The Last Element of Chaos
Chapter 2: Chapter Two
Previous ChapterShe woke up on the cold stone floor. There was only a single beam of light coming out of the small hole in the wall. She tried to rise, but was stopped instantly. Her own body screamed at her to stop. She struggled for a bit, realizing she couldn't do anything. At least not for a while.
"How did I get here?"
It was a dark, cold room. A little too cold for her, as she shivered.
She curled herself up and wrapped her tail against her body. She tried to remember what had happened the previous night, before the second question erupted from her mind.
"Where am I?"
She lifted her head and looked around in the room, desperately trying to notice every detail that could give away her position. There was a banner hanging on the wall, showing a picture of a weirdlooking figure with the head of a pony with arms from chickens and lions. She could've sworn she had seen that particular creature somewhere before, but quickly shoved the thought out of her head and continued. Next to the banner was a table with two chairs. On the table was an unlit candle that hadn't been used in years. It was covered in so much dust she couldn't even see any of the white left from it.
To her left, there was a door. She was pretty sure that it was locked, but still crawled over to it and tried to open it.
She didn't find out if it was locked, because she simply did not have the strength to pull down the handle. She felt ashamed, helpless and weak.
She sat down as the final question which had ached her mind managed to escape her lips, which was barely even a whisper.
"Who am I..."
She thought about it for a moment, before hitting her head with her left front hoof and decided that she could think about that when she was out of this horrible place.
She looked at the banner once more. She watched the colourful items on it, and especially that weird creature in the middle. She moved the banner, and on the wall there were a lot of cracks and marks, as if someone; or something tried to smash it.
They did not reach success.
She slowly took herself even closer to the wall, trembling with pain. First she knocked gently on the far end of the wall, but as her hoof came closer and closer to the middle, the more it started to sound like it was hollow. Instantly she gained some hope, and looked sharply at the marks. It was nothing but a second room on the other side, similar to the one she was trapped in, but her mind couldn't acknowledge that. It kept telling her it was a way out.
The little filly looked around in the room after something that she could smash the wall with. However, the room was almost empty, so after a while of frenetic searching, she ended up banging the wall with her hooves.
She gave up after a few minutes, sat down in the corner and let the tears flow from her eyes. She wasn't sad because of the fact that she was captured and locked up in a dark, cold room.
She had no memory of who she was, who she knew or pretty much anything else other than this dark, cold and deppressing room. She fell asleep in the corner, tears in her eyes, scratches on her coat, and scars in her mind.
She woke up a few hours later, feeling a little better. She looked up on the wall, and once again noticed the small hole in the wall. She thought it would be a good idea to look out of the hole and maybe see where she was. With ease that surprised even herself, she moved the table until it stood right under the gap. She climbed up on it and noticed it was a bit unsteady, which she had not expected. However, she managed to stretch herself upward, lean against the wall and look out of the hole. It was the middle of the day, making it much brighter than she had expected. With the sun in her eyes, she recoiled and stumbled backwards.
Blinded, dizzy and standing on an unsteady table, not very surprisingly, she fell down; landing with her right front hoof on a small rock. She could barely hear the tearing sound before she touched the floor with the rest of her body.
She shrieked loudly in pure pain, as her wound opened in the blink of an eye, blood pouring out fiercely. She desperatly buried her damaged hoof into her stomach, hoping it would ease the pain.
A loud bang was heard as the door was smashed open. She pressed herself towards the corner, shivering and clattering teeth as she watched a creature with a piglike head and the body of a gorilla walking through the door. It was hovering, but it didn't have any wings.
"How does he..." She slowly thought before passing out.
---
She became drenched in water. She shuttered for a bit, before blinking her eyes rapidly in shock.
"Alright kid, wake up! You're fine!"
When she regained her mind, she started to crawl backwards with panic, looking left and right every second.
"Who are you!?" She screamed at him angrily.
