First day of school
"c'mon cadets! First day of training, let's go!" Strike and Light Dash jolted out of bed after hearing their father blow the whistle he kept around his neck.
"Dad, please!" Strike groaned, rubbing his tired eyes. "Just five more minutes?"
"Not so fast, kiddo." Soarin replied. "It's your first day of school today."
"We know, Dad!" Light moaned, his green eyes scanning the room before looking up at his father. "But can't we just have at least five more minutes?"
Soarin smirked. "You two are just like your mother." He chuckled. "Stubborn as a mule."
"Heard that!" Rainbow Dash called from downstairs. The twins giggled at their mother's words as they sat up in their beds and stretched, with Strike hitting his head on the ceiling of the boys shared bedroom.
"Breakfast time!" Rainbow Dash called from downstairs. The smell of bacon and pancakes drifted up the stairs and into the bedroom. With a impossibly large grin, the twins raced downstairs and quickly ate their breakfast. "Slow down, boys!"
A short while later, Strike and Light have d finished their breakfast and packed their school bags, ready for their first day of High School.
"Got everything, boys?" Rainbow asked.
"Yep!" The twins replied, sliding down the stairs. "Today's gonna be awesome!"
"well," Soarin said. "You two better get going or you'll miss the bus!"
"Right!" Strike said. "See you later Mom and Dad!"
"Yeah," Light added. "Love you!"
"Be good, boys!" Rainbow called after them before the front door was slammed shut.
"Well, hey definitely have your personality, Crash." Soarin stated.
"hey!" Rainbow replied, gently punching Soarin in the shoulder.
Meeting the others
Aquamarine and her twin brother Spyro were walking towards CHS, their new High School. After a while of silence, Spyro spoke up. "Hey Aqua? I wanna race." He said.
Aquamarine looked over at her brother. "Spyro, we'll be at school in less than ten minutes. Try not to act so enthusiastic about our first day. Who knows, I'll be making more friends than you ever have." She snorted, walking ahead.
"Hey, not fair!" Spyro growled, catching up with Aquamarine.
The duo soon arrived at Canterlot High. Spyro looked around and spotted Diego and Apple Berry by the WonderColts Statue. Walking over, he greeted. "Hey, dudes!"
Diego tipped his Stetson back onto his head. "Howdy stranger." He replied.
Apple Berry smiled politely. "Hi. I'm Apple Berry and he's my brother, Diego. You are?" She asked.
"I'm Spyro. My sister and I just moved back here from the City." Spyro replied.
"Cool. Wanna hang out with us at lunch?" Diego asked, looking up from his timetable.
"Okay, sure." Spyro replied. He looked at his own timetable and asked, "so, what classes do you two have?"
Diego replied, "I have drama, maths, science and woodshop. What do you have?"
"Maths, art, science and woodshop." Spyro stated. "What about you, Apple Berry?"
"Geography, science, drama, food tech." Berry replied. "Too bad I haven't got any classes with you guys."
"Dude, you're stuck with my overdramatic twin sister." Spyro commented. "Believe me, you do not wanna cross paths with Aquamarine."
"I'll try not to." Berry replied with a smirk. The bell rang loudly across the school, signalling the start of homeroom. "Well, we best get to homeroom. I definitely don't want to risk a detention on our first day."
"Me neither." Diego added. The trio soon began walking into the school.
---------------------
"Dude, I think we're late!" Light exclaimed as the bus slowly rolled up to the stop outside CHS.
"Oh, chill out will you!" Strike grumbled. "Geez, you're acting like Uncle Fire."
"Well, excuse me for saying this but we're going to get a detention on OUR FIRST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL!" Light growled, walking off the bus. "Didn't you read the Code of Conduct?! It clearly states that all student must be in homeroom before 9.00 or an immediate detention will be given out!"
The twins entered the school without another word. They arrived at homeroom and took their seats.
Strike glared at Light.
Light glared at Strike.
Finally their teacher, Miss Cheerilee, entered the classroom. "Good morning my students. Now, we have some new WonderColts joining us today." Cheerilee greeted with a smile. She turned to the door and stated, "come on in. Don't be afraid, my students won't bite."
Three freshman students entered the classroom. "Class, this is Tigerclaw, TJ and Honey Bear." Cheerilee motioned towards the three. "I trust you'll welcome them with open hearts."
"TJ, TC?" Light asked. "Dudes!" He darted forward to the duo and hugged them.
