Twilight Sparkle feels sad and betrayed by her friends, Spike, brother and mentor after they have ignored the warnings that Cadence was evil. Nightmare, feel these negative feelings in the unicorn and see an opportunity.
After Twilight said Cadence was evil, everypony rejected her warnings. Twilight feels sad and betrayed. Sad that especially Spike, Shining Armor and her mentor had avoided her, and betrayed that her friends had told her that they would take what Twilight would tell them seriously after the Lesson Zero events. Twilight just didn't expect Nightmare to come keep her company.
Fallen to the dark side (Edited)
Twilight Sparkle watched her brother leave the room where the wedding rehearsal would be. She felt sad, Twilight hoped her brother would take her words seriously, but the unicorn was very wrong. She glanced back to where her friends and Spike were sadly.
Twilight’s friends were still shocked, but the only one who didn’t look shocked anymore was Applejack. “Let’s go, guys”
Twilight’s friends looked at Applejack. “Let’s comfort the princess”
Twilight Sparkle watched her friends leave unhappy. She was very sad, but she was sadder to see Spike accompanying the five mares. She felt betrayed. Did her friends lie to her all this time?
Twilight Sparkle realized that Celestia was also leaving, but with an unhappy face. She tried to explain her reasons, but Celestia responded very harshly. “You have a lot to think about”
Tears came from Twilight’s eyes after she heard what her mentor told her. Why? Why didn’t her mentor believe her? She thought Celestia would always believe her.
Twilight Sparkle watched the two guards leave the room and leave the unicorn alone. She hit a hoof on the head. “How could I be so childish?!”
Twilight Sparkle looked annoyed as she spoke the phrase, but after she had finished speaking, her anger was replaced with sadness. She ducked her head before going up the stairs to cry. Does everypony hate her now? Just thinking about it made her want to cry even more.
Twilight remembered when she entered the rehearsal room with an unhappy expression and accused her ex-foalsitter without proof. She should have said it without being annoyed. Twilight was sure that if she had spoken more calmly, perhaps her friends, mentor, and brother would believe her.
But she began to remember what her brother said. Shining Armor told her that Cadence was stressed. Was it really stress or was she right? She didn’t even know anymore. The only thing Twilight wanted to do now is go far away from Equestria and never be seen again by her friends, mentor and brother.
When she arrived on the stairs, Twilight lay down to cry. Twilight wanted to have a way to prove to the others that she is right.
“I thought my friends would listen to me after that accident with Smarty Pants.” Twilight Sparkle said bitterly. “But it looks like I was wrong.”
Twilight Sparkle began to remember when her friends went to explain to Celestia that it wasn’t her fault but their own. That night, she was surprised. And Twilight Sparkle can remember that her friends seemed to speak as if they had learned a friendship lesson. Did they forget or lie to her? If her friends lied to her, she was starting to feel angry. Twilight knew she shouldn’t feel it from her friends, but she felt it.
Suddenly, a light blue mist came through the hole in the door that Twilight was in and smiled as it saw the unicorn crying alone. The fog approached.
Twilight Sparkle couldn’t stop crying. Her tears wet her cheek. Twilight felt something touching her, but as she was crying, the unicorn didn’t seem to care so much. It stroked the unicorn’s mane.
”There, there, Twilight. Don’t Cry.”
Twilight Sparkle heard the voice and tried to look at the figure. But from crying so much, her vision blurred. She rubbed her eyes with a hoof before blinking and her vision returned to normal. Seeing the figure, she recognized who it was. “N-Nightmare?!”
Nightmare seemed happier for the unicorn to recognize her.
”You know my name? How interesting…”
“And how wouldn’t I recognize?” asked Twilight Sparkle. “It was you who used Luna to cause eternal night.”
”Well, you’re right. But it was she who wanted her night to be enjoyed. I just found a way for her wish to come true.”
“But why are you here?” asked Twilight Sparkle. “Shouldn’t the Elements of Harmony have destroyed you?”
“Twilight, when you and your friends used the Elements of Harmony, you just made me separate from Luna. I am an entity that is attracted to negative feelings.”
Twilight Sparkle looked scared. What did she feel that attracted Nightmare? “Did you know what I was feeling?”
”Yes, Twilight. Before I came here, I was at the Castle of the Two Sisters. When I felt negative feelings in Canterlot, I went to see what was going on.”
“But how did you know it was me?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“I’m attracted to a wave of negative emotions, Twilight. The closer I get to the place that has negative emotions, the easier it will be for me to be in one place.”
Twilight Sparkle wanted to know something. “But do you only appear in public places or only in places where a pony is alone?”
