Chapter 1

A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment; however, this is not necessary for a dream to be described as lucid.

I learned to lucid dream years ago during my teenage phase. Other teens went gothic or became one of the In crowd. I took up witchcraft and meditation. Eventually, I dropped the spell casting part and just stuck to meditations. During that time I picked up the skill to lucid dream.
So after finally watching season 9 of MLP, I haven’t before due to Netflix not having the last season on its site, thank you Hulu. My little pony, still fresh in my mind I wasn’t surprised I dreamed I was in the show.

The episode was lesson Zero and my mind filled in the blanks as I watched the show in Cartoonish Three-D virtual reality style. “This is a blast!”

“Yeah, totally better then on the T.V.,” Pinkie Pie says as she sat next to me eating popcorn.

Looking over “Wait, you’re interacting with me?”

“Yuperine, I’m your subconscious after all. If the cartoon Pinke can brake the fourth wall I can so sit back and eat some popcorn!”

It wasn’t long that the episode ended and I stood in a field of stars. “Ah, the dreamscape… hmm let see what door should I take?” I head to one that looks old, the type you see in a medieval castle. Opening it blue-purple tendrils of stars came out of the door and grip me pulling me in.

I found myself in the castle of the two sisters, the scene where Luna becomes Nightmare Moon. Looking around I was standing in the very spot Twilight would in the flashback. As Luna gave her speech I notice the differences. Her fur was more realistic, her eyes were smaller more physically possible instead of the cartoonish style of the cartoon. I could see each feather of her wings. Her mane and tail were still the star-like ethereal just… more realistic.

The castle was also more real. I noticed the stone was granite the fabric of the hangings was thick and the colors were more true. In other words, my dream was to make the world of MLP into a realistic representation. That when Celestia walked past me and I saw how realistic.

“UGH, imagination I did not need to see that!”

That when I noticed I couldn’t understand what the two Royal Sisters were saying. I knew the scene word by word but they were making horse sounds. The complexity was a language, just wasn’t a human language.

Then the shit hit the fan as the saying goes. The moon rose to create the red-tinged eclipse and Luna physically changes into Nightmare Moon. That was when things got stranger, she was screaming in pain, the feathers on her wings flew off of her reviling the featherless wings, then they shifted growing into bat-like wings complete with a membrane.

“That wasn’t in the cartoon…” Luna’s herbivore teeth didn’t change shape they fell out as sharp predator teeth replaced them.

Once the metamorphosis was done the fight started. The building shook as walls and ceiling were blasted apart. A wooden beam fell through me still on fire. “There wasn’t a fire in the cartoon either, really imagination this is a bit extreme.”

Then came the climax Celestia falling near the artistic display of the Elements of Harmony. Nightmare Moon laughing as she prepares to finish her off.

The Elements answer Celestia call, and I realized then It wasn’t a dream. The magic hurt me! I was caught in the blast I felt as if something ripped me apart as I heard Nightmare Moon scream. The world faded to black.

I regained consciousness laying on a glowing blue ground. For a moment I thought I was outside, everywhere I looked was a starfield. Looking down broke that illusion. I could see through the glowing shimmer I was laying on. Below was a field of stars, above me was a field of stars, the nonexistent walls were stars. “FUCK!”

I was shocked my voice was wrong, too high pitched. I reached up to touch my neck and saw not a hand but a blue hoof, a blue so dark it could be confused as black. My actual hoof was black with just a hint of blue where it connected to the flesh of my leg. I turned my head and saw a body just as dark. I also spotted my bat-like wings.

Springing up to my, fours I spread my legs and looked between my front legs to the back. “Oh thank god I’m still a stallion… er…” That when I realized my size was wrong. No not the size of my manhood, the size of my body. “Fuck I’m a foal!” I was way too small though it was hard to judge proportions in this setting. That said I could see the tightness and shape of my limbs, the shape of my body. They were small and delicate like a foal.

My mane and tail were different shifting silvery-gray hues. Similar to clouds lit by the light of a full moon. I could even see darker shades move within the ethereal mane. It was really like watching clouds in the moonlight. “Etheral mane?” Reaching up with my forehoof I felt the nub of a horn on my forehead. “I’m an Alicorn?”

Looking around I recognized the dreamscape. Sighing I drew in my knowledge if lucid dreaming and made an island garden. Green grass formed under my hooves, trees sprang up and filled the area. None were any true types they were shifting from species from my subconscious. The only one that didn’t seem to change was a large willow tree. The Disney movie Pocahontas must have influenced it for the tree was very similar to Grandmother Willow from the movie.

Settling down on a rock I looked out at my little garden kingdom. “So I’m a dark alicorn foal in the dreamscape. Now what…”

Looking down at my little body “If this is a dream, then I should be able to control what I look like.”

Hopping off the rock I then changed to a full-grown stallion. Looking down again I saw the flaw in my plan. “This won’t do, I look like the cartoon. The Celestia and Nightmare moon I saw was realistic. Hmm, I need to get a reference, something to model an adult form off of.”

I revert to my new base appearance of the nightmare colt and head to the edge of my little island. My walking was weak at first not used to being on four hooves, but I seem to grasp movement easily. Part of it was this was still a dream, I think.

It was strange how I felt as if I was being ripped apart by that magic of the elements and be shoved into Nightmare Moon.

I guess if this was real, it better then ending up on the moon. There is a plus side with my lucid dreaming I was technically a god in this dreamscape. I changed the scene making more floating islands each with a portal like an archway. Each archway if I have done it right lead to a dreamer.

I didn’t know who dream I was heading into, and hope I could get out, but one way or another it going to be an adventure!

Author's Notes:

A new story! This will be a first-person perspective from the view of the protagonist a Human turned pony in Equestria! Or at least the Equestrians' dreams.

I try to be keeping it from his perspective, but might add some chapters from other characters. The Equestrians going to see him as a new nightmare, after all, he has the eyes, wings, and appearance similar to Nightmare Moon.

Do you have dreams or nightmare ideas he could visit? Odd and bizarre are fine! I want a fun little dream realm playground for him to grow up in.

Eventually, he will figure out how to leave the dream realm it won't all be in dreams.