"Do you boys know each other?" Cheerilee asked.
"Yeah, Strike and Light Dash are our cousins." TJ replied. "It's so great to see you, Light!" He exclaimed, turning back to Strike.
Strike rolled his eyes and looked away. Spyro, who sat next to him, asked. "You not gonna say hi to your cousins?"
Light looked away and replied, "it's complicated." Before returning to his notebook, where we was currently drawing a picture of him and Light with their parents.
Classroom catastrophe
After the bell rang, signalling the start of first period, Strike darted to his first class, History. TJ ran after him. "Strike!" He exclaimed.
"Go away, TJ!" Strike returned. "I'm not in the mood, not now!"
"You don't wanna give your favorite cousin a bear-hug?" TJ asked.
"Look," Strike stated, stopping in his tracks. "I'm sorry I didn't say hi to you or Tigerclaw this morning. I've had a lot on my mind. Uncle Fire disappeared a few months ago, leaving only a note saying he'll be in touch as soon as he can. It's been three months and Mom and Dad haven't had a single call from him."
"What do you think happened to him?" TJ asked.
"Something must've happened between the time he ran away and now." Strike replied. "Tell you what," he turned around to face TJ. "Come to mine tonight with Aunt Alopex, Tigerclaw and Uncle Button Mash. I'll see if I can track Uncle Fire down tonight."
"Deal!" TJ replied with a smirk. "Now, let's go to class, shall we?"
"you bet!" Strike replied before the duo entered the class.
Mr Cranky Doodle was sat at his desk. He stood up when the two entered. "You're late!" He warned.
"Sorry sir, we were with Vice-Principal Luna." TJ replied.
"Take a seat." Cranky told them. "Today we will be learning about something different. We will be learning about the fight that happened outside in the school field a few years ago. Any questions?"
TJ raised his hand, reluctantly. "Sir, why are we learning about this instead of ancient history?" He asked.
"We're learning about this because if-" the door opened once more, interrupting what Cranky was about to say. He turned to the door and barked, "you're late!"
"Sorry sir." Diego replied. "We got a bit lost trying to find the classroom."
"Apology accepted." Cranky said. "Take a seat."
Diego took his seat beside Honey Bear at the back of the classroom while Apple Berry sat next to Tigerclaw.
Cranky continued his explanation. "As I was about to say, we're learning about this instead because that fight was the biggest fight better the Elements of Harmony and an ex-Element."
Berry raised her hand. "Mom told me it was her brother, DJ who started the fight." She said.
"That is correct... Erm...?" Cranky replied.
"Apple Berry and that's my brother, Diego." Berry replied, pointing towards her brother.
"Okay, Apple Berry. Would you or Diego like to tell us exactly what your mother told you about the fight?" Cranky asked.
"Well.... Umm... Mom didn't go into detail about the fight, but maybe she and Dad could come in tomorrow and talk about it?" Diego pointed out from the back of the room.
"Good idea, Diego." Cranky replied. "Maybe all the Elements of Harmony could come in and talk about what happened."
"Awwe man!" Strike groaned. "Looks like I'll have to do some more research tonight."
Light chuckled. "Cheer up, bro." He said. "Anyway, what research are you taking about?" He asked.
"I'm looking into Uncle Fire's disappearance." Strike replied. "Something doesn't add up."
"Look, whatever it is, we'll look into it after school." Light assured. "He's probably gone into hiding incase DJ strikes again."
"I don't know," Strike said. "He hasn't called Mom back even once. He hasn't texted or anything. Something must've happened between the fight and now."
"He's probably had a lot of stuff going on. Just relax for a bit. I'm sure he's fine." Light said before turning back to his notebook.
Suddenly, there was a firm knock on the door. Principal Celestia entered the room. "Could I please borrow Light Dash, Strike, Honey Bear, Diego, Aquamarine, Spyro, TJ, Tigerclaw and Apple Berry?" She asked.
Cranky turned to the class and nodded. "Of course Celestia." He grunted as he sat in his chair.
The rest of the class stayed silent as the said students walked out of the room with the Principal. "What's wrong, Principal Celestia?" Diego asked after a while. "We're not in trouble, are we?"
"Of course not, Diego." Celestia assured. "I fear it is much worse than any of you can think of."
"What happened?" Aquamarine asked.