”I only appear in places where a pony is alone, Twilight.”
“But I don’t understand,” said Twilight Sparkle. “Why did you come to me? I know you were attracted to negative feelings from me, but what do you want from me?”
”Simple, Twilight. I have an offer for you.”
“What offer?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“I’m feeling your feelings, Twilight. You’re feeling sad, angry, and betrayed by your friends, your dear mentor, your dragon, and your brother.”
Twilight Sparkle felt sad to feel it. But she shouldn’t feel that way. It was the fault of her friends, mentor, Spike, and her brother who didn’t listen to her for their warnings.
Nightmare felt Twilight’s sadness and hugged her.
“Why this sadness, my little pony?”
“I feel guilty about what I’m feeling,” Twilight replied.
”What are you feeling, Twilight?”
“I’m feeling sad, angry and betrayed that no one has heard my warnings about Cadence being evil,” Twilight replied.
Nightmare smiled.
”Twilight, there’s nothing wrong with feeling these negative feelings. Everypony feels these feelings from time to time.”
Twilight Sparkle looked a little surprised, but still had sadness on her face. “Really, Nightmare?”
”Really, Twilight.”
Twilight Sparkle didn’t look as sad as before. But remembering what her friends, Spike, her mentor, and her brother did made her cry again.
Nightmare realized that the sadness of Twilight has returned.
“Why are you crying again, Twilight?”
“I feel like everypony has gone against me and they don’t want to know about me anymore,” Twilight replied.
”Twilight, what if I told you there is a way for you to show your friends how sad, angry and betrayed you are?”
Twilight Sparkle looked happy. “Really? Which is?”
”Let me take control of your body.”
The unicorn was startled. “What? Never!!”
”And why not, Twilight?”
“You’ll hurt my friends, my brother, Spike and the princess,” replied Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight, I don’t mean to hurt anypony you like.
“But what if you’re lying?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
”I’m not lying, Twilight. You can trust me.”
Twilight Sparkle seemed uncertain whether or not to accept this offer. “Really?”
”Yes, Twilight. Come on, accept it. With you by my side, we will show them what it means to feel betrayed.”
“But I don’t want to betray them, Nightmare,” said Twilight Sparkle.
”You will not betray them, Twilight. I will only show them your frustration before them.”
Twilight began to wonder whether or not to accept.
“So, Twilight? You accept?”
Twilight Sparkle looked at Nightmare. “Ok, Nightmare. I accept”
Nightmare went to the Twilight Horn to enter. Twilight’s pupils turned into light purple dragon slits. She began to squirm a lot. When Nightmare completely entered the horn, the form of Twilight began to change. The color of the lavender fur turned black, but it wasn’t so strong black. The outline of the body was a dark purple. The dark blue part of her mane changed to a light purple, the purple streak turned a dark purple and the pink streak went to a hot pink. Her Cutie Mark was the same, but in the pink star she had a slit through the star. In the slit it had two six-pointed stars, one larger and one smaller. And lastly, the mane and tail glowed.
“Muahahahahahahahaha! At last! I successfully possessed the bearer of the Element of Magic. And now, the night… will last… forever!”
Nightmare Sparkle Vs Queen Chrysalis (Edited)
It was already wedding day, Celestia had already begun the ceremony. The entrance doors opened revealing Cadence, who had a mischievous smile, but no one seemed to notice or care about that. Rarity looked like she was going to cry, but then she took a handkerchief and wiped her tears away. While Applejack took her hat and put it on while looking sideways. As Cadence climbed the stairs, she and Shining Armor looked at each other. But what no one noticed, except Cadence, was that Shining Armor’s eyes were green. Celestia began to speak, “We are here at this ceremony to bring these two ponies together. If any pony goes against these ponies getting together, talk now or shut up forever.”
“I’m against!”
Everypony looked and saw a black unicorn with ethereal mane. The unicorn didn’t seem happy about it. Everypony was surprised and scared. But who were most scared were the friends of Twilight, Cadence, Spike and Celestia, because they recognized who this unicorn was.
“Twilight?” asked Celestia. “Is that you?”
“Twilight? I’m… Nightmare Sparkle!” said Nightmare Sparkle.
Everypony in the room was surprised and frightened by this revelation.
Nightmare Sparkle slowly approached Cadence as she smiled. Cadence looked scared.
“B-back off, Twilight!” cried Cadence, before casting her magic. But Twilight made a shield to protect herself as she continued walking.
When Cadence stopped casting the magic, Twilight took off her shield to speak. “It’s no use, Cadence. You will not stop me. That is, if I should call you by that name.”
