Chapter 1: Thoughts
The wind swiftly made its way through the forest and through my matted mane. My body was stiff from the excessive amounts of sleep that numbed me. In the cold breeze I could only feel parts of my bandaged body touched by the icy winter wind. But how, how did I get here?
The soft earth beneath greeted my hooves as I forced myself up. The quite rustling of the leaves along with the peaceful melody of all the creatures of the night were the only things to keep me company and keeping me aware of my surroundings. My throat was arid and my thoughts were cloudy from dehydration. I tried swallowing the remaining moisture from my mouth but I choked as I had only swallowed what felt like a fine dust. Why is this happening?
"Oh man" I said below my breath. "I feel terrible..."
Trying to orientate myself I sat up leaning against the rough back of the tree that stood tall behind me. I tried opening my eyes to observer my surroundings. But the evening's darkness was the only things I could see. An endless sea of black was the only things that met my vision. I rubbed my eyes to maybe they would adjust to the low light. Where could I be?
I took my hands off my eyes. Nothing.
What happened to me was the only question that surfaced in the hazy thoughts of my mind. I stood up off the ground ready to seek what might of happened only to regret it soon after. The world must of moved, I could feel it shift around my as I tried to balance myself. With a sharp jerk it threw itself to one side and my balance failed me. I felt my head hit the surface of something hard as the world spun around me, I felt my eyes close again and felt the warmth on the moist ground beneath my mane. The forest seemed to notice my presence as I could faintly make out its presence as the quite sounds of the forest softly whispered behind me. My mind was slowly consumed again by unconsciousness as I exhaled deeply. I could not fight the haze as I drifted off into a deep sleep once more.

The moon greeted me as I slowly walked down the forest path. The Everfree forest was eerie and illusory as usual but something about it always captivated me. The quite rustling of the leaves along with the peaceful melody of all the creatures of the night were the only things to keep me company and keeping me aware of my surroundings.
The forest was always evolving. Either the creatures of the night learned a new song to communicate with the rest of Equestria, or maybe a unique plant was growing in the forest to give it new life. That's why I walked here at night. It was so beautiful, I could discover new things or relearn some old things. But tonight I just walked to take in all it had to offer me.
"Hi there Twilight!"
My fur stood on end as I held in my scream. I turned around to meet the voice.
"Oh Rainbow Dash! Don't do that! You really scared me for a second there." I said.with a hint of embarrassment.
She chuckled a bit to herself at my comment.
"Heh, I guess I did."
I could make out a small smirk appear on her face. I met her eyes with a serious look on my face. But this seemed to have the entirely opposite affect on her. Now she was laughing loudly holding her side. In the distance I could see a flock of birds take off from their home in the trees, probably disturbed from sleep by a certain cyan pegasus.
"Keep it down Rainbow! I don't want to attract any unwanted attention. Who knows what might be lurking in the forest at night?" I said.
"Pfft don't be such a wuss Twilight. I bet you could take anything that comes at you in the woods." she said with a matter-of-factly tone in here voice.
"Except me of course, I got you good Twi. You should of seen the look on your face!" She did a little flip in the air.
"Whatever Rainbow. Let's just get back to Ponyville..." The evening was winding down and the moons was high in the sky. I was planning on heading back soon anyway.
"Whatever... Hey I just had a great Idea. Let's race back there!" Before she even finished her sentence she rocketed off down the old dirt path. The look of determination glued to her face.
I facehoof'd. Quickly I conjured up space and speed in my mind as I teleported down the path in front of her.
"Ponyville is the other way Dash." I said pointing down in the opposite direction.
The cyan pony's cheeks showed a little redness on them. She floated in the air before taking a higher position in the night sky all the while using her forehoof to rub the back of head.
"I knew that I was just-" The sheepish look on her face disappeared as a new look took its place.
Rainbow Dash flew down deeper into the forest at blinding speeds leaving a ghostly after image in her wake. Where was she going? I could still see her flying down the path deeper into the Everfree. I conjured up the teleportation spell again.as I still had a line of sight on her.
"Rainbow?! Where are you going?" I said as I had appeared behind the pegasus.
But she said nothing. She stepped aside to give me a full view. There in front of me was a pegasus. He lay sprawled across the path, probably unconscious. He lay on the edge of the path, but what really shocked me was how could have Rainbow seen this pony? His coat was the same shade of clay earth that the path was made of. His mane was swept back and dark crimson with streaks of silver across both mane and tail. His ear was torn and his breathing was rapid and shallow. He wore two iron rings on the back of his hooves. But, the real odd thing was his cutie mark. It displayed a light blue crystal with a small yellow orb towards the top and a small purple crescent towards the bottom, possibly representing the sun and the moon. How odd, what could it resemble?
I took another good look at him. Thick rough bandages were wrapped tightly around his body. The bandages looked as if blankets were dipped in red wine then torn for use. What might of inflicted these wounds? I looked at his mane again. Some of the silver had large patches of the same color crimson as on his mane and tale.
"Eh, Twilight, he looks dead, lets get out of here..." Rainbow said with a shaky voice. This must of been terrible for her to bear witness to such a broken body.
I put my hoof up to the colts neck. This was met with disgusted remarks from the cyan pegasus.There was still a pulse, there was still warmth. He was still alive, but he was severely injured. It was actually a medical miracle that he was still alive. The small pool of blood that resided at the base of nearby tree must of been more blood then anypony could have.
"Rainbow! Quickly help me get him back to Ponyville!" I said.
"But he is covered in blood and he looks all nasty..." She said with a little disgust.
"Ah don't be such a baby Rainbow. This pony needs help and you can't even lift a hoof to help him?" I looked straight at her. She fiddled around with her fore hooves as a conflicting look spread across here face.
I knew exactly new what to do now. I knew how to get her to help me.
"I bet you couldn't get him over there anyway!" I said with over exaggerated amount of sarcasm as I lifted the pegasus with my magic.
Her expression changed instantly to react to my comment.
"You know I could to! Give 'em here!" She swooped down from the air and pulled the wounded pony onto her back.
She struggled a bit but managed to stay in the air.
"Where.. Are we.. Going Twi...?" She said stopping between words to flap her wings and support the unconscious pony. She must be stressing her wings now. Pegasi were light but Rainbow Dash didn't normally have to carry an entire pony on her back.
"Uh.." I panicked for a bit. Where could I take a injured pony at this time? All of Ponyville was asleep at this time. Who could I take him to?
I heard Rainbow's voice again.
"Come on Twilight..! It's not that I'm tired..! Its just that he's getting blood all over my coat...!" Rainbow Dash shot me a distressed look. I knew I had to act quickly.
"Quickly! Head over to Fluttershy's house! She'll know what to do!"
Rainbow nodded her head as she flew off in that direction still carrying the wounded pony on on her back.
I knew the exact location of Fluttershy's house since I have been there so many times so I conjured up yet another teleportation spell as I thought of the front door of her cottage.
With a flash of light Fluttershy's cottage appeared in front of me with Rainbow Dash already inside.
"Oh dear..." Fluttershy had a genuine look of fear across her face. She must of never seen anything in this bad of shape.
"Here Rainbow." Placing pillows on her scarlet couch, "Lie him down gently..."
Rainbow Dash rolled over a bit. The pony landed on the couch with a loud thud.
I could see Fluttershy cringe as she looked at the bandaged pegasus.
"At least it won't stain your couch. You can't even tell the difference. His mane like disappears!" Rainbow said with a foolish grin.
I facehooved for a second time tonight.
"This is serious Dash! He is seriously hurt! You could of fractured a rib or something!"
A feeble voice spoke from behind us.
"No... It's fine... I don't think anything is broken... Really..." *cough* " It's fi-" The voice cut itself of.
"See he's fine." Rainbow said as she smiled at me brushing herself off.
Well all were speechless after that. Fluttershy was the first one to say something, her voice brimming with fear.
"Oh, is there anything we can do for you?"
No response.
"Looks like he passed out again." I said with snort. "He might of been able to talk if you didn't drop him on the couch."
Rainbow Dash had guilt written all over her. Her ears dropped down as she spoke. "Eh well... I better head of now. I need to get up early for training tomorrow." She said as she headed to the door. "I might be back later to check the guy out. Just to see if he's okay."
And with that she took off. I looked at Fluttershy, she was taking some bandages out of a small closet.
"Twilight, could you help me remove his bandages? They need to be, um, changed and replaced so they don't get, um, infected." She started unrolling the bandages. As I lifted pegasus up and slowly began removing the thick bandages that were wrapped around him. As I worked on placing the bloody bandages on the ground I heard a small gasp come from Fluttershy.
She must have been looking at the body of the pony, gasping in shock.
"Now it's okay Fluttershy. I'm sure he will be-" I looked at the colt. I felt my mouth swing open in shock. Not a single gash was present on his body. No visible scars. How is that possible. how did this bandage get so blood soaked? Was it even blood?
I set the pegasus gently down onto the couch. What was he doing out in the woods? I checked the texture of the bandage. It was blood for sure, the texture and the color proved that to me as I examined it closely. What is going on here?
"What do we do Twilight...?" Fluttershy said with a shudder.
"I don't know Fluttershy, Let him have a nice long rest. I will have a nice long talk with him in the morning." I sat in a chair situated across from the couch.
"Would you like to sleep in a room upstairs?" Fluttershy said.
"No, I'm going to keep my eye on this one." I said flatly. I didn't know who or what this pony was or was up to but I wasn't going to let him out of my sight until I had some answers.
I must of been broadcasting my thoughts in my expression because Fluttershy just acknowledged this and walked out.
"Alright Twilight. I will have it ready if you need it though."
"Thank you." I said still observing the tan pegasus.
"Goodnight."
No response.