"Why, I'm the guy who captured you and used you as a bait of course!"
He chuckled and sat down by the table as he said it, talking with a calm and concentrated voice.
"Get me out of her right now! Or else I.... I-I'll kill you!" Her voice was trembling, not showing even the slightest bit of confidence.
The creature went a little closer, a doubtful look on his face.
"Oh yeah? And how were you gonna do that? Hit me with the hoof I fixed for you?"
The filly looked down on her hoof, noticing that it was perfect healed, there was not even a scar on it.
"How did you... No wait, how did I even get the cut?"
His expression instantly changed from being confident to serious.
"You don't remember anything? Anything at all?"
She didn't respond, her facial expression being enough for him.
"That means the spell worked. Usually fails at determined ponies."
She blinked her eyes a couple of times before somewhat understanding what he said.
"Wait a minute, what spell? How did I get here? And who am I? Can you please explain something to me?"
He held up a hand, urging her to keep silent. "The spell that removes your personal memories until someone calls out your name. A real nice one, according to me."
He walked up to the small hole, and waved his hand in front of it. Some of the bricks left their places and hovered across the room. They landed in a pile behind the now opened door. The room was instantly filled with light.
"You can fly without and wings, and you can do magic without a horn? How does that even work?"
He sat down on the chair once more, chuckling to himself.
"I am made by huge magic, and according to logic, I should then posess huge magic aswell. I am not exactly flying, I am simply levitating myself with magic whenever I go somewhere."
The little filly was beyond confusion, she could barely accept everything this creature was saying to her mind.
"Will I ever get out of here? She asked, losing strength in her voice at every word.
The creature nodded, gave her a pleasant smile and once again started to talk.
"So full of questions... Look kid, I can tell you pretty everything that you ask, except for your name. Someone else will give you that information. You should really believe me, this will be a lot easier for you if you can't remember your past experiences. Now, shall we begin?"
She sat down on the other chair trembling. Not with fear this time, but with extreme doubt.
"Why would you just answer anything? Who says that you wont simply lie to me?"
"I do, because I will leave this world soon, after a long time of waiting. I have had none to talk to about my existance, and I want to change that. Master Dracord created me with too much personality in my opinion."
She thought the whole situation was surreal, but she couldn't leave the thought that he wasn't lying, and decided to keep asking questions.
"What's your name?"
"My name? Well... I was called Savacure. You should keep that in mind, considering you are the second creature in the entire world to know of it.
She was starting to become more and more confident as she asked the most important question.
"Why did you come here?"
Savacure chuckled to himself before clearing his throat with a cough.
He had expected that question, and as he prepared his long answer, he took a deep breath and got ready to pour his entire lifetime onto the mind of a little filly he had kidnapped.
"To eliminate the element." He replied with a grin.
The little filly shook her head in confusion.
"What element? What are you talking about!?"
Savacure paused for a moment, smiling at her.
"The last element of chaos. I will explain that, so don't you worry."
She sighed impatiantly, before waving her hoof, encouraging him to continue.
"Alright... Here we go.
A long time ago, longer before the princess sisters were even born; there were many series of floods that hit Equestria a few times per week or so. Noone could explain why they would come, and people had no choice but to move up higher and higher each month, eventually living in the mountains.
This bothered everyone, so they all decided that they should send down their best divers to find what was causing the natural disasters. They did so, and what they found instantly made the disasters less natural."
"What did they find?" She asked eagerly.
"Apparently, there was this octupus who was furiously smashing the sea by some reason that they never found out. It never stopped sending away more water and more water everyday, and someone simply had to stop it.
Master Dracord, ruler of Equestia; could only find one solution to the problem.
He went on a journey to find a few brave ponies who could help him stop the angered octupus. After 3 years of despair and suffering, he found a group of 6 friends, and brought them to the capital. Master used his enormous powers to create six items, each designed for each and every one of them. He called the items elements of harmony."