Cadence was nervous. To her surprise, the mares blocked the passage of Nightmare Sparkle. “If you want the princess, you have to go through the five of us.”
Nightmare Sparkle shook her head as she smiled. “You guys are such idiots,” she charged her magic before casting on the five mares. But to her misfortune, they jumped away.
“Twilight, what the hell happened to you?” asked Applejack.
Nightmare Sparkle laughed before answering and putting a hoof on her cheek. “Oh? Looks like you have a poor memory. ”
“What are you talking about, Twilight?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Don’t you remember?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “You ignored Twilight when she said Cadence was evil”
“Twilight, but you were accusing without proof!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
“Ah-ah. I’m not done talking yet,” said Nightmare Sparkle. Rainbow Dash got angrier.
“And you know what happened after she was left alone, ponies?” asked Nightmare Sparkle.
No one answered.
“She cried, you fools!” shouted Nightmare Sparkle. She walked back, only now angrily and went to Celestia, who was saddened by what Nightmare Sparkle said.
Nightmare Sparkle went to Celestia and put a hoof on the chin of the princess. “And Celestia, you ignored Twilight when she needed it most! Do you know what happened next?”
Celestia was crying with guilt. She didn’t want to answer Nightmare Sparkle’s question.
“I showed up and comforted her,” replied Nightmare Sparkle.
“This ... That’s very nice of you,” said Fluttershy with a smile.
Nightmare Sparkle took her hoof off of Celestia’s chin, looked at Fluttershy, and lowered herself to Fluttershy’s level. “Do you think I did just that? I comforted and offered an offer.”
Celestia was worried. This thing couldn’t be what she thought it was.
“I gave the offer to take control of her body and she accepted,” said Nightmare Sparkle, before getting up and laughing. “And now, you will never see the lavender unicorn again. The same unicorn that defeated me when I was in Luna’s body.”
“Nightmare,” Celestia acknowledged who was in Twilight’s body.
Nightmare Sparkle smiled. “I see you still remember me, Celestia. Ready to not see the sun anymore and have only the moon and the stars in the sky?”
“Please, Nightmare!” cried Celestia through tears. “Let Twilight go. I want to apologize to her”
“Apologize?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “Did you forget what you told her?”
Celestia remembered what she said and made her cry. She didn’t know why she spoke that way to her student. Why didn’t she say it more calmly? Now, she lost her student to Nightmare. She had already lost Luna. Now, she lost Twilight Sparkle to Nightmare.
“Twilight, can you hear us?” asked Applejack. “Fight it!”
Nightmare Sparkle looked at Applejack. “Twilight can’t hear you. She’s currently watching everything from her mind while I control her body.”
Rainbow Dash flew to Nightmare Sparkle. “You monster! Let Twilight go!”
“Never!” shouted Nightmare Sparkle before casting damage magic on Rainbow, but the pegasus swerved flying to the left. Nightmare Sparkle seemed a little annoyed that she couldn’t hit Rainbow Dash. But she became calm again and looked at Cadence with a smile.
“I see you are very quiet, Cadence,” said Nightmare Sparkle. “Anything to say about losing your favorite foal?”
Cadence was nervous. She didn’t know what to say.
“Are you really Cadence?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “Or is it a changeling?”
Cadence looked nervous at the last sentence. “I’m not a Changeling, Twilight. Where did this idea come from?”
“Do you know who you’re talking to, Cadence?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “You’re not talking to Twilight. You’re talking to the queen of nightmares.”
Nightmare Sparkle has carried its magic. Cadence stepped back as Nightmare Sparkle walked over to her.
“Please, Twilight!” cried Cadence. “Don’t do it!”
But to no avail, Nightmare Sparkle used her magic on Cadence. Everypony was surprised. But Nightmare Sparkle didn’t kill Cadence, just took off her cover. When she was done, Nightmare Sparkle went to the creature.
Chrysalis opened her eyes. She was no longer scared and started to laugh. “You're right. I’m a Changeling, and As queen of the Changelings, it is my duty to find love for my subjects. And Equestria has more love than anywhere I’ve ever encountered! And each time I feed on Shining Armor’s love, he becomes weak, as does his spell to protect Canterlot. Me and my subjects will dominate all Equestria!”
Nightmare Sparkle stopped walking. “Queen Chrysalis, you will not dominate Canterlot and all Equestria. That will be my role that I will do.”
