Author's Notes:

[Attention]

This is a long freaking chapter, so I ask of you to take breaks and not read it all at once. If it is too long for you, I will say you can skip it... but this is full of break downs, confessions, and things ponies need to get off their chests before they might die. This is war guys, so if you were expecting a short chapter I am sorry to say I do not think that was ever possible!

Summerized for the people who wish to skip it: Pinkamena prepares for war, and Celestia gathers all the allying nations to take her down.

Yeah, so if you want to see some sad stuff, realism, and the effect war has on ponies read this... but if you want to see some teeth and claws wait for the next chapter.

Also can I get some feedback with the cover art I now have on my story? I think it is awesome, but I would love to hear your opinions! Thanks for waiting so long for this chapter, I applaud you for being pateint! Now, enjoy the first part of the war!

Water dripped along the sides of rocky walls, as distant light shone softly from the core of a cave. Something moved cautiously but respectfully, dipping its head below writhing roots as their hooves clopped on the stone floor. The temperature was cool the air dampened with an earthy aroma, as frost formed on the feathers of the pony approaching the growing light in front of her. Everything was silent, except for her hoof-steps and the occasional twist from an active plant constricting the rocks around it. This cave was alive living and breathing just like any animal, but the power radiating from its form was almost terrifying.

Spiders bent to the will of the pony marking her path towards the heart of the living mass of plant life, scattering themselves when she came near. The crystal-like magic that illuminated from the ceiling lit the way for the pony, as she ducked through small spaces approaching something humming sweetly. The mane flowing behind her and her tail matching its movements resembled the brightest rainbow along a hue of colors made of pale magenta, cerulean, turquoise, cobalt blue, and the last color of a pinkish heliotrope. Her mane was tied back, flowing out of a golden helm that reflected the light off of it, making sparkles dance on the walls. Her body was bulky resembling a knight geared up to face a hungry dragon while her armor covered her white fur from back to belly.

The armor was old, dented, and battle-scarred with ancient burns and slashes marring the glossy finish. It was not fancy and only built to do its job to protect the wearer from the foe she was to be protected against. Frothy water running along the cracks in the mineral enriched ground trickled softly, as the steady breaths of the Princess of the Sun quickened when the mass in front of her was revealed:

A thickened tree trunk sprouted out from underneath the crystals surrounding it, as cracks from the overworld cast light on its glistening and magical branches. Saying it was breathtaking was an understatement. The pulse racing underneath the dirt matched the rhythm of her heartbeat as the magic from its base overwhelmed her.

She bowed before it, her knees spreading the dirt around her resting forelimbs as her mane kissed the roots by her bowing head. "I have come seeking your guidance."

The water dripping from above was the only sound, as the tree remained silent. Celestia kept her head bowed, unaware of a slithering root that cupped her chin and tilted it upwards, "Dear Celestia, I sense your worry. What causes the tremble in your heart? Have I not provided you with the means necessary to control what is yours?"

The root sank back onto the ground, as Celestia kept her head upwards to look at the Elements lodged into the tree's surface, "No I have trusted in your plans, but I cannot keep myself from fearing that Soul Seeker can overpower us! She has avoided confrontation for so long, but has now recruited Equestria's most dangerous villains! I am not sure... I am not sure that Luna and I, along with the Elements of Harmony will be enough!"

"I see... I agree to a point that Soul Seeker is a powerful foe, but she is not powerful in the mind."

Celestia shook her head. "I do not understand Tree of Harmony."

The Tree shifted its roots cutting through the stone as if it were paper before continuing, "The loss of her family caused her to go into a rage, forgetting her virtues and doing anything to stop us. When you banished her into that cavern, I will not disagree that her powers have turned into something to be reckoned with after having so much time to develop them... but her mind is soft, easily persuaded."

"Are you saying we should make a deal to avoid bloodshed at all costs?" Celestia asked.

"No my child, she would never do such a thing. The last time you fought her, do you remember what happened?"

"Yes, her emotions ran wild. She nearly sliced me in half with her scythe, almost killing Shadowbound in her rage trying to take me down." Celestia said, rubbing her chest gingerly at the memory. "That is why I always wear my golden pendant to cover the scar, to give the impression that ponies with my power do not bleed."

The Tree responded by using a root to touch her armored chest, "Emotions are her greatest weakness. With that in mind, I can promise you that with my aid we can defeat her."

Celestia bowed her head, "I do not doubt you Tree of Harmony, but I must ask how her emotions could possibly be her downfall."

She felt vibrations beneath her, excitement, as the Tree touched the Elements of Harmony. "I doubt we will even need those mares for this job, and we do not need to kill her... just... use her so to say."

Celestia's eyes bugged as she lifted her head. "Y-You have that kind of power?"

The root cupped her chin once more before tapping her nose, "Dear Celestia... by now I would have thought you would understand my abilities. Her emotions make her weak, controllable, especially in the right situations... now, my sweet child... this is what we are going to do...."

The Civil War: Act One

Rushing water could be heard by Bon Bon as mist crept along the sandy ground, gently caressing a body laying against it. Her fur was dampened, making her creamy white coat darken from the wet atmosphere. Her ears twitched while her chin slid against the crushed rocks that the current had carried to shore, as her eyes awakened to a waterfall. The air was moist. But clean as the spray from the peaceful fall brushed against her mane. Her eyes adjusted staring at the lush vegetation, and the calming sight of healthy leaves dipping into an emerald lake in solitude.

The olivine sand that cooled her hooves was pushed back, as she gently raised her aching body from where it rested. A melody stretched over the lake, a distant whistle that matched the calls of the birds while harmonizing with the flow of the water as Bon Bon used her eyesight to cut through the mist. She recognized the music as an ancient melody that has been passed down from generation to generation, a healing song meant to rejuvenate the wounded after a battle. It was hard to present, but every note she heard was flawlessly played basking the forest in its glory. Just listening to its tune pulled her in, causing her hooves to step into the warm water as she approached its sound.

Her tail floated behind her, bobbing on the surface as silver minnows swirled around her body as she moved. The delicate water rippled around her active legs, as her strength pushed her through the calm sea of endless relaxation. The flute got softer sensing her approach as she numbly came to a raised mini-island in the center of the lake. Her mind adjusted to the controlling tempo of the bamboo flute, as her hooves stood solidly on the soaked plants growing from the soil. A pony sat on a rock, her tail sweeping across the mossy surface as she held the flute directly outwards from her right side as the music continued to embrace her.

Her mane was delicately flowing in the breeze, carrying a lax scent of honey and cinnamon through the gust. Wings resembling the darkest time of night unfolded, casting a mighty shadow among Bon Bon as they revealed their features. They were fleshy, and the outside rugged with some tears in between the divided sections along with weather-beaten leathery surfaces on the inside. The pony was battle-scarred, resembling a fierce warrior that carried with them all the wounds they have endured from past battles. Her ear was mangled with torn muscles but had healed over time, along with scars from something slashing at her hide.

She turned revealing her face, as her wings obeyed her commands and folded themselves against her back. Her ruby-red eyes sparkled from the ambiance of the glittering water, as her scarred muzzle relaxed at the sight of what she saw. Bon Bon stood gaping, for she stood in front of the real Soul Seeker the one from the legends that reveled with wounds from past victories. The music stopped playing as Bon Bon focused on the single slash directly over the bridge of her nose, and then glanced as her eyes tenderly locked with her gaze.

"I must ask before you run, to at least listen to what I have to say." Pinkamena said, her voice speaking in the war-bound tone of hers. It never had sounded like Pinkie Pie making clear evidence that they never were the same pony, for her voice had a gravelly resonance like a sergeant.

Bon Bon's eyes lowered into slits of hostility as she spoke with a stentorian voice, "I will never listen to a murderer like you! I have nothing but disrespect for a pony as heartless as you. Celestia will prevail, and your bones will be trampled upon before turning into dust... and being forgotten like you should be!"

Pinkamena's body slowly turned to reveal her chest, the greatly disfigured patches of fur blowing gently from the north breaths of the forest. They grew strangely due to the unnatural burns leaving permanent reminders of her past, as her torn ear flicked before she rested her stomach down on the flat rock.

"If I truly was what you thought I was, why go through all the trouble to speak with you instead of just taking your life on the spot?"

Her voice had changed from such a harsh and ungentle tone, into one that would match the steady warmth from a sun enveloping the calming forest which she now stood in. Bon Bon did not feel in danger even though every fiber in her stiff body told her to flee as she stood tall against the mare who watched her delicately.

"Tell me, Bon Bon," Pinkamena said with a voice as fine as silk as her lightly scarlet irises flickered with a shade of uncertainty. "If I were to show you the truth, would you be willing to listen?"

She hesitated her hoof slightly dragging itself in fine circles before her eyes reflected her venomous feelings, "No! I would never listen to you, your kind repulses me! You feed off of innocent ponies for the pleasure of doing so!"

Pinkamena cocked her head, steadily watching the conversation take such a nasty turn. Bon Bon trembled with rage, a piece of her mane brushing her cheek as her eyes burned with a passion to strike her down of the spot.

"Bon Bon, look at me." Pinkamena said gesturing to her badly beaten body, as she licked her cracked lips while the enraged earth pony swallowed thickly at what was exposed. The scarred mare gently tipped her head to the side before continuing, "If you were wondering, yes this is how my body looks without Black Magic covering it. This should be a marking of what war looks like on just me alone, you have no idea what Celestia could do to Equestria! If this is sickening to you, I couldn't imagine how vile the world would look once she's had her way."

Pinkamena shivered from a winter breeze that came from somewhere deep in her soul, a foreboding feeling just dreaming up the devastation from one tree.

"You deserved everything you got, the scars, the wounds everything! Celestia is trying to save every pony, and you are trying to collect their souls like some sick, twisted pony who collects stamps!"

Her voice was raw with pent-up energy, but the mare on the rock remained calm as her eyes captured the very essence of warm and welcoming waters. Even though Bon Bon clutched the dirt glaring at the pony who rested unmoving above her, she did not appear to be insulted as she gently shook her head.

"I attest to such things, I value life and all it provides. I do not respect those who trample it to make way for others things, that is why I captured Celestia's brainwashed soldiers. My respect goes out to them for bravely going against an unbeatable foe, so I showed mercy. I stored the ones I defeated in the orbs within my armor, before letting them lay dormant in the underworld until after the war. My plan didn't go how I imagined, for I lost the first war and was banished into the caverns under Equestria for two thousand years. The stories that you have heard of are one-sided, I ask for you to give me a chance to explain the other side."

