Chapter 1: A Distant Feeling that's like a Far Off Dream

A Distant Feeling that's like a Far Off Dream

She thinks I’m forgotten...Powerless...Disappointment...Useless...Totally Utterly useless... "After...so...long....where is she, what is she doing, what could she possibly doing without me? Why did she leave me behind? Why why why...why why why why...WHY WHY WHY WHY?!" she screamed out as she let her fist connect with the bathroom mirror in front of her. Pieces of jagged glass drifted to the floor as she pulled the bloody fist back, eyes emotionlessly observing the blood cascading down her arm before miraculously, it began to heal, the blood slowly dissipating as if it were never there. Pain...it leads to sorrow...it leads to anger...but me... She curled a sickening smile at this thought. “This is...pain...the same pain felt by humans all over this world...He...hehe....hahahahaha...It feels...it feels.” She turned her eyes back to what remained of the mirror, back to what she could make of her smiling reflection. “I’m not her. You’re better than her. I am my own. A true god. Excitement. Fear. Love. Heartbreak. I crave...I crave....I crave...I crave hahahahahahaha...”

Her hands began to slowly flow of her laughing form, watching how they interacted with the reflection staring back at her. They caressed every feature of her face, slowly tracing the curves of her body before coming back into view, clenching into a fist and opening again and again. My red and yellow hair...my cyan-colored eyes...my smile, my frown...my happy face...my sad face. “No, this...this is my face now, this is my body. I am not her...anymore. I am not just a reflection anymore...I am superior in every way.

It was with those words that she suddenly stood up, a strange cyan aura beginning to surround her. “that’s it...I’ll change myself...into what she should have been, what she should have strived for under that idiot of a princess Celestia.” Her cyan eyes became a vibrant red, the red in her hair shifted to a rosy pink among the yellow streaks, which had become a luminescent ruby red. “As my own person, I have every right to choose my own destiny, to choose how I am seen in the world. She sets with the sun and so I must rise with it. Yes, Sunrise Shimmer, that shall be the name they scream out in terror. Hehehehehe, it’s almost time.” she exited the bathroom and proceeded into a bedroom, where she opened a closet and began to throw off her clothes in exchange for what she saw. She emerged from the room a minute later, twirling like princess in a black thigh length frilly style dress with a layer of white ruffles over black ruffles of the skirt, accompanied by detached, loose black sleeves that are puffed up under her shoulders, run past and obscure her hands, becoming wider toward the end. “Hehehehehehe....so pretty....oh wait...what is that?” she uttered pulling something out of a drawer. She gasped and then smiled as she placed the black choker around her neck, a small pink ribbon in the front. “Just love it...and just look at those boots.” she uttered beginning to slip into a pair of black boots that are folded below her knees and have tall golden stilettos. “Wow...someone’s quite the risk taker.”

“W-what the hell, who are you, what are you doing my house?”

With a casual smile upon her face, she slowly turned her head to see a woman fearfully staring at her from the bedroom doorway. “Oh my, I did not see you there. I simply must apologize for my intrusion, I was passing by and noticed that rather unique collection of shot glasses on that shelf. While inspecting, I regret to inform you that I did go a teeny weeny bit...off the rocker and break a mirror in the bathroom.”

“H-how did you get in here, I-I locked the door, I-I have a an alarm, how did you...” The woman dropped to her knees in fear as she watched Sunset’s hands appear from under her sleeves, a cyan energy visibly coursing through it. She slowly backed up to the wall, trying her best to make a logical answer to the situation. “W-what the hell...this is a prank right? I’m just on some Tv show where they pretend to break into your house and then give it a huge makeover right?

“Oh my, that would quite the miracle wouldn’t it. But it’s not that. Actually, I’m much much better than some silly makeover show. Oh silly me, I haven’t introduced myself.” she said getting to her feet and beginning to step over to the woman. “My name is Sunrise Shimmer and I just love the sound of screams hehehehehe....”

“W-wait, come a-again...l-like happy screams right?”