"You will need to talk to your parents about the details, but I'm afraid none of you, or your parents, are safe." Celestia stated as the group entered her office. Standing around the Principal's desk were Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Alopex, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Thunderlane, Soarin, Button Mash, Cheese Sandwich and the other Elements of Harmony, excluding Fire Blaze and DJ.
"what's going on?" Light asked, walking over to Rainbow Dash and Soarin.
Rainbow sighed. "Guys, we need to talk." She replied, turning to Soarin.
Confession
Rainbow sighed. "Guys, we need to talk." She replied, turning to Soarin.
---------------------
"What's wrong?" Strike asked, breaking the silence.
Applejack turned to Diego and Berry. "You guys remember the story Ah told ya about DJ?" She asked.
"yeah," Diego replied. "What's that gotta do with this?"
"it appears he's coming back for revenge." Braeburn stated. "He's coming back to finish what he started."
"But what about Uncle Fire?" TJ asked, looking up at Alopex. "Where is he?"
"no one knows." Alopex replied, tears threatening to run down her baby blue cheeks. "He hasn't called once or texted to say he's alright. I'm worried somethings happened." She choked out, wrapping her arms around Rainbow.
"That's exactly what I thought!" Strike said. "Something must've happened between after the fight and now, like I've stated millions of times today."
"He's right." Twilight stated. She walked forward and added, "we need to find him, before you-know-who does."
"Twilight's right." Rarity said, standing up. "Fire Blaze must've gone into hiding to stop DJ from finding him and to protect us... All of us." She stated, gesturing to the younger ones.
"If Fire wanted to protect us, wouldn't he call to say he's alright?!" Rainbow argued. "He hasn't said a word or anything since he ran off like he did when we were kids, Rarity!"
No one dared say a single word afterwards. They were all thinking the same thing...
What happened when Rainbow Dash, Fire Blaze and Alopex were kids?
Memories
Applejack looked over at Rainbow. "What happened when you were kids, Dash?" She asked.
Rainbow sighed, looking down at Alopex. "It all started back when we were younger..."
--------Flashback--------
"We were playing a game Fire had made up called hide-and-seek catch. If one of us had the ball, we had to find the others and throw the ball to them when we found them...."
"hey Rainbow! Catch!" 8 year old Fire Blaze called. As expected, 6 year old Rainbow Dash caught the ball, laughing as she fell backwards. The two of them were playing in the back yard.
"Mom and Dad found us outside one day, just gazing up at the clouds, thinking about our lives if we were ponies, and what breeds we would be...."
Thunderstorm and Lightning exited the house, both with angry expressions towards Rainbow and Fire.
"Rainbow Dash, Fire Blaze! Get inside now!!" Thunderstorm growled.
"You heard your Father. Inside!" Lightning added. With their heads hung low, the duo waled inside and sat on the couch beside their 4 year old sister, Alopex.
"Mom and Dad gave us one heck of an earful for a lecture. They also sent us to our rooms without dinner that night..."
you two need to learn to be responsible for yourselves, and Alopex!" Lightning snarled. "Instead you two just played outside like a kitten with a yarn ball. You two need to grow up!"
Thunderstorm stood next to his wife, equally as angry. "Go to your rooms this instant! And Blaze, pack your bags, you're going to learn how to be responsible for yourself come dawn." Their father stated, picking Alopex up and walking into the kitchen without a second thought.
The duo looked at each other, confused before reluctantly walking up the stairs to their rooms. "Night, big brother." Rainbow cooed.
"Night Lil' sister. Sweet dreams." Fire replied in a hushed tone before retreating to his room and packing his large rucksack.
"Dawn came a little too fast and soon enough, Dad booted Fire to the curb, telling him he's not allowed to see Alopex or I until he learned to be more responsible...."
"but Dad! I didn't do anything wrong!!" Fire insisted.
"I don't care, Fire Blaze! From this day forward, you're no longer my son and you are no longer allowed to see Alopex or Rainbow Dash until you learn to be more responsible!" Thunderstorm bellowed before slamming the front door.
-------End of Flashback--------
As her tale ended, Rainbow could no longer stand as he knees buckled and she collapsed to the floor in a sobbing heap. "Oh, Dash." AJ sighed, shielding her eyes with her Stetson. "Ah would've been heartbroken if Mah Ma an' Pa kicked Big Mac out."