Second chapter will be up Friday or something depends on how busy I am this week but I am enjoying writing this. I will try update this every so often. This will not be abandoned. Popular or not. I love writing to much to let this story die.
Of one more thing. I have a name for this character but I am interested to see what you might think a good name for our main character. I've gone though a ton of different names for him, I would be overjoyed to see some input. Thanks!

Chapter 2: Memories
Chapter 2: Memories
I could feel myself slowly coming back into consciousness. My mind slowly piecing it's fragmented self back together. I started to remember last night. The sounds, feelings, it was all coming back to me now. But something was different. I felt a soft fabric against my head. I could smell the sweet smell of eggs around me. My stomach ached at this thought. I couldn't remember the last time I ate. It was warmer to, I did not feel any cold breeze brush up against me. But I sensed something, something was near by. I could almost feel its presence in the room.
"Good morning." Said a soft feminine voice. "Nice to see you awake."
What? Who was that?
"I know you are awake. I saw you move. Don't pretend like you can't hear me" The voice seemed a little irritated now.
I rolled over towards the voice.
"Ah so you are awake." The voice said.
I didn't know what to do. I was afraid now. Where had I ended up in know?
"Fluttershy, please bring out guest some breakfast. He just woke up."
I sat up and heard as I heard the sound of fine china making contact with the surface of a stained hard wood. I would hear silverware placed in front of me and I could make out the sweet odor of freshly made eggs.
"You aren't going to eat with your eyes closed now, are you?" said the voice.
I was silent for a little bit, not knowing what to do next, but slowly I opened my eyes.
What I saw I could not comprehend. In front of me were two small glass-like orbs hovering in front of me. I looked at one, it was light purple, lavender maybe, with that seemed to be a purple aura slowly dancing around it like a flame. The second was a light yellow, but it had a different effect. I could see it shake just a little bit as I felt the sensation of cold air slowly roll over me along with a small 'eep' from the trembling sphere.
"Fluttershy, he must be blind..." Said the flame.
"I heard that." I replied.
The purple flame instantly went out.

I saw Fluttershy come in with some food. Just a simple over-easy egg on a small plate. She set silverware next to the pegasus and for a long time, no one said anything.
"You aren't going to eat with your eyes closed now, are you?" I said.
The room was silent. There was a long moment of silence but slowly, very slowly, the beige pony opened his eyes.
What I saw I was not prepared for.
Most of the Ponies I have encountered had a certain glow to them, I knew many brightly colored ponies, Pinky for example, she was the pinkest pink I ever seen. Rainbow Dash even, she had the entire color spectrum over her mane and tail. Not to mention those deep red eyes, always ablaze with determination.
But this pony was different.
His eyes were dull. The irises were a light gray and his pupils had a light haze to them.
I have read about this before. I leaned over to Fluttershy and whispered quietly into her ear.
"Fluttershy, he must be blind..."
"I head that." The pegasus said.
I was in shock, how did he hear me? Was I that loud...?
I looked at the tan pegasus again. He was shaking a bit. He must be afraid, not knowing where he is. I should introduce ourselves to calm the poor pony down.
"Oh we should probably introduce ourselves, You might also want to know where you are right now too." I said. "My name is Twilight Sparkle." I looked at him again. This calmed him down, I could see him loosen up a little bit.
I could hear a faint mumbling coming from Fluttershy. I couldn't make out a single word.
"It is nice to meet you too Fluttershy, and thank you Twilight. I really appreciated it." said the pony.
What? How did he hear Fluttershy? How could anypony hear her? I looked over at her, if she was in as much shock as I was in she didn't show it. All I saw was a small smile appear on her face.