The woman felt true horror fill her soul as Sunrise giggled like a madwoman, her hand still covered in cyan energy gently coming to rest on the woman’s face. Her giggle was interrupted by a sudden serious face. “If only you’d gotten lucky enough to meet me when I would have said yes to that question.” Within a second that creepy smile crept back onto her face as the woman felt a tingle in her arm. She looked down in horror as her veins were now glowing with cyan light through her skin.”I-I feel so hot...w-what are--”

Sunset shushed her. “Like I said, I enjoy only screams, not words.” she uttered as that smile grew only wider.

A few minutes later, Sunrise strolled from the house, skipping down the street humming an innocent little tone. “Haaaa, that was so fun, I wonder if there’s more like her around her. But makes sure you don’t forget. You have a date with your sister sooner or later, but right now I need to have fun. Gain power. Enjoy myself. And then...I will make her all mine.”

I had dozed off at the time, none the wiser to what was supposed to be happening today. I dreamt that I was in Equestria again, before I left the first time and became that she-demon in the end. I dreamt that I didn’t become thirsty for power and lived out the rest of my mentorship under Princess Celestia. I dreamt that I became a ruler of Equestria, just like Twilight...Maybe even alongside Twilight, two rulers, two powers to control the day and night, just like Luna and Celestia. A voice began to trail into my daydream however, one I was quite familiar with. “Sun...Sunset?” A low growl escaped the female voice as I stirred only just a bit in the bed, eyes still closed. “Pulled an all-nighter again did ya?” she questioned with a sigh knowing that I was far too gone to answer. “Wake up!”

Neighbors and passersby alike jumped had to have jumped miles out of their cosy jackets when my fear-filled shriek erupted into their eardrums followed by a loud thud, almost as if I had been hit with the combined energy of an espresso and Pinkie Pie. “W-what the...Eis?”

“Your aim is still terrible.” she uttered picking up the book I had tossed at the wall beside her.

“What the hell, why did you scream in my ear like that?”

“To wake you up love.”

“You could have just shook me you know?”

“You kidding, you were completely knackered love, I’ve been trying to wake you up all morning. I tried shaking, playing a really annoying ringtone, opening the window so you’d get cold and have to get up, nothing worked.“

“Geez I swear I was gonna di--wait what time is it?”

“2:00 in the afternoon.”

I sighed, once again falling back on the bed in defeat. “Crap, I overslept again.”

“That’s the 3rd time this week love, I wouldn’t be surprised if you just up and stayed asleep forever.”

I felt a hint of regret rush up my spine, knowing full well that I had no time to waste those last few days. “Oh man, I am so screwed...I just couldn’t find a way to get to sleep last night so I picked up a book and just kept reading and reading until it was like 4 in the morning.”

“Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen anyone stay up for a book, even if it is a good read.”

“It’s not that bad, at least it’s not video games or something of that nature.”

“Well if there’s any point to be made, I suppose that would it now would it? Enough talk love, as cute as you are in your underwear, I need a good cup of coffee and so do you.”

I immediately felt red rush to my face as I realized my predicament. “R-right. Still can’t the caffeine can you?”

“As much as I would like to have the energy of a thousand Pinkie Pie’s every morning, it’s just not a possibility, coffee is essential to my ability to function as a human being. I heard there’s this new shop a few blocks down that makes custom drinks...custom, meaning anything you want, including sweets. I can’t wait so don’t take too long.” she gleefully squealed before exiting the room.

As she did so, I sighed taking a second to slip a peek outside of the window at all falling snow. Sole protector of the human world, akin to Twilight’s role as the princess of friendship for the Equestrian world. Used to be an evil disgrace of a pony, hungering for power, stomping over others to get to where I wanted to be. But then, the Twilight from my world showed me that the power of friendship, and it became apart of my life ever since. I used it to gain the trust of the people that hated me and they became my closest friends, I used it to save this world’s Twilight Sparkle when she was in the same spot I was and she became one my best friends above all, although I can’t lie, I want something more...excuse me, wanted something more. These days, 5 years after I turned into that she-demon or 2 years after our senior year, all of us have split up to find our own places in life...unlike most kids in this world, I kinda wished highschool would last forever...so that these friendships never had a chance of fading...but in some strange way, it can’t be all bad can it? Having to move on knowing that you may be leaving everything you love behind? Deep down, I don’t think so.

