This is a tale which takes place a thousand years before the happenings of FiM. Equestria suffers from economic and cultural drudge due to the aftermath of the recent Great War.
A historic relic is destroyed, releasing something unknown across all of the land. While the denizens of the country continue their struggles or depravity, something that even time has disremembered catches up to them.
A group of powerful beings who transcend space and time are born with the power of Arch. These beings are generally good, and they are usually tasked to stabilize their homelands using their gift. One human with this gift considers it a curse, one that has plagued his family for generations. All but stubborn to use it, he shall be unwillingly thrusted into Equestria, forced to abandon all that he had.
This stubborness had formed due to the ties he and his family cut to a vicious gang in the United States. Found at the peak of the boil, his former gang raids his home and attempts to end his life. He emerges victorious and finally looks towards a placid future.
Fate having it, he instead lands in Equestria and must find a way home. He will soon figure out that neglecting his gift, and himself, will only serve to cause him harm time and time again. But through this, he will make friends and relationships, some more intimate than others, as he trudges across this slowly sundering world.