"My name is Twilight Sparkle." Said the purple sphere. That is good to know.
I heard a voice. It was reserved and low but I could still make out each word.
"Um, hi, my name is Fluttershy. Nice to meet you, um, Twilight brought you here to my cottage last night. You were unconscious..."
So now I am at a cottage of a stranger? That is just great. Oh well, any place is better than that unforgiving forest.
"It is nice to meet you too Fluttershy, and thank you Twilight. I really appreciated it." I said sincerely.
I felt a radiating warmth emanate from the yellow sphere, it was pleasant and inviting. I looked over to the other sphere in front of me. I couldn't tell at first, but what I could make out, a little bit of the color drained from the orb.
"What is your name?" Twilight said hesitantly.
My... Name...? I thought, nothing came to mind, I didn't remember my own name! Spending that much time in the forest does a number on ones mind. But then a voice spoke to me. I could faintly make it out coming from quite a ways away. It whispered softly to me;
Rustic Silver...
I could hear Twilight's voice speak to me as I shifted my attention to her.
"Are you okay...?"
I gathered my thoughts and spoke.
"My name is... Rustic Silver." I said. I hope she will buy it.
I could see the color slowly seep back into the purple sphere as Twilight spoke up.
"Well, it is nice to meet you Rustic Silver. You might want to know where you are right now." Twilight said.
I nodded politely.
"Yeah that would be nice, Fluttershy said that we were in her cottage?" I said.
"That would be correct. We are currently in Fluttershy's cottage, just on the outskirts of Ponyville." Twilight said "We could take you there if you want, but I promised somepony that you would be here in the morning. Is that okay?" She said.
"That would be fine. I don't mind to wait."
I heard my stomach growl in protest. I have not eaten in a long time... I could smell the eggs in front of me and I turned to face them. "Thank you for making me breakfast. I really appreciate it. I am a little hungry." I said quietly.
Gently, I felt around the table in front of me. I moved my hoof around the surface of the table. I must of touched every part of the table by now. I was never going to find the silverware...
A felt gentle hoof touch mine.
"Here let me help you with that."
I shifted my head to face Fluttershy's voice. My face lit up and I was sure I was smiling foolishly at my hostess.
I heard the plate of eggs slide towards me. Judging by the direction the sound was coming from I lowered my utensils onto the plate, carefully cutting the eggs. I took note of every detail, the shape of the cut, the length, the location. Carefully picking up a small piece of the egg I have just cut with my fork, I took a bite, it might of just been my hunger making this good, but the taste was indescribable. If irresistible had a flavor then this would describe it with no problem. The plate was clean in no time.
"Where is that pony? Why does she always have to be late?" Twilight said flatly. I positioned myself so that I was looking at her. The small glass orb was its normal lavender purple, but something was different. Tiny sparks periodically appeared around the sphere before slowly disappearing.
I turned my attention to the my surroundings.
There was nothing.
'I really must be blind' I thought...
The only things I could see where the little glass spheres that represented the two mares.
But there was a third smaller sphere, out in the distance. It was small at first, slowly though, it grew in size until it was about the same size. From what I could tell it was situated just a bit farther back in my vision. It was a deep, full red, no a vibrant orange... It shifted colors gradually, from bright and warm colors to deep and full cool colors.
"Where is that pony...?" Twilight said with a hint of aggravation in her voice. "She should of been here half an hour ago." There was a short pause. "Maybe we should just leave without her Fluttershy."
"No need. I think she has just arrived." I said.
With that I heard the door open in front of me.
I could sense the cold air hanging in the room again and I could see the color fade again from two orbs beside me, but the multicolored orb in front of was diffrent.
The rooms temperature suddenly plummeted, as I shivered ever so slightly.

My thoughts have been running uncontrollably. I could not take my mind of this peculiar pegasus.
How did he hear me whisper to Fluttershy? Was I really that loud?
How could he so eat like that? He did not look at the plate at all. A cut here, a cut there and then he picked up the egg with his silverware.
What else can he do? I must write the Princess. Surly she would know more about this pegasus. I needed to get back to Ponyville so I could have Spike write a letter for me.
"Where is that pony...? She should of been here half an hour ago." I was wasting time. "Maybe we should just leave without her Fluttershy."
"No need." Said the tan pegasus. "I think she has just arrived."
I looked over at the door to see it swing open. I was in shock. I didn't hear the cyan pegasus approach the cottage, I did not even hear her land! How did he do that?
I looked over at Rainbow Dash. Her expression was shock, pure shock. I knew I had to act quickly.
"Uh, Rainbow Dash? Can I talk to you outside for just a second?"
I quickly made my way out the door and next to the frozen pony.
"Rainbow, are you okay?" I asked.
"Okay?" She said. "Okay?! Did you see that pegasus? He was like, all messed up last night, but now just look at him!" She squeaked. "He must heal up fast! No scars either. So cool." She said as she smiled at me.
I was shocked, but then again...
"Oh, so your fine with this?" I said.
"Pfft, yeah no big deal. He is a little weird looking though. Did you see his eyes?" she said tracing an imaginary circle around her eyes. "They were all gray and stuff. It was a little hazy looking too. Weird huh?"
"Rainbow Dash that's because he is blind. Let's not be so loud okay?"
Rainbow Dash was basically screaming at the top of her lungs at this point, no doubt Rustic Silver heard us.
"He is a pegasus. Do you know what it would be like to be a blind pegasus?" I questioned her quietly.
This thought struck her hard. I thought about this for a second too.
A blind pegasus...? Being severely impaired like that with all the freedom and mobility of a pegasus? It must be crushing.
"Oh... Sorry..." Rainbow said.
She must of been beating at herself again for I could see that the thought really struck her. She must be thinking the very same thoughts as I was.
"It's okay, Let's just be a little more considerate around Rustic Silver."
"Oh so that's his name huh? I wouldn't have guessed." She said sarcastically, her usual amount of enthusiasm showing again.
I smiled at Rainbow Dash. Nice to see her back to normal.
"We should go inside. I said we would be leaving for Ponyville after you came. I wanted to do somethings. You should introduce yourself while we get ready." I said as I opened the door.
We both looked at the tan pegasus. He was slowly moving his head from side to side sweeping the room with his senses. As we entered, he looked at us and smiled politely.
"Sorry we had to keep you waiting Rustic Silver. I hope you don't mind." I said,
"No, no. I am very grateful for you two bringing me in from the woods. It would be selfish of me to rush either of you. Those woods are unforgiving." He said with a little laugh. This was answered with a small laugh coming from Rainbow Dash.
"And please, just call me Silver."
"Whatever Scan." Rainbow said with her usual edge.
He stopped for a moment to think. But his face brightened up with an honest smile.