Rainbow sniffled. "It wasn't until a month after Camp Everfree that everything spiralled out of control. Fire turned up, asking for his sisters, Alopex and Rainbow. I had to hold Alopex back before she tried to murder him. We soon found out that Fire was back for good, back to put things right with Mom and Dad. Told us he'd been living with a friend of his in Klugetown before he came back." She took a deep breath before continuing. "Gambled his savings in a game of poker against a few friends before deciding to try and find us."
Strike, who had been taking notes since being called into the Principal's office, finally came to a conclusion. "I think a road trip to Klugetown is in order." He stated, finally putting his notebook and pen away in his rucksack. "If Uncle Fire was living their with a friend of his during the time he was kicked out, maybe he went back there to go into hiding?"
"worth a shot." Light commented. "But that place is deadly, right?" He asked, turning to AJ and Sunset.
"What's life without a Lil' risk, eh?" Spyro commented, smirking. Aqua kicked her brother's shin, hard enough to leave a bruise. "Ouch! Mom, Aqua kicked me!!" Spyro wailed.
Rarity chuckled. "Aquamarine, Spyro. Enough of this for the time being, please!"
"Listen you your mother, kids." Thunderlane added, rolling his eyes, laughing half-heartedly.
"fine!" The twins huffed, glaring daggers at each other before looking away.
Klugetown
Meanwhile, far from Canterlot City, Fire Blaze stood in the doorway of a tall building. "Cap, you ready yet?" He called into the building. Capper, Fire's housemate, was currently trying to find his jacket.
"I'll be out on a second, Fire Blaze! Then we can head to Caelano for that poker game." Capper replied. A few minutes of crashing and breaking vases and other items, and Capper finally left the house.
"Finally! What took you so long?" Fire huffed, closing the door and locking it before walking past Capper and into the town.
"Couldn't find my lucky jacket." Capper replied, cooly. "Found it under the mattress while searching for my deck of playing cards and a snack this morning."
Fire rolled his eyes. "Look, I'm only doing this because I want to keep a low profile until this whole ordeal with DJ is over." He stated. The duo soon reached Caelano's house and knocked.
"Enter if you dare." Called Boyle, opening the door. "Fire Blaze, Capper. Enter." He stated, allowing the two to enter. "Capt. Caelano's waiting at the table for the three-way poker game. You brought the cards?" He asked, turning to Capper.
"You bet." Fire said, pulling out the deck of cards from his pocket. He also took out a pocket watch and opened it up, seeing a picture of him, Alopex, Rainbow Dash and TJ, Tigerclaw, Strike and Light Dash on one side. "I sure miss you dudes." He muttered to himself before putting the pocket watch away.
"Then take your seats and let's play!" Capper cackled.
---------
Fire and Capper took their seats at the table opposite their opponent, Captain Caelano. Fire dealt the cards and put the others in the cent of the table. He picked up his deck, two aces, a king of diamonds, queen of hearts, 10 of spades and two jacks. "Cap, you start." Caelano stated, shuffling her cards.
Capper looked over his deck and produced a jack of diamonds. "Beat that, Caelano!" He taunted.
Caelano smirked and produced the king of clubs. "Easy, Cap." She mocked. "Blaze, your turn."
"Try this on for size!" Fire smirked, revealing both the king of diamonds and the queen of hearts. "Top that, dude!"
"It. Is. On!" Caelano chuckled lowly. She looked over her deck again and frowned. "Fold." She called, placing her cards face up on the table. Capper soon did the same. "Guess you win, Fire Blaze." She stated, standing up.
"So where's the loot?" Fire asked. He and Capper stood up from the table, arms crossed. "You promised us a bag containing a million dollars and shelter from DJ incase he tried to find me again!" He thundered.
You already have shelter, At Capper's house. As for the money, you both receive $500,000 each." Caelano said, pushing two large bags of cash in front of them.
"This should be enough to get back to the city and see my sisters and nephews. Plus my friends and their kids." Fire remarked. He and Capper finally said their goodbyes and left the house, returning to Capper's. "Hey, Cap. Thanks for letting me stay... Again." Fire stated, unlocking the door and stepping inside. "I really appreciate it."
"Any time." Capper replied, taking his jacket off and hanging it up on the front door. "So, you going tonight or...?" He asked, turning to Fire.
"Tonight. Surprise the Rainbooms and the kids." Fire answered. "I'll text a friend and say I'm heading back... And to prepare a welcome home party." He punched Pinkie's number into his cellphone and sent a text.