Bon Bon lowered her head, her nose and eyes hiding under her mane as the breeze came forth once more. Pinkamena was patient, like that of a martial arts instructor and her filly students while her posture remained respectful and showing no signs of hostility. Even though she could crush the agent with one flap of her wings, she remained grounded almost as if she were giving Bon Bon a chance to strike her if she so pleased.

Bon Bon sharply spun around, her tail flicking in disrespect to the mare on the stone. Her nose poised itself to shun the warlock who still remained emotionless before she spoke sharply.

"I have no interest in listening to you or what your backstory is! I am going back to Celestia to tell her of my discoveries, so go ahead... strike me down, the only way to stop me is to take my life like the tyrant you are!"

Pinkamena disagreed by lowering her gaze, her intent was never to kill any pony nor was it now. Her teeth clenched painfully, for the words that Bon Bon spat sent waves of resentment down her spine. She despised the feeling of being feared and hated, for she was only the villain because Celestia played the hero.

"If you will not listen to me, I hope there is another you may consider giving an ear to." Pinkamena called after the pony who turned her back to her.

Bon Bon's hooves sloshed against the water as her tail flicked once her words reached her ears, she stopped and paused in the middle of the lake as her expression revealed terror. Her shattered image of being fearless was tainted once her mind jumped to many conclusions of what Pinkamena could have meant. She did not fear the mare herself, but she feared what Soul Seeker could do to others she cared for.

With leveled breathing due to hundreds of hours in training her half-lidded stare peered up at Pinkamena, she suppressed her untamed emotions as her enemy nodded in a specific direction.

"I have not harmed her, just asked her to look into my memories. The spell only works if one is willing to connect emotions and thoughts, which your best friend Lyra agreed to."

Even though Pinkamena spoke with no reason to hide behind a lie, Bon Bon still held her breath as something came forth from behind the waterfall's mist. The minty pelt of her best friend came forward in the light as her golden eyes looked upon her closet friend with kindness. Bon Bon's heart leaped at the sight of her, she was so worried but very furious that her friend had agreed to speak to such a nightmare of a pony!

"What are you doing here Lyra! Go home, this place is dangerous!"

"Bon Bon, quit being a worry wart I am fine silly! I told Pinkamena here you would be a handful, so I came just in case."

Bon Bon's mouth dropped open when Lyra leaned against Soul Seeker's rock with no sign of worry at all! She was relaxed, her pale cyan mane falling across her shoulders as Pinkamena greeted her with a smile.

"I'm sorry Lyra, but did I miss something here?" Bon Bon said seething with a scolding tone.

Lyra numbly shrugged while blinking lazily, "I mean you were out for like two days, so I would agree so! Pinkamena and I made a bet to see how angry you would get at me when you woke up... I think it was a tie!"

Her best friend hoof bumped the mortal enemy of their goddess, as Bon Bon's eye twitched as if she were watching something utterly ridiculous. Lyra was not at all fearful of the soul-sucking maniac just inches away from her, and Bon Bon felt herself getting lightheaded.

Lyra pulled out a ripe banana, "Hey Pinkamena want a bite?" Her companion nodded as Bon Bon's roommate casually held up the fruit for Soul Seeker to nibble on with her magic. The dark pink mare chewed slowly, as her hooves still hung over the edge of the stone while Lyra looked at a fuming Bon Bon, "Oh yeah. I should probably explain how we know each other."

Bon Bon bit the inside of her lip to keep from screaming and throwing her naughty best friend over her back and marching home before replying, "You think? Lyra are you nuts?"

"Nuts...." Lyra said, her mouth hinting that she was salivating as her mind wandered to tasty morsels back in Ponyville before Pinkamena poked her cheek playfully. ".... Hmm? What? Oh, right I was going to explain what happened."

Lyra skipped happily along the forest, sniffing at daisies as she plucked wild berries from lush bushes under the morning sun. Her hums were delicate as her horn tugged strawberries, blackberries, and ripe mulberries from their branches before collecting them in a little flowery basket.

Lyra squinted closer at a certain berry lodged beneath a cluster, "Hmm I think Angel has been here. I hope he didn't nibble on any of the ones I collected."

The mare plucked the half eaten one off the branch, before flicking it on the ground.

"Perhaps I should go deeper towards the ones that are more hidden, I doubt Angel went there."

She hummed brushing her body against the leaves as she pushed through the forest and deeper into Everfree. Her horn pushed passed the low trees, and scratchy sticks, before she found a holy grail of untouched berries.

"Oooo, Bon Bon is going to be so excited for her smoothie!" Lyra squealed, dancing in place as she started to collect as many as her basket could hold.

"Screw you Pinkamena, your ideas are AWFUL!"

Pinkie Pie's shrill and angry voice made Lyra's horn drop her collected berries, as she jumped in a bush out of instinct. She wondered what Pinkie Pie was doing way out here.... and who she was talking to. Lyra held her breath, as something dull and flat maned came sulking out into the berry wonderland. Her blue eyes were tired, as her tail dragged behind her in a pout while her colors appeared to be very washed out.

Suddenly Pinkie Pie's back straightened as her irises snapped to a darker color... a sharp red, as a gruff voice came forth. "Ha, jokes on you... I would totally screw me! I mean, come on I am awesome! Like thirty percent cooler then Dash Hole."

Pinkie Pie's head whipped to the side as her blue eyes came back into view with a wrinkled muzzle and a growling tone, "I am not going to beat some sense into my friends with the yovidaphone! I threw it away because I am terrible at it, and they hated hearing it! I am not playing it anymore!"

Lyra took a quick breath when the angry red eyes surfaced once more, with a stamp of her hoof.

"It was not THAT bad Pinkie Pie, your friends are just selfish and never give you the chance to be yourself without complaining. You love the yovidaphone right? So who cares if you play it, it might make birds explode... yeah, but so what? Play it a little more and your friends might just burst as well so good riddance!"

Pinkie Pie slapped her own self making the red eyes disappear as blue took over. "You deserved that Pinkamena. Quit being so violent! This is exactly why I don't like talking to you!"

The thick, throaty laughter that sounded nothing of Lyra's friend rumbled from her mouth. The taunting purr of the second mind deep within her soul spoke up with her red eyes flashing with mischief.

"I put the laughter back in....." Pinkie Pie stomped on her own hoof, causing the other voice to cry a high pitched yelp.

The sky blue eyes closed as Pinkie Pie bit her lip angrily, "Don't you say it Pinkamena!"

The body of Pinkie Pie buckled as if some pony had rammed into her ribcage. She fell onto the grass wrestling with another personality taking over her eyes once more.

"I was going to say our lives, hehe... honest truth!"

Pinkie Pie picked herself up, a hostile glare looking towards nothing as her cerulean eyes returned.

"After this, you are going to my dun... no that's boring.... my FUNgeon! Forever! Or until... I need advice about which cupcakes to eat when my friends cannot come over.... but that's a RARE occasion!"

Pinkie Pie's neck twisted, as her eyes bugged wildly like something was constricting her throat. Her eyes changed from blue to red on and off for a few minutes. Her body shook violently like something was clashing underneath her flesh! The mumbles and the spastic jerking of her muscles alarmed Lyra as she wondered if she should go out and help, but she was frozen by fascination as Pinkie Pie's body settled.

The gruff voice coughed, as Pinkie Pie's red eyes scanned the forest floor. "Ugh, Pinkie Pie can sure put up a fight! I have minutes of control, I have to get to Shadowbound!"

Pinkie Pie... or rather, some other pony lowered her head with a grumpy expression. She looked around herself sneakily before carefully tip-toeing out from the forest. Lyra was all too curious to let this one slip by since she has pretty much seen every strange thing happen where she lived... this was no different.

She stalked the mare using Pinkie Pie's body; slipping her head low as she trailed the cursing pony towards the deeper part of Everfree Forest.

When Pinkie Pie came out into a dusty and dirt covered opening, she sat down and stared into the distance before looking at her bland hooves. "Curse this stupid half mortal form! I don't have my magic to summon Shadowbound after putting him to sleep for eleven years! How am I going to get a message to him?"

Lyra's eyes gleamed proudly, as she leapt from the brush with a dazzling smile. Pinkie Pie nearly had a heart attack as she fell on her back, wheezing at the pony looking down excitedly at her.

"I knew it! You are a sorcerer! The red eyes, the bickering between two minds, talking of summoning things! Wow, I thought Ponyville was strange but this really is a whole other level!"

"Wait a minute, I was not THAT surprised!" Pinkamena interrupted, as Lyra patted her hoof sympathetically.

"Honey you were so surprised you couldn't speak for thirty minutes!" Lyra laughed, as Pinkamena grumbled resting her chin on the rugged stone as her friend continued, "Anyways as I was saying..."

Pinkie Pie's mouth was twisted in a silent scream, as her hoof rested on her thundering heart. She choked on her quivering breaths, beads of sweat forming on her forehead as surprised tears pricked her eyes. Lyra stood confidently over the poor frightened earth pony, before offering a solid hoof to help the frail and helpless victim up from the dirt, dusting her hideously dry colored pelt-

"Okay now you are just being a douche-" Pinkamena was stopped by Lyra's hoof.

"Nope that's what happened, now let me finish the story."

"Do you need help with something? I will always drop what I am doing to help a fellow pony in need! Something about summoning a creature? Perhaps a monster, curse, or oooo! Are we summoning a demon?" Lyra asked, watching as the red-eyed mare before her made a bewildered expression rather taken aback.

The straightened and glossy mane that blew in the chilly wind slapped against Pinkie Pie's lowered chin, her gaping mouth staying that way for quite some time. Lyra chuckled, lightly bringing up her hoof and closing the pony's mouth before patting her shoulder in a friendly way.

The alienated Pinkie Pie voice spoke hoarsely, "Y-You... aren't scared of me? I thought... I thought ponies were fearful of curses and.... summoning.... demons!"

Lyra wrapped Pinkie Pie's hoof in bright light before bringing it up to shake, "I should probably introduce myself. My name is Lyra, I assume you aren't Pinkie Pie and are not from this era are you?"