The four of us were making our way down the path into Ponyville slowly, but surly. The air was still dry and crisp for it was still fall. The sun shone down on us though, there had not been a cloud in the sky.
Rainbow kept from flying the entire time. I could see her getting antsy. She must of wanted to stretch her wings and fly out into the sky, but I think she didn't want to sadden our new friend.
Nothing much was said for there was not much to talk about.
"So." Said Silver. "What is Ponyville like?"
"You've never been to Ponyville Scan? It's only like the 'awesomeest' place ever." Rainbow said. 'Awesomeest'. Rainbow and her word choices.
"I actually have never heard of it until you mentioned it back at Fluttershy's cottage." Silver said.
Rainbow shot a confused look at Silver. She walked up to him and punched him playfully on the shoulder.
"What? Where are you from? Like everyone has heard of Ponyville! Everything happens here!"
This was my chance to get some information on this pegasus.
"What were you doing wandering in the forest?" I said.
I looked at Silver. He was thinking hard and I could tell.
"Well... Honsetly, I can't remember..." He said quietly. He tried to smile, but his attempts fell apart as his face had anguish plastered all over it.
"How can you not remember where you live? That's so weird. Everypony should know where they live!" Said Dash.
"Yeah Silver, how come you don't know where you live?" I said. I had a serious tone layered onto my sentences, knowing he couldn't see my expression.
"Well..." He stuttered. " I haven't told anypony before, but I don't think you will believe me."
"No it's really fine. What did you want to say." Fluttershy said.
He looked a little hesitant and for a while he said nothing, conflicting emotions holding him back.
"Well..." He started "Well, I woke up in the forest. I didn't know at the time because well..." He stopped, afraid to talk.
"Well because, I am blind."
I felt something strike at my very being. I couldn't imagine how terrible it would be blind. But then again, how did he pick out our conversations and predict these things?
"I guessed it was night when I awoke. The night was cold and I could feel the wind brush up against me. There were some really thick bandages around me and I had no idea where they came from. There was this burning sensation coming from my sides though. It hurt to stand and just move around in general." He explained.
"I don't really know what happened after that. I woke up the next morning with you ponies."
"Wow Scan, That's really weird..." Rainbow said. She flew over to me and was about to say something, but I quickly stopped her. Through a series of visual gestures I told her that Silver had a very good hearing.
The rest of the walk to Ponyville was silent. There was some small talk here and there, mostly Rainbow trying to strike up an interesting conversation with Silver. I tuned out for it was mostly Rainbow giving an over-exaggerated auto-biography about herself.
"Oh that is pretty cool. So Twilight, what do you and Fluttershy do?" Silver said,
I snapped out of my daydreams and quickly gathered my thoughts and spoke.
"Well I am the librarian at the Ponyville library and Fluttershy here takes care of animals at her cottage." I said. I was about to explain what Rainbow Dash did but she beat me to it.
"Yeah and I am the Fastest Flier in all of Equestria!" She blurted out springing up into the air.
It was amazing, he tracked Rainbow's movements in the sky like he could actually see her fly.
"Have you ever heard of a sonic rainboom Scan?" She said fovering just inches from his face.
"What's that? You haven't said anything about that before." He said with a small grin.
"Only the coolest trick ever! It's where I break the sound barrier and the light spectrum at the same time!" She had a smile that stretched end to end now. She flew up higher and higher.
"Rainbow Dash! We are here!" I shouted. "Don't do it over Ponyville! You remember the last time you did? It was not that easy to fix all those windows."
Rainbow blushed a little bit as she reluctantly came back down to the ground.
"Oh, heh heh. Sorry, I just kinda got in the moment. You know what I mean." Rainbow said.
"Yeah I know." I said reminding her about Silver again.
"Yeah, so anyway Scan, Everypony just thought is was an old mare's tale but I proved them wrong." She said. "I did it, twice!"
I looked over at Silver, he was smiling, but something seemed off about him.
"Rainbow Dash, don't you have somethings to do? Like practice or something?"
"Nah, I'd rather stay and chat actually. I didn't tell you wh-" She looked over to me finally getting the hint. "Oh yeah, I did want to practice that new stunt I was working on, the... Well I haven't named it yet, but I'm sure I'll get it while I practice it." She said. "I am going to be a future WonderBolt! WAIT, Scan do you know who the WonderBolts are?" She said close to Silver again.
"Rainbow." I said.
"Er, I'll talk to you later Scan. Somepony is getting grumpy." She said with a little snicker as she flew off.
"Oh I, um, need to pick up some groceries... Talk to you later Silver." Fluttershy said walking off.
"Alright, see you later." Silver said.
Now I was walking with Silver towards the library. I took a good look at him, he was still smiling, taking in his surroundings with his senses. Concentrating hard on everything around him.
"Well are we headed Twilight?" He said.
I needed to go to the library so I could get Spike to send a letter to Celestia.
"We are heading to the library. You can stay there for now until we sort things out."
"Alright." He said. With that we continued our walk to the library. Not much happened. I mean we did get the occasional stare from all the other ponies. I could see what they were looking at. They we looking at Silver's eyes. It must of been strange for them to see them. Luckily for Silver though, he couldn't see them.
We finally arrived at the library. The bright orange sun low in the sky ready to recede and make way for the moon. I opened the door slowly seeing Spike slowly pacing around the floor.
"Hey Spike." I said.
Spike turned to face us.
"Twilight! I was wondering where you went! I know you like to take your walks out in the woods but it has been almost an entire day and I know you wouldn't walk out in the forest for an entire day so I started getting worried so I was going to get Rainbow Dash to go look for you but when I asked her she said she was busy and needed to go somewhere and-" Spike rambled. He stopped looking at Silver.
"Who's your friend here Twilight?" Spike said.
"Spike, this is Rustic Silver. I found him out in the woods injured. Rainbow Dash and I took him to Fluttershy's cottage to make sure he would be okay. Sorry I stayed overnight to keep an eye on him." I said.
"Nice to meet you Spike." Silver said extending a hoof. Spike had a look of confusion on him since Silver was looking right over him.
Oh yeah.
"Oh yeah Spike, Rustic Silver here is blind."
"Oh....!" Spike said quickly extending his claws to shake Silvers hoof. "Nice to meet you Rustic Silver."
"Nice to meet you to Spike, call me Silver." He said as he smiled cheerfully.
"Alright Silver. Nice to meet you." Spike said with a sweet smile to match Silver's.
I couldn't help smiling myself.
"Nice to see you two get acquainted." I said. "Now if you will excuse me Silver. I need to attend to some things. I haven't been at the library all day. I really need to do some things. Feel free to make yourself at home."
"Thank's again Twilight." Silver said.
"Your welcome. By the way Silver, I suppose you don't have anywhere to stay. Feel free to stay here until you can find yourself a place here in Ponyville." I said.
"Wow, really? Thanks!" His expression was pure joy. If he was faking it, he was doing a pretty good job at it.
"Well now I have to go do those.. Things, come on Spike let's go." I said as I shoved Spike through the door leading to my room. Once we were inside I used my magic to close the door.
"Quickly Spike, take a note."
"Uh, what?"
"Take a note! I need to write to Princess Celestia!" I said under my breath.
"Uh, okay..." Spike said pulling out a pen and paper.

Dear Princess Celestia,
Last night while on one of my nightly walks in the woods I came across a strange pegasus. Rainbow Dash and I found him out in the middle of the Everfree Forest injured and unconscious. Rainbow Dash carried him to Fluttershy's cottage where we cared for him until he awoke the next day. When we removed his bandages, we found out that he had no scars of gashes anywhere on himself. He is blind but the rest of his senses are very acute. He can pick out the slightest changes in his environment.
We walked him over to Ponyville and I have him currently staying at the library. Please Princess, if you could shed any light on the situation then please do. He said his name was Rustic Silver.

Author's Note: Holy crap. This one took much much longer to write than the last chapter. Mostly because I have been writing on weekdays. Well this chapter is really dialog intensive but that is how I wanted to turn out, I like it. Again, I would really appreciate any form of comments, suggestions, critique, etc. I am still looking for Pre-Readers and an Editor. So if you are interested and are willing to take a moment out of your busy lives to sit down and read my stories I would be so grateful.
Thank you all for just reading my stories, I enjoy writing so much and this is just so much fun. It has so much potential in my opinion and I have a good idea of where I want to go with it. Rustic Silver you say? I have not heard of that particular name before. It is quite odd. You said you found him out in the Everfree? Very odd indeed... I have a scheduled visit to Ponyville in my plans so I will stop by to check out this interesting pegasus.
I would have come sooner but my visit might be delayed for a terrible crisis has come up in Canterlot. It is something that I must attend to first above anything else. But rest assured, it it nothing you should worry about my faithful student. I am sure we shall resolve it soon.