She opened her mouth for a brief moment, before she closed her eyes and contentrated.
"I swear I have heard of those before..."
"No, Really? How about the part when I said `Removes personal memories´? Of course you have heard of it, you just can't remember! Now, would you let me finish?"
With a soft sigh she put her chin on the table, rolling her eyes.
"The octupus, who was still ravaging the sea, was getting tired, as master let the heroes use the elements to save Equestria from total flooding. They succeded of course, since they were using the elements of harmony. The water settled down, and everyone helped to restore their land to it's former glory. The 6 ponies were celebrated as heroes, and lived like kings. Everything was perfect at that time.
This changed, however; as about a year after the octupus incident something happened.
One of the ponies, the element of laughter I believe, started to change. He stopped laughing, he stopped going out to meet his friends, he locked himself up in his house and isolated himself from the world.
One day, he left his house, left the town, and didn't come back for a month.
When they saw him again, he stood on the top of a hill, wearing black clothing and armor. He stood there for an hour, before he rushed into the town, destroying everything in his path. He repeated the process in several other cities, and noone could stop him. It was a horrible time, and master Dracord had no idea what to do to prevent it. He searched through his large library, not finding anything. one night, he had a vision.
The little filly leaned in closer and closer with curiosity, slowly forgetting the situation she was in.
"Master could see a prophecy. One that could destroy the world as we know it, unless he did something about it. He learned that the elements of harmony was destined to exist even before he made them, and that they had an extreme flaw.
Once the elements of harmony had done something so save the world, like stopping the octupus; one of them would change. They would be taken by the essence of Nightmare, becoming an element of chaos. There would be six generations of element bearers, and therefore six elements of chaos.
The only thing that could stop an element of chaos, was the next generation elements of harmony. According to the prophecy, the elements of chaos would roam the earth forever, being unstoppable until the new bearers would arrive.
Master Dracord simply had to stop this.
He found the pony who was terrorizing the entire land, and locked him up in the moon. It was one of the most powerful spells he had ever cast. He told everybody that after a thousand years, the stars would guide the insane pony to his escape.
That was not true, as he could simply escape on his own once the new generation of element bearers would come to this world."
Savacure stopped and took a deep breath, before he continued.
"600 years passed, and eventually the wicked creature who used to be an element of laughter returned from the moon, corrupted by the essence of Nightmare. Master Dracord once again sent himself on a quest to find the bearers of the elements of harmony. He eventually found a group of friends in a small town by the edge of Equestria. They agreed to help him, and accepted themselves as the new elements of harmony.
Master sent the 6 new heroes to stop Nightmare, and very well succeded; being the elements of harmony after all. A year later, one of the female ponies who was by now celebrated as a hero disappeared. A month later, she returned in a black suit with black armor to steal all of the food, burn the acres and poison stores.
Master could see what was coming, and he repeated the process of capturing the corrupted pony in the moon. Many years passed, and eventually the mare returned to bring starvation once more.
She was stopped after a mere week, by the new generation of elements. As master expected, after a year one of the bearers disappeared, returning a month later to wreak havoc everywhere.
Master Dracord enprisoned the third chaos element in the moon, not so easily as before however. His magic was fading, he could not use such powerful spells much longer.
My master was the one who ruled Equestria as a great leader for hundreds of thousands of years, the one who saved it from all kinds of danger, the one who created me!
I never expected him to sacrifice himself.
You see, he found out that he was slowly loosing his power. He could only save the world as we know it by using the very last of his extreme amount of magic. Master created his plan, which held a lot of victims, including himself.
Master Dracord would wield the elements of harmony to stop the next chaos element. He indeed knew that it would corrupt him completely, but it was neccesary.
Before he did that, he needed something to stop the remaining 3 elements of chaos. First, master was looking around his land for two predeccesors who could take his place. He eventually found two alicorns, called Celestia and Luna. He transferred most of his enormous magic into them, so they would not fail to stop him once he became filled with chaos.