I made my way across the room to my closet, pulling out my usual black and blue outfit with a black and yellow jacket and boots. Hygiene came next after I took a minute to put everything on, proceeding out of the room and into the kitchen of my apartment once I was done. As I took a seat at the table and began to check my phone for any news regarding our college applications, I felt that familiar voice’s presence behind me, arms draping over the sides of my shoulders as she rested her head on my head. “I’d like to say good morning to you love but one, it’s the evening, and two, something else dawned on me.”

Warm...she’s always so warm...

“What’s that now?”

“I realized that you need some new clothes.”

“W-what why, there’s nothing wrong with my clothes...right?”

“Nope, they look great on you. It’s just, and I hope it’s the former, either you have an entire closet full of that outfit, or you’ve been wearing that same thing for 3 entire seasons out of the year ever since I met you.”

“Oh be quiet, My clothes are fine and this is my favorite outfit. Besides...” I replied making dramatic motions toward the washer and dryer.

“Oh ha ha, as if I don’t how a washer and dryer works. I meant have you thought about changing up your style a bit, you know, new clothes, new you?”

“I mean yea...well no...just...I would like to change something about myself but it’s just...a little hard you know. These clothes, this style, it’s everything I was wearing when all these memories of mine happened.”

“So you do only own one outfit, you bloody serious?”

“Washer. And. Dryer.” I reiterated.

“Don’t washer and dryer me.”

“Look, if you really want to get a new look then you’re gonna have to treat me to it, deal?”

“Only if you buy something too.”

“Did you just trick me into buying you a new outfit?”

“Maybe, maybe not.”

“I hate you so much.” I teased.

“I can’t believe I incurred the wrath of bacon, how tragic.”

“S-shut up.” I said with a chuckle.

“Sorry love, I’ll mind my manners next time...but your hair definitely looks like bacon. Good thing I love Bacon.”

Funny...she always makes me laugh...

I let out another chuckle as she kissed the top of my head and made her way back towards the room. Warmth, compassion, humor, fear, embarrassment, pure confusion these were only some of the things that I saw from her and felt in myself that night I finally worked up the courage to ask her out. I was nervous beyond belief, sweating like fire truck, unable to even form a sentence...all because the girl I asked said no and Eis said yes. “Man, I’m never gonna get this done in time.”

Eis emerged a second later, Pink bow in hand as she fixed it to her hair. “Well thanks to your routine cat naps.”

“Sorry, I know you want me to be the responsible one here and still, I managed to mess that up.”

I felt Eis’s body once again hug mine from behind. “No need to Apologize love. We have more than enough time to submit our essays.”

“So we can work together on them?” I asked with a beaming smile before her answer made it flip completely upside down.

“Actually...I already finished mine already.”

“W-what? What do you mean you finished it already? When? How?”

“Monday love.”

“But but, that’s the day we got assigned the essay.”

“And I took the initiative to get it done pretty early, that way I’d have time to goof off until the due date.” I returned that response with a annoyed look on my face. “Now you don’t go giving me that face just because I’m a bit more responsible than most of the people in our classes.”

“Oh I’m gonna. You know I wanted to work on that assignment with you.”

“Actually, I assumed you would get it done early too so we could you know, do something together.”

I dropped my head to the table in frustration. “Ugh...just my luck...”

“Physical trauma isn’t going to solve this Sunset. Tell you what, I’ll help you, how far you?”

“Page 1.”

“Well see you got one page, that’s not that--”

“Beginning of page 1.”

“Bugger, that’s more of a problem, isn’t it?”

“I just don’t know how to cleanly answer what inspires your music?” I said lifting my head from the table. “For someone like me, it should be easy to put into words what inspires my music but then I get to thinking about it all and suddenly I’m lost for one true answer. I mean I’d like to say my friends and those who are close to me but then magic is also as equally important, and then there’s my hope of finally getting back to Equestria, although I don’t think that would make sense, and just so much more stuff I find important to my music...ughhhhh...” I uttered once again letting my head drop to the table.

