You stare into the slowly swaying leaves of a potato plant.

A pair of approaching hoofsteps stops abruptly, and you can feel Twilight’s presence next to you. “Hey, those are looking pretty good!”

“Soaring to the sky,” you breathe. “Little by little, improving themselves each day. Only to be eaten by us.”

Twilight Sparkle giggles. “You’ve spent too much time around plants.”

“Undeniably,” you reply, lifting up your gaze to look at her. “Not all alone, though. Your friend Applejack was a big help in the project!”

“She knows her apples better than her tubers, but it was still interesting to get some perspective from her.” A devilish smile slowly crawls across her face. “It was great to put a scientific basis to a few of her pieces of ‘advice’, but I loved destroying most of her old wives’ tales more.”

“We have enough for several papers, I’d guess,” you tell her. “How does it feel to be the Princess of Friendship and an emerging authority on plants?”

“It feels great,” Twilight replies quickly, full of gusto. “And, I owe it all to you!” She winks once at you before turning to leave.

You watch her well-proportioned frame saunter out of the makeshift castle greenhouse and are cast into thought. Your project is drawing to an end and you’d have to leave soon after you composed and submitted your papers to botany journals; certainly, you should do something to thank Princess Twilight for her help and hospitality!