"Twilight, this is like the 7th time I have read this note." Spike said flatly.
I didn't respond, I was to busy thinking at the moment. The Princess not knowing about Rustic Silver?
'That is not normal, she is supposed to know everything about everypony! What makes Silver any different from the rest of us? Sure he is blind, but I know being blind isn't TOO uncommon... And he says he can't remember where he is from? Something weird is defiantly wrong with that pony.'
"So what are we going to do now?" Spike said.
I though for a moment. If anything we should find out more about or mysterious guest. We need to keep him in Ponyville so the Princess can meet him and possibly tell us who he is and where he came from, but for now we need to keep him occupied here in Ponyville so the Princess gets that chance.
I turned my attention to the door as I slowly opened it with my magic. I looked around the main room, Silver was sleeping on the floor with a pillow and blanket I gave him last night. Such a peaceful sleeper. It must of been nice to finnaly have a place to sleep without having to worry. This would be the second day that Silver had a nice place to lie and not worry about a thing. He didn't look threatening, its just his secrets, secrets can be dangerous. What could he be keeping from us and why is he keeping these secrets? Closing the door lightly I turned to Spike again.
"We are going to keep Silver here in Ponyville until the Princess gets here okay? If anything, she will know what to do for sure after talking to Silver. We might even find out some enlightening information about our newcomer." I said.
Spike twitched a bit and shot me a disturbed look.
"You should keep it down Twilight, you said it yourself, Silver's hearing is amazing. We shouldn't be talking about him behind his back you know. He might hear us." Spike said.
I though about this for a moment. He had fallen asleep fairly early since he didn't have much he could do. This was a library after all, it's not like he is going to read any of the books... But by this time he should of gotten more than enough sleep, any sudden changes to his surroundings could possibly wake him. I wasn't sure.
"No way, he has been sleeping soundly for quite some time now. I doubt he hear any of our conversations. Although I do agree with you, We should keep our voices low when talking about him like this. I don't want to upset him."
With that Spike gave a easy nod as he walked out of my room and into the main room.
I looked around my home, it was quiet except for the light breathing coming from Silver. Not to much action. To be honest the library almost never had any ponies here unless there was some catastrophe going on. From time to time we would just have someone stop by with a question and just search it up. Not many ponies borrowed books, excluding Rainbow Dash. That filly and her romance novels...
I walked over to the window to get a good look at Ponyville, not much was moving outside either. It was the weekends and many were sleeping in for the day. Looking up to the sky I could see that the sun was almost at its apex. It was around midday right now.
"So Twilight, what do you want to do for lunch?" Spike said,
I looked over to Silver and then turned to face Spike.
"Maybe we should go ask Silver what he might want." I walked over to Silver and gave him a nudge on the back...
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH.........!!"

I heard a voice.
"This will complicate things, but I am sure it will do just fine..."
What...? My thoughts were cut off as I felt a searing heat wash all over my body as I screamed in pain. It was so intense and the burning heat went on for ages.
"Ah don't be such a baby, we haven't even started yet.
Another wave of intense heat flooded my body, one by one, my senses were overloaded and they slowly succumb to the heat.
"Al-most, finished...!"
I felt something touch my back.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH.........!!"
My screams were met with frightened screams from both Twilight and Spike. I commanded my eyes to open and I saw the glass orbs that represented my two hosts quivering in fear in the corner of the blackness.
"Are... You okay, Silver...?" Spike said. Judging by his shaky voice I must of scared the poor guy to death and back.
"Yeah... Sorry about that, really..! It was just... I just had uh, bad dream..."
Twilight spoke up.
"Really? What was it about...? You can tell us, we can help."
I thought for a moment, shivering at the thoughts of intense agony and pain.
"Eh... Well... It was about..."
I was going to start telling Twilight what had happened if everything didn't turn pink as I felt myself hit the wooden floor.

'NO!' I screamed in my thoughts. Out of all the inconvenient moments to show up this might make the top three for sure. Pinkie Pie! Why now!?
"Oh my gosh! You must be that new pony that everyone is talking about! I heard you from outside!" Pinkie Pie said, a wild grin stretching from ear to ear. She was standing on top of Silver who she has just tackled bursting through the front door.
"I know that because everypony was talking about you and how you didn't talk but you got along well with Twilight and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash and stuff like that. I was so happy to hear that we have a new pony in Ponyville because I always throw parties for new ponies! I LOVE to throw parties and your's will be extra special because you are new and you are blind and I will make sure everything is just right for you so you don't have to worry about a thing and it will be awesome! By the way what's your name?" Pinkie said immediately getting right up next to Silver.
Silver had the look of confusion, surprise and from what I could tell, a hint of fear presenting itself for all to see.
"My name is uh, Rustic Silver. But please, just call me Silver."
"Okay!!" Pinkie Pie said with a little jump. "Nice to meet you Silly!"
"Uh..." Confusion was the dominate emotion this time.
"YEAH!! Well anyway it was super duper ultra fantastic to finally meet you! But I need to get your party ready! It will be down at Sugarcube Corner. That's where I make cupcakes and muffins and all sorts of yummy treats! I'll make sure to find you when I am done! Okay bye Silly!!" With that Pinkie happily hopped out the front door of the library and down the path to Sugarcube Corner.
At that moment Rainbow Dash flew down to the front door, probably watching the whole thing unfold from a cloud overhead.
"HAH, Scan totally got Pinkie'd!!" Rainbow said with a big laugh to complement it. "Man Scan. With that amazing hearing of yours I would be surprised it you can still hear me talk about you by now! Pinkie Pie totally nailed you with that tackle!"
I looked at Silver. He was completely emotionless.
"What just happened?"
I giggled a bit.
"You have just been invited to one of Pinkie Pie's parties. Don't worry, she does that to all the new ponies in Ponyville. That is how she earned her cutie mark. She is quite the 'party hard' kinda gal."
"Oh..." Silver said as he slowly brushed himself off. He look like he had just been fallen of a cliff. His normally short, swept back mane was facing in all different directions. I looked over to Dash.
"Pffffffftt..! AHAHAHAHAH!! Oh my gosh Scan! You look terrible! You should see yourself..!-" Rainbow suddenly realized what she had just said.
"Oh, sorry Silver... I didn't mean to..." Rainbow Dash looked like she was about punch herself in the face.
"No, no. It's fine, I know you didn't mean to say that. I forgive you." He said as he quickly fixed it mane and returned it to its original swept back style.
"Oh... Well in that case..." Rainbow Dash flew into the room and tackled Silver into the bookcase behind us knocking all the neatly placed books onto the ground. "I didn't hurt you enough! Come here!" Rainbow said with a light laugh. I looked at Silver, he was smiling as much as Rainbow was, trying hard to swat Rainbow of himself to no avail.
"Okay, Rainbow! Okay, okay! Get off me!" Silver said.
Rainbow Dash flapped her wings a couple times until she was hovering of the ground.
"Wow Silver, you give up way to easy. Well I'll catch you three later. I'll be sure to show up at your party Scan! Be there!" And with that Rainbow flew through the door and out into the sky.
Silver got up slowly and brushed himself off with a forehoof and stretched his wings.
"That's two times I have been tackled in one minute. Anypony else?" He said in a sarcastic tone.
Right then and there, Rainbow Dash came back through the door again and tackled Silver into another neatly ordered bookcase, knocking all of the books onto the ground.
"Oh yeah Twilight." Rainbow said as she tossed me a long overdue romance novel with her mouth. "I forgot to drop this off." She looked at Silver and knowing full well that he couldn't see her, she winked at him. She picked herself up again and waved back at us as she flew out.
"Bye Silver! See you later!" She called out.
"Bye Rainbow! Catch you later!" Silver said. With that Rainbow flew of into the sky once more.
"Make that three, anypony else?" He said as he looked at me with a light smile on his face.
"Not a chance." I said with a laugh.
"Spike?" Silver said.
"Well now that you mention it..."
"Spike..." I said.
"Awww... But he is totally asking for it!"
"Come on, we got some things we have to do. The Princess is coming over and I wanted to prepare some thing before hand."
"Ah okay then. Where are we going?"
"Er, I was hoping you could stay and watch the library." I quickly grabbed a pen and paper with my magic and scribbled down a note for Spike.

