Soarin was pacing the hospital reception waiting for news from his wife Rainbow Dash. She had gone into labor 2 hours ago, and so far he had no news about her.

"Because it's taking so long, is she okay? What if something is wrong with Dash or the foal, and if-" Soarin was cut by Twilight who was also in the reception room along with Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie & Rarity

"Soarin calm down! She'll be fine, I'm sure she's doing great inside" Twilight said

A few minutes later Nurse Redheart left the delivery room with a smile on her face.

Soarin immediately flashed a huge smile on his face, so he began to walk into the delivery room.

When he entered the first thing he saw was his beloved wife lying on the bed, her horsehair worn and holding a small foal in her hooves.

"Rainbow" Soarin said

"Soarin" Rainbow said weakly

Soarin started to walk to the bed and took Rainbow's side. He was amazed at his new foal.

"Oh Rainbow is he handsome, is he a filly or a foal?"

"Filly"

Soarin smiled again so he leaned over and kissed Rainbow Dash on the forehead

"She's just beautiful, she's our little Wonderbolt"

"Soarin ..."

"Can you imagine our daughter in the Wonderbolts?"

"Soarin"

"She'll be the most amazing of all!"

"Soarin ..."

"What was Dashie? Any problem?"

Rainbow bit her lip before speaking

"Soarin, there's something you need to know ..."

"Have you decided any names for her yet?"

A few minutes later Pinkie Pie came into the room with Rainbow's other friends.

"So where is the cutest baby in the world?" She said

"Well..."

A few days later, Rainbow Dash and Soarin were released to go home with the baby. They were still a little nervous about Snowflake being blind, but even so they were going to love their daughter to death very much.

Soarin was feeding Snowflake with her bottle while Rainbow Dash was resting a little. Caring for a baby really was hard work, but luckily Snowflake was a very calm baby. She only cried when she was hungry or when she was in pain, or when she realized that her parents were not around.

Even though she was blind she seemed to be a very clever foal. She began to recognize the ponies and the things that happened around her by her hearing, even though she couldn't see it, she could hear everything happening around her.

"Ready Snowflake?" Soarin said as he gave Snowflake the bottle. She soon stopped sucking the bottle and tried to speak.

"Paggghhj"

Soarin smiled and took her foal in its hooves and kissed her on the forehead, so he patted her back to make her burp.

"Soarin is all right here?" Rainbow Dash said

"Yes Dashie, Snowflake just eat I think she's sleepy now" Soarin said handing Snowflake to Rainbow Dash

"Ok I'll make her sleep"

Then Rainbow Dash flew to Snowflake's room and put her in the crib.

"Hello Snow, are you sleepy? Well I'll sing a song for you to sleep" Rainbow Dash said as she stroked Snowflake in the crib. She then began singing the lullaby to Snowflake.
A few minutes later she finally fell asleep and then Rainbow Dash leaned over and kissed her on the head.

"Good night my little Snow, I love you"

The next few days Snowflake hosted a welcome party hosted by Pinkie Pie.

"And now who is my favorite baby in this world? Yes it's you!" Pinkie Pie said as she played with Snowflake

"Snowflake is really beautiful Rainbow Dash" said Fluttershy

"Thank you girls" Rainbow said

"Uh Rainbow look" Twilight said pointing to Snowflake and she was trying to fly.

Rainbow's eyes widened and she quickly flew closer to her daughter and caught her.

"Take it easy Snowflake, you shouldn't be flying" Rainbow said as she held Snowflake

"I thought you would be more excited that Snowflake was flying Rainbow," said Rarity.

"Yes ... But I sincerely want to keep her from flying" the other ponies seemed to have confused looks.

"Well ... With Snowflake being blind I'd rather keep her from flying alone, I'm afraid she'll get hurt" Dash said

"This is a totally common fear Rainbow, but don't worry about it I'm sure she will always be safe by your side, you'll see this is just mom's concern" said Applejack

"Perhaps..."

The next few years were great, Rainbow Dash and Soarin were living very happy with their daughter Snowflake. And this year Snowflake was finally going to school. Not so excited about this was Rainbow Dash, she was very protective of her daughter, and because she was blind made her even more cautious. She protected the entire house from any kind of accident, Snowflake's room was protected with several clouds to prevent her from getting hurt. Soarin thought his wife was exaggerating a lot about Snowflake's blindness, but she always said she was just protecting her baby.

"Snowflake!" Rainbow Dash called his daughter downstairs.

"I'm leaving, mommy!" Snowflake said as he tried to go downstairs. Rainbow Dash then flew over to her and caught her in her hooves.

"Here let me help you," she said as she placed Snowflake on the couch.

"What do you want to tell me? Did I do something wrong?" Snowflake said

"No, your dad and I have been talking a lot and .... We decided it's time for you to start attending school" Rainbow Dash said

"A school?" Snowflake said

"Yes, it will be great for you, you can learn new things and the best you can make some friends!" Soarin said

Snowflake stopped for a second

"Do I really have to go? I don't know if it's going to be very good for someone like me ..." Snowflake said lowering his ears.