----------------
PP- Fire Blaze!! Nice to hear from you again! What's up?
FB- Pinkie, I need you to prepare a 'Welcome back to Canterlot City' party for me. Don't tell the others I'm coming back tonight.
PP- But can I tell Sugarcube and Honey Bear? I'll make them Pinkie Promise not to tell the others.
FB- Fine, just make sure no one else knows. This has to be a surprise for Rainbow, Alopex, TC, TJ, Light and Strike.
PP- you got it, Blaze! Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!
-----------------
"That's Pinkie Pie sorted." Fire said, packing his rucksack. "She's making Honey and Sugarcube Pinkie Promise that they won't tell anyone I'm coming home. It's a surprise for my sisters and nephews."
"Great!" Capper replied. "You ready for the trip home?" He asked, helping Fire pack.
"Yep. I'm ready to go home and see my Lil' sisters and my favorite nephews." Fire replied. He picked up his rucksack and walked towards the door. "I'll call when I reach Canterlot, okay?" He asked, turning to Capper as he opened the door.
Capper nodded, smiling. "See you around then, FB." He said. Fire nodded as he left the building, closing the door softly as he walked away.
Fire's Return
A few hours later, Fire Blaze finally arrived at Canterlot City. He leaned against a tree and took in his surroundings. He was definitely at Sweet Apple Acres and he was certain he was in the South Orchard.
"Well. At least I'm back." Fire breathed. "DJ's not back at all yet, so that means I'm safe... For now that is."
Applejack walked over with a basket of freshly picked apples, courtesy of Diego and his fine harvesting skills. "Fire Blaze?" She asked.
Fire's head snapped up. "AJ?" He asked. "I can't believe it!"
"Neither can Ah, sugarcube. Pinkie told me she's waiting for you at Sugarcube Corner." Applejack replied, walking away. "Don't worry, no one else except Pinkie, Sugarcube, Honey Bear and Ah."
"Great! Thanks Applejack. I'll see you at the party." Fire yelled as he ran off towards Sugarcube Corner.
-------------————----------------
Pinkie had just finished putting the last of the decorations up around Sugarcube Corner when she heard the door burst open. "Pinkie!! I'm here!" Fire's voice echoed across the bakery.
"Great, just hang tight. I'm just putting the finishing touches to the decorations." Pinkie replied. "Honey Bear and Sugarcube are making the food and I'll be decorating the cake."
Honey exited the kitchen. "Hey, Mom. Dad called. He said he'll be out of town this week for a few pre-planned parties he's hosting." She said.
"Okay, thanks Honey." Pinkie replied, jumping down from the ceiling. "There, the last of the decorations are in place. How's the food coming along?"
"Great! We're nearly finished with the cupcakes and cookies. Not to mention more scones and flapjacks." Honey replied. She turned to Fire Blaze and hugged him. "Hi, Fire Blaze!"
Fire returned the hug. "Hello to you too, Honey Bear." He replied.
Party Crasher
A short while later and it was time for the party. Fire Blaze held his breath as he walked up the long, winding staircase leading to Pinkie's bedroom. With him, he held his and DJ's old geodes and a walkie talkie. "Well, here goes nothing." He muttered, as he heard the scuffling of trainers against the wooden flooring of Sugarcube Corner.
"Fire Blaze?" Pinkie's voice asked through the walkie talkie. "Everyone is here. Remember to put on your suit from the Fall Formal." It was time. Time for the grand entrance.
"Pinkie, I already have my suit on!" Fire chuckled as he stood up. "Just make sure to announce my arrival as I come into view." He clutched his cane with one hand and tucked his walkie talkie into his waistcoat pocket before making his descent.
"Announcing the guest of honor, it's Fire Blaze!" He heard Pinkie applaud as Fire walked downstairs.
"Fire!!!" Alopex and Rainbow roared, darting over to squeeze the life out of their big brother.
"Hey Lil' sisters." Fire replied before a swift kick to his shin made itself known. "I deserve that!"
"Definitely, for going COMPLETELY OFF THE RADAR FOR MONTHS!!!" Rainbow barked.
"Now Rainbow, let's not get too big-headed, I-" Fire was suddenly cut off as Rainbow glared at him.
"You what?" Rainbow asked.
"I only disappeared to keep you guys safe. I've been living with Capper in Klugetown since I disappeared." Fire replied. "Besides, who's made enough money to buy a mansion fit for a giant family, and a group of friends and their kids?"