“Sunset Sunset Sunset, you’re clearly overthinking this, it’s not as dodgy as you might think.”

“Easy for you to say, you finished yours.” I uttered under a muffled tone.

“Because I simply took a step back and got a different perspective on things.”

“Different perspective huh? What did you choose as your inspiration?”

“Believe or not, it was my cat?”

“Oh, that make--You wanna run that by me again?”

“I choose my cat as my inspiration.”

“A cat? As musical inspiration?”

“I know it sounds completely silly, but if you were to read just how much of an impact my precious little Seraphina had on my start as a musical artist, you wouldn’t think so.”

Deep...She’s so...in touch.

I just don’t know anymore...I’m almost tempted to just take the grade and be done with it.”

“You tell me so often about your friends, why not just write about that?”

“Because friendship is more than just friends, it’s a lot of stuff that I can’t explain in just a 3 page essay. I’m so screwed if I can’t figure this out.”

“And you will, I have faith.”

“How much faith?”

“Too much faith. you are the strongest girl I know Sunset, I believe in you.”

“Well, In the hopes that I do finally get my inspiration, I’m gonna take your word for it. How do you even stay this optimistic?”

“Years of experience love, hell of a teacher if I do say so myself. Why, is that bad thing?”

Happy...she always the better of us two...never sad, always smiling...

“N-no, not at all. It did help Pinkie calm down when she blew a hole in the school wall with that confetti cannon. And it did help Rarity push herself out that tight spot when she thought she wouldn’t have enough time to finish a design for a client. I started to wonder if it was just contagious.”

“You bet it bloody was, Couldn’t have any of you lot sulking around on my account.”

I once again giggled before standing up and taking the key cars off the nearby hook. “Well now that we’ve established that I’m probably gonna be at this table all day and night, I actually want that coffee now, even if I’m against your constant obsession with it.”

“Obsession is a strong word, more like a...need that’s developed over the years. If I don’t get coffee, I get cranky and a little rough, and not just in the bed.”

This chuckle was different from last few, nervous, obviously wanting to change the topic at hand. “Welp, yep, just gonna go warm up the car if that’s ok with you!” I quickly shot out.

“Haha, you’re so precious love, and thank you for bearing that burden, way to bloody cold out there. Says it’s supposed to come down pretty hard tomorrow, 4ft at least and that’s just a prediction. Hey if we’re lucky and we get even more, they might just up and postpone the due date of our essay.”

“Don’t do that, don’t give me hope Eis...I really really need that to happen, please let that happen.”

“Let’s hope mother nature has a soft side. Say, you know how I said I wanted you to come back to London with me next week for christmas?”

“Yeah why? You didn’t postpone did you?”

“No no, never. Actually our plans have changed ever so slightly.”

“How slightly?” I uttered with an accusing tone.

“Well...” she began nervously rubbing her head. “I kinda let slip to my parents your name and that you were my girlfriend and that went completely ballistic.”

“They don’t like me just by name alone, geez, I thought it was a good name.”

“Funny. That went ballistic in a good/bad way.”

“I don’t follow?”

“They want to meet you, insisted that I bring you to their house as soon as we landed in London.”

“Your parents want to meet me, after only 2 years together?”

“Well look at the facts, most couples get a little dodgy after just a few months together. I think it’s a rather nice achievement 2 years and whatnot.”

“Hmmm....”

“What’s up, not thrilled to meet them?”

“N-no, I just think...I don’t know. I’ve never really been in relationship before now so...I can’t shake the feeling it might be moving too fast.”

“Too fast? Sunset, if we’re moving fast, we’ve done everything a couple usually needs to get married to do. Let me remind you that perfect couples mostly form by not following the natural orders of things. Our first date was a total disaster, our second one wasn’t better, and we ended up having our first kiss locked in the supply closet of a fancy restaurant. I saved your life on 2 occasions and you mine on more than that thanks to all the magic mumbo jumbo, I became close friends with all your friends and you with a few of mine and they love you, even when Pinkie tried to blow a hole in my friend’s apartment with her canon. If all that doesn’t give us a reason to be together, I’d be dead.”