Eventually after many years, the day came when the corrupted pony left the moon and started his rampage once again. Master Dracord knew what he had to do, and went into his spell chamber. He used some of the extreme power in the elements of harmony to create an assasin, made for one purpose only.
Me."
"Savacure, I think you're getting off track..."
"I'm getting to it" He said with gritted teeth.
"Master used the elements to stop Nightmare for the third time. It was rather easy for him, and the day after he went to Celestia to give her a mission.
He told her that things would happen to him sooner or later, and that she had to keep him from ruling Equestria in that state.
`Listen, Celestia. A similar thing might happen to your sister. If so, I do not want you to kill her. Enprison her in the moon, and she just might make it with the help of the next generation.´
Celestia listened carefully, slowly accepting the information that she might never see her sister or master again. She were not either allowed to tell anyone that the fearsome creature that would arise was the same as master. `Whatever happens, you must not hesitate to stop me´ Was the last words my master ever said to her. Before he left, he flicked his hand, and gave Celestia a protective spell. Celestia has not even to this date found out what the spell was.
Master Dracord locked himself up in his castle and started to teach me about all the things he had done and experienced.
He said that I would be asleep until the day came when the last element of chaos showed itself. I would then follow it, learn it and eventually know it. Then I was tasked to do everything in my might to destroy it.
Master Dracord locked me up in a glass tank, where I fell asleep instantly. I was given information into my brain by magical force, and fed by several tubes. Master hid the tank deep under the earth, and then continued his life.
About a year later, master Dracord was dead.
The essence of Nightmare had taken over him, as he started to call himself "Discord".
He was in charge of Equestria for a short while, before Luna and Celestia encased him in stone using the elements of harmony."
"Wait, that went a little fast...How did they do that?" She said while frowning deeply.
"You know that already. When you regain your memory you'll find out.
Anyway, a year after the two alicorns had stopped him, Luna became corrupted by Nightmare. Celestia followed her task given to her by Dracord, and stopped her by enprisoning her in the moon; not casting the same spell as master did, but using the power of the elements of harmony. Celestia would not be attacked by Nightmare, because Dracord had given her a protective spell to shield her from it.
The biggest problem was that when the fifth element would go free and be stopped by the last generation of elements of harmony, there would be one chaos element left.
Master Dracord had a plan how to stop the circle forever. To save the world from eternal chaos."
She was now looking with intense at every move and sound he made, being wrapped up in the tale he was telling her.
"Wait, what will happen to the last element of chaos!?"
"That's why he created me. I was actually created merely for destroying the last element. I have been looking for Nightmare for quite a while now, ever since the group of elementbearers stopped, or saved; Nightmare moon.
However... It has been found. I found the last element of chaos a few years ago. She escaped from me, which is rather understandable, but I have to find her. She is not corrupted yet, but she will be. And then it's too late.
"Savacure... How are you going to stop her if she doesn't know what it's all about yet?"
He sighed softly.
"She will come here willingly, because you mean a great deal to her.
Her name, is Rainbow dash."
--------------
A loud banging on the door echoed in the house of Sweet Apple Acres.
"Ah'm comin'!" The orange mare with country accent said, slightly irritated. She paced herself towards the door slowly, being extremely tired. It was unlike her, she always woke up early every single day, happy and ready for work. She opened the door and saw a white filly unicorn.
"Oh, hi Sweetie belle! Ah was kinda hopin' to see ya. Have ya seen Applebloom around? Ya see, lunch is ready."
Sweetie belle wasn't even listening to what she was saying, and started to talk in a voice that most ponies would call rather fast.
"WewenttolookforScootaloobutthennoonewasinherhouseandwelookedforherandsomethingwaswronginthereandtherewascamerasandstuffmakingusreallyscared!"
Applejack stared at her blankly for a few seconds, before shaking her head violently.
