Chapter Three: The Truth Comes Out

When Twilight woke up, she found herself in a big, white bed in giant room.  She didn't know how she got there, but the bed was more comfortable than the cold ground outside.

Curious to know where she was, Twilight tried to sit up, only to feel a sharp pain in her side.  She looked and saw stitches up her flank, from where she was thrown against the wall.  She winced, and then noticed her leg was in a cast.  Twilight was scared, she didn't know what was going on. She looked for the nearest way out, only to see a tall, milky-white mare staring at her from the door across the room.

Twilight froze, staring back at her.  She had a long flowing mane and tail with magnificent hues of blue, green, and pink. Her giant, feathery wings were raised in curiosity, and there was a long horn on her head.  The mare also bid a shiny crown and necklace.   She emerged from behind the curtain, and Twilight also noticed she had a giant sun on her flank.  The tall mare walked with grace towards Twilight's bed.  The filly's pupils shrunk with alarm, she wanted to jump up and run again, but she was stuck in her bed.  "Hello," The mare said, softly. "I am Princess Celestia. What is your name?"

"T-Tw-Twilight Sp-Sparkle" Twilight stuttered, she was still shaking from the night before.

"Hello, Twilight." The Princess said softly, "Can you tell me who did this to you?"

Twilight hesitated; she thought back to the awful night before, when she ran away one last time..  "I can only help you if you tell me, who did this to you."  The Princess had an encouraging look in her eye as she said this.

"My-my father," Twilight whispered shakily, looking around to see if he was near to punish her for saying his name.

"What?" Princess Celestia looked confused.  Twilight told her about the night before; how she had been thrown against the wall and saw her Mother laying on the kitchen floor, not moving at all.  She also told the Princess about all other nights, how her whole life was constant beatings from her father, and being yelled at for no apparent reason..  How it was all of Twilight's fault.. All Twilight's fault..  The Princess listened, as though she could not believe her ears..  Imagining all the pain and hurt going on in little four year old Twilight's young life.

"Is my Mommy going to be okay?" Twilight looked up at Princess Celestia, and she snapped back to attention.  The Princess looked down into those wide, purple-rimmed eyes.  Trying to hold back tears, she said,

"I- I don't, think so, Twilight," and the little filly looked down at her bed, and started weeping . Princess Celestia lookd out the window and repeated, "I don't think so..."