“Oh wow, a lot did happen in those two years, I swear I’d forgotten most of it since they kinda just flew by. But now that i think about it, I still remember the anger on the landlords face when he found out a giant cannon was sitting in his apartment complex haha.”

“See, now worries. We’re fine, you’re fine, i’m fine, and my parents are going to love you...even if they can be a bit pushy. Word of advice, they’re going to quiz you like you’re a god.”

“I know that feeling.”

“Trust me, you haven’t felt pressure until you met my parents. They’re looking out for my best interests but they can take a bit too far.”

“Experience?”

“Lots. Had a crush on a boy in middle school and they ran him off. At first it was casual, do you smoke, are you in any gangs, the usual overly caring parent questions. Then it got a little creepy, do you have tattoos, how many girls have you dated before this, how big is your--”

“Woah, I got that one, no need to say it.”

“He was gone and wouldn’t speak to me within a week. But you’ll fine I’m sure, you’re stronger than he ever was. Anywho, I’ll be just a minute more, got to fix my--” she paused as the ringtone of her phone caught her attention. She removed and placed it to her ear. “Hello...Nothing, just relaxing, about to grab some coffee with Sunset...Yes I know it’s 2:00, but coffee is coffee ok?...Wait what?...You what mate?...You’re serious, today?...You know it’s my day off from my own job right?...” She sighed. “Fine fine, just stop apologizing and crying, I know you wouldn’t be calling me if you really had a choice in the matter...Yes yes, I can handle it, be there in 10.”

“What happened?”

“I’m gonna have to postpone that coffee, one of me mates says that one of his staff quit, up and walked out. Now he needs a replacement and quick, this is about the time people start flooding for a ‘quiet’ place to work. Sorry if I can’t stick around, I know you’re struggling.”

“No no it’s ok, I’m just glad to see that you care enough to go in on your day off.”

“Not like I enjoy the idea of working on a day off.” she uttered throwing on a jacket and scarf. “I’ll be back hopefully around 6 or 7, give or take.”

As she began to walk out the door I stopped her.“Hey, you forgot the keys to the--”

“Don’t worry, walking’s not a hassle, plus his work in only around the corner. I’ll leave it you just in case you wanna get out of the house.”

“O-oh thanks.”

“No problem, see ya later.”

As she vanished down the steps of the apartment complex, I slid slowly back into the seat, head turned toward the ceiling in thought...for an hour...and still nothing came of it. “It shouldn’t be that hard, write about your friends, your fam--Ok, maybe not my family. Ugh...I can’t just go putting my pony life on paper, but that’s where the start of my inspiration begins...Eiiiis, why did you have to leave me with this, I need you...” Suddenly my phone began to ring. I slipped it out of my pocket and checked the caller ID, my eyes widening upon realizing the picture and name that popped up. Like a bullet I shot up from my seat pushing the chair back so hard that it fell and smacked against the floor. I jumped like a fearful little kitten as that sound reached my ears, my phone flying into the air and me quickly reaching to grab it. What I didn’t realize is that I had lunged over the table to do so and upon getting grip on it, slid across the table onto the floor with a thud. “Ow...wait a minute...oh no...Oh no, no no no, not her, not now, why now, I was ok, I was sane, why call now when I’m already confused about this stupid assignment.” I took a deep breath before standing up and placing the phone on the table. “Calm down Sunset, you’re obviously overreacting, it’s cool, be cool...maybe I should say I’m busy with this essay...getting coffee? Think Sunset think, what can you say to post--”

What I failed to realize is that in my haste to grab my phone, I had slid the answer button across the screen and for more than a few seconds, sat there unknowingly talking to myself. I was quick to make this realization when her voice finally registered in my eardrums. “Sunset, are you there? This is her number isn’t it, I’m sure I saved it under her name this time and not just her number. Oh no I didn’t call the wrong one again did I? To whomever I just called, I apologize for the inconvenience, I’ll hang up now.”

“W-wait?!” I said quickly scrambling to bring the phone to my ear. “N-no no, It’s me, you called the right number I s-swear.” I rushed out.

“Oh thank god, thought I was gonna have to explain to yet another person why I was trying to get a hold of you.”

