Princess Celestia and Princess Luna set out to stop the evils of the necromancer unicorn Lord Black Crest. Although upon combating Black they failed and were captured, allowing Lord Black to get into the castle and steal the Elements of Harmony. Princess Celestia's last act before falling to Black was to write a letter to Twilight Sparkle, informing her of their failure. The gang must fight the legions of dark ponies, risen by Black, to save their Princesses, re-obtain the Elements of Harmony, and save Equestria!
