Chapter 1: Prologue: Was it just a dream?

Prologue: Was it just a dream?

Unknown Location
Event in progress...

Try as she might, there was nothing she could do.

Nowhere to run, nowhere to move.

As Twilight turned her rally car towards a massive sand dune, she thought about everything that had happened in the many years since she was crowned Princess of Equestria.

Her friends rushing into a portal without her, to discover a new world.

Herself and Spike rushing into the same portal to bring them home.

Discovering that she was trapped in Paradise City until she earned her Burnout Licence.

Meeting Akula and his band of friends.

Saving Equestria and Paradise City from Grogar's Legion of Doom.

Becoming Princess of Equestria.

Giving pardons to both Akula and Chrysalis for their help in defeating the Legion of Doom.

And finally, showing her new student the Magic of Friendship, just as Celestia did with her many years ago.

But has all those moments gone to waste? Twilight thought, as her car took some huge air off the sand dune. Her boost meter had filled completely, with all three sections lined in dark yellow. It was go time.

Sadly, she never got the chance to use the boost, as she never saw a massive pickup about to hit her, boost engaged.

There was no defense.

The pickup smashed right into Twilight's rally car, wrecking it instantly. The glass windows were shattered, panels of the car flew off as it tumbled after impact. Then, everything went horrible for Twilight.

It was at the moment when the car rolled a 3rd time that, all of a sudden, the safety belt keeping Twilight in the car snapped!

Twilight was instantly thrown from her vehicle, flying out the front window. She then hit the ground, bounced along before coming to a stop on the sand.

Painfully, Twilight slowly got up, shaking free any sand that got into her mane and her coat. She looked around, but there were no other cars approaching. Until, there came an ominous roar.

Twilight instinctively looked behind her, and gasped in fear.

A massive monster truck had caught some air off of a jump, and according to its trajectory, it was going to land where Twilight was standing! She would become a tiny red stain on the monster truck's tire.

The princess was frozen in fear. She couldn't move. She then raised her forelegs and screamed.

Then, the monster truck landed on her and everything when black...

Canterlot Castle
Present Day

Princess Twilight awoke with a sudden gasp, drenched in sweat. Awaking from her slumber, she soon discovered she wasn't in the middle of a desert, but in her massive bed in Canterlot Castle. She was just having a nightmare.

Letting out a massive sigh of relief, she wipes her forehead and looks down at her body, to see that she was absolutely drenched in sweat. The princess let out another sigh, and looked around her room.

Oh goddesses! What's with these nightmares? Twilight thought, rubbing her eyes, That's the fifth time in a row I've had one this week! What is happening to me?

Twilight slowly reached to her bedside drawers, opened one of the drawers and pulled out a very special picture. She then brought it up to her, so she could look at it. The moment she laid eyes on it, she couldn't help but smile.

In the photo, forever frozen in time, was all her friends old and new, gathered around her Uberschall 8 and Akula's Rossolini Tempesta GT. Twilight, Spike and the rest of her friends were much younger then. Also, written in curvy writing in the top-left corner of the picture, was the phrase 'We wish you were here!'

Twilight smile slightly widened upon seeing the phrase, and thought back to her time in Paradise City all those years ago. Oh, I remember this! All my friends were freed from Sombra, and we managed to finish off the villains. We all gathered together and we had this photo taken! I miss that day. I still have my licence!

Twilight then opened and looked in the second drawer, but couldn't find what she was looking for. "Now where did I put it?" She closed the drawer, and opened the one below that. Then, she found it.

Sitting on top of a pile of keys and a few small notebooks, was a small black plastic card with her name and a picture of her when she had gone insane after she thought she wouldn't be able to get a friendship report in on time.

This was her Burnout Elite Licence.

Twilight just let out a small giggle when she laid her eyes on the picture of her much younger, unicorn self and remember the embarrassment and shock she felt when Akula first showed her the Learner's Permit. There you are! *sigh* Oh, such memories I made with you. I should return to Paradise someday, and see how Celestia and Luna are fairing! She thought, remembering when Akula taught the two ex-Princesses of Equestria how to cast the 'Paradise Portal', as it was called. The last she heard of them, that had earned their Burnout Licences and could now travel between the two worlds as they pleased.

Then again, that was 2 years ago.