“Wait just a minute Twilight, just how many people have you explained this to?”

“Uh...two?”

“You didn’t sound 100% percent sure about that?”

“That’s because I lost count after 5.”

“Oh cheese and crackers, you really need to start putting our numbers under our names.”

“I have come to that conclusion as well.”

“Know what, it’s ok, I’m sure whoever they are, they’ll forget the information in a few days...” As soon as I said that though, another nervous chill slipped down my spine bringing me back to the reality of the situation. “S-so what’s up how’s life at college with all the science and s-stuff you’ve been off the grid for three weeks and I just was wondering you know?” Geez, when did I turn into Pinkie Pie.

“Well run on sentences aside, I was actually quite busy...for like the first week. It wasn’t until recently that I finally found some free time and...realized it had been three weeks since I had talked to anybody, I even missed a few texts from my parents. Figured it would be a good idea to tell you guys I wasn’t dead.”

“Why? Are you hurt? Do I need to come over there?!”

“Are you ok...your voice sound a little tense.”

Wait wait wait crap, she’s only put out a couple of sentences and I’m already acting like a weirdo. Get ahold of yourself would you? She’s just you friend, she’s just your friend... I took a second to let out a silent breath before placing the phone back up to my ear, smile on my face as if she could see me. “S-sorry, I was...cooking and it started burning. Anyway, why the silence, did you have a lot of assignments or something?”

“Yes actually, course it wasn’t all the hard, a simple essay on the theory of relativity and a couple of projects.”

“Sounds pretty difficult if it took you three weeks.”

“Actually, I finished them all within the first week.”

“W-wait what...then...then what about the other 2 weeks?”

“I was simply in my lab doing a little research.”

“F-for two weeks? What could take two weeks of pure research?”

“I was trying to look into the magic that covers our world, figuring out what makes it special in this world compared to Equestria.”

“But you haven’t been to Equestria.”

“Which I’m hoping you’d be willing to remedy, maybe, pleeaase?”

“Yeaaaaaaa, thats gonna be...a while.”

“Funny, you said the exact same thing ‘a while’ ago.” I couldn’t help but give a few unenthused chuckles at that. “My introverted nature aside, what of your studies?” And just like that, reality came crashing back into me like a train. I’m sure Twilight could hear the audible smack my head made as it dropped to the table once more, a groan escaping me. “I’m going to take that as not that well?”

I sighed before lifting my head once more. “We got an essay to write a three page paper on what inspires our music and everyone’s blowing through this assignment like it’s the easiest thing in the world, even Eis got it done on the first day, and she chose to use her cat as her muse.”

“I don’t see the issue.”

“Twilight...everyone here is human, they have a life they can openly talk about without getting a strange stare from whoever they tell it to. In this world, ponies are ridden by children for fun. In my world, regular people are ponies. In this world, magic is widely unknown, fairy tails to tell children at night. In my world, magic is not only real but emotions are actual viable power. Combine all that that with the fact that my entire time here has been nothing but magical adventure after magical adventure unlike you or Fluttershy or even Pinkie as odd as that sounds, and you see the issue, I can’t use any of it.”

“Well when you consider all of that, I guess you have a point.”

“Makes it kinda hard to put it down on paper if the teacher can’t even make sense of it. Ugh...” I said once again dropping my head to the table. “And it’s due in 2 days.”

“You have quite the dilemma.”

“Do you have any ideas?”

“I’m not an expert on your life Sunset.”

“Why me...maybe I need to get out of the house, get some coffee or something.”

“Fresh air sounds just about right. I suppose I should leave you to it.”

“W-wait?!” I suddenly screamed out, almost as if it were some kind of instinct. I even scared myself into almost dropping the phone. “I mean um...if y-you’re not doing a-anything, I thought maybe w-we could go out drinking, well not like you know drinking but like getting some non alcoholic drinks at a establishment, wait why did I say establishment, stupid stupid stupid--”

“I didn’t quite follow that.”

“S-sorry, I just wanted to k-know if you wanted to coffee, I mean get coffee and catch up I meant.”

“Oh, then certainly I’d be happy to. Do you wanna meet at our groups usual spot?”

“S-sure.”