The mare whinnied, her mouth dropping open once more as Lyra once again closed it with a smile. "Wait a minute, how the heck did you FIGURE this out? Were you spying on us?"

Lyra levitated a berry before stuffing it in the mare's mouth once it dropped open again, "Hmm... well I was not stalking, just collecting these berries! They are good aren't they?" Lyra asked, as the fake Pinkie Pie nodded still looking very timid when staring at Lyra. "Yes well, I didn't need to spy on you to figure these things out. My roommate is a gosh darn agent, so I picked up a few things along the time I spent with her. You have red eyes, and in one of the books I read it was said that crimson colored eyes were a bad omen and passed down from gypsies before their generation was wiped out."

"Well no shame in admitting that much," the pony said trying to hide her strange eye color from Lyra who tipped her chin up.

"Hey! If it counts for anything, I think they look rather stunning on you! So what's your name time traveler?"

The mare giggled a bit in defeat, "I am not a time traveler, but I do have a name, and it is Pinkamena."

Lyra stuffed a hoof-full of berries in her mouth, "Oh I know you aren't a time traveler I just thought that would make you smile. What kind of magic were you talking about earlier? Voodoo magic? Don't worry I will not judge if you use forbidden magic, we all have.... secrets."

The minty mare winked playfully at Pinkamena before she responded. "it's not called voodoo magic, it's Black Magic, and I need it to summon my best friend from his slumber.... but I don't have it anymore."

Lyra looked at the lines etched in her new friend's face, which showed that she was disheartened. She pouted sourly, as Pinkamena avoided her gaze as if remembering something painful.

"How come? Didja lose your horn or somethin?"

Pinkamena shook her head, "No... just gave up my powers so one day I could save Equestria. It's a long story, and I do not have much time... I have to summon Shadowbound."

"Mmmm, yepo! I can help you with that! All we've gotta do is wiggle a little stick in the ground and draw up a summoning circle... shouldn't be too hard I just need a branch." Lyra said as Pinkamena once more became slack-jawed at how oblivious she was about summoning a phantom of the underworld. Lyra hummed as a crack was heard, and a large greenly branch was snapped off of a healthy tree and levitated in front of them both, "Ah this should do just fine!"

Pinkamena put her hooves up in protest, "Wait a minute... how do you know how to summon a demon? Only the ponies in my village were able to do such a thing... and that was thousands of years ago! Celestia hid everything that had to do with Black Magic long ago!"

Lyra blinked. "Oh well Bon Bon and I used to play games with our dorm mates in college! Every Nightmare Night we would pass around these boards meant to summon demons as a spooky game. We created summoning circles, but of course, they were fake since Celestia would never reveal a real working circle... but it was still fun anyways!"

"Then... how are you going to help me summon a demon if you don't know how to draw a summoning circle?" Pinkamena asked with a raised eyebrow.

Lyra blew a razzberry, "Duh... because you know how to draw one silly! You don't have magic, which I will provide free of charge! As long as you make it right, it should work with no problem-endos!"

"Right...." Pinkamena trailed off, as Lyra offered her the stick. The mare clenched it in her teeth before putting it to work. After a few minutes, her hard labor resulted in an enchantment with strange symbols; and a large star within the center. The newly befriended mage took a step back to admire her progress as she spoke, "This is Shadowbound's circle... I mean I think, it has been a while since I have used it."

"Alrighty tighty, let the master of picking berries do her thang!" Lyra giggled, as she wiggled her rump and provided light with her horn. "Just have to hit it with a little bit of magic to activate it, at least that's what I read in Bon Bon's adventure journal.... don't tell her I said that."

Pinkamena nodded, "As long as the circle is drawn correctly any magic will do."

Lyra caused a spew of magic to burst from her horn and hit the circle, as soon as it made contact the lines became alive with flaming brimstone. The wind swirled around the mares, but Lyra leaned in as she watched the dirt cave into a cavern underneath the brimstone sketches. She awed as she glanced below her, as something black came out of the ground with large wings stretching out and gleaming fangs.

The summoning circle vanished leaving nothing but a burnt pile of ash, as a sleepy demon rubbed his head.

"Wha…. what eon is it?" Shadowbound asked, yawning tiredly.

"Hey look, Pinkamena we summoned something! How cool is that?" Lyra squealed, her high pitched voice ringing the throbbing skull of the awakened demon.

"Shhh, please not so loud... I think I have a migraine because of SOME pony making me sleep instead of letting me follow her around for assistance!"

Pinkamena sighed, "look Shadowbound there isn't enough time for me to catch you up, but I need you to do something for me."

Lyra was staring at the ground, tracing her hoof in the sandy dirt with a far off look. Pinkamena nudged her making the mare rear in surprise until she noticed Bon Bon was leaning in so far she was about to fall on her chin! Lyra blushed, before rubbing the back of her head sheepishly and shrugging.

"Well....?" Bon Bon asked, as Lyra gave her a confused look.

"Oh, that's it, end of story."

Pinkamena rolled her eyes, "Basically I told Shadowbound to attack Pinkie Pie's friends so I could fully take over her body and gain my magic back. Then Lyra wouldn't leave me alone, so Shadowbound used his magic to let her tap into my memories... ever since then she feels like she is my bestie."

Lyra dabbed her eyes with a leaf, "It was such an emotional journey... I feel so close to you now!"

Bon Bon came close to her friend vigorously shaking her as if she were trying to get candy out of a piñata! "Lyra, what did you see... you saw this mare and her horrible crimes right? You aren't actually on her side are you?"

Lyra patted her roommates head, "That's where you are all wrong! Pinkamena isn't lying.... she is telling the truth! Celestia is a huge meanie pants, like that colt that braided your mane to your chair in science class!"

"You've been brainwashed, Pinkamena quit messing with my best friend's head or I will-"

Lyra flicked Bon Bon's muzzle, "I am not brainwashed! Just to prove it to you... I will repeat something no pony knows." Her friend gave her a cautious look, almost fearful at what she was going to say... before Lyra continued. "In college specifically behind the gym at three in the afternoon on Tuesday, you and Carmel-"

Bon Bon's muzzle turned a nasty shade of red, before she put a hoof over the mouth of her best friend's blabbering self. "Shhh, okay OKAY you are really Lyra!"

Pinkamena's torn ear flattened, as she choked back a rising laugh.

Suddenly a shadow appeared, melting into the shape of a pony-like creature as Pinkamena perked up. Wings spread, along with white fangs and white eyes as the creature transformed into a demon. Shadowbound's ears shot up in both surprise and glee when he saw Lyra, who he immediately tackled in a hug.

"Lyra! It has been so long!" Shadowbound said, as his wings wrapped her delicately in an embrace.

She giggled when his fur tickled her tummy, "I know! I missed you living with us!"

"Umm.. excuse me? When?" Bon Bon asked.

"Oh pffft! You kept a secret about being an agent for like... our entire friendship! So I happened to have a little secret of my own and kept Shadowbound in our house for Pinkamena while she waited for her time to come... duh!" Lyra said casually, as she stroked the demon's fluffy head.

Bon Bon was flabbergasted, her eyebrows knitted in confusion as her face drooped into a defeated scowl. It was okay to have secrets, but this was just dumbfounding! Her best friend was friends with some forbidden magic mage, that has a sole purpose of spilling the blood of their princess! Shadowbound seemed content as Lyra continued to stroke the fluff behind his ears, as his head nuzzled into her chest affectionately.

"Bon Bon, you need to tell Pinkamena what you know.. quit being a stick in the mud!" Lyra scolded while picking up a flimsy twig and tossing it near her friend's hooves.

Pinkamena was still radiating that peaceful aura, which drove Bon Bon to the brink of insanity as her annoyed gaze rested squarely into Pinkamena's deep cherry eyes.

"Fine... I trust Lyra not you Pinkamena. Because of our friendship, I am willing to help you to a certain extent. I will not be aiding you during whatever it is you have planned, but I will give you information."

Her voice was rough and jagged like shattered glass, threatening to cut the mare with the scars to pieces. Pinkamena seemed without alarm as she shifted her hooves to where they crossed over each other. Her bamboo flute suddenly came forth twisting around in mid-air slowly and calmly as her gently magic brought it over to Bon Bon. She refused to even glance at her friend.

Pinkamena spoke with a hopeful and sugary tone, "thank you. I appreciate you giving me a chance to save this world, I want you to have this." She nudged Bon Bon's cheek with the bamboo flute, which she hastily took in her hooves before continuing, "It is enchanted, meant to heal wounds that are deep whether they are mental or physical. It helped me through some hard times, I hope it can do the same for you."

Lyra's roommate looked a bit flattered but hid her expression within seconds of noticing it.

The pony with the white highlights gave her a prodding passive aggressive smile while flicking her ears towards the awaiting mare on her throne of stones. She remained patient once more, eagerly allowing her eyes to fall upon Bon Bon who still seemed corrupted by Pinkamena's tainted reputation.

"Look Pinkamena, Celestia knows you have Tirek, Cozy, Sombra, and Chrysalis. She fears you will be a threat and has figured out you will be trying to kill the Tree. She is planning on overpowering you with numbers and has sent letters to the allying kingdoms. You seven will be facing yaks, dragons, all ponies, the Pillars, the Elements of Harmony and griffons and more I hope you are ready. This war will be the biggest in history, with thousands of enemies you will need to defeat."

Pinkamena's heart froze, almost forcing her breaths to leak out as if she were hit in the stomach. Celestia was not going easy this time, and neither could Pinkamena. She would have to not hold back at all, in order to defeat hundreds of waves of enemies charging forth.

Bon Bon's eyes turned to a shade of sympathy, "Pinkamena you say you aren't going to kill any ponies... but I don't know how you will be able to fight and win without doing so. If Celestia is truly who you say she is, you better think up of a plan and fast... she is coming, tracking you down, and she will defeat you if you don't act fast enough."

Pinkamena's breaths became sharp, as her eyes widened to the size of plates. Her dull coat was growing damp from nervous sweats as her scars became riddled with imaginary pain. She moved her hooves under her stomach, hiding her emotions with a blanket of false misdirection... because she had to stay strong! For every creature who had come this far with her! Especially knowing Shadowbound was a delicate demon and knowing if she was breaking down, he wouldn't be too far behind after hearing the news.