"Er, I was hoping you could stay and watch the library." Twilight said quickly. Hmm, what was she up to. I was thinking but that was cut of as I saw two objects enveloped in the same lavender purple aura as the mare. It looked like a pen and paper.
'Spike, I'm just going out on a walk with Silver. See if I can find anything out, just play along.' Then, as quickly as they appeared, the two items vanished as the aura slowly faded away.
"Okay Spike, there is a list of things you need to do before I get back."
"What? Oh, yeah..! I'll get right on that! You two just go out and do those... uh.." Spike said.
I felt Twilight push me outside and onto the streets.
"Yeah okay bye!" She said as she closed the door behind her.
Outside was not to bad. There was a cool breeze making its way down the street and I could feel the suns rays shine down onto the small town. I was sure there was not a cloud in the sky.
"So I see your enjoying yourself Silver. You seem to be getting along quite well with my friends." Twilight said.
"Eh, well if you mean 'getting along with' is exactly the same as 'surviving encounters with' then yes, I suppose so."
Twilight giggle again.
"Well I suppose your right, but what about Fluttershy. She hasn't tackled you. Yet."
Just the thought of it. Such a gentle mare... Would she really be up to tackling anypony? That thought was cut of by the sound of Twilight's laughter.
"Of course Fluttershy isn't the pony to really tackle somepony."
"Yeah, really. She is quite shy, isn't she." I said.
"Well yeah, but she cares for any and every injured or wounded animal. Even though she is shy, she is very kind. After all, it is her element."
Element?
"Elemtent?" I said.
"Nevermind. We can talk about that later. About earlier though, you said you had a bad dream?" Twilight said. Her voice was as gentle as possible. Her voice sounded concerned, ready to listen to whatever I had to say.
"Well..." I started. "Well... It was a little strange... You see... It was dark, and all I heard was the voice of somepony talking out loud."
"Really? What did they say?!" Twilight said. I looked over to her, some of the color drained of the sphere that rep. "Oh, that was a little loud, wasn't it?"
I nodded politely.
"Well it was saying things like 'This will complicate things, but I am sure it will work.' and then I felt an intense heat washed over me. My entire body was burning up."
Twilight said nothing. I looked over into her direction. She had small purple shapes of light around her sphere. Slowly they pieced themselves together but some were obviously missing...
"Interesting... Is that all?"
"Well then I felt something touch my back, but then... That's kind when you woke me up."
The light puzzle around Twilight's sphere quickly crumbled into the darkness again. "Oh..." She said.
"Sorry... That's all that really happened." I could feel the cold air slowly roll of the glass orb.
"No no, it's fine. I wonder what that could mean though. I mean, intense heat and pain... That is kind of weird..."
"Yeah... I guess..."
"Although it you might be recalling a certain event from your past." Twilight said.
An event from my past...? Did that happen to me...? I bit my lip at the thought, no. I didn't want to believe it, it must have some sort of subconscious meaning.
"Well just around this corner we can pick up some lu- Oh Silver watch out!!" Twilight shouted.
"Huh..?"
Bam!
I felt my face hit a coarse wooden surface. I was going to stop, but my body had other plans as it walked straight into whatever I had just walked into. All I heard next after the crash of the wood against the stone paved road was the small patter of something rolling down the street. Somepony was probably carrying something in this cart. It had to be a lot of something because the sound only multiplied as the small patter turned into a wave of sound. It sounded like whatever was in that cart was now all over the street.
"Wha' in tarnation..?!" Said a voice.
I faced the direction the voice came from. It was coming from another glass sphere. This one was a bright orange and it had a bright red fire angrily whipping around it.
"Do ya kno' how long it takes to buck them apples?!" Said the voice.
"Applejack..." Twilight said.
"It dun took me a whole lot'a time to buck that many apples!"
"Applejack."
"Now what am Ah gonna sell now? Ah can't go sellin' apples 'at been rolling around in the street!"
"Applejack..!"
"You should watch where you 're going! Are yew blind or somethin'?!"
"Applejack!!" Twilight finally.
"What is it-! Twilight..?" Applejack said.
"Rustic Silver is blind, he couldn't see where he was going. I'm sure he is sorry for ruining your apples, right Silver?"
I turned to face Applejack and I nodded slowly. I could feel my face, it was burning up.
"Yeah, I'm really sorry... I didn't mean to... It's just that I can't see... very... well..."
The color drained from the bright orange sphere as it was replaced with a watered down grey.
"Oh... Sorry fer yellin' at you like that... It just that it take a lot of time to buck 'em apples..."
"No, don't need to apologies. It was my fault for walking into your cart, I must of made a mess."
I looked over at Applejack, the color had slowly seeped back in.
"No, really. Ah didn' mean to yell at you like that... Ah didn' want to hurt anyponies feelings..."
The glass orb has now some bright neon color between red and orange.
"No it's okay I forgive you, but to you forgive me? You sounded pretty mad when I knocked over your apples.." It was true, she sounded like she was about to buck me straight in the face. And from what I understand, she is a farmer pony and who knows how hard she might of bucked me...
"Of course sugarcube, Ah forgive you. Ah know you didn' mean to knock over 'em apples." Applejack said with an apologetic tone.
I smiled warmly as I stood up and stretched my wings.
"Alright ponies, there is nothing to see here, let's move along." Twilight said.
What? There had been other ponies watching us? I listened carefully, I could hear the quiet hoofsteps of our spectators making their way back to there normal everyday activities. They were probably outside to see what might of happened if Applejack started getting crazy. They must thought I was crazy for just walking into Applejack's cart and knocking it over. They probably didn't even know I was blind.
"Well Ah need to return to Sweet Apple Acres to buck some 'ore apples to sell." Applejack said.
Maybe I could make it up to Applejack, I did feel sorry for ruining an entire batch of apples.
"Maybe I could help? It's the least I can do after ruining your apples."
"Sure!" Applejack said. "Ah wouldn' mind having an extra pair of legs around the farm. Although how will you find the trees..." I heard Applejack say as started walking off. "Oh..! This way sugarcube, Follow me."
"How about we just teleport there? It would be much easier for Silver, plus you don't need to pull that cart all the way back." Twilight said.
"That would be a great idea Twi'!" Applejack said as she trotted back over to us. "Okay Ah am ready. Let's go Twi'!"
I looked over to see Twilight's light purple aura envelope the orange sphere that represented Applejack as well as the cart that she was pulling. Shortly after there was a small burst of light as Applejack, her cart, Twilight disappeared from view.
But the strange thing was right before they vanished I felt as small bolt of something shock me then quickly spread out around me and envelope some apples that were laying around me. They too vanished along with Applejack and Twilight.
I sat there for a moment. Nothing felt different, The ground still was made up of the smooth stones that paved the streets of Ponyville...

Whoosh!
With a burst of light we arrived at Sweet Apple Acres.
"Alright Silver, welcome to Sweet App- Oof!" Applejack said. She rubbed her head with a fore hoof as and apple fell right on top of her. "What the hay?" She said.
I looked around, we weren't even close to any apple trees how did that apple hit her? I looked around some more to see that there were a lot of apples scattered all over the ground, I didn't teleport those. Wait...
"Where Silver?"
Applejack looked around.
"I thought you used yer magic to get him over to Sweet Apple Acres." Applejack said.
"I did, but he is not here..." I felt a pang of guilt eat away at me.
"Are you sure? Are you sure you didn't move 'em somewhere else Twi?"
The guilt was slowly eating away at me. I know I used the teleportation spell on Silver. I channeled my magic to him. So I couldn't of messed up, but then were is Silver? I have never messed up a teleportation spell before! For all I know Silver might be in some alternate universe!
Applejack must of heard me think as she spoke to me.
"Now don't go frettin' sugarcube. Ah am sure there is a good explanation fer why Silver ain't here."
"No no no! I never mess up that spell. What if he is in a alternate universe?! He must be so scared right now! How would he survive?! He is blind! Oh my gosh what are we going to do?!"
I looked out into the horizon. The sun was about to set. It was getting late.
"Calm down Twi. Let's go look for him." Applejack said.

