NETO(North Equestrian Treaty Orginization) an MLP:FiM Fanfic by MidouSan

Prologue

A decade after a collection of stories from Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends was published under the title “Book of friendship”, the Equestrian government, spurred by this book, began searching outward, for more friends.

They first went up north, to where the snow constantly fell and they thought nopony could dwell. But much to their surprise they found a collection of hearty and humorous ponies, who referred to the land of collected cities as Canadia. Common grounds were found and alliances were made. The Equestrian government noted how the Canadiians had organized their government into a unified nation of city states, deciding to formulate themselves into a similar system, the United States of Equestria, or USE.

Although a border between Canadia and the USE was formed, it was merely symbolic and a way to differentiate the two territories. They were both organized under a banner of North Equestria, South Equestria having been decided to be the lands under the domain of the Zebras and Mules however they saw fit. There was no rivalry between Canadia and the USE, a fact immortialized when the Hoofmasons from Canadia and USE built a small arch at the most travelled border crossing with an insignia that read “May these gates here never be closed, by hoof or conflict”.

Over the past century these two nations have harmoniously staved off war together, vowing to never again suffer conflict, seeking universal peace. They first attempted formation of the League of United Hooves. Sadly, an old ally broke from the LUH, the Communehoof of Stalliongrad which vowed to crush the North Equestrians. In response to this threat, the USE and Canadia formed an alliance with a country on the borderlands with Stalliongrad, the United Kingdoms of Hoofington. The USE, Canadia and the UKH formed NETO, the North Equestrian Treaty Organization.

As another two decades passed, the Communehoof of Stallongrad and its related territories crumbled under its failing system of governance. Stalliongrad retreated to its original city state collection, leaving the remaining territories it controlled to form independent states. NETO stepped in and helped many of those nations freed from the Iron Curtain of the Communehoof find their way.

Since those times, NETO has become a progenitor of peace and harmony worldwide. It is still a defender of both of its member territories, many of whom are former Communehoof states, and of course the original Alliance of Canadia, USE and the UKH. Processes were designed for those nations wishing to join, with a strict criterion on the nation needing to value its citizens harmony and freedoms, and a further call for the country to be tolerant and respectful to all ponies.

These are tales of the NETO; tasked with enforcing peace, love, and tolerance both nationwide and globally.