She felt his eyes sweeping her toughened body, as her throat swallowed down the glob of anxiety lodged in her esophagus. She straightened her trembling spine, forcing it to bend upwards to carry her slouching head in a regal manner. She forced the demanding second thoughts to vanish from her mind. Her partner looked proud of her, seeing her pretend to not be bothered by facing thousands of warriors from different races. He would never know her act was forced and she was bound to keep it that way.

"Thank you, Bon Bon… I did not know that Celestia was planning on overpowering me with creatures of different kingdoms. This does indeed change many things about my plan if you excuse me."

Shadowbound seemed confused and curious as to why Pinkamena was bowing her head respectfully towards her newly allied agent. Lyra was concerned, as she carefully brought her hoof up to grasp Pinkamena's wings and hopefully get her to stop moving. Her wings grazed her friend's hoof, as she leapt off the stone and departed from the group who watched her disappear with alarmed comments behind her.

Pinkamena's body vanished in a puff of green light. Her body then melted into the background of a warm wooden structure while making her hooves stand solidly on a bluish tinted tile. Her wings folded back, as the scent of freshly prepared treats filled her nostrils with their sugary aroma. Her hooves scuffed the flooring, as the familiar gingerbread materials took over her senses as her mind brought her back to the calming home she always knew.

Sensing no pony within the walls of Sugarcube Corner, she trailed to the door and bolted the entrance with the locks before staring at the dark magenta door in silence. She sat alone in the darkness, as her long tail wrapped around her settled hooves before her mouth split into a painful cringe. Her wings drooped, as the shoulder of her obsidian wings thumped lightly on the limestone tile beneath her.

She brought herself here to be alone, to mourn over what could be. She wouldn't have any time later to do so, and she didn't have any guarantee that her friends would survive this battle. Or... if she would survive.

She had no issue giving her life to protect another's, but still that creepy feeling of knowing she could pass to the next life this day was still heavy on her. Her body was quaking from head to hoof, as her lungs gasped for air.... everything was closing in, and her heart was beating so fiercely she felt it drum in her head! The unsteady rhythm of her rising anxiety made her flinch! Every second her stomach dropped like she was falling towards her death, as she pressed her hooves harshly into her temples.

She fearfully clenched her eyes closed, as whines and terrified grunts came from her mouth. She was petrified of just thinking of this war, forcing her to swallow the urge to throw up. She lost last time, hardly even surviving enough to live under the surface of the earth as an outcast. She was mortified of facing Celestia again, even though she made it seem like it didn't bother her at all.... but now it was here, hours away... and she couldn't stop the break down now even if she tried! She knew it was coming, she knew it was time, but it was different now that she had no more time to fool around!

She wailed, as thoughts ran rampant in her unstable brain.

They will die, all of the ones you care for... their blood like rivers under the hooves of your enemies!

You will never see Pinkie Pie again, you will fail!

Your power cannot save them, it never was enough... you aren't enough!

Pinkamena screamed, her hooves causing blood to leak out from the keratin digging into her flesh. She felt nauseated, as her hooves quickly brought themselves from her aching head and threw themselves around a metal trash bin. She heaved, as her stomach wrenched along with spilling tears splashing on the rim of the trash can. She messily vomited into the object pressed against her chest, as painful creeks of warm tears poured from her glossy eyes. Her heavy panting didn't help the situation as she emptied her stomach once more, her ears flattening against her wet mane as she wept while drenching her muzzle with her sobs.

She was so scared, while she weakly pushed the trash can away from her. She just wanted the taunting voices to stop, she wanted everything to stop... she didn't want to fight... she didn't want to! Her hooves wrapped themselves around her hind legs, as she cuddled herself on the floor comforting herself with the only touch available. Her wings clamped to her sides, as she bit her lip so hard she was afraid it would never heal. She wiped her snotty nose with the back of her hoof, as she allowed herself to crumble under the pressure of throwing herself into a war she might not win.

She felt her constricted chest squeeze tighter, as her lungs caught her breath in the back of her throat. She couldn't register anything around her, as her senses became overwhelmed by emotion. She closed her eyes, hoping to shut out any sounds or any danger and succumb to the realm of darkness. Her most vulnerable side made it so any pony could strike at her with no threat at all to themselves, but she didn't care... she was just so paralyzed with fear!

She felt something fluffy and warm spread over her shaking body, as her eyes opened to view her tremoring hooves rubbing against the flooring but a white blanket spread over them. Her tear-filled eyes made her vision blurry, as she lifted her head expecting to see Celestia here to finish her off! She instead saw an eyeful of a dark raspberry swirled mane leaning over her. When her eyes adjusted, she saw a sweet mare with a warm smile snuggle her in the comforting embrace of the blanket she brought.

The brilliant rose-colored eyes that brought forward so much love peered at her. Her bright robin egg colored coat laid next to her, patting her back affectionately.

Pinkamena hiccupped, unable to spit out the words forming in her mind as Mrs. Cake stroked the top of her head while hushing her gently.

"It's okay dear, get it all out. I know you have been through some harsh times." Her voice was breezy and hopeful, as she gently pushed a pillow under Pinkamena's raised head.

Pinkamena accepted the pillow, before burying her face within its soft features. She didn't know how long she sat there and cried, or how long Mrs. Cake sat there unmoving caressing the back of her head with her hoof... but it was a while. She hadn't even noticed Mr. Cake patting her wings lovingly, as their offspring huddled against Pinkamena's side trying desperately to cheer her up by throwing flour on themselves.

Once she could breathe properly, she had a moment realizing she just exposed herself!

Before she could shoot up and flee, Mrs. Cake pressed her hoof against Pinkamena's back softly making her stay put before speaking, "We've always known Dearie... ever since we took in Pinkie Pie, we've been hearing her speak to another. The conversations you two had, were very often... and you were a mischievous pony, but we always knew you had good intentions for Pinkie deep within your heart."

Mr. Cake handed Pinkamena some fresh milk, which she immediately took to soothe her raspy and irritated throat by gulping it down. The babies tugged at her mane, giving her that toothless smile of theirs as Pumpkin Cake clapped her hooves before offering Pinkamena a glass of milk that she levitated with her horn. The recovering mare couldn't help but give a slight smile, before drinking the liquid to once more replenish her water supply.

The stallion that happened to be a terrific baker was sitting down next to Pinkamena's head as he fluffed her pillow and spoke up, "We knew one day Pinkie Pie wouldn't be the one in control... and we heard you talking with Gummy upstairs about how heartbroken you were over Pinkie. Then we heard you speaking about how you would have to save everypony in Equestria by taking down Celestia... my wife and I thought you were very brave."

Ms. Cake grinned in approval, as Pinkamena's shakes started to cease.

"Knowing you were risking your neck to save families like ours, it made us realize how special we were for having Pinkie Pie live in our home with a hero like you by her side." She said as the babies threw themselves around Pinkamena's neck nuzzling their noses into her throat.

"B-But... I... I am a monster. I... I hurt Pinkie Pie... I... I lied to you... I am so sorry, I am so sorry...." Pinkamena choked, as a fresh stream of tears flowed from her eyes while Pound Cake fluttered his tongue with a laugh before wiping her eyes with his fluffy wings. She continued, "I... I came here hoping to set things straight... because I might... I might.."

Mr. Cake shook his head and told her off with a firm voice, "You did not hurt Pinkie Pie she just doesn't understand and did not have the time to listen to your reasons like we did. Even though the walls are paper thin, and we could hear everything you said... before that, we still believed in you."

The mother of the adorable babies ran her hooves through Pinkamena's tail like a soothing mother would do to any child of hers, "You never lied to us. You were protecting your identity so that we would be safe, so that all of us would be safe, from Celestia. We are forever in your debt Pinkamena, and don't go around saying you might die... because if anything Dearie we would bet the entire residence of Sugarcube Corner that you will win hooves down."

Mr. Cake wrapped his forelimb around Pinkamena's soggy neck, as she threw her head into his chest and allowed herself to spill out everything she was feeling. "I am so sorry! I don't know why you would forgive me for being so cruel and hiding... th-thank you for taking such good care of us.... all... this time."

"Ga loth," Pumpkin Cake said as she squealed with happiness when Pinkamena finally gave her attention by weakly rubbing her head.

She snuggled close to the Cakes, as their scent calmed her in a way. They continued to stroke her, soothing all the worries and the fears she had as she securely locked the time she shared with them into the depths of her heart. They would get Pinkie Pie back, and she would protect them and their family even if it kills her.

"Thank.... you." She repeated again, as Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake cheered happily. Their manes were still dusted with flour before one of them sneezed.

"Anytime you want to speak with us, or just get something off your chest we are here... you are welcome to stay within our home as long as you need or want to." Mrs. Cake said sincerely, as she brushed Pinkamena's mane from her swollen eyes and tipped up her chin.

Pinkamena sniffed before her scratchy voice replied. "I will protect your family and everypony within Equestria. You have my Pinkie Promise on that."

Pinkamena crossed her chest, before sticking her hoof on her eye as Mrs. Cake hugged her lovingly. "Thank you Dearie, I wouldn't want any other pony protecting us."

The mare with the tear-stained face smiled gleefully even though her eyes were red and raw from crying. Her head rested on the mother's shoulder, as Pound Cake sucked on the tip of her wing playfully. Pumpkin Cake raised her tail to where it rested on her head, as she cuddled within the fibers of silky hairs making it up.

Pinkamena departed from the hug, before carefully lifting the blanket off of her and handing it to Mr. Cake.

"You better get going Dearie, Canterlot has already been evacuated, and Ponyville is covered with all sorts of creatures gearing up for the war! Prince Rutherford has his yaks all over the town, making all of us stay indoors and Dragon Lord Ember has dragons patrolling Everfree Forest you need to be careful!"

Mrs. Cake's warning sent a shiver down her spine, but she remained confident all because of the kindness Pinkie Pie's bosses gave her. She nodded and prepared to depart after giving the Cakes one big hug, and then kissing both the babies on the forehead and wrapping them tightly in her protective wings. Pumpkin Cake kissed the tattered chest of Pinkamena's war scars, which almost made her choke up!

Pinkamena walked out of Sugarcube corner disguised as Pinkie Pie, before taking a deep breath of the fresh air.

It was time... for war.

