Lt. Colonel Akula, known to the Solar Empire as "The Demon Lord of the Changelings", now forced to fly of the Legion of Discord, accidentally stumbles upon something that could turn the tide of the war in Discord's favor... Akula then escapes from the LoD with vital intelligence, runs into the Lunar Squadron during their engagement north of Neighlis AFB and defects to the NLR.

Now flying for the NLR's 1st Experimental Fighter Squadron of the 245th Research Unit, Akula will take back the skies of Equestria from the Solar Empire and the Legion of Discord, and participate in some of the biggest battles of the war. Will he succeed in leading the NLR to victory? Or will the enemy aces eventually get to him?