"Rarity?" Alopex asked.
"It's me, sis! I gambled and won $500,000 off of Caelano all by my favorite trick." Fire boomed. "But that's a story for another day."
Suddenly, a four pairs of hands wrapped around Fire's frame, squeezing him gently. "Uncle Fire!!!!"
"Hey boys." Fire giggled as he tried to brush off the four. "I'm back for good. But there's something you guys should all know. DJ, he's-" before he could continue, a large crash echoed through the whole of Sugarcube Corner.
"Surprise!!" Echoed a voice. It was familiar to everyone, except for Strike, Light, Honey, Aquamarine, Spyro, Sugarcube, TJ and Tigerclaw. Berry and Diego growled and stood protectively over their family and friends. "Now, you two. Is that any way to treat your uncle?"
"y'all were never our Uncle!" Diego barked. "You're a monster!"
"A monster? Is that what your mother thinks of me as?" DJ asked.
"Darn tootin'!" Applejack barked. "Ya the reason Ah can't do much o' mah chores without needin' a break."
"well, sister dearest, let me put you outta yer misery for what y'all did ta me!" DJ growled. He snatched up his geode from Fire Blaze and placed it around his neck. Power surged through his veins and an sinister smirk plastered on his face. He threw his hands up and threw a fireball towards Applejack.
But nothing happened. He opened his eyes to see Aquamarine and Spyro holding their hands out in front of them creating a shield. "What?" DJ asked. How did this happen? How could it happen?
Spyro had pony ears and wings matching his skin, and a short pony tail. Aquamarine had a long tail and ears to match her skin. "Awesome! We both share the same power!" Spyro commented.
"Quite divine, my dear brother. These crystals are stunning." Aqua added.
"I thought the same when I gained those powers of yours." Rarity smiled. "Such a shame my geode was destroyed with DJ's fireball all those years ago."
"Hold on, Rare." Fire said. "Remember my power? To be able to create anything with my mind and make something real out of it?. He asked.
"Yes. But- oh, I see where you're going with this." Rarity smiled. "It's crafting time!"
Fire winked and a pair of geodes, exactly the same as Rarity's, appeared out of nowhere. "Aquamarine, Spyro. These geodes are for you." He said.
Diego jumped into the air and landed back down, creating a large crater in the centre of the room. His only ears and tail appeared and he whistled in astonishment. "Awesome! I've got pony ears... And a tail!" He exclaimed.
Berry smiled at her brother's enthusiasm. "I wonder if we'll get the same power?" She asked.
"It's possible." Applejack replied. "Why don't we head back ta the farm and try out yer powers, Sugarcube? But let's defeat DJ first."
Rainbow nodded. "Light it up, everyone!" She exclaimed. Everyone jumped into the air and their pony ears and tails appeared (with wings too for Fluttershy, Twilight, Rainbow, Light, Alopex, Strike, Fire and TJ). "One last Battle for the Rainbooms!"
"Last Battle?" Pinkie asked.
"Well, technically not, since the kids will be taking on our duty's as superheros and heroines for Canterlot City." Twilight confirmed.
"Thank you, Sci-Twi." Rainbow scoffed. "But less talking, more fighting!"
Fight, or flight?
"but let's add a little twist, shall we?" DJ asked. "If you defeat me- which is not gonna happen- you keep Sweet Apple Acres."
"And if you were to win?" Applejack asked.
"The whole far is mine and you'll all have to move out!" DJ cackled.
"That isn't fair!" Light barked. "You can't just do that!"
"Oh, I can't?" DJ asked. He teleported to Light's side and with a snap of his fingers a dagger appeared at his throat. "Who's to say I can't just kill you now, Light Dash?"
"No!" Strike thundered. He used his new-found super speed and darted forward, tackling Light to the ground, right as the dagger was thrusted forward... Right into Strike's side! "Ahhh!" Strike cried out as he fell to the floor.
"Strike!!" Light cried, sprinting to his twin's side. "Bro?"
"Light, look out!" Rainbow barked. Light looked up and caught DJ's wrist and threw him back.
"No one hurts my family! No one dares hurt my friends!" Light roared in anger. "Mess with the bull, you get the horns!"
Diego smirked as he lunged forward and delivered a strong left hook to the side of DJ's face. "Looks like you're outnumbered, DJ." He grinned. "Show's over."