She suddenly felt a strong arm squeeze her side, as her body was lifted from the ground and inspected by being held in place by both an eagle claw and a lion paw. She looked into the chaotic eyes of a draconequus that happened to be "reformed," to a certain amount. Discord's yellow eyes exposed her body, as his long snake-like form held her several feet from the ground before speaking.

"Well, YOU aren't the mare I was searching for, just plain old Pinkie Pie." He said, before snapping his fingers and with a poof Pinkamena was back on the ground, staring at Discord who now wore a steel knight costume. He flipped up the visor covering his face and spoke, "You shouldn't be out when there is such a dangerous creature lurking about. I will be the first to catch this pony named Soul Seeker and save Fluttershy from the clutches of death like a TRUE friend, unlike YOU ponies."

"Wow there sure are a lot of creatures protecting this town," Pinkamena said as she glanced up at Discord cockily rubbing his beard. "We must be super duper safe now that you are around Discord!"

"Ehh yes I suppose, with me around you ponies were never in immediate danger. I think it is rather odd Celestia felt the need to summon dragons, since... well I am me! I can do anything!" Discord wrapped his head around Pinkamena before his eyes slithered out of his eye sockets like serpents, "Say... something is different about you Pinkie Pie you seem to have some strange essence!"

"Hahaha, that tickles Discord! Paws off!" Pinkamena giggled, as Discord shot up and shrugged.

"Your wish is my command my little pony!" Discord said, as his lion paw popped straight off of his wrist. Pinkamena shook her head and smiled, he doesn't remember her, but she remembered him.

He was the same chaotic spirit she had met such a long time ago, but now was not the time to remember it. His lion paw was dancing around her hooves before he picked it up and reattached it with a grin.

He cocked his head before levitating on his stomach, "Say Pinkie Pie... what kind of magic is stirring within you? I can sense it." He poked her stomach causing a burst of fireworks to shoot up into the sky. "Oooh look at that, so much magic it can light my fireworks!"

His deep laughter was loud and obnoxious, as his tail flicked around before bending down and slinging an arm around Pinkamena's shoulders.

"I don't know what you mean by magic, I am an earth pony doofus!" Pinkamena giggled with a snort, as Discord pouted by rolling his head around meant to playfully mock her.

His neck twisted while his un-natural powers rotated his head upside down, "Oh no need for such name-calling Pinkie Pie, I am just simply making an observation." His head snapped back to its regular position, as he walked over behind the disguised mare as he giggled. "No need to get your tail in a knot, I was only trying to be a good friend by telling you when something was off."

Discord tried to pluck Pinkie Pie's tail off and tie it into a knot with his chaotic power, but when he tugged at it the hair didn't move!

"Well that's odd," Discord said as he tried tugging the tail off once more. Pinkamena held her tail away from the prying claws of Discord as he continued to squint at her suspiciously. "This is strange usually my magic works on you."

Pinkamena's muzzle wrinkled in fear, as she stepped away from Discord before he could try anything else.

"Guess you are losing your touch," She teased.

Discord looked upset when she tried to walk away, as her muzzle pressed into his while his eyes flickered with disdain. "My touch never fails... is there something you would like to explain?"

His overexaggerated tone matched his temper tantrum as he floated in front of her crossing his arms like an upset child. Pinkamena touched his horn, before poking him in the nose making him even more upset as she walked around him. "Nope unless you want to know about recipes and who's birthday is coming up.... which by the way isn't it yours today?"

Discord's eyes suddenly lit up, as he walked next to Pinkie Pie completely forgetting about his suspicions.

"Somepony remembered! I was quite offended when Twilight didn't throw me a surprise birthday bash when I came to Ponyville, they were all too busy preparing for this.. war thing." The draconequus waved his claw annoyingly before continuing his ramble as they walked side by side. "You must have planned a whole surprise party right? That's what you do.... so I assumed of all ponies you would have something planned for me."

"Sure Discord, but it's a surprise... so you will not have a party until all this war stuff is cleared up okie dokie loki? Pinkamena responded as Discord muttered while flattening his ears.

"Alright... fine... I better get this mess cleaned up, since it's me on duty it will not take long! Adiós my fair Pinkie Pie I am off to save Equestria!"

Discord suddenly appeared very small, as his body was lifted up by appearing balloons that drifted him off into the sky. Pinkamena breathed in relief, before a giant wing wrapped around her ribcage, ugh not again.

The dark feathers of a familiar Alicorn wrapped around her side as Luna gave her a nervous smile, "Has thou prepared themselves for the final battle?"

Pinkamena hugged Luna happily before calming her shaking body, "Aye don't be nervous Luna... we've got this."

Luna gave her a petrified smile, her toothy grin clattering as her teeth chattered, and her knees wobbled. She suddenly grabbed Pinkamena's hoof and dragged her into an alleyway when a few yaks came stomping through searching for any pony who might be wandering about.

"I am freaking OUT Pinkamena, FREAKING out... I am going to die, we are all going to die... HAAA!" Luna said as she took a giant gulp of air, placing a hoof on her heaving chest.

Pinkamena hugged the trembling Alicorn, as her wings ruffled from her stressed out feathers that she puffed out. The poor princess was going through what Pinkamena just went through, knowing she would have to betray her sister and fight against her.

"She's going to send me to the moon! I cannot go back there, I....I.." Luna was stopped by a hoof as Pinkamena stroked her spine to soothe her.

"I will protect you and the rest of Equestria with my life, and I am sure our friends will do the same. You have nothing to worry about, I won't let anything happen to you." her voice spoke the truth, as Luna buried her nose in Pinkamena's warm and disguised fur.

"Thank you Soul Seeker, I... I think I am okay now... we... need your assistance if you are willing." Luna said as she departed from Pinkamena with a large and relieved smile.

Pinkamena nodded as Luna took a deep breath and lit her blue horn to where her relaxing magic wrapped around them both gently. As she spread her large wings, the magic zapped them towards an unknown destination before their eyes adjusted to some strange place. The walls reshaped and opened with living holes, as crystals hung from the ceiling and illuminated the castle-like fortress.

The disguised mare let go of her illusion, as she looked back towards Luna with a curious expression. "Hey, Luna, where exactly are we?"

Luna pointed to a carved out stone table, "This is our headquarters apparently. Chrysalis spent two days building a space for us to meet in her newly formed Changeling hive. Her old one is being used by Thorax, so she built one and was kind enough to let all of us hideout here."

Pinkamena looked at Tirek who was sitting on a large crystal throne, with his forehooves propped up on the rocky table in an awkward position. He was taking a nap, as Cozy Glow wiggled one of her feathers in one of his nostrils while she flew over his head with a mischievous smirk. Chrysalis was wearing a maid outfit as she dusted the thrones surrounding the table like the Cutie Map in Twilight's castle, as Sombra drank some coffee being levitated by his horn.

"Don't spill that coffee Sombra! I just cleaned your throne an hour ago!" Chrysalis hissed as her floating duster slapped the back of the king's head angrily.

The gentle stallion mumbled grumpily but refused to talk back, as Chrysalis continued to clean.

Pinkamena was shocked at how detailed the thrones were, you could tell who's was who's very clearly. Chrysalis had spent a long time chiseling out the quartz thrones that surrounded the table, and it warmed her heart. Luna's was made of tough obsidian, with sparkling lavender colored crystals lodged in the stone. The changeling queen had cut out a moon symbol in the back with wool-cushioned headrests and forelimb rests.

Tirek's had a living bottled flame that flickered above his chair, captured in a clear crystal that gleamed from its light. The snoring centaur seemed very comfortable, with his throne that looked to be made of cracked stone with lava etches ensnared in the rock. Two curved dragon-like horns sprouted from either side of his seat, as his propped up arm rested on the sides of the throne.

Shadowbound's was red and black glowing crystals, but she assumed Chrysalis was not very excited about his and just left it at that. Cozy Glow's throne was just as big as the rest of theirs, proving that even though her age was different from theirs she was still a solid member of their group. Her chair was made of giant purified feathers, covering every inch of her throne with golden crystals underneath them. It made Pinkamena just drowsy by looking at it, and it appeared to be so soft one could nap for centuries in it! A large feathered pillow attached to the throne was meant to prop up Cozy to where she could look at the table like all the others, and it was extremely cute Chrysalis thought of that.

Sombra's throne was creatively made of dulled swords, recognizing his talent as a warrior. The entire chair gleamed with shiny metallic axes, swords, and spears that must have taken a long time to take... or steal. He had red crystals underneath matching his crimson horn, with a royal red backrest made of silky and soft linen.

Pinkamena assumed the next throne was hers, but it looked sort of bland. Chrysalis must have been exhausted from making so many thrones so she must have retired from her work after carving Pinkamena's. It was just a plain old rocky chair, nothing special about it... but she was included and so she still felt special.

The one in the center, facing every other throne was massive! It even sealed itself within the ceiling, as pillars stood next to it with wild living flames on the top. She was awestruck as a banner hung over the throne itself, and on the back of the chair while carved statues stood tall on the elbow of the forelimb rests. The figures were of a bowing Celestia, with a sword in her back that must have taken ages to hoof-sculpt. The ruby red crystals that looked to have living lightning bugs inside them sparkled almost as bright as the sun. Pinkamena was breathless, as the large crystals stuck out almost so far they would touch other thrones!

Pinkamena laughed, this was definitely Chrysalis's throne... only she would go so far to make herself look so important. The changeling spotted Pinkamena, as she watched her sit herself down without a complaint onto the plain throne before the queen hissed.

"What are you doing?" She screeched, making Tirek jump awake from her loud voice.

"I am just sitting down... my God calm down!" Pinkamena responded throwing her hooves up in the air defensively as Chrysalis shoved her off.

Before Pinkamena hit the floor, her body was wrapped in the changeling's magic and levitated over to the big throne before being let go. Her rump hit the softest material she had ever felt, as her body remained sprawled in surprise as her friends smiled respectfully at her.

"A queen never sits on any other throne then her own, basic rules Pinkamena." Chrysalis said with a layer of such smooth kindness it made her shiver. Chrysalis then sat on her own plain throne, with a content smile as she rested her forelimbs onto the table with a wink towards her best friend.

"But... Chrysalis your throne... why didn't you decorate it?" Pinkamena asked as the group looked towards the changeling who lowered her gaze in embarrassment.

"Well, I was so busy trying to think of creative ways to make your thrones... I sort of didn't have time to make mine, but its okay you all being happy makes me happy." Chrysalis said with an affectionate blush, as Cozy Glow snuggled her thin mane in thanks.