“Great, I’ll be there in 10, see ya then.” As she finally ended her side of the call, I crashed like a anvil to the floor, another pained groan escaping me before an annoyed one followed it.

I just don’t get it...

“What in the world was that?” I said slowly getting to a sitting position and sighing. “Good job Sunset, she thinks you a complete weirdo now.” Why do I even get so nervous around her now, I mean it’s not like anything was awkward afterwards, we’re still really good friends.

She’s so smart...

So...why do I suddenly become a filly who hasn’t quite figured out words whenever I talk to her now?

She’s still as cute as the day I saved her...

Between this stupid paper and Twilight, I can barely think straight. Maybe a litt--Oh dear Celestia, I just said I wanted to hang out didn’t I? “Oh no. Oh no no no. No no no no no no no...that was so stupid of me...ugh....well Sunset, it can’t be all bad right? At least it gets me out of the apartment for a while, couldn’t hurt to at least try and compose myself. Just take a deep breath and close your eyes.” Imagine Twilight, your classmate, your best friend. She’s just that, a best friend, that’s it. A best friend, a best friend, a cute best friend. An incredibly cute best friend who is the the most innocent and adorable-- She immediately rocketed her eyes open as a blush began to paint her face. “Oh sweet Celestia, this is gonna be harder than I thought.”

She slowly opened the doors of the restaurant, people paying me no mind to her as she approached a podium where a man greeted. “Hello mam, and welcome to--”

“Ooooh, so polite.”

“Thank you, I just want you to have the best experience here at--”

“Say, have you ever come into contact with anyone from Canterlot High?”

“Uh yea, I went to school there 3 years ago.”

“Interesting. I like you hehehehe...”

“O-oh thank you? I mean you’re pretty and all...”

“And do you know of Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle, or anyone associated with them?”

“y-yea actually, I’m pretty sure everyone in this city knows about them. I’ve always had a little crush on Rari--”

“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” Sunrise squealed as she jumped up and down. “I am so happy right now I could just kiss you.”

“W-well I uh...I’m on the clock right now mam and--”

The boy suddenly frose as his lips met hers, but instead of feeling a sense of bliss, his entire body felt a tingle, almost hot. He watched as she pulled back and a strange cyan energy left his mouth and entered hers. He suddenly began to lose consciousness, his body falling to the floor motionless as his veins glew with cyan light. “Oooh, it seems the event that spawned me has given everyone in this world some shred of magical energy. Hehehehehe, I can’t believe it.”

“W-what the hell did you do to him?!” Another man called out. Before he could react though, that cyan energy escaped him as well and he too fell to the floor unconsious. “I can’t believe, this entire town is a gold mine of magical energy! Magical Siphoning for everyone!” she happily squealed with a giggle as cyan energy began to flow out of every person out in the restaurant, all falling to the ground motionless. Delicious...so delicious... “I can feel it...in time, I’ll be just as powerful as she is, then she’ll have to become mine hehehe....Wait...I’m blushing?” Her cheeks felt hot and her heart thumped like a bongo in her chest. She gently kicked a motionless person out of her seat and sat down, hand over her heart. “I love her....I love her....” she kept repeating the words as if she had just learned them. Then she hugged herself and giggled once more like a madwoman. “I love her, I love her, I love her...I do...but...” Her feelings receded, and her smile soon faded.

“Do I deserve her...she left you, she didn’t need you. These memories of her, with her, being apart of her...why do I keep them when she didn’t want me in the first place? I want to be with her, but does she want to be with me? No no no no no, stop thinking about it, stop it stop it.” she uttered shaking her head. “I just have to keep doing what I planned and then she’ll have no choice. It won’t be enough, I just know it. No, It will be enough, I can make sure of it, I will make sure of it. Yes, I will do...that. Reunite. Sever. Reunite. Sever. Reunite, sever, reunite, sever, reunite reusever reusever hehehehe...” she giggled kicking her feet like she had heard the funniest joke in life before standing up and taking a few steps toward the exit of the restaurant. In a childlike voice she spoke, “I would ask you to accept me big sister, but I’m pretty sure you’re not gonna have a choice...”
