Requiescat In Pace
Chapter 2: Sequence 1
Previous Chapter Next Chapter"Rebecca! What's happening?" Asked a voice with a slight englishman's lilt.
"I dunno Shaun! The Animus is...oh my god." The female's voice suddenly stopped.
"What? What's wrong with Desmond? What's happening in there?" Asked the male's voice again.
"It..it looks like a repressed memory from Ezio....whoa whoa whoa. what the hell? Where did this come from?" Her voice took on a note of urgency and concern.
"For god's sake Rebecca what is happening in there?" The exasperated male asked again.
"It's a section of memory in Ezio's subconscious I dunno how the animus stumbled onto this but it looks like it's related to subject 16. My god it's like the animus is going into...I don't know what's happening. Sweet jesus."
"Earth to Rebecca! Come in Rebecca! what is happening in there?" Asked the englishman again."
The woman named Rebecca sighed. "Okay I'll put into normal terms, the Animus has completely gone into lockdown mode." She finished with a heavy note in her voice.
"What does that even mean?!? I thought Desmond snapped out of it!" Shouted the Englishman.
"He did! Although something's gone wrong inside the Animus's main data frame. Goddamit some sort of emergency program called 'Project Celestia' is- oh my god," She finished her voice going down in tone drastically.
"Rebecca? Talk to me what's happening in there?!? What is happening to Desmond?" Pleaded the Englishman.
"Not what's happening to Desmond, what's happening to Ezio. It seems like the Animus is forcefully integrating a memory left behind my subject 16.
"Oh shit Desmond! Shaun get me 30cc of adrenaline and stabilizer's Desmond's going into shock!"
The voices grew faint again.

Ezio Auditore Da Firenze woke up in in a small clearing within a forest, all around him he could hear wildlife screeching and calling as a gentle breeze ruffled the trees above him. "Ugh, what happened?" He called to no one in particular putting a hand to the back of his head. Everything seemed.....bigger. He got to his feet unsteadily as he surveyed his surroundings, currently he was in a rocky clearing in a dark forest. "Well this is a good start." He muttered to himself as he started walking around in circles, he stopped as he noticed the sound of hoof fall, he stopped for a minute and put down his leg. "That's strange" he muttered as he put down another leg and....another leg? He quickly looked down and instantly regretted it.
"Merda Santa" he shouted as he beheld hooves instead of hands and feet. "How did this happen? What happened?" He wondered out loud as he tested out his new found limbs, walking around in a circle to get used to the feeling. After a good 30 minutes of walking he decided to try out his tools. "Let's see here, ah!" He exclaimed as he flexed his shoulder and the hooked blade extended, it was attached to the inside of his front legs, the blade was just short enough to conceal even when fully extended but not large enough to hinder him while walking or running. "Speaking of running" he murmured as he ran at a nearby tree, jumping and using his front legs to run up a bit more before extending his right front hoof and hooking the blade into the bark. "There we go!" He shouted in glee as he used the stuck blade as an anchor to pull himself up. He scaled the tree, placing hoof over hoof until he was at the top. "Hmm...there appears to be a town over there." He looked around from his vantage point until he saw it in the horizon. It looked like a moderately small settlement but by now the master assassin had learned to take nothing for granted.
Suddenly he heard the all too familiar screech of a hawk as it landed upon a nearby jutting rock formation just a few feet from his position. "Ahh my old friend, even in new lands you guide me." He smirked as the hawk screeched again while circling the outcropping. Knowing the routine, he quickly jumped down from his place on the tree, ducking into a roll to avoid fall damage. As soon as he pulled out of his roll he full out ran towards the outcropping and jumped off, splaying his front legs for a moment and then angling them into a diver's position as he rapidly descended. He looked down only to see that there was no haystack around.
Catzo!
He mentally cursed as he plummeted to his doom, suddenly a horse pulling a hay cart ran right through his path of descent, fast enough to get into the target zone but slow enough to safely make it. He closed his eyes and sighed in relief as he felt his body fall into the soft mattress, muffling the sound of his drop and saving him from certain doom.

Ezio had decided to take a nap as the cart trundled along it's path. By now the master assassin had developed a light sleeping method; awake in a lucid state as to keep an ear out for any enemies but unconscious enough to regenerate lost energy. He felt himself awakening as the white noise usually following crowds picked up. He shifted around in the haystack, shoving away a couple strands he made a small aperture within the stack. Small enough to go unnoticed yet big enough to give the view considerable viewing.
From what he saw the town was filled with ponies. Talking, walking, intelligent ponies. Ezio rapidly blinked and smacked his face. "Damn and I was hoping I was lucid." He muttered as he jumped out and into a nearby group of ponies, too engrossed in conversation to notice the strange stallion next to them.
"Did you hear about the zebras in the west? I heard they're putting up an awfully big fight!" Pipped a cream colored mare next to Ezio, he kept his head low as he tried his hardest to blend. "Yes I know! It won't do them any good though, the Equestrian Army is huge! And it's just a matter of time until they surrender." Spoke a mint green mare opposite from Ezio, she sighed as she finished. "You know Equestria used to be such a peaceful land. That was until Solaris took over." She finished, her voice dripping with venom.
Ezio quickly slipped away from the group of 6. "Okay so this place is called Equestria. Now how did I get here?" Murmured the assassin as he sauntered through the promenade, nudging bystanders out of the way as he took in his surroundings.
"I'd better scope out the surroundings." He thought as he looked up at a large decoratively colored building. He quickly spotted a hawk circling the top dome shaped structure, a tell-tale sign. He quickly glanced from side to side to see if there were any other buildings taller than that one, spotting none he cursed his luck and walked around it.
"Now what the hell type structure could that be?" He thought as he eyed it curiously. It reminded him of a cottage the way the wooden planks were evident through the buildings stucco. He made a circle around the building, a sign caught his attention as he completed his reconnaissance. "Sugarcube corner aye? What a strange name." He grunted as he scaled a nearby stack of crates, afterwards leaping upwards and using the hooked blade as a launching mechanism. He made quick work of scaling the building and found himself confronted with the tower. He paused for a moment to regain his breath.
"I'm getting too old for this." He grumbled as he jumped up, intent on concurring the towering obstacle before him.

"It keeps saying 'error protocol 6 active'." Said the annoyed female again.
"What does that even mean?" He heard footsteps as the englishmen approached.
"Rebecca, Shaun, any news on Desmond?" Asked a new voice it sounded slightly nasally but oldened with age. It seemed so familiar.
"Nothing Bill...I don't know what happened...it's like the Animus is completely rebooting or something, I can't access any of the achieves at all! Although it appears that Desmond is fine. His heart rate is steady....about 84 BPMs." Spoke the Rebecca woman again, her voice sounded preoccupied.
"Is there anything we can do to fix this?" Spoke the man named Bill, he sounded vaguely concerned but very preoccupied.
"Nothing at the moment, all we can do is wait and watch. Although I am getting increased brain activity from him. Wait that probably means Desmond can hear us!" She shouted her voice suddenly uplifting.
"He still showing signs of comatose though so I doubt that he's much help. I agree with you on one point though, all we can do is wait and watch." Bill said again.
Desmond felt himself slip back into unconsciousness. Next Chapter: Sequence 2 Estimated time remaining: 4 Minutes
