Chapter 1 : Hell's Gate

Is there a place worst than Tartarus in Equestria?

Canterlot Castle

Third Person's POV

It's been a thousand years since these events started happening and Celestia was thinking about them everyday after it first happened.

Flashback

"Princess! We have brought you the pony!" One of the royal guard said while motionning to his comrades to bring in the criminal. It was an average looking pony but his fur was a taint of crimson, the very colour of blood.

"Do you know why you are here?" Celestia asked the pony in front of her, this pony in question was mad because of the rule of Discord, or so they though but he actually was aware of what he did after the defeat of the Spirit of Chaos.

"Of course Princess! That's because I gently ended the pitiful life of this worthless bunch of a family!" He exclaimed with a mad look on his face, but Celestia knew that this pony was in fact not mad, because the way he killed the poor family of only a mother with her filly, was something only a doctor could do, not only did he killed them, but he experimented on them by 'studying' the anatomical structure of a pony.

"Fool! You shall be sent to the dungeons for thy actions!" Luna exclaimed with her Canterlot voice, but then something unexpected happened, one of the guard was acting weird but then without a warning, the guard jumped on both of the Princesses intending on stabbing the both of them with knives, but it wasn't just any knives, it was an artifact made by the Spirit of Chaos that was rumored to be able to kill an Alicorn.

The guard then saw the two bodies of the Alicorns meaning he was successful with his assassination and could now rule over the kingdom, or so he though, instead of what he though would happen, he was stopped in mid air by an unknown force, it wasn't magic because no aura of levitation was around him, the witnesses were equally as confused as him, after a while, the cause of this unexpected event started to reveal itself in the form of chains, but these chains had something special about them because no chains would be able to slither around the body of the pony while making a sound that Celestia would remember for the next millenia and beyond, but then, what felt like a storm started happening Inside the Castle and then, a gate appeared in the throne room, but this gate was massive and had two skeleton of unknown origins sticking out of them, to an outsider, it just looked like two terrifying doors with the same magnitude as the Castle gates but standing in mid air.

The gate then opened and the two princesses would be forever scarred of the sight they were seeing, inside the gates were not the other side of the throne room, but a completly different world with a sky with the same crimson colour that covered the pony wrapped by these unholy chains, they could all see now that the chain's origin was inside this gate and that the other world was a painful one to live in, not only could they see unending fire inside it, but they could see shadows roaming the world, some of them were massive and others were ants compared to them, but the only thing that the witnesses would remember forever was the unending screams of tortured souls, a scream that the poor pony still in the living world started to do as the chains were starting to pull him inside this world.

Then a massive limb with a gigantic sword came out of the gate and impaled the pony, but instead of dying, the pony was still alive then started to turn into glowing dust that was sucked in by the gates, after that the limb retracted in the gates as they started to close, then the gates were fading away like dust, the same dust that the now dead pony turned into.

End of Flashback

After these events, Celestia and Luna were haunted by nightmares, even if Luna was master in DreamWalking, the nightmares they were having were impossible to get rid of, everytime she though she ended the existence of the nightmares, they kept coming back to haunt them, these were the same nightmares that aggravated the mental state of Luna turning her into Nightmare Moon, after sending her own sister on the moon, she now not only had to deal with one nightmare but two.

She had to endure the nightmares and at the same time manage Equestria for over a millenia, a millenia of suffering, recalling about that she started to giggle a little, the reason behind that is that it reminded her of the suffering souls inside the gates that were probably suffering longer than her life, or even longer than the age of the world, this made her laugh from this dark joke that the souls she wasn't able to save endured something worse than what she was enduring, she hated to admit it but the souls sounded like they were suffering longer than her age, wich was over three millenias, now that she though about it, she may have gone mad from the mental pain she was having for the past millenia, not only was she having nghtmares of the gates, but report of ponies being taken by them were coming every month, this was very unsettling because it means that these gates are eternal and that they would haunt her for the rest of her life.

It would have been true thats he would be mad if she didn't meet the many kind ponies during her life, the many student she had under her, if not for that, she would have truely gone mad and now, she was happy, not a false happiness she had as a mask in front of her subject but a genuine happiness because of the fact that her sister would return soon, not only because of that but because her recent prodigy was very brilliant, even thought she lacked social abilities, this prodigy of her was somepony to be truly proud of.

And now she had a great plan, a plan that not only would destroy the barrier that Twilight had that was unabeling her of social interaction, but a plan that would return her sister to her too, a truly perfect plan, and now she needed time to prepare this plan of her...

Canterlot Library...

"Spike! Spiike! Spike?" Twilight was searching for her assistant and only friend beside her BBBFF to help her found a book about an old legend, well two books actually.

"Twilight? What's happening?" Spike said worried that something bad is happening for Twilight to scream like that.

"No, I just need the book about 'The mare on the moon' and the book about 'The Gates' " Twilight said, Spike looked confused and a little scared.

