The two went their separate ways.

Gohan felt really bad for scaring everyone, but he needed to.

He came up to his home room...

Some students saw him walk in and just... stood still.

Gohan paid no mind to that, Fluttershy was crying at his desk with her head down.

Another crying girl.

He rushed to her...

"Fluttershy? What's wrong?" He asked.

Fluttershy very slowly lifted her head, showing some tearful eyes.

"Oh... Hey, Gohan..." She muttered.

"Is someone bothering you? What happened?" Gohan asked.

"Sunset... She betrayed us..." Fluttershy sobbed.

'Ah... I was hoping she wouldn't say that.' Gohan thought.

"...Yeah...I heard everything." He said.

"I don't want to believe it..." Fluttershy said.

"I even yelled at her..." She said.

"I found out the truth..." Gohan said, sitting down at the desk beside her.

"That she's Anon-A-Miss?" Fluttershy asked.

"No, that she's not Anon-A-Miss." Gohan said.

"What?" Fluttershy asked, completely surprised.

'I thought he could connect the dots himself...' She thought.

"It's really not possible." Gohan said.

"But she's the only one who could've done all of this..." Fluttershy said, sitting up and wiping her tears.

"Before I really tell you how I know... Would it make sense for Sunset to just turn on us?" Gohan asked.

"No... At least, I used to think not." Fluttershy said.

"Fluttershy. I exist." Gohan said.

"Would she really degrade us in front of thousands of people?" He asked.

"Well... I didn't think she would... But she did..." Fluttershy said, remaining stubborn.

"We're practically her second family here. She seems to think so." Gohan said.

Fluttershy remained silent...

"...Plus, she could harness the magic of friendship. I doubt she would do any of this under any circumstances." Gohan said.

"...I know it's hard for you to believe. I don't actually know the culprit myself. But it's clearly not Sunset." He said.

"But it doesn't make sense..." Fluttershy said.

"If she didn't do it, how did her pictures get posted...?" She asked.

"I can't answer that. But... I read her mind." Gohan said.

"You can do that?" Fluttershy asked.

"My dad taught me." Gohan said.

'Being the best father possible until the very end... Heh, he was still the best father ever.' He thought.

"I may not entirely know how these social media websites work, but Sunset never looked at them once afterwards." He said.

"So... She's not..." Fluttershy said, completely shocked.

"She isn't Anon-A-Miss. I need your help to find out the culprit, Fluttershy. We need to tell the others." Gohan said.

"Why don't we just tell everyone...?" Fluttershy asked.

"Nobody would really believe it. Think about it. Everyone is dog piling on Sunset mainly because this is what she would have done in the past." Gohan said.

"And not everyone knows me that well." He added.

"Oh... I should apologize to her..." Fluttershy said.

"Well, we'll figure something out. If you meet the others, tell them the truth. We have to protect Sunset." Gohan said.

"A bunch of people were ready to hurt her out in the hallway." He said.

"Oh no...!" Fluttershy said.

"Don't worry, we'll clear her name somehow." Gohan said.

"...Alright." Fluttershy said.

"Maybe we should just tell them at lunch." She said.

"They'll be there, so I suppose that's a better idea." Gohan said.

"That sounds like a plan..." Fluttershy said, looking ahead.

She's clearly hurt that she was embarrassed, but...

At least she knew it wasn't really Sunset.

It's lunchtime.

The lunchroom was crowded, as usual.

Sunset didn't even bother showing up to the table with her friends.

The result would be obvious.

The gang sans Sunset were already eating...

They were silent and embarrassed.

All day, people made fun of them by oinking and mock singing at them.

Gohan was very slowly eating at around the same pace as everyone else.

So, someone finally broke the silence...

"...How was your day...?" Gohan asked.

"Absolutely terrible." Rarity said.

"Did Fluttershy tell ya about Sunset yet?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I figured it out on my own." Gohan said.

"Ugh, I can't believe her." Applejack said.

"I don't wanna believe it." Pinkie said.

"I don't know how we couldn't see how wrong we were to trust her." Rarity said.

"...We were wrong, but not like that." Fluttershy said.

"What do you mean?" Applejack asked.

"Sunset isn't Anon-A-Miss." Fluttershy said.

"What? Of course she is!" Rainbow Dash said.

"She really isn't." Gohan said.

He put his food down.

"It doesn't make sense, I read her mind, and whoever it is, they are very clever." He said.

"You can read minds?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Ooh! Ooh! Read mine!" Pinkie said, appearing right next to him.

"Uh... Sure." Gohan said, putting his hand on her head.

"...Why am I hearing elevator music?" He asked.

"Oh, that's just what plays at this time of day! In an hour or so, I'm in Candyland!" Pinkie said.

"...That's nice." Gohan said, taking his hand away.

He's slowly getting used to it.

"Then I go meet two Satans and the Devil at 4-" "-Anyway!" Gohan interrupted.

"I read Sunset's mind... And she didn't do it." He said.

"I don't believe you." Rainbow Dash said.

"Well, it's not like I'd expect you to right off the bat, but Sunset has no motive to do it anyway. The truth is, we're her second family, according to her. Also, why would she degrade us?" Gohan asked.

"Especially him...?" Fluttershy said.

"Well... I guess that adds up." Rarity said.

"And you wouldn't lie about this. I know it when you lie." Applejack said.