I sat there, still thinking about what had happened. I felt something grab me and spin me around.
"What are you doing out here Silly? Are you loco in the coco? Come on, you party has already started!" With that I was dragged of my hooves and down the street.
"Pinkie?" I said.
"Yeah Silly?"
Okay, that explains just about everything.
"Nothing."
"Okay! We are here! Hey everypony! I brought our guest of honor!" Pinkie Pie said. Were we that close to Sugarcube Corner?
I heard the sounds of ponies around me cheer and the sounds of noise makers and party favors, but I didn't see anything. I was expecting a whole bunch of glass spheres around me. Nothing was there though. All I saw was the multicolored sphere that represented Rainbow Dash and the light yellow one that represented Fluttershy. They were standing next to another sphere. It was a bright white, untarnished in anyway.
"Hey Scan! I see you made it to your party with some help!" Rainbow said as she flew over to me and gave me a small hug. "Where is Applejack and Twilight?"
I thought for a moment. They had just disappeared without a trace. Although...
"I think they teleported off to Sweet Apple Acres.."
"Why would they do that? Just leave you out in the middle of the street?" This was a new voice
"Uh..."
"Oh this is Rarity, Silver. She is one of our friends down at the Boutique down the road." Fluttershy said.
"Ah yes, I design some of the most fashionable clothing in all of Equestria!" Rarity said. "It is just a shame that you can not see my beautiful crafts!"
"Yeah, I wish I could. I bet that they would be absolutely stunning." I said.
"What a gentlecolt, Silver!" Rarity said. There was a warm air hanging around in the room and I could just feel all the warmth and kindness around me.
"Hey Scan, you said that Twilight and Applejack are at Sweet Apple Acres?" Rainbow Dash said.
"Yeah, why?"
"Well I'll go get them right now. Be right back, you won't even miss me." Rainbow said as I heard the door swing open.

"He ain't at Sweet Apple Acres Twi."
"Where could of he gone?!"
I was freaking out now. What if I teleported him into a tree or something, or maybe into the ground! Poor Silver, what have I done to him?!
"Twi, don't fret. Ah am sure he'll turn up somewhere." Applejack said putting her hoof on my shoulder.
Just then Rainbow Dash swoop down from the sky.
"Hey Twilight, Applejack! Silver said you two would be here! Come on! We are all at his welcome party!"
What?
"Silver is at his party?" Applejack said.
"Yeah"
I didn't wait. I quickly teleported all of us to Sugarcube Corner. I looked around and to my relief Silver was standing right there obviously noticing that we just appeared in the middle of the room.
"Oh there you gals are! We don't want to keep our guest waiting!" Rarity said.
"Yeah let's party!" Pinkie and Rainbow said.
I looked over to Silver who turned to face us, He didn't look at me. He just kind of shot a look in my direction. He smiled lightly.
I smiled too.
"Do you know how long it took us to search around Sweet Apple Acres Silver? Like two hours! Two! Hours!" I said as we all laughed.

Most of the ponies have left by now. It was just the 7 of us now.
"Well it's been fun gals." Rarity said. "Oh and Silver. I have had fun but I really must be off, I need to get some orders finished." With that Rarity walked out of the door, she was making her way out the door, but as she walked out she froze.
"Hey Rarity are you okay?" Silver said.
She didn't say anything, all she did was stared up into the sky. Quickly, I walked over to her side and looked to the sky. At first I didn't notice anything wrong with it, except...
"Sweet Celestia..." Applejack said with a gulp. The sun was low in the sky, right on the horizon.
"But that can't be right..." Rarity said. "We have been in that house for hours now!"
Everyone but Silver had there mouths agape.

I felt an extreme amount of cold air flowing around my hooves. It was really uncomfortable. It nipped lightly at my hooves and it only seemed to get colder as my friends did not say a word. I couldn't take it anymore, I was the first to speak up.
"What is going on? Is there something I need to know about...?" I said carefully. I was not exactly happy to hear what Twilight said to me.
"It's nothing you need to worry about Silver. It's nothing really."
"Nothing really?!" Rainbow said with an a mocking tone. "What do you mean it's nothing really? The sun has been in the same place for the last couple hours! I think that's something really Twilight.."
I reeled back at this thought. The sun not setting? What kind of effects might this have here in Ponyville? We have been in Sugarcube Corner for hours. Surely the sun should of set long ago and the moon should of taken it place in the sky.
I slowly looked at the glass spheres that represented my friends, each indistinguishable from one another. They were all a very watered down version of there original colors. Was it that bad...?
"Do you know what this could do to our ecosystem? Not to mention our sleeping patterns this changes everything!" Twilight blurted out.
I faced Twilight, she must of been pulling her mane out because I could feel the cold air rushing from her like and arctic blast had just hit Ponyville. The rest of the gang must of noticed because one by one they began to speak trying to comfort the unicorn.
"Now don't fret darling, I'm sure the Princess will know what to do."
"Yeah, I bet the Princesses will find a way to fix this!" Rainbow Dash said with her normal amount of enthusiasm. "Right Scan?" I turned to face Rainbow Dash. I think she wanted to put my two bits into the situation.
"Yeah Twilight. Try not to think of the glass as half full or half empty." I began. "Sometimes the glass is to small and you shouldn't worry about it." This seemed to cheer up the mare as the color seeped back into each of the mares.
"Wow Scan, that was some really deep stuff you said there."
Suddenly I noticed a bright white dot materialize about us. It was small at first but it quickly grew in size as I could feel the powerful magic emanate from it. its appearance was quickly followed by a soft feminine voice that spoke to all of us.
"Why, indeed it was Rainbow Dash."

