“Dash!”
“Dash wake up! You have a visitor!”
A voice called to the sleeping rainbow dash. She awoke, looked around here little wooden room. She saw a desk and chair with a candle sitting atop of it. To her right a wooden cabinet filled with two outfits a green tunic and some of her sleepwear. The sleepy pony slowly walked down the wooden stairs.
“Dash! You look a mess does thou not want to clean thyself?” Dash’s grandfather said with sweat pouring down his face from the large stove spewing heat into the room. The hammer clenched in his hooves was forging a bright red sword that lay upon the anvil. Dash’s grandfather was the royal blacksmith and Dash lived with him all her life; never knowing her real parents. Dash’s mind clicked, ‘Oh crap who was the visitor?’ Dash looked to the door and standing there was the beautiful, astonishing, lovely, Princess Twilight.
“A thousand pardons for my attire milady, what may I help you with?” Dash cordially said, bowing as you are supposed to around royalty.
“Rise my friend. I have come to ask if you, Dash a friend of my childhood, would accompany me to the Picori Festival?” The princess politely said to the dumbfounded cyan pony.
“A-absolutely your highness!” dash said eagerly.
“Please, Stop with that, you don’t need to address me as higher class then you, we are friends, you can call me Twilight!” Twilight said to the still dumbfounded pony.
“Yes ma- oh uhm, Twilight!” Dash said, then ran upstairs to clean and get changed.
“She a cute, strange mare.” Twilight chuckled.
“Ey, she has been a strange mare ever since she came here, but she has potential. When she finds that one thing, the magic in her body will give her the cutie mark that she always wanted…” Dash’s grandfather said. “I’m sure she will be destined for great things…”
Chapter 1: The Picori Festival
Dash, dressed in her usual green tunic was walking along side Twilight as they entered the large gates to Canterlot. The nice little town that was in front of the castle. Dash lived outside of the town a place called the Southlands.
“I’m ever so delighted that you could come Dash! It’s been so long since we were together” Twilight said.
“Yeah I mean, ever since you left school…” Dash said shyly. When she knew Twilight back when they were fillies, she didn’t know that Twilight was royalty. Twilight hid it, she didn’t want to be royalty, and she hated it with a passion. She hid if from everypony and posed as a normal townsfolk, until her father, King Whooves found out. He was outraged! No child of his will mingle with the ‘peasants’ living in that town, she needs a royal education.
“Yes well, those were dark times indeed, but lay the past where it is! We are here!” Twilight announced. The sight was astonishing to Dash, hundreds of people were flooding all around the small little village. There were people in the stream to the left of the entrance, mostly children I assume, they were trying to escape the bright summer’s sun.
“Whoa, this is amazing! Does this happen every year?” Dash questioned.
“Why yes Dash, hast thou not ever been here?” Twilight asked.
“No I haven’t, it beautiful…” Dash said astonished.
Twilight chuckled lightly. “Well then, I’m delighted that your first time is with a dear friend!” twilight said putting her hoof around Dash. They walked to the center of the town, merchants and games where everywhere.
“Wow, there’s a lot of stuff to see here.” Dash said, “Oh! Look at this!” she ran over to a carpet placed on the ground and a fat pony sitting on it ringing a bell.
The fat pony yelled out “Step right up! Step right! Have a chance to win these amazing prizes!” Twilight entered the fat ponies lottery and somehow won. “Congratulations Miss Twilight! You can have one of the amazing prizes!” in front of Twilight and dash was a beautiful red ruby, a jar filled with riches and a tiny wooden shield. “My I advise the ruby milady?” the pony selling the lottery tickets said.
“Oh I’ll have that shield!” Twilight said. This shocked both dash and the merchant.
“A-are thou sure?” the confused merchant pony asked.
“Yup! It’s so cute!”
“Well o-okay then…” Twilight grabbed the tiny wooden shield and handed it to Dash. “Here! I thought you might like it! Maybe it’ll help you get your cutie mark!” Twilight said joyfully.
“Th-thanks twilight, you didn’t need to though…” Dash said, but by the time she did she was off running in the direction of the castle. Dash quickly began to follow when a hoof landed on her shoulder.
“D-dash… you need to give this to the… King… it’s for the royal sword tournament” it was Dash’s grandfather who ran here for an old stallion like that, it was hard. He handed her a sword in a sash. She strapped the sword to her back and ran after Twilight.
“Twilight! Hey Twilight!” dash yelled running up to the purple unicorn. Twilight ran out of the little town and was walking to the castle. Twilight seemed… distraught.
“Twilight? What’s wrong?” Dash asked.
“That deku shrub hit I… and its blocking the way to the castle…” Twilight said in dismay. Dash thinking on her hooves jumped in front of the shrub; instinctively it shot its nut at her. Quickly she blocked it; the nut flew back and hit the deku shrub. The shrub dug back underground defeated.
“There! Safe to pass princess!” dash said victoriously.
“Oh thank you dash!” Twilight said walking to the castle with Dash.
“And it is with the greatest honor that we allow the winner of the sword tournament-“ The king announced to the civilians and visitors of the swordsmen tournament when he saw Dash and Twilight walking to the Royal garden where this tournament was held. “Twilight and friend! Come here and observe the winner of the tournament!” the King’s voice boomed at them. Twilight stood next to the King and Dash walked up to the King as well, handed him the sacred sword that her grandfather forged and walked back to the front of the crowd. “Now! I want the winner of the tournament to step forth, and touch the legendary Picori Blade that is bound in the Bound Chest!” the King’s voice boomed.
A shadowed figure approached the bound chest “Hehehe…. Fools!” The shadowed pony chuckled “TIS I VAATI!” then everyone jumped in shock. Quickly the dark purple unicorn wearing the sleek black hood and cape grabbed the Picori Blade and broke it, removing the bound on the chest that holds everything evil. A large black tornado launched out of the chest the clouds darkened, the world seemed to stop in its tracks. “BWHAHAHAHAHA! FOOLS! LETTING ME SO CLOSE TO THE LIGHT STONES! THE ONLY COMPONENT IN THE TRIFORCE!” Vaati screamed over the rushing sound of evil flying out from the chest.
Then, silence. There was nothing just silence. Nopony moved, nopony said anything.
“Hm? What’s this? The light forces?! I-it’s not here!? WHAT IS THIS!?” Vaati yelled “I CURSE THEE PRINCESS! SO YOU SHALL NOT RUIN MY PLANS! I SHALL FIND THEM MYSELF!” Vaati said in angry at the princess, blasting her with a curse turning her into stone. A collective gasp is heard as Vaati laughs and teleports out. Everyone is shocked the king, the guards, the civilians.
More Than ever though, is Rainbow dash.