"Jus' a lil' slower, and ah might jus' work out what ya said, sugahcube"
Sweetie belle breathed deeply for a few seconds, before she continued.
"We were going to meet up with Scootaloo, but she wasn't at her house. We went back later, and decided to look through the house. However, someone had messed with her room and put up cameras everywhere! Something is definately wrong in there!"
Applejack thought for a few seconds, before she suddenly turned around and walked back into her house. Sweetie belle waited nervously outside of the door for a few minutes, unable to stand still. Finally Applejack returned with her brother, wearing a suspicious look on her face.
"Right, so yer sayin' Scoots is missin'?"
"I don't know anything except for that we can't find her!"
Applejack wandered away in her mind for a moment, before telling Sweetie belle to step in. They went into a large living room, with a big red couch next to the wooden wall. There were many lamps hanging from the ceiling, and there banners dangling from the lamps. There was a fireplace in the end of the room, with a pile of wood right next to it.
Applejack sat down by the couch. "Macintosh, could ya get us some juice?"
"Sure thing, sis'." The red stallion replied. The apple family had a small code about juice. If one pony asks the other if they can get a drink for them, it means they are going to talk serious bussiness; and that you should not return until the first pony says something that implies return. Something like: `How's that juice coming up?´
The colt walked into the kitchen silently.
"Ight... Sweetie belle, what did ya mean by `Messed up the room´? Was it shredded?"
Applejack talked very seriously.
"Well..." Sweetie started softly, withdrawing her face from the orange work pony.
"It's the difference really. It's all pink, clean and filled with posters of various singers."
Applejack looked at her with a face implying that the white filly had wasted her time.
"Darn it Sweetie! I bet she's just out looking for Rainbow dash or something, why do ya girls have so much imagination!? Where's Applebloom?"
"No look, that's not like Scootaloo at all! She is never tidy, she doesn't like pink and she hates singing overall! Also, there was a shredded ragdoll resembling Rainbow dash! Applebloom said that the doll had been talking to her!"
Applejack lost focus completely, slowly mumbling out something that was inaudible to Sweetie belle. Big Macintosh walked into the room and sat down by his sister.
"Sweetie belle, ah know that yer frightened, but it couldn't have been that bad. What made this whole thing so intense and scary?" He said with his normal deep voice.
Sweetie belle sat still for a moment, before she sighed softly. She understood that Macintosh had been eavesdropping, but decided not to mention it.
"Scootaloo lives alone. All alone in that big house, living with bits earned from a competition. She also left a letter!"
Applejack gave her a doubtful look as Big Macintosh added with a cold voice:
"Well, Sweetie belle... Did ya even read that letter?"
"Uh, not really... Applebloom went over to Rainbow dash to read it with her.
Applejack moaned angrily and gritted her teeth. If there was a wall next to her, she would've undoubtly smashed her head against it.
"Ight, we're goin' to Dash to sort things out! Hopefully she'll have some sense in her! By the way, why did ya run here to us and not to Rarity?"
Sweetie belle instantly lowered her ears, a sad look on her face.
"She wouldn't understand..."
Applejack frowned and looked at her for a brief moment before sighing softly and taking a deep breath.
"Oh.... Ah get it... Well, let's go?"
Sweetie belle didn't look up from the floor.
"Yeah.... Let's go..."
The orange mare walked up to the oak door, opening it with a light, but determined push.
She left the house with Sweetie belle in her heels. Macintosh had to stay behind and drink applejuice for 3 ponies. At first it made him upset, but as he took his first sip he found the simple drink delicious.
Applejack didn't know much about the situation, but she knew that Sweetie belle had some issues with Rarity. She signaled with her head to Sweetie belle that she should keep up. She intended to confront Applebloom at the cloud house, but as she walked more and more she started to argue with herself wether she should take this seriously or not.
They walked through the town silently. It was the middle of the day, and Sweetie belle was worried about Scootaloo. Applejack, on the other hand, was worried about Sweetie belle overreacting. She was almost sure that Scootaloo was fine. Sweetie belle looked sad and broken. She tried to break the silence, failing horribly.