Nightmare Sparkle charged her magic before casting on Queen Chrysalis, but the queen also cast magic. The two spells were struggling to gain control. Although Chrysalis has the power of Shining Armor’s love, that wasn’t enough for her to win. Nightmare Sparkle managed to win with the force of hatred. Chrysalis was on the floor, stunned. Nightmare Sparkle caught Chrysalis with her magic. “Now answer me one question: Where is the real Cadence?”
Chrysalis opened her eyes. “In… In the crystal cave….”
Nightmare Sparkle threw Chrysalis to the ground before using her magic and casting it to the moon.
The Changelings who struck the shield saw Chrysalis being thrown to the moon, they stopped what they were doing to follow their queen.
Nightmare Sparkle looked back at the audience ponies. “I hope you all are ready to see the stars and the moon in the sky. Because the night will be eternal, and this time it will be forever!”
Twilight's friends were surprised by the words of Nightmare Sparkle. They were very sorry they didn’t hear Twilight. Thanks to their negligences, they lose Twilight. Celestia didn’t know what to do to get her beloved student back. Without Twilight, the Elements of Harmony wouldn’t work. And now? But until she remembered what Chrysalis said: Chrysalis said the real Cadence was in the crystal mines.
Nightmare Sparkle stopped laughing. “Well, I’m going. I have a castle to decorate in Everfree Forest and when I return, I will have a conversation with Luna.”
Nightmare Sparkle realized that she had no wings and wasn’t an alicorn. She decided to walk. As Nightmare Sparkle left the room, she closed the door.
Twilight’s friends were very sad. But the saddest things were Spike. Spike was crying, he lost the pony in which he saw as a mother.
Applejack looked at Celestia. “And now, princess? What do we do?”
“Let’s save Cadence,” replied Celestia. “Chrysalis has said Cadence was in the Crystal Cave.”
“But what if she’s lying, princess?” asked Applejack.
“Applejack, I’m sure she’s not lying,” said Celestia. “Now who will come with me?”
Who answered in unison were Spike and friends of Twilight. “Me! Me!”
Rescuing Cadence (Edited)
Cadence felt suffocated within the crystal walls. She wondered if anypony would rescue her. She wondered if Chrysalis had mastered Equestria. If so, could Celestia prevent it? She hoped so. Suddenly, she heard hoofbeats and two voices in the background.
“Princess, don’t you think we should break these crystal walls?”
“But darling, they are so beautiful”
“Rarity, stop finding it all cute for a second. We have to rescue Princess Cadence and save Twilight from Nightmare”
Cadence was surprised by the last three words and was worried. Was Twilight all right? What happened to the unicorn? She needed to ask her aunt about this. But first, Cadence had to find a way for them to know she was behind a crystal wall. She started hitting the wall with a hoof.
In the background Celestia, Spike, and the mares heard the sound of something hitting a wall.
“Where the hell does this noise come from?” asked Applejack.
“Is there a monster here?” asked Fluttershy with fear.
“Fluttershy, stop being fearful,” said Rainbow Dash. “There are no monsters in caves.”
“But what if there is a crystal dragon that takes care of this cave?” asked Fluttershy.
Rainbow Dash hit both front hooves in the face. “Please, Fluttershy. There are no crystal dragons!”
Fluttershy looked at Rainbow. “But what if they exist?”
“Please, pony. Stop fighting,” said Celestia. “Let’s check where that sound comes from.”
“Sorry, princess,” said Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in unison, now regretful.
They walked again as they looked around for where they saw the sound. But the sound was a little far from them.
Rainbow Dash had an idea. “Can I fly to where the sound could possibly be?”
“No, Rainbow,” replied Applejack. “We are a team and we will be together”
Rainbow Dash was grumpy. “Fine”
Nightmare Sparkle finally arrived at Two Sisters Castle and began to look around. “Hm. This castle isn’t decorated in the way I like it.”
Nightmare Sparkle used her magic and made the castle style change. The walls changed to a lavender color, the floor with a light blue carpet, the two thrones they had in the room were replaced by a single lavender throne. On top of the throne had the design of a six-pointed star beside it. Beside the throne, were two pink tapestries with purple stars. When she was done, she looked around the room and smiled. “Now the throne room is worthy of a queen.”
“The sound is louder, ponies,” said Applejack.
Pinkie Pie put an ear to a crystal and realized it was very high and looked at her friends, Spike and Celestia. “Girls, I think Cadence is here.”
Celestia carried her magic. “Get behind me. I’ll use my magic to break the crystal.”
The magic went to the crystal and broke. The ponies and the dragon smiled when they saw Cadence. Cadence realized she was released and rose from the floor. “Thank you for saving me. Chrysalis had teleported me down here.”