"Why not Cute Pie?" Soarin said

"Did you bring Snowflake to play in the park today?"

"Yeah, I thought it would be good for her, and I'm honestly not quite sure about her going to the same school as other foals, you know today's foals can be pretty cruel."

"Hey don't worry Rainbow, my daughter Nova Star Sparkle studies there, and from what she tells me the foals seem to me to be very kind."

"Perhaps"

Snowflake was running through the park when suddenly she didn't see that there was a tree right in front, and so she hit the tree.

"SNOWFLAKE!" Rainbow Dash said as she ran to her fallen filly.

"Are you alright?"

"Snowflake?" Rainbow Dash said as she walked over to the bed where her baby was sleeping.

She then gave a slight push to wake Snowflake but she was still sleeping soundly. Soon after another push from her mother Snowflake finally began to open his eyes.

"Snow wake up, today is your first day of school"

Snowflake yawned and then bent to hug her mother.

"Do I really have to go?" Snowflake said

"Trust me Snow, I'm sure it will be really cool" Dash said

"I think..."

"Good morning girls, is Snow ready for the first day of school?" Soarin said as she entered the room.

"I'm still a little nervous, I mean, what if they don't like me?" Snowflake said

"Hey don't worry about it I'm sure they will love you, after all there is no way not to like an amazing filly like you right my little Snow" Soarin said as he took Snowflake and kissed her forehead.

"Ok, I think maybe it's cool ..." Snowflake said

"You heard Snow, come on don't be shy," Rainbow Dash said as she pushed Snowflake closer to Cheerilee.

"Don't listen to these two idiots, they're the brothers Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt they keep teasing the foals in the room, but you just have to ignore them."

"Alright, you're Snowflake right? Nice to meet you I'm Butterfly March"

Snowflake was on the floor not knowing what to do, all she had to do at that moment was cry.

"What's up? It's gonna cry? But it's a baby, isn't it? I heard your mother is Rainbow Dash right? Look I think you're adopted because she looks at you and looks at your mother, she's Equestria's best flying and Wonderbolt, you both have absolutely NOTHING in common, I bet she's even ashamed of a failed foal that you can't even see its hooves! These insults were making Snowflake cry in fear on the bathroom floor not knowing what to do as the foal laughed wickedly at her.

Then Nova Star Sparkle came into the bathroom and saw her friend being harassed by the foal.

"What's going on here?" She asked

"Oh nothing little princess, Snowbat just stumbled and fell to the ground and now it's crying like a baby, well I better go!" Sandstorm said as he left the bathroom

Nova Star Sparkle then approached her friend and helped her to her feet.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, I think so..."

"What happened here?"

"Nothing ... I just tripped and fell like Sandstorm said"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes..."

Nova Star Sparkle nodded and decided not to investigate further. Soon after the two foals returned to the classroom.

A week later...

Snowflake week at school has had its good side and its bad side. The good thing was, she had great friends she could always tell and they were always there for her, and the bad thing was that Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt's provocations to Snowflake didn't stop, but the provocations only got worse.

Snowflake's friends always defended her when they noticed the taunts, but they weren't with her all the time, and when they weren't she didn't know how to fend off the taunts, she was too shy and sweet to do anything. She didn't tell her parents about the teasing even to Cheerilee.

She knew they were silly insults but sometimes they made jokes and insults that crossed the line, and she could do nothing about it. The result was this, she was harassed at school because of her differences, even though she was too shy to do anything to defend herself, she still stood firm and strong.

But what she didn't know was that today was going to be the worst day of her life at school.

It was school recess time, and everyone in the room was gathered in the courtyard in front of Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt.

"And today my sister and I would like to give the title of weirdest school pony to Snowflake!" Thunder Bolt said

"I think you meant Snowbat brother!" Sandstorm said

Then everyone in the room started laughing.

Snowflake was with her friends across the yard as she listened to the insults of the two foals.

"These two are very stupid!" Said Apple Sweet

"Yes they have no idea of ridicule!" Lumina said

"Calm girls just ignore it" said Nova Star Sparkle

Then the twins began flying toward the six friends along with a group of ponies.

"Look guys the bat is hiding with his friends!" Sandstorm said while laughing and everyone started laughing too

That's when Snowflake got up the courage and decided to tackle them for the first time.

"Enough now! I've been putting up with your teasing a lot but that's awesome!" Snowflake said

"Look Thunder Snowbat finally decided to brave us? I doubt she has the courage to face us again after that," Sandstorm said, waving at his brother.

Thunder Bolt then picked up a baseball bat and used it to hit Snowflake. All the ponies around were laughing at the foal's situation. When she was all hurt and unable to defend herself she simply lay on the floor and began to cry.

"That's what you deserve for being in this stupid school! Look around nobody here likes you and your friends don't even tell you because they are complete idiots just like you and if you want real friends you'll die trying! But there guys let's get started! Bat! Bat! Bat! " Sandstorm said

Then all the other foals started laughing and calling Snowflake a bat.

