Canterlot dining room

Simba was at the dining room while both Kion and Spike were sparing with each other at the training camp, he remembered when Kion used to spar with Sarabi and Nala, then he started remembering when he and Nala, his closest best friend turned wife used to do a lot of things together as a family, Simba started to cry softly for the lost of his wife "Simba, what's wrong?" Celestia asked "It's nothing, Tia." Simba answered "Simba, you've got tears in your eyes, meaning that there's something wrong, what is it?" Celestia asked "It's Nala." Simba answered "You're still thinking about her?" Celestia asked to which Simba nodded and pulled out his PDA, he showed her pictures and videos about him and Nala "My god, she's beautiful." Celestia said as she sat down with her lover "She was more than that, she was faithful, loving, caring, and never gave up on anyone including me." Simba said, his voice breaking from crying "Simba..." Celestia tried to say "I couldn't save her quickly, if I didn't wait for orders from my superiors, she would still be alive." Simba said in tears.

New York, seven weeks ago

Simba went to the city, he went against his superiors' orders to stand by, he searched the mall where Nala was shopping, when he found Nala, he found her in bad shape, she had a deep gashes on her left leg and a bullet wound on her side "Nala!" Simba said as he picked her up and headed for the armored truck outside of the mall, Simba put Nala in the back of the truck and looked for the first aid kit "Simba..." Nala said as Simba found the first aid kit and opened it "I'm gonna get you to safety." Simba said as he grabbed the bandage wrap "It's too late for me, Simba, those Blackwatch fucks manage to shoot me instead of the monsters and one monster with a hood got me in the leg." Nala said weakly "You're gonna make it, Nala, just hang on." Simba said as he wrapped the bandage around her leg "I can't go on, Simba, I don't think I'm gonna make it." Nala said weakly "Don't talk like that!" Simba said as he tightened the bandage wrap "It's okay, you're gonna be okay." Nala said comforting her husband "Nala, I can't lose you, not like this." Simba said, his voice broke from crying "Remember what I said, Simba, don't let the past get to you, when I'm gone you'll find someone who loves you like I do." Nala said weakly "Nobody can replace you." Simba said in tears "You're right, Simba, but I'm sure whoever falls in love with you will help you find the light in the dark tunnel." Nala said weakly "Nala, please, don't leave me, I love you." Simba said, his voice broke from crying "I'll still be with you in spirit." Nala said as she rubbed her paw on Simba's cheek and kissed him on the lips "And no matter what, Simba, I will always love you." Nala said as she closed her eyes and passed away in front of Simba, when he saw that Nala wasn't breathing he started doing CPR on her, trying desperately to revive her "Nala, don't leave me, please!" Simba said as he pressed Nala's chest ten times and and gave her three rescue breaths in her muzzle, he kept doing this for three times but unfortunately she was already long gone, Simba hugged Nala's body and started crying, then his radio got a call "Hasnuu, where the fuck are you? You were told to stand by, that was an order." his commanding officer said through the radio "Your fucking orders got my wife killed, Jackson, now thanks to you, I couldn't save her in time!" Simba shouted through the radio "Hasnuu, listen to me, you're not thinking straight, come back to base for debriefing, over." Jackson said, Simba then closed the back door of the truck and drove back to the military base.

Military base

Simba parked the truck next to the military base while the rest of Simba's squad including his commanding officer went outside to check on him, then Simba got out of the truck and went to his squad "I'm not in the mood for jokes, Jester, because I just lost my wife." Simba said in anger "What the hell happened to her, sir?" Jester asked to which Simba opened the back door of the truck and they saw Nala's body "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to bury her." Simba said as he closed the door and went back to the truck "You're going against my orders again, Hasnuu?" Jackson asked "With all due respect, Jackson, fuck your orders." Simba said as he drove off.

Canterlot dining room, present day

Celestia couldn't believe that Nala passed away due to blood loss, she felt so bad for Simba losing Nala "So that's why you blame yourself for Nala's death, if you have gotten there sooner, you would've saved her by now." Celestia said as she put Uru on the table "Sweetie, Nala's death wasn't your fault, it's Blackwatch who is to blame." Celestia said as Simba broke down crying which caused Celestia to hug him "Shh, let it out, sweetie, it's not healthy to bottle up your emotions, just let it all out, Shh." Celestia said in a soothing tone as Simba kept crying "She's always with me ever since we were cubs, she never gave up on me and I never gave up on her." Simba said, his voice broke from crying "I know, Simba, but don't worry, she's with God now." Celestia said, comforting her lover "Tia, you remind me of Nala, you're sweet, kind, caring, compassionate, and loving, you and Luna." Simba said, his voice broke from crying "You the same, Simba, I love how you're always so sweet, compassionate, caring, and lovable, I love you, Simba." Celestia said as she kissed Simba on the lips.