“It was nothing, Princess Cadence,” said Applejack.
“How are things up there?” asked Cadence. “Chrysalis dominated Equestrian with her Changelings army?”
“No, Cadence,” replied Celestia. “Twilight saved Equestria before the Changelings could break the shield.”
Cadence smiled with relief. But she realized that Twilight wasn’t with them. “Where’s Twilight? Where is she?”
Everypony except Cadence was concerned. How would they explain that Twilight left Nightmare owns her body? Who spoke first was Applejack. “About Twilight, Cadence… She… Let’s say…”
“.... Nightmare took over the body of Twilight!” finished Spike. Applejack looked at Spike unhappy.
Cadence was worried. “But why? What happened?”
Now they didn’t know how they would explain it. “Well… Twilight Sparkle came to us and said the fake Cadence was evil.”
“And you believed her, right?” asked Cadence.
Applejack was unsure. She knew Cadence wouldn’t be happy. “No, Cadence. Because Twilight was accusing her without proof.”
Cadence looked at Celestia. “And you, aunt? You believed her, right?”
Celestia felt like crying. “No, Cadence.”
Cadence fought to not be annoyed. “But why not?”
“Because as Shining Armor said, he told us that you were like that because of stress and we believe it,” replied Celestia.
“But Aunt, I rarely get stressed,” said Cadence. “You know me very well.”
“I know, Cadence,” Celestia was crying, but wasn’t directed at Cadence. “But I thought you would be stressed. And now, because I didn’t listen to my student, I lost her for the Nightmare in the same way I lost Luna!”
Cadence approached Celestia with a smile. “Don’t cry, Aunt. We will save her.”
Celestia looked up for Cadence. “But how? The Elements of Harmony only work if Twilight is with her friends”
“Don’t worry, Celestia,” said Cadence. “We’ll find a way to save her.”
“I hope so, Cadence,” said Celestia.
“Do you know where the cave exit is?” asked Cadence.
“Yes, Cadence,” replied Celestia. “Just keep going walking.”
They started walking. Cadence decided to ask. “And Shining Armor? He is fine?”
Celestia looked at Cadence. “Well, he’s not hurt.”
Cadence smiled. “That’s nice. But did Chrysalis do anything else?”
“Well Cadence, let’s say Chrysalis hypnotized her future husband to feed on his love,” replied Pinkie Pie.
Cadence was frightened and worried. “My Fausto! Do you know where he is?”
“Yes, Cadence,” replied Celestia. “He’s where the wedding was going to be.”
“Phew,” said Cadence. “That’s good”
Arriving in Canterlot, they opened the door to the wedding and saw Shining Armor standing still. Cadence looked worried for her love. “Shining Armor!” she rushed over to Shining Armor. The others just watched Cadence.
When Cadence reached Shining Armor she said, “Shining, talk to me. Please.”
But Shining Armor didn’t answer. Cadence felt tears before embracing him. What Cadence didn’t notice was that a heart came out of her horn and flew into Shining’s face before it burst. Shining squinted for a few seconds before shaking his head. “W-what happened ...?”
Cadence smiled before hugging him. Shining Armor felt himself being hugged and looked at Cadence. “Cadence, what happened?”
“Chrysalis had disguised herself as me to feed on the love you feel for me. She and her Changeling subjects tried to invade and conquer Canterlot and then, the rest of Equestria.” Cadence replied.
Shining Armor was concerned. “And where is she?”
“Twilight managed to defeat her and now the queen is on the moon,” replied Cadence.
Shining Armor looked at the mares, Spike and Celestia but realized that Twilight wasn’t with them. “Where’s Twilight?”
All except Shining Armor and Cadence were concerned. They bit their lips as they looked to the right.
Shining Armor noted the concern and became concerned. “She’s fine? What happened? What happened to her?”
They didn’t know how they were going to explain to Shining Armor. Who decided to answer was Applejack. “Shining Armor, by our fault, Twilight was… well… let’s say… she felt so many negative emotions that Nightmare saw an opportunity to possess our friend’s body.”
Shining Armor was scared. “But why, Applejack? What made her feel negative emotions?”
“Do you remember when you got mad at Twilight after she said ‘Cadence’ was mean?” asked Applejack.
“Yes, I remember,” answered Shining Armor. “Why?”
“Let’s say Twilight Sparkle was saddened by what you said,” Applejack replied.
Shining Armor was surprised. He didn’t want his sister to cry. “I didn’t want to make my sister cry. Why did I do it?”
“Maybe the magic Chrysalis used on you did it,” suggested Cadence.