DJ snarled as he stood up. "This isn't over! I will take Sweet Apple Acres! Whether you like it or not!" He barked before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
"D-did we win?" Strike asked.
"We sure did, Strike." Honey smiled. "We sure beat the heck outta him."
"That's great, guys." Strike commented. "So, what happens now?"
"Now," Soarin stated. "We get you patched up and then we can celebrate."
Rainbow nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me. We could try your powers out when we get to the farm."
"And I can make you guys some geodes." Fire smirked. "Still, we gotta work on channelling your powers."
"Great idea." Thunderlane replied. "but let's hope that DJ doesn't come back anytime soon."
"oh, he won't. Not for a while though." Applejack sighed. "The last time he came back for round 2, he ended up destroying half the orchard. It took Mac an' Ah three months ta grow all them trees again."
Braeburn nudged Applejack, smirking. "Ah thought you said it took the two of ya a week ta grow 'em?" He pondered.
Applejack playfully shoved him over. "Stop it, you." She chuckled. "It took us a good three months ta do it. We lost half a grand that year base we didn't have enough apples fer cider."
Berry giggled at her adopted parents, who she and Diego had known since they were five. She turned to Diego and giggled.
Spyro took the opportunity to trip Aquamarine. "Hey! Mom, Spyro tripped me!" Aqua complained.
"If you wanna complain, I will happily give you a complaint form to fill out, regarding your unhappiness towards your own twin brother." Spyro smirked.
"Oh, will you pipe down, you uncooth ruffian!" Aquamarine snarled.
Rarity frowned at Aqua. "Aquamarine! That is enough." She warned.
"Same to you, Spyro." Thunderlane added. "You two need to learn to respect each other."
Spyro and Aquamarine looked down in shame. Their parents were right, they call each other names and always fight. But it's Spyro's fault! thought Aquamarine. No offense to Father, but Spyro is an uncooth ruffian who needs to learn his place!
Everything is Aquamarine's fault! Spyro thought in disgust. No offense or anything towards Mother, but Aquamarine is a royal snob and pain in the backside. She needs to learn her place!
Honey's confession/ testing out their powers
A short while later, the Mane 9 and their kids arrived back at Sweet Apple Acres. "Alright," Applejack said. "Who wants ta try their powers first?" She asked.
"Well, I could go first." Light suggested. "I know Strike and I have Mom's super speed, but I wanna see how fast I can run!"
Rainbow stepped forward. "My best running time is 5 seconds exactly, here and back." She boasted. "But I'm up for a Lil' competition, especially against my own son."
"Let's do it!" Light smirked. "I bet I'll beat your record. But just to clarify," he pulled out a stopwatch and threw it to Tigerclaw. "TC, you're in charge of the stopwatch. I wanna see how long it takes for me to get around the whole farm and back."
"You got it!" Tigerclaw replied. "Who's gonna say the countdown?" He asked.
TJ rolled his eyes playfully and walked forward. "On your marks...." He said, as Light and Rainbow got ready. "Get set...." Light smirked, ready to finally beat his Mother at something. "Go!"
And they were off, with Light in the lead. Rainbow snarled and gained speed, quickly overtaking Light. Light gasped and ran faster, but tripped over a tree root and collapsed to the ground. Without looking back, Rainbow continued to run, dodging trees and other obstacles. She won, again!
"Go Dash!" Soarin exclaimed.
Fire perked up. "Hold it!" He said. "Where's Light?" He asked.
"He was right beh...ind me." Rainbow stated. "I'll look for him!"
And with that, Rainbow took to the sky and flew off. Soarin shook his head and ran through the orchards. "Light! Light, where are you?!" He called.
"Dad?!" Light called from Soarin's right. He turned and saw Light sitting against one of the apple trees, clutching his left ankle in pain. "Dad!" Light exclaimed, glad to see his father.
"Light, what happened?" Soarin asked.
"I tripped on a root." Light responded. "My ankle hurts." He whined.
Soarin shook his head and carried Light back to the others. "Found him!" He stated.
Honey gasped and darted forward. "Light! I'm so happy you're alright!" She paused, letting her own words finally sink in. She blushed and said, "I mean... What I meant to say was-"
Pinkie cut her off with a giggle. "It's okay Honey Bear. I know you like him." She smirked.
Wide-eyed, Honey turned to her mother and asked, "How did you know?!"