"Enough Sandstorm! You and your brother have now crossed the line!" Said Nova Star Sparkle

"You don't know how ridiculous you are doing this to a pony that can't even defend itself!" Lumina said

Then the bell rang and all the foals rushed into the room. Snowflake's friends helped her into the room because she was too hurt to go alone.

When Cheerilee realized the situation of the colt her eyes widened and then she quickly went to the wounded colt.

"Oh my god, Snowflake! What happened to you?!"

Snowflake's friends then told Cheerilee all about what had happened at recess and the other bullying events of the week.

At the end of the day everyone went home except Snowflake, Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt. They had stayed for a meeting with their parents.

When Rainbow Dash and Soarin arrived at school and saw their daughter injured, they immediately ran to her and hugged her.

"Snow, what happened to you ?!" Rainbow Dash said desperately

Snowflake didn't answer she simply put her face on her mother's chest and began to cry as Rainbow Dash hugged her.

Soon after she was in mother bear mode.

"So we just have to wait for Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt's mom to arrive and then we can start," Cheerilee said.

Soon after the door to the living room opened revealing the mother of the twins. Rainbow Dash's eyes widened in surprise to see who it was.

"Hello Rainbow Dash, how long isn't it?" It was Lightning Dust, Rainbow Dash's old rival

"Lightning Dust! I should have known these were your children! And I can't believe you're living near Ponyville!" Rainbow Dash said in an annoyed tone

"For you to see how life is full of surprises" Lightning Dust said

"Very well can we start?" Cheerilee asked and everyone nodded.

"Very well today at the time of recess the daughter of Rainbow Dash and Soarin was harassed by the foals Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt, and from what they told me this was not the only time they did it, but today has crossed the line because I want to report that bullying here is inadmissible here. "Shhhhhhhh it's alright Snow, mommy is here with you" Rainbow Dash said as she stroked her daughter's head.

"Mommy I don't want to go to school anymore" Snowflake said while crying

"Snow don't say that, you need to go to school" Soarin said

"But if I go again they will hit me again ..." Snowflake said

"They won't do it because I won't let it happen to you again," Rainbow Dash said as she kissed Snowflake's head.

By night everyone went to sleep, Rainbow Dash was sleeping in his bed when suddenly the door opened revealing a foal with a half frightened face.

"Snowflake?" Rainbow Dash said as she opened her eyes

"I had a nightmare ... I dreamed that all the foals in the room beat me and called me a bat ..."

Rainbow Dash then flew over to her daughter and picked her up in her hooves, then flew back to bed and the two of them lay together.

"Don't worry about the nightmares they are not real"

"Are you sure? Because it seemed very real to me, and besides that it's true ... "So how are you doing Snow?" Asked Nova Star Sparkle

"Why don't you go to school anymore?" Apple Sweet said

"Snow if this is because of those two idiots you don't have to worry because I'm sure after meeting with your parents they won't do any more teasing to you" Lumina said

"I agree with Lumina, Snow go back to school, you miss there" Butterfly March said

"Well I..."

"Come on Snow! Say you're coming back!" Li'l Cheese said

"Can we all get ready for this race right away? I want my children to win this race soon and prove they are better than this bat" Lightning Dust said

Soon after all the ponies that know and love Snowflake began to cheer and encourage her to fly.

With all this encouragement, she finally managed to get off the ground and began flying to try to reach the twins.

The twins decided to take a break to rest.

Soon after Sandstorm and Thunder Bolt approached Snowflake.

A year later Snowflake was finally six years old, and was living happier than ever with his parents and friends. And now it was the time of year she liked best. The winter.

She loved to feel the snow, even though she can't see what it really is like, she still loved it from the heart.

One day when she was in the yard of her house playing in the snow she began to collect the snowflakes falling from the sky. And with that she would take them home and start making various kinds and sculptures and other kinds of crafts with the snowflakes.

Once her parents came into her room and saw her making their sculptures then they decided to interrogate.

"Snowflake?" Rainbow Dash said

"Yes mommy?"

"About these sculptures you are making ..."

"Is that bothering you? Oh I'm sorry mommy and daddy I swear I won't do this anymore-"

"No honey, we just want to know how you did it" Soarin said

Snowflake wasn't believing all she was doing at that moment was jumping from side to side with such joy.

With that Soarin and Rainbow Dash flew to a cloud, and Snowflake tried to keep up.

"Come on Snow you can do it!"

Snowflake flew as high as possible and finally she had made it to her parents.

Soarin and Rainbow Dash then pulled her into a huge hug.

"This is our little filly"

Soon after Snowflake's friends arrived and invited her to play. She then said goodbye to her parents with another hug and a kiss on the cheek.

Dash and Soarin were still sitting on the cloud just watching their daughter run to play with their friends.

"Our little daughter is growing up Soar"

"Yeah, as hard as we have to let her go one day, she will still be our little filly"

Dash then nodded and put his head on Soarin's chest and he put a wing around her.

"She'll be a great flyer one day, that's for sure" Dash said

"Yes she will be as good as her mother," Soarin said as him kissed Dash's cheek, and she returned with a quick kiss on the lips.

"I love you Soar"

"I love you too Dashie"