“That could be it, Cadence,” said Shining Armor. “But where would she be now?”
“Nightmare Sparkle said that she went to the Castle of the Two Sisters to decorate,” replied Celestia, “when she returns, Nightmare Sparkle would have a conversation with Luna.”
“We need to warn Luna!” shouted Applejack. “She’s in danger!”
Captured
Luna watched if Canterlot was safe in a tower. She couldn’t help noticing that the Changelings that were hitting the shield left. Well, that was a good thing. Luna couldn’t help but notice before she saw something flying from the window. She didn’t know what it was. But Luna knew it was a creature that tried to invade. Whoever threw the creature away did a good job, she even intended to please that it did. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a door opening and closing. She looked back and saw her sister, Spike, friends of Twilight, Cadence and Shining Armor. “Sister? Friends? Cadence? Shining? What happened?”
“Sister, you’re in danger,” replied Celestia.
Luna was confused and worried at the same time. “Me? In danger? But what am I in danger of?”
“It’s Nightmare Sparkle, Luna,” replied Celestia. “She went to Castle of the Two Sisters to decorate it, and then would come to you.”
Luna was confused. “Wait. Who is Nightmare Sparkle?”
“Nightmare Sparkle is Nightmare in Twilight’s body,” replied Celestia. “It’s kind of hard to explain.”
“But how did Twilight become that?” asked Luna. “What made her accept for Nightmare to take control of her body?”
Celestia got nervous. “It’s our fault, Luna”
“What do you mean it’s from all of you, Sister?” asked Luna.
“In the rehearsal, Twilight accused ‘Cadence’ of being evil just because she was acting differently,” Celestia replied.
Luna found it odd that Cadence was acting weird. “And you believed in her?”
“No, Luna. I was taken by her brother’s words.” Celestia was crying now.
“Sister, Twilight is your student,” said Luna. “If Twilight said that, it was because she felt something wasn’t right.”
“I know, Luna,” Celestia kept crying. “But I thought Cadence was like that because of stress.”
“Sister, don’t blame yourself,” said Luna. “You made a mistake, that’s all.”
“But it was my mistake that gave Nightmare the opportunity to take control of Twilight’s body,” said Celestia.
“But what do you want me to do, sister?” asked Luna. She wanted to do something to save her friend.
Celestia didn’t know what to do. “I don’t know, Luna. We came here before Nightmare Sparkle to warn you that she would come here to possibly talk to you.”
“I know that already, Sister,” said Luna. “But you want me to do what?”
Suddenly they heard the sound of a door opening. Everypony looked at the door and saw Nightmare Sparkle. Nightmare Sparkle smiled at the sight of Luna and approached. “Hi again, Luna.”
“Twilight?” asked Luna. “Is that you?”
“I’m not Twilight,” said Nightmare Sparkle. “I’m Nightmare Sparkle!”
“Twilight, you have to fight it,” said Luna.
“You’re so naive, Luna,” said Nightmare Sparkle. “Before I took control of your body you resisted me for a long time. You denied and denied my chances that I could use your body. Twilight was the opposite of you. She accepted on the spot, although it seems uncertain at first I managed to convince her until fast, and Twilight won’t be able to hear you, she’s watching everything in her mind while i’m controlling her body.”
“You will let Twilight go now. Or I will…” Luna was already prepared for her magic.
“Or what? Will you attack me?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “She and me are the same. If you hurt me, you’ll be hurting Twilight too.”
Nightmare Sparkle’s words made Luna’s courage fade. She stopped using her magic. She didn’t want to hurt her first friend. What would Twilight think of her?
“Luna, don’t listen to what she says!” said Applejack.
“Yeah, Luna. This one doesn’t know who she’s getting into!” agreed Rainbow Dash.
Nightmare Sparkle smiled before laughing and saying, “Do you think I don’t know? Of course I do. You’re the five mares who tried to keep me from causing eternal night. The difference is that I was in Luna’s body and now I’m in Twilight’s body and she’s not with you five anymore”
Rainbow flew to Nightmare Sparkle. “We will free Twilight from your hooves. You will see!”
“Do you think I won’t be ready?” asked Nightmare Sparkle. “I have an army of Nightmare forces. Only they’re on the moon now, but that doesn’t stop me from calling them to bring them to Equestria.”
“Are you afraid of losing?” asked Rainbow Dash. “Because we will find a way to stop you. We’ve beaten you before and we can do it again.”
“How many times will I have to say?” asked Nightmare Sparkle, already starting to get impatient with the pegasus. “How will you use the Elements of Harmony without Twilight? She bearers the Element of Magic. And without her, the Elements won’t work.”