"So... How's yer singin' goin' round? Ah heard ya sing the "Cutie mark crusader theme song" and believe me, it was really good!" The workpony smiled at her with glee.
"Rarity said I should stop a bit with it because it distracts her from work." Applejack's smile faded quickly. She bit her lip and started to scream at herself for making everything worse.
"Look fella, ah'm sorry for bein' so mad at ya before, but ah simply think there's nothin' wrong with Scoots!"
Sweetie belle's chin almost touched the ground in her deep sadness.
"Yeah, I know you'd think that... But you didn't see the house, it was just horrible."
Applejack put on a weak smile, and lost herself in thoughts once more. Not much time passed until she saw the rainbow castle in front of her, and the orangecoated pony instantly lit up with hope.
"Well, We'll find out soon enough, don'cha think?"
------
An annoying voice echoed in the cloud castle, making Rainbow dash wake very suddenly.
"RAINBOW DASH!"
She fell off of her bed and hit her head on the bedside table.
"Ow! Damn it, Hoops! One more of those lucky hits and I'll...Oh."
She looked around herself to make sure noone was there.
Everyone knowing that she dreamt nightmares, or sometimes good dreams about fighting with her childhood bullies would be pretty bad for her.
Then she heard the shout again.
"Hey Raaaaaainbooooooow!"
Rainbow grunted as she raised herself, flexing her wings for a moment, before moving outside of her cloud door. She gently flew down, landing right next to the yellow filly with red hair.
"Oh, hey Applebloom, what's up?" Rainbow dash tried to force a smile as she looked at her, but it ended up looking like a mocking grin because she was simply too grumpy after recently waking up. Especially after waking up to a bad dream, and landing on her table.
"Rainbow, Ah need ya to read this! We found it in Scoots house!" The filly trembled a bit as she gave her the letter, and Rainbow dash could not tell if she did so of exhaustion or fear.
However, she reacted a moment later to what she had said, and lost all signs of being tired.
"Wait minute, did something happen in Scoots house!?"
Applebloom looked at the pegasus, who was by now visibly nervous.
"Somethin' is going on over in her house and she left this letter... Me and Sweetie belle thought it'd be a good idea if you read it."
Rainbow dash had barely even opened the letter and was already shaking with fear.
"Rainbow, are you OK? You look really sick." Applebloom simply watched as she dropped the letter over and over again.
She could simply not put to her mind why Rainbow was so afraid.
Rainbow dash was finally able to open the letter, and pulled it out hastily.
"What happened in the house?" She asked without removing her eyes from the letter.
"Well... There are cameras everywhere..."
Rainbow dash nodded, urging her to continue.
"Her room is not like her at all..."
Dash froze, lifted her head and stared into Applebloom fiercely.
"Like what? Don't bother with details, was there anything really strange in there?"
Applebloom looked into her eyes, which were filled with panic.
"There was this ragdoll... It was torn to pieces, destroyed by giant teeth completely. It was resembling... You. It was also magical by some sort because it... It talked to me.
With that, tears started to form in Dash's eyes. She started reading, her face slowly fading from anger to sadness. The more she read, the more her face lost more and more colour. Applebloom started to get suspicious at this, just watching as the rainbow-maned pegasus read the note like she was isolated from the rest of the world.
"Dash, did ya know anythin' strange 'bout Scootaloo before this!?"
She nodded slowly. The last colour drained from her face, a look on her face so sad and heartbroken it almost made Applebloom cry just by looking at it. The tears started to fall from the rainbowmaned pegasus's eyes.
"He took her... The son of a bitch took her!"
With amazing speed, she flew up towards her cloud castle, leaving Applebloom with mouth open. The yellowcoated filly had no idea what had happened, and she could not read the note because Dash had taken it up with her.