I was thinking about what Silver had said. Maybe he was right, we shouldn't be worrying about the little things. I remember the Princess saying something about a crisis in Canterlot. I shook the thought from my head. I took Silver's words to heart. I knew he meant it and I knew he only wanted to comfort me. He could probably tell by the tone of my friend's voices that I was freaking out and tried his best to make me feel better.
"Wow Scan, that was some really deep stuff you said there." Rainbow Dash said.
Following Rainbow's comment was a bright flash of white light that was coming from the center of us. I covered my eyes with my hoof as the flash of light only intensified.
"Yes indeed it was Rainbow Dash." Said the light. I brought my hoof down from my eyes as the light died down. I knew I have heard that voice from somewhere before.
"Princess Celestia!" Pinkie Pie said as she jumped into the air with a great big smile on her face.
"Hello my little ponies. I see you have noticed the sun." Celestia said now facing towards the sun. We all looked in that direction hoping to spot whatever the Princess might of been looking at. It was silent for a long time, but Silver spoke up and broke the silence.
"If is so dare as speak to you Princess..." He started. "Why haven't you lowered the sun yet...?"
We all turned out attention back to the Princess. She stood there, proud and tall for a moment. Her mane flowing in the nonexistent breeze. The alabaster alicorn's face was emotionless as she collected her thoughts and began to speak.
"Let us go inside my ponies. We have much to discuss." She said slowly. I walked back into Sugarcube corner and waited for the rest of my friends to follow in suit. One by one we all made out way into the bakery. We all took a seat down onto the floor. All but Princess Celestia and Silver were sitting with us. Silver was having trouble finding his way into the room stumbling around and almost walking into the walls of the bakery.
"Come on Silver, follow the sound of voice." Rainbow said with a mocking tone.
"It's kind of hard not to." Silver replied. With that comment Rainbow blew a raspberry and then laughed at Silver.
"Now now Rainbow Dash, that is not how we treat friends." Celestia said slowly guiding Silver into the room with one of her wings. They looked like a mother and child with the way that the Princess has guiding Silver, how she shielded and protected him. They made there way into the room and sat down onto the floor next to us.
I took a good look at the Princess. She still appeared strong, bold, and as beautiful as ever but something seemed off about her... Rarity was the first to notice.
"Oh dear me Princess! Why are the gems that adorn your crown and necklace missing?"
The Princess just let out a sigh as she began to explain what exactly going on.
"Ah so I see you have noticed. Well that is what I have come to inform you about. A terrible crime has befallen apon Equestria." The Princess said.
I recalled the note that she had sent me earlier.
I would have come sooner but my visit might be delayed for a terrible crisis has come up in Canterlot.
"Is this the crisis that has come up in Canterlot?" I said.
"Yes my Faithful Student. Somepony has stolen the gems that adorn both Princess Luna's crown and necklace as well as my own.
I turned to look at her crown and necklace, and like she said, where there once was a shining gem was replaced with an empty nothingness.
I turned back to the Princess with a question in mind.
"What does this have to do with anything?"
The Princess gestured Silver to sit next to her as she sat down next to him. Her wing still around him.
"Well you see Twilight, those crystals help both me and my sisters radiate our magic over a larger area. They don't make us more powerful in anyway, but they are essential when raising and lowering the sun and moon. We need those crystals so we can spread our magic out and move the sun and moon."
Whoa so that's how it works... I wanted to hear more.
"Really? Tell me more..! Please..."
The Princess lightly laughed as she answered me.
"Oh yes of course Twilight, but only because you are so eager to listen to what I have to say." This was met with half laughs from everyone around me. Everyone except Silver who was listening attentively.
"You see when you channel magic to the crystal it disperses all of the magic applied to it without wasting a single drop. The crystal, you see, can only spread out the magic that is applied, not keep it. So therefore the gem cannot be directly changed by magic in any way, shape, or form." The Princess said as she nodded her head. It sounded like she had practiced this many times.
I started piecing together the parts in my mind; Gems of the two Princesses... Can't be affected by magic... Disperses magic over a larger area... Silver's cutie mark... Silver not teleporting... Apples teleporting...
Then it hit me.
"Oh no..." I said out loud.
The Princess raised a brow as she looked at me.
"What is the matter Twilight?"
I needed to talk to the Princess privately...
"Uh Princess... Can I speak to you privately...?" I nervously said.
The Princess must of seen my expression because she just nodded her head and gestured the rest of the ponies out of the room. Once they were all outside she carefully closed the door with her magic and turned to face me.
"What seems to be the problem Twilight?" She asked me.
I swallowed hard as I was not going to like this conversation, I could tell.
"I think I know where your crystals might of gone... You might want to do something about the room. I have a feeling that somepony is listening to us." I said knowing full well that Silver was probably outside listening to our conversation.
"No need to worry dear." Princess Celestia said as her horn glowed. I looked around and saw that the doors and windows of the bakery were faintly glowing with the same white light that emanated from the Princesses horn.
She looked at me and smiled.
"Now what did you want to tell me?"

"Do ya hear anythin' sugarcube?" Applejack said.
'What seems to be the problem Twilight?'
"Twilight wanted to speak to the Princess privately and discuss an issue."
"Anything else Scan? Dude you hearing is amazing. I can't even hear them, and I have my ear up against the door." Rainbow Dash said. I was standing just a bit behind her focusing on the sound coming from the closed door.
'I think I know where your crystals might of gone...'
"Twilight thinks she knows where the crystals have gone..." I strained to listen to the rest of what Twilight had to say but it was drowned out by the concerned mares behind me. They must of been confused for all I heard were 'gasps' and questions coming from them.
"Oh my..."
"Twilight know's where they are?"
"Why didn' Twi tell us?"
"Yeah! Why does she have to be alone with the Princess?!"
"Oh my Celestia! I left a balloon outside!"
'No need to worry dear.'
"Shh the Princess is saying something..." I said.
"What is she saying?" Rainbow said.
I would of told them, but it all stopped. It was like I just suddenly went deaf.
"Well? Spit it out sugarcube! No need to worry! We can take it!"
My ears drooped as I noticed the outlines of the window and door surrounded by the same white light from earlier.
"Sorry gals." I said flatly. "The Princess doesn't want us to hear what Twilight has to say." This was meant by more gasps from the mares. Except Rainbow Dash.
"Ah come on! We won't get to hear any of the juicy stuff!" Rainbow said.
I didn't want to strain myself any longer than I needed to.
"Ugh, I guess we have to wait." I shivered as a familiar icy wind made its way down the street.
"Oh my... It is getting a little cold outside." Said Fluttershy.
"Good thing I brought a blanket! I knew we would need this!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Thank you Pinkie! I am absolutely freezing out here!"
"Hey sugarcube! Why don't you come over here with us? You look pretty cold out there!" Applejack said.
Before I could reply I felt a hoof drag me to the side of sugarcube corner and under the thick blanket.
"Come on Silly before you catch a cold or somthing!" Pinkie said.
"Thanks Pinkie." I said smiling in her direction. I regretted doing that because then Pinkie hugged me so tightly I could feel my lower ribs grind against each other.
"Don't mention it!" She said as she plopped down next to me.
It was warmer under the blanket. I could hear the sounds of at least 4 ponies lightly sleeping beside me. I was about to doze off myself when I felt a wing stretch out and over me, embracing me passionately. It was a little shocked. There were only two mares with wings... And Fluttershy was not even close to me...
"R-Rainbow Dash?" I whispered. My face was burning up, my heart was pounding within my chest.
"Yes Silver?" She said.
My heart was beating so fast at that moment. I was at a lost for words...
"I-..I-..."
My sentence was cut short when I felt her kiss me on the cheek.
"Shut up and just enjoy it Scan." She whispered to me.
My mind was a mess, I couldn't think straight. Thank Celestia there was no pony outside in the streets because I must of been making myself look like a foal. I didn't want to say anything. Slowly, ever so slowly, I placed my arm around Rainbow Dash.
And to my surprise, she did the same to me.
My world stopped right then and there.

"That's why I think Silver has the crystal." I finished saying.
The Princess just stood there, completely emotionless. It was silent for a long time before she spoke.
"Are you sure Twilight? Are absolutely sure?" The Princess said looking at me with genuine concern.
"Yes, everything adds up. How I didn't teleport him, how he radiated magic to things around him, his cutie mark that looks like the gems and has the sun and moon around it! I am positive." I finished saying.
"That is what I feared..." The Princess said slowly. "I felt the crystals presence when I teleported myself here."
"Does that mean Silver stole the crystal...?" I didn't want to believe it. Silver was so kind, so innocent, he wasn't capable of such things... Right?
"No, no, no Twilight. Silver did not steal the crystals. His heart is pure and true." The Princess said.
This calmed me down a bit, but something was still nagging at me in my thoughts.
"Then how can he do all these things?"
The Princess collected her thoughts and spoke to me.
"His body is infused with the crystals."
I didn't believe it...
"What does that mean... What does that mean, for Equestria..?"
The Princess walked over to the curtains and pulled them back with a wing. There lying under the covers were my friends huddled together with Rainbow Dash and Rustic Silver in a passionate embrace.
"If Equestria is to survive this crisis." She said as she turned to me with misty eyes.
"We have to kill Rustic Silver."