Sugarcube laughed as she came into view. "I hear you muttering his name in your sleep. And last night, I heard you telling him how you feel about him." She said.
Light froze on the spot. "You like me?" He asked, turning to Honey.
"Well- I mean- yeah. You're the bravest guy I know, and we've known each other since 4th Grade." Honey replied, blushing.
"it's true." Strike commented as he limped over. "But anyway, who's turn to power pony up?"
Sugarcube raised her hand eagerly. "Could I try? I wanna know if I have Mom's power to make sweets explode!" She squealed.
"Alright then. I'll just go get my sprinkles, cupcakes and cookies." Pinkie stated.
"Pinkie, what are you-?" Thunderlane was about to say, but Rarity hushed him. "Right. Pinkie's being Pinkie. The most random person in Canterlot." He chuckled.
Pinkie suddenly appeared behind a tree, holding a tray of cupcakes in one hand, a tray of sugar-butter-cocoa cookies in the other and a tub of sprinkles in her mouth. "I'm back!" She exclaimed hopping on the spot.
Fire facepalmed. "Oh sewer apples!" He said. "I think we have a hyperactive Pinkie Pie to deal with now."
Alopex gulped. "Oh man, not another sugar rush?!"
Rainbow immediately tackles Pinkie to the ground. "Do not go all hyper on us now, Pinkie! Last time you had a sugar rush, we all ended up having to rebuild CHS!" She said.
Pinkie laughed. "Silly Dashie. I'm just Pinkie being Pinkie!"
Applejack sighed as she watched the whole scene unfold. "Heavens ta Betsy." She muttered.
Sugarcube laughed as she threw a large handful of sprinkles into the air and watched as it exploded. "This is fun!" She giggled.
Honey laughed at her younger sister's happiness. "Hey, Sugar! Watch this!" She called, pouring a large about of sprinkles into her hand. "I'm gonna make a cookie explode as it flies through the air!"
Sugarcube looked back at Honey as her sister threw a cookie like a frisbee and threw sprinkles at it, making the cookie and sprinkles explode on impact. "Woah! Cool!"
Fire had finished making the geodes for the young 10. "Alright dudes and dudettes! Geodes are ready!" He called.
Twilight levitated two geodes to Light and Strike and placed one around each of them. "Loyalty!" She said.
Strike and Light ponied up and hovered in the air with their wings. "Awesome!" Light exclaimed. "This is even better than my videogames!"
Strike gulped as he floated to the ground. "I don't understand.... How could we possibly receive the same powers as Mom? How can we even pony up like we did?!"
"Legend has it," Rainbow said. "That there's an alternative universe, just like this one, only filled with magic, monsters and four different pony kinds: Alicorn, Pegasus, Earth Pony and Unicorn. It is said that the Earth Ponies are the strongest species in Equestria. Pegasus Ponies controlled the weather, Unicorns used their magic to do everyday things and Alicorns like Princess Twilight rule Equestria."
Strike nodded, uncertainly, "wait, Princess Twilight? The Princess of Friendship who helped you guys make amends and reform Sunset Shimmer?" He asked.
"Yep. And without Twi's help, we wouldn't have been able to defeat Adagio, Sonata and Aria at the Battle of the Bands." Pinkie smiled, holding her drumsticks for some unknown reason.
"Hmmm. So how did Princess Twilight come through to our world from Equestria?" Light asked.
"You know the statue outside the school?" Soarin asked. "Well, one panel on the plinth of that statue is actually a portal to Equestria. That's how Twilight and her dragon-turned-dog Spike entered this world."
"Cool." TJ replied. "But what about the Friendship Games? Didn't Twilight come through the portal then?"
"Actually TJ," Alopex stated. "Our worlds Twilight was at the Friendship Games. But she didn't take part for the WonderColts."
TJ raised an eyebrow as he looked at Twilight. "Not taking part for the 'Colts?" He asked.
"That's right. I was a junior at Crystal Prep Academy. The former Principal at that school, Abacus Cinch was in charge. She forced me to take part so she would sign my entrance forms for the Everton Independent Study Program, or EISP for short." Twilight replied. "Back then I had no friends and focused on my studies so I'd be able to apply for Everton by the end of the semester. Principal Cinch wouldn't allow me to go unless I competed in the Games."
"That wasn't very nice of Cinch." Aquamarine scoffed. "She must've been a very annoying and bossy Principal of CPA."
"Just like a certain twin sister I know." Spyro muttered.