"You are one heck of an architect, making this hive for just us seven and even went as far as to make us thrones... you are something Chrysalis!" Tirek said with a casual thumbs up.

Chrysalis giggled as she squirmed in her seat, but the mood was killed when every creature remembered what they were here for. Pinkamena sat up straight, as Tirek grabbed something sitting by his throne before placing the Crown of Grover onto the table without a sound. The silence was nerving when they realized that it was time, as Shadowbound appeared in a puff of shadows beside Pinkamena.

Luna swallowed harshly, before placing her artifact on the table next to Tirek's where her throne was located. Now there were two counting Clover the Clever's Cloak, as Cozy Glow struggled to place hers next to Tirek's as well. The Talisman of Mirage gleamed brightly when placed next to its brothers, as Sombra dropped the crystal bound object he had stolen easily on the table too. Now his artifact The Helm of Yksler rested along with the others, as a chain of magic linked them together awaiting the last two.

She heard arguing from behind her, as Limestone and her sisters emerged from the hallway carrying something on their backs as they approached the table.

"Did you know that Knuckerbocker's Shell and The Amulet of Aurora were guarded by a hydra? I tried to cut off its heads but apparently, they GROW back? Why didn't you idiots tell me that!" Limestone barked, before throwing the hardened shell on the table and grumbling angrily.

"How did you manage to slay a hydra exactly? Also, why didn't you take me with you? Are you thick?" Tirek scolded, as Limestone stuck her tongue at the centaur.

"I crushed all its heads with a boulder," Maud responded with no emotion, as the group silenced themselves at how violent that seemed.

"She... dropped a giant rock on the hydra and kinda... squished it." Marble said, rubbing her head awkwardly as Maud nodded her head in agreement.

"Moving on..." Cozy Glow said as she sat perched on her comfortable pillow.

Maud gently placed the last artifact on the table, and as soon as the chain of light was completed a giant enchantment started to glow above them. Their manes were blown back, as the wind sucked everything towards the center while Cozy Glow swallowed nervously.

"This should drain all magic, but if we are fighting against dragons now... I am not so convinced that we can win with Tirek's brute strength." Cozy Glow said, motioning to the centaur who snorted.

"Not to mention my old pal Discord is tagging along, we might need a way to save our magic."

Pinkamena hummed while she thought, "I can perform a Black Magic Sacrament, but it might sting a little."

"We do not mind Pinkamena, we are going into battle in a few hours after all... we might get a little hurt along the way," Luna responded, appearing next to her friend and nuzzling her chin with hope.

"Alright... Limestone give me your knife." Pinkamena said sharply, as her sister's eyes darted around.

"Wha… What? I don't have a knife, what do you think I am a psychopath? How dare you accuse me of such a thing, this is ridiculous!" Limestone said with a sharp tongue almost able to slice through the rising laughter in the room.

"Give her the knife Limestone, now isn't the time! She already knows that you carry one around in your bag!" Marble said through clenched teeth, as she bumped aggressively into her sister which was completely out of character.

Maud dug through her sister's private things, before holding a knife in her mouth and bringing it over to the group's leader. Pinkamena silently thanked her cautious sister, as the bladed weapon was placed in her magic-lit hoof while the group held their breath.

"Black Magic always comes at a cost, but luckily this spell will only need a bit of blood." Pinkamena said as the knife was brought against her wrist when she made a leaking slit. She flinched once the blade made contact, before forcing her magic back so it would not heal the wound right away.

The group got the gist of what needed to happen, as the knife was magically passed to Chrysalis who's throne was next to Pinkamena's. Her horn lit up before she brought the blade across her chitin which didn't have any effect at all. She sighed, before slamming her hoof down on the stone table violently making the whole group gasp as her hoof started to crack. Cozy Glow hid her eyes, even though it was not as gruesome to Chrysalis as it was to every other creature.

Soon her hoof was throbbing as her eyes twitched from the pain, but she managed to swallow the urge to yelp. The knife was then passed on to Luna who made a slit under her hoof as well before Tirek grabbed the floating object. He quickly made an incision, then Sombra and then Cozy Glow who closed her eyes the whole time. Shadowbound was next, as he flinched every time the blade touched his fur.

This went on for ten minutes, as he squealed like a filly getting a shot every time the blade was brought closer to him.

"Dear God, just hurry up you big baby! Did you even see what I had to do over here?" Chrysalis yelled, her loud voice made Shadowbound jump as the blade sliced him unintentionally.

He had tears in his eyes, as Luna rolled her own before the knife came back to Pinkamena. Her green magic seeped into the artifacts as her spell focused on controlling the forces sucking up every ounce of magic in Equestria.

"On my mark," Pinkamena said as she extended her hoof along with the others. They seemed nervous, as they glanced around hoping to find relief in the eyes of each other as Pinkamena whispered gently, "Now!"

The group released a single drop of blood before the droplets were summoned to the center and being sucked into a vortex of Black Magic. The magic that connected the artifacts turned a nasty color of maroon before shaking the entire hive from vast waves of power.

A beam of energy shot up into the ceiling, tearing through the material making it as if it were a wet paper towel. The sun could be seen up ahead, as storm clouds were summoned from the artifacts draining every ounce of magic left in this world. Shadowbound sniffed the air, as his wings popped up in alarm.

"Guys, guys... some creatures they are here!" Shadowbound shouted in alarm, as his wings carried him up to the top of the hive to be a lookout.

"We better think of a war strategy and fast," Luna squeaked.

"They will have no magic within two hours," Pinkamena said as her mane fell over her face to avoid the group from staring at her fearful eyes. "We just have to keep them entertained long enough until the biggest threat aka. Celestia has no more powers, I can take care of the rest."

"You better hurry and get back to Ponyville then, and don't blow your cover until everything is taken care of." Cozy Glow said, as she tended to the magical circle.

"Yes, we will need some time to prepare.. and you will need to disguise yourself as Pinkie Pie and listen to their battle plan... it will help us have the upper hoof." Luna said with a strong tone.

"We will take care of everything here," Limestone confirmed. Pinkamena didn't have time to respond, as her friends suddenly threw themselves in a big hug nearly crushing her. Tirek picked the entire group up, as Cozy Glow was unfortunately smashed against his bicep during the spine breaking embrace.

When he let them go, Maud stopped Pinkamena before she could say what she wanted to say.

Thankful tears were in Pinkamena's eyes as Maud gave her a slight smile, "We know that you are thankful but we can hear your inspiring speech after the war... there is no time, your friends are already looking for Pinkie Pie."

"I know... but.." Pinkamena was stopped by Limestone's quick hug.

"Just go you sappy moron, and know we are with you until the end!"

Pinkamena nodded quickly, before leaping up into the air with her wings and departing from the group. They all looked anxious but they gave her a secure look of hope, as she dashed off towards the top of the hive. The top of Chrysalis's home was huge, with towers forming lookouts and a rugged roof to match. The breeze gently blew through her mane was her heart hammered within the safety of her ribcage. This was it...

She could see with her heightened senses several of Celestia's lookouts weaving in and out of the trees, as they scrambled back to report their findings. Griffons... dragons... several of them, but knowing Chrysalis, she probably protected the hive with some sort of magical enchantment like the throne she had that repelled outside magic.

Before Pinkamena could teleport herself away, she felt something small hug her leg. Her focus was ripped away from her own thoughts as Cozy Glow hung onto her leg for dear life.

She brought her head down to look at the little filly who clutched her leg so fiercely, "Please... please l-let me go with you! I..... I will protect you from everypony... please don't... don't leave me... I am scared!"

Pinkamena carefully moved her leg from the filly's grasp, before pulling her into a gentle hug. Cozy Glow's cheeks were glistening with stray tears, as she clung onto her friend's chest with everything she had. Pinkamena stretched her wings, providing a barrier from the cool fall wind as the little filly started to cry uncontrollably within her forelimbs. A knot formed in Pinkamena's throat seeing Cozy Glow so upset like she had been over the upcoming war.

"Cozy Glow you have to stay here, stay with Marble she will protect you while I am gone. I promise I won't let any creature lay a hoof on you... you have my word." Pinkamena said, as she gently stroked the bouncing locks of Cozy's mane while the filly drenched her coat with slick tears.

"But... But who will protect you? I am scared..... that you won't come back to me!"

She was scared for... her? But why?

"Cozy Glow.... of course I will come back! Didn't mean to make you worry, kid!" Pinkamena said cheerfully as the filly brought her face out from being pressed against Pinkamena's fur.

Pinkamena used a gentle hoof to wipe away Cozy's tears, before bopping her playfully on the nose making the filly giggle for a moment.

Her new grin was quickly overshadowed by fear once more, as her moderate scarlet eyes looked deep within Pinkamena's bright rubies that made up the windows to her soul.

"What if you d... don't... I will have no pony... and I can't lose you... I-I can't... I..." Cozy Glow's eyes watered up again, as Pinkamena's eyes fell into a sympathetic look with a twinge of despair.

"What do you mean you won't have no pony? Don't you have..." Her voice trailed off when she thought of the filly's parents. She had never even heard of them, or seen them... or has even heard Cozy Glow talk about them!

"Parents.... sisters... a family? No... I don't." Cozy Glow said with a hiccup, as she hugged Pinkamena's protective chest once more listening to her gentle heartbeat.

"I... am sorry, I didn't realize," Pinkamena said with a crack in her voice. They were both without families, without any pony to look after them... she had Shadowbound, but this poor filly had no pony at all! Her chin rested on the orphan's head as they both found comfort within each other's touch, while she let the Pegasus cry out all her worries.

Cozy Glow sniffed fiddling with Pinkamena's fallen mane, "I know... most ponies don't. I-I just.... hoped perhaps I could have a family again, with some pony to take care of me.... then you c-came along, and were so gentle and nice to me... I just thought that maybe..." the filly stopped. She seemed embarrassed, as she hid her blushing face within Pinkamena's chest as the mare's heartbeat picked up. "Never mind… it was a stupid thought."

Before Cozy Glow could cower from shame, Pinkamena grabbed her cheeks with her hooves before looking at her lovingly. "No, it was not a stupid thought Cozy Glow, don't ever think that!" Pinkamena glanced to the side, before gathering enough courage herself to speak of her own family, "My family was slaughtered right in front of me... and ever since then, I have always wanted to build one made up of ponies who loved me for me. I was never super close to my parents, but they were still a part of me ya know?"