Rainbow Dash remembered that, but remained confident. She didn’t let Nightmare Sparkle keep her from confindece.
Nightmare Sparkle laughed at the reaction of the pegasus. “What happened? Can’t you accept the truth that you’ll never see Twilight again?”
Rainbow Dash got angry. She punched Nightmare Sparkle’s cheek, resulting in turning red. Nightmare Sparkle screamed before putting her right front hoof on her cheek. Nightmare Sparkle glared at Rainbow Dash, the pegasus realized what she it did, and smiled nervously. “That hurt, you know?”
“Er ... Sorry,” said Rainbow Dash.
Grumpy, Nightmare Sparkle took the hoof off her cheek, took Rainbow Dash, and used her magic. Everypony had to close and cover their eyes. When the glow stopped, they stopped covering and opened their eyes. They were surprised. Rainbow Dash has gone.
“What did you do to Dashie, Queen Mean?” asked Pinkie Pie in an unhappy way.
“I put her in the castle dungeons, pink pony,” replied Nightmare Sparkle.
“Get her out of the dungeon, bad queen!” shouted Pinkie Pie.
“I won’t do that,” said Nightmare Sparkle. “All of you will go to the dungeons.”
Nightmare Sparkle charged its magic and made a glow occur. Everypony and Spike in the room had to close their eyes because the glow was so strong. When the glow faded, the mares, princesses, and Shining Armor were no longer in place. Nightmare Sparkle smiled before walking again. “Now, I must return to my castle.”
Hope almost lost
In the dungeons of Nightmare Sparkle Castle, each was teleported to a cage. No one was together at the cage, everypony and the dragon were apart. They couldn’t save Twilight from Nightmare. Did they really fail or was there still a chance of Twilight being saved? But how would they save her? Without Twilight, the Elements of Harmony wouldn’t work.
“She arrested you too, guys?”
Those who had just arrived in the dungeons looked left and they saw Rainbow Dash and nodded.
“I want to punch her so badly!” Rainbow slammed her front hooves as if she was ready to hit somepony.
“Rainbow, we can’t do that,” said Fluttershy.
“And why not, Fluttershy?” Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy. “She’s evil.”
“Did you forget, Rainbow?” Applejack asked in an unhappy way. “If we hurt Nightmare Sparkle, we’ll be hurting Twilight Sparkle.”
Rainbow Dash remembered, but tried not to admit that she was wrong. “I already knew.”
Applejack rolled her eyes at the answer. She couldn’t stand the pegasus’s ego. “Rainbow, can you stop being proud for a while? Can’t you even admit you’re wrong? Damn it…”
Rainbow Dash was annoyed. “Now you want me to act the way you want? Go pick apples.”
Applejack was annoyed by what Rainbow told her. “I’m just being honest!”
“No need to throw it in the face, right?!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
“Why don’t you let that pride go and admit you’re wrong?” asked Applejack.
Fluttershy decided to interrupt the fight. “Girls, stop fighting, please. Fighting won’t solve the situation at all.”
Rainbow Dash tried to not show her regret, while Applejack demonstrated the opposite and took off her cowgirl hat.
“I’m sorry, Fluttershy,” said Applejack.
Fluttershy smiled. “It’s alright Applejack.”
Applejack smiled at being forgiven and put her hat back on her head. But her smile fell when she remembered where she, her friends, the stallion, the dragon and the three princesses were.
“And now, princess? What will we do?” Applejack asked. “We can’t let Nightmare Sparkle dominate Equestria.”
Celestia looked at Applejack. She wanted to say that everything would be all right, everything would work out, it would end well and that they could save Twilight Sparkle from Nightmare. But how would they do it? Everypony and Spike were trapped in separate cages.
Celestia’s ears dropped and she let out a breath. “I don’t know, Applejack.”
“Come on, princess. I’m sure we can punch Nightmare’s ass and save Twilight,” said Rainbow Dash.
Applejack became angry again. “Did you happen to forget what I said to you, Rainbow? If we hurt Nightmare Sparkle, we’ll be hurting Twilight Sparkle.”
Rainbow Dash was grumpy and cross-hoofed. “It was just a way of saying…”
Celestia began to cry for her student. She still blamed herself for not hearing The Twilight Warning.. Everypony heard Celestia’s cry and saw the princess lying, crying.
“It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault.” Celestia told herself.
Fluttershy wished she wasn’t far from Celestia, because then she could comfort the alicorn. “Princess, don’t blame yourself.”