"You do?" Gohan asked.

"You can't avoid my questions by lying. You all twitch in some way when you do." Applejack said.

"Well, I suppose the element of honesty would know stuff like that." Gohan said.

'I know your dad is dead. No judging on you trying to hide it.' Applejack thought.

"Well, who's the real Anon-A-Miss?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I don't know. We need to figure that out." Gohan said.

"I'm still kinda... You know." Rainbow Dash said.

"The evidence is pretty strong against her." Rarity said.

"The true criminal is very clever. But again, Sunset wouldn't risk our friendship." Gohan said.

"She didn't really stand a chance against him as a she-demon..." Fluttershy said.

"Okay, that's a lie, but, you get the point." Gohan said.

'I'm sure you would've beaten her yourself.' Fluttershy thought.

"...Well, I'll trust you then." Rainbow Dash said.

"Alright, good. After school, we'll find Sunset and sort this out." Gohan said.

"Sounds like a plan. I really need to apologize to her, then..." Rainbow Dash said.

"Samesies." Pinkie said.

"Yep." Applejack said.

"We all need to." Fluttershy said.

"Well, before any of that happens..." Gohan said.

He picked up his box.

Then he started chowing down on his mother's cooking.

With Sunset...

Her whole day was ass.

Everyone was giving her those dirty looks, and someone already stole all her pens and pencils.

She had to eat her lunch behind a trash can on the third floor, far from the cafeteria and-

It was the end of the day.

Sunset hid herself in the library.

With all these students pissed off at her, she didn't really have much of a choice.

Behind a bookshelf, she was just checking her phone.

Nothing better to do.

And...

"Sunset...?" Applejack called.

Sunset looked to the side to her all her friends...

"Oh...!" She said in surprise.

She stood up.

"How did you all know I was...?" She asked.

Then she noticed Gohan.

"Oh. Nevermind." She said.

The whole gang came to her.

"We came to apologize..." Fluttershy said.

"I'm sorry for yelling..." She said.

"I-It's fine..." Sunset said.

"You aren't a secret-stealer." Pinkie said.

"Uh... Yeah." Sunset said.

"This guy just gave us a reality check, and we need to do something about this." Rainbow Dash said, patting Gohan on the back.

"But first..." Pinkie said.

She pulled Sunset in, and then she pulled everyone else in for a group hug.

"Apology hug!" She said loudly.

"Shh!" The librarian, Cheerilee hushed.

"Sorry...!" Pinkie said.

Then, she let them all go.

"So... Who wants shakes?" She asked.

"...Come on, who wants 'em?" She asked.

At Sugarcube Corner...

The group was sitting in their regular lounge spot.

No drinks, except for Pinkie with a chocolate shake.

"How did convincing them work out?" Sunset asked Gohan.

"We thought he was pranking us." Rainbow Dash said.

"I really love you guys, I don't wanna ruin my second chance." Sunset said.

"We realize that." Rarity said.

"...Also I really don't want to make him angry." Sunset said.

"...That too." Rarity said.

"But how are we going to convince everyone else?" Sunset asked.

"...We have suspects." Applejack said.

"You do?" Sunset asked.

"It took a little bit of a struggle..." Gohan said, nervously smiling.

"You're accusin' my sister!? How could you even think of sayin' that!?"

"Applebloom is the only other person here that knew about my nickname before this whole thing." Applejack said.

"And Sweetie Belle was the only other person at the last slumber party." Rarity said.

"But I really don't want to believe it..." Applejack said.

"How do we know for sure that it's them?" Fluttershy asked.

"I could always just read their minds too." Gohan said.

"...But we still need some hard evidence." He said.

"Why don't we check their phones?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"That's a good idea..." Fluttershy said.

"Maybe just watch them in general?" Pinkie asked.

"...Elaborate." Gohan said.

"Well, two hours ago, Rainbow Dash's D- on her essay was posted..." Pinkie said.

"Wait, what?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Did you let anyone into your bag?" Gohan asked.

"No... I do let Scoots inside when sh- Wait a minute." Rainbow Dash said.

"...That's a third suspect..." Sunset said.

"...This is all sounding more reasonable than I initially thought." Rarity said.

"Who is that again?" Gohan asked.

"Scootaloo. You know, purple hair, and follows me around sometimes." Rainbow Dash said.

"Aren't they a trio of sorts?" Rarity said.

"Yeah... That could explain why they seem to be connected to this whole thing." Sunset said.

"How should we confront them?" Pinkie asked.

"We don't want to be too forward..." Gohan said.

"...Perhaps we should catch them in the act." Rarity said.

"A setup?" Gohan asked.

"Precisely." Rarity said.

"That's an easy one." Both Rainbow Dash and Applejack said.

Then they both looked at each other...

They chuckled.

"It's also very easy for me to trick my sister." Rarity said.

"Wait, is Scootaloo your sister?" Gohan asked Rainbow Dash.

"Nah." Rainbow Dash said.

"I see a resemblance, but I guess that's just me..." Gohan said.

"Alright, girls... I think I got a plan." Applejack said.

"Same here." Rainbow Dash said.

"So do I." Rarity said.

"I don't!" Pinkie said.

"...Uh, yes... You don't." Fluttershy said.

Tried my own spin on this thing but kinda seems dumb. I don't want to just copy exactly what happened in the comic, but I don't have the best imagination.