Cozy Glow nodded, as Pinkamena continued to wipe the tears dripping from the filly's chin.

Pinkamena inhaled through her nose before continuing, "The Pie family adopted me, but I never got the chance to act like a true family with them... since I was so focused on my mission. They are a solid family made up of clowns just like me, and I love every inch of them... Maud, Marble and even that jerk of a pony Limestone. They have all sacrificed so much for me, without even asking for anything in return. I..... I don't know how much of a role model I could be for you, and in a way, I think you are kind of crazy for asking me to take care of you.... but I would never want a better younger sister then you Cozy Glow."

"R... Really?" Cozy Glow said with her eyes as big as the world itself, as her body trembled with both excitement and happiness. Pinkamena patted her head, almost fearing she would shoot off of the ground like a rocket as the mare nodded her head with a cheeky smile.

"I don't think I am the Element of Honesty, but this isn't a lie... I would be happy for you to be a Pie sister Cozy!" Pinkamena giggled, as Cozy's wings shot her up into the air unable to withhold her enthusiasm.

"OhmygodohmygodIamgoingtobePinkamena'ssister!" Cozy Glow screamed, her words jumbled up and almost impossible to understand as she flew around in the sky like a hyperactive hummingbird! "OhmygodthisisgoingtobesoawesomePinkamenaisthebestsistereverIamgoingtopassout!"

Pinkamena smiled, her eyes glistening with optimism as Cozy Glow tackled her in an enormous hug. "Now Cozy Glow you have to stay near your new sister Marble... okay? You have to promise me... you need to be safe."

"O...Okay, just Pinkie Promise me you will come back to me... you have to promise!" Cozy Glow said, squeezing her ribcage like she never wanted to let go.

"I would never leave my new sister hanging, now go into the hive and stay put... watch over the artifacts and make sure nothing goes wrong... I am putting my faith in you."

Cozy Glow saluted with a newly proud smile towards her sister, before flying back into the hive leaving Pinkamena alone on the top of Chrysalis's castle. Pinkamena swallowed herself in magic, before being zapped back to Ponyville with hopes that she could learn Celestia's battle plan and give them the upper hoof like Luna stated.

When the light died down, she stood in Everfree forest with the silence of the woods casing her in soft croaks of woodland creatures. Her wings folded themselves back, as thoughts clawed through the barrier keeping them withheld so she wouldn't freak out again. She shoved them down into the pit of her stomach along with her anxiety, before she heard a soft voice speak behind her.

"P-Pinkamena.... please wait."

She noticed the shy and nervous voice of Shadowbound who must have followed her here, as she turned around and walked up to him. He avoided her gaze, as he fiddled with the dirt under his black hoof as his grey flames skittishly darted in all sorts of directions.

She stood in front of him with a kind expression, "Yes Shadowbound?"

He seemed on edge, and she wouldn't blame him with the war and all.... but why wouldn't he look into her eyes? She bent her head down to catch his gaze, but he still wouldn't look at her and avoided her like the plague! He was silent for many minutes, but Pinkamena stayed wondering what was troubling her best friend.

"Why were you so interested in Sombra?" He said so quietly she wasn't sure she heard him!

"Umm.. sorry what did you say? You sound like Fluttershy all the sudden." Pinkamena teased hoping to break the ice with some humor, but he remained still and anxious.

He took a deep breath before repeating himself a little angrily, "Why were you so mesmerized by King Sombra?"

Pinkamena found herself blushing a little bit, as she bit her lip with a giggling smile. Well this was awkward, why the heck did he want to know an answer to something as stupid as that? Her eyes averted themselves to a bush, as she pawed at the ground with her hoof snorting back uncontrolled laughter.

"Come on Shadowbound I don't really have time for this, we are about to enter a war here!" She responded a bit annoyed, hoping to get it across she did not feel comfortable answering that.

She turned around to walk into Ponyville until Shadowbound whipped around her suddenly with rebellious eyes refusing to let her escape without an answer. "I want the truth Pinkamena... stop trying to avoid my question!"

She looked into his eyes and saw.... hurt? What was going on with him, why did he seem so angry?

"Why do you ask? What's going on? Come on we are best friends, we've known each other since we were babies... if something is bothering you I can tell." Pinkamena said, placing her hoof on the demon's shoulder with an encouraging smile. "Come on... tell your Auntie Pinkie Pie all about it!"

Her joke didn't seem to appease her friend, as she pouted and let her hoof fall off his tense shoulder.

"Just.... never mind... it's nothing." Shadowbound said crossly.

Pinkamena sighed, before lifting up his chin to look into her eyes. "I am going to be honest with you Shadowbound... if there is something I did to make you upset I am sorry. We honestly may never get a chance to speak again, and I didn't tell the group this because I have to be strong for them... but I could die. If there is something you need to say, you need to say it now... while I am still here."

Her hoof resting below his chin could feel the intense heat coming from his fur, as their eyes met and actually looked at each other for the first time. She had been so busy with her mission and her revenge, she never got a chance to notice he did have pupils hidden in the milky eyes he had. They were pearl white, with a hue of blue surrounding his irises and she mentally slapped herself for never noticing.

His breath tickled her muzzle, and her heart caught in her chest when she noticed how close she was leaning in so she could get a better look at his eyes. She stopped, lingering for a second wondering what his reaction would be if she just stayed... for just a second and let him glance into her own eyes.

She could see his eyelids widening, as his flames danced hypnotically along his neck. She once more encouraged him to tell her what it was he was feeling with a low and sweet voice, "You can tell me... I promise I won't judge."

Their eye contact was broken as he pulled away, and her hoof left his chin as he stepped back visibly even more upset. She was shocked when she saw tears forming in the corner of his eyes, as he head drooped not allowing Pinkamena to see his full face.

"It's nothing, just please... don't get hurt... I..." He stopped, shaking his head and trembling as he fled within a puff of smoke and shadows leaving her alone once more.

What a strange little demon, usually he was more open about what he was feeling... why was this time any different?

She could tell how shaken he was, something was eating him up inside, but she couldn't understand what. She had no time to think up a solution though, for she had a mission and her focus needed to be entirely on that. Her scars were covered with pink fur and flesh, as the Pinkie Pie disguise, she often wore surfaced with her blue eyes scanning the forest floor and noticing her wings were no longer present.

She walked to Ponyville, and her breath caught in her throat when she saw Princess Celestia addressing hundreds of mixed creatures in the Town Square. She slipped in, standing in the back and forced herself to wear an oblivious smile instead of the hateful growl she so badly wanted to show.

"Yo Pinkie Pie, how's it hanging? It's been forever!" A scratchy voice greeted, as an armored eagle claw wrapped around her shoulders and pressed her face against its armored chest.

"W-Wait a second... Gilda is that you?" Pinkamena asked as she was freed from the griffon's grasp.

Gilda posed, showing off her golden armor and crying out like a hawk as her tail straightened dramatically to let the earth pony take in all her glory. "Yep in the flesh! Who did you think it was breezebrain!"

"Wait a minute, why are you here? I thought griffons didn't get involved with other kingdoms!" Pinkamena asked as Gilda straightened her purple tipped feathers on her head.

The griffon stretched out her wings and flapped them once, "Yeah... we sorta don't, but Rainbow Dash convinced me to bring along the Griffonstone army since you lame ponies can't take care of yourselves!" Gilda winked, showing she was just being her rough playful self as her claw knocked on her chest plate, "I am the officer of these featherbrains they do what I say... and by the way, your friends were looking for you want me to take you to them?"

Pinkamena nodded, as Gilda threw the mare onto her back before lifting off into the sky above the crowd. Armored Pegasi and griffons flew side by side, orderly in line by the hundreds as Gilda's powerful wings took her around them. Pinkamena could feel her muscles working underneath her, she must be very fit from being in the Griffonstone army which she had no clue that she had recently joined.

"Oh and Pinkie Pie," Gilda called, as Pinkamena turned to look at the flying griffon below her. She gave Gilda her full attention as her feathers brushed against the mare's ribcage as they flapped. "Don't be nervous about this war, it will be over in a minute... since we've got so many numbers the mare Celestia told us about will have to surrender! I also promised to protect you so I will be sticking to your side the entire battle 'ight?"

"You... promised?" Pinkamena asked in curiosity, as Gilda laughed.

"Yep, the big softy Rainbow Dash made me swear I would look after you and keep you safe, what a flip-flop!"

Gilda landed on the concrete, as Twilight nervously paced clearly hyperventilating into a brown bag. Fluttershy was sobbing into Rainbow Dash's shoulder as the Pegasus annoyingly patted her head with a scowl, and Pinkamena assumed she had been doing that for a while. Applejack sat listening to Rarity go on and on about the fate of Equestria, as she numbly looked at dragons roughhousing up above.

Pinkamena slid off of Gilda's back, as the griffon approached the group from behind her. Spike was speaking with the king of the changelings Thorax, while Ember chewed on a large gem completely oblivious to the war.

"I... I don't know Spike, wars s... scare me!" Thorax said, dancing nervously on his light feet as Ember roughly shoved him over with her powerful elbow.

"Ah... quit literally being a pushover! My dragons are the toughest warriors around, we will torch that new changeling hive that is hiding Soul Seeker in seconds! The war will be a breeze, you've got nothing to worry about... I've got your back!" Dragon Lord Ember said, chewing her gem messily as she leaned against Pharynx who was commanding his fleet with a loud voice.

Pinkamena approached her friends as they peered up at her happily greeting her before falling back to their nervous habits. Gilda whistled to Rainbow Dash, who waved shyly at her friends while Fluttershy continued to sob into her shoulder with a death grip. Harry, the bear, picked up his caregiver, before snuggling the gentle Pegasus in his fur with a growl towards Rainbow Dash which made her wings pop out in fear.

The blue Pegasus speedily hid behind the armored Gilda, as the griffon slapped her claws on the ground in a fit of laughter. "You are still as jumpy as when I met you in flight school!"

"Knock it off Gilda, I was just surprised!"

"Suuuure you were, I think you peed a little haha!"

Rainbow Dash looked like she was going to knock the griffon's beak in. As Gilda nudged Pinkamena with a chuckle, trying to make her stare at the Pegasus's bright red face.