Celestia looked at Fluttershy. “It’s my fault, Fluttershy.”
“In fact is my fault, princess,” said Shining Armor.
Everypony and Spike looked at Shining Armor, even Celestia, but there were still tears in their eyes.
“It was my fault for saying that ‘Cadence’ was that way because of stress,” said Shining Armor. “If I hadn’t said that, I would have made sure that you would all stand by Twilight.”
“Love, it wasn’t your fault,” said Cadence. “It was from Chrysalis. She fooled you all.”
Shining Armor seemed to want to believe the words of his future wife, but he still felt guilty about everything. He knew that maybe the reason he got mad at his little sister was because of Chrysalis’s spell. But what if it isn’t? What if he said that because he wanted to? Tears began to fall from his eyes and he lay on the floor as he wept with guilt. The others could do nothing but watch, because they were in separate cages.
In the sky, creatures known as the Nightmare Forces come out of the moon. Nightmare Sparkle was on her castle balcony watching them coming to her.
Shadowfright went to Nightmare Sparkle to kiss her queen’s hoof. “My queen. You got it.”
Nightmare Sparkle smiled. “Yes, Shadowfright. All I had to do was manipulate the carrier of the element of Magic.”
Shadowfright smiled back. “And was it easy?”
“Well, at first she didn’t accept it, but it wasn’t long before I could convince her,” replied Nightmare Sparkle. “And I must confess, this unicorn was a lot easier than Luna.”
“I agree, queen,” said Shadowfright.
“Anypony have any idea how we’ll get out of here?” asked Rainbow Dash.
Applejack had an idea. “Rarity!”
Rarity looked at Applejack. “Yes, Dear?”
“Can you teleport?” asked Applejack.
“I can try,” Rarity tried to use her magic, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. “I can’t use my magic.”
“They’re kind of clever for a bunch of monsters.” was all Rainbow Dash could think of to say.
Suddenly, they heard a snoring sound and saw a Nightmare Force sleeping right in front of the door. The ponies and the dragon would like to have the key. But how would they have?
“Guys, see!” pointed Pinkie Pie to something that was under the Nightmare Force.
Celestia recognized the item. “The key!”
“But how do we get it, princess?” Rarity looked at Celestia. “My unicorn magic doesn’t work.”
“Does alicorn magic work?” Celestia decided to try her magic, but it didn’t work either. Celestia didn’t know what to do. “I can’t use my magic either. And now?”
Pinkie Pie had an idea. “I already know what to do. Have no more fear, ponies and dragon. Pinkie Pie knows how to solve the situation.”
“What’s your idea, Pinkie?” asked Applejack.
“Just watch.” Pinkie Pie spun a part of her mane before she started digging. Near of the Nightmare Force, Pinkie Pie came up, took the key with a hoof, put it in her mouth before going to the princesses and their friends were. Although everypony was still confused as to how Pinkie Pie spun her mane, they decided to not question.
“We did it! But how do we get past that guy?” Rainbow Dash pointed to the Nightmare Force blocking the dungeon’s entrance and exit.
“How about we talk to him?” suggested Fluttershy. “I’m sure we could talk to him.”
“Fluttershy, this thing is loyal to Nightmare Sparkle, also known as Nightmare. He will never join us,” said Rainbow Dash.
“But that doesn’t mean we can’t try, Rainbow,” said Fluttershy.
“I have a better idea. Why don’t we fly over him?” suggested Rainbow Dash. “Me, Fluttershy and the princesses can carry those who don’t have wings even outside the dungeon.”
“That’s a good idea, Rainbow,” said Fluttershy. “But let’s take it one by one or it will be all at once?”
“It’ll be one by one, Fluttershy.” Rainbow Dash began to stretch to get ready.
“Dashie, what will we do after we leave the castle?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“We’ll punch Nightmare Sparkle,” replied Rainbow Dash.
“How many times do I have to tell you, Rainbow?” Applejack asked angrily. “If we hurt Nightmare Sparkle, we’ll be hurting Twilight!”
“Applejack, please. Don’t scream. You’ll end up waking the Nightmare Force,” said Fluttershy.
Applejack remembered that, and took off her hat. “I’m sorry. I forgot. But what will we do after we run away?”
“We don’t have a plan on how to defeat Nightmare Sparkle yet, so I’m afraid we will have to stay hidden in the Canterlot Castle until we come up with a plan,” said Celestia.
“Princess, what if Nightmare Sparkle attacks Equestria with the Nightmare Forces?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Then I fear we will have to act fast and have a plan in mind. But first we need to get out of here.”