But before she could be brought back into memory lane, there came a knock at her door.

"Princess Twilight. Breakfast is being prepared now. Would you like to come down now?" A Royal Guard announced to her.

Quickly setting down her licence and picture on her bedside, she called back to the guard, "Yes. I'll be down in a minute," She then heard the guard trotting away from her door, and quickly got out of bed, put on her crown, chestplate and golden shoes. But as she put her chestplate on, she hid her licence and photo in it and proceeded down to the dining room.

Although she had a whole team of chefs and maids at her disposal, Twilight loved to cook her own meals alongside her #1 assistant, Spike, who had now grown into a full-grown adult dragon. However, despite he more threatening appearance, he was still the lovable kind dragon he always was.

Today, he was cooking in place of the cooks, serving up a plate of salt and pepper scrambled eggs for Twilight and prepping a bowl of gems for himself.

He had just put the plates on the table, when he heard a yawn. He turned and saw Twilight walking down the stairs towards the table.

"Morning, Twilight," Spike greeted.

"Good morning Spike!" Twilight replied, taking her seat and getting a whiff of Spike's scrambled eggs, "Mmmmm! That smells heavenly! Thanks Spike!"

Spike just chuckled and said, "As long that there is an empty plate, that's thanks enough! Dig in!"

Twilight did just that. Taking her fork, she scooped up a big bit of the eggs as Spike sat down and started eating up his bowl of gems. The moment the egg hit her tongue, her tastebuds exploded in a beautiful sea of flavours. "Oh, Spike! This is absolutely delicious!"

Spike just smiled and said, "You're welcome,"

When Twilight said that her eggs were delicious, she wasn't kidding, as a full 2 and a half minutes later, Twilight's plate was completely empty. Moments later, Spike had managed to finish his bowl. Then, after a few moments of awkward silence, Twilight broke it, when she took out the picture, slid it over to Spike and said, "You remember this, Spike?"

Spike picked up the picture, and stared at it for a while, before breaking into a smile. "Yeah. I remember it well," He then slid the photo back to Twilight, who tucked the photo back into her chestplate. "You know, Twilight. It's been a while since we've been to Paradise City. And since we've got the upcoming weekend to ourselves, maybe we should pay Paradise a visit?"

Twilight smiled at the drake's idea. "Yeah! It's settled! This weekend, we are going to Paradise City!" She happily announces. But as were about to discuss something else, Spike then burped and a letter materialised from the belch, just as he did years ago. However, this letter was wrapped in a silk ribbon with a stamp binding it together. However, on the stamp was a symbol of two crossed AK-47s.

This was the symbol of Chrysalis' New Changeling Hive.

Immediately, tearing off the ribbon and read the letter to Twilight.

Dear Princess Twilight,

I desperately need your help, more than you've ever needed my own.

Akula is missing. I can't find him anywhere! I need you to gather your friends and come meet me at the hive ASAP.

Please.

Yours truly
Queen Chrysalis

Twilight couldn't believe her ears. One of Equestria's newest national heroes had gone missing right from under the eyes of his lover! And since she had a history with the changeling demon, she knew her plan of action.

"Spike, take a letter," She said, to which the drake complied, taking a piece of paper and a quill and Twilight started speaking.

Dear Queen Chrysalis

There is no need to panic. Stay where you are, we'll come to the Hive ourselves.

We will find him. I promise you that.

Your friend,
Twilight Sparkle

Once Twilight was finished, Spike rolled up the letter, wrapped a ribbon around it and breathed fire onto it. The letter became engulfed, before the smoke vanished and the letter was sent on its way.

"Inform Gallus to gather the Elements and my student in the throne room," Spike obeyed, comically saluting before rushing off to inform Gallus of the new development.

Well, things just got interesting, Twilight thought to herself, watching Spike leave the dining room.

Author's Note

The official sequel to Burnout Equestrian Paradise has begun!

I probably won't be working as much on this story as I do with the Burnout story, as the Burnout story hasn't been finished yet. But I'm just posting this anyway, so I know that I have started it.

Also, the phrase on the photo seen in this chapter is the exact same line seen at the end of the Big Surf Island DLC Trailer.

Hope you enjoyed,
as the story has just begun... :rainbowdetermined2:
