor to meet you both. Now tell me what is it you wish for my aide?” I asked.
“Well, there is this creature we call Discord running amok around our fair country and we have a plan to stop him but we need someone to distract him while we prepare. Can you help us?” Celestia asked.
“What exactly can this Discord do that has caused so much distress?” I asked
“Simply put he can bend reality to his will. He’s a bringer of chaos and disharmony.” Luna said for the first time.
“I see. Well then, we best be on our way.” I said and stood up and began heading out the door with the two mates following me before leading me outside. I must have been nuts I had absolutely no idea if I was up to the task they asked of me but seeing them in such distress how could I say no? Needless to say this was going to be an odd day.

——————-

There were tales told for a thousand years of a young wizard not from Equestria who conquered darkness and disharmony with his magical skill alone. Of two princesses who he became dear friends with and the love of the wizard and princess of the sun. These and many amazing tales were told throughout Equestria and written down in history books. One such tale however was kept from even princess Celestia and her sister and the world: a tale of the wizard and his fallen apprentice. This tale will soon come to light and the world will never be the same.

———————

Princess Celestia Sol, ruler of Equestria and bringer of Dawn, sat in her throne looking over paperwork for this mornings schedule. She sighed as she read what was tasked of her for this morning when the door burst open and a lone guard came running into the throne room.
“P-Princess! Sorry for the intrusion ma’am but…” he began shakily trying to catch his breath.
“Calm yourself my little pony, and tell me what it is you need to tell me” Celestia said calmly.
“W-Well you see ma’am it’s just that...” he began before taking a breath and sighing before saying, “He’s back” a look of joy over swept Celestia as she gasped and quickly ran out of the throne room and thanked the guard before she left, before running out into the street to see a man clad in a blue cloak and hat with the stars and moon on it walking towards the castle with a small bag in his hand and a young filly by his side.
“Yen Sid!!” Celestia shouted before running up to him and hugging him tightly.
“Tia my angel! Oh how I’ve missed you!” Came Yen Sid’s reply hugging the alabaster alicorn affectionately. They quickly broke their embrace and looked at each other smiling happily.
“Oh Yen Sid how happy I am that you’re home! You-“ she started before she looked at the mans face more clearly. He had a long thick beard down to his ribs and his face looked wrinkled and sagging yet still youthful in a way.
“Yen Sid you’ve aged.” Celestia said softly.
“Yes, yes I have my love but not to worry my face may have grown old, but I’m still the young man I always was. Now tell me everything since I’ve been gone!” Yen Sid said but before they could a tugging on his robes interrupted their conversation.
“Master, how do you know the princess?” The young filly asked curiously. She was a sky blue unicorn with white hair and violet eyes and wore a purple robe dress.
“Oh my who my this filly be?” Celestia asked kindly.
“Ah yes forgive me my dear allow me to introduce you to my new apprentice, Trixamine Lulamoon.” Yen Sid said.
“But you can call me Trixie!” The young filly said. Celestia gave a curious glance at Yen Sid before smiling and shaking the fillies hand before saying,”it’s nice to meet you Trixie. Well come along both of you you must be tired after your long journey. I’ll have my kitchen staff cook us some pancakes for breakfast.” And with that the three entered into the castle to discuss the future going foreword.