She sat down, staring at the huge cloud house above her. It didn't make a sound. She stared as in trance, just waiting for something to happen.
Suddenly, she raised to her hooves ready, as she heard the voice of her sister.
"Hey Applebloom! Wat'cha doin' over there!?"
While Applejack stood from a distance, while Sweetie belle instantly ran up to her friend eagerly.
"Did you find her? What did she say? What about the letter?"
Applebloom drifted out into thoughts for a moment before shaking her head, getting ready to explain.
"Applebloom! Where've ya been, scaring everyone? Lunch was ready 'bout an hour ago!"
"Scootaloo is missin' sis! And Rainbow dash knows something about it!"
Applejack shook her head in a matter that told the two fillies `This again?´ and walked up to her younger sister.
"Now, Applebloom... Ah am one hundered percent sure that Scoots is jus' fine! Now let's go home, eat some food and you'll see her later!
"No! She is missin', and Rainbow dash knows somethin' 'bout it! Are you deaf?"
Applejack was dumbfounded by the sudden, angry retaliation from her own little sister.
"very well then, Applebloom... Where is Rainbow dash!?" She said sarcasically.
"She went up to her house crying after she read the note Scoots left! I'm waiting for her to-"
At the exact moment she said that, a cyan-coloured pony flew out of her cloud door, dropped something and flew away at amazing speed.
Rainbow dash took a deep breath. She thought she had lost that Savaguy forever, but apparently she was wrong. He had played the right cards against her, for she would never, ever abandon Scootaloo. Part of it was because Rainbow dash loved her more than she would tell anyone, but mostly because she owed it to the orange little filly. She had basically been treating her like dirt in public, just to keep her image. She felt worse than ever, and sped up to cool herself down.
`Hold on Scoots; I'm coming!´
She could feel the resistance enveloping her, but she ignored it. She sped up further, eventually breaking the speed of sound.
The explosion ached her ears, a huge circle of spectrum bursted out from her sides, aswell as a rainbow emerging from behind her. The last sentimentality left the tomboy. She might like some of the soft and cute stuff, but it was enough now. Rainbow dash kept on flying, not intending to stop until she was standing face to face with the weirdlooking creature with a piglike face and the body of a gorilla. And when she was there, she would show him some real chaos.
The 3 ponies on the ground stared in awe, forgetting all about what they were argueing about.
Seconds passed, and eventually a note landed in front of Sweetie belle. She reacted slowly, but suddenly regained focus and picked it up.
"It's the note from Scootaloo!"
Applejack didn't grunt this time, she was starting to get curious. Especially since Dash had bolted away with a sonic rainboom.
"Well then, what'cha waitin' for? Read it!"
Sweetie belle cleared her throat, sat down on a rock and started to read.
This letter will be maintained by Rainbow dash. If anyone else than Rainbow dash finds this, please pass it on to her and she will decide what to do with it.
I suppose I should start with my life story, which I have never told anyone except Rainbow dash about.
I was born in Cloudsdale, living in a big house until I had just learned to fly. I was thrilled by that, and whenever I felt the slightest sad, I would start to fly. I remember Dash telling me that she flew when she was sad aswell. However, I do not remember my family, nor where I lived at all. The only thing I remember from my past life was that I lived close to the edge of the cloud city, and that one day when I was flying in my "Garden", I decided to go a little higher than usual. As I was happily singing a song to myself, I didn't look down where I was supposed to land, and I put my hoof on the edge of a big cloud. As I did so, the ground under me crumbled; and not surprisingly, I instantly started to fall.
On my way falling, I desperatly tried to flap my wings, not working very well. I was only a filly after all. I got closer and closer to the ground, and when I was about to hit the ground, someone tried to catch me. Even though we crashed into the evergreen forest, that one pony saved my life. That pony was Rainbow dash.