"The book about the mare on the moon I can but why 'The Gates' too? It's so scary that I had nightmare for two weeks!" Spike said, the book was indeed terrifying, it was written by Celestia herself and talked about the same gate she encountered so many years ago, it's normal for a child like Spike to be scared of these cursed gates, but it was just a book and it didn't have any images in it beside a drawing representing the gates open with countless unknown being showing terror on what would be assumed as their faces while their whole beings were melting in the fire that was covering them.

"It's just a book Spike, ok maybe the content of the book maybe traumatizing but it's still just a legend." Twilight stated but still had doubts about it being just a legend because it was written by Celestia herself, and she knew that her mentor wouldn't be so violent in her writtings without witnessing them personally.

"I really really hope your right." Spike said while bringing the two books.

"Hmm interesting..." Twilight said unconsciously.

"What? what is it?" Spike asked with fear because everytime Twilight said that, she would turn into a complete maniac who was HUNGRY for knowledge, but this time it suprisingly didn't happen.

"The two books have something in common, they said that the reason that the Princess's sister turn into Nightmare Monn concerned the Gates, it is said that the two sister, after witnessing the Gates for the first time, were haunted by nightmares about them, nightmares that not even the Moon Princess could banish, nightmares that turned her into Nightmare Moon. It also said that the Gates were connected to Tartarus but that it's not really verified or even true to begin with because the book talking about Tartarus, if I remember correctly, didn't mention beings being tortured or anything like that, in fact, Tartarus is known to only contain dangerous beings, not torturing them." Twilight said, Spike looked more terrified about these Gates and hoped that he would never have to encounter them...

Castle of the two sisters...

The time of the return of nightmare moon.

"The Night, will last, FOREVER!!!" Nightmare Moon exclaimed in victory after destroying the Elements of Harmony in front of the poor Twilight.
(A/N: I was too lazy writting the whole frindship speech after that so I skip it.)

After it was done, Twilight and her friends woke up with necklace representing their cutie marks.

"I never though that friendship was so important, I was even able to meet friends because of it, I'm truly happy now." Twilight sateted while smiling with her friends.

Then the sun started to rise, shining on Equestria once again, and from it Princess Celestia came out.

"Twilight Sparkle, you did well, it is nice to see you." She said to Twilight who was hugging her.

"Princess Celestia." Twilight friends said in unisson while bowing at the same time.

"If only somepony else could understand this, Princess Luna." She said while turning to said Princess, but something was wrong, there indeed was Princess Luna laying on the floor, but next to her was none other than Nightmare Moon.

"You..." Celestia started to say but before she could continue, she saw that Nightmare Moon started to scream in pain.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH WHAT IS THIS? CHAINS? WHY ME?" Nightmare Moon said before struggling to move, nopony knew what was happening but Celestia, she knew because she saw the same scene happening before but this time, it was more violent.

Chains started to appear on the body of Nightmare Moon, slithering around her entire being as if to make sure that she wouldn't escape, but unlike last time, the chains seems to be hot and very painful in the contact of skin because the witnesses could see steam coming from the chains that were getting hotter and hotter as time passes, then the ruined Castle walls started to blow away because of a powerful wind destroying them, letting the sky fully visible.

Then the same Gates that were the source of her suffering reappeared in the sky high above, but now the whole sky started to change colour, turning from light blue to blood red in the mere span of one second, then, they oppened, the Gates oppened letting the ponies see the atrocities inside them, they could see the same thing they were told when they were only foals, stories about a place worst than Tartarus, and this particular place was right before them.

This time however, Celestia noticed how violent and aggressive the Gates became, they seem to want Nightmare Moon so bad that a powerful storm started to happen in the bloodied sky, a storm that came from the Gates which were sucking in everything that couldn't withstand the pull of the wind, sound that burning flesh made made the chains sounded like they were roaring in anticipation, never before Equestria has seen such violence and is hasn't been ten minute yet, then something started to come out of the gates and Celestia expected it to be the same limb she saw, but she didn't expected it to be multiple being with the same massive limbs trying to reach Nightmare Moon like hungry Timberwolves, it was terrifying and traumatizing.

Then, the moment one of them grasped the body of Nightmare Moon, they all started to dismember the mare, tearing her limb, twisting her whole body while countless litter of blood started to flood out of her body, then, when the limbs retracted in the Gates, the Gates closed with a loud thud that echoed throught the entire Everfree Forest.

The ponies that were witnessing this were frozen through the entire event, even Luna who was the main victim of Nightmare Moon's malice felt bad for her, but once again, these gates took a pony for a reason that nopony in the current era would know. The reason of that being the "Evil deeds" or "Sins" made by everypony taken by the Gates, and when the "Sin" wasn't bad enough for the gate to appear, it was only a traumatizing sight that they would have, such is the punishement for Celestia who had made many sins during her life even if they weren't bad enough to make the Gates appear...

Here goes my first one shot fic, if the writting is bad and weird, that's because I made it at 2AM, don't ask how I ended up writting at that time because I don't even know, I just had the biggest inspiration in my life after watcching Bleach Hell Verse.
