"Sorry! But did I hear you right? Cause it sounded like you said that Raven was good friends with Discord! The same Discord she has a deep hatred for and is trying to get punished!

(sigh) I understand your confusion, Smolder but what I said is true, Discord and Raven were friends who enjoyed each other company and had many fun times together.

"I don't believe you!"

"Would you prefer if I said they were madly in love?"

"I sooner eat my on foot before I ever believe those two can become a couple!"

"Than its a good thing Raven only into mares!"

"Huh......Good for her! But seriously though if she was friends with Discord, what happened between them that made her so upset that she wants him turned to stone?

"I don't know! I wish I did! One day she just suddenly stop hanging out with Discord. She use to be so happy to see him whenever he visits the castle for she loves his antics so much.

"And she never spoke to you about her problems?"

"No! Not even a slight mention! Our talks would always go the same when ever we talk about Twilight or other things. We laugh and joke and have all around good time as usual but whenever I bring up Discord and the things he'd done, she suddenly becomes cold and uninterested. Sure she stills listened to every story about him but it always felt as if she wanted to quickly move on to another topic that doesn't involve him, without showing it.

"hmmmm, by any chance do you know exactly when Raven's strange behavior began? I know its a long shot but it might give us some clue! Maybe somepony knows something!?"

"I tried asking ponies if they knew anything and none of them had the foggiest clue and as for when it all started, it was five years ago......not long after................Oh no!"

"What!? Not long after what?

"Tirek!"

"Tirek?"

"Of course! It all makes sense now! Why haven't I thought of it before!? Raven started distancing herself from Discord after he betrayed us to Tirek."

"That does make sense! A lot of sense! Discord was her friend and he betrayed her and all of pony kind!The betrayal must of effected her real badly that she can no longer trust Discord anymore, but what I don't get is why she never forgave him? and why hold on to this grudge for five years?"

"As you said, his betrayal must of effected her badly and is still effecting her to this day. The Mane six may of forgiven Discord as did many others. Heck Fluttershy and Discord are best friends and she still found it in her heart to forgive him. Raven friendship with him isn't on the same playing field as Fluttershy's but even so the pain of a friend betrayal is still something that can hurt you deeply and that's a wound that never healed for Raven."

"And when he went through with his Legion of Doom plan!?

"Raven was reminded of his earlier betrayal and reopened her old wound. She sees Discord as a threat that must be stop before he trys something like this again, believing next time we might not win the next skirmish.

Smolder stood in silence thinking about everything that she and Celestia had talked about so far. She also thought about Raven and the way she'd been acting from when she first called out to everyone all the way up to now. Despite everything about her being mad at Discord for his first betrayal making sense, for some reason Smolder can't help but think that there had to be more to this, she just can't see why Raven would be this mad at Discord for betraying everypony to Tirek.

How can anyone have that much built up rage just from one mistake. Raven had every right to be mad but to hold this grudge for "Five years" and not once consider forgiveness just didn't sit right with the orange dragon and it only made less sense from what Raven said in the memory earlier.

Although she was talking to Celestia, Smolder was also paying attention to the memory screen as well. Eventually the Raven on screen asked Celestia what did Twilight and the citizens of Ponyville do to Trixie after she was defeated. Celestia simply said they forgave and let her go. Smolder assume Raven would speak up against such a decision but to the female dragon surprise, Raven actually agreed with the towns decision to forgive trixie despite everything she had done. So, it only made Smolder wonder if Raven could forgive Trixie for enslaving an entire town.

"Then why can't see forgive Discord for his betrayal?" She thought.

nngh, I'm sorry Smolder I wish we could talk a bit more but the spell is reaching its limit and it would be an hour before I can use it again but we will discuss this more with the others when I asked Raven for a quick break."

"I understand! But before you go I have one last question?

"Yes!"

"Earlier you said you thought you knew the reason behind Raven's strange behavior, clearly that means her behavior started before you knew it was connected to Discord. So what was your first guess?"

"hmmm, you're right! I did started noticing the change before I seen her acting codly towards Discord, but the reason for what I thought was the case haves no connection to him what so ever. Its not Discord's fault that Raven's old marefriend broke up with her."

"And this break up happened not long after Tirek was defeated?"

"That's correct! It absolutely devastated her, I remember the day she told me, she was crying so much! I always thought those two would get married and live a happy life but RoseFlower told Raven they just weren't meant to be and broke up with her!"

"hmmmmm, I see! Well that's all I wanted to say you can cut the spell now, and thanks for talking to me about all this!"

"You're welcome, Smolder! Until we speak again."

And with those final words Celestia cut the spell, leaving Smolder to her own thoughts.

Smolder still had many questions but would have to wait till next time to asked them. She was still having trouble believing that Discord betraying everypony was truly the root for Raven's hatred but it was only lead she have that makes sense.

Still a nagging thought kept knocking at the back of her mind. Raven and Celestia talk about everything together, right. So why didn't Raven ever talk about how hurt she was because of Discord's betrayal if it effected her that much?

A question for another time, right now all she could do is wait for the group meeting later until then she'll just continue watching more of Raven's memory.