"Look Pinkie Pie, she's as red as a tomato! Look... LOOK!" Gilda demanded as she twisted Pinkamena's head to where she could see Dash's angry snarl.

"Knock it off you two, we are going into war!" Ember said in a muffled tone, as she continued to stuff her face with gems making it clear she was "stress eating."

"Says the dragon goring herself on Rarity's jewelry," Gilda accused, as Rarity's head snapped in the direction of Lord Ember who's eyes grew wide.

"Oh... my bad Rarity, I.. I honestly thought it was food! It was just sitting in a pile and I just kind of went for it." The dragon stated as she blew a sheepish puff of fire from her mouth.

"It is here because if I am going into a war, I am going to look fabulous for when our heroic feats are painted!" Rarity said tossing her nose in the air as Applejack groaned.

Suddenly they were approached by Celestia, who earned a quick bow from every pony and creature in front of her. She smiled at them all, as her mane waved behind her elegantly and she returned a respectful bow to the ones deciding the walk with her onto the battlefield.

The princess showed no signs of worry, and Pinkamena was angry that she was so cocky!

"I ask that The Elements of Harmony walk with me in the front, with one blast of your magic it should dispose of Soul Seeker once and for all. Dragon Lord Ember will stand behind us, then the griffons and changelings and so on... if Tirek and Soul Seeker's gang decide to come out of their hiding hole, they will no doubt try to strike." Celestia looked towards Twilight who gave her a determined look.

"We will protect all of Equestria, don't worry Princess!" The Princess of Friendship said, as her mentor gave her a nod of approval.

"I ask if all creatures are ready, we will embark to Chrysalis's new hive at once."

There was a loud war cry from every creature that was huddled in Town Square, as Discord shot out fireworks with a gleeful laugh as the yaks shouted at him. Without another word, Twilight followed Celestia with Rarity and Applejack trailing behind her side by side... along with Fluttershy being dragged by Ember with Thorax encouraging her gently.

Spike wailed in fear, as Pharynx used his mouth to scruff him and carry him behind his chatty brother. Gilda bravely walked in front of Pinkamena and Rainbow Dash as she put on a show to state she was not worried like Ember. Powerful dragons swooped down from the sky, casting a shadow over the moving herd of creatures as Celestia lead her forces towards the hive that contained Pinkamena's friends.

"Hey Pinkamena can you hear me?"

She suddenly jumped at Sombra's voice as she heard him chuckle inside her mind.

"Don't worry I am just using telepathy, we will use this to communicate with each other over long distances. Right now hundreds of creatures have started to form around the hive, awaiting Princess Celestia... Luna found out they are going to storm the hive and destroy the artifacts before they can suck out the magic... what is our move?"

Pinkamena cursed herself before responding, "Keep them away from the hive at all costs, have my sisters look after Cozy Glow and the artifacts but have every pony come to the base of the hive and meet Celestia on the other side of the battlefield, but do not attack until I give my signal!"

The noise of the chatting creatures was almost deafening, as Yaks sung war songs and dragons shot out blasts of fire above, and Thorax's tapping hooves on the ground making a beat from his nervous pace.

Griffons practiced swinging their swords against worn shields, as Gilda shouted at them to save their energy. With thousands of creatures marching, it sounded like a circus and Pinkamena was hardly able to register Rainbow Dash's voice from behind her.

"Pinks... Pinks?"

Pinkamena turned around to see a fidgety Pegasus with a nervous sweat forming around her coat, as her eyes darted around restlessly. "Yeah Dashie?"

"This... This Soul Seeker Princess Celestia talked about... she... s-she isn't that strong right? We can easily defeat her.... right?"

Pinkamena put on a fake smile, "Are you scared Dashie?"

Rainbow Dash snarled with a faint blush, "NO... I just... wanted to make sure that's all."

Pinkamena nudged her body against her unknowing friend's ribs tenderly, before giving her a Pinkie Pie signature grin that she could swear would break her face one day. "It's okay to be nervous, but Soul Seeker isn't going to hurt you... you're too awesome!"

It was sort of true... since Pinkamena was not planning on attacking Rainbow Dash.

"You're right... I am awesome! I could probably fight her all by myself!" Rainbow Dash said showing off her wings as she laughed proudly, "Plus I bet she couldn't even keep up with my speed... she's got to be super old after being banished in that cavern for thousands of years! I bet she would just turn to dust as soon as I beat my wings!"

Pinkamena mentally rolled her eyes, so freaking cocky... just gross!

"Duh... probably so old her teeth will fall out as soon as she speaks!" Pinkamena joked as Rainbow burst out laughing while continuing to walk beside her for some reason.

"Yeah.. or.. or she will have that old granny voice like Granny Smith!" Dash said mocking one of Applejack's kin's voice as the farmer caught the impression and gave Rainbow Dash the stink eye.

They continued to laugh, as Gilda joined in making jokes, as well as the three of them, lost themselves in their own world. Pinkamena continued to calm the nerves of both Rainbow Dash and Gilda, knowing that soon they wouldn't be laughing. She wanted to make their last memories with the Pinkie Pie they know a good one before all was lost in the hellfire.

"Hey Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow Dash asked, as a shadow fell over her face and she started to become visibly shaken with fear. "Can... Can you distract me for a little bit... I just need to think about something else."

Rainbow would never admit to being scared, but she would oblige to help soothe the Pegasus's winded spirit and ease her restlessness the best she could.

"I am Pinkie Pie did you even need to ask, silly?"

So Pinkamena spent the next hour cracking jokes so much Rainbow Dash could hardly breathe, as she kept a watchful eye on Celestia who was nearing closer to the heart of her hideout.

While Rainbow Dash was busy calming her heaving laughs down, her brain was ringing with a voice from one of her friends.

"We can see you approaching, are you ready Pinkamena?" Chrysalis asked, as Pinkamena mentally nodded.

"Ready!"

"Oooo, I can hear every creature's thoughts huzzah!" Luna cheered, before continuing. "We have Pinkamena on our side, so this should end before dinner... and I am hungry! Tirek, what did you say you could cook?"

Tirek's low voice echoed throughout her head, "I said I could cook deviled eggs and a carrot soufflé. Just because I am a villain, it doesn't mean I don't have class!"

"That does sound mouth-watering, Tirek." Sombra responded.

"Shut up you fools, I can see Celestia's mane! We are intercepting her... are you all prepared?" Chrysalis asked.

"I am a centaur I will crush these soldiers like bugs!"

"Can we eat first? Before I betray my dear sister? No...? Okay."

Sombra sighed, "I am not looking forward to being burned alive by dragons... but anything for Pinkamena."

"I am honored to be fighting with you all," Pinkamena said before the communication shut off.

She was a tad bit upset she didn't hear from Shadowbound, and she wondered why. Celestia suddenly stopped, as a giant centaur came lumbering out of the woods and into a humungous clearing. Pinkamena was surprised as Cadance lowered her body from above them onto the ground, as she stood next to Celestia with a straightened posture. Chrysalis pounced out into the clearing, hissing at Shining Armor who held back his legion with a threatening stare. Shadowbound emerged behind Tirek's leg with a furious expression as the armies stared at each other in silence.

Celestia stepped forward, as Sombra appeared baring his fangs while the Princess who broke from her mass following cleared her throat. "I ask of you to give up Soul Seeker, do this... and your punishments will be less severe! I ask of you to question your actions, and think about what you are doing!"

Tirek roared, "Not a chance!"

Celestia bowed her head, "Please surrender I do not wish to fight!"

Suddenly darkness formed in a ball of magic, as a black Alicorn stood beside Sombra. Her large wings stretched out, as dark blue armor matched the steel Celestia wore. Luna dressed in war attire, but not at all like Nightmare Moon even though her fur was black as night. Her helm covered her head but revealed her muzzle and eyes, as plating sat upon her spine while her mane flowed freely. Her legs were covered in this armor as well, as her light blue eyes brimmed with anger and the urge to fight.

"No sister, it is you who shall succumb to a surrender! I shall not fight beside you any longer!"

Her two guards hissed at Celestia, both fluttering their bat wings as they stood beside the princess they served. Celestia was frozen to the spot, as betrayal flashed in her eyes and a look of hurt made her mouth form into a very shattered frown.

"Luna... I do not wish to fight you again..." Celestia quivered, her voice cracking as she held the urge to sob.

Twilight shielded her mentor with her wings, as she spoke. "Luna we will have no choice but to send you to the moon! Is that what you want, why would you serve such a cruel pony and break Celestia's heart!?"

Luna pointed a hoof at Twilight as Sombra greedily licked his fangs in anticipation, "It is you serving a pony of cruelty Twilight Sparkle! I know you do not understand, but if I have to fight you to make you see I will."

Luna's powerful voice caused Twilight to tremble, as she covered her face with her mane. Rainbow Dash was furious, as she flew up into the air rearing to go into battle as Tirek crossed his arms to state he was not moving. Chrysalis could be seen searching the crowd for Pinkamena, but she tried to make it not obvious as her back hooves stamped on the ground impatiently.

"Very well, if you will not give up Soul Seeker we will have to come in and find her ourselves." Celestia warned, as dragons aided her point by snorting heavy smoke from their nostrils.

Tirek got into a hostile position preparing himself to protect the hive with his life, as Chrysalis lowered her body to the ground and opened her wings. Luna lit her horn with magic with a deep breath, as Sombra's hooves covered themselves in dark crystals. Shadowbound's flames enlarged, as his Black Magic caused the grass underneath him to wither from it's growing force.

Pinkamena took the biggest shaky breath possible, time to reveal herself.

She walked forward, as Twilight and the others whispered to their friend "Pinkie Pie" to stay back. Applejack tried to hold her back, but she was not having it as the earth pony was knocked to the ground. Rainbow Dash reared back in surprise, as Pinkamena's skin started to peel off with green light exposing her true form.

"P-Pinkie Pie... what... what's going on... what are you doing?" Pinkamena's newly acquired enemy, "Dashie" said.

She didn't answer as she walked beside Celestia, catching the princess's eye. You don't understand ponies, I am not the villain... but today I will have to be.

I hope one day you can understand, but for now, I will not say a word... I have a mission I have to complete. For the sake of my friends, for Equestria... and for my new sister Cozy Glow... I will not fail.