I woke up a few days later at a hospital in ponyville. To the left of my bed sat the mare with rainbowcoloured mane who had saved me. According to the nurse, she had tried to catch me, but had lost control and instead turned herself around, taking the damage for me. With damaged wings, she had run to the hospital with me on her back. I will never forget the loyalty of her actions. The first thing I ever said to her, was a silent "I'm sorry."
She woke up at the hospital next to me with a lost memory of the past days. When I explained to her what happened, she said to me that she would have saved anybodys life at that moment.
At the same moment, the doctors came in, telling Dash that she had gotten a small fracture in her wings, that would heal naturally.
My results were not the same, as I had take a neural damage in my spine; making my flying upright terrible. In my life as a pegasus, I would learn to hover, at most.
At that moment, she started to apologize to me. She said she was really sorry that she wasn't fast enough and that she wasn't able to catch me properly, repeating that she was sorry many times. I looked at her with confusion, wondering why she was so sad. She had saved my life! I would never forget that.
A few weeks after that, when we had both recovered, she took me to Cloudsdale, intending to find my family. It didn't matter where we went or who we asked, noone had seen me. Dash decided to take me to Ponyville, because her friend Applejack would surely let me live with her. She told me about how large her house was and the size of her acres. She even said that if she weren't a pegasus, she would like to live there.
Even though I wanted to listen to her, I couldn't move in with some random farmers. I found an abandoned house in the edge of the town, fixed it up a little and I have lived there ever since. How I managed so long without anyone except for Rainbow dash knowing I'm an orphant is still a mystery for me.
Rainbow dash saved my life, gave me a home, dreams and a reason to live. I was, and am forever grateful.
Meeting that cyancoated pony was the best thing that ever happened to me, and looking up in the sky during daytime when she flew made my life complete for the mere seconds I watched the rainbow trail behind her.. However, my life was filled with bad moments aswell.
School was a pain, mostly because I wasn't able to fly. Other pegasus's would fly above me and laugh at me. I hated being lonely.
Another thing that bothered me in school was the fact that I was very late with my cutie mark. That has become easier for me considering my newfound friends, Applebloom and Sweetie bell, but I still hear the words` blank flank´ everytime I'm walking alone past those idiots Silver spoon and Diamon tiara.
I have lived my life on the brink of complete joy and utter depression.
The reason I wrote this, is because it might've been my last chance.
Something started to happen around me about two months ago, that I fear will overcome me eventually. Sometimes I feel insane, like I'm having a long nightmare. I see figures everywhere. Wherever I go I'm stalked.
My room changes just a little bit everytime I leave the house. If I walk out of it leaving a glass on the bed, it will be gone when I get back. I am so scared, and I have noone except for Dash to talk to it about. But I don't want to disturb her too often, considering the Wonderbolts try-outs is coming up soon.
I'm getting off track again. The very reason why I'm writing this is because I found something in my drawing room today. A map, leading to an unknown entrance to the Everfree forest. Below it was in deep black text "I'm sorry".
I am not just walking to the place alone, because a piece of paper told me to. I need help if I'm going to figure this out.
I will find Dash and ask her to go to the place with her. Wish me luck.
If I do not return, tell Dash that I always wanted to be like her.

The last sentence barely even left Sweetie belles lips, as she slowly whispered it.
Applejack was sitting down, terrified.
"Look girls, ah'm mighty sorry for doubtin' you... Where d'ya reckon Dash went?"
None of them replied. Sweetie belle was sitting on a rock while the two others sat on the grass. It was silent for long, until Applebloom looked closer at the note.
"Hey, There's somethin' on the back!" She stood up now, a spark of hope giving her energy.
Sweetie belle hastily turned it around, started to read it with stammering.
"D....D-dear ev....."
She stopped, took a deep breath and cleared her throat.
Dear everyone who has ever meant anything to me.
I am leaving to save Scootaloo.
Perhaps I wont return.
If Scootaloo comes back alone, I hope that you will all have a great life without me..
Do not follow me.
